SUMMARY:

The Likeness of Mirrored Souls is an AU that follows a retelling of the TMNT 2012 series with the addition of Hamato Giovanni and Rose Jones (and is also referred to as the TMNT 2012 Twins AU)

TLOMS is a growing multiverse that includes a human au, pirate au, several bad ending / evil aus and more, which will be featured on this blog!

Giovanni (aka Van / Vanni) is Leonardo's identical twin, after Splinter accidentally bought 5 turtles instead of 4 that fateful day. Green masked and user of the shuang gou (Chinese Hook Swords), he's the team medic, [shared] eldest of five brothers and uses any pronouns!

Roselyn (aka Rose / Ro) is Casey's fraternal (and depending on the au, adopted) twin, who may be a Faerie with magic she struggles to understand, or a merfolk, or a human, but in all verses is raised as a Jones through and through! Predominantly pink and never seen without either a baseball bat or boxing gloves close by, pink is here to kick ass and take names, one of three, and uses she/he/pink pronouns!

[She smiles, holding out the little plushies.] "If you know who he is, then we have something to bond over. If not, then we still have something to bond over, because now we can watch the movie together. I hope the texture of the fabric's okay."

The small turtle child looks up at the human before running off with the plush in claw. He’s gone a few moments before the slap clatter of his clawed little feet signals his rapid return.

Chirp chirrup chirrr!

Little Orange stumbles to a stop in front of the human.

He smiles wide and thrusts a few small, smooth rocks into Rose’s hands.

Orange chirps happily and runs off again to go play with his new treasure.

Thank you for the gift. Orange will be quite happy with it for a good while.

Oroku Saki and Hamato Yoshi are half brothers, they were good friends but Saki's mother hated Yoshi's mother and Yoshi by extension.

Saki and Yoshi have a Yakuza father, he wasn't doting but he also wasn't emotionally available. He actually loved Yoshi's mother but was in an arranged marriage to Saki's mother.

He treats the kids the same (he loves them but he's emotionally constipated), he's cold towards Saki's mother. (She's a bitch)

Yakupops gives the title of boss to Saki because he showed interest in it and Yoshi has taken up acting.

The two fall in love with two different women, Tang Shen for Saki and Gumo.

Saki's mother sold Yoshi to Gumo, who had been dating him and fell in love, but she has to go by the rules of summoning. She has to make him suffer.

You guessed it she's Big Mama!

She tearfully tells Yoshi what happened and reveals that she couldn't tell Saki.

Saki's mother had killed Yoshi's mother and their father, then she was caught and executed.

Years down the line Tang Shen died during child birth and Saki swore to find his brother at all costs.

He began to grow an empire.

Police, Politics, Schools, Gangs, you name it, he's delved in it. Soon mystics came up, and he met and recognized Gumo.

He did research on deals before hand, warned by many yokai, and didn't blame her for Yoshi.

During the time prior mentioned, Yoshi fought and honed his skills. Never hating his brother but missed his family. He didn't even hate Gumo.

Soon fighting became to much and he stopped, he was kidnapped by Baron Draxum.

You know, mutegan was made with his blood and experimented on turtles with a year or two of each other.

The first was a Florida Softshell Yoshi named Donatello, Second was a Pond Slider he named Leonardo, the two being months apart and already two years old by human standards. A year passes when they joined by a Spotted Box Turtle that was named Michaelangelo and another two years when surprisingly and egg showed up. It was apparently a map turtle.

Draxum decided to take the other three for training, already mutated the egg and going for the five and four year olds.

Soon Yoshi gained the will to fight then.

He escaped and for their protection locked the babies in a cage with the egg and told the oldest two to protect them.

He managed to defeat Draxum and destroy his work before taking the cage and running to topside.

He couldn't return home, because during the fight he touched the ooze and was scratched by an escaped rat. Thankfully since the oozed was made of his DNA, he was partially mutated.

Gumo had already been in contact with Saki and found out what happened to Yoshi and about Draxum.

Later the egg hatches and he names his new daughter Rachel, though his boys jokingly call her Raphael.

Though Leo decided her name should be Rose and Yoshi agreed.

The duo assumes he died.

At this, Saki began looking into dark means of getting his family back and his daughter was being co raised by Gumo.

Saki slowly became corrupted by dark mystics and trapped within his own mind. Years later he became Shredder.

He soon learned of a mystic armor that Yoshi's mother protected and decided this was a step to bring back his family.

hello, you like superheroes and I have a superhero-related question so I was hoping you might be able to help. though it is not specifically about your specific favorite heroes.

