Main TMNT Iteration for my blog
Read tags for more info
Oroku Saki and Hamato Yoshi are half brothers, they were good friends but Saki's mother hated Yoshi's mother and Yoshi by extension.
Saki and Yoshi have a Yakuza father, he wasn't doting but he also wasn't emotionally available. He actually loved Yoshi's mother but was in an arranged marriage to Saki's mother.
He treats the kids the same (he loves them but he's emotionally constipated), he's cold towards Saki's mother. (She's a bitch)
Yakupops gives the title of boss to Saki because he showed interest in it and Yoshi has taken up acting.
The two fall in love with two different women, Tang Shen for Saki and Gumo.
Saki's mother sold Yoshi to Gumo, who had been dating him and fell in love, but she has to go by the rules of summoning. She has to make him suffer.
You guessed it she's Big Mama!
She tearfully tells Yoshi what happened and reveals that she couldn't tell Saki.
Saki's mother had killed Yoshi's mother and their father, then she was caught and executed.
Years down the line Tang Shen died during child birth and Saki swore to find his brother at all costs.
He began to grow an empire.
Police, Politics, Schools, Gangs, you name it, he's delved in it. Soon mystics came up, and he met and recognized Gumo.
He did research on deals before hand, warned by many yokai, and didn't blame her for Yoshi.
During the time prior mentioned, Yoshi fought and honed his skills. Never hating his brother but missed his family. He didn't even hate Gumo.
Soon fighting became to much and he stopped, he was kidnapped by Baron Draxum.
You know, mutegan was made with his blood and experimented on turtles with a year or two of each other.
The first was a Florida Softshell Yoshi named Donatello, Second was a Pond Slider he named Leonardo, the two being months apart and already two years old by human standards. A year passes when they joined by a Spotted Box Turtle that was named Michaelangelo and another two years when surprisingly and egg showed up. It was apparently a map turtle.
Draxum decided to take the other three for training, already mutated the egg and going for the five and four year olds.
Soon Yoshi gained the will to fight then.
He escaped and for their protection locked the babies in a cage with the egg and told the oldest two to protect them.
He managed to defeat Draxum and destroy his work before taking the cage and running to topside.
He couldn't return home, because during the fight he touched the ooze and was scratched by an escaped rat. Thankfully since the oozed was made of his DNA, he was partially mutated.
Gumo had already been in contact with Saki and found out what happened to Yoshi and about Draxum.
Later the egg hatches and he names his new daughter Rachel, though his boys jokingly call her Raphael.
Though Leo decided her name should be Rose and Yoshi agreed.
The duo assumes he died.
At this, Saki began looking into dark means of getting his family back and his daughter was being co raised by Gumo.
Saki slowly became corrupted by dark mystics and trapped within his own mind. Years later he became Shredder.
He soon learned of a mystic armor that Yoshi's mother protected and decided this was a step to bring back his family.

Yooo! About the rise toddler au.. Do they age eventually? And I'm curious if their personalities would be slightly different bc they're much more younger :o
Haiii!!! Tysm for the ask!!!
Yea they’d age about the same they do in the show, like two years between ep 1 and the movie. So post movie Mikey’s 5, Donnie and Leo are 6, raphs 7, and April and Casey are 8 (and cj jr is like 13-14 xd)
And also yea I think they’d be a bit more immature. Like playing pranks more often and getting into more silly hijinks lol
In battle Mikey and Leo pull crazier stunts and Raph is somehow even more reckless n stuff like that

(You didn’t ask about this but I wanna yap!!!) Donnie doesn’t really have a battle shell prior to the final fight w shredder. There would be references to it being in beta (like the drill) tho. It’s less high-tech than Donnie’s is in the show, but it still has some features, like a flashlight, probably a flamethrower, other weapons like that, and ofc shelldon ^~^
And just some extra stuff post-post movie I think Raph goes through a MASSIVE growth spurt at like 12-13, like one night he’s like the height of a normal 12-13 yr old and then the next morning he’s like 6 feet tall lolll. And Donnie probably gets contacts when he’s like 12 or something
(Also it’s really funny krang one has beef with a 6yr old xddd like dude he’s 6 why are you trying to kill him!!! This could be said about the other villains tho, but to me, besides shredder/the foot and mayyybe s1 draxum, the other villains aren’t trying to kill them, just like get them out of the way)
I hope I answered your questions!!!

