I Know the End | Vol. 4
Poe Dameron x Reader
Fandom: Star Wars
Summary: You were one of the Rebellionâs greatest weapons in the Galactic Civil War, a Princess from a distant planet, a Jedi with wings. Now, youâve found yourself in a new world, a new war, your old friends long gone.
When Poe Dameron was sent on a wild goose chase of a reconnaissance mission four systems out, he never expected to find the key to his heartâŠ
Note: At long last, here it is. Thank you for your patience. I love you all. I honestly wrote this as a long-winded attempt to make Poe Dameronâs dumbest line âSomehow, Palpatine returnedâ into a gut-wrenching and emotional moment and it got way out of hand. I am no Star Wars expert, but I did a lot of research for this and consider myself waaaaaaay more of a SW nerd now than I was a mere two months ago. Could probably write a dissertation on it at this point (I say as I literally churned out a novel). It is my first time writing for the fandom, though, so, here goes nothing. I did make up a fair bit of stuff and a good handful of OCs for this. Let me know what you think!

SomehowâŠ
You walked up the hill to your favorite spot, chest heavy with emotion. You set your bag against a rock, Rey and Soren running the course out in the trees. You should have been there with them. Or, at the very least, out there with Poe. But there was nothing you could do about that now.
BB-8 rolled over, beeping up at you inquisitively.
âHe leave you here to check on me?â You asked.
He nodded his little head adorably.
âWell that was sweet of him.â You said, kneeling down to pat the top of his head. âThank you for checking in. Iâm gonna meditate up here for a while, if you want to go shadow Soren or Rey.â
He beeped, nodding, telling you heâd go follow Rey for a bit. You watched as he rolled along, his orange and white little head ducking through a patch of brush.
You sat on the rock, legs crossed. You closed your eyes, the Forceâs call loud this time. All-consuming. The sounds of Ajan Kloss swept quickly away, and silence swallowing you instead. Darkness.
You breathed, forcing your lungs to take in the air, to let it out. You listened. You waited.
First, you saw Kylo, searching for something. His energy was frazzled. Desperate. He was conflicted, that much was clear. Maybe Rey was right. Maybe he wasnât completely gone. For Leiaâs sake, you hoped that was true.
You let the breath out, taking another, pushing your mind elsewhere. Deeper. You carefully skirted around Maddox, but landed in the First Order, in the mind of one of the Generals, thinking about their new fleet. He was talking to some of the other officers, arranging things, moving this fleet, starting their operation. You got chills and pulled away, slipping out unnoticed before he could catch a whiff of you poking around.
Moving to something lighter, you watched Rey and Soren, running the training course, BB-8 rolling along behind her. Soren deflected hits with ease, jumping from tree to tree. Rey wasâŠhaving some difficulty, though. Sheâd been in her head a lot lately, like you, but it was different for her. She and Kylo were still connected. You couldnât imagine what it would be like, to be linked to someone like him, through the Force no less. No matter where she went, she took him with her, whether she liked it or not.
You exhaled, breath leaving your mouth in what felt like puffs of steam, fogging up like it had on Hoth. You heard a wicked laugh. A familiar one. Utter darkness. Dark enough to swallow you whole. The hairs on your arms stood straight, goosebumps pricking up. It pulled you. It called. Like a lullaby, butâŠwrong.
No. No, not that.
You shook your head, trying to rid yourself of the feeling, the ice water trickling down your spine. It was empty for a long time, flashes of things fleeting across your mind, but not staying long.
A battle. Lightsabers clashing. Blasters firing. Stormtroopers. A fleet of Star Destroyers against a storming sky. The Millenium Falcon. A desert. A knife. A kiss.
Your heart raced, mind guided forcibly by the hand until you emerged from the trees in your mind. Poe and Finn had landed, Poe walking quickly out of the Falcon, which was engulfed in flames.
âItâs on fire. Whole thingâs on fire! All of itâ! Fire!â He waved a hand behind him, focusing on Rey. âReally could haveâŠused your help out there!âÂ
âHowâd it go?â
âReally bad, actually! Really bad!â
âHanâs ship!â
âWhat did you do to the droid?â
âWhatâd you do to the Falcon?â
âFalconâs in a lot better shape than he is!â
âBB-8âs not on fire!â
âWhatâs left of him isnât on fire!â
âYou know what you are?â
Poe grinned, annoyed. âWhat?â
âYouâre difficult. Youâre a difficult man.â
âYouâŠyou areâŠâ He grunted.
âTheyâre back, Aunt (Y/N).â Soren said, stirring you from your vision. It occurred to you then that it wasnât a vision. Youâd caught up to the present. HowâŠhow long had you been meditating.
The sun was definitely lower in the sky when you opened your eyes. It had been hours. It had only felt like minutes. Something about that place youâd been, that dark, cold void, had just sucked the time away.
âOh. Shit. Alright.â You touched down, feet making contact with the ground once more. You walked with Soren through the trees, to where Poe and Rey were arguing, through the dialogue youâd just heard. You glanced down at BB-8. Sure enough, something had happened while you were near-unconscious, floating in the air. One of Beeâs panels had been knocked clean off.
Poe knelt down beside him, face in his hands. He looked unharmed. A wave of relief washed over you, the sight of him melting away your stress. He hadnât noticed you standing there yet.
Chewie roared, arms in the air. Poe had lightspeed skipped the Falcon.
âYou lightspeed skipped?!â Rey asked.
âYeah, well, it got us back here, didnât it?â
âPoe, the compressorâs down!â
âOh, I know! I was there!â
âYou canât lightspeed skip the Falcon!â
âActually, turns out, you can!â Poe shouted.
âAlright, guys, we just landed, okay?â Finn said, trying to to keep the peace.
They went back and forth for a little longer. Poe and Finn confirmed there had been a spy that they got information from, a First Order operative who was now feeding the Resistance information.
BB-8 told Poe what had happened. âYou dropped a tree on him?â
âYou blew both sub-alternators?!â
They bickered back and forth some more and Poe finally caught your eyes. âYeah, but youâre not. Youâre here training. For what?! Youâre the best fighters we have. We need you. Out there, not here.â
âPoeâŠâ Your heart raced, a lump in your throat. It was your fault. You should have gone with him when he asked.
âBabyâŠâ He shook his head, waving his hands as though he could dispel his anger with a single flourish. He exhaled, looking tired. âMaybe you were right. We could have used a Jedi out thereâŠâ Poe bit his lip, thinking before he spoke, before he made that sad look in your eyes worse. âIâm gonna hit the fresher. Weâll talk after.â
âAlright.â You nodded, watching as he went, firing some orders on the way there, making sure the files got properly decoded in the meantime.
BB-8 looked up at you, beeping sadly.
âNo, itâs okay. Poe and I are fine.â You reassured him. âLetâs get you fixed up, alright?â
He nodded his head, following you along to the workshop. You hauled him up onto one of the empty stations near the entrance, pulling out the necessary tools, a spare panel to replace the one that had fallen off, and you set to work, fixing him up with a screwdriver, using the Force to make sure everything was tight, fit in place. You had a pair of goggles on your face, to help with the smaller details, giving you the zoom you needed to see them.
You pulled out the paint next, the shade of orange that matched the rest of him, and gingerly began painting the panel until it matched.
âHow do you know how to do that?â Poeâs voice was low, rolling at the back of his throat. You turned to find him standing in the workshopâs doorway, leaning against the doorframe.
âI had a droid. Did repairs on her when the mechs were too busy.â You replied, brush strokes gently filling in the color, careful not to deviate from the crisp lines.
His eyebrows furrowed. âDidnât know that.â
âMmhmm.â You shrugged, finishing up and tucking the tools back into their places. You used a small fan to dry the top coat faster. You knew BB-8, knew heâd be racing as soon as you set him down, smearing the fresh paint throughout base.
âWhat happened to her?â
âIâmâŠI donât know. Itâs been thirty years and I havenât seen her roaming around. Artoo never mentioned her, and I havenât brought it up. SheâŠmight have gotten scrapped or destroyedâŠâ
BB-8 asked if it was dry yet, sounding impatient.
You laughed, reaching out a tentative finger to check, and sure enough, it was. âLooks like youâre good to go. Here, letâs get you back on the ground.â You picked up the heavy droid, Poe helping to lower him to the ground. âHow do you feel? Everything fit right? Everythingâs in the right spot?â
He gave a cursory roll around the workshop, whirring excitedly, complimenting your work.
You sat back on the workbench, looking up at Poe, his hair still damp from the fresher. He looked clean, but still tired. You could feel how he was frayed at the edges. You reached up to touch his cheek, dark and dusted with more stubble than usual. It made him look older.
âYouâre giving me that look.â
âWhat look?â You asked, eyes sparkling innocently.
âThat look you get when youâre thinking too much.â
âYeah, well, excuse me for being worried about my boyfriend.â You chuckled as he took a step closer, slotting himself between your legs and pressing his face into the crook of your neck. âHe is a pilot, after all, itâs a pretty dangerous gig.â
He wrapped his arms around your figure, exhaling deeply. You inhaled the scent of him. That soap that smelled like fresh rain. You could have drowned in it, you were sure. In him.
âYou smell good.â You murmured, smiling when he chuckled against you.
âYou like that, huh?â
âMmhmm.â You pulled him closer, tears welling in your eyes, that lump returning to your throat âI should have been there, Poe. Iâm sorry.â
He shook his head. âIâm fine. We all are. I justâŠItâs hard for me to wrap my head around sometimes, this Jedi stuff. But itâs important, too.â
You pressed a long kiss to his cheek. He turned his head, catching your lips instead, arms holding you close. You stayed like that for a long moment until you heard someone clear their throat in the doorway.
âHey, uh, they just about got those files decrypted. Leiaâs calling a meeting in an hour. Wants to talk to both of you first.â Snap said.
âThanks, buddy. Weâll head that way.â Poe said with a smile. He offered his hand and you took it gladly, fingers threaded together. He gave your hand a squeeze. You walked through base together, drawing a few pairs of eyes, but you didnât care anymore. BB-8 rolled on ahead, greeting the other droids as everyone gathered.
Your heart raced, stomach sinking when you saw the look on Leiaâs face. You couldnât place it yet, what was wrong. But the feeling alone was enough to tell you it was bad. Nearly unspeakable. Like that deep, dark void you had seen, icewater chilling in your veins.Â
You tensed, wings flaring, eyes widening as you realized.
âHey.â Poe squeezed your hand, sensing the way you froze. âWhatâsâŠ?â
She didnât even have to say it. You already knew.
âPalpatine.â
***
âArtoo decrypted the files from the First Order spy andâŠit confirms the worst.â Poe began, the entire Resistance packed into the hangar, circled up to listen.Â
You sat on a crate at the edge of the circle, shoulders hunched, wings drooping, pain etched deep into your eyes. It was like your soul had been crushed to a fine powder, sprinkled across the galaxy. Thirty years earlier, youâd given your life to stop Insidia from reviving Palpatine. And it was all for nothing. The attack on Mariposas, your decades in cryosleep. It was meaningless now. Youâd given up your life, your friends, all of it to protect a future that hadnât come to pass. Heâd been there, pulling the strings the whole time, manipulating Kylo, creating the First OrderâŠ
Poe let out a broken sigh, eyes lingering on your hunched figure before delivering the news. âSomehow, Palpatine returned.â
The Resistance murmured, trying to figure out exactly how it had happened. Was it dark cloning? Sith magic? You wanted to pipe up, tell them exactly how. Cultists, led by Insidia, then your own brother, feeding him Force users until heâd reached his full strength again. Or, full enough. You doubted he was already at his full strength. If he wasâŠit would be worse.
No wonder the Jedi were no more. Theyâd all been drained to nothing to revive the man whoâd ruined your life and nearly destroyed the galaxy.
Poe continued to explain the situation, the fleet forming on Exegol, the Sith planet. The Final Order.
You wanted to collapse. Wanted to lay down, wanted to scream, wanted to let it all out in a blinding wave of Force energy, but you couldnât. Couldnât move. Paralyzed by the encroaching sense of doom. Dark and all-consuming.
âPrincess, are you alright?â One of the guys in intel asked once the meeting was disbanded. Beaumont. He was nice, had kind eyes, a gentle smile. Heâd been a teacher before he left for the Resistance.
You nodded, forcing yourself to perk up, straightening out your posture. Right. There were people watching. Always were. And if you didnât have hope, how were they expected to? âFine. Iâm fine. JustâŠthinking. Trying toâŠwrap my head around all of this.â
Rey came walking back towards the group with one of Lukeâs journals, one you hadnât touched yet. She flipped through the pages, holding it up to show you. âLuke was trying to find Exegol. After the attack on Mariposas. Nearly found it, too, but his trail went cold on Pasaana tracking down a Sith Wayfinder. We could go. The two of us. Finish this.â
She meant it. You could see it in her eyes. That spark. Just you and her, leaving to finish what you and Luke had started. To put an end to the madness once and for all. Poe and Finn could stay behind, make a plan for the final fight, figure out how to destroy the fleet before they set out on their attack of the galaxy.
And no matter what happened, the fate of the Jedi would be safe in Sorenâs hands. In Finnâs.
It seemed dangerous, butâŠit had to be done. The clock was already ticking, and you were running out of time.
You grabbed a bag, heading towards the Falcon with Rey.
âWhat, were you even going to say goodbye?â Poe asked, causing you to freeze in place, turning to face him. âOr were you just gonna pull outta here with the compressor still smoking?â
âI had a feeling you might not take it so well.â
âYeah, well you were right. Weâre coming with you.â Poe said, touching your arm on the way into the Falcon with Chewie. Finn was right behind him.
âItâs too dangerous. Weâre meant to do this.â Rey said, trying to reason with them, but you could tell they were set on it.
âAnd weâre meant to go with you.â Finn said. âYouâre not going without us. But Iâll let you argue with him about it if you want.â He motioned to Poe.
You couldnât help but chuckle. That wasnât an argument you would win.
âRepairs will be done tomorrow morning. Weâre going with you.â Poe said, coming back out of the ship. He brushed the hair out of your face, eyes full of love and determination. âEnd of story.â
âWhat if they need you here?â
âWhat if you need me there?â He countered, quirking an eyebrow. âItâs been a while since weâve been on a mission together. I canât wait to see what you can do now, with all that training, your Highness.â
âPoe.â
â(Y/N).â
You let out a sigh, closing your eyes. âWhat if something happens to you?â
âWhat if something happens to you and Iâm not there?â He asked. It had been weighing on him. He tilted his head, sincerity in his voice. âIâd rather die, with you, helping you, knowing I made a difference, then letting you face this alone. Weâre finishing this. Together. Whether I make it to the end or not.â
âPoeââ
âYou told me you didnât expect to survive the Rebellion. You were willing to die for the cause. Isnât this the same?â
You stared at him for a long moment, searching his eyes, his feelings, that warmth in his chest steadfast and strong. It wasnât the same. Not anymore. Not for you. You were willing to die, sure, butâŠthat little life youâd seen, his graying hair, his wizened face, his reading glassesâŠ
The wedding ringâŠ
In all your visions of it, youâd never seen yourself there. Just him. You didnât want to risk that. His future, whether or not you were in it.
âBaby, you can fight with me all night about it, alright? Iâm going. Soâs Finn.â He said, tone still tense. StillâŠfighting. He was always a fighter, youâd known that from the start. You just never expected him to be fighting you.
***
The crew had a bonfire that night. Word had spread. Your top secret mission wasnât so secret anymore. People were scrambling to figure out what theyâd do with all of you gone. And with three of the four Jedi leaving, Soren made it his mission to stay. To help around the base. To be the resident Jedi in your stead.
Your legacy.
You and Laesynda had one last, final talk. She wished you all the luck in the galaxy, prayed youâd come back this time. That it wouldnât be another thirty years before she got to see her sister again.
You stared into the flames, arms crossed, thinking about all of it. The gathering was devoid of its usual chatter, joking banter between the Resistance fighters. Things were bleak. If it didnât go well, if Palpatine couldnât be stoppedâŠthis night could very well be one of your last. All of you. The First Order would snuff out the Resistance like a birthday candle.
Poe sat beside you, quiet. He didnât want to argue any more, but couldnât stomach the look in your eye. The worry. He wondered what all youâd seen, the things you werenât sharing with him. He ran a hand down his face, letting out a long sigh.
Why did dating a Jedi have to be so kriffinâ complicatedâŠ
Budding in his chest, he felt something, a somewhat familiar sensation. Heâd felt it only once before. And when he looked up, sure enough, Luke Skywalkerâs Force Ghost was standing at the edge of the woods, meeting his eyes this time.
Poe blinked, staring at him. He pointed at his chest, as if to ask âwho, me?â The Jedi of legend shook his head, motioning to you. Ah, right. That made sense. Obviously he was there to see you.
Poe nudged you, pulling you from your thoughts, hand tight around yours as the light of the fire danced around your face. âHey, uhhhâŠâ
You looked over at him, anxious to hear what he had to say now that he was finally ready to talk. Instead, he tilted his head towards Luke, who stood there, a sullen look in his eyes.
You chuckled softly. âOh. Okay. Iâll be back soon.â You squeezed his hand, pressing a long kiss to his cheek, as if to reassure him of something. You knew it had to be weird for him, the ghost of your dead ex-boyfriend coming around for a chat.
Poe nodded, watching as you walked off with him. He took a long sip of his beer.
âI was wondering if youâd show up to see me off.â You murmured, meeting him face to face once more. It felt right, seeing him before the end.
âLeia said I should give this to you myself. I heard youâd been looking for one, Jedi Master.â Luke held up a saber, his second. The green one. Youâd wondered what had happened to it, but had never had the time to investigate that yourself. You didnât even know where to start looking, to be honest.
You nodded. âFor Finn. Thank you.â
âThree Padawans. Theyâre all doing well under your instruction. IâŠwell, Iâm really proud of you, you know. Youâre really doing it. Youâre fostering a new generation of Jedi.â
âTrying to. It would beâŠwell, it would be easier with you here.â You said softly, daring to meet his eyes, to imagine the life where you got to stay. Where you and Luke started the Jedi again, together. Where Kylo never turned to the dark side and the First Order never rose to power.
It would have been nice. Growing old with him. Living that dream. But it was only ever that. A dream. Never had it ever been real to you, even when you begged the Force for it to be so.
âI know. Iâm sorry, Princess. But, for what itâs worth, I think itâs gonna work out.â
âYou do?â
âI do. You and that pilot of yours are good together. HeâsâŠdetermined. A fighter. One hell of a pilot. And you can tell him I said that. Heâs pretending not to look over here right now, looking out of the corner of his eye. Checking on you.â
âSounds like Poe.â You chuckled. âDid you know aboutâŠhim? Us?â
âIt might have crossed my mind a few times.â Luke admitted, rubbing at his ghostly beard. âI knew youâd be okay, regardless. That you had someone like him to help you pick up the pieces.â
You nodded, reminiscing softly on your relationship. On both relationships.
Luke met your eyes. He closed them, and his form shifted, back to his younger self. The Luke Skywalker you had loved. The Luke you had fought alongside, whoâd been your everything. Your partner, your fellow Jedi, your best friend. You didnât fight him this time, let him keep the form. You knew you needed to hear these words from your Luke.
âWe started this path. You and I. Together. You and Rey are going to finish it. I canât see how it ends, no one can, but the Force will guide you. And Iâll be right there, by your side.â He reached for you and you stepped forward, hugging him, his form solidifying in your hold, arms tight around you.
You closed your eyes, letting out a long breath.
âI always loved you, you know.â Luke confessed.
âI know. I loved you, too.â You replied, pulling away to look at that youthful face one last time. Your former lover. Your friend. âThank you. For everything, Luke.â
And then he was gone, fading right before your eyes until you were left there with the open air, a cold lightsaber hilt in your hand.
You turned back to the bonfire, making a beeline for Finn, who was leaned against a tree, trying to convince Rose to go with you guys the following day. She wasnât having it.
âFinn, I, uh, got you a present.â You said.
âFor me?â He asked, curiosity glimmering in his warm gaze. His smile dropped when he saw it, though, gripped in your hand. Luke Skywalkerâs missing saber. His heart raced. âThatâs notâŠâ
âIt is.â
âI canât.â
âYou can. Youâre ready for it. If youâre coming with us tomorrow, youâre taking this saber.â You insisted, handing it to him and curling his fingers around it, forcing him to take it. âThatâs my one condition.â
âWhatâs your condition for Poe?â
You grinned, rolling your eyes. âHis rugged good looks are getting him on that mission, Iâm afraid. I couldnât say no to that face.â
Finn laughed at that. âSo itâs really happening. Weâre going.â
âWeâre going. IâŠIâm kind of glad, actually. Itâll be nice to have you two along for the ride. OneâŠlast adventure. All of us together.â
Finn opened his arms, hugging you tightly. You rested your face against his strong chest, relishing the warmth, the moment between you. Teacher and student, but more importantly, friends. âThank you. For this. For believing in me.â
âNo, thank you. Weâre gonna need all the Jedi we can getâŠâ
You returned to Poe after, his eyes watching you for a long moment. You sat down on the log, side pressed to his. He wrapped an arm around you, resting his head against yours.
âAre we still not talking?â He dared to ask.
You chuckled a little. âIâm coming around on the idea.â
âOf what, talking to your boyfriend, or letting him come on your dangerous, galaxy-saving mission tomorrow?â
âPerhaps both.â You let out a breath. âJust had a conversation with my ex. He said he thinks weâre good together. He gave me his saber, to give to Finn.â
âThe green one.â
âThe green one.â You agreed.
âMmm.â Poe nodded, turning his head to press a long kiss to your hairline, a hand ghosting over the crest of your wings. âWell, he and I will have to agree on that. I also think weâre pretty good together.â
You laughed. âWell, Iâd hope so, at this point. He also said youâre one hell of a pilot. So thereâs that.â
His eyes widened. âLuke Skywalker just told you he thinks Iâm a good pilot.â
âHe did, yeah.â You chuckled, kissing his cheek. âAnyone with eyes knows that, Poe. I happen to think youâre the best, butâŠI might be a little biased.â
You could feel it then, sitting right at the tip of his tongue. The L word. You knew he wanted to say it. Knew heâd practiced. Knew he was holding onto it for just the right moment. You could feel it there, lingering, hovering unsaid. Like all those times heâd dreamed of kissing you before you finally collided.
You turned your face, pulling him in for a long, sweet kiss, meeting his gaze, peering straight into his soul, he was sure. Sometimes, when you looked at him like that, it was like you were looking straight through him, at every thought floating around his mind.
You nodded, thumb grazing over the spot just beneath that little scar on his cheekbone. âI know.â
Your Dying Decree
In the morning, you woke in Poeâs arms. He was still sleeping, head tucked into the crook of your neck, curls tousled, tickling your skin. His breaths were long and slow, eyes closed, thick eyelashes resting against those pretty cheekbones.
He was so handsome, your pilot.
And yet, looking at him, you couldnât stop thinking about how easy it would be to slip out now, leave him where it was safe. Well, relatively safer. There was no safe place in the galaxy for members of the Resistance now.
His arms curled tighter around you and he hummed, those warm brown eyes opening.
He chuckled, searching your face. âI kinda thought youâd be gone by now.â
âI thought about it.â You admitted, voice no more than a whisper.
âI know you did.â He smirked, peppering kisses up your neck, trailing to your lips, where he hovered for a moment, eyes soft, like he was memorizing every detail, just like this. âJust canât get enough of me, huh?â
You giggled, rolling your eyes before pulling him into a kiss. âThat and I knew youâd never forgive me if I left without you.â
Poe nuzzled his nose to yours, kissing your lips one last time before sitting up out of the bed, getting dressed. Your fingers hovered over the options at your disposal before settling on a black tunic, black pants. You were pulling a page from Lukeâs book.
You carefully slipped your wings through the opening, securing everything in place and then pulling on your belts, equipping your saber. You braided the front of your hair back, out of the way, and then turned to find Poe staring, eyes raking down your form. He smiled to himself, then met your gaze, stepping forward to collect you in his arms.
âLooking very regal today, Princess.â
âLooking veryâŠpiratey today, pilot.â You said, smoothing your hands over the fabric of that shirt of his. Your fingers trailed down the buttons, or lack thereof. âSo did it come like this or did you take them off yourself?â
He laughed loudly, cheeks reddening. âWhat, you donât like it?â
âNo, I never said that.â You said, a hand raising to his cheek. âYouâre avoiding the question, Dameron.â
âThey might have fallen off at some point, yeah.â
âWas a pair of scissors involved?â
He chuckled. âAlright, I can throw on a scarf if youâre so worried about it.â
âYou might need one anyway, we are headed to the desert.â You told him, tucking a curl behind his ear.
The two of you gathered your things and walked out of the room, meeting Rey and Finn in the hallway, all dressed as well. You gave the two of them a nervous smile. The four of you met with Chewie, Threepio, and BB-8 in the hangar. Leia was standing there, a wistful look on her face. She could tell it was coming, the end. You were sure it brought back memories, sending the four of you off like this.
You walked over her, hugging her one last time. Her arms wrapped around you tight, a hand cradling your head. Your best friend. Your sister. Your General.
âMay the Force be with You, Princess.â She said, eyes twinkling.
âAnd with us all.â You replied, tears pricking in your eyes.Â
You turned, joining the others in the Falcon. You walked into the cockpit. Chewie and Poe were hovering over the controls. Finn sitting behind Chewie. You settled into the seat behind Poe, putting a hand on his shoulder. He reached up to touch it, acknowledging your presence with warmth before getting back to the controls. Rey stood in the doorway, reaching for your hand. You gave it to her.
Chewie looked at you, roaring softly, melancholy on his voice.
âYouâre right, Chewie. Just like old times.â
***
You landed on Pasaana hours later, Poe putting the Falcon down at the edge of a settlement. No, you realized. A festival. Threepio confirmed this as the six of you rounded the corner.Â
âIsnât this lucky?â Threepio asked.
âIncredibly lucky.â Poe replied, voice dry. âKeep your heads down. Chewie. First Order is always running random patrols. Letâs split up. See what the locals know.â
The group split, speaking with some of the locals who were gathered for the festival of ancestors, wearing bright, silken garments. Rey stopped to talk to a little girl, aided by Threepio to translate. After, you saw her go stiff, standing straight, eyes glazed over. You knew what that meant. Kylo was in her head.
âYou find anything?â Poe asked, touching your arm.
You shook your head, motioning to Rey. âThatâs not good.â
âMmm, alright. Letâsââ
âI found the fugitives! Theyâre here!â A Stormtrooper announced, words warbled through a helmet.
Poe reached for his blaster. He looked to Chewie and Finn. âWe gotta go.â
You grabbed Rey and the group moved quickly through the crowd, tailed by the Stormtrooper until a man in a large helmet shot him straight through the eye, ushering you into a small transport. You eyed him up, his energy familiar, but it didnât quite click until you were all inside just who he was.
âHow did you find us?â Finn asked, looking at him.
He took off his helmet and you grinned. You should have known. He always had a habit of popping up right when you needed him most. It was Lando. âWookies stand out in a crowd.â
Chewie roared happily and hugged him.
âItâs good to see you too, pal.â He nodded at you. âYour Highness. Back in the field?â
âItâs like I never left. What are you doing here?â
âThought you might need some help. I traveled here with Luke, trying to find Exegol. Trying to find other things, tooâŠâ Landoâs eyes wandered to the gleaming medallion around Poeâs neck.
Oh. Figured.
Lando told you about Ochi, how he and Luke had tailed his ship to Pasaana. On the horizon, you could hear that fateful sound. TIE fighters. A lot of them.
âIâve got a bad feeling about thisâŠâ Lando said, peeking through the blinds. âOchiâs ship is out past Lurch Canyon. Go.â
âThank you, General.â Poe said, Chewie bidding him goodbye after.
ïżœïżœThank you, Lando.â You said, touching his arm, meeting his eyes.
âDonât thank me yet.â
You all stepped out of the ship, running through the sand. Poe led the way to some speeders, looking a little worse for wear. You watched as he popped a panel off, reaching into the wires, twisting them with skill, precision.Â
Hot-wiring, you realized. Your boyfriend was hot-wiring a speeder.
âI didnât know you knew how to do that.â You noted.
âThereâs a lot you donât know about me, Princess.â He glanced up, a few scout troopers rounding the corner. âWe gotta go!â
You flitted your wings, hopping up onto one of the speeders, settling in beside Poe and Finn, Rey and Chewie on the other. Poe steered with grace, guiding it across the desert planet as a pair of Trooper speeders trailed.
You used your saber to deflect their shots. Two of the troopers launched into the air, flying on jetpacks.
âThey fly now?!â Finn asked.
Poe turned his attention ahead, determination on his brow. âThey fly now!â Poe steered into a narrow valley, losing sight of them behind you. âWe lose âem?!â
âI donât think so.â You shook your head. Soon enough, one of them pulled ahead of you, cutting you off.
âTime to use that training, baby.â
âThought youâd never ask.â You reached out, using the force to push hurl the Stormtrooper speeder straight into the rock in front of it, where it exploded in a burst of flame.
Finn and Poe cheered and you pulled out of the valley, meeting back up with Rey and hers. One of the troopers in the sky reemerged, shooting the engine of Reyâs speeder, causing it to explode, sending her and Chewie and BB-8 into the air. The speeder the rest of you were on went next, throwing all of you into the sand. You used the Force to cushion the landing as best as you could and you all shot at the trooper until you took out his jetpack, sending him crashing down into one of the jagged mountains.
It was only after that you seemed to notice you were slipping into a pool of pebbles. Perfectly round. A sinking field.
Poe had landed flat on his back, struggling in them, trying to swim out. âThe hell is this?â
âSinking fields! Grab onto something!â
You were up to your hips in it. You reached for Poe, watching in horror as he slipped lower and lower. âPoe? Poe!â
â(Y/N)! I loveâ!â His curls slipped beneath the pebbles, words swallowed up as he went under.
âRey! Rey, I never told youââ Finn shouted, slipping under next.
You let out a cry, struggling for a few moments before surrendering to the pull, and descending down with the rest of them.
It was dark, the pebbles shifting around your body, encasing every bit of you until your legs found open air beneath you. You kicked, struggling as your body moved through, head still enveloped in total darkness. You could hear Poeâs voice beneath you, then felt his hand on your leg, arms wrapping around you as you fell into what seemed to be a cave.
He met your eyes, brushing dirt out of your face. âYou alright?â
âFine. Where are the others?â
Chewie fell beside you. Finn walked out from a cavern, and Rey walked from another, everyone accounted for, even the droids.
You shook out your wings, pebbles cascading onto the stone floors. You touched your saber, making sure it was still there, hadnât been lost on the way down.
âWhere are we?â
âIn a cave of some kind.â Threepio explained.
âI thought we were goners.â Finn said, voice filled with relief.
âMe too,â Poe confessed, giving you a very loaded look, eyes searching yours, as if asking if youâd heard what heâd said before going under.Â
You had. His last words to you would have been a confession of his love. Your heart broke even thinking about it. You reached for his hand, squeezing it. He squeezed back, letting out a long breath. You were okay. You both were.
âWhat is this place?â Rey asked. The group started poking around. Rey ignited her saber, you, yours. Poe lit his flashlight, which paled in comparison. Eventually, you found Ochiâs speeder, a bad sign. With it, Ochiâs remains.
Heâd never gotten out of the cave. Heâd died there, and Lukeâs quest for Exegol with him.
On the ground, you spotted a knife. The energy from it wasâŠhorrible. Dark.Â
You held your saber out to Poe. âCan you hold this?â
âUhhhh, sure.â He replied, bathed in the pink light of its blade. He gingerly took the hilt of it, not daring to move it a single inch. Heâd never touched a lightsaber before. Well, aside from helping you build it, of course. But holding it while it was activated was different. It feltâŠforbidden, almost.
You bent down and picked up the dagger, studying it. Sith Runes. Figured. ItâŠfelt like it was burning your hand. The longer you held it, the worse you felt. You tried to read it, tried to garner where it was from, what it would do, but it hurt. Badly.
You let out a pained yell and dropped it, clutching your hand like youâd been physically burned.
âAre you okay?â Rey asked with concern.
âThat thingâŠâ You pointed to the dagger. âIs made of evil. ItâŠwow, holy fuck.â
Poe stared at you, watching as you recovered, still holding your lightsaber like it was a bomb.Â
You chuckled a little, reaching for it. âThank you. Give me that, flyboy.â You powered it down, clipping it to your belt.
He reached out and touched your arm, eyes searching your face for any signs of damage. You gave him a warm look, touching his hand.
âThey are Sith Runes. I believe they are directions to the location of the Sith Wayfinder.â Threepio reported.
âGreat. Where is it?â Poe asked.
âI am forbidden from translating it, Iâm afraid. The Republic outlawed all Sith languages nearly a century ago. To do so would be against my programming.â
âSo you know where it is, you just canât tell us?â Finn repeated, sounding as annoyed as you all felt.
âPrecisely. My apologies, Master Finn.â
âWell thatâs just great.â Poe sighed, hands on his hips. âWhat now?â
âWe need to take it with us. Find somewhere to have it translated. Maybe the answer is on Ochiâs ship.â Rey reasoned.
You nodded, but didnât reach for the dagger. Instead, Chewie picked it up, putting it in his messenger bag. He put a hand on your shoulder, a wordless message. He would carry it for you. Your loyal Wookie. Sometimes, you werenât sure what you would do without him.
The group continued moving, trying to find a way out of the cave. Eventually, you came across a pile of rocks, layered in front of what appeared to be an opening. Focusing, you and Rey moved the pile out of the way, sunlight streaming through the hole you created. Once you were out, you headed up onto the bluff to Ochiâs ship. Poe managed to crack it open and led the rest of you inside.
It was very clearly abandoned. There were cobwebs clinging to nearly every surface, a thick layer of dust on every shelf, panel, and surface. You each picked a corner and started looking around for anything that could be of use. BB-8 made a discovery of his own, a small droid with a large wheel and a cone-shaped face, who, once booted up, started rolling around curiously. Rey reached out for him, but he backed away, seemingly traumatized by whoever had owned him before. Probably Ochi.
âWhat were you going to say before?â Rey asked Finn finally. You could tell it had been eating at her.
âWhat?â
âIn the sinking fields. You said youâd never told me something.â She pushed, looking through the shelf beside him. âWhat was it?â
âWe can talk later.â Finn said, dropping his voice, eyes serious and vulnerable.
âWhen weâre not here?â Poe asked with a chuckle.
âWhat, you wanna finish your dying decree right here, Poe?â Finn fired back.
âNot particularly.â He muttered, deflated.
You walked over and touched his arm, slotting beside him, searching forâŠwell, anything, really. Anything you could use. He looked at you, eyes searching once more, looking forâŠwell, anything. A reaction to what youâd heard.
You wanted to say it. Wanted him to, but youâd known from your conversations with the other pilots, the other ladies on base, that Poe Dameron didnât say that word. Ever. Heâd never said it to someone. Not like that, at least.Heâd had his share of conquests, sure, but what the two of you had was decidedly different. It would have been his last dying breath, and you respected that. You didnât want to force him out of it just because you hadnât all died in that sinking field. But the fact that it was on the tip of his tongue, always seemed to be, meant that what you had between the two of you was real.
But then again, the only confirmation you needed of that was the band of braided leather around your wrist, the healerâs pendant from your home planet hanging from his neck.
Instead, you wrapped an arm around his waist, thumb rubbing a circle on his hip. You gave him a loving squeeze before refocusing on the task at hand.
Rey peered out the window, her eyes widening as she spotted Kyloâs TIE fighter, speeding across the sand. âHeâs here.â
âYou want me with you?â You asked, reaching for the hilt of your saber.
Rey nodded and you followed her out of the ship without another hesitation. You readied your blade, watching as Rey launched herself into the air, flipping as she sliced off one wing of his TIE, sending him into a death spiral, straight into the jagged rocks.
He climbed out of the shipâs wreckage and launched himself into a duel. He slashed at Rey with hatred. With rage. WithâŠlonging. Confusion, even. He was still conflicted, that much was clear.Â
You joined the fight, covering Reyâs back. Red, Blue, and Pink clashed, sabers whumming, singing as they swung through the air, colliding again and again. Kylo started his usual banter, trying to get in Reyâs head. But then he turned to you, venom on his tongue, fire in his eyes.
âAnd you, the so-called princess of a long-gone planet. You slept through the destruction of your home planet, gave your life for a lost cause. Who are you to come here, acting to be the authority on this war, the state of the galaxy?â
âIâm nobody. Iâm just a girl. But I know right from wrong. I can feel it, like she can. You know it, too. Youâre fighting it so hard. Why? To prove yourself? Youâre just like my brother and itâs pathetic.â You said, saber sparking against the unstable red of his. âYou have a family who loves you. A mother who would die for you. She shouldnât still believe in you, but she does.â
Something faltered in his gaze. He opened his mouth to fire back, âLuke Skywalkerââ
âFailed me, too. He left me to sleep in a fucking pod for thirty years. You donât see me picking up with the First Order to get revenge on the galaxy for it.â You thrust your saber forward, throwing him to the ground.Â
Rey used the Force to push him back, through the sand.
âREY! They got Chewie!â Finn called, motioning frantically to a transport, taking off into the air. Rey reached forward, trying to stop the transport. You reached up to help her, but the two of you still werenât enough.
âFinn, we need you!â You called, encouraging him to help.
Nodding, Finn reached for the transport, too, his power combining with the two of yours and bringing the transport down onto the ground, its engines bursting into flames, the metal crunching with a deafening screech.
You took off at a run, wings carrying you across the desert winds, towards the transport. The ramp lowered and a cluster of Stormtroopers and Scouttroopers came out, blasters blazing. You handled them quickly, learning almost instantly that Chewie was not there. In fact, the transport was empty.
âHeâs not here!â You called, flying back up to Ochiâs ship as Rey and Finn ran up into the ramp. âThere must have been another transport. Heâs not here.â You reported, catching your breath, wings flicking a few times before folding down again.
âFuck. Well, what now?â Poe asked, a hand trailing down his face.
âHe had the knife.â Finn added, hands on his hips, deep in thought.
âHe had the knifeâŠâ Poe repeated. âAnd they have the Falcon.â
âWell then weâre just gonna have to go get all three.â You said, the plan unrolling itself in your mind. âGet onto that Star Destroyer and get them all back.â
Poe nodded, mulling it over himself. âAlright. Iâll plot a course. Hang onto something.â
The Legacy of Your Downfall
Poe pulled Ochiâs ship into the hangar of the Star Destroyer, parking it with precision and skill, lowering the ramp. The four of you raced out, blasters pulled, shooting at the handful of Stormtroopers that approached.
âWhere do we start?â Poe asked.
âThis way.â You and Rey pointed at the same time, tuning into the things you were looking for with what could only be the force.
Rey turned back to look at the droids. âYou three stay here.â
âYou donât have to ask me twice.â Threepio said, sounding relieved. You ran ahead with the others, blasting your way through halls, sneaking past droves of patrolling troopers until finally, you felt like you were being pulled in different directions. The knife was one way, Chewie was the other.
âWhatâs that look for?â Poe asked, searching your expression.
You pointed both ways. âThe knife is down this hall. Chewie is back that way.â
âDivide and conquer?â Finn suggested. âWeâll go get Chewie, you two go get the knife and our gear.â
You nodded, giving Poe one last lingering look. His hand ran down the length of your arm, touching you until the very last second as you went your separate ways. You and Rey raced down the hall, turning a corner and finding a stockroom, where they were keeping the knife, as well as all the gear and weapons theyâd found on Chewie and any other prisoners they had.
Rey slung Chewieâs bandolier across her shoulder, tucked the knife into her belt. You gave the room one final sweep before leaving, heading back towards where youâd sent the boys. Rey lingered in the hall, her eyes landing on one door in particular. You knew it couldnât be good.
âWhat?â
âThereâsâŠsomething else.â She said, voice soft. She took a step closer to it, then another. The door slid open and inside was a stark white room. Kyloâs you realized, when your eyes fell on something you hadnât seen in thirty years. Vaderâs helmet. Or, what was left of it, rather.
A chill ran down your spine.
âGo meet with the others. Iâll find you.â
âReyâŠI donât know if thatâs such a good idea.â
âTrust me. IâŠI know what Iâm doing.â She said, desperation at the edge of her words. âIâll keep him distracted. Buy us time.â
You weighed the odds for a moment before nodding. âAlright. But hurry.â
She handed you Chewieâs bandolier, the knife. You hissed, tucking it away before you felt those feelings again. You ran down the hall, stopped by the scorching shock of an electrified melee weapon. At first everything hurt, and then, all at once, everything went black.
***
You came to, leaned back horizontal, arms held in the thick metal bounds of an Imperial Interrogation Chair. You groaned. It wasnât your first time in one. But youâd been hoping the last time would be the last time you ever had the pleasure.
âPerfect timing, Your Highness.â Maddoxâs voice dripped with venom as another prisoner, this one conscious. âIâve brought another guest to join us.â
âYou fuckinâ monster, Iâll kill ya!â Poe threatened, yelling out in pain when one of the Stormtroopers escorting him zapped him again. They threw him onto a second chair, both of you strung up side by side.
âShould have known it would be you. Couldnât finish the job on Hoth, huh? Had to have a Stormtrooper fetch me for you?â You chuckled, voice deep and rolling in the back of your throat, eyes half-lidded as you stared up at your husk of an older brother.
The darkness inside Maddox had been eating at him, literally. He looked awful. Eyes yellow and ringed with dark purple bags, deep wrinkles in his sagging skin. The tips of his fingers were inky black, and behind him were the tatters of his wings, the ones you had cut off with your saber.
He slapped you. âQuiet!â
âDonât you dareââ Poe started, quieted by another jolt of electricity.
âYou thought you could hide your precious pilot from me, didnât you, Princess? Thought you could keep him tucked away in the corners of your mind where I couldnât see?â Maddox chided, shaking his head. âIt figures that the most important person in your life would be someone so weak. So vulnerable. SoâŠhuman. I will show you precisely what I felt. I will rip your wings from your back with my bare hands. But firstâŠâ
Maddox leaned forward, eyes set on Poe, concentration gleaming in those wicked eyes. Poe stirred, eyes widening as he realized what was happening. Heâd been through this once before. Force Torture. And he hadnât been a fan.
You steeled yourself against the chair, taking a deep breath and focusing. You built a shield around Poeâs mind, around yours, imagined them hovering right in front of your foreheads, blocking out the mind probe that Maddox was using, attempting to break you. ToâŠto kill Poe.
Maddox chuckled, amusement brimming behind his frustration. âYou canât possibly shield the two of you forever. Your resolve will weaken.â
You strained, shaking your head, jaw set on edge. âNope. I can.â
He kept pushing. You kept blocking, an invisible duel between the two of you. Literally a mind game. Why he didnât shock you then and there and force your hand, you werenât sure. You could tell he wanted to win. He wanted the pride that came with beating you. He wanted the reassurance that he was stronger than you. That was what it had always been about to him.
âYouâreâŠstronger than I thought, I will give you that.â He admitted, pushing harder.
You rose to meet him. âTrained by the best, unlike you. Even with me strapped to a fucking chair, youâre still second-best.â
A bubble of rage surged and you flinched, head thrown back against the chair. You let out a pained groan, struggling to keep up your wall.
âBabyâŠbaby, itâs okay. IâmâŠIâm okay. You can let me go.â Poe said, watching as Maddox dug deeper, trying to break you.
You couldnât talk anymore, the focus it required too much to allow even the tiniest slip. You shook your head, holding up your wall despite the way it grew heavier and heavier, like pushing a snowball up a hill.
âKill me. Let her go.â Poe begged. âPlease, justâŠâ
You shook your head, letting out a broken, âNO!â
Maddox grimaced at the force of your yell, some pain forcing its way from you to him. He recovered quickly, continuing to push until finally, the door burst open. A blaster fired directly into Maddoxâs stomach, catching him off guard. He collapsed to the floor and then slid, Finn using the Force to push him back, away from the two of you.
The weight was lifted and you let out a breath, head leaning back against the chair. Poe reached for your hand, fingertips coming just short of yours.
Finn raced over, unlocking them. As soon as you were upright, you just about collapsed into Poeâs arms, tears running down your cheeks. âDonât you ever offer your life for mine again! Ever.â
âIâm sorry.â He murmured, head tucked into your neck, voice breaking at the ends. âIâm sorry, Iâm so sorry. I thought he was gonna kill you, baby. IâŠI couldnâtâŠâ
âNo, he was going to kill you. Make me watch. Then he was going to kill me.â You told him, reaching up to touch his face. You pulled him in for a tearful kiss. âIâŠPoeâŠâ
âI know.â He nodded, nose resting against yours. âAre you okay? We gotta get out of here.â
âI have to do something first.â You said, rising to your feet. Your wings rose up behind you, emerging from their folded form, spread to their full wingspan, proud. You used the Force to pull your saber from the pedestal on the wall, where it had been placed by the troopers that apprehended you. You ignited it, walking towards Maddoxâs collapsed form.
Blood ran from the corner of his mouth and he stared up at you with a wicked gleam in his eye. âCome to finish the job?â
âSomething like that.â You said, staring at him with disdain. With mourning. Mourning the brother he could have been. The bond you could have shared. The person he could have grown to be. Instead, it was a monster at your feet. Cruel, wicked, heartless and hollow.
âYou killed me thirty years ago, (Y/N), when you killed the love of my life.â
âInsidia?!â You asked, incredulous. âI knew you were power-hungry, I didnât know you were insane.â
He laughed. âYouâre one to talk. You could have anyone in the galaxy. Any number of powerful Force users with which to start a powerful legacy and you settle for the likes of a human pilot. Pathetic.â