I'm trying to design a supersuit, and I'd like for the mask to like. go all the way around the back of the head instead of just being in front. partly because more realistic staying in place, partly for other reasons.

but I'm having trouble thinking of supers with that kinda shape to look at for inspiration to not have it look the wrong kind of goofy (supersuits are always gonna look a bit silly. but there's still some kind of balance possible)

I know the flash and the batman have cowls, and I think their main goofiness counter might be the shapes?? flash has his lil lightning bolt antennae, and batman has pointy ears. whereas I try to picture just a smooth topped mask and my brain goes haha that's silly

and I cannot think of any supers at all right now who have a mask which covers the top of their head but isn't attached to the shirt part of their supersuits

except maybe Jay Flash, though his might just be a helmet?? I don’t remember. It definitely needs to cover most (but not all!) of the face as well.

Anyway. so the question is. Do you have any thoughts on supers to look up as idea references?

Jay Garrick just has a helmet iirc, yeah. There are actually some pretty cool alternate mask designs out there I know of that don't require spirit gum, though, so off the top of my head:

the Netflix version of Daredevil started out with an opaque over-the-eyes/over-the-hair cloth mask that tied behind his head

I usually see Connor Hawke's version of Green Arrow done with a TMNT-style eye mask tied around the back of his head and an accompanying hood to go with it

Arrowette/Cissie King-Jones' design from Young Justice 98 had a ridged mask that went over the upper half of her face and the top of her head, leaving her hair loose behind/underneath, including a variant with a hood

Empress/Anita Fite wore a full face mask with some cool shapes in it and a big curly ponytail out the back

Wonder Girl/Cassie Sandsmark originally wore goggles

Spoiler/Stephanie Brown originally wore a full-cover stocking mask with very large lenses and a hood over it and I believe currently wears a mask over her mouth and a hood

Speedy/Mia Dearden has worn a mask that ties around the back of the head with a hood

Batgirl/Cassandra Cain originally wore a full face mask that covered her whole face and all her hair

I frequently see Ravager/Rose Wilson wearing an eye mask that covers the top of her head and ties in the back

at least one of Barbara Gordon's more recent Batgirl designs has a combination eye mask/helmet, or at least something akin to one

Red Hood/Jason Todd has worn both a full helmet and a muzzle with an eye mask and a hood, though I thiiiiink the eye mask was a domino

Star-Lord/Peter Quill wears a helmet that wraps around the back of his head

Chamber/Jono Starsmore wears a mask made of leather straps wrapped and layered around the bottom half of his "face"

Jubilee/Jubilation Lee wears an opaque visor

Cyclops/Scott Summers wears an opaque visor

the Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes wears a strapped-on muzzle and also grease paint around his eyes in at least one movie

Annnnnd I'mma stop there before I take over anyone's dash, haha. Some of these are older designs, but hopefully a helpful starting point or two is somewhere in there!

You sighed, watching Casey Jones re-tape his hockey stick. “Did you get distracted again?” You asked, leaning against the entryway.

“Huh?” He asked, looking up with his tape roll in his mouth. He absolutely got distracted again. It didn’t help that you could hear the hockey game playing on the TV. “Oh, my bad, Doll.” He gave a slight sheepish smile, it wasn’t like he had forgotten. He just gets distracted sometimes.

“Should I ca-” he stood, giving you a look that said not to even suggest calling Donnie. “Fine, please, get it done.” You asked, again. After a nod, you walked off, naively believing he would not forget to do his chores again.

It was a couple of hours before you noticed that Casey wasn’t getting his work done. When you checked on him, he was tinkering with something that wasn’t the million other things he was supposed to do. “Arnold Casey Junior,” you let out, making the long haired vigilante sit straight up. At this point you wondered if his ADHD was just making him do the complete opposite because you asked him so many times.

Casey turned to you, his shoulders stiff. No one wanted to scold their partner and no one wanted to be scolded by their partner, let alone using his full government name. You hadn’t meant to do that, you were just getting pissed. If his Negative Opposition wasn’t in full swing before, it certainly was about to be. You felt panicked for a moment, a brief ‘did that just happen’ look shared between the both of you.

Fuck.

Shit.

You did the only thing you could think of, pulling your shirt up between your teeth and pulling your jeans down slightly to show off the natural v cut. You watched as Casey blinked for a moment before his eyes went wide, it was as if you gave him a Christmas present.

You watched Casey drop to his knees in front of you as you put your clothes back in its place. You couldn’t hide the slight smirk that passed your lips as his jaw hung open slightly. “Why did you do that,” he whined. You lifted your hand and cupped his cheek.

“You want to see more?” A nod. A second nod. You rose your brow, the smirk on full display now. “Only good boys get their treats, are you going to be good for me?” You ran your index finger along his chin. He nodded again. “Good,” you bent down to his face, “then finish your chores.”