Various pieces of information from the Rise Q&A back in February
It was revealed that there are other Hidden Cities other than the one seen in Rise & there had been plans for the Turtles to visit the Hidden City beneath Tokyo.
2. Splinter was able to use Leo's mystic odachi so easily due to the fact that Splinter had spent a lot of time in the Hidden City & because of this Splinter has a great deal of mystic knowledge, with Splinter also having developed his mystic abilities but he has stopped using those abilities until the events of the series.

3. More information was given about the missing Turtle Siblings & it was stated the Frida, Big Mama's Assistant would have most likely joined her brothers during the future timeline, it was also stated that the other missing Turtle Sibling would have possibly been named Camille after Camille Claudel.

4. When asked on how a Dungeons & Dragons episode would go it was stated that April would be the DM, Raph would be a fighter class, Mikey would be an illusionist, Leo would be an assassin or thief & Donnie would insist on being a scientist since he's sure that there was 'at least one sensible person back then'.
5. The Rise version of Renet could have possibly been used to explore different timelines that might have happened if certain events in the movie had happened differently.

6. After the events of the movie Casey is traveling around the world fighting remnants of the Krang & the Foot Clan.

7. When asked about the Turtle's relationship with Draxum it was stated that in contrast to Mikey who accepted Draxum the most easily, Leo is the most skeptical however it was also stated that Leo would have eventually 'gotten over' his grudge towards Draxum as there were multiple scrapped episodes planned where Leo & Draxum would have been forced to work together.

8. There were plans for the Turtles to eventually go to the Krang's original dimension meaning that it would have been likely for the Turtles to encounter the traditional dimension X/Z stuff such as the Neutrinos.

9. When asked about Casey Junior's relationship with the past/ present version of Leo it was stated that despite it being slightly different due to them being around the same age now Casey Junior can't help but still view Leo as a father figure.

10. It was stated that Splinter has never celebrated the Turtle's Birthdays in the past due to it being to closely related to his negative feelings towards his own mutation however it was also stated that after Splinter's development in the series he would start celebrating the Turtle's Birthday with them.
11. The reason that the Future Version of Leonardo was the one who raised Casey Junior was stated that it was due to the fact that the Future Version of Leonardo had a special affinity for Casey Junior & also felt particularly responsible for Casey Junior after his mother was gone.

12. When asked what the Rise version of Miyamoto Usagi would have been like it was revealed that a possible plan for Usagi was that his home dimension would have been overrun by the Krang causing Usagi to travel to the Turtles dimension for help due to them being the only ones who have ever defeated the Krang.

13. When discussing crossovers between TMNT iterations it was stated that a crossover between Rise & the 1987 cartoon or the 2003 cartoon would have been a possibility due to them also being 2D animated series.

14. April & Sunita were planned to have more 'girls night' episodes together.

It was also stated that Casey would have possibly have developed a dynamic with both April & Sunita so there is also a possibility that Casey would have been included in the 'girls night' episodes with April & Sunita as well.

For your sep au what was Leo Raph and Donnies roigh timelines like? Also why does Donnie look shorter than everyone else (is he just slouching orrr)