âYou think power is everything. You always have. Youâve never understood love. Insidia didnât love you. She didnât love anyone. She wanted power, just like you. Maybe you two really were a match made in hell.â You laughed bitterly, shaking your head and spinning your saber menacingly. âYou killed our parents. You killed our healers. You destroyed our home. You tried to kill me. So many times. Itâs over, Maddox, Mothim, whatever name it is you want etched into the legacy of your downfall.â
âIt will never be over. Not for you, not for the Resistance, not forââ You plunged your saber into his chest, watching the light leave his eyes.
You deactivated the blade, clipping it to your belt. Your wings fell once more, folded down and out of the way. You felt Poeâs hand on your shoulder, all the eyes in the room on you.
âLetâs get the fuck out of here.â You said.
They nodded, all of you headed towards the hangar.
âHowâd you guys get out of there?â Poe asked Finn and Chewbacca.
Chewbacca roared, informing him that General Hux had been the First Order spy all along, that heâd let them go.
âWhat?!â Poe replied with a laugh of disbelief, shooting at a few Stormtroopers as you passed them. âI knew it!â
âNo you did not!â Finn replied.
You rounded the corner into the hangar, where the Millenium Falcon was waiting in all her glory. The droids had switched ships and you all ran up the ramp and inside as Stormtroopers began to gather. Soon you knew why. Kylo Ren was standing in the hangar, saber drawn.
âRey?â
âI need to do this. Him and me. Go with the others.â Rey said, eyes meeting yours. âGo with Poe.â
âIâm not leaving you here.â
âIâm not asking you to.â She assured.
You felt that tug of war again. Between what she said and what you felt was right. You could feel the light in him, however faint it was. Maybe this was finally the time she could pull the light through. Save Ben Solo.
Finally, you surrendered, following Poe and Finn into the ship, buckling into the cockpit as Poe and Chewie piloted the thing, using the exhaust to blow back Stormtroopers while Finn operated the blaster cannon.
Through the window, you used the Force to collapse a few pillars onto the gathering army of troopers, watching carefully as Rey and Kylo dueled.Â
A duel of the fates.
Finally, Rey got the upper hand. Poe swung the Falcon around and you ran down the ramp, reaching a hand out to her. She latched on, swinging around the rampâs support beam and following you onto the ship.
Poe pulled the ship out of the planetâs atmosphere and into space, jumping through hyperdrive to a safe place where you all could regroup.
âWhat now? We donât know where to go.â Finn said.
Your eyes wandered to Chewie, who once again was carrying the knife in his bag. You reached for him, for it. âLet me see it.â
â(Y/N), are you sureâŠâ Poe said, hesitant to let you touch it after the way youâd reacted the last time, the pain it had put you in. It had already been a long, traumatic day. He didnât want to push it.
âIâm fine.â You replied, exhaustion eating at every piece of you. âI almost had it last time, I think I can get there this time. Some of myâŠproblems just got resolved.â
He relented, watching with guarded brown eyes as you took the knife from Chewbacca. You sat on a box, wings shifting out of the way, hand wrapped around the hilt of the misshapen dagger. You closed your eyes, taking a breath, focusing on what it was, where it had come from, where it was leading youâŠ
You were running through the trees on Endor, wings tucked under a green poncho. Leia on one side, Han and the pathfinders ahead. Kes motioned you forward and you followed, running down the route. Ewoks ran alongside. You took out Scouttroopers as you ran.
Finally, you came up on a hill, looking overhead. In the sky, the shadow of a large moon. Not a moon, no, the Death Star, silver in the daylit sky. You stared at it for a long moment.
You took a shuddering breath, finding yourself back in the cargo hold of the Falcon, surrounded by your friends. You handed Chewie the knife back.
âItâs near Endor. Deathstar wreckage.â You said. âGet in contact with the intel guys and see if they can get us a more concrete answer, butâŠthat wayfinder is definitely there.â
âIâll send a message.â Finn nodded, walking towards your communications console.
âYou good?â Poe asked, eyes not leaving you. He sat on the box beside you and you reached for his hand as Chewie and Rey wandered off to tend to their tasks. He took your hand, fingers curling around yours and squeezing.
âBetter now.â
Poe let go of your hand, pulling you into his arms instead. He held you tight, but so, so carefully, strong arms curling around your waist, his head resting on your shoulder, pressing kisses to your neck.
âI saw your dad.â You confessed, hands tracing patterns onto his back.
âMy dad?â
âMy vision. I was on Endor. It was brief, butâŠâ You chuckled at the irony of it all. Of knowing his parents, of loving him.Â
Poe was your anchor to this time, the one redeeming thing your thirty-year skip had given you, the only thing that began to outweigh all of the things you had lost. This love, that look in his eye, the warmth that swirled between you every time you looked at each other, every time he held you in his armsâŠ
Poe was worth it. And he never would have been yours if youâd stayed.
âWhat was he doing?â
âPathfinding,â you said through a smile.
He pulled away to meet your eyes, a hand brushing down the side of your face, carefully touching the braid there before settling on your cheek. He pulled you in for a kiss, long and tender, lips moving in rhythm with your own.
Poe rested his forehead against yours, letting out a breath before confessing. âI still forget sometimes, that youâre older than me.â
âIâve been told I look pretty good for fifty-four.â You laughed softly.
âVery good.â He agreed, kissing you again, hands slipping lower, to your hips, pulling you a little closer. âVery, very good.â
Poe readjusted, deepening the kiss before Finn cleared his throat in the doorway, staring at the two of you, still somewhat in shock that you were together, had been for a while, that you were familiar with each other like this. The two of you hastily pulled apart to look at him.
âBeaumont got a hit. (Y/N) was right. Moon in the Endor system, big chunks of Death Star scattered on its surface.â Finn reported, the two of you listening intently, Poeâs arm still hovering around your waist. âOh, and Chewbacca said the landing gear is kinda fucked up.â
Poe stood from the box, helping you up after him. âHow fucked up?â
Hold Your Fire
The landing had been rough, to say the least. You and Rey broke the fall as best you could, but using the Force on a ship wasâŠmuch more difficult when you were inside said ship, headed down, down, down onto the surface of a moon in the Endor system.
The Falcon came to a skidding crash, sliding through the grass until finally, it stopped.
âEveryone okay?â Poe called, looking around, making sure no one had gotten thrown around too much. BB-8 gave him a thumbs-up with his lighter attachment.
The group started moving around the cabin, checking things. Poe read meters, checked controls. You and Rey managed to get the ramp down and you all started the hike up the hill, cresting over the top of it, towards the raging sea.
There it was, the Death Star. Or what remained of it, at the very least. You stared for a long moment, a feeling of darkness washing over you. Your eyes traced over the shape of the wreck and goosebumps pricked up all down your arms, though you werenât sure if it was from the sight or the cold winds.
âWowâŠâ Rey murmured, looking up at it. âWere you everâŠ?â
âOn it, no. Not that one. The first one, yeah. I was boots on the ground on Endor, so Luke and I could communicate with each other through the Force. Him up there, me down here.â You said.
Rey stared at the shape of the wreck, taking the dagger from her belt and sliding it along the silhouette. It lined up perfectly, a sliding gold ruler pointing to the exact spot. That was it. The spot where the wayfinder was hidden.
Horses galloped in the distance behind you. You all turned, weapons drawn. Poe held out his blaster as a group of scavengers rode their steeds towards you, stopping a safe distance away.
âRough landing.â The woman leading the pack said. She had a head of gorgeous curls, a pair of goggles tucked along the top of her face, dressed all in silken green. AlmostâŠMariposan. Almost.
âIâve seen worse.â Poe countered, a hand extended in front of you, protective, weapon still drawn.
âIâve seen better.â She said. âAre you Resistance?â
âThat depends.â Poe answered, untrusting.
Her eyes fell on you, gaze sliding down the length of your wings, and something in her gaze softened. âPrincessâŠâ
âYouâŠknow me?â
âKnow of you. We received a transmission from some Resistance Scouts, that you were looking for this place. That youâre the last hope.â
âWe need to get out to that wreck. Thereâs something inside there we need.â Rey told her.
âI can take you there by water.â
âYou seen the water?â Finn asked.
âNot now. Too dangerous. We can go first light tomorrow.â The woman said.
âWe need to go now. We donât have the time.â Rey insisted.
âOr the choice.â Poe said, turning towards her and the rest of her crew. âLetâs get that ship fixed. Do you have any parts?â
âSome. Iâm Jannah.â
âIâm Poe.â He introduced, leading the rest of you back towards the Falconâs resting place.
Rey stared back at the wreckage, lingering.
You put a hand on her arm. âTheyâre right. Weâre gonna need a way off this rock.â
She nodded, following reluctantly.
Once you got back inside the ship, Poe and the others started repairs, pulling open panels and reaching inside. He had a screwdriver held in his mouth while he worked. You noticed then, finally, that there was a wrap around his bicep. He stopped, holding his arm and hissing in pain.
âWhen did this happen?â You asked, eyes wide, pulling him away from his work.
âGot shot on the Star Destroyer. Itâs fine. Iâve had worse.â
âI know you have. Let me see.â
âWe donât have time.â
âPoe.â You said sternly. âItâll only take me a second.â
He exhaled a breath, letting you pull him from the panel, passing the screwdriver to Chewie. You stepped into a hallway, pushing him onto a box, forcing him to sit. With careful fingers, you untied the scrap of fabric.
He winced, eyes locked on you and your gentle movements. âYou should save your strength, Princess. Youâll need it.â
You shook your head, meeting his eyes as you rolled up his sleeve, the blaster hole singed into the fabric. âI need you at your best too, flyboy. I can tell it hurts.â
âYou can feel it?â
âMmhmm.â You nodded, hand hovering over the injury. âWeâre connected, you and I. When you hurt, I hurt.â
âThrough the Force? But Iâm notâŠâ
âYou donât have to be for me toâŠtune in. Iâm always tuned into you, more or less. Have been forâŠâ You chuckled. âA lot longer than weâve been seeing each other, even.â
He smiled softly at that, eyes glimmering in the dim light. A teasing smirk took up residence on his soft lips, eyebrow quirked up at your admission. âYouuuu~ had a crush on me.â
âI did. I do, actually. Is that alright with you, Commander Dameron?â
âYeah, I think Iâll let it slide, Your Highness,â he said, watching as you zoned out, taking a deep breath before pushing life energy from yourself to the blaster wound on his arm. The pain ebbed instantly, the wound fading away, replaced with new skin. He sighed, reaching for your hand, playing with your fingers in his. âYou areâŠsomethinâ else, you know that?â
âSo youâve said.â You grinned, pressing a kiss to his lips, a quick one. He leaned in after you pulled away, lips chasing yours. You smirked at him. âWho has the crush now?â
âOh, Princess, Iâve always had a crush on youâŠâ He murmured. Poe touched his arm, squeezing the spot clinically, but there was no pain there, just smooth skin in place of the gaping wound that had been causing him so much pain for the last few hours.
âBack to work?â
âYeah.â Poe nodded, walking back over to the panel heâd been working on, where Chewie had all but wrapped it up.
BB-8 rolled up the ramp and into the ship, beeping at Poe, telling him he couldnât find Rey.
âWhat do you mean you havenât seen her?â
You knew immediately what that meant. You raced down the ramp, out into the grass, using your wings to flit up the hill, watching as Rey took a skimmer onto the raging waters, struggling to get past each wave.
âREY!â You called out to her, but your words were swallowed up by the winds. âFuck.â
âWe have to go after her.â Finn said once he and Poe caught up, Jannah just behind them on her horse. âCan you fly across?â
âOn wind like this, no way, pal.â Poe said, arms crossed, hand grabbing your hip like he was afraid youâd try. âHer wings arenât made for a gap like this.â
âIâd be a fly on a windshield. OrâŠsharp rocks, in this case.â You said, looking down at the jagged shore beneath you.
âI need to get over there.â Finn said, determined.
You shook your head. âNo, we canât.â You watched as Kyloâs TIE Fighter landed on the wreckage, your stomach sinking. âOh, thatâs just great.â
âWe have to go help her!â Finn said again.
âWe canât! Whatever sheâs meant to do out thereâŠâ You reached, the Force calling to you. This was it. Her final stand against him. Whatever was going to happen out there, she needed to do it alone. âThis is her fight. Her and Kylo.â
Finn let out a frustrated sigh, meeting your eyes. You knew he could feel it, too. You were right. They needed to get through this themselves. There was no way for you to get across the gap anyway.
And so, you waited.
You watched as red and blue clashed, watching, feeling, reaching through the Force, trying to feel exactly what was going on out there.
The TIE fighter took off. Then, the skimmer came back. You reached for your saber when you saw who it was coming out of it. It wasnât Rey in the skimmer. It was Kylo.
Poe raised his blaster as soon as he saw him, Finn reaching for his saber as well.Â
Kylo approached slowly. HeâŠdidnât have his saber, you realized. You stared at him with wide eyes as he pulled himself up the cliff, looking at all of you with vulnerable eyes, a saber hole in his black tunic.
Rey had healed him, you realized, eyebrows furrowing.
You looked him over, eyes sweeping and critical, and put a hand on Poeâs blaster, lowering it.
âHold your fire.â You said, voice quiet, eyes still locked on Kyloâs dark, looming figure.
âHold myâBaby, thatâs Kylo Ren!â
You looked back at Poe, daring to take your eyes off of the former Sith for a few moments. His expression softened once he saw yours. You werenât worried at all. Not a hint of fear in those eyes. He trusted you, and if you thought it was okay, then maybeâŠ
âBen, right?â You asked, turning back to look at him.
He smiled, tentative and unsure, eyes searching each of you for malice, for distrust. There was none. At least, not in your eyes. Finn and Poe looked like they still needed to be convinced. âBen. BenâŠSolo.â
You searched him for the heavy darkness that had burdened his soul for so long, but came up empty. Whatever had happened out there, with Rey, had left him changed. Had healed him in more ways than one.
âIs Rey okay?â Finn asked, gaze hardened.
Ben nodded. âTook my TIE Fighter. Intends to go to Exegol alone. I can help you get in touch with her, breach its communications.â
You nodded. âAlright. YouâŠyou can come with us, butâŠdonât be surprised if some of the folks on base donât take too kindly to the sight of you. Weâll have to warn them youâre coming so they donâtâŠshoot you on sight.â
He scoffed, nodding in agreement. âI donât think I could blame them for that after everything. ButâŠI owe you all. I want to help, before itâs too late.â
March of the Resistance
The trip back to Ajan Kloss wasâŠtense. Ben sat at the sabacc table, staring at the checkered tiles. Poe and Chewbacca were in the cockpit, piloting you all back to safety. Finn stood with you against the wall, watching Ben, waiting for him to say something.
Youâd already spoken to Leia, warned her. Sheâd felt it, though. She knew you were bringing her son back to her.
He searched you, you could felt him poking around your energy with the Force, bristling slightly.
âSorry. Force of habit.â He retracted immediately, staring at his hands, shaking with worry.
âItâsâŠalright. You can ask if you have questions.â
âYou knew my father.â He blurted, eyes meeting yours. âMy mother. YouâreâŠthey took me to your grave when I was young. YourâŠpod.â
âMy podâŠâ You agreed, nodding slowly. âI did know them. I was good friends with them. Your mother was my best friend. Basically a sister to me. In another life, I would have been your aunt.â
He nodded, listening. He swallowed the lump in his throat, eyes glossy. âIâm sorry.â
âI know.â You told him, voice gentle and sincere. You let out a sigh. âBut Iâm not the only one youâre going to need to apologize to.â
Ben nodded, solemn. He didnât reply after that.
Finn watched the interaction with guarded eyes. You couldnât imagine how he was feeling now, a former Stormtrooper standing in front of Kylo Ren. Redeemed or not, there had to be a lot going on in his head. You put a hand on Finnâs arm, heading towards the cockpit.
âHow is heâŠ?â Poe murmured, looking back to meet your eyes.
âNot hellbent on murderous destruction anymore. Any hits from Rey?â
âYeah, sheâs headed back, too. Sheâll beat us there by a handful of minutes.â Poe said.Â
He reached for your hand and you gave it to him, letting him squeeze it for comfort. You were both okay, for now. But the final fight was coming. Like a tidal wave headed straight for the beach.
***
You landed in pandemonium, people rushing every which way around the base. Rey had beat you there, and was waiting when the Falcon landed, a little worse for wear, but fine otherwise.
Finn walked out of the ship first, hugging Rey tightly, the two of them talking to each other about something. You and Poe walked out next. The gathered Resistance members waiting in bated breath until, finally, Ben walked out, dressed all in black, saber-less. They all murmured, watching his every move.
As odd as it was, it was kind of nice to have them whisper about someone else for a change.
Leia stepped forward, slow, tentative. She hadnât seen him in person inâŠyears. From a distance, sure, but not face to face like this. The tension was palpable, the Force hanging between them nearly enough to throw you from your feet.
Poe put a hand on your arm, watching as Kylo Ren himself fell to his knees in front of his mother, tears streaming from his eyes. She knelt beside him, the two of them murmuring to each other, reconciling. It felt wrong to watch, so you stepped away, helping the others round up equipment.
Not long after, a meeting was called in the hangar, the whole Resistance gathered around to listen to the intel from Ben. He had been on Exegol, talked to the Emperor. He knew what was waiting for you there, where you all had to go, what had to be done to stop Palpatine once and for all.
You felt that sinking feeling in your chest, the one youâd gotten before the fight with Insidia. You tried to shake it off, but you knew what it meant. YouâŠmight not make it out of this one.
Poe and Finn pitched their plan to the others, discussing the ground attack on the Star Destroyers, the plot to block their communications, prevent them from taking off.
âWe have friends out there. Theyâll come if they know thereâs hope.â Poe insisted, fire in his eyes, a hand resting on his belt. âThe First Order wins by making us think weâre alone.â He met your eyes. âBut weâre not alone. Good people will fight if we lead them.â
You nodded, listening to the rest of their speech, Finn and Poe, calling the shots. It was nice. Your boys. Following in the footsteps of those before you. Poe caught your gaze, tilting his head as if to say âyour turn.â
You took a breath, gathering your thoughts. You had many. You squeezed Reyâs hand, which had been in yours for the last several minutes, Soren standing on your other side, Laesynda beside him. Your family. Your growing pack of Jedi.
âI didnât expect to survive the first war. A lot of us didnât. Good people gave their lives for this cause. Thirty years ago, mere months agoâŠWe have been fighting this battle for a generation. I only got a taste of that peace. Two years of it. Iâve seen it andâŠI know the end. I didnât expect to disappear, to come back in the midst of another war. ButâŠI am honored to stand among you, my brothers and sisters, my nephewâŠto call you my family and fight by your side. I am with you to the bitter end. We will end this war, bring peace to the galaxy, destroy Palpatine, permanently this time. I want each and every single one of you to live in that peace, to plant the seeds of your new lives, and watch them grow in a world free of the First Orderâs tyranny. May the Force be with each of you today.â
âAnd with us all.â Laesynda finished, her hand on your shoulder, a proud look in her eye. The group dismissed, heading their separate directions, running and working in tandem to prepare for the fight ahead.
You turned to your Jedi. Your team. Rey, Finn, SorenâŠBen.
âIâm going with ground support.â Finn said. âThey need me.â
âI know they do. And theyâre lucky to have you.â You said, nodding. âSoren?â
âStay here?â He asked, expecting the same answer from his Jedi Master, but instead, you shook your head.
âNope. Youâre coming with us. Youâre ready now. I know you are. Youâve got us with you. We need you now more than ever.â You smiled, gently. âMy Padawan.â
He nodded, determined, eyes sparkling with that Rebel moxie. He was your blood after all.
âIâll meet you all at the Falcon. Weâre wheels-up in thirty.â
Rey and Ben nodded, looking at each other, at your nephew. You left them for a moment, looking for Laesynda, who was face to face with a man around her age, maybe a hair older. He had Sorenâs nose. Ah, your brother-in-law. Heâd finally come around, right when you all needed him most.
Youâd meet up with her in a few minutes, then.
You watched as the pilots ran around, dusting off their ships, tossing helmets to each other, mechanics rushing to get everything set for takeoff. You watched as Aspen ran past, her black hair in a braid. Snap, Jessika, KarĂ©, running past, towards the hangar where Black Squadronâs X-Wings were.
BB-8 bumped into your leg, bobbling slightly as he looked up at you, telling you Poe was in the hangar, getting ready for take-off.
âHow soon?â
He replied that it would be about fifteen minutes. You nodded, thinking.
âCan you record something for me, Bee? Something important?â
He nodded, rolling off somewhere private with you.Â
You knelt down to his level and sighed, preparing yet another speech. âHey, flyboy. Itâs uh, itâs me. If youâre seeing thisâŠsomething bad happened to me on Exegol. And IâmâŠreally sorry. For everything. For all of it. For leaving you. I know you donât go throwing the L word around, and thatâs okay, butâŠI love you, too, for the record. I heard what you said on Pasaana. Iâve felt it at the edges of your mind. I love you, too. I have forâŠa long time. Youâre leaving soon, so Iâm going to go say goodbye to you for real. ButâŠI wanted you to have this, too, just in case. EveryâŠevery moment Iâve been by your side has been a moment well spent, and I wouldnât trade a single one for all the credits in the galaxy. I hope youâreâŠsafe and happy and well. I hope you live to be super, super old, all wrinkly and gray, and reminisce on the good old days, when you used to hang out with a princess. And if I donât make it, I want you to fall in love again. To find someone else to give your heart to. I could never be mad at you for that.â
You paused, closing your eyes as you gazed into BB-8âs camera. âI love you, Poe Dameron. I hope you have a really great, peaceful life with this little droid by your side.â
BB-8 beeped at you, telling you that he was not, in fact, little, and you laughed a little, standing up and brusing yourself off.
âI know, I know. Now letâs go find him. I gotta say goodbye.â
You walked to the hangar beside BB-8 as he rolled along. Poe was looking around, somewhat frantic until he saw his little droid, you accompanying him, your strides long and graceful, wings drifting behind you magnificently.
âMmmm, I do love that flight suit, flyboy.â You said, eyes roaming his figure in the orange fabric.
âThere you are, Princess, I was getting ready for wheels-up in here and I couldnât find my girl or my droid.â He put his hands on your arms, looking you over. âYou okay? How you feeling?â
You nodded, meeting his eyes, bravery blossoming in your chest. âGood. Iâm good. How are you, Commander?â
âReady to get this shit over with.â He let out a tired breath, hands wandering from your arms to your hips, pulling you into his chest. âWeâre gonna be okay, alright? You and I? Iâll see you after. Right here. Donât be late.â
âWouldnât dream of it.â You said, voice soft, so much hidden in your words. âYou be careful out there. Come back to me in one piece.â
He pulled away to look at you, smirking as his lips flicked down to your lips. âOf course, your Highness.â
He surged forward and kissed you, a long, passionate, earth-shattering kiss, tongue rolling over yours, arms tight around your waist. And then he pulled away, meeting your eyes again.
You stood there for a long moment, his arms around you. Your fingers drifted down to the healerâs pendant, glimmering in the dim light. He grabbed your hand, eyes searching yours, eyebrows knitted together, the heat palpable. The tension. The fear.
You pressed one last, quick kiss to his lips and turned to leave, glancing back at him. âSee you later, Poe.â
As you took a few steps towards the edge of the hangar, he called out for you. âHey, wait! IâŠâ
You met his eyes, heart racing. You could feel it again, at the edge of his mind, the tip of his tongue.
He licked his lips. Swallowed. Then said, âI love you.â
Your jaw dropped, hand rising to your face as you let out a gasp. Heâd said it. Heâd actually kriffinâ said it.
âP-PoeâŠâ
âI love you, (Y/N). Iâm sorry I didnât say it sooner.â
You ran back into his arms with new fervor, kissing his lips like it was the last thing youâd ever do. He laughed into your mouth, tears welling in his eyes as he looked you over, searching your face, your eyes, almost wondering if heâd actually said it out loud this time.
You smiled, reaching up to readjust his curls. âI love you, too.â
He couldnât keep the grin off of his face as he asked, âYouâre not just sayinâ that?â
âNo, I mean it. IâŠI love you, Poe Dameron. Donât get yourself blown up out there.â
He chuckled, kissing you one last time. âIâll try, sweetheart.â
Eyes on the Jedi
You stood in the Falcon, watching as Chewie and Lando piloted. Like old times. You shook with every movement, watching out the windshield, dread growing in your stomach. First, you all would go distract Palpatine. Then, the fleet would come, taking on the army of Star Destroyers.
You had an earpiece in your ear, listening as the pilots spoke to each other. Listening to Poeâs voice as much as you could stomach to.
âBlack Leader to Falcon, how are we looking, General Calrissian?â
âSmooth and steady, Black Leader. The Jedi are ready.â
âHowâs the Princess?â
Lando glanced back at you, chuckling softly. âPrincess is good.â
âGood, good, glad to hear it. Let us know once you drop them off.â Poe said, voice walking that line between professional and concerned.
âWill do, Commander.â
You looked to the others, putting a hand on Sorenâs arm, wings tensing. He looked nervous, sure, butâŠhe also looked determined. Brave. Ready for the fight that lied ahead, no matter how terrifying.
Finally, Lando pulled the Falcon up to the mouth of the cave. A strange swirl of nostalgia fluttered around your heart as you looked at it, a sinking, bitter feeling in your core. Insidiaâs laugh echoed across your mind one last time. Lukeâs voice pushed it out.
Iâm with you, Princess. Then and now. Youâre not alone.
You nodded, eyes closing. You werenât alone. You had Rey. Soren. Ben. Finn was out there, too. Poe. Lando and Chewie. Leia. You had friends and allies, new and old, standing with you as you stepped off of the Falcon and into immediate danger, saber igniting, lighting the dark with magenta.
Soren lit his saber as well, standing by your side, an extension of yourself in more ways than one. Your Padawan, your nephew, wielding your original saber, the one you had been wielding on your last day of your old life. The one he and mother had journeyed so far to find.
Rey and Ben led the way, Ben more familiar with this place since he had been there. You could feel the energy already, dark and all-consuming. A cacophonous choir of voices echoing off the walls, chanting. Cultists, you realized. Perhaps some of the same souls Insidia had rallied with the first time.
Among them, the Knights of Ren.
You shivered, finally getting a good look at them. Youâd never seen them all face to face, orâŠface to mask, but they were here, looming like shadows, weapons giving off an eerie, unsettling red light.
You looked to Rey and Ben, telling them silently to move forward, that you and Soren would handle these guys. They nodded, running off while you and Soren launched into battle, swinging your sabers against the onslaught of weapons. There were six of them, two of you, but youâd trained him well, and had been training yourself. Your movements were graceful and precise, quick and fluid, using your wings in tandem with your body, using them to get leverage.
You rotated around Soren, working together, defending each other, attacking the knights as a unit. Nephew and Aunt. Pawadan and Jedi, like all those who had come before you.
You leaped over Soren, tucking your legs in for more momentum as you crashed down onto the last knight, slashing through his armor with one final blow.
Breathing heavy, you looked to Soren, searching him for any sign of injury. There was none. He was fine. He gave you a soft, reassuring smile and you nodded, leading him back to the chamber where Palpatine was, a cult of hooded figures around the edge of the large room.
He had Ben and Rey in a chokehold of Force energy, sapping them with his withered hands, draining the very life from them.
âNO!â You roared, hands thrown forward. A wave of invisible energy crashed into him, shocking him long enough to drop them onto the cold stone ground.
âAhâŠI was wondering when youâd show up, Princess. How kind of you to join usâŠyour original, letâs sayâŠsacrifice, was enough to revive me in the first place. Insidia gave her life. You gave yours. Two lives to restore the one, true Emperor.â
âShe tried, but she couldnât kill me.â You said, helping Rey to her feet, Ben.
âWhich is why it is a half-life I live. But not for longâŠâ
He reached forward, trying to drain the life from you next, but you stood strong, blocking him. You heard the sounds of ships overhead, out above the caveâs opening. Explosions. The sound of X-Wings crashing, ships being destroyed. Star Destroyers blasting.
âYour love makes you weak.â Palpatine scolded, energy scathing the edges of yours, finally reaching. Taking. You dropped to your knees as the power flowed from you, a horrible numbness eating at the ends of your limbs, tingling in your fingers and toes.
â(Y/N)!â Rey called out as you sprawled to the floor.
Palpatine stopped, his withered flesh repairing itself from your energy. He let out a triumphant laugh, reaching up towards the sky, lightning flying from his fingertips, up at the Resistance ships.
At Poe.
Everything ached, chest burning. You had to get up. You knew you had to. But you just didnât have the strength. Ben and Soren swung at Palpatine, but he threw them back as though they were weightless.
â(Y/N), please. I canâtâŠâ Rey said, broken. âI canât do this alone.â
âYouâre not alone.â Lukeâs voice said as his Force Ghost appeared beside the both of you.
âHelp you, we will.â Yoda added, appearing beside Luke. Then Obi-Wan, who met your eyes with a wink. AnakinâŠAll the great Jedi of old, gathered around you. The light rising to meet the dark.
âGet up, Princess. Thatâs not a request.â Luke goaded, lending you his strength. His face shifted to his younger form, the way heâd looked the last time youâd fought side by side.
âYou sound like Han.â You grumbled, scraping yourself off of the cold, hard ground, warmth returning to your fingers. You ignited your saber, Soren and Ben returning to the fight alongside the army of spirits summoned by the Force. The light of the Jedi, the dark of the Sith, colliding one last time as Palpatineâs cultists flooded the arena.
It was all out war. Sabers slinging every which way, light bouncing off of the walls, Palpatineâs lightning coming to a stop as he was rushed by an onslaught of Jedi, his cultists dropping off one by one, dispatched quickly. It seemed he had sapped their strength, too, using their loyalty to make himself stronger. He hadnât changed in the slightest.
Palpatine shot lightning at you, but Soren locked sabers with you, both of you pushing the lightning back onto him, weakening him just enough.
Rey and Ben united, using their combined power to drain the Emperor, dispersing the energy back into the Force, to restore balance.
âItâsâŠimpossibleâŠâ He groaned, thrashing about as they took it back from him, every last ounce of stolen power.
âNo. Itâs not.â You said, standing with the two of them, helping them finish the job, draining and draining and draining until there was nothing left. Not even a body. Dissolved entirely into the Force.
There was a great rush of power after, an explosion of it, rushing out of the cave. You looked up to find Star Destroyers nose-diving out of the sky. The four of you shared a moment of relief, the rush of victory, as the Force Ghosts dissipated around you once more.
You met Lukeâs eyes, a promise. You didnât need him anymore. But someday, if you ever did, you knew heâd be there for you. Then, he vanished, too.
Rey called for Lando, hoping the Falcon was okay, but all you could think about was Poe. At some point, your earpiece had fallen out. You had no way to check on him, other than looking up, reaching with the Force. You were nearly too frazzled to find his energy up there, butâŠit was. You breathed in relief. He was okay.
The Falcon swept down to get you as the cave started to rumble, unstable from the blast of energy. You all climbed on board, the rest of the ground crew was there. Rey rushed to Finn, hugging him tightly. You met up with Jannah, nodding at her and acknowledging the rest of them before sliding into the cockpit, putting on a headset just in time to catch:
âDo we have any eyes on the Jedi? That cave is gonna blow.â Poe said, voice a little pitchy over the comms.
âJust Finn, Commander.â One of the other pilots said before you could interject. âHeâs on board the Falcon.â
Poe swallowed, voice getting thicker. âThis is Black Leader. I repeat, do we have any eyes on the Princess and the rest of the Jedi?â
You lowered the microphone, tapping into the comms. âReading you loud and clear, Black Leader. The Princess and the rest of the Jedi are on board the Falcon, headed home.â
You heard the way his voice hitched, the relieved little sob that left his mouth. He cleared his throat, trying to sound professional as he replied, âG-Glad to hear it. Weâll see you at home, Princess.â
Lando smiled at you, steering the Falcon away from the cave and into hyperspace, into safety. âYou two remind me a whole lot of people we know.â
âI know.â You chuckled. âA pilot and a princess, who would have thought?â
âYouâre good together. When I saw you at the gala together that night, I thought you were definitely already together. That look in his eyeâŠwatching you use that Princess super-power of yours up close.â Lando confessed, eyes glimmering. âHeâs good for you. Enjoy it.â
âOh, I will. This timeâŠIâm not going anywhere.â
The Pilot, the Prince
The Falcon came down smoothly at the edge of camp. Vehicles touched down left and right, Resistance members rushing out of them and into each otherâs arms, celebrating a victory hard-won. You counted heads, looked for faces.
Aspen. Beaumont. Some of the rookies. No Black Squadron yet.
You kept searching faces, counting heads. Soren ran to Laesynda and the man you assumed was her husband. Beside him, your droid. Radia. SheâdâŠbeen with him all along.
You looked for Poeâs X-Wing, but didnât see it yet, so while the others on the Falcon dispersed, you ran to your sister, holding her in your arms, burying your face in her shoulder. She laughed, smiling brightly, pulling away to look at you and Soren. Both had returned to her. Both were fine. You could feel her settle as the weight of the galaxy eased off of her shoulders.
â(Y/N)...this is my husband. Marc. Marc, this is my sister.â
He offered his hand. He had dark brown hair, a dark beard, kind eyes. He was wearing a leather jacket and gloves, a blaster holstered to his belt. âPleasure to finally meet you, Princess. Thank you for taking care of our son.â
âOf course. Itâs nice to meet you, too. IâŠyouâŠâ You glanced down at Radia, who was beeping and whirring excitedly.
âI borrowed her. Hope you donât mind. Sheâs a great companion.â
You knelt down, wrapping your arms around your old friend, resting your head against the cool metal of her panels. She had been painted a little, it seemed, but kept up well.
âThank you. For taking care of her.â You told Laesynda, meeting her eyes, then Marcâs. âI thought Iâd never see her again.â
âIâd never let anything happen to her.â Laesynda promised. âShe carries all our memories with her. All of my memories of you. I could never part with those.â
âWell, now,â you smiled, âwe get to make new ones.â
The X-Wings finally arrived, the people on the ground erupting into cheers. You locked eyes on Poeâs X-Wing, on BB-8 in his compartment in the back, wobbling as he looked around, took it all in. The top of the cockpit popped open and Poe began to climb out.
âI gotta go.â
âGo get him, Princess.â Laesynda encouraged, warmth in her eyes.
You took off, fluttering your wings before flying right over, past the celebrating Rebels, straight into Poeâs waiting arms, the force of it nearly enough to tackle him to the grass.
He laughed, spinning you around and around, peppering kisses all over your face before finally setting you in front of him, eyes softening as he took you in. His Jedi. His Princess. Alive and unharmed.
Your hand rose to his cheek, thumb smoothing over his skin, the other adjusting his curls, mussed up from his helmet.
âHey.â He murmured.
âHey yourself.â You replied, leaning up to press a tender kiss to his lips. He reciprocated immediately, hands securing themselves around your waist, tugging you closer to him as he deepened the kiss, tongue rolling into your mouth. You melted against him, breath hitching at his touch.
âThought I lost you there for a secondâŠâ He confessed, nose brushing yours as he tucked a piece of hair behind your ear. âThat lightningâŠI thoughtâŠI feltâŠâ
âI know.â You nodded, kissing him again, featherlight. âBut Iâm okay. We all are.â
âI love you.â He said again, breaths ragged, holding you close, a hand cradling your head. âI love you so much, baby.â
âI love you, too.â You whispered, kissing his cheek, just in front of his ear. âMy daring pilot.â
âYour trigger-happy flyboy.â
âWouldnât have him any other way.â You said, finally pulling away enough to let Rey and Finn into your circle. The four of you held each other, heads leaning together, arms around each other as you let the peace settle. The weight of the galaxy finally easing up off of your shoulders.
***
It only made sense that after a victory like that would come a party.
Poe mingled with just about every person on the base, congratulating people, shaking hands, flashing that prettyboy smile. He glanced back at you every handful of minutes, monitoring. You were sitting with Leia and Lando and Chewie, the last remaining members of your original group, enjoying the sounds of celebration.
âYou were hungover for four days after the last war.â Leia recalled, laughing as she sipped from her glass.
âOh I remember. OrâŠdonât remember. I guess thatâs the whole point.â You chuckled. âThose little teddy bears knew how to party.â
Lando laughed at that. âSo did you, Princess.â
âAlright, alright.â You chuckled. âI had a reputation for a reason.â
A few people came up to you, offering congratulations and well-wishes. You spoke with them, wishing them the best of luck, wherever they were headed.
Eventually, Poe wandered back to you, sitting on the log beside you. He took your hand in his, intertwining your fingers. Gently, he pulled your hand to his lips, kissing the back of it, the fire twinkling in his warm eyes.
âCan I talk to you about something? Alone?â
You smiled, following him away from the heat and noise of the party and out into the cool night air. Your clearing. Your meditating spot. It wasâŠlit with strings of lights, glowing and warm. Someone had come out there and decorated it.
âWhatâs all thisâŠ?â
âCalled in some favors.â Poe admitted, letting out a nervous chuckle. âI hope you donât mind. I guess I should have asked firstâŠâ
âNo, itâsâŠbeautiful, Poe.â You reassured him, giving his hand a squeeze.
âI, uhâŠguess weâve never really talked about what happens now. BetweenâŠus. What are your plans, now that itâs all over?â
âPlans?â You thought, eyes drifting over the lights. âLaesynda and I have discussed going back to Mariposas. Rebuilding. There are a lot of folks displaced from this war, Iâd like to give them a place where they can be safe. Besides, I think Rey and I should probably start up a Jedi Temple. There are a few spots there that would be perfect for one. ThatâsâŠthose are my plans. What are yours?â
âSo, actually, about thatâŠI was wondering if, uhâŠâ He took a breath, those dark eyelashes fluttering shut, brows furrowing.
You waited, head tilting as he found his words. âIfâŠ?â
âItâs okay if you say no.â He prefaced, a hand out in warning, the other in his pocket.
âCanât say no if you never ask, flyboy.â
Poe stared at you. He took a step closer, a hand settling on your hip, met your eyes⊠âIâŠwas wondering ifâŠyouâd marry me, (Y/N).â
Your jaw dropped, heart pounding, searching his eyes for the edges of the joke, butâŠit wasnât. It wasnât a joke to him. He was serious.
His hand emerged from his pocket, his motherâs ring taken off the chain heâd worn it on for so long, pinched carefully between his fingers as he waited. After a long moment, he hesitated, eyes falling to the ground, doubt swirling. âItâs too soon, isnât it? Itâs okay, I justââ
âPoe.â You said, drawing his attention back to you, eyes watering. âYouâdâŠyouâd be a prince, you know. Thereâs a lot of responsibility that comes with that. Rebuilding a planet.â
âYeah, wellâŠmy schedule just cleared up, soâŠâ He said, still tense, but that humor of his starting to peek through again.
âYouâre serious.â
âNever been more serious about anything in my life.â
You let out a shudder of a sigh, reaching forward and taking his face in your hands. Kissing him passionately, a hand buried in his curls, the other fondly caressing the scar on his cheekbone.
âIs that a yes?â
âYes, Poe Dameron. IâŠYes.â
He took your hand in his, gingerly sliding the ring onto your finger, pretending to be surprised that it fit perfectly, like he hadnât been putting it on you while you were sleeping. âPerfect fit.â
âYeah, it is.â You nodded, pulling him by the collar of his shirt into another kiss, the ring gleaming on your finger under the warm lights. This time, he kissed back, hungrily, mouth devouring your own, hands firm on your tips, pulling you against him. You melted against his touch, letting a quiet moan into his mouth as his fingertips skimmed the smooth tissue of your wing.
He pulled away, resting his forehead against yours, breaths ragged, eyes searching your face. âI, uhâŠBee showed me your video. When it was bad out there. The lightningâŠâ
âOh. Poe. Iâm sorry.â
âDonât be. He thought I was gonna die, soâŠI justâŠyou meant it, huh? You thought you wouldnâtâŠâ
âYeah.â You admitted. âBeing a Jedi isnât exactly a stable gig. Neither is being a pilot. Just wanted toâŠcover my bases.â
He nodded, hands on your waist, thumbs rubbing circles into your hipbones. âI do disagree with you on one thing.â
âOh, do you?â
âYeah. IâŠIâm never gonna fall in love again after you. Youâre it for me. Iâm gonna love you until the day I die. Ideally, with you by my side, butâŠâ
You closed your eyes, smiling gently, a bittersweet kind of love settling over your soul. âI just want you to be happy.â
âAnd I will be. With you.â He tugged you closer, pressing a long kiss to your cheek. âI had him put a little something together for you, too. If you wanna watch it now, orâŠlater?â
âNow works.â
BB-8 rolled out of the bushes, whirring in congratulations.
You laughed. âThank you!â
He rolled back a little, leaning up to project a video above him. What unfolded was a series of memories.
Poe and the others arriving on Mariposas to get you, Poe turning the medallion over in his hand.
âWhat if it doesnât work?â Finn wondered.
âItâll work. SheâsâŠwaited long enough.â Poe knelt down, pressing the medallion into the compartment of the healing pod. âI didnât expect her to be soâŠâ
âBeautifulâŠâ Rey murmured, nodding.
âAnd youngâŠâ Poe said, watching as the amulet began to glow, the glass of the pod retracting shakily. They all waited in bated breath for you to wake up.
Eventually, the projection of you opened her eyes and you watched how youâd met them all, tired and confused, mistaking them for your old friends. Little had you known then just how much they would all mean to you.
After, BB-8 played a medley of each of the moments heâd captured, borrowed from other droids. The two of you building your lightsaber, him touching your wings for the first time, the way you reunited after battles and missions, the way you flirted around eachother, dancing circles around each other until finally colliding that fateful night at the gala. The way you flew over the base to get to him when he was injured. All the loving touches and gazes that came after, playfully hiding your relationship from your colleagues. Your victory kiss.
A montage of your love, all laid out for you nicely.
Fireworks boomed in the distance, the rebels out by the base finally getting into supplies you wouldnât need now that the war was over.
You curled against his chest, swaying in the night, beneath the glittering lights.
âI canât wait to make a million more, baby.â He murmured, pressing his lips to your forehead. âI love you so goddamn much. Feels like itâs killing me sometimes.â
âI think thatâs how itâs supposed to feel.â You kissed his cheek, then his lips. âI would know. Iâve loved you for a good, long time, Poe Dameron andâŠIâm gonna love you for the rest of my life.â
âDonât you forget it.â
Epilogue
Months had passed. You had been boots on the ground on Mariposas, helping rebuild the tatters of your broken home. You started with the palace, a nice centralized building so everyone could be housed close together, but as more refugees arrived, you were sure youâd have the help youâd need to build the nearest village back up.
Rey and Finn had taken a journey to round up more Force Sensitives, the return of the Jedi, as it were. When they found them, everything would be ready. The Force would finally find balance again.
âHey, baby, Laesynda found this in your fatherâs room. Said to bring it to you.â Poe said, stepping over some rubble on his way over to you, a small wooden box in his calloused hands. You werenât married yet, still engaged and taking it one day at a time. There was a lot of work to be done before youâd feel settled enough for a wedding.
âLet me seeâŠâ You held it, brushing thirty years of dust from the lid before opening it slowly. Inside was one of your fatherâs rings. A gold band, a strip of purple gemstones through the center. On the inside was engraved a butterfly, the symbol of your people. âOhâŠâ
âItâs beautiful.â Poe said softly.
âIt was Dadâs.â You confirmed, plucking it from its velvet casing. âTold her I was looking for it.â
âFor what, your Highness?â He asked, voice featherlight as you took his hand, spreading his fingers.
âThis.â You slid it onto his ring finger, searching his eyes. âI know we still have a lot to do before the wedding butâŠwhen all of the people get here, IâŠwant them to know youâre mine.â
âPossessive little Princess, arenât you? Donât want your new subjects to get too carried away?â
âNot with my pilot.â You murmured, pressing a kiss to his lips. âBesides, itâs a Mariposan thing. I was supposed to propose to you, not the other way around.â
âSee, I did know that, I justâŠcouldnât help myself.â He grinned, hand resting on your waist as he kissed you, the ring gleaming against his finger. âIâm a little impulsive.â
âI know.â
You heard a ship landing outside and rushed out with him to find the Millennium Falcon landing. Chewie emerged with Finn, Rey, andâŠJannah? One of the defected Stormtroopers who had helped you all on the moon in the Endor system.
âJannah! Hey!â You waved excitedly, rushing over to meet them, Poe following close behind.
âYour HighnessâŠâ She said, looking at you with a sparkle of insecurity in her eyes. âIâd be honored to train with you, if youâd have me.â
âWelcome aboard.â You replied, putting a hand on her arm, warmth in your eyes. âItâs not much yet, weâre still rebuilding, but, weâre getting there.â
âDay by day.â Finn said, smiling proudly. He was still wielding Lukeâs green saber, and wielding it well.
In the months that had passed, however, Rey and Soren had crafted their own sabers. Reyâs was a dual blade. It made sense for her, with her experience with a staff, a brilliant yellow color. One you had never seen in a saber. Sorenâs had taken on a lighter color, cyan, somewhere between green and blue. It suited him. Fresh, just like your nephew.
This left your legacy saber wielderless. You kept it with you, in case danger arose. Two sabers readily at your disposal, butâŠyou had a feeling Jannah wouldnât look so bad holding it. Maybe this was how it was meant to be. Time would tell.
The pieces hadnât magically fallen into place the minute the war had ended. Nor had you expected them to. Healing took time, lots of it. But you had a growing family there. People you could count on. People looking for a home, for a leader. A leader you hoped they would find in Laesynda, in yourself. Your brother had shattered the kingdom at his feet, but together, you hoped, you would find a way to recover. A way to more forward. To heal the past as you marched towards the future.
âWeâll get there.â Poe said, confident. Sure of it. You loved that about him.
âWe will. All of us. Together.â
In the distance, Soren and Ben trained, flitting from branch to branch of the healing Monarch Tree, the crowned jewel of your home planet.
And for the first time in thirty years, it was finally beginning to bloom.
THE END.

