the ending of avatar is just so good. teal’c and daniel have reached the final stage of the game. the goa’uld could be any one of sam, jack, or siler and daniel’s two-second precognition isn’t enough to tell which one it is in time. the naquadah generator is about to explode and sg-1 is stuck in a four-way standoff.

and then at almost the last minute teal’c makes a decision to trust his team. he decides to trust that jack and sam are on his side just like he took a chance on trusting jack and betraying apophis in children of the gods.

and his trust pays off, sam defuses the bomb and they kill goa’uld!siler and win the game. and then:

“we have won”

“it’s what we do”

it IS what they do they are a FAMILY and they have so much FAITH and TRUST in one another i love them SO MUCH

Wait oh my cod how does the Admin’s story play out in the swap AU??

Hehehe, just like how it happens in the game, the admins branch out from their little cabin to expand on the world before ultimately falling apart. Instead of the cabin, in swap au's case, they have their little emporium. They expand the world looking to create grand adventures for their little trio to go on.

Eventually, Vos and Sammy look into settling down and expand more on what they previously started creating. Vos (to no one's suprise) was obsessed with the sea, and Sammie was quite fond of her various forest biomes. Jack, who wanted to keep on adventuring, struggled to keep them interested in their ever fading passion. After all, after doing the same thing for who knows how many years and having God-like powers to start taking the initial thrill out of it, what they had built on together wouldn't last forever 😔.

Eventually, the trio ends up fighting, and Jack kills Vos with the ocean he loved oh so dearly. He feels a lot of guilt and shame afterward, ends up striping Sammy of her powers, and sends her millions of blocks away from him for her own safety (or sends her to some weird twisted prison in the depths of the end (whichever is more interesting)) before he secludes himself in the vast and barren land of the dessert (one of his own creations)

Late night Rhys thoughts but -

He never idolises Jack, at least not fully. He cared about the guy, was inspired, a fan, wanted to be him. But he called him out on being a maniac. He kept on calling out the man's behaviour. He could be scared of him, but at no point did he make him into what he wasn't. Only what he was made to believe.

Jack is great at crafting his image. Charismatic, probably unconsciously awkward, but he knows that brings him strength. After all, he needs to be in some way relatable. He can read a person so well, and if you follow him, its because he speaks to goals Rhys wants to go to. But he learns to respect the guy, to some extend at least. He knows the kid is smart, he knows he can give him snark remarks and get something he rarely got - just as snarky comeback.

They both see each other's flaws and try to use them. To different amount of success.