Donnie has a problem with slouching, so it's mostly because of that.
But also because I may or may not have accidentally drawn him too low on the page
He's also now younger than Leo by a couple decades, so two much larger brothers made him look a lot smaller than I intended XD
The timeline stuff is a bit to explain.
So allow me to explain!
Leonardo's timeline was veryyy similar to that of the first five minutes of the movie. The Kraang invaded, the Resistance was formed.
And the Resistance failed.
One by one, the Hamato clan and friends fell. Raph died protecting refugees fleeing a Kraang prison camp. Soon after, Splinter succumbed to old age. Cassandra hung herself after being captured by the Kraang so they wouldn't be able to get important intel. A few years later, Donnie was killed in a freak lab explosion, and Mikey just. . . disappeared.
When the Kraang finally found the Resistance base, Leonardo was injured in battle, and April sacrificed herself to buy Casey Jr. enough time to get him and Leo to safety. Now, it was just the two of them struggling to survive.
Then the Kraang decided to leave Earth, assuming they had successfully concurred humanity.
So Casey and Leo set out to take down the Technodrome, determined in keeping the Kraang trapped on Earth to protect the rest of the galaxy or die trying.
And miraculously, they succeeded. But Casey died during the mission.
Alone for years on a planet now practically equivalent to the prison dimension, Leonardo only kept trying to survive because Casey Jr. made him promise to before the Kraang ended his life.
When the other Michelangelo found him, Leo was close to breaking that promise. Fortunately, he had held on for a little bit longer.
Raphael's timeline is almost the exact same as the events of the movie.
He was captured by the Kraang, infected and kraang-ified. His brothers came to rescue him and stop the Kraang.
But Leo wasn't able to get through to his big brother.
Something important to note is that Raph never stopped fighting for control. He was so determined to break free, because his brothers needed him. It was annoying for the Kraang, really. It's easiest to control broken spirits, and Raph wasn't about to break any time soon.
So the Kraang forced him to do the one thing that would shatter his resolve. They made him kill his own brothers, rip them limb from limb with his own bare hands.
It's an image likely to haunt him for the rest of his life, and is only one of the things the Kraang made him do.
Raph was under their control for years, both prisoner and soldier. He was quick to become the Kraang's favorite play thing, seemingly enjoying the torment they put him through; physically, mentally, emotionally, psychologically.
Over time, the Kraang infection within became a permanent part of him. Then Michelangelo rescued him, using his mystic powers to free Raph's mind, and brought him to his new home.
Now unlike the other two, Donatello never got the chance to meet the Kraang.
Mostly because he and his brothers never took down the Shredder.
They were going to of course. They went to rescue their dad, they had their Hamato ninpo. But things went terribly wrong.
Cassandra tried to free Splinter, just like in the show. But the Shredder ended her before she had the chance. With so much power coursing through him, there was nothing the turtles could do. Draxum was down next.
Without any backup, it was four against one, and the turtles weren't fairing too well. And in this timeline, they had never met April. The brothers did their best, but Shredder was just too strong.
During the battle, Mikey was critically injured. Raph and Leo gave one look at each other, and together held off the Shredder just long enough for Leo to portal Donnie and Mikey away to safety.
Donatello couldn't do anything as Mikey died in his arms.
Over the next year, Earth became a mafia state, with the Foot at the very top. Donnie did his best to keep a low profile, turning to a life of crime to scrape by. He's been betrayed by would-be friends, stabbed in the back more times than he can count.
He's learned that the best way to stay safe is to not get attached. Anyone who tries to be your friend is bound to hurt you.
Then, he was proven right.
Often times, gangs would hire him for his tech. On one such instance, the Purple Dragons managed to convince him to team up with them on a high pay heist. Donnie knew it was a bad idea from the start, but against his better judgement, went along with it.
The Purple Dragons obviously betrayed him, stealing all of his tech and research. And Kendra being. . . well, Kendra, she decided to take it a step further, to kill Donnie right there.
That's when the other Michelangelo arrived, rescuing Donatello.
To put it simply, these three have been through hell. They have a lot of issues, and a lot of stuff to work through.

Giggling at the fact that Donnie probably has a lot of only child habits like only getting food for himself and eating it Infront of them and getting genuinely annoyed if they try to steal some. Astonished when they borrow anything of his without permission (WHO MOVED MY PENS?!). Being genuinely perplexed when one of his chores gets done randomly 😭
Poor Donnie isn't in on any of the inside jokes probably 😔
LMAO yeah I've been thinking about Only Child Donnie a lot XD
For example, Donnie having no idea how to differentiate between normal sibling bickering and genuine fights. After Raph starts hanging out with Donnie and Leo, he'll get to see way more of that classic sibling bickering in action. And considering Leo's tension with the rest of his family during this time because of the whole Dark Armor incident, he'd worry that Leo and Raph still feel some actual resentment towards each other. Leo and Raph are arguing with each other to the point they start play-wrestling and Donnie is all like "shit shit what do I do they're gonna hurt each other" and the next second Leo and Raph are laughing at random some joke and Donnie is just left confused over the whole interaction because what even was that?? Weren't they mad at each other just a second ago??
I will say though, me and my sibling weren't the type to just share each others stuff freely. Well, we did when we were young, most of our toys we both played with. But maybe because of that we got a bit possessive over our own stuff as we got older (we also shared a room until I was like 10-ish, so we were probably both a bit desparate to become separate induviduals at that point). Point is, if my bastard of a sibling even DARED to step foot into my sacred abode (my room) without my express permission, they would be forced to face my unbridled fury (I'd gently beat them up with pillows)! And if they were to steal as much as a single pencil from my treasury, my wrath would lead me to even more drastic measures (I'd snitch to our parents)!
That being said, I have no idea how The Drax Bros behaved regarding this when growing up. IF they were the type to just yoink each others stuff constantly (which I definitely think is possible) you are completely right that it would drive Donnie up the wall if they did the same to him XD
In my experience and from what I've observed with others, when you have siblings close in age to you, you tend to develop a very intense obsession with everything always needing to be 100% fair and equal. For example, if you're cutting up cake and your siblings piece is as much of a millimeter wider than your own piece, it's basically the end of the world. I can see Leo and Donnie sharing a pizza and afterwards Leo's all outraged over Donnie getting more pizza than him. Donnie's confused cuz they each got an equal amount of slices, but then Leo accuses Donnie of getting all the SLIGHTLY bigger slices and as such got a LITTLE bit more pizza than Leo! Completely unfair!
Actually, Donnie being a math nerd would be good at measuring food in this scenario, his brothers would constantly try to get him to divide any food they're sharing to make sure it's as even and equal as possible. Donnie quickly gets tired of this, but the alternative is the other turtles all arguing with each other over who gets which piece which is even more annoying so he just goes along with it lol.
And oh yeah, Donnie definitely feels quite left out whenever his brothers joke about or even mentions something they did growing up that he did not get to partake in (little does he know that his brothers feels similarly whenever he and April do the same thing and references stuff from their shared childhood that they did not get to be part of)