out of curiosity, why do you not like zelink anymore? it never really appealed to me but I keep seeing art of it and I don't really feel the chemistry haha
HMMM well I still like it in some regards!
as kid I was almost exclusively a fan of OoT zelink. Like DIE HARD. Like it was my whole personality. I liked Link & Tetra a lot too, their dynamic is GREAT but I didnât draw them as much. I wasnât interested in TP zelink and I remember telling myself it was because âthe designs are too hard for me to draw Iâm only 9â and not that they had literally no chemistry đ
Itâs kinda wild cause I was already deep in the zelink trenches when skyward sword came out, but for some reason that game didnât appeal to me at all??? idk if it was cause the game just wasnât as fun to play, or if the designs put me off. It just didnât hold my interest.
By the time botw rolled out in 2017, I was already identifying as aroace (<- spoiler I was actually a repressed lesbian) and had long gotten over zelink being the âdefaultâ.
Even my beloved oot zelink felt less realistic to meâ I know itâs fiction and you can do whatever you want, but generally princesses donât marry random knights (in child timeline, no one remembers Linkâs heroism, so to everyone else he really would just be some random knight). Iâve come to appreciate oot zelink for its potential tragedy and complexity, with childhood friends-to-lovers, who are literal soulmates that share memories of war no one else in their world knows of, but for political reasons cannot be together. Their relationship would be messy and secret and bittersweet. Link wouldnât even have anywhere else to go, since he no longer belongs with the kokiri. He canonically dies as a royal guard. He had children (TP Link is part of his bloodline) but he presumably died before they were old enough for him to teach them his swordsman techniques.
So far, botw zelink is one of my least favorite zelinks đ Iâm sorry I just donât see it!! Which is INSANE because itâs by far been the most popular zelink in the past 15 years Iâve been in online fandoms for it. At most itâs unrequited and at least theyâre both gay. To be fair I never actually beat calamity ganon đ€Ą IâM GONNA DO THAT THIS WEEKEND SHHH and have managed to stay mostly unspoiled about botwâs ending, but I really donât think,, that that alone will be enough to convince me. Idk. Maybe Iâll change my mind. Maybe totk will do it for me.

