SUMMARY:

The Likeness of Mirrored Souls is an AU that follows a retelling of the TMNT 2012 series with the addition of Hamato Giovanni and Rose Jones (and is also referred to as the TMNT 2012 Twins AU)

TLOMS is a growing multiverse that includes a human au, pirate au, several bad ending / evil aus and more, which will be featured on this blog!

Giovanni (aka Van / Vanni) is Leonardo's identical twin, after Splinter accidentally bought 5 turtles instead of 4 that fateful day. Green masked and user of the shuang gou (Chinese Hook Swords), he's the team medic, [shared] eldest of five brothers and uses any pronouns!

Roselyn (aka Rose / Ro) is Casey's fraternal (and depending on the au, adopted) twin, who may be a Faerie with magic she struggles to understand, or a merfolk, or a human, but in all verses is raised as a Jones through and through! Predominantly pink and never seen without either a baseball bat or boxing gloves close by, pink is here to kick ass and take names, one of three, and uses she/he/pink pronouns!

I haven't gotten to know you well enough to make, like, a personalized gift, as like a well-meaning token of luck kinda thing for the @goobersforlife comp. So for now, I made everybody a Calcifer." [She smiles, holding out the little plushies.] "If you know who he is, then we have something to bond over. If not, then we still have something to bond over, because now we can watch the movie together. I hope the texture of the fabric's okay."

Orange takes the plush. He turns it over in his hands quizzically.

Chirp?

The small turtle child looks up at the human before running off with the plush in claw. He’s gone a few moments before the slap clatter of his clawed little feet signals his rapid return.

Chirp chirrup chirrr!

Little Orange stumbles to a stop in front of the human.

He smiles wide and thrusts a few small, smooth rocks into Rose’s hands.

Orange chirps happily and runs off again to go play with his new treasure.

Thank you for the gift. Orange will be quite happy with it for a good while.

Oroku Saki and Hamato Yoshi are half brothers, they were good friends but Saki's mother hated Yoshi's mother and Yoshi by extension.

Saki and Yoshi have a Yakuza father, he wasn't doting but he also wasn't emotionally available. He actually loved Yoshi's mother but was in an arranged marriage to Saki's mother.

He treats the kids the same (he loves them but he's emotionally constipated), he's cold towards Saki's mother. (She's a bitch)

Yakupops gives the title of boss to Saki because he showed interest in it and Yoshi has taken up acting.

The two fall in love with two different women, Tang Shen for Saki and Gumo.

Saki's mother sold Yoshi to Gumo, who had been dating him and fell in love, but she has to go by the rules of summoning. She has to make him suffer.

You guessed it she's Big Mama!

She tearfully tells Yoshi what happened and reveals that she couldn't tell Saki.

Saki's mother had killed Yoshi's mother and their father, then she was caught and executed.

Years down the line Tang Shen died during child birth and Saki swore to find his brother at all costs.

He began to grow an empire.

Police, Politics, Schools, Gangs, you name it, he's delved in it. Soon mystics came up, and he met and recognized Gumo.

He did research on deals before hand, warned by many yokai, and didn't blame her for Yoshi.

During the time prior mentioned, Yoshi fought and honed his skills. Never hating his brother but missed his family. He didn't even hate Gumo.

Soon fighting became to much and he stopped, he was kidnapped by Baron Draxum.

You know, mutegan was made with his blood and experimented on turtles with a year or two of each other.

The first was a Florida Softshell Yoshi named Donatello, Second was a Pond Slider he named Leonardo, the two being months apart and already two years old by human standards. A year passes when they joined by a Spotted Box Turtle that was named Michaelangelo and another two years when surprisingly and egg showed up. It was apparently a map turtle.

Draxum decided to take the other three for training, already mutated the egg and going for the five and four year olds.

Soon Yoshi gained the will to fight then.

He escaped and for their protection locked the babies in a cage with the egg and told the oldest two to protect them.

He managed to defeat Draxum and destroy his work before taking the cage and running to topside.

He couldn't return home, because during the fight he touched the ooze and was scratched by an escaped rat. Thankfully since the oozed was made of his DNA, he was partially mutated.

Gumo had already been in contact with Saki and found out what happened to Yoshi and about Draxum.

Later the egg hatches and he names his new daughter Rachel, though his boys jokingly call her Raphael.

Though Leo decided her name should be Rose and Yoshi agreed.

The duo assumes he died.

At this, Saki began looking into dark means of getting his family back and his daughter was being co raised by Gumo.

Saki slowly became corrupted by dark mystics and trapped within his own mind. Years later he became Shredder.

He soon learned of a mystic armor that Yoshi's mother protected and decided this was a step to bring back his family.

Going Out

Going Out

April sighed as she heard something crash as Casey looked for a flashlight. It shouldn’t have been hard to find one, she told him right where it was, but she also knew she should have expected this. Casey Jones could be a gentle man, but he also could be like a bull in a china shop at times—something she knew from experience.

April looked down at the sick and hurting turtle that was on her couch. Don really wasn’t doing well, and she didn’t want to leave him. But without light, she wasn’t going to get very far in helping him.

“Hang tight, Don. I’ll be right back.”

She gave him a little pat before she rose to go help Casey, her leather jacket creaking a bit as she moved. She really should change. She’d put so much work into this look, but there was no reason to keep it on. Maybe after they got Don settled, she’d change clothes.

After all, with a sick mutant turtle and a miscommunication it looked like the only thing going out tonight, was the power. Might as well settle down for a quiet night in.

TWINS AU HUMAN VERSE FUN FACTS:

once again, this au is ofc collabed and shared w @omgselinabeckendorf the beloved, with her amazing oc Rose Jones 🫶🏼

There is no Kraang or Shredder or Clan wars or mutant stuff. Just a normal high school human verse with weirdo kids <3

Saki isn't a creep or a bad guy in this verse, he's just that odd uncle that lives in Japan that comes home for the holidays

Shen doesn't die and Miwa and her brothers get to be raised by two parents! Except Miwa isn't called Miwa and is instead Karai, as it is in og canon

Karai and her brothers are all the bio kids of Shen and Yoshi

The Hamatos immigrated to Japan when Karai was 4 and the boys were 3, and befriended the O'Neils, consisting of only Kirby and April (they're neighbours)

April learns Japanese bcs she was so exposed to the language and culture at such a young age, her Dad still struggles a bit though

The Hamatos & April attend the same school from kindergarten to high school, and aren't known to socialise outside of their family / friend circle

Their group expands when Rose and Casey are introduced via April

Rose and Van are ofc besties 4 life in this verse

The Hamatos & April are still martial artists and practice several types weekly, including ninjutsu (they use their skills to sneak around though, as opposed to combat, they dont need to fight much anyway, it's just good to have these skills)

The Hamato O'Neil Jones family frequently go on holidays together

They also head to the O'Neil farmhouse every summer

Raph and Mikey get bad dye jobs bcs they wanted to look like Karai with her blond undercut and severely misjudged how difficult it'd be

Donnie's teased for looking like a vampire

Van likes to eat instant noodles in his least favourite classes - Leo used to scold him but now he forces him to share bcs high school's too sucky to care abt rules

Van and Leo switch places all the time to take each other's tests, and attend classes and / or detention for one another

Raph's on the wrestling team, Casey does hockey and Rose does boxing

Shen teaches Van first aid and she's everyone's first contact before a doctor or nurse

The Hamatos often refer to Kirby as "Dad" bcs that was who he was to them growing up