Let's take a step back (or rather, forward) and indulge my wandering mind. Behold! Bad Future Dragos!
I want it to be clear that these are at the... latest point in their lives (AKA, before they die) rather than all at the same time. The design choices are very deliberate in that case.
As always, off I ramble---
Raphael was often called the "Umbrella" of the Resistance, due to his habit of shielding those around him with his wings. He's always done this, ever since he was a dragonet, but the danger is much more real now, and he has a lot more people to protect. As it is, his wings are torn beyond repair. Unless he uses his Ninpo, flying is no longer an option. It's also because of this tendency to constantly throw himself into the front lines that he lost one of his legs. Lucky, Donnie was able to craft multiple prosthetics for him, as his size grew bigger and bigger each day, at a much faster rate than his brothers. Unfortunately, this also made him a bigger target, as he was the first Hamato casualty.
Speaking of Donnie, that serpent held the Resistance together, no doubt about it. He wasn't often put on the battlefield, as his skills were much more needed within their bases building defenses, weapons, armor, indoor gardens, and so much more. He was essential to their survival, working the hardest out of the group of engineers and construction workers they were able to recruit. However, after loosing his tail, back leg, and, temporarily, his voice to Krang hounds, he was kept strictly on base only, much to his dismay. With his focus so narrowed down to just build build build, Donnie created more and more pieces of tech to help him do so, like multiple Shelldon bodies and a constant supply of robot arms (that could of course be used as weapons in a pinch). In the end, keeping him so guarded didn't matter. When one of their hideouts was ransacked before they could escape, Donnie stayed behind to initiate a self destruct. He took out the sister Krang in the blast, as well as a sizable chunk of their army.
Leo was the seemingly fearless leader of the survivors, his way of words convincing countless people of all kinds to join their forces. He actually only took charge after Draxum's death, since the yokai had previous experiences in mass wars and lead them as well as he could prior to Leo. His fins have certainly seen better days, but swimming wasn't much of an option after a few years anyways, as the Krang eventually made the oceans far to toxic to be in. Eventually, with his fins so torn up, Donnie did make him prosthetic wings, as attacking from the air was such an incredible advantage. He also ended up taking one of Raph's old arms after a wound left them having to amputate, and resources to build a brand new one were slim pickings. Sadly, after Donnie's passing, there wasn't anyone with the same knowledge to fix and manage the wings, leading to them eventually just breaking off. Leo mostly uses them to stab aliens now.
Mikey gained a growing group of worshippers rather quickly. He hates it immensely, but his family finds it hilarious. With his mystic powers only gaining strength, and getting increasingly flashy as well, it wasn't too much of a surprise that people would see him as an angel, godlike figure, or deity. He was the heaviest hitter of the Resistance, even before Raph's passing, and spent any free time he had either speaking to their ancestors or helping people nurture the little remaining hope in their base. Despite being almost constantly on the frontlines of the worst battles, Mikey has the fewest scars.
AND, FINALLY: Heights. With a quickly added April to help out. Again, these are at the latest stage of their lives, because Raph would definitely have been Much Bigger Than That had he lived to be Leo's old man age.
(And Donnie has always been the taller twin. It's not his fault Leo had more time to gain a few inches on him.)