Iâve only been in the LU fandom for a few weeks, but I am APPALLED that my bestest blorbos (Four and Warriors) is known for being the least favorite??? Like bro???
LIKE COME ON MAN, Four can literally multiply and Warriors comes with blue fingerless gloves, what other style points are yâall lookinâ for???
sure sure, wild angst and twilight-time ancestor trauma yada yada, what about Warriors being in, ahem, a war??? Knowing Time as a CHILD???? And just in case yâall didnât realize, Four is SUCH a theater kid. Look at his games!!! He literally made everything in his quest more complicated for shits and giggles (/respect points honestly)
they deserve better đ€đ€đ€
Yours truly, a dedicated Warriors and Four fan.
for what itâs worth, I SERIOUSLY think Four HAS to be in the top favorite Links. I see people talking about him all the time. And seeing him so disliked in that poll was a serious shock because it seriously seems like heâs well liked. There was another poll floating around this past week and when I saw it last Four was in the top 3 favorites. Maybe he doesnât have a lot of fics (I wouldnât know), but I see like 3 new fanarts of him every day, so donât you worry anon youâll have Four content đ«Ą
Wars on the other hand- To be fair, the last 4 months Iâve SERIOUSLY been seeing a lot more love for him and more art and fics for him. itâs still rough, but it used to be worse đ
but youâre right, they do deserve better. justice for the not as popular blorbos

Well, if you're giving me the chance @telemna-hyelle , I might as well spice it up this time with some âšmemesâš
(ask game is based on @bllaaaaarrgh 's post about each lu link's competency level based on their ability to play their games)
For this I will tag @literallink :) â„ïž
Sky: does not have the hand-eye coordination or spacial reasoning for any of this he's stuck in an area you're not supposed to get stuck in bc he forgot he can look up. Someone help him lol
Wild: very good with fights and shrines, and he enjoys them, but with literally everything else he gets choice paralysis and gives up.
Twilight: so... The portal kind of left him behind. Yeah he's still in ordon village. He's not complaining cuz he likes it there, but whoopsie lol (in fact I have not gotten past the opening to twilight princess)
Warrior: (haven't actually played og Hyrule warriors, but the gameplay is practically identical to age of calamity so we're going with that.) Warriors is just utterly flawless in combat. He can pull of combos, kill all enemies quickly, you name it. He says this is all fair and square, but it's really just universal favoritism (hw's combat is way easier than traditional Zelda games')
Wind: poor guy has even less coordination than sky. At least sky can jump gaps without veering to the side out of nowhere and missing entirely. He's alright at fighting, but it's pretty clear he's just flailing around and hoping it hits something (spam pressing b)
Time: my guy simply cannot swim. He just can't, it doesn't work out for him. Otherwise he's chilling. Give him a sword and a shield and he's practically untouchable
Legend: dies nearly as often as Hyrule, but doesn't have convenient restore point abilities like Hyrule so it sucks a little bit more. Not only that, but poor guy is constantly lost at all times, he's got no idea where he is or how to solve this puzzle girl help (admittedly, I'm pretty good with oracle games and albw, but I'm horrendous at alttp and triforce heros so I went with the funnier option)
Four: he is so incredibly slow. He has to think so so hard about each move he makes because (Maren played minish cap on an emulator on her phone and the buttons are all touchscreen and therefore so easy to press the wrong one) the colors are constantly wrestling for control in the middle of battle. He's pushing through it, his 3 bottles of lon lon milk help, but it's a struggle to move beyond glacier speeds.
(cw: depiction of injury)
Hyrule: has died during every single battle, BUT he just reloads his restore point and everything is fiiine. Just tanks hits while doing as much damage as possible until he wins. On the plus side, he's pretty efficient with conserving magic

thanks for the tag @zeromorph !!
tagging a few people but absolutely no pressure, and if I donât tag you but you wanna answer feel free!! @cephalopodvictorious @wendelbarge @cedar-phoenix @unthinkingclunk @iwishiwasatraveler
What book are you currently reading?
Dawnstar by Rachel Dugan! itâs the second book of a pretty good fantasy romance series.
Whatâs your favourite movie you saw in a cinema this year?
literally could not tell you the last time I saw a movie in theaters. I think it was pre pandemic? Truly do not know. Iâm hardly much of a movie person anyway, theyâre too damn long anymore. I like being able to be at home and pause them when I get too restless.
What do you usually wear?
for work days, dress pants and a nice top, often button ups or nice sweaters in winter. out of work, jeans and tshirts mostly. sometimes when Iâm feeling it Iâll wear skirts, because I love skirts, but I have to be in the mood.
How tall are you?
5â6.5â! and I claim every last half inch damn it.
Whatâs your star sign?
Aries!
Do you share your birthday with a celebrity or historical event?
Nothing of note that Iâm immediately aware of.
Do you go by your name or a nickname?
Online, Kit is a nickname i adopted when I was 13 lmao. Offline I go by the short version of my real name, so nickname I suppose.
Did you grow up to be what you wanted to be as a child?
Child me wanted to be a biologist, then an artist, then a vet, and late teenage me wanted to be a psychology researcher. so not at all LOL. One day I might like to go to school again for biology/botany, but thatâs a long way from now if ever. Right now Iâm happy where I am in tech support.
Are you in a relationship? Who is your crush if not?
Yep, been married for 7.5 years (and in a relationship with him since we were 14, which is essentially half our lives, which is⊠wild, to say the least. I got rly lucky on that front lol)
Whatâs something youâre good at versus something youâre bad at?
Good at: fixing computers/technology in general, baking, problem solving in general. Bad at: making friends and keeping my house clean
Dogs or cats?
Both!! I only have cats right now but I still one day would like a dog. I donât know if weâll be able to with our current cats though because Mist is scared of dogs and idk if itâd be fair to him. I really want a shepherd or cattle dog or corgi though, herding dogs are my favorites. Or a rottweiler mix because I adored the rottie mix I grew up with.
Whatâs something youâd like to create content for?
Uuuuuuhhhhhh Zelda maybe? Iâd still love to make a good Zelda and Link cosplay for myself one day. Or Cosmere, thatâs my other big all consuming interest. I donât really do art though or fanfic writing or anything so.
Whatâs something youâre currently obsessed with?
At the moment, Zelda lol. Iâve been replaying breath of the wild to manage my obsession and excitement wrt tears of the kingdom
Whatâs something you were excited about that turned out to be disappointing this year?
We essentially got no snow and Iâm still mad about it. My last hope is we get a freak snow storm in March again like we did last year.
Whatâs a hidden talent of yours?
Iâm really good with direction and can usually mostly remember how to get to or from a place if Iâve gone once
Are you religious?
Iâve become increasingly comfortable with the term agnostic. Sometimes Iâve wanted more but usually Iâm good saying âI think thereâs probably a higher power but I canât really knowâ and leaving it at that.
Whatâs something you wish to have at this moment?
more fucking sleep. 100k free dollars a year so i can go back to fucking sleep. prescription grade cough syrup. new lungs.
#kit talks#ask game#kind of lol#thank you for the tag ruth this helped me wake up with less annoyance at the world LOL

I have a correction and additional information:
There is actually dialogue in Tears of the Kingdom that I missed in my first playthrough where Rivan mentions that Dunma has not yet reached the triple digits:
"She is practically a child still, not even in the triple digits, yet look what she has accomplished. I am so proud!"
It is interesting that he calls her a child in contrast to those above 100 years old which Fronk mentions is "middle aged" to whom he refers to as "elders". It is a little comedic that those under 100 might be called practically children while those over 100 might be called elders. There's definitely a distinct divide at 100 years old in the Zora culture which was already suggested by Fronk about the way they speak.
It is important to note that Rivan somewhat babies his daughter in spite of her maturity. She takes her job very seriously ever since Breath of the Wild where she was on guard duty with her father, but Rivan has multiple pieces of dialogue talking about his daughter, how she is doing her duty alone, and how worried he is about her:
"Speaking of overwhelming concern, I wonder how my daughter, Dunma, is fairing. She is remarkably competent, but I cannot help but worryâŠHmâŠ"
"To think that my daughter was chosen to join the ruins-investigation group⊠/ I'll have to pay her just a quick little visit laterâŠ"
And there is a journal of his nearby where he mentions sneaking away from Sidon to visit his daughter:
"But the mountain path to Toto Lakeâand to Dunmaâis completely covered in sludge. / When you want to sneak over there, remember to bring lots of splash fruit!"
Dunma, on the other hand, mentions her father's enthusiasm for her accomplishments and his worry about her safety after you complete the mural quest with Jiahto:
"Thanks to you, I can give my father a good report. / That saidâŠit is a little embarrassing when he hears a report of mine and starts jumping with joy."
And when she is spoken to again:
"My father was elated when I was selected to be a security escort, but I could tell he was also worried for me. / Thanks to you, Link, I should be able to calm his fears."
She actually complains about Jiahto's childish impulses as well despite him being much much older than her:
"You know, I was assigned to escort him, but it feels more like I'm looking after a child who's found a new favorite toy."
It is clear that Dunma is capable and responsible according to her dialogue, so when her father calls her "practically a child, not even in the triple digits", he is not literally comparing her to child below the age of physical maturity. It seems like this is her first solo mission and with the dangers of the sludge falling from the sky, he is overly worried about her as his child.
Still this adds more information to the age of Dunma. I had assumed she was close to approaching 100 because of how insistent she is about not having reached that age. I still believe that she is somewhat close because otherwise that would feel like a 20 year old adamantly insisting that they are "not yet 40". So the question is how close can she be to 100 to start feeling like that age is coming up?
If 40 years old is about middle aged for humans (and presumably Hylians), then someone older than 30 would feel like that age is the next milestone.
I figured that Zora live at least twice as long as Hylians since 100 is just a couple decades older than 40 and is twice as old as 50 if that is considered middle aged instead. So perhaps the milestones for Zora are twice as long as well which would mean that Dunma could be feeling the approach of the middle age of 100 years old after she hit 80. I definitely feel that she could not be significantly younger as it would be very odd to worry about a milestone that is 4 decades away.
This does still fit with the belief that the Zora 40 is about the same physical maturity as the Hylian 20, but this means that Rivan did not have Dunma as soon as I initially believed. If Dunma was as young as 80 in Breath of the Wild, then Rivan who was over 130 years old would have had her in his 50s which is about 20 years after the Calamity. Still, Dunma could be around 90 which would place him in his 40s during her birth. I did actually think he would have been quite young to have a child in his 30s which would have been like a teen pregnancy situation, so this is definitely more of an appropriate time to start a family.
This doesn't change much since Rivan is still the only Zora to have an almost exact age while Fronk confirmed the exact age one is considered middle aged, but this does shine light on Dunma's relationship with her father which I thought was very sweet.
Tears of the Kingdom confirms that 100 years old is about middle age for Zora which is perfectly in line with what information we had been given in BotW regarding Zora age and growth.
Rivan was the only Zora to give a concrete age being "over 130" and claimed that he and Link swam together as childhood friends when Link stayed at the Domain along with the rest of the "Big Bad Bazz Brigade".
"Well, it has been 100 years since then. And now I'm over 130 years old..." / "We used to swim together when I was but a child... Remember?" âRivan
Furthermore, Rivan has a daughter named Dunma who was very adamant about being not yet 100 years old. She claims that she doesn't speak like those over 100, and now in TotK, another Zora mentions that Zora over middle age of 100 speak differently, more "eloquently".
"We Zora tend to speak more eloquently after reaching middle age." / "I hope that when I reach 100 years, I will also speak as beautifully as our elders. Unless that is too...OLD-fashioned, heh." âFronk (TotK)
[edit: I got the quote off my Switch after work]
It's hard for me to tell in English, so I can't tell whether Dunma has changed her manner of speech which could suggest she is now 100 years oldâshe didn't seem that far from the milestone in BotW.
"*sigh* Let's just say I'm less than 100 years old. Can't you tell?" âDunma
So we can get a good picture of Zora age to maturity with Rivan: he was over 130 in BotW, his daughter was under 100 meaning that he conceived her in his 30s to 40s which suggests that full Zora adulthood is about that age like adult humans hitting about 20 years old. For simplicity, I assume Hylian 20 is about Zora 40.
We can use Rivan to determine how old he was when he called himself a child using Link's age. I assumed that Link was younger than Zelda at first because he is so short, but it turns out he is older since Paya's age was actually influenced by Link so that there be a character around his age:
"Initially, Paya was to be a very young girl, but due to a lack of girls around Link's age in the world, she was changed to be a young woman between 18 and 20 years old." âCreating a Champion
So I will assume Link is about 19 for simplicity.
If Link was 19 during the Calamity and was 4 when he first arrived at the Domain, then 15 years ago, Rivan who was (approximately) 35 during the Calamity would have been 20 years old. Considering that he was approaching 40 when he had Dunma, 20 years old for Zora may align with Hylians at 10 years old.
Since Rivan belonged to a group of friends along with Link, they were probably around a similar age. That includes Gaddison and Bazz in the "Big Bad Bazz Brigade"
"I must ask something of you, traveler. If you know it, speak it now. What is the Big Bad Bazz Brigade password? Fluffy white clouds! Clear blue..." [Zora] "Yes! There is no mistaking it! You are, indeed, the real Master Link!" / "[It's true.] I knew it! The only people who know that password are members of the Big Bad Bazz Brigade!" âBazz
I will also include that Mipha died very young for a Zora since her spear is meant to accentuate her youth being taller than she is. Her short hight is a large part of it, but did you know that initially the adult Zora were meant to lose their tailfin? In the Creating a Champion book, the standard adult Zora design doesn't have a tailfin and their is a comment on the child Zora concept art states that all child Zora have the tailfin "like Mipha". This tailfin detail was not kept since all the Zora have tailfins in the game probably because their bare butts look pretty funny, haha.
Since Rivan had a child in his 30s-40s quite soon after Calamity while Mipha was still so short, it seems that she was younger than Rivan.
It's hard to put a number on Mipha's age since we don't know when Zora hit that "growth spurt", but it is safe to say that she is in the middle of that growth. She did say that Link always seemed to grow a lot faster than she did, so this growth that she is going through isn't very fast compared to Hylians.
...
I would like to mention the elder Zora especially Dorephan who was incorrectly depicted in Age of Calamity. Age of Calamity simply reuses his model from BotW, but it is wildly inaccurate to how he is described 100 years ago in BotW.
The elder Zora seen in BotW were in their prime during the Calamity 100 years ago. Their generation was the one defending the Domain at the time, and Dorephan was described fighting a Guardian some time after the Calamity which resulted in his forehead scar seen in BotW. This event is stated to have happened 100 years after he became king and since Sidon appears to be taking on that title in TotK (I haven't finished the Domain, so this was gleamed from his appearance in the last trailer), then it may be safe to assume that Dorephan was about a similar age to Sidon when he became king being over 100 years old (middle aged).
"Around 100 years after King Dorephan ascended to the throne, a stray Guardian crossed Upland Zorana into our domain." / "You can still see the scar he earned that day on his foreheadâa token of his triumph." âHistory of the Zora, Addendum 1
Rivan is yet again a good example of Zora age and maturity since his father Trello is in BotW and is wrinkled and old like the other elders while he and his daughter look quite similar in age.
This shows that Dorephan who is part of the same generation as Trello would not be so old 100 years ago like he was depicted in AoCâwith that forehead scar no less. (I liked AoC but this detail irritates me)
Considering the info available to us in BotW and TotK, Dorephan is likely over 200 and is in his elder years. It is safe to assume that Zora pass away before reaching 300.
So there you have it, an analysis on Zora age and maturity. They are still considered children in their 20s while they reach maturity around 40, they are middle aged at 100 and die of age before 300.

Honestly, I am so frustrated with Wild right now. I know why heâs reacting the way he is, heâs got a whole lot of baggage to do with dead friends, but just... ARGHHHHH
He abandoned the rest, he keeps charging headfirst into situations without stopping and thinking, he wonât listen to Four who is absolutely right in this situation. He just
ARGHGHGHHGHHGH
And of course, heâs worried! Heâs stressed! He feels like his past is repeating again! I feel for him, I do, but, itâs not like heâs the only one with the right to be worried about Twi. Four and Twi have been shown to be pretty close, but whereâs Four? Outside, taking care of Epona, even though itâs probably tearing him up inside. I mean, look how quickly he jumped to the split option, he must be stressed.Â
The thing is, why Iâm so frustrated with Wild right now is because heâs being really, really selfish. Heâs super worried about no one dying, but heâs not even staying to back up the rest, who are in danger, of dying. Heâs super worried about Twilight, but heâs completely ignoring the fact that the last thing Twilight needs right now is him freaking out in there. He slams down everything Four is saying because he doesnât want to listen to anything that he doesnât want to hear. That he should have followed orders. That he should be backing up the rest. That the rest are in danger. That Twilight is in danger. His actions could hurt the others. They could hurt Twilight. They could hurt Four, cause heâs about to duke it out with him when conflict within the group is the last thing they need right now!Â
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
I totally understand why heâs reacting like this. He has had a tragic past and doesnât want to lose anyone ever again. Thatâs not something you just get over, it leaves scars and trauma and pain that might never heal. But there are many different ways to respond to scars and trauma and pain, and this response-- this response, it isnât healthy. Heâs not saving anyone by acting this way; and if heâs not careful, heâll destroy himself.Â
And thatâs the last thing that Twilight would want.
I just really hope Fourâll manage to knock some sense into him before itâs too late.Â
And, as suggested by Kiwi, if the colors and Wild duel and they manage to knock some sense back into Wild, maybe itâll give Wild a bit of a chance to vent his anger. Heâll be able to cool down, and heâll be able to process what heâs actually feeling, and instead of bad coping methods heâll actually begin to heal. And I want that for him so badly. Please, please, please. Please heal, Wild. It hurts so much to see you like this. Â
Also, props to Four!!!! Heâs handling this situation so well, he must be going through a lot but heâs keeping a (mostly) level head and prioritizing everyoneâs safety. Not entirely level as his emotions were erratic enough that he decided to split, but Iâm very proud of him, my good smith lad(s).Â
#lu wild#linked universe#tellie talks lu updates#to be fair wild is my least favorite link but I still like him#i don't hate him i just like pretty much everyone else more#so i hope i'm not more harsh on him than I would be on someone else just cause he's not as high on my faves list