Hello, could you write a headcanon about Leo de Rottmnt on how he would react when he realizes he is in love with a human?
rise leo x gn reader
How many blind dates had he been on? Too many to count. He’d even agreed to be set up with Sunita’s cousin, who was the same sort of goop yokai except she was blue.
Every yokai he went out with, he always ended up ghosting them. Ignoring their messages, pretending not to know them when they ran into each other in the Hidden City. No matter how exasperated April and Sunita got, he just never felt right with any of them.
They all just seemed the same to him and he hated having to do small talk over and over again to just end up ignoring them a few hours after. It was a waste of time at this point. He should just pull a Donnie and write his age, favorite color, and hobbies down on a notecard and hand it off to the next yokai he went out with.
Not even at the bars or clubs he had followed Raph into had he spotted anyone. He always ended up slipping away into the crowd when everyone approached him.
His family was getting sick of him acting antisocial and then complaining about not having anyone. Hell, even Donnie was sneaking out at night, probably to meet someone.
The only one who ever listened to him without complaining was you now. Not that he could complain all the time, you were always busy and with your new… friends. He rolled his eyes at the thought of them.
You were always off with your completely 100% normal and human friend group, leaving him, his brothers, and April behind most of the time. April was always welcome but not them for obvious reasons.
You used to be at the lair everyday. Leo would share his comics. He’d teach you to skate. He’d throw popcorn at you when you ‘ooh’ed over a hot guy on love island. He barely saw you anymore. He’d portal into your room and it’d always be dark and empty.
And in every photo you had shown of your new friend group, there was always one bland looking dude right next to you. Always close, shoulders touching. Once you even giggled shyly when he mentioned it. It still made him mad just thinking about you going out with some shmuck that looked like every average guy walking around in the city.
He didn’t even look half as muscular as Leo. He didn’t have any of the flashy markings that glowed that Leo had. He couldn’t portal you to Paris or to the ancient pyramids. He didn’t even save the world. And yet you were probably more with him than with Leo.
Did you think of how Leo could effortlessly pick you up when that guy tried to do the same? Did he think of how Leo who could hold you up with one arm? Leo who could take you wherever you wanted?
At the very moment he was about to call you to find an excuse to complain about your guy friend, he finally realized what was actually doing on.
Of course he’d fall in love with someone he couldn’t have.
And it wasn’t like Leo could actually do everything with you like he tried to convince himself he could. You were a human and wanted to human things with human people. He couldn’t go into public with you. Kids would cry. Women would throw their purses at him. You’d be lonely with him.
So he didn’t call you. He’d let you hang out with your real friends and hopefully as you forgot about him, he’d be able to move on.

Can you do a Bayverse Raph x Childhood best friend reader who's kind of a girly girl (loves pink, knows a lot about makeup and fashion, likes dressing up in pretty and cute outfits, and is an absolute sweetheart).
During when the tower is falling (reader isn't here for this) and Raph is cofessing, is where he spills that he's loved the reader for years but never said anything because he felt like he wouldn't be good enough for her and that she deserves better is also around the time they just landed on the ground and his brothers as well as April know the truth about Raph's feelings for her, and reader feels the same but also didn't say anything because she was worried it would affect their friendship in a negative way.
The way they confess to each other could be very similar to Lumity, where his brothers set them up on a 'mission' together. Which is actually a set-up date that Raph destroys out of embarrassment and fear of getting rejected, which makes the reader sad because she thinks he doesn't like her. But after something goes wrong and protects the reader from it is when they finally tell each other
A/N: Hello, anon! I haven’t watched The Owl House in a hot minute, but I tried my best to capture the vibe of *that* episode in a TMNT context. Thank you so much for the request; it was fun to finally write some Bayverse turts!
Rooftop Confession (angst/fluff)
❤️ Bayverse Raphael/Female Reader ❤️
CWs: Near-death situations (past & present), angst/insecurity, mutual pining, first kiss, happy ending. Takes place between the first movie and Out of the Shadows. All characters are aged-up.

The memory still hits Raph sometimes, sharp and sudden. Hanging onto that crumbling tower, the world tilting beneath him, the certainty of oblivion pressing in. He remembers that moment when, with everything stripped away, the raw truth clawed its way out.
“I … I shoulda told her,” he remembers choking out, the words torn from him by fear and regret, barely audible over the roar of destruction.
Leo, Donnie, and Mikey—they heard it. April, clinging nearby, heard it too.
“I always loved her. Since we were kids. But she deserves better. Someone … normal. Not a freak like me.”
They survived, somehow. Landed hard, bruised and battered, but alive. The confession hangs in the air between him and his brothers, an unspoken acknowledgment. They know. April knows. The only one who doesn’t know the depth of his feelings for you is … you.
❤️ Some Months Later ❤️
You adjust the bow on your pastel pink crossbody bag, humming softly as you follow Leo through the lair’s entrance tunnel.
Tonight’s outfit is one of your favorites: a soft, lavender A-line dress with little white flowers embroidered on the hem, paired with cute white sneakers that have delicate ribbon laces. You’ve also done your makeup—a shimmery pink eyeshadow, a touch of blush, and your signature strawberry-scented lip gloss.
Dressing up always makes you feel happy, even if you’re just hanging out in a sewer lair with your giant turtle friends.
Especially one giant turtle best friend specifically.
Your heart does its usual little flutter-kick when you see Raph leaning against a wall, arms crossed, looking characteristically grumpy. But you know him, know the slight softening around his eyes when he sees you, even if he tries to hide it. You’ve been friends since you were both kids—you, the bright-eyed human girl fascinated by the shadows. And him, the equally fascinated mutant turtle hiding within them.
You share secrets, scraped knees, and watch terrible late-night movies together. And somewhere along the way, your childhood affection has blossomed into something deeper. Something you are terrified to name for fear of shattering the precious bond you already have.
“Alright, team,” Leo says, clapping his hands together. “Quick recon mission tonight. Donnie picked up some unusual activity near the old waterfront warehouse district. Could be the Foot stirring things up, so we need a quiet approach.” He looks pointedly between you and Raph. “Raph, your strength might be needed if things get heavy. And you—your observational skills are top-notch. And frankly, you blend in better than the rest of us. But make sure to keep comms open and report back.”
You try to ignore the way your stomach flips at the idea of working closely with Raph tonight. “Just us? Are you sure, Leo?” you ask, tilting your head.
Mikey practically vibrates with suppressed energy behind Leo, giving you an overly enthusiastic thumbs-up. Donnie adjusts his glasses, looking suspiciously focused on a scanner that isn’t turned on. April, leaning against Donnie’s desk, offers you a small, encouraging smile.
Something feels … orchestrated.
“Positive,” Leo answers firmly. “Now gear up, you two.”
Raph grunts, pushing off the wall. He doesn’t meet your eyes directly, which is odd. Usually, he’d at least give you a nod or a gruff, ‘hey.’
You grab Donnie’s enhanced binoculars and a pair of comms devices from his desk, attaching one to your dress. You hold the other out for Raph, who takes it without a word. His thick fingers brush yours for the briefest second, and a pleasant jolt zings up your arm. He recoils as if burned, shoving the device into a belt pouch before storming towards the exit and muttering under his breath.
You follow him out, casting a quick, slightly bewildered glance back at the others. Mikey is practically bouncing on the balls of his feet, Donnie is suddenly very interested in polishing his glasses, Leo gives a sharp nod that feels more like a dismissal, and April just winks.
Okay, definitely orchestrated.
You hurry after Raph, your sneakers quiet on the concrete floor. “Raph? Everything okay?” you ask softly as you catch up in the tunnel leading out.
“Peachy,” he grunts, his voice tight. He won’t look at you.
The silence stretches between you as you walk. Usually, these tunnels echo with your shared laughter or Raph’s rumbling complaints about Mikey’s latest prank. His shoulders are rigid, his sais held tight at his sides, radiating a tension that has nothing to do with the upcoming mission. It prickles against your skin, making your own nerves fray.
You risk a sideways glance at him. His jaw is tight, his gaze fixed firmly ahead. The usual grumpy facade is there, but underneath it simmers something else—something agitated and uncomfortable. It hurts, just a little, this sudden wall between you. He’s never been this closed off before.
“So,” you try again, keeping your voice casual. “Waterfront warehouses. Creepy. Think we’ll see any ghost pirates?” You’re referencing an old inside joke, a ridiculous B-movie you watched together years ago. Normally, it would earn you at least a scoff, maybe even the faintest hint of a smile.
He doesn’t break stride. “Focus,” he grunts, the word clipped.
You bite your lip, feeling a flush creep up your neck. Fine. If he wants to be all business, then so can you. “Right.”