Mother & Father,
(y/n) and I will be continuing our honeymoon for at least an extra week. We will be traveling outside of Paris. I will send an owl once we are settled in the hotel.
Walburga stares down at the letter.Â
Cold shock fills her at her new daughter-in-law willingly is staying past the allotted time Regulus had planned for the couple's honeymoon.Â
Walburga thought them to be so indifferent about one another that they would have arrived home days earlier than planned, not extend their time alone together.
Hopefully, though, this meant the next heir of the House of Black would be on the way.
Part of her knows her son will continue to be stubborn, casting those infernal charms. Walburga didn't understand why her son insisted on-- engaging with his wife if he was just going to waste the attempt with a literal flick of his wand. The way he ignored his duties to his birthright was infuriating. She had thought she had raised this son to honor his pure blood and pedigree. To never ignore the responsibilities he had to his family.
Walburga glares at her husband. Blasted Orion had been the one to teach Regulus the contraceptive charm. Although she is glad no bastard children are running around, something she knew Regulus was aware could not happen, she wasn't happy that her golden boy is presently defying her wishes. If Orion hadn't insisted on taking her son to his--Â whores, they wouldn't be in this position. Regulus shouldn't have been exposed to those dirty blood, good for nothing tarts.Â
Tainting one's flesh was as good as tainting one's blood, in Walburga's mind. Not that she'd express her thoughts to anyone of their status. Men of Pureblood never seemed to view things of this matter as she did.
She knew this from experience.
Walburga sets the letter down on the breakfast table, "Regulus and (y/n) will be extending their-- holiday for another week yet."
"Is that right?" Orion says absentmindedly, continuing to scan the Prophet. She can tell he isn't listening to a word she says. Even after all these years, Orion's inattentiveness still boils her blood to an extent. You would think one would get used to being ignored, especially after all the years she has had to get used to it.
"I wonder where he will be taking our daughter-in-law."
"Yes, very weird."
Walburga's expression sours--Â further. She snatches up the letter from Regulus and storms out of the breakfast room without another word.
***
I bustle around the room when Regulus is away, posting another letter. The afternoon and night before had been nice, to say the least. Regulus had been sweet, almost affectionate, the entire time we spent together. It was a big change in a short amount of time, which worried me a bit. Hopefully, he wouldn't revert back to his old ways in the next few days. Merlin-- I hope he won't at all.
I rearranged the bed pillows for the sixth time, trying to distract myself from my thoughts.
The door's key noise disturbs my thoughts as Regulus steps into the room.
"Hi," I rub my hands down the front of my dress.
We stare awkwardly at one another for a moment before he speaks.
"I've been thinking about traveling outside of Paris. Would you be interested in extending our-- honeymoon?"Â
I'm taken aback by his sudden choice in conversation, "Where outside of Paris?"
"We can go wherever you please," he holds my hand, pulling me closer to his chest. This is the closest we've been since before he committed to trying our relationship out.
I clear my throat, "I-- guess that I'm just not really picky about where we go."
He smiles, "Well, then I guess you'll just have to trust that the places I want to go are places you want to go."
***
Together we pack up our belongings, casually swapping small talk.
"Do you want to write to your parents?" Regulus looks up from packing his trunk. "I mean, you haven't seen them since the wedding."
"What?" I give him a weird look, "No. I don't have anything to say to them."
Regulus looks slightly alarmed, "What do you mean?"Â
"No offense to you, but my parents practically forced me to marry you. I'm not too keen on speaking with them right now."
"You shouldn't just-- I mean, they're your parents."
"Doesn't mean what they did wasn't insensitive. I wasn't theirs to just... give away."
He reflects on my words before taking my hand in his, squeezing comfortingly, "Sorry."
"For what? I know you were coerced into marrying me. It's not your fault."
"I know that. And at some level, I was pushed towards--Â doing the right thing-- but I also had the right to refuse, and you were not granted such a right."
I nod, looking away as tears threatened at the corners of my eyes, "It doesn't matter--"
"No, it does matter. You do matter." I meet his eyes. They're steely, the furrowed brow and sour expression I know are not for me. "Don't you see why I use the bloody contraception charms now? They've taken too much from us already (y/n). They're not going to take that away from us as well."
I blink again, "That's why?"
"Of course it's why. We're not-- we're people for Merlin's sake. You're not property (y/n). I won't let anyone treat my wife like that." I'm not sure what to say to him. Thank you? Maybe that would be appropriate. "Besides, we're too young to think of such things. Maybe in ten years--"
"Ten years?" I laugh, "you really think I can keep them at bay for ten whole years? Your mother would be calling in every fertility specialist in the wizarding world, insistent that something must be wrong with me. Certainly, she wouldn't believe the problem was you."
Regulus sighs, "Okay, fine. Not ten years, maybe-- five?"
"Regulus," I laugh, "I know you don't like it. I am completely aware that you don't like being pushed around and knowing that I feel bad for trying to trick you into doing what I wish. But, like you said earlier. You can refuse, do as you please, but I only have one option laid out before me as your wife. And, I can't wait forever for you. I don't have that option. In a much wider social stance, people will talk and make my life miserable. Along with that, your mother and my own will also make my life miserable. There's nothing I'd like to do more than to-- take time for us, or even just me, but that just isn't the life we can lead."
Regulus looks down at his packing. I have to change the subject, feeling that we've exhausted this conversation enough for now.
"Who are you sending letters to?"Â
Regulus looks up, "Well, the first one was for my brother, and the one this morning was for my parents."
"Oh, I didn't know you were talking to your brother." I'm suddenly reminded that Regulus hadn't answered my questions.
"So..."
"Yes?"
"Can I ask you now to tell me about your childhood now?"
Regulus looks uncomfortable immediately. He rubs the back of his neck, "Um-- Sure."
I reach for his arm, hoping that my touch is just a little bit comforting, "You don't have to, Regulus. If you don't want to."
"No," his eyes look so... serious as he collects his thoughts, "I want to be honest with you, and this is a part of who I am." I smile at him, my fingers moving to intertwine with his. "My parents are-- well, they clearly are in a situation like ours. Except it has been a very long time now, and nothing good came from the union."
"Well, not exactly nothing," I squeeze his hand.
Regulus rolls his eyes, "I'm not sure Sirius and I are something good, but okay, yes. Not everything was bad if you insist." His reserved smile has butterflies exploding in my stomach. "Anyways, my father has always chosen to be... well, he's always strayed from my mother. Even when I was a child, I'm sure he chose to be unfaithful even before Sirius and I. And-- uh..."
"What?" I'm not sure I want to know. He's developed a pink flush on his cheeks, not meeting my eye suddenly.
"Well, I was just going to-- confess, I suppose, about his favorite whorehouse."
Frowning, I ask what he means by confessing? What in the world is the connection between Orion's favorite whorehouse and Regulus.
It dawns on me exactly what he's confessing to, right as he speaks.
Regulus reddens further, "I'm sure you understand where I am going..."
I guess I have no reason to be upset over Regulus's past trysts. He was older than me, and most importantly, he was a pureblood man who was expected to... well, act as a pureblood man acts. And that included sleeping around as a bachelor, or in the Black family's case, sleeping with a select group of people their patriarch has chosen.
"Orion thought that we should uh-- learn in preparation for our marriages. Get out any wildness in our systems with the protection of women who were paid and wouldn't try to blackmail with a bastard child."Â
I feel the cold glacial feeling of guilt rise up from the pit of my stomach all the way to my skin. Had I been-- Had I been causing him to relive a painful moment when I demanded--?
"And well, there are plenty of other things that were-- questionable about my parent's parenting style. My mother, you probably recognize she is a cruel, cold woman. A part of our recently exchanged letters, my brother and I were talking about a memory of our mother. Before she was the woman, you know, she was, well, a much more loving mother to the both of us. You actually were the one who brought forth the memory."
"I did?"
Regulus nods, reaching to cup my cheek in his hand, "It was the night we went to that-- the restaurant my father suggested. You said something about-- uh, a potential child giving you the love you seek from me."
I look away, feeling embarrassed by my words. To some extent, I do-- or did believe that having Regulus's heir, that a child's love could replace the feelings that should be between us as a couple.
"I--" I'm not even sure what to say. "That was wrong of me. I mean, eventually, it has to happen but pushing you-- or well attempting to trick you actually, because I thought..." What did I think? That he was hopeless? That I'd be stuck in a marriage that would parallel his parents and every other miserable Pureblood couple that has come before us.
"You have to remember that I am far from-- where you want me to be." Regulus's thumb traces under my eye, "But I certain I want what you've been asking me for."
***
Our packing takes longer than we'd expected as we spend more moments in conversation about our pasts, present, and hopeful future.
Regulus tells me about his first owl, a little brown owl originally named Maverick but nicknamed Rick because Regulus hadn't been able to pronounce it at age six. He tells me about family vacations that ended in disaster and his first date with a half-blood girl in year four that went terribly wrong. He reluctantly tells me about losing his virginity after I argue he already knew my story. With each moment, I feel more connected to him. How you feel at the beginning of the relationship when you're getting to know someone, the silly stuff that matters because you want to know them.
Checking out of the hotel is a bit-- strange, to say the least. As my husband talks to the witch at the front desk, who introduced herself to me as Seren, has been grinning an extra amount at Regulus, who appears to be oblivious to the flirtatious nature of the girl.
I'm surprised by the annoyance I feel as she flirts with my husband right in front of me. Without a second thought, I reach for his hand. I make sure that the ring Regulus gave me is obviously placed as I look Seren straight in the eye. Her eyes fall on the large purple jewel before her eyes shoot back up to mine. She at least has the decency to look embarrassed, her cheeks pinkening. Regulus frowns slightly at the interaction before going back to paying the witch.
I can't say that I'm not glad when we officially check out and walk out of the door. The jealousy is alarming, but what am I supposed to do when someone is ogling my husband?Â
"I'm not completely oblivious, you know." Regulus glances at me, a small amused smile on his face.
"To what? The girl flirting with you?"
He chuckles, "That and your possessive behavior."
I look at him outraged, "I was not possessive."
He holds up my hand, "What was this about then? You casually wanted to hold my hand?"
"So what if I did?"Â
Regulus rolls his eyes, "If that's what you really believe you were doing and not claiming me--"
"Claiming you?" I snatch my hand away.
"What else are you doing when you're showing off that ring?"
"I'm hardly claiming you. She was just-- too comfortable for my liking."
Regulus makes a sound in the back of his throat, "If you say so."
I bite the inside of my cheek, "Why didn't you do anything?"
He tries to hide a smile, "I hardly was indulging her."
"You didn't tell her to--"Â fuck off.
"I guarantee you, my dear wife, I have been deflecting her attempts all week." Oh, so maybe this wasn't exactly Regulus's fault... completely.
"You have?"
He stops me on the sidewalk, "Yes, of course. Do you really think I would flirt with another woman? Especially now?"
I shrug, "I guess-- no. I don't think you'd do that."
He shakes his head, "Of course I wouldn't."
***
I hold (y/n) tight against my chest as I apparate us to our new destination, remembering how she reacted the last time we apparated.Â
The moment we're safely on the ground, I continue to hold her, asking quietly if she's okay in a hushed tone. (y/n) nods, her fingers gripping the sleeve of my coat.
For a second, I contemplate pressing a kiss to her temple as I rub my hand up and down her back, but I stop myself before I go through with the reaction. Even with the small progress we've made, it feels too intimate, even as a gesture of comfort.Â
"Tell me when you're ready," I whisper.
Slowly, (y/n) pulls away from my embrace, (y/e/c) eyes opening hesitantly.
"I really don't like it." She says hesitantly.
"I can tell." We stand still for another beat before she confirms she is in better shape.
"Where are we?"
"Cork, Ireland."Â
Her eyes widen with curiosity, "Really? I've never been. Dad's been a few times, but obviously, with school and other things, I hadn't had the chance to successfully convince him to take me with."
"So there were places you wished to visit." I can't help but tease her as she prattles on about the things her father has told her about the city we're visiting.
"Of course, but you spring things on me too quickly. I can never recall things when I've been surprised."
I chuckle, "Fair enough. We should check in soon; it's nearly ten. Whoever's running the front desk won't be happy we've arrived so late."
***
By the time we've checked in and opened the door to the suite, it's nearing ten-thirty.Â
(y/n) takes a quick peek around the room before turning back towards me, "I suppose we should unpack--"
I don't let her finish the statement as I take two large steps towards her, cupping her face in my hands and kissing her soundly on the mouth. She makes a sound of surprise but doesn't pull away or smack me or something she ought to do, really. I'm not even sure where this need to kiss her came from. Maybe the way the soft light of the dimmed bedroom lights landed across her person, making her picturesque, ethereal even.
All I do know is that I must have her this instant. Must feel her soft skin under my fingers, feel her silken warmth as we move together atop the sheets of the hotel bed.
I have to have her, and I can only hope she feels the same way.
Tentatively, I run my hand down her spine, fiddling with the ridiculous amount of buttons that I could easily open with the flick of my wand. Something about the thought of painstakingly unbuttoning each individual button was incredibly erotic.
"I can never seem to control myself when you're around," I whisper as I kiss below her jaw. The way she seems to melt under the words has me smiling against her neck as I continue to kiss down to her exposed collarbone. These damn dresses she wears always showed off just enough cleavage to draw my eyes towards the neckline. "Do you wear these dresses on purpose? Torturing me all day, having to see only the tops of your breasts." Her breath hitches, egging me on. "Do you like it when I talk about your body like that? Like the way, just the sight of some of your naked flesh has me turned on? Hm?"
"Regulus--" My name comes from her lips like a prayer.Â
"Tell me what you want." My hands worship her body, squeezing her covered tits. I would do anything to get this blasted dress off of her.
"I-- I want you."
"Want me to do what? Use your words, kitten."
Her lips, red and abused, open and close attractively once or twice before she finds her words, "I want you to fuck me."
"Fuck you? You want my cock, huh? Is that it? In any way that I'll give it to you?"
She blinks, a bit confused, but nods. I can't believe I've rendered my wife so speechless, so cock-hungry she can barely articulate what she wants.
"Let's get this off then," I tug at the neckline of her dress, "turn around, kitten." She quickly obeys, and I get to work on the buttons, finding I can release her from her dress easier than I had previously imagined.Â
The fabric hits the floor as I gaze at her naked back, "turn back around. Think you've teased me enough. I want to see those tits."
Slowly, she faces me once again.
"I think I wanna fuck these," I say as I reacquaint myself with the feeling of her breasts in my hands.
"You want to-- what?" I often forget that my wife's sexual experience starts and ends with what we've done. She's looking at me like I've said something odd.
"You want me to show you? I think you'd look lovely with my cock between your breasts." I discard my pants, shirt, and jacket, pulling her towards the bed, lightly guiding her down to the floor as I sit.
"What about fucking me?" She frowns up at me.
I chuckle at her indignant frown, "Don't worry, darling. I plan on cumming inside of you. Now, push your tits together nice and tight around me. There we go."
Hesitantly, she does as I say. The sight alone has me twitching.Â
Gently, I thrust up. If I thought the view before was good, seeing her innocent face watch as I seek pleasure from a new place on her body. She's radiant, on her knees, watching my cock disappear and reappear.Â
"Do you like that, darling? Like watching?"
Her eyes flit up to meet mine, "Yes." It takes nearly everything within me not to cum on the spot. Merlin, what was this girl doing to me?
"Do you want me to fuck you, kitten?" I hold her chin, so she has to look at me.
"Obviously." There's that attitude I expect. Chuckling, I pull her from her knees, maneuvering her on her back.
"So impatient. Just itching to feel me deep inside ya, huh?" She nods, "words, darling."
"Yes, please."
The first inches feel like coming home. She makes those breathy noises I love, pleading with me for more, to give her everything and anything I can.Â
It's a symphony in the room, the headboard of the old creaky bed knocking against the wallpapered wall, the noises (y/n) makes every time she moves her hips against mine... There's no doubt that we're alerting the rest of the occupants exactly what we're doing in room twelve.Â
This thought stirs something inside of me. Clumsily, my fingers find her clit hoping to get her exactly where I'm at.
"Don't stop, don't stop, don't stop--" her voice is utterly fucked as she practically chants these words.
"Cum for me, kitten. Don't hold back." Merlin-- please don't hold back.
If our neighbors weren't aware of the little-- musical act happening in our room, they were now. (y/n) writhes beneath me, fingernails digging into the small of my back.
"Fuck--" I don't hold back as she clenches down hard.Â
Was it ever this good with someone else? I can't think of a single woman who makes me cum as hard as I do with (y/n).
As the weaker aftershocks continue to rack my body, I lay down next to her, pulling her into my embrace. I reach for my wand in my discarded jacket, silently casting the charm.
(y/n) looks like she wants to say something, but I stop her, kissing her forehead.
"I promise, someday. But not today." (y/n) doesn't say anything but nods as she gets more comfortable in my arms. "You know, this is the first time we've done this."
"What do you mean?" (y/n) laughs, "we've done this a few times now."
"Not that. I mean, usually, one of us runs off after we've done that. This is the first time you're voluntarily in my arms."
(y/n) makes a soft noise of agreement, "That's true."
I smile. This was progress.

Summary:
Raine Whispers will always love Eda, no matter where they are, there will always be apart of them that will have Edaâs needs and feelings in mind, like comfortable brownian noise. Darius Deamonne knew that he loved in an unusual way. He didnât understand compromising the Rebellionâs plan out of the slight possibility that it would put Edalyn in less danger that she actually was, he didnât understand why Raine said sorry when they left in the night instead of the morning. Camila Noceda loved how society told her too: a muscular masculine cisgender man (lighter than her because if there is something that Latine communities donât lack is colorism). Manny had been all of that but loving him had still felt like rebelion. Eda Clawthorneâs love was wild fire, it took and took as many as it could of herself in order to warm those around them. Raine knew this and hated it as much as they love her but knew there wasnât another way in which Eda knew how to love, so they just focused on returning the same warmth so that she didnât grew cold. -Or Darius and Raine are dating, Eda and Camila start going out and Eda and Raine are idiots-

"A witch is born free, their magic of no master but their own. In the savage ages witch-lings were encouraged to dance and sing, now under Emperor Belos they spent most of their childhood sitting silently at the prisons we call school, teaching them obedience, until they themselves accept their shackles in the shape of a coven sygil. Therefore is the responsibility of every witch to break free again, and to help their siblings achieve the same freedom. Summary: Raine plays their violin and Hunter likes to listen to it.

Raine liked to play the violin alone.
That was a fun experience, they couldn't lie, just get their violin and let all the complex feelings inside their mind become beautiful notes into their instrument and fill the air around them as a pleasant song instead of a mess of thoughts. Music always calmed them down since they were a baby to this moment, and it was an easy escape when they needed it.
It was something they would do since their school days: get the violin, hide in the forest and play until their feelings were in place again. This time they were near the Emperorâs castle, later they would have a little reunion about plans for the day of Unity, and Raine was putting feelings about it out of their chest. They felt awful about the stuff they had to do to get so close to the Emperor. They didn't like that, but it was necessary. They were trying to convince themselves that the actions were    needed   so they could stop whatever the Emperor had planned for the Boiling Isles.
The notes had a sour touch to it, mixed into a more hopeful, calm melody.
They strummed the strings, touching the lower part of them with their bow, with maybe more strength than they were supposed to, but they were full of bad feelings that needed to go out somehow, or  else they would accumulate in their chest until they exploded, and a meltdown was everything Raine would like to avoid when trying to convince the Emperor that they were the most wise choice for Coven Head.
They didn't notice the teen approaching slowly, with their eyes closed, feeling the notes going out and the song, until they finally stopped, opening their eyes to see the Golden Guard sitting nearby and looking at him, with their mask on.
"G-golden Guard! I-i-i didn't see you there!" Raine became a blushing mess, stumbling on their own words and trying to keep what was left from their dignity in front of nothing less than the Emperorâs Coven head, and Belos favorite soldier.
"There's no need to stop playing, I was enjoying it." Their tone and affirmation were the only giveaway that they were liking the song, because the face was hidden behind the owl-like mask, as ever. Raine didn't know why, but hearing such a young voice sound so tired would give them chills. Something was deeply wrong about that kid. "Please, keep playing."
"I-I.... I-I-I am not as good with an audience." Raine muttered, putting the violin down "But I can try."
Hunter only nodded, seeing Raine play the first notes, a little rushed and jumbled, but as the song progressed, they forgot that the Golden Guard was watching, and the song started to have a more bittersweet tone to it. They heard that the Golden Guard had to keep an eye for Edalyn Clawthorne, and Raine felt a bitter taste in their mouth to think that being a Coven Head meant never being able to meet Eda as a lover again.
They remembered their last fight, both drunk in their house.
"If you don't want to be with me, just say it! And leave me alone!"   Raine had yelled, and Edalyn's face was surprised, afraid. Afraid that they would leave her at that moment. At any moment. They abandoned her, after all. The song acquired somber notes, lingering on the feeling of sadness. They had to suppress their tears as they let out their feelings. Guilt, sorrow, longing.
They tried to go to other feelings, but it was impossible, their mind always circling and then coming back to Eda.
When they stopped and opened their eyes, the Golden Guard had taken off their mask, staring at Raine with an empty expression. The bags under his eyes would make Raine feel an urge to hug them, to scold them to sleep eight hours a day, to tell them to eat healthy. Why such a young kid was a coven head and looked so tired---
The scars and nick was what more startled them, a kid shouldnât be that hurt. Those were tears streams? Raine didnât ask, looking down, face burning from the thought of playing a song about their ex in front of the Golden guard.
(Not that there were any words to it, and the Golden Guard could guess the subject, but still made Raine anxious.)
"I-I-I am sorry, it's not my best work, Golden Guard. I.... I will make it sound better if I just play something I already know."
"You can just call me Hunter." Hunter said, a bit emotionless. "I hope to see you playing more often, Raine.â
Raine nodded, seeing him shift the position they were sitting, from a rigid stance to a more teen-like way, sitting on one of his legs.
âSure, sir. I mean, Hunter. Just as a curiosity⊠How old are you again?â
âI am sixteen.â He said, a bit more defensive now. Raine felt how tense he was.
âOh, thatâs an important age! Have you gotten your own Palisman yet?â Raine smiled, trying to just treat him as a teen, and not, Golden Guard, Belos right hand.
Something about the scars, the tired expression, the lack of emotion⊠Made them shiver. When they were sixteen their biggest scar was from an accidental cut and their biggest problem was asking out Eda to go with Grom together. Not leading an entire coven. Definitely not going on dangerous missions for a tyrannical emperor.
âNo, not yet. I got my staff from Emperor Belos, I donât use this kind of wild magic.â
âOh⊠Thatâs fair, I imagine Belos doesnât like wild magic.â Raine said, looking at Hunter. When he didnât answer, they felt like they touched a delicate subject. âWant to hear another song?â They tried to distract the teen, standing closer to him.
âThat would be lovely, Whispers.â He said, looking at the mask on his lap.
Raine started to play, mindlessly strumming the strings, just feeling the mood. Hunter seemed to be enjoying it, and some tears streamed down again, but Raine didnât comment on them, yet. They didnât feel like Hunter would actually answer if they asked why he was crying. When they finished, Hunter had put the mask on a while ago, but Raine could tell he was holding up sobs, by the way his breath was uneven and the chest moving in spasms sometimes.
âMusic does that to you. Especially a Bardâs song, even if it isnât my intention to use magic while I play.â Raine reassured him âBrings feelings you didnât know you had. Bring out smiles and tears. Sometimes all I do is play music and my feelings take over me.â
âFeelings are a weakness.â Hunter affirmed, a voice cracking in a way that made Raine be sure he still was crying.
âEveryone has feelings. I know they can be hard to deal with, but itâs healthy to feel them, and sometimes.... Just cry to a song you liked.â
Raine started to play again, now they remembered about  Raineâs Rhapsody and they were letting the song soothe them, using the bardâs magic to make the objects float around âAnd talk about it with someone you trust. Like your parents, or a friend, or nice adult. No one can keep all of their feelings to themself and feel good.â
â... Wouldnât this be awful? I mean, why would someone want to hear another personâs feelings?â
âSometimes, theyâre friends. And friends do that for each other.â Raine stopped playing the song, Hunterâs words had set off many red alert lights on their brain. âDid you never⊠Tell your feelings to someone?â They asked, worried.
âWell, I ramble about them alone on my bedroom and on my notebook--â
âNo, a real person.â Raine interrupted, with a worried look âWith a real person that can hug you when you start to cry and that can pat your back, and bring you some water when youâre feeling like shit.â Raine struggled to say the last word, but they thought that would be more relatable to the teen. Teenagers liked cuss words, right?
âThat would be hard, I am always feeling like shit.â Hunter laughed, but Raine didnât, making him go silent.
âDo you⊠Need to talk about something?â Raine asked carefully, trying to sound the least threatening possible. They tried to put care into their voice, as well as an welcoming tone. Having the right tone on their voice was treated like getting the right tone on a song: One wrong tone and you could end up ruining your whole performance.
âI⊠Itâs just that⊠You know, all of-- All of this--â Hunter was trying to say something, but stopped himself âNo, I    DONâT   need to.â Hunterâs body language changed from leaning closer to Raine to tense and alert in a matter of seconds, and he stood up quickly âIt was a pleasure to meet you, Mx. Whispers. But I got to go. I have more pressing matters to attend to.â
Raine nodded, noticing they crossed a boundary there, but they were okay about it. They noticed Hunterâs sudden shift of body language, and that would only make sense. Raine was a teacher, and it wouldnât be the first time they offered comfort to an abused kid. Reaching for them on days they were beaten up, asking how they were feeling, if they needed a hug or just to chat. Show that things could get better. Get one of their hidden candy and give it to them as a promise that someone cared for them. It wasnât the first time that an abused kid told them they didnât need help and drifted away. They knew some parents would double the abuse on the kids when they discovered they had been snitched to another adult.
It would only make sense for Hunter to dodge any questions and any comfort. It didnât make it less okay, though. Raine made a mental note to offer comfort in other ways.
Hunter stopped a bit and turned to Raine. He took off the mask, to show a face with many streams of tears that were already drying out, and an even more exhausted expression.
âIt was nice to talk to you. I hope to hear your violin again.â
âNo problem, Hunter. And I mean, you can reach out if you just need to spend time with someone. I can just pretend you arenât there and play.â
âThat⊠That would be nice, actually.â Hunter muttered, putting the mask on again âGoodbye, Raine.â
He slowly walked away, tired. Raine sighed and got their violin again.
Maybe it was time to plan how to help that poor kid.

My analysis and thoughts about King Rhoam
Introduction
Greetings and welcome to this post!
This is a rant/kind of essay (?) that I was being writing in the past few  weeks as a further reading to an opinion that I've wrote on the  description of a drawing of mine in Amino, in which I stated that King  Rhoam is my favorite character in BoTW and maybe all the Zelda series.  Since it could be read on its own, I  want to get a shot on here as I did some months ago on Reddit. I'm aware of the risks I'm taking by expressing a generally favorable opinion on his character on here, but I still hope to find some genuine debates!
Before  I start this analysis, I want to make some important premises: I only played five games from the Zelda series, being in order Twilight  Princess, Breath of the Wild, A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening and  Skyward Sword: despite I played some of the most important games of the  series, I still lack knowledge about other games, most notably Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker, so I may miss something from my analysis (mostly by comparing the operate of King Rhoam with that of other monarchs of Hyrule).
I'm  sorry if some phrases may appear badly formulated or if I made some grammatical errors, but I'm not a native English speaker and I'm still learning  it... Also, I won't cover Age of Calamity extensively in this text, since  despite I've seen the cutscenes on Youtube, I didn't play the game yet,  therefore I may also being missing something from that game.
Now, I'm ready, ready to be doxxed

King Rhoam's perception among Zelda fans
I've  noticed a lot, mostly here and on Instagram, that King Rhoam is quite an hated character, and to be fair I can understand why: despite Breath of the Wild has genuinely great characters and the idea of reviving the memories from the past is excellent in the contest of the game, each character aside from Zelda suffered from the pacing of the story and how it was structured; unfortunately the King is the one that was particularly disadvantaged from this choice: in BOTW, DLC included,  before the Calamity he was only shown twice, one time doing his job as a King and another to be outright harsh to Zelda, so this didn't play in  favour to give him justice or even screen time, for that matter. We only did have an insight of what he did really felt only by a diary which location was easily missable, so if someone for some reason or another,  only recovered the memories, they may comprehensively dislike him. Let's start analyse Rhoam's character through different perspective as a father, as a king and as an overall fictional character, trying to give his authors and him credit where deserved and criticisms where needed.
This  rant is not meant to change your mind, but just to give the King's  character justice and to offer a different interpretation from  everywhere else I could find on the internet. You're still free to have your disagreements, and your opinion is valid. ______________________________________________________________

My analysis on Rhoam's character arc
We  don't know much about the last king of Hyrule before the birth of  Zelda, aside that he was a pragmatic man, or as Age of Calamity may  imply, a skilled warrior. He loved (if not, considering we are still on  the royal class of a medieval hierarchy, at least held in high regards)  his wife, the Queen, and was enthusiast to become a father. It's unknown if he was either born in the Royal Family, but it's likely that he became a king after his marriage with Zelda's mother, who seemed to have  inherited her powers from her ancestors, and as most monarchies claim,  they have as their distant founder the mortal reincarnation of the goddess Hylia whose powers were passed down through blood. Despite so, it seems that while his wife was still alive, Rhoam had a certain amount of agency for the Reign's decisions, since he hold in  consideration the tragic destiny the Fortune Teller foresaw for his  Reign, which was based on a legend from way long before the game events  even start. Although he was being skeptic, in a first moment, maybe  along his wife, Rhoam ordered to excavate the mostly likely legendary  relics and changed his mind as soon as the first results were found.  However, if the Divine Beasts really existed, it also meant that the  Fortune Teller's prediction was actually true and that Hyrule was next  to its total annihilation, and therefore the time to prepare an huge  reign like his was already too short.
But, despite everything, the King continued to show affection towards both his wife and Zelda, being initially actually really supportive of her own interest on research, and his life was going decently, with both of  them on his side. Despite Zelda's role was prophetised to be essential for the Reign's people safety, it was already planned to introduce the child princess to her divine powers gradually by the help of her mother, who also remembered her what she was supposed to do. The Princess  seemed to be already educated by both parents to be both strong and  stoic, most like most aristocratic families of the past, âabilityâ that  she internalized when her mother died all of a sudden. As many things  on BoTW's story, it's unknown what were the causes of the death of the  Queen, but from what Rhoam wrote on his diary (and Urbosa's as well), he  was more openly grieving than his child Zelda, both in public and in  private: I think that this precise teaching is one of the reasons why  the King and the Princess' relationship started to crumble, because of  all of this exact toxic mindset and the suppression of their own  feelings.
According to his diary,  Rhoam, while heavily grieving, was surprised to see Zelda not faltering,  even despite her own mother's passing: despite the grave loss, he was  still proud of her receptiveness of the family's teachings. Immediately  after the passing of the Queen, what happened immediately next was  unknown, but on a more speculative note, I interpret the king's will to  continue to educate his child in the way he did to probably honour what  his wife may have also been wanting during her lifetime as well. So,  with his wife now dead, only a distant legend as a guide and an already  emotionally distant daughter, Rhoam had to guide the entire reign alone  and this was only the start of the King's own, personal tragedy. Under  the his reign, alone, he tried to do everything he could to prepare  Hyrule from the incoming annihilation: feared to losing the rest of his  reign, the King continued to prepare and to motivate his own troups, the  researches for the relics and, unfortunately had to prepare Zelda, his  own daughter, to a role he didn't known much about, aside from few  sparse anecdotes from his wife and legends.
The  time was still passing, however, and there may wasn't much for the  arrival of the calamity, and while Rhoam surely empathised with Zelda,  even when she was still a child, he started to begin to partake her in  the praying rituals, even despite when they both didn't know much about  the process. While, they grieved alone on their own, Rhoam known that  Zelda had to unlock her powers as soon as she could, so she could  manipulate their powers even more effectively, so from a grieving  father, he forced himself to wear in her presence the vests of the king  and to treat her even more severity. Rhoam, during most of the following  years, preferred approaching Zelda as a subject instead as a daughter  because he preferred to sacrifice his and the princess' own happiness  instead of seeing the death of everyone he sworn to protect and he felt  quite dreaded in doing so, but the prayers were the only thing he known  for certain could work. In the meanwhile, the King already prepared  everything, finding the best warriors of the reign to pilot the newly  discovered Divine Beasts, found the Hero chosen by the Sword that seals  the Darkness while progressively noting Zelda was being involved in  something not that relevant for her duty, and basing of their lack of  effective communication, he thought that she didn't even try to awaken her powers.
While progressively  distancing himself emotionally from the daughter, we can imply from the  memories that despite Rhoam was harsh to Zelda, he still did care for  her both as a princess and a daughter: despite her role was crucial in  order to Hyrule's safety, he actually let her have her own autonomy, and  he ordered the best knight of the reign, who was also a peer of hers to  escort her. Whenever Urbosa visited Zelda, he let the Chief to  accompany her to the Spring rituals, maybe to encourage Zelda to do her  best, now that a trusted friend was close to her. Maybe Rhoam himself  did the same, especially when the daughter was still a child, but his  mannerisms would not have helped her to feel calmer. Despite he  preferred the Princess to pray instead of research the relics, he did  permit her to still have her own laboratory, even next to her bedroom. As  we may have witness in the game itself, many were the perils of  Hyrule's overworld, even in the past, from the monsters which presence  was growing in the months between the memories and the rise of the Yiga  clan, that wanted her dead. Despite these dangers, and unlike most of  other historical/ fantasy medieval royalties' conventions, Zelda was  still allowed to go out from the castle and to do mostly what she  wanted, even in relative privacy, since she was escorted by only one  knight. To think that in most other medieval-like contexts it would be  outright unacceptable for a young girl to go out with a boy who was also  her age, Rhoam was rather permissive. The king may not have been happy  to know that she passed most of her time studying the Sheikah relics  instead of praying, and still pressed Zelda to think about her duty, but  he still let her to do what she wanted to do, for the most part.
In  facts he actively prohibited her to partake in the researches only  lately, four memories away from the start of her seventeenth birthday,  age which it's explicitly said to be the age of majority, and also  implied as the age of wisdom. Therefore Rhoam may have been even more  strict because he expected his daughter to think more seriously about  her role, since she was short away from being a legal adult, but here we  have another detail that adds some insightful reasons he was that  brash: during the memory Father and Daughter, in which he scolds Zelda,  Rhoam also mentions her that she's the centre of gossips around the  royal court, and it seems the diary confirms that. Unfortunately, we  don't know for certain what kind of gossips were referring to Zelda,  most likely about her shortcomings about her sacred powers or her lack  of regards of her duty. It seems that Rhoam was somewhat susceptible of  them, at least for what it concerns both his as a King and as authority  figure in general (they may have seen him as too lenient towards her),  and his daughter's image, since it seems from the memories that she was  most of the time outside the castle doing her researches or to outright  doing recreational activities. As we can read in the diary and get in  that memory, Rhoam didn't have that high regard towards his court and  wanted his daughter to prove them wrong. Unfortunately, as usual, his  tones weren't adapt to convey what he meant and comprehensively turned  the princess even more desperate than before. But even then, we can  see then the King still left Zelda to roam (pun not intended) around the  world, as we can see in the memory âto Mount Lanayruâ and in the  meanwhile become even more guilty intimately than he ever has been, to  the point of  wanting to let down the toxic mindset that he had to adopt  for himself and to Zelda and to try to recover all the time he lost  behaving as he always has been. If we think about this choice, if it  have been applied it would be kind of refreshing, especially considering  how medieval-like monarchies work, it may have certainly been on the  mouths of the courtiers but it may have been a brave act nonetheless.  [SPOILER: maybe it really happened in Age of Calamity]
But  it was too late: came Calamity Ganon, which killed among the many, the King himself. It seems that during the century that passed between the  loss of Hyrule and Link's awakening (pun not intended), he watched over  on both his daughter and her knight. We don't know what exactly happened  during that time, but I assume that Zelda noticed his presence, but  here I'm entering in headcanon territory.
And  when Link's awakened, Rhoam in the vests of the Old Man, put in  practice what he must have thought and felt for a century, to not repeat  his errors, and despite he was still guilty underneath his giovial  appearance, he guided Link more playfully, maybe experiencing happiness  from the first time in so long.In those vests, Rhoam was sensitive  enough to guide the amnesiac hero gradually, to introduce him to both  the dangers of the nature and his reintroduction to the world in a less  traumatic manner. The tutorial of BoTW was memorable also thanks to  his presence, because despite the hero was amnesiac, the King didn't  took Link for stupid and he let him to experience the world as he wanted  but this time he did gradually reminded him of his ultimate fate. That  was his last deed to Zelda, after a life full of losses, regrets and  suppressed feelings. It was an ultimate sorry that come out even after  his death. Rhoam's life was tragic as it was his daughter's, if we look  globally even sadder. King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule was a genuinely a  good natured man behind his crown's duties, who unfortunately had to  face a calamity and that many other factors didn't allow him to be as  supportive as he could have wanted. His will to protect Hyrule and his  selflessness revealed to be a double edged sword, and he was guilty  about his position all this time. This won't condone completely his  actions, though, and they DID have a negative influence on Zelda's  development, but at the same time, he did the best as he could do in  order to save the reign, so this classifies him as a well-written morally grey character, and I praise Nintendo for their own writing.

______________________________________________________________ Why Rhoam's my favourite character in Zelda series
From  now on, I'll be more subjective regarding my reception of the King, but  before I'll start to explain the reasons why I liked him so much, I  want to tell you an anecdote: at first I loathed him as much I despised  Zelda. In my first playthrougth of BoTW, I interpreted the King as the  classic widowed father who was overprotective of his precious daughter  while the Princess as the overused tomboy princess who hated her life in  the castle to explore the world instead. Such a caricature that both  characters didn't deserve.I wasn't also a huge fan of their character  designs, founding the Rhoam's face and proportions too hard on the eye  while Zelda's research outfit too much unfitting to the elegant Princess vibes I love in a Zelda design. (her royal and praying outfit are really good though) However, the more I've played and the more the  characters grown on me: while I'm still on the fence with Zelda, who has her good amount of strengths on the writing (despite her main design is still not my cup of tea and there are some parts on her character  development don't click with me), I found Rhoam... way more interesting.
Unlike  the other main characters, the King didn't have any otherworldly or magic abilities, counting only on the powers from his own position to  help as much as he could with the reign's protection and welfare, to the  point to sacrifice his own happiness in order to succeed to extirpate  the calamity. His own complexity made feel him more alive than most of  the characters in the game, maybe even the series: like Zelda, we've seen Rhoam at his lowest point possible, and the most saddening thing about him is that he passed  whole years like that, not even being able to tell anyone about his  sufferings but an hidden diary. Despite there wasn't much screentime of  him, his memories were heartfelt and his brief paragraphs expressed at  their best the personal tragedy he encountered and how he suffered to  treat his treasured Zelda as a subject instead as a daughter.Hovering  between the uncured wounds of the past and the imminent coming of a  complete catastrophe, Rhoam still wanted to change his own reign's fate,  for the best. He was wrong in many ways, especially as a father, but  his errors make feel him even as an human who didn't know what to do who  had as a basis to all his work only a prophecy, nothing else. Adding  the fact that he progressively learns from all his errors make me love  the King even more.  Whether being in life or in death, Rhoam's  selflessness didn't allow him to leave the reign's affairs on pending  and he applied what he learned and reflected during all these years. His  own evolution feels really natural and it's satisfying to grasp every  aspect of him as soon as you put together all the sparse pieces the game  offers. So yes, despite Rhoam wasn't the best father he could have been  to Zelda, this in my opinion doesn't qualify him as a bully, as I've  read often in the internet, and he's a character as worthy of love as  the rest of the main cast. If we can forgive the Princess for her own  flaws, we can at least comprehend him, even if we don't condone his  actions.
Now that this short  âessayâ makes me think about the King's character design, it's actually  really fitting to his personality: his hardly decipherable facial  expressions and his own stature make feel him imposing, and since during  the game we identify more on Link and Zelda, his appearance makes him  as someone who's hard to approach. I admit that I've learnt to love his  fluffy beard and his awesome coat! So yeah, now I like the king even  from a character design perspective. Also what about Rhoam's own name? I like that little pun on his actual role (because he both rhoamed both literally and psychologically in his life).
I've read a popular theory in which King Rhoam's strictness is the main cause on why Zelda didn't unlocked her powers, and if he let her to  research the relics, the Calamity could have been avoided. I think it's a  valid assumption, that could work in the game's contest. However, I'm  also convinced that while the King is too strict, Zelda wasn't that  right either, since we don't know what exactly what unlocked her powers.  Was the Princess completely dedicated to her praying? Did she only go to the springs and had  other things in her head than the prayers? Mipha implied in the memory âReturn of Calamity Ganonâ that at least thinking to heal/save the person she loved may unlock her powers, and this is what they seemed to  have been working to Zelda as well. In this case, I think that both Rhoam, who demanded Zelda to pray mindlessly and the princess herself,  who was focused on a mostly fruitless research were wrong. (consider that she didn't seem to discover much completely on her own, and even when she did it was still mostly with Purah and Robbie's help) ________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________
Conclusions
Tl;dr: Rhoam's a flawed character but still worthy of an analysis and credit.
Was Rhoam a good father? Despite the king was still caring underneath his  severe appearance, he could have been less demanding to her. Was him a  good king? The best Hyrule may have witnessed, after everything he did.  Do both factors deem him as a bad person? For me, not at all, since he shown on multiple occasions to be a generally good natured man who was  wounded by the past and stressed out for the future, but I think this perception could be changed by each person's personal values. I'm aware  of the potential bigotry that can be found on him.  It was hard to judge morally Rhoam, both since it's one of my favourite characters ever and because I despise to showe my own moral compass onto fictional characters, but it was still a fun experiment.
I  hope you found his rant/essay at least decent. I tried to made you see  the King's from a different prospective, but it wasn't my intention to  change your mind. So, if you still don't like him, you're valid and I  love how differently everyone reads BoTW's plot and makes it theirs.
The  only thing I ask you, though, is to avoid to insult me or any other  commenter. However, if you want to discuss peacefully, I'm more than  glad to explain where I may have been lacking in this rant and to see  your point of view.
That said, I wish you a nice day or night, and I hope to see you soon. Bye!

This is something I wrote on my old account @xxdxaxx I won't add a link to the original post cause I'm basically just reposting it after editing it a little bit. It's this wild thought I had in mind a long time ago.
Basically Andromeda adopts Severus in his first year. She sees this little nervous boy unsure about his place in the world and who just wants to go back to his best friend, who is a muggleborn. She automatically decides to keep him cause she can see that he isn't like the other Slytherins, and sure enough Severus gets attached to her and sees her like a mom because of how nice and caring she is.
Imagine Severus running to Andromeda anytime the mauraders bully him and cling to her for dear life. She'll whisper sweet nothings in his ear in order to calm him down and wipe away his tears. Once she graduates you best believe that Severus clung to her with tears streaming down his face as he begged her not to go, not to leave him alone in Hogwarts. Andromeda promising him that she'll write to him everyday no matter what and seeing him perk up.
Severus going to her after his fall out with Lily and begging Andromeda to forgive him for saying such an awful word, especially since she herself married a muggleborn. Andromeda quickly knowing how guilty he feels and pulls him into a hug, she knows what its like being in a house and having to act a certain way so as not to get hurt by the others. She knows how it feels to get bullied for being a blood traitor and knows what its like to be misjudged because of what house you're in. So that day is spent with Sev and Andromeda cuddling on the couch and Ted, casually draping a soft blanket over them both while smiling as he remembers doing this back in Hogwarts.
Tho before she graduated Andromeda had made plans to murder Malfoy after Severus mentions the slightest attraction towards him. Then constantly asking questions when he says he might like Rosier, she knows him well and to be honest its rather shocking to hear Sev say that but in retrospect she can sorta see why. Rosier was brave, smart, well mannered, and oddly protective when it came to those he cared about so really despite his craziness he may have been a good match.
Now what shocked her most was the way Sev ranted about Gilderoy Lockhart, despite his rants being full of hatred towards the man she knew he held some attraction towards him. Honestly it ain't hard to miss when Sev says and I quote "I hate his goddamn gorgeous hair!! Filthy bastard!" and she takes great pleasure in teasing him about it too. Hell she even has it recorded and threatens him with it. Ted would tease him to but at least he knew when to stop, because he knows Sev is good with magic and can end him (plus his wife has threatened him about teasing her child and by god will he disobey her)
Severus hates the teasing and would go and hang out with Ted seeing as he wouldn't do it as much as she would. It warmed Andromeda's heart seeing her two favorite boys spend time together and nothing made her happier. When it came to Severus's graduation Andromeda and Ted had attend and they both cried seeing as Sev was basically their kid no matter what. That day was a day Sev wouldn't forget seeing as he had to deal with Andromeda constant whines of how her baby boy was growing up! TED HOW DO WE KEEP HIM FROM GROWING UP THIS ISN'T FAIR!!!!
Ted had to comfort his wife while she clung to Severus the same way he did upon her graduation. Of course aside from how proud of him she was both her and Ted weren't pleased with the fact that he joined the death eaters (love struck fool is what Andromeda had concluded for why he joined). Ted had to keep her from going over to the Malfoy Manor and kill Lucius for corrupting her baby boy.
Luckily for them she didn't bother to try and kill Evan Rosier (solely cause she knows Sev would be upset at her if she did, he really liked him). Eventually Andromeda annouces that she is pregnant and Ted is beyond happy but Sev is unsure how to feel (he's a mama's boy, he jealous) Once she starts to show Sev would poke her stomach which both Andromeda and Ted found amusing. The day that she was to give birth was rather eventful, her and Sev had been folding laundry when her water broke which made him faint.
After getting to the hospital with an unconscious Severus and contacting her husband she had finally given birth to that of Nymphadora Tonks. Both her and Ted had been immensely happy although Ted had been crying the entire time that both Andromeda and Severus wanted to hex him. When they went home Andromeda had finally gotten Severus to hold Nymphadora and when she was placed in his arms he froze up in fear.
He didn't want to accidentally hurt her and cause Andromeda & Ted to hate him. Soon after that day Severus had begun to visit them less due to being a death eater and not wanting them to get hurt. Yet one day he came to visit and his face was covered in dried up tears, his eyes red and puffy. His heart breaking as he told Andromeda and Ted about the death of Evan Rosier, the boy who captured the sun in his hair and held the sky in eyes. It took Andromeda several days to get Severus to stop crying and a couple more to get him to eat.
As days passed with Severus still visiting less Andromeda had gone back to Hogwarts to see him and inform him about the death of Ted. When she saw Sev all she could do was pull him into a hug and cry her heart out, a few minutes later she had regained enough strength and soon told Severus which caused him to break down and cry alongside Andromeda who still had her arms wrapped around him. Time came and went with Severus no longer visiting, until one faithful night when he came barging into her home sobbing.
She knew exactly why her boy was so heart broken, she had just read the paper that stated the death of Lily Evans and James Potter. She held him until he fell asleep in her arms and took him home. After that Sev barely left Hogwarts only to visit the Malfoy's seeing as Lucius was a death eater himself Sev didn't have to worry much but when it came to Draco he tried his best to protect him. As life goes on Sev and Andromeda continue to write to eachother.
The both of them had saved every letter and would read them when they got lonely. Andromeda had promised Severus that she wouldn't tell Nymphadora about him due to fear that she might get hurt because everyone who seems to know about him ended up dead. Sad to say it wasn't long before Andromeda received news about the death of her daughter and her son-in-law Remus that had prompted Severus to go see her and stay a few nights to keep her safe. As the war continued and Andromeda sat safely in her home with her grandson in her arms she received a letter which shattered her world completely.
Why? because that letter stated that her boy, her precious shy little boy, that same boy who was scared of the world, that boy who'd come crying to her and seeking comfort after being bullied, that boy who would shyly ask her to read to him when they were alone, that same boy who managed to best every slytherin in his exams, that boy who she had claimed as hers upon seeing him, her brave boy Severus Snape was dead.
She didn't know what to do, she sat there reading the letter over and over in hopes that it wasn't true. Yet once she realized that her boy was dead she broke down and cried till her eyes had no more tears shed. She lost everyone she loved and cared for, well all except her grandson and she prayed to Merlin that no one would take him away from her.

Whatâs Your Sign?: Sagittarius
Genre: Celebrity!AU
Pairing: Choi Minho x You (Female!Reader)
Warnings: None
Words: 5,534
Authorâs Note: Since Iâm so fascinated by astrology, I decided to do a Zodiac series! I will be writing a one-shot fic for each sign featuring different members from different groups (and even an actor!). Each story will be posted on the 5th of the month during that signâs season. Please reblog, comment, or send in an ask with your feedback! Thank you for your support đ
Ever since youâd seen him in his first ever role on a television series about five years ago, youâd fallen in love with Minho.
Choi Minho, probably the most attractive man youâd ever seen. Through a screen, at least. You hadnât yet been lucky enough to see him in person.
And since youâd fallen in love with him after watching his very first episode of that television series, youâd done nothing but support him for the last several years.
You saw every one of his movies the day it released in theatres. You watched every single episode of every single television show he appeared in -- even if he was just a guest star.
His popularity from his first role had soared pretty quickly, which was really a win/win scenario. Minho, who presumably had been a struggling actor previously, was now flush with offers from directors. And you, an immediate superfan, got to spend a lot of virtual time with your new favorite actor -- because, not only did he act in a very large handful of projects every year, he was also interviewed on talk shows, featured in magazines, walking the red carpet of premieres and award shows. He didnât have a social media presence for some extremely odd reason, but you still felt like you knew him.
From everything youâd seen and read about him, Minho was outgoing, friendly, and charismatic. He was confident, straight-forward, and optimistic. He basically always had some version of a smile on his lips, and based on many posts in the Choi Minho subreddit, he never turned down an opportunity to meet a fan out in public.
He... was basically perfect.
And you couldnât stop yourself from daydreaming about one day meeting him, falling in love, getting married, and having about ten children together in the most beautiful house in the universe.
But, to be fair, your daydream wasnât entirely impossible!
You were a bit of a celebrity, yourself!
Kind of.
On the Internet.
You had started a YouTube Channel six years ago, and at first, you hadnât really had a clear vision for your videos. An absolutely rookie mistake, of course, but thereâs nothing you could do about it now.
Youâd started off with makeup tutorials because that had been the hottest YouTube trend at the time. But... you quickly discovered you werenât as good at makeup as one should be to post a tutorial online in good conscience. You also werenât quite good enough at doing your nails, cooking, or sewing to do videos about those.
For at least a few months, youâd been stumped. You knew you wanted your own YouTube channel -- you had a pretty fitting personality for it -- you just didnât have any one marketable skill.
Until, one day, you stumbled upon a video of a guy watching a K-Pop music video for the first time and reacting to it. That was literally it. The whole video had been just him watching and talking about it.
And you were very good at that. You loved watching things on a screen -- YouTube videos, television shows, movies, you name it! And you always had thoughts running through your head while you watched something. In fact, you frequently wished one of your friends had exactly the same taste in music, shows, and movies as you so you could voice those thoughts aloud to someone who actually wanted to listen.
So, how had you never thought of doing that on your YouTube channel?! There was obviously a market for it -- the guy youâd watched had a few hundred thousand subscribers, and since it was something you genuinely enjoyed doing, you werenât afraid of running out of content inspiration or motivation any time soon.
It was literally the perfect idea.
The next day, you had set up your camera, pulled up the first episode of your favorite television show of all time, and got to work. When you posted the video a few hours later (Re-watching my FAVORITE show of all time), something about it just felt right. Like the stars had aligned. No matter if you got five views or five thousand, you knew you were on the right path -- when it came to YouTube, at least.
Every day after that, you chose something else to watch -- a nostalgic movie, a viral YouTube video, the really cheesy musical episode of a television show. You tried to pick things from all along the spectrum, and you also tried to wait a few days in-between continuing on with your re-watch of your favorite show, simply for varietyâs sake.
Little by little, your channel began to grow. After work, you would film, edit, and post -- every single day. On the weekends, you would film two different videos in case you ever needed to take a day off. Or in case you just felt like posting two videos!
Your first sponsorship offer email had come about six months after youâd posted your first video, and your eyes had nearly fell out of your head when youâd seen how much theyâd offered you. (Looking back, your first paying YouTube gig really hadnât been that much money -- compared to what you could make now, at least -- but it had still been incredibly thrilling.) And, really, that had been the catalyst of your YouTube career and popularity. It seemed just the one sponsorship had been all youâd needed to catch the attention of other brands who wanted to work with you, and when you got to the point where you could actually afford to quit your job and turn down sponsorship offers you werenât wild about? Thatâs when you knew youâd made it.
Okay, but really, you knew youâd made it when one of your videos hit one million views for the first time (a video of you watching a particularly cringe-worthy teen movie from about ten years ago).
And now, six years later, you had almost four million subscribers, and your most viewed video had almost twenty million views. Sometimes, you still couldnât believe it!
The highlight of your time on YouTube so far -- at least, in your eyes -- had been when youâd seen Choi Minho for the first time about a year after starting your channel. Youâd still had less then one-hundred thousand subscribers back then, so if anyone ever left on a comment on a video mentioning how long youâd been a Minho fangirl or remembering when you first discovered him, you knew they were an OG subscriber. But ever since that video, you did absolutely nothing to hide your affinity for him, both as an actor and as a person. You watched and reacted to every single one of his movies and every single television show episode -- you even sometimes reacted to interviews or videos other fans had made about him.
Even when your channel hit some pretty big milestones -- five-hundred thousand subscribers, one million, two million, three million subscribers -- you never played it cool when it came to Choi Minho. You switched up your content and your editing style here and there, but one constant on your YouTube channel was the fact you let your inner fangirl shine for all the world to see.
In fact, just last month, the trailer for his new movie dropped, and you were able to upload your reaction to it within two hours. Since then, youâd read and watched every interview you could find, favorited every tweet about the upcoming film, and liked every post on the #ChoiMinho hashtag on Instagram. Since he had no social media, you had to be satisfied with other peopleâs content rather than his own.
You were scrolling through his hashtag on Instagram right now, actually, as you procrastinated getting out of bed to go set up for another day of filming.
Now that you had almost four million subscribers and were approached by more than several companies for sponsorships every single day, you were able to focus on your channel full-time. You definitely got cabin fever from time to time, but it was worlds better than filming after work and on weekends. Now, you could actually take a day off whenever you wanted! It was glorious!
But you still procrastinated working. You were still human, after all.
After you caught up on his hashtag and liked just about every picture you could, you navigated to your inbox to look through your DMs. Over the years, it had gotten pretty easy to skip past the spam and sugar daddy requests (which were plentiful, unfortunately), so you no longer dreaded checking the unread messages. You could usually tell which ones to delete straight away from the profile picture and first few words alone.
To be quite honest, you really only opened ones where you either could tell someone was genuinely reaching out to say hi or thank you for posting your videos or... messages with Minhoâs name visible in the preview. Shameless, but oh well!
After deleting a few messages at the top which were clearly spam, the next one you came to was actually one of those messages -- you saw âMinhoâ in the preview. It was the very first word, even! And in all caps.
You pressed on it as quickly as you could.
And when your eyes took in the rest of the message... your heart stopped.
MINHO WATCHED ONE OF YOUR VIDEOS!
...This had to be a prank, right?
But right after the message in all capital letters was a link to a YouTube video, and the preview for the video was right below the message.
It was one of those videos put out by a big fashion magazine where celebrities watch videos about them and react to it. Usually, musicians and singers would react to covers of their songs by fans, but every once in a while, actors would read tweets or watch fanmade videos about them.
And when you clicked on the link this person had sent, the video opened in your YouTube app to show the title âChoi Minho Watches Fan Videos on YouTube,â and your eyes widened.
If what the Instagram message said was true... Minho had watched not only a fan video... but your fan video. And since his movie was premiering in just a couple of days, he had most likely watched your reaction to the trailer.
Oh my god.
Oh my god.
Since the video had started automatically after clicking the link, you took a deep breath and concentrated all of your focus on your phone screen. You were not going to miss the part where he watched your video.
But, of course, after not even thirty seconds, you found you had already gotten distracted by how handsome he looked.
You quickly shook your head a bit, widening your eyes briefly before narrowing them to focus on your screen again. âCome on, Y/N,â you muttered to yourself. âYou can watch it again right after this to admire him.â
It was only a fifteen-minute video, so itâs not like you had to wait forever to get to the part where he watched you!
Still, though, as the minutes ticked by, you felt your heart begin to race in anticipation.
What would he say about you? Would he find your obsession with him creepy? I mean, it had to be a little creepy watching someone squeal and profess their love for you -- someone youâd never met!
But, then... when you got really mushy comments... most of the time, it didnât feel creepy. It just felt sweet, and you were incredibly grateful that a lot of your subscribers and viewers were so supportive.
Ugh! You were getting off track again!
You shook your head once more and set your gaze back onto your phone screen.
Finally, when the clip of Minho watching a fanmade music video transitioned into the clip of him watching your video, your breath caught in your throat.
Were you going to survive this?
Outcome is unclear.
âOh, yeah, I know her,â Minho said as your trailer reaction video began to play in the corner. âSheâs the reaction girl, right?â
Your jaw dropped.
................Excuse me?!
Minho knew you?!
As you watched Minho watching you with the most adorable soft grin on his lips, your hand slowly crept up to cover your mouth in shock.
And, then, when you in the video paused the trailer to bring up another one of his movies that this trailer had reminded you of, his grin widened and he looked very pleased. âShe knows her stuff, huh?â
You heard someone behind the camera murmuring something, and subtitles appeared on the screen. âSheâs a known superfan, actually.â
Minhoâs brow furrowed and he leaned toward the camera. âSheâs what?â
âA superfan,â the person repeated, a little bit louder. âSheâs known to her viewers for watching all of your movies and shows. There are always comments about you on all of her videos.â
Minhoâs eyes widened a little in surprise. âReally? All of them? Comments about me?â He leaned back and nodded slowly after, apparently, receiving a positive answer. âI had no idea. Iâve just seen her videos about, like, the cheesy teen movies we watched as kids.â
You truly almost dropped your phone.
So... he knew who you were, but he hadnât known that you fangirled over him on a regular basis?
First of all, how was that possible?
Second of all, did it really matter?! He knew who you were!
He knew who you were!
You didnât expect that he regularly watched your videos, but still.
HE KNEW WHO YOU WERE!
Your heart was practically beating out of your chest as you watched him finish up watching your reaction video. The look on his face was one of delight, and even though you knew he was a good actor, it sure didnât seem like he was simply pretending not to be creeped out.
âSheâs so fun,â he smiled as your video ended, his gaze shifting back to the person he had spoken with earlier. âShe has more? Like, for my movies?â
The person mumbled something back, and this time, there were no subtitles on the bottom of the video. But Minhoâs eyebrows shot up immediately.
âAll of my movies?â he asked. And then he let out a joyous chuckle and added, âNo way.â
He quickly turned to the computer and clicked on your channel name.
But the video transitioned into another clip of someone elseâs video, so you didnât get to see if he actually watched any other ones.
Even if he hadnât, you were still overjoyed -- to say the least -- that he had watched just one!
He knew who you were! He had actually known who you were before this which was probably the most surprising thing youâd ever heard in your entire life. (Besides the fact that Minho was currently single. That was definitely more surprising than anything.)
After sitting in your bed for a few minutes, staring blankly at your screen as the video finished up, your gaze unfocused and blurry, you finally came to when you realized the video had ended.
And then you proceeded to freak out.
You squealed and shrieked and kicked your legs and rolled around and scrambled to your feet to jump up and down on your bed with glee.
Was this the best day of your life?
Quite possibly!
Once youâd calmed down just a tad, you plopped back into a sitting position, crossing your legs into a pretzel as you navigated back to Instagram.
You sent a reply to the person whoâd sent you the video (âOH MY GOD THANK YOU HE KNOWS ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!â) and then refreshed your inbox.
As expected, a whole new slew of messages came through and literally every single one seemed to be about the video.
Your lips split into a huge grin, and just before you clicked on a random one to read and reply to it... you noticed that one message had a blue check by the sender.
Pausing, you shifted your gaze to that message.
And your heart jumped up into your throat when you recognized the name of the account.
Obviously, it wasnât Minho himself because he didnât have one.
But it was the next best thing.
His management company.
You followed them, of course, and liked every single picture about him or with him. Of course!
But you had never gathered up the courage to message them. Youâd had no reason to! What would you have said?
And now they were messaging you.
The several days following the video of Minho watching your video had been... a blur. To say the least.
You still werenât even really sure how youâd gotten here.
I mean, you knew you were here because Minhoâs management company had direct messaged you on Instagram inviting you to the premiere of his movie and you had accepted without one millisecond of hesitation and then youâd gotten on a plane a couple of days later and then checked into a super nice hotel and had a stylist and makeup artist sent to your room and after many hours you now looked better than you ever had in your entire life.
Thatâs how you got here.
But you still werenât even really sure how youâd gotten here.
A rather large stroke of luck?
Good karma?
Hard work to grow your YouTube channel into something that would make you more easily recognizable by actual celebrities and their management companies?
Or a combination of the three?
Either way, you were overwhelmed with gratitude, and you knew you would never be able to forget this experience -- even if you, for some odd reason, wanted to.
I mean, you were currently in a really nice car, and the driver (yes, you had a driver!) was taking you to the red carpet.
The red carpet!
An actual movie premiere! With an actual red carpet!
And the movie was Minhoâs movie.
You were at the premiere of Minhoâs movie.
Oh my god, what if you saw him?!
As the car rolled to a stop in front of a crowded theatre, your heart and stomach dropped down to your very expensive and gorgeous shoes.
Youâd gone to somewhat fancy events before -- it came with the job of being a YouTuber -- but never anything like this. Never an actual movie premiere. Never the chance of seeing your favorite actor in the history of time. And, obviously, never walking a red carpet.
Your door magically opened just as the car stopped moving, and a hand popped out of nowhere to assist you in exiting the vehicle. As gracefully as you could, you slipped your fingers into the mysterious palm, allowing it to gently pull you up and out of your seat and onto the sidewalk.
Almost immediately, camera clicks, light bulb flashes, and inquiring voices filled the air.
Cameras and lights in your face, you were used to. It was your everyday life, in fact!
But... all these people? Looking at you? Watching you? Taking pictures of you?
I mean, yeah, a few million people watched your videos. But it was absolutely not the same as a hundred or so reporters and photographers standing right in front of you.
Thankfully, some short but very powerful woman guided you onto the red carpet, muttering to you that all you had to do was stand in front of the backdrop, pose and smile for the cameras, and then move on to the next mark. Some reporters from news and entertainment channels would be waiting along the way to interview you (which didnât scare you quite so much as youâd been interviewed a few times before), and all in all, it would take about an hour.
But it took you way less than an hour to discover that walking a red carpet is not as glamorous as it looks on television.
Walking like your shoes were covered in almost-frozen molasses so every photo taken was a good one. Switching back and forth between facial expressions so every photo taken wasnât the same one. And do you know how many good places there are to put your hands when posing for a picture? Exactly two. One was on your hip and the other at your side. That was it. Definitely not clasped in front of or behind you, and definitely not tucking your hair behind your ear.
And just when you were sort of getting used to the constant posing for pictures, another short but powerful woman gently grabbed your arms and led you to a reporter from the most-watched entertainment news channel in the country.
âHello, hello!â the perky reporter chirped as you approached her. âCome on over here!â
âHi,â you greeted awkwardly as you made your way to the small mark on the ground next to her, holding up your skirt with one hand so you wouldnât trip.
âY/N! Good evening, good evening, how are you doing?â she asked before sticking the microphone in your face.
You had to quickly get over the shock of her knowing your name since you didnât want to look like a fool on live television, so you forced a grin on your lips and answered, âIâm pretty overwhelmed, actually!â you chuckled.
âIs this your first time at a red carpet?â
âIt is, yes,â you confirmed with a slight nod. âAnd Iâm so used to being alone in my house, talking to myself in front of a camera, so this is all new territory for me.â
The reporter laughed with delight before asking which designer you were wearing. You answered her with ease since your stylist had drilled it into your brain before youâd left the hotel.
Then, after she asked you to tell the folks at home what youâre known for, she said, âItâs a pretty fun story of how you got here, isnât it?â
âOh, it is,â you answered, your lips pulling into a shy but excited grin. âI woke up one morning to a message on Instagram, and someone had sent me --â
The reporter interrupted you then, and you noticed her gaze was directed over your shoulder. You turned to look, and --
Well, the next few moments happened so quickly, you really had no idea how you reacted.
âY/N!â Minho called out, smiling widely and waving before reaching out and sliding his hands over your shoulders. He stood next to you, squeezing you once before letting his arms drop down to his side. âIâm so sorry for interrupting --â
âNo, we were just talking about why sheâs here at your premiere!â
Minhoâs smile brightened even more, and he continued on with the story youâd been telling.
Meanwhile, you were standing there. Mute. Staring at him.
Because oh my god.
How was it actually possible that Minho was more handsome in real life?
But also, how was it actually possible that Minho was standing next to you in real life?
But also also, how was it actually possible that Minho was real?
Thatâs the real question, isnât it?
You came to when you heard him say, âYes, this is our first time meeting,â before turning to you and holding out his hand for a handshake. âItâs so nice to finally meet you!â
You took his hand, shaking it weakly, and said the first thing that came to your mind:Â âOh my god, hi.â
The reporter giggled, but Minho, instead of acting embarrassed for you, simply let go of your hand and moved to pull you into a hug.
Holy cannoli, Minho was hugging you.
Choi Minho. Was hugging. You.
Hugging!
You!
âItâs so nice to finally meet you!â he repeated with a grin after pulling away, though he was still incredibly close to you and gazing at you with those sparkling, dreamy eyes of his.
âYou, too,â you managed to reply shakily.
The reporter then went on to interview Minho, asking him who had designed his suit, what his character in this new movie was like, and if he was working on any new projects.
âIâm in the early stages of something, yes,â he answered. âI donât think I can say too much more, but in the meantime, I think Iâd really like to film some videos with Y/N, branch out onto social media.â
Your heart stopped, and you knew your facial expression was doing nothing to hide your surprise.
Minho then turned to you with an adorably guilty look on his face. âI mean, if itâs alright with you, of course.â
âYes, absolutely!â you burst out immediately, and the reporter giggled once again.
âWell, there you have it, guys,â she said after turning to face the camera. âYou heard it here first -- a brand new collaboration in the works, so keep an eye out.â
She turned to you then and asked you to remind the viewers of the name of your YouTube channel. You leaned into the microphone and silently praised the lord you were able to remember it.
âThanks so much, you two,â the reporter said with a very peppy grin. âHave a wonderful evening!â
âYou, as well,â Minho answered before putting a hand in-between your shoulder blades and guiding you back to the red carpet.
Wait, he was guiding you back to the red carpet? He wasnât... leaving?
âIâm so sorry,â he murmured in your ear, his breath causing the most delicious tingle down your spine. âI swear I wasnât trying to be rude, I just wanted to meet you --â
âNo,â you shook your head slightly. âItâs -- itâs totally fine. It wasnât rude at all. Iâm -- I just -- Iâm a little overwhelmed. In a good way!â
âTotally understand. I remember my first movie premiere like it was yesterday, I know exactly how youâre feeling.â
You simply let out a nervous chuckle, but then Minho did something to make you even more nervous (which you hadnât even been sure was possible).
He bent his arm and held out the crook of his elbow toward you.
âShall we?â
Okay, you were now convinced this was a dream. This was all a wonderful, perfect, heavenly dream.
There was just no way that any of this could happen in real life! Being invited to Minhoâs movie premiere was one thing, but him interrupting your interview on the red carpet and mentioning he wanted to film a YouTube video with you? Him offering to actually walk the red carpet with you on his arm?!
Nope. Definitely not real.
So, since this was absolutely a dream, you figured youâd just go with it!
âWe shall,â you replied as a soft smile tugged at the corners of your lips.
You slid your hand into the crook of Minhoâs elbow, and the two of you slowly made your way down the red carpet. Together.
It didnât take long for you to be awed by his professionalism. When the cameras began to flash, he posed like a natural. It seemed so easy for him, but you figured it probably was easy after going through this so many times.Â
He murmured helpful hints and reassuring words to you as you struggled through, and he even insisted on doing his interviews with you by his side.
(Of course, before the two of you approached each reporter, he asked you quietly if you would rather have the spotlight all to yourself. He didnât want to usurp your first experience on the red carpet and would gladly step away so you could finish the process on your own. You declined every single time.)
When you finally reached the entrance to the theatre about an hour later, you figured Minho would say it had been nice to meet you and be on his way.
But you shouldâve remembered that this was a dream!
âDo you want to come inside? We can sit together during the movie if you want. I mean, youâre pretty much my unofficial date already, but you can absolutely say ânoâ if you donât --â
âI would love to,â you interrupted, your voice more sure and firm than it had been all evening.
But hearing your favorite actor and biggest crush of all time declare that you were his date for the night would do that to you. Plus, Minho literally exuded confidence and warmth -- youâd always thought so while watching him on a screen, and it was both relieving and exciting to learn he was exactly the same in real life.
Minho smiled at you and then led you into the theatre, your heart now basically in a constant state of flips and somersaults.
Once the two of you took your seats in front of the screen, Minho turned slightly toward you.
âI have to admit, Iâve been watching your videos a lot since I filmed the reaction for the magazine,â he said with the most attractive half-smile youâd ever seen in your life. âSeriously, thank you so much for being so supportive.â
âOh my god, no, thank you,â you replied breathlessly. âI canât believe you watched my videos.â
âTheyâre kind of addicting,â he chuckled. âI donât know what it is, but I definitely understand why you have so many subscribers. I actually created my own YouTube account just so I could subscribe to you.â
Your eyes widened, and your heart actually stopped somersaulting because it stopped beating altogether.
âAre you serious?â you asked.
âYouâre so entertaining! It feels like watching those movies and shows with a friend. And I like how youâre really honest but still nice about it. You donât seem to have a cruel bone in your body.â
âUh, no, I think youâre getting me mixed up with yourself,â you replied with a somewhat awkward laugh.
Minho simply grinned at you, and the somersaults started back up inside your chest.
âI was serious about wanting to film with you, though,â he said, eyebrows raised earnestly. âI would love to collab --â
âYes, absolutely,â you reassured him as fervently as you could. âLiterally whenever. Please. Yes.â
âOkay, good,â Minho chuckled before reaching into his pocket and sliding out his phone. âHere, give me your number so I can let you know when Iâm free next.â
You hesitated before accepting his phone because...
What?!
Minho was giving you his phone. His actual phone. So you could put in your number? Your number?
This night just kept getting more and more unbelievable.
But you were never in a million years going to pass up the opportunity to give Choi Minho your phone number, so you took his phone and quickly added yourself as a contact.
âPerfect,â Minho murmured, almost to himself, when you handed his phone back to him. He looked at the screen for a few moments, and you noticed a soft grin pulling at his lips. And then he shifted his gaze over to you and said, âI canât wait.â
And... as your eyes locked on his...
You had a moment.
A moment.
One of those moments you will never, ever forget as long as you lived.
One of those moments where your future basically flashed before your eyes.
Minho arriving at your house to film a video with you, a friendship forming, late night texts and phone conversations, going out to restaurants whenever he was in town... a more than friendship forming.
And you truly couldâve sworn this was not just your heart wishing, but... you honestly felt like you were going to marry this man.
âI canât either,â you replied softly just before the lights went down.
The first thing you did when you got home was set up your camera and film a video relaying everything about your experience at Minhoâs movie premiere.
Of course, you didnât mention The Moment -- yâknow, the moment you had when you realized you were most probably going to marry him? And you could just feel that it wasnât wishful thinking? You figured it was probably best to keep that to yourself for now.
But everything else you shared with your subscribers, and you did nothing to hide how wonderful and magical it had all been -- and it had really been Minho which had made it so perfect.
âAnd you guys, he is truly exactly the same in person as he seems in, like, interviews and stuff. Heâs so nice and so friendly and so warm and so gracious and --â
But you were interrupted by a text message.
Most of the time, you left your phone on silent as you filmed, but youâd been too excited to get all of your thoughts out that youâd forgotten to switch the sound off before turning the camera on.
âWhoops,â you murmured as you reached for your phone on your desk in front of you.
Instead of simply turning your phone on silent, though, the actual text message youâd received caught your eye and was too intriguing to ignore.
It was from a number you didnât have saved, but your instinct to read the first few words of a message from an unknown sender took over... and you were incredibly glad it did.
Because the message was:
Hey, itâs Minho đ Are you free next week?