You adjust your bag again, suddenly self-conscious about your dress and sneakers. Maybe dressing up wasn’t the best idea for potential Foot Clan trouble. But Leo knew what you were wearing …
You pull your own focus inward, scanning the tunnel ahead, trying to push down the disappointment churning in your stomach. Why is he acting like this? Did you do something wrong?
You emerge from the sewers near the waterfront. The air here is cool, carrying the distant sounds of the city—a lone siren, the rumble of traffic on a far-off bridge. Ahead, the hulking shapes of the warehouses loom against the night sky, their windows dark.
“Okay, Leo said quiet approach,” you murmur, more to yourself than to Raph, pulling out the binoculars. You scan the nearest rooftop, looking for movement or any sign of Foot activity.
Raph moves ahead, his enormous frame surprisingly silent as he hugs the shadows along the alley wall ahead. He pauses at the corner, peering around it cautiously before gesturing for you to follow. As you move to join him, your sneaker catches on uneven pavement. You stumble, letting out a tiny gasp.
Instantly, a large, three-fingered hand shoots out, steadying your arm. The touch is firm, grounding, and sends another jolt through you. You look up, surprised, straight into Raph’s eyes. And for a fraction of a second, the wall is down.
You see the worry in his gaze, the familiar protective instinct overriding whatever else is bothering him. His grip tightens almost imperceptibly, a reflex honed over years of watching out for you. Then, just as quickly, it’s gone.
He snatches his hand back, turning away sharply. His shoulders tense up again, maybe even more than before. “Watch your step,” he mutters, his voice rougher than usual. He doesn’t wait for a reply, just melts back into the shadows at the corner, resuming his watch.
Your heart skips a beat, though it’s tangled with confusion. That brief moment—that flicker of the Raph you know—only makes his current behavior more baffling. He’s here, right beside you, but he feels miles away. And whatever this mission is, you have a growing suspicion that the real challenge tonight won’t be finding the Foot.
It’ll be navigating the strange, sudden distance between you and your best friend.
You activate your comm. “Okay, Leo, we’re topside at the waterfront. Area looks clear for now. Anything else we should be looking out for?”
There’s a crackle, then comes Leo’s voice. “Negative, just keep your eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary. How’s … uh … how’s the teamwork going?”
You glance at Raph’s stiff back. “It’s … quiet,” you say carefully.
“Good! Good! Quiet is good for recon!” Leo replies quickly. Then you hear a muffled shuffling sound and what might be Mikey whispering, “Ask them if they’re holding hands yet!” followed by a sharp “Mikey!” presumably from Leo or Donnie, and then static.
Your cheeks flush. Okay, now you know for sure. This isn’t a mission. This is a set-up. Raph’s brothers—they’ve thrown you two together out here. But why? And why is Raph acting like he’d rather wrestle Shredder blindfolded and unarmed than be alone with you?
“So,” you say, deciding to push forward with the charade, mostly because you don’t know what else to do. “Rooftop access?”
Raph grunts and points at a rusty fire escape ladder on the side of the nearest warehouse. “There,” he says, moving towards it.
He tests the lowest rung, satisfied when it holds his weight, and begins to climb without a word. You follow, hoisting yourself onto the first rung. You focus on the climb, placing your feet carefully, acutely aware of his broad back moving steadily above you.
Normally, Raph would check back, offering a hand even though he knows you’re capable, grumbling about making sure you don’t fall. Tonight, he just climbs, putting distance between you—and the hurt twists a little deeper in your chest.
You reach the flat, gravel-strewn roof, panting slightly. Raph is already crouched near the edge, his silhouette stark against the faint glow of the city lights reflecting off the low clouds as he scans the cluster of warehouses. You join him near the edge, keeping a respectful distance, the silence stretching taut between you.
The rooftop overlooking the warehouse district is surprisingly nice, in a way. The city lights glitter in the distance, reflecting off the dark water. There is even a small, neglected rooftop garden across the street with overgrown planters. It feels almost … romantic.
You take a deep breath of the crisp night air. “It’s actually kind of pretty up here, isn’t it?” you offer, trying to break the tense silence.
Raph swats away a loose piece of gravel. “It’s a rooftop. Concrete and pigeon crap.”
You wince slightly at his tone. “Right. So, uh … any signs of Foot activity?” you finish lamely, pulling the binoculars back up to your eyes, though you’re not really looking at anything.
He shifts beside you, sweeping away another stone, sending it skittering across the rooftop. “Nope,” he grunts. “Place is dead quiet. Just like Leo probably knew it would be.” There’s an edge to his voice, a raw frustration that goes beyond simple grumpiness.
Lowering the binoculars slowly, you turn to face him more directly. You can feel the thump of your own heart against your ribs. “Raphael,” you begin, your voice softer than you intended. He flinches, just slightly, like the sound of his full name startled him. He finally glances towards you, though his gaze lands somewhere near your shoulder, not quite meeting your eyes. “What’s wrong?”