well, i finally 100% completed hyrule warriors age of calamity in its entirety, including post game content, so iâm finally going to write a full review. beware this review will contain every spoiler imaginable so please do not click the read more if you havenât finished the game yet and donât want to be spoiled!
tl,dr; this game is a lot of fun despite some of its shortcomings and itâs really nice to see characters get the development they needed in breath of the wild. also a huge improvement gameplay-wise from the first game. if youâre a fan of breath of the wild itâs worth a try, just donât expect breath of the wild style of gameplay! and if youâre a fan of the original hyrule warriors, you are going to love this a lot. ok now to get into the details. this is extremely long;
about the gameplay; it took me a while to fully adjust to the new controls and mechanics, but once i finally understood it it was so much fun. i originally wasnât crazy about the sheikah slate runes since it was difficult at first to remember that a. i had that ability, and b. when the proper time to use it was. but when it finally clicked for me it brought a whole new interesting layer to the gameplay that challenged my memory in a fun way. it took me even longer to learn what the use of the rods were but those were great in a pinch once i figured it out. i also loved the flurry rush mechanic since dodging is a pretty important aspect of the gameplay. all these new layers added to this gameplay makes me wonder how i ever put up with the original hyrule warriors gameplay lol. something i wasnât entirely crazy about was the wall jumping and paraglider stuff? i never really found it useful and it always just became a problem when i was trying to dodge and iâd be confused about why my character was slowly flying around at critical moments.
the camera in this game was pretty frustrating. with the more organic map & lots of tight spaces (which iâll get more into later), the camera would get stuck a lot and youâd be unable to really see whatâs going on and it got pretty frustrating at times. i wish there were some way they could fix that but iâm not sure what they could do without having the camera go out of bounds & show the edges of the map. maybe they couldâve made some of the objects that are in the middle not be things the camera get stuck on though.
i also felt like there were too many special effects going on with some enemies and attacks, sometimes it would cover up large parts of the screen & you wouldnât be able to see what you were fighting and that was pretty stressful (i found myself frequently yelling âi canât see!!â when iâd defeat a guardian or something in a room with lots of other enemies. this only became an issue in the later parts of the game though.
now about the maps, i do love how much more organic and natural they are. itâs a big upgrade from the original which had a lot of wide corridors leading into square rooms which were allied/enemy basses. but unfortunately, this causes issues with navigation and the camera getting stuck (like i mentioned before). i had a lot of problems where the map was too natural and i was confused about why i was getting stuck on level geometry when it looked like i could walk through there. i think the breath of the wild style makes this confusing too because you canât really undo a thousand hours of being able to walk through nearly everything. but also it was just really unclear what was a wall and what wasnât sometimes. i was surprised i actually had to zoom in on the mini map and look at that to move around at times. definitely an ambitious aspect of the game & i appreciate the effort and detail, but i donât know if it works that great for this style of gameplay. i also donât know why they bothered putting so many small details on the ground if theyâre just going to pop in so close to the camera. it was kind of awkward when you cleared out all the enemies & were traveling to another location and it was the only noticable thing on screen.
speaking of ambitious, we canât ignore this gameâs framerate issues. itâs the first thing on everyoneâs minds when talking about this game. most of the time, it was pretty acceptable. but they definitely pushed this game farther than the switch can go and it shows. i really appreciate the love they put into making this game as detailed as they did, but i donât know if it was worth it in the long run. thereâs only a couple times i can think of where the framerates got absolutely unacceptable, and it always seemed to be when there was a lot of electricity and enemies on screen at the same time. it happened once during the final vah naboris mission and another time where there were a ton of electric lizalfos all shooting electricity at once at the same time you have to fight an electric lynel. but, iâm not the kind of gamer that loses my shit over dropped framerates, i grew up with the n64 & have had to put up with poor early emulation many times in my life so framerates donât really phase me until it just gets unplayable.
wasnât crazy about how many late game missions were just boss rushes, but thatâs pretty standard hyrule warriors fare. at least it was more fair in this game where most of the time you only had to fight one boss at a time and the next boss wouldnât spawn in until you beat the first one, so there was no risk of accidentally aggro-ing a boss in another part of the map & have an unfair fight on your hands like in the first game. it was pretty anti-climactic how the seemingly final mission which had the highest recommended level was just another boss rush, and not even the hardest one (it was just a bunch of regular malice bosses in a row).
bit of a side note but i didnât like having to grind for materials and find koroks for 100%. the koroks werenât nearly as bad as breath of the wild though, thank god.
iâm pretty disappointed that some content thatâs clearly in the game isnât unlocked in the base game, itâs looking pretty likely that theyâll add it as dlc later & pretend itâs new content to make the game relevant again...iâve always firmly believed dlc should be extra content thatâs added in later. hopefully theyâll add some really cool stuff as dlc alongside the stuff thatâs in the game & it wonât be so disappointing. thereâs two characters i was sure would be unlocked as playable characters (sooga and astor) but i found it weird that you donât get them in the post game and instead you get to play as the egg guardian (terrako) and calamity ganon???? talk about subverting expectations. also really frustrated to learn that zeldaâs royal dress isnât available in the base game but its in the files & is just missing one body part?? really hope thatâs just a free update and not like, paid dlc. kind of dumb that they didnât give the devs one extra day to model feet on the character.
about the story; the story starts out really strong i feel, i loved seeing characters get the development they didnât get in breath of the wild and this gameâs story makes breath of the wildâs story feel even more incomplete than it did before this game came out. and actually seeing the story play out in chronological order in real time without link having amnesia gave the story so much more feeling and connection. this is probably my favorite aspect of this game because i was always so disappointed with how disconnected you feel in breath of the wild because of the way the story is told. and it does so much of a better job illustrating link and zeldaâs feelings. iâm probably the single most difficult person to convince when it comes to link and zelda being in a relationship or having feelings for eachother and i thought this was quite possibly the best master sword scene in any zelda game;
in previous games link has always had to prove his courage in a variety of trials spread across the land and to me its really boring, especially after how many times its been done. the thing that gets me about this scene is the master sword deems him worthy because of his desire to protect zelda even when heâs been beaten down & disarmed. that was a really beautiful moment to me & iâm glad they wrote the scene this way.
speaking of being worthy of power because you want to protect someone, i wasnât really that crazy of zelda unlocking her power just because she loves link but honestly this game illustrated it in a much better way & iâm more down with it now. i loved this shot how it really captured what she was feeling;
itâs also in general awesome to see the champions in action, both in gameplay and in cutscenes. i remember being in awe the first time i got to play as urbosa. it feels like we finally really got to know them and how powerful they really were, instead of breath of the wild just telling us they were cool & we just had to believe it.
now for the part i know people say this game is shit because of; the time travel aspect. yeah, itâs a little silly and nonsensical, but honestly, it was kind of fun. and i donât get how a time travel plot is somehow weird for the zelda series. the most critically acclaimed game of this series, ocarina of time, is entirely revolved around a time travel plot & the heroes would not have won if it werenât for time travel in that game. yeah, itâs goofy, but this series is known for its nonsensical aspects & plotholes. thereâs always some kind of unexplainable magic in this series that solves problems. i donât think that makes this game shit. plus i was kind of starstruck when i first got to play as sidon lol. i was thinking to myself, man, who wouldâve known 3 years later weâd get to play as sidon! crazy! none of the champion descendants were really my favorite to play as but it was still cool to see them & play as them.
something i didnât understand was why kohga and the yiga clan joined zeldaâs cause? i feel like a vital scene got cut. i donât get why heâd join even when astor betrayed him, considering his groupâs ambitions and how many times they tried to kill zelda. and whereâd sooga go? the scene of astor betraying them kind of implied he was going to die but we never got confirmation of that, and he even shows up in a post game mission as an ally (no cutscene, just one line of dialogue during gameplay)
as for the ending, i guess it was alright? astor was a really lazily written villain and i just did not care for him at all. kinda donât even care that we donât get to play as him (yet, probably). calamity ganonâs design in this game was terrible. and i guess it wouldâve been hard to make it work, but no beast ganon? just felt a little to easy to wrap up. despite this i guess it was nice to see hyrule get a happier ending even if it was a bit nonsensical at times. also this is just a bit of a personal thing for me but i liked seeing hyrule before it was destroyed. it always bums me out when you find a locaiton in game thatâs been destroyed & you can only think about what it mightve looked like before. this is something thatâs bummed me out since wind waker (was always disappointed you donât get to see what greatfish isle is like!!) and breath of the wild gave me so much disappointment in that aspect lol.
one final thought but it was odd to me how many lines revali got & how often he interacted with link lol. was weird to see him slowly warm up to link a little towards the end (but of course heâs still a little mean...). no other character acknowledges link as much as revali. this scene confused me the most??
there were so many other people revali couldâve spoken to. he barely even acknowledges teba who was the one who specifically came to his aid!! and the way link looks at him with big puppy eyes?? link barely makes a facial expression at anyone else! and how revali expresses gratitude for the first time in his life after looking at linkâs stupid cute anime face and smiles (but he turns around because he would be too ashamed to smile at link i guess)
anyway thatâs it, i finally got out all my thoughts about this game. this went on way longer than i intended and iâm sorry if you read the whole thing & it took forever lol. this game is fun, get it.

Reader Profile:Â Kiwi05622
The Dramione Comment Fest is the fest where readers take center stage! Weâre excited to feature profiles of some of our readers throughout the course of the fest. First up, we have the most delightful and lovely @kiwi05622â!
Location: Middle East Hogwarts House: Slytherin Pronouns: she/her When did you start reading Dramione? How did you originally find fics to read? I started reading in 2017⊠I think. Or was it 18? I'm not sure anymore. But one of those years lol! So yes, I'm still relatively new to the fandom. But I have devoured so much that it's come to the point where all the stories I've read have started to mingle with each other, and I can't tell you which story is which unless it had a massive impression on me and stood out. How did I find fics? I had this friend of mine, who was a closeted fic reader (I will never forgive her for not introducing me to this world sooner) that kept on dropping these obscure hints my way whenever Harry Potter would come up in our discussions, which was often. She would call me and ask what I'm doing, and my answer would either be, I'm reading HP, or watching one of the movies. She never once judged me or asked me why I'm spending so much time re-reading and rewatching, and I love her for that. One night, she got a little frustrated with me when I whined about NEEDING MORE of it, and she snapped. She was like KIWI JUST GIVE ME TWO CHARACTERS THAT YOU LOVE, and I shyly replied Hermione and Draco? She had the audacity to sigh (she is not a Dramione lover by any means). She sent me a link to Ao3 with a message "Welcome to my life, and I wish you luck stepping foot inside this black hole. Bye.â because I didn't know better. I didn't know what I was getting myself into, I clicked on the FIRST link I found, and this is how Bleak Manor by Pushthebutton became the first story that made me -surprisingly- fall in love with Dramione and fan fiction. How have you gotten more involved in the Dramione community? What platforms/websites have you participated in, and which do you like? I'm not VERY involved in the fandom, if I'm honest. I'm an introvert by nature. Even though I started reading years ago, I only started joining Facebook groups last year. From there, I stumbled onto Tumblr (which was the weirdest platform I've ever been on, but now I LOVE IT), which then led me to Discord. This is where I'm currently stationed. I'm not as active as I used to be on Facebook. I also reached out to many people on Discord and found friends that I no longer call "internet friends," and I find it easier to communicate to authors over there.
Tell us about any reading preferences or practices! Okay, I won't talk about my past habits, because looking back, it was really unhealthy. But I remember I used to read at every waking hour; I would only *sleep* to generate energy to keep ongoing: Goodbye food and social life. However, now, I dedicate time to reading, and it's usually 2 hours before I sleep. So I'll have dinner, and then open up my kindle and read until my eyes can't stay open. My days are usually spent talking to friends and doing many things that need to get done. I started off reading with my laptop until my boyfriend got annoyed by the bright lights emanating from my screen (honestly I didn't even think about reading from my phone). He later suggested reading from the iPad, and I stuck to that for a fair bit, until one night, I ran out of battery, and I couldnât find the charger, so I reluctantly read from my phone, which I later obviously loved. I could read on the train, while making dinner, taking a walk (because we all need to exercise at some point). Then, after my boyfriend was SURE this wasn't just a phase, and I'll probably be reading for the rest of my life, he surprised me with a kindle, and the rest is history. Â
Do you like to leave comments? If so, what is your advice for leaving comments? If I'm completely honest with you, sometimes. I'm guilty of moving on from a chapter to chapter without taking a moment to comment. Telling myself that I'll go back and let the author know how much I enjoyed this part or that part. But I forget. Once I'm done with a story, I want to MOVE ON to the next one. However, in the past year, I've made an active effort to write down everything I feel on my phone while I read on my kindle, so I can go back and paste my review. Thatâs the other thing, I read SO much from my kindle, that it makes it so easy to forget to go back online and submit a review. And with Discord, I usually read with my friends, and sometimes the author will be there while we talk, theorise and flail all over their work. It's a much more interactive experience. I think authors would prefer that over a thank you. This isn't to say that a thank you doesn't go a long way or isn't appreciative, but honestly, how many times can an author say you're welcome? Or thank you for reading? This takes me to the second part of your question. The one advice I would give is, don't expect a response back. Do it because you genuinely liked it. Suppose we keep expecting and wanting the author to respond, especially if a chapter gets SO MANY reviews. In that case, it might seem disheartening to the reviewer, and they're left feeling unseen or that their review was lacking, which isn't the case most of the time. Tell them how it made you feel, which parts did you love, which string of emotion was plucked and left vibrating in your chest. Tell them that. But also, saying a simple thank you is enough. Personally, I would go to the last chapter and tell the author how much I've enjoyed their story if it's a story that was posted years or months back. If it's a story published years ago and they seem inactive, I would slide into their DMs and flail all over the story. You'd be surprised how many actually respond.
What is your all-time favorite fic youâve read? ALL TIME FAVOURITE is such a difficult question to answer. So Iâll compromise and tell you which one I really really really LOVE but also list a few that I can't be parted with. If my room was caught on fire and I had all these stories in front of me and I had to only choose ONE I would say Risk Reward Ratio by @MissiAmphetamine and its sequel! Okay, I know I cheated, but *sigh* honestly I love it. And Iâm not sorry about it either. It's not what you would typically hear because it's not really a fluffy story and there are some questionable actions, plots and letâs not start discussing their relationship. But you see, I enjoy a story that questions my morals sometimes, where I find myself asking âwhat would I do in this situation?â Plus, as youâll see below, I have a thing for angst with a happy ending. That being said, I also love love love these stories and they each hold meaning to me, because I've read them at various stages of my life:Â
Redemption by @anondracomalfoy (wonderfully written story and very enjoyable!!! Itâs a memory trope mixed with some suspense)
Revert by SUPRNTRAL LVR (this is when I found out that I can actually cry while reading a story lol)Â
Remain Nameless by @heyjude19-writing (I will FOREVER love this story and no one can taint it for me. If you ONLY knew how much this story means to me *cough* I spent every moment I wasnât reading this making her moodboards that's how much it moved me *cough*)
The Art of Betrayal by @hathawaywrites
Across The Hall by @takingflight48 (this one just hold a special place in my heart)
Thirteenth Night by Nelpher (This is the story that changed my mind about memory loss trope which is my LEAST favourite)
Nightmares and Nocturnes by @olivieblake (one of the most creative and unique war stories ever written)
Hindsight by @floorcoaster (This changed my mind about T rated stories)
Broken by @inadaze22 (this taught me a lesson to READ THE TAGS, but the pain was worth it)
Sugar and Spice by @inlovewithforever (ummmm do I need to say more? This is one of the best triads I've ever read)
Looking Glass by @kyonomikoâ (Every time I'm in a rut I go back to THIS and it never fails to bring me back to life and remind me why I fell in love with these two. It's light hearted, funny and has my second OTP. it's a win-win for me)
Find Your Way Back by @willhavetheirtrinketsâ (Musyc) (I will forever rec this story to everyone)
Pound of Flesh by @pennilynnovusâ (HELLO STRIPPER DRACO! This one tore my heart out, I love it!)
Honestly, the list can go on and on and on. There are just SO many good ones out there that I haven't mentioned yet, but I wanted to list only a few that I will always go back and re-read. Also, just because I haven't mentioned the ones that we keep seeing everywhere, doesn't mean I didn't enjoy them or loved them!Â
What fic gave you the most feels? Definitely âRisk Reward Ratio.â It gave me SO much feels. Some were good, and some were pretty bad. It took me on a wild roller coaster ride. I was happy, sad, angry, happy, sad, angry. I laughed hard in some places, I cried even harder in others, I wanted to pull my hair out MOST of the time, and some parts were oh so good the butterflies wouldn't settle the fuck down. But ehh I like what I like, and I'm unapologetic about it. :D
Who is your favorite side character from any Dramione fic? This one is easy! Theo-fucking-Nott! Without a shadow of a doubt. You want to make him the most awesome sidekick character, go right ahead. The best bro, be my guest. The one that has secret feelings for Hermione? GIVE ME THAT TRIAD!!!!! You dare to make him evil? FUCK YES! I'm SO here for it. Even if he is one, I will STILL love him. I always get slightly giddy when Theo makes an appearance, and I tend to enjoy the story that much more. He's an interesting character to me because he's ambiguous. Canon never gave us much about his personality and reading how everyone interprets him makes him one the most versatile characters in my humble opinion. :D
Last question: Do you really like kiwis?? Hahaha!!!! Yes, I really do. This name was given to me by the people who were worried I had a mild obsession with kiwis. You don't have to ask me what I need from the store, because my answer would always be âwe've run out of kiwis, BRING ME SOME MORE.â However, let me just make it clear that I'm not a heathen and I don't eat them with their skin on (no judgment if you do).
Thank you so much, Kiwi, for sharing with us! The Dramione community is lucky to have you <3Â

Thereâs Snow Place Like Home*
*the back of the pawnshop
Merry Happy, @silwenworld. How nice to reveal myself; and with a present, too!
summary: Two dumdums get snowed in, and when the heat goes out they have to get creative about staying warm.

The door to Game of Thorns opened, pulling Belle from her current paperback. Any pique she felt vanished instantly when she saw who entered.
âMr. Gold, hello.â She straightened, tugging at the ends of her sweater. She wished sheâd had time to put on lipstick that morning. Or any makeup. She just bought a new thing of mascara, too.
âMiss French,â he greeted. His smile was polite, and short lived; Gold turned his attention to the shelf of vases her father had moved closer to the door last week.
Belle tried not to deflate.
âWhat can I help you with today?â she asked. He was wearing the dark blue shirt, the one with the subtle paisley. It was her favorite, and not because she had a near-matching dress, the lace just as deep and swirling.
Mr. Gold picked up a square vase, also blue. He turned it over, but to check the price or the construction, she wasnât sure.
âI was thinking of a bouquet, today,â he said to the glass. âSomething red, perhaps.â
Belle appreciated the sharp line of his jaw, and how it cut such a nice silhouette while he spoke. âWe have carnations, or amaryllis. Those are always nice.â
He made a sound to indicate he was listening, but didnât turn to look at her. Belleâs shoulders drooped, just a little.
âWe also got a new batch of roses, but I remember you ordered those last time.â
He set the vase down, careful not to jostle the shelf. It was a simple movement, his hand placing the glass on the wood, then letting go. His fingers were long, steady, clearly used to handling delicate things. She wondered if he approached everything with such confidence, such assurance that he knew how to touch, handle, and care for. Was he as good with people as objects?
âThe roses will do,â he said.
âRoses, right.â She blinked, torn from her fantasy. Her face felt hot, and she hoped her blush wasnât obvious.Â
For fuckâs sake, Belle, she chided herself.
She reached for the order pad by the register and hoped she could get through the interaction without embarrassing herself further.
She could not.
âTheyâre my favorite, you know.â She smiled at his still turned face.
âYes, youâve mentioned.â His voice was dry, bored.Â
Belle looked down at the pad. The stubby pencil rubbed against her finger.
âTheyâre nice flowers,â she couldnât help but add. When Gold said nothing else, she asked, âWould you like the vase, too?â
âNo, thank you.â
He approached the register, and Belle absolutely did not look up. She refused to watch the sway of his hips as he walked with his cane. He was so fluid and elegant. Not that she was watching him now. But she did risk a peak as he approached, catching the glint of his gold-tipped cane, the nice burgundy of his tie. She had a belt that color, or near enough. It would look good with her blue dress.
For a wild moment, she wondered what heâd do if she leaned over the counter and kissed him. Would he stumble back, shocked? Would heâkiss back? Perhaps lace his hands in her hair while hers tugged at his lapels, urging him closer, taking the breath from his lungsâ
A sharp trill emanated from Mr. Goldâs pocket.
Belle looked down, quickly, her face hot.
Gold sighed, reaching into his pocket. He made a face at the caller ID. âAdd the amount to my account,â he said, hitting a button and silencing his phone. âIf youâll excuse me, Miss French.â
âIâll bring your bouquet to the shop, then,â she said to his back, as Gold left the store. âYou know, when itâs ready.â
The door closed, and she watched through the window as Gold lifted the phone to his ear. He walked away, and Belle noticed it was snowing, the white flurries delicate and large as they fluttered through the air. The sidewalk already had a neat layer.
With an aggrieved sigh, she dropped her head onto her folded arms. Gold was always looking elsewhere, always interested in the thing just over her shoulder. And when he was looking at her, it was always with a bored, if polite, expression, as if she was just a placeholder until the next exciting thing caught his interest.
Belle wondered what she could do. A new dress, perhaps. Or a haircut. Or maybe, when she delivered his bouquet, she could enact her fantasy and grab the pretty bastard by his tailored suit and justâlay one on him. Kiss him until they were both out of breath and gasping.Â
It would be great up until he reported her for assault.
Belle sighed. She penciled in Goldâs account number on the order pad, wrote roses, red. She hadnât asked how many he wanted, so went with his last order: one dozen.
At least she could make his bouquet. Sheâd pick the best flowers, and tie it all up in a neat bow. And maybe, when she dropped by his shop to deliver it, sheâd be able to strike up a conversation. She had asked him about the Tiffany lamp on his counter once. It had been a nice surprise when heâd had a lot to say.
If the day was slow, she could have the roses ready in the afternoon. Seeing him twice in a dayâshe was going to be spoiled.
OO
Gold did very well in not slamming the door behind him as he entered the back room of his shop. As aggressive as he was in pulling off his overcoat, it was with a controlled shake that rid it of the snow that clung to it. He spared a thought to the weatherman, who had been threatening a storm all week, but it had yet to materialize.
This was supposed to be the day heâd finally do it, he thought. Yeah, right. He ran a hand down his tired face. Every trip to the flower shop was predicated on This Was the Day. Every chance he had at seeing Belle French, every time she caught his eye, whether at the diner, or the pharmacy, or when sheâd peek between the slats at the bordered up libraryâhe'd feel something rise in his chest, a warmth he couldnât explain, the desire to throw himself at her feet.
âLetâs go for coffee,â he wanted to ask. âHave dinner with me,â heâd beg, if he had to. âCome to bed,â heâd let himself think, only in the dark shadow of his bedroom, behind his locked door, under his blankets.
This was the day he would have, too, would have prostrated himself there in her fatherâs shop if only Regina hadnât interrupted with her phone call.Â
âPlease give me any amount of your attention and I will be yours until the stars turn to dust,â was on the tip of his tongue, and it would have made it out of his mouth if only his damn phone had been on silent. Damn the mayor and her contracts.
The thought had no teeth, though. No real oomph behind it.
Gold could barely look at the woman without being blinded, let alone open himself up for rejection and ridicule. And if not ridicule, horror, or evenâdisgust. It would be the worst kind of shock, he knew, to realize that he, Beast of Storybrooke himself, was interested in sweet Belle French.
Gold sighed, feeling hollow, hopeless. His keys and cell phone clattered as he dropped them on his workbench.
At least he got flowers out of it.
Whether he took them home or kept them by his register, each arrangement was the perfect spot of color, eye catching and lovely. Seeing them kept Belleâs smile close, not that he needed the reminder.
He liked the idea of Belle putting together his bouquet. Of her choosing each bloom with the utmost care, each petal counted and preened especially for him. Perhaps she sealed the bow with a kiss. It was a heady thought.
Ridiculous too, of course. Pure fantasy. It was better than the truth, which was that flowers were chosen from whatever available, wrapped in tissue paper and plastic and tossed his way without another thought beyond how much should be added to his balance.
That made it sound like the Frenchâs did subpar work. Gold fiddled with the space heater knob, turning it up with a thoughtful frown. Regardless of his opinion on the patriarch, the arrangements coming out of Game of Thorns were nothing short of exceptional.Â
The true reality was each bouquet was professionally done, and handed to him with a smile from Belle herself that could never mean what he wanted it to.
Perhaps one day, if he was very brave and Belle was in a charitable mood, he could ask for more of her time and sheâd agree.Â
OO
The day passed slowly. The shop was open, but bereft of customers, which suited Gold just fine. The heater at his feet buzzed, his pen scratched across the thick paper as he looked over his accounts. A world his own, there in his backroom.
Gold had just put on the kettle for tea when the bell jingled. Not bothering to hide his annoyed frown, he swept the curtain aside, stepping into the front. It vanished instantly at the site of Belle, backlit and glowing.Â
The round of her cheeks were as red as the roses she clutched, their heads peeking out from the shiny gold plastic they were wrapped in. Her hair was a shining, glistening halo of curls that spilled down her shoulders. She was effervescent, standing at the door of his shop, unnatural in her beauty.
He blinked with the realization that the world outside his shop was white; completely blanketed in snow. It glowed in the burgeoning light of the street, a white darkness.
âMiss French,â he greeted, shaking himself. Speaking of snow, a fair amount had entered with her. What wasnât clinging to her clothes had been tracked in on her boots, which looked quite solid and nothing like her regular heels, thank goodness.
âDid you walk here?â he asked with a disapproving frown.
âSorry, sorry,â she said, stomping her feet and trying in vain to keep the mess to his welcome mat. âDad had already left with the van on a large order for the hospital, and I didnât realize how bad it had gotten. The storm picked up quick!â The red in her face, embarrassment or the cold he couldn't be sure, made her eyes shine. They were such a lovely blue.
âBut, Iâm here now,â she said quickly. âAnd look, your flowers made it.â To prove it, she marched up to his counter, laying the bundle down for him to confirm.
Said bundle was flat from being held against her chest for the single mile that separated their shops, and the wrapping was encased in snow, quickly melting. The roses themselves looked to be in good enough condition, if a little shaken.
âSo they have,â he agreed softly. He tapped the counter, a wisp of an idea forming.
Belle smiled. âI could have waited until tomorrow,â she admitted. âBut it was snow today and I thoughtâI mean slow. It was slow, probably because of the snow.â The red this time was definitely from embarrassment. âAnyway, I thought itâd be nice if you had your flowers to get you through the blizzard.â
She was adorable. Gold hoped his face wasnât too dopey.
He noticed when she pulled her coat tighter against her, and saw she wasnât wearing a scarf, didn't have a hat.Â
Gold kept the front of his shop just a tad too cool to be comfortable in winter in order to encourage the good townsfolk to state their business and get out. Coming inside was not the relief from the storm it could have been.
Ah, yes. There was his idea, turning into a plan. The universe had thrown him a bone.
âYouâre not intending to walk back?â he asked carefully. âYou barely made it as it is.â
âOh, well.â She at least had gloves on, but they didnât look thick enough for Goldâs liking. âI already closed the flower shop. I was going to walk home when I finished here.â
Gold tried to keep the eagerness from showing on his face. The house she rented with her father was twice as far as Game of Thorns, and in the opposite direction. On a nice day, the walk was pleasant. With a blizzard raging? Unthinkable.
He told her as much.Â
âI guess I could ask Dad to swing by to pick me up,â she said, digging out her phone and tapping on the screen. âYou know, whenever he finishes with his delivery.â
âGreat idea.â Gold lifted the bouquet, keeping as much as the melted snow on the wrapping as he could; he didnât want to waste anytime cleaning, not when he finally had Belle all to himself.
âI think the storm will stop soon, anyway,â she said, ever the optimist. âHow much longer can it keep up?â
Knowing Maine, easily for the next week. âCome on then.â
âSorry?â
Gold was halfway through the curtain, roses snug in his arms. Theyâd perk up when they were submerged in water, rather than swimming in it. âCome warm up. I have the space heater on.â
âIn the back?â Her eyes were wide.
Had he overstepped? He couldnât think how. âI put the kettle on to boil. Should be ready any moment now.â
She took a hesitant step forward eyeing the curtain as if it hid a trap door. âI mean, if itâs okay.â
âI insist. Come have a cup of tea.â
He held the curtain to the side, happy when she stepped ahead of him.Â
Today was the day, after all.
OO
The first thing Belle noticed was things. Shelves stuffed full of boxes and baubles, careworn tools and rolls of fabric. The worktable took up a fair amount of space as well, with an aisle just because enough for a slim man with a cane to walk through.
The second thing she noticed was a bed, no larger than a twin, tucked away in the corner. She bit her lip, filing that detail away for much later.
The sound of Gold stacking what looked like his account books caught her attention. He pulled out the chair that was closest to the heater, beckoning her to sit.
âHow do you take your tea?â he asked, opening a cupboard and taking out two cups with matching plates.
âStraight, please,â she said, stuffing her gloves in her coat pocket, before peeling it off and draping it over the back of the chair.
Belle tried to look around with her greedy little eyes, but her attention was drawn to Gold, his fluid movement as he did nothing more than carefully scoop tea into a strainer ball. Even him pouring the hot water into the teapot, an elegant porcelain piece with a long sprout and blue feathering, was captivating. The packet of chocolate chip cookies that were spread out on a plate caught her attention too, albeit for a different reason.
âAm I forgetting something?â he asked, noticing her gaze on him.
âNo, no,â Belle said, not looking away.Â
In no time at all, the tea was poured, a cookie nibbled, and Mr. Gold was sitting next to her on a stool he pulled out from under the bench.
The silence wasnât overbearing, but she still looked around a little desperately, trying to find something interesting to say.
âWhat were you reading?â Gold asked.
âReading?â
âThis morning, when I placed my order. You were holding a book.â
âI was,â she said, feeling warm. It wasnât from the tea. âIt was A Christmas Carol.â
âA classic,â he said, eyebrows raised.
From there it was easy. Talk of the book moved to talk of the movies, turned to which adaptation was the best one. As it turned out, they both agreed that the Muppets took it, hands down.
Belle rubbed the handle of her teacup, the porcelain warm. She felt lightheaded, if she were honest. The dim light of the back room, paired with the quiet burr of the heater, the quiet burr of Goldâs voice, the full force of his attention, finally, after all this timeâit was too much. He was gazing at her with a softness in his eyes sheâd never seen before, and it was all much too much. She felt she might float away.
So of course, that was when Belleâs coat chimed. She wanted to groan when Gold cleared his throat, looking away.
Pulling out her cell phone, she saw the message was from her father, asking where she was. Oh. Lovely.
âDad made it home,â she said with forced lightness.Â
Gold frowned. âHome?â
âI guess my message didnât send,â Belle said, knowing full well she hadnât actually sent one. âMust have, um, the network?â She shrugged, giving up on lying quickly. âBut it looks like Dad went straight home after his delivery.â
âI see.â
Her phone pinged with a new message, and her stomach dropped at what it told her. âHe says it's really nasty out. Couldnât get the van all the way up the street, so he legged it the last two blocks.âÂ
That wasnât the best news. It was, arguably, quite bad. She could feel her plan backfiring in real time.
âIt sounds unsafe, to ask him to come,â Gold said.
The only thing she could give him was a tight smile.
It had been a simple thought, if a little impulsive: pretend that she was stranded here at Goldâs shop, in the middle of heavy snow. When it became apparent her father wasnât coming, sheâd ask oh-so-sweetly for a ride home. Gold was a gentleman. He wouldnât refuse. That she was sitting nice and toasty in his backroom with no prompting from her proved as much.Â
Her plan wouldnât only have extended her time with Gold, but also been the perfect opening to ask him out to dinner as a thank you.
âEr,â she said, looking lost. Belle hadnât considered just how bad the storm was.
âMiss French,â he said, clearing his throat again. He had the look of someone trying to deliver bad news as delicately as they could. âIâd drive you home myself, but if your fatherâs van canât make it through this snow, my Cadillac certainly wonât, either.â
âI understand.â She had done this to herself. She accepted that.Â
âI apologize,â he said, and to his credit sounded like he meant it.
âItâs not your fault,â Belle said, rallying herself. She pushed her chair out, ready to stand up.Â
âWhere are you going?â Gold asked, alarmed.
âHome. Looks like Iâm walking after all.â Belle reached for her coat, surprised when Goldâs hand closed over hers. It was dry and warm; she felt a pleasant thrill shoot through her arm.
âAbsolutely not.â
âIâm wearing boots.âÂ
âI donât care if youâre wearing skis strapped to rockets, youâre not going out there.â
Belle blinked at him, but didnât move, not wanting to sever the contact. âWhat do you suggest then?â
âStaying here,â he said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
âFor how long?â
âHowever long it takes for the storm to clear. Mr. Tillman will be out to plow as soon as it stops. Iâll drive you home when itâs safe.â
Taking advantage of Mr. Goldâs goodwill for a cup of tea was one thing. Forcing his hand to shelter her for hours was something else entirely. But there was a part of her, quite a large part, that wanted to press her advantage. And he was offering.
âAre you sure? Iâd hate to put you out,â she hedged.
âMiss French, I insist.â He licked his lips, tugging gently on her hand. âIt might not be the most comfortable option, but itâs better than getting lost in a blizzard.â
âI guess youâre right,â Belle said, sitting back down.
âYes. I am,â he sniffed. âGlad we agree.â From the look on his face Gold hadnât expected such quick acquiescence, but wasnât going to complain.
âFor the record,â she said, smiling. âIâm quite comfortable.â
Surprised pleasure bloomed across his face. âIâm happy you think so."
âI do. Thank you, Mr. Gold, for letting me stay.â
âThink nothing of it,â he said quickly. âYou donât want to be out there.âÂ
âReally,â Belle agreed. âI mean, how much longer can this last, right?â
It wasnât the first time either of them alluded to such a thing that night, but it must have been one time too many.
The lights above them flickered for a breath of a moment, then cut out.
Because of course they did.
âAh,â Belle said into the sudden darkness. She wondered if Gold heard her over his cursing.
âNo, donât move, please, just. Stay there,â Gold said, his chair scraping against the hardwood.
âWait,â she said, scrambling to turn on the flashlight app on her phone. âHere, so you donât trip on something.â
In the light, she could see one corner of his mouth lift. âI know my way around the shop, my dear, but thank you.â
He turned, illuminated as he brushed the curtain aside. She heard the tap of his cane as he walked to the front. There was a clock, somewhere to her left, that ticked down the seconds he was gone.
The curtain signaled his return. âThe whole of main street is out. Probably most of the town, too.â
Belle made a noise to show she was listening.
âI, um. I think we might be here much longer than a few hours,â he said. Belle hadnât realized how many whirring, buzzing things there had been in the pawnshop; between the generator, the lights, the space heater, even the mini fridge that Gold had kept the milk. When it all cut out, they werenât just left in darkness, but complete silence. There was nothing but the sound of their breathing, and the clock.
âYes,â she said into the stillness. âI think youâre right.â
OO
âPlease, just take the cot.â Gold said for the hundredth time.
âYouâre being ridiculous,â Belle said for the hundred and first. âWhat will people say when they find out you froze to death in your own shop?âÂ
âI have my coat. Itâs not that cold.â
âI can hear your teeth chattering.â
She could do no such thing. Gold sighed, feeling weary. Theyâd been arguing for the last twenty minutes at least.
It hadnât taken long for the cold to creep in after the power went out. Bundled up in their coats, theyâd used the rest of the hot water for a last bit of tea, and neither one complained about their dinner being the rest of the biscuits.Â
When the question of sleeping arrangements arose, Gold thought it was obvious: Belle could take the bed and the nice blankets, and he would watch over her, stalwart and uncomplaining.Â
The stubborn woman was hearing none of it.
âI can survive a night in the chair as long as I know youâre taken care of.â
âThatâs sweet,â she said with a glare, âbut not very practical.â
Practicality had nothing to do with it. The candles flickered on the table. He kept a handful in his cupboards for this very situation, and it helped Belle to save her cell phone battery if they should need it when the service came back on.
He stared at the flames. âI donât want to make you uncomfortable.â
âIâd be much more comfortable if I were warmer,â she shot back. She had at least made it as far as sitting on the cot, boots kicked off and feet tucked underneath her. âWeâre small people. We can both fit.âÂ
They couldnât, not unless she were wrapped around him like a scarf. It sounded like a dream to Gold, but he wouldnât fool himself into thinking it was what she actually wanted.
âYouâll sleep easier if it's just you on it.â
âIf you refuse to share with me, then Iâll stay at the table with you.â She patted the quilt underneath her. âWe can share the blankets. Wear them like cloaks.â
âNo.â
âReally, Mr. Gold.â A pout had begun to pull at her lips. It was cute enough to kiss away, which was exactly why heâd stay where he was, thank you. âThink of my toes.â
âYour. . . toes.â
âYes. Theyâre so cold right now, I think they might actually fall off. And youâre sitting there, miles away, doing nothing about it, when you could get on the bed with me, and keep me and my toes warm.â
âIt might help if you got under the blankets, first.â
âAnd if they fall off,â she said, ignoring him, âI will sue you for damages.â
That shocked a laugh out of him. âSue me?â
âWhat would the town say then, hm? Mr. Gold being taken to court because Belle French canât wear heels anymore.â
That would be a tragedy all on itâs own. âYou seem under the impression I give a damn what the town thinks of me.â
âWhat about what I think? Iâd be very upset with you.â
âUnthinkable,â he murmured. The pout was back, her lip protruding. Goldâs resolve was slipping. It was bloody cold in the shop. His hands felt like ice, he couldnât feel his feet at all. It would be warmer on the bed with two, he knew that much.
âPlease share the bed with me?â Belle asked, going in for the kill. Her eyes shone in the candlelight. âI know Iâm asking for a lot, but thereâs no sense in either of us being cold tonight.â
Endless moments passed. How did she get her eyes to shine so brightly?
âAlright,â Gold said.
If he thought she was shining before, it paled in comparison to the smile that lit up her face.
She stood when he did, pulling back the blankets. She shimmied out of her coat, too, laying it over.
âWeâll be warmer if we use the coats as extra blankets,â she said innocently, reaching up to help him out of his. âKeeping them on will suck away body heat, not hold it in.âÂ
While she spread his coat over hers, he removed his suit jacket, laying it over the back of the chair. If they needed it, it was within reach. His belt and shoes soon followed.
When he looked at the cot next, he was greeted with Belle, tucked in and holding one corner of the coverings up, ready for him to slip in next to her.
He could deny her nothing.
After blowing out the candles, he settled in.Â
The weight of the blankets was pleasant, especially with the added coats. It couldnât compare to the weight of Belle, solid and warm.
Gold shifted to his back, Belle happily curling around him, her head pillowed on his shoulder. His arm came around to rest in the hollow of her back.
âIs this okay?â she asked, rubbing her face against him.
Tentatively, Gold ran his hands up her spine. She sighed, snuggled closer.
âItâs perfect,â he decided. Gold didnât know why he had resisted for so long.
Belle sighed again, deeper, sinking further into his arms. Her leg hooked around his, twining together, her thigh brushing his groin.
Ah, right. That was why.
Maybe he could convince her to go back-to-back. Or he could turn to his side, let her be the big spoon. Now that was an excellent idea.
Her hand, delicate and soft, touched lightly on his shoulder. âIs this still okay?â she asked.
It was agonizing torture. âYes.â
A pause. âItâs just, youâve gone rigid.â
He huffed, willing his body to relax.Â
âItâs fine,â he said.Â
They lay together in the dark, simply breathing each other in. The clock on his workbench dutifully whirred on, and the soft but distinct tickticktick pulled him into a sort of trance.
Belle began to rub circles into the fabric of his shirt and he felt himself sink further. He could smell her floral shampoo. He nuzzled her, gently, hoping she wouldnât mind.
âGold?â Belle asked, breath blooming against his neck.
âHm?â he hummed. His eyes were closed. He didnât remember doing that.
âWhat would you say if I told you that skin-to-skin contact is much more efficient to staying warm?â
Her limbs tightened around him as if she was sure heâd leap from the bed and away from her. He didnât want to do that, though, even as what she was asking sunk in.
Gold swallowed, afraid of being too honest in the dark. âI suppose I would accuse you of trying to seduce me.â
He felt her relieved sigh. âWould it work?â
âYouâre doing a great job of it as it is.âÂ
Her breath staggered. Her hands played with the buttons on his shirt, but didnât slip them through their eye holes.
âAnd do you want to be seduced?â Her nose mapped a trail from behind his ear along his jaw, and he was about to combust.Â
His answer was to grasp her hair at the base of her neck and pull her towards him. He overshot, his aim terrible in the dark. Her lips landed on the edge of his top lip, brushing the curse of his nose.
Still holding her close, he flipped them, so he was above her. He cradled her head, his hands combing through her lush hair. Oh, yes, much easier to kiss her like this. Belle agreed if her happy moan was anything to go by; that and the way her legs parted, allowing him to rest against her fully.
âIâll keep you warm,â he whispered into her ear, reveling in her shiver.Â
âI want you, Gold.â The words had barely left her mouth before he was kissing her again.Â
âSilas,â he said. âMy name is Silas.â Belle ran her hands up his arms, her fingers sinking into his hair.
âSilas,â she breathed. âI want you so much.â
He kissed her, hard, tongue demanding entrance that Belle happily granted.Â
If the night was spent only kissing and maybe heavy petting, it would have exceeded Goldâs expectations by a considerable degree. Belle clearly had other plans, though, as he found out when her hands touched his bare chest.
He jolted, her cool hands searing as they touched him. The minx was adept at unbuttoning a shirt, heâd give her that. She was also proving quite skilled at undoing his trousers; they pushed them down his thighs together, Gold leaning a little to the side so he could get the leverage to kick them to the end of the cot.
Now that he was bare, it seemed only fair that Belle be next. Gold grasped the end of her sweater, pushing it up, up, up. When he threw it down to the floor, she hissed at the cold air as it made its way into their cocoon. It was worth it for the wide expanse of warm skin he now had to discover. Fuck, she was soft.
Goldâs hands clutched at her sides as he mouthed her breasts, the nipples already tight buds.
âSilas,â she moaned, thrusting her chest up. While his mouth was occupied, he peeled her leggings down as far as he could reach without outright sitting up. She took the hint, kicking them to the end of the bed to join his trousers.
Gold adjusted the blankets, making sure they were covered, and that Belle was warm underneath him. She panted, breath heavy as he kissed across her collar bone. He trailed down to the top of her chest, mouthing at the hollow at the swell of her breasts while his hand trailed to her cunt.
Her core was molten.
âFuck,â Gold hissed, feeling the wet heat of her.
âPlease, Silasâ Belle said, bucking her hips into his hand. âFuck me.â
Cock in hand, he guided himself into her. If he thought she was hot on his fingers, it didnât come close to her wrapped around his prick
âOh, Belle,â he moaned, lost.
They set a slow hard rhythm; not wanting to displace the blankets, Belle angled her hips up, cradling Gold while he rocked in and out.
Pulse by pulse, breath by breath, he had never felt so good. Belle raised her knees higher, allowing more of him to sink inside her. Her breath hitched when he hit a good spot. He hit it again, harder.
Silas kissed her along her neck, wet sucking kisses that landed in time with his hips. He wished he could see her, wanted to memorize the look on her face and he gave this to her. The dark brought into focus the sure touch of their wandering hands, the vice of her cunt as she took him.Â
âAre you close, love?â he asked, gaining speed, his thrusts becoming shallow. His hand sunk down to just above where they joined, rubbing her clit as she moaned in his ear.
âYes, yes, yes,â she said, words breathy. She kissed his jaw, hands weaving into his hair, pulling as she clenchedâas she cameâas her legs wrapped around him beseeching him to follow her.
He could deny her nothing.
OO
She woke in the night, the room dark and cold. Silas was a furnace next to her, his arm stretched across her ribcage keeping her anchored. She smiled, wiggling against him, relishing being so close to him.
Silasâ heart was steady and strong beneath her ear. Sweet music. Belle turned her head to kiss him there, over his heart. She trailed her nose down, to the side, finding his nipple. She kissed that, too. Then closed her mouth over it, sucking.
Silas grunted, but didnât wake. A final lick, and Belle moved downwards, further into their nest.
Boney and warm; his hip, she thought. Belle kissed it, regardless.
Silas hummed, shifting slightly. Belle kissed him again, moving further down, and a little to the side, until her lips met with a wiry patch of hair.Â
âBelle?â he asked, voice muffled and heavy with sleep.
In answer she licked him, just over his pubris. The muscles jumped, and she felt his shudder.
âBelle,â he moaned. The sound pulled at something deep in her belly. âPlease.â
âHm?â she asked, kissing back the way she came, away from his curls.
His moan this time was agonized. âYour mouth, sweetheart. Please.â
âMy mouth?â she asked, innocently, nibbling on the spot just below his tummy, sucking the skin into her mouth.
âFuck,â he said, hips jutting.
Belle licked him. Another kiss, another suck. She breathed him deep, the whole of him. That she could make out her own scent dried on his skin had heat pooling low in her belly. They tasted so good together.
âBelle, please,â Gold tried again. âPut your mouth on my cock.â
She hadnât expected him to ask. In reward, she stopped her teasing, using her hand to grasp and position him before taking him past her lips.Â
Their moans mixed together; his from the sweet heat, hers from the perfect way he filled her. What a discovery, that they fit together perfectly no matter the circumstance.
OO
Next when she woke, the lights were still off, the cold no less harsh as it nipped at her nose. She could see the morning sun peak through the single window signaling a new day and a break in the storm.
Belle tried not to grumble as she rolled over, burrowing under the blankets and pressing her cold nose into Silasâ chest.
He shook with a silent laugh, and she wondered how long he had been awake.
âGood morning,â he said, pressing a kiss to her crown. His voice was scratchy in that unused-sleepy way, and it made Belleâs toes curl.
She could get used to waking up to this. She wanted to get used to it very much.
A buzzing from the table made her pause. She turned her head, sure she knew the source.
âYour cell phone,â Silas confirmed. âIt keeps going off.âÂ
She kissed his chest, right above his heart. âYou didnât wake me.â
âYouâd have answered it if I had.â
Belle made a noise of agreement, even as she made no move to leave the cot. Or more accurately, leave the circle of Silasâ arms, which were wrapped around her snugly, one hand rubbing patterns into her lower back.Â
âSomeone will be by to dig us out, now that itâs morning,â he said.
He sounded less than pleased, which pulled a smile from her. She kissed his cheek. âThanks for letting me stay.â
His response was immediate. âOf course.â He wet his lips. âPerhaps, ah.â His hair was tangled on the pillow, and there was a nice hickey forming on the curve of his neck, another one just under his collarbone.
He looked ravaged, ruined; very thoroughly and happily debauched.
âPerhaps?â Belle hooked her leg around his thigh, her heel touching the back of his knee. She felt his cock stir in interest.
âPerhaps, I mean, if you wanted toâŠâ
Belle bit her lip. They were naked, still wrapped around each other after a night of the best sex she had ever had, and he was too shy to ask her out on a date.
It really put her stargazing into perspective. Theyâd work on it, she decided. They had the time.
âIâd like to do this again,â she told him, catching his eye. âIn less pressing circumstances."Â
He rubbed the tip of his nose against hers, voice sweet and hopeful. âLet me make you dinner.â
Belle had only just pressed her lips to his when her phone gave a particularly judgmental vibration. She left the blankets long enough to snatch it from the table, before she tucked herself back next to Silas, who welcomed her back happily.Â
She awakened the screen to see she had 7% battery left. Just enough to tell her father she was safe and warm, and that sheâd be home in the afternoon after plenty of time for the snow to settle and Tillman to plow.Â
And a few other things she chose not to mention.