He stiffens immediately, crossing his thick arms over his plastron. “Nothin’s wrong. Told ya. Just doin’ the mission.”
“No,” you persist, finding a little more firmness. You know him too well to buy that. “Something is wrong. You’re barely speaking to me. And you’ve been acting weird ever since we left the lair. Did I … do something?” Your voice trembles slightly on the last question.
His head snaps up slightly at the tremor in your voice, a flicker of alarm crossing his features before he clamps down on it. “No!” he says, the word sharp, almost explosive. Then, quieter, more strained, “You didn’t do nothin’. It’s just … this whole thing is stupid.”
“Stupid? The mission?” you ask, latching onto the excuse, even though your gut tells you it’s not the entire story.
“Yeah! The ‘mission’!” He practically spits the word out, gesturing vaguely at the empty warehouses spread out below. “Leo sends us out here for nothin’. Just … gawkin’ at empty buildings in the dark.” His frustration is palpable, rolling off him in waves. He still won’t quite look at you.
“So you’re mad at Leo?” you probe gently, sensing you’re circling the actual issue.
He scrubs a hand over his face, his expression a turbulent mix of anger and something else. Embarrassment? Conflict? “Yeah. Mad at Leo.” He pauses, then mutters under his breath, almost inaudibly, “and Donnie. And Mikey.”
“Why?” The question hangs in the air, though the orchestrated nature of the evening has become blindingly clear. “Because they sent us out alone?”
Raph finally looks at you.
The raw emotion swirling in his eyes makes your breath catch. It’s frustration, yes, but tangled with a vulnerability that mirrors the look you saw when he caught you stumbling in the alley. He is watching you, a strange mix of frustration and something softer flickering in his eyes before he quickly looks away, scowling harder.
“This is dumb,” he growls, suddenly rising, pacing back and forth. “Just standin’ around. We should be doing somethin’.”
Your usually bright demeanor dims again, and a knot of disappointment forms in your stomach. Usually, even when Raph is moody, he isn’t this dismissive towards you.
You hug your arms around yourself, the pretty dress suddenly feeling even sillier. “If you don’t want to be here with me, you can just say so. Leo can send Donnie or Mikey.”
Raph stops pacing, looking genuinely taken aback for a second. “What? No, it’s not … It’s not you. It’s this whole … mission.” He gestures vaguely again, looking flustered. “It’s pointless.”
His words, meant perhaps to reassure, land wrong. This—being here with you—feels pointless to him?
Tears prick the corners of your eyes, and you quickly blink them back, turning away to stare fixedly at the skyline. “Oh. Okay.” Your voice is small.
Raph opens his mouth, then closes it, running a hand over his head in frustration. He looks utterly miserable, caught between his fierce feelings and his equally fierce fear. He hates seeing you sad, especially when he knows he is the cause. But the thought of confessing—of seeing potential pity or rejection in your eyes—it paralyzes him.
This whole set-up by his brothers is backfiring spectacularly.
Suddenly, a low groan echoes from the structure beneath your feet. Not metal stress. But something heavier, older. Concrete shifts.
“What is that?” you ask, glancing down nervously.
Before Raph can answer, a loud CRACK splits the air. The section of rooftop near the edge, right where you are, buckles violently. A chunk of concrete the size of a small car breaks loose, plummeting towards the alley below, and taking the patch of roof you are on with it.
You cry out, stumbling backwards as the ground disappears beneath you while Raph roars your name.
In a fraction of a second, all his awkwardness, fear, and frustration vanish, replaced by instinct. He launches himself forward, his massive green hand clamping around your wrist like a vise just as your feet leave the stable part of the roof. He hauls you back, stumbling himself but managing to pull you against his plastron, shielding your body with his own.
You land hard against his chest, the air knocked out of you, heart pounding against his like a drum. His arms are iron bands around you, holding you so tight you can barely breathe. Dust fills the air. Below, the chunk of concrete smashes into the alley with a deafening crash.
For a long moment, neither of you moves. You are trembling, clinging to the rough texture of his skin, the solid reality of him beneath your hands. He is holding you as if his life depends on it, his breathing ragged.
Finally, he loosens his grip slightly, tilting your chin up with one finger, his eyes scanning you frantically. “You okay? You hurt?” His voice is raw, thick with adrenaline and fear.
“I-I’m okay,” you stammer, tears finally spilling over, born of shock and relief. “You … you saved me, Raph.”
Seeing your tears, his expression crumples. “Aw, hell, I …” He trails off, looking down at you cradled in his arms, so small and fragile compared to him. The nearness, the lingering danger, almost losing you—it breaks down the last of his carefully constructed walls. “I’m sorry. For before. For bein’ a jerk.”
You shake your head, still trying to catch your breath. “It’s okay.”
“No,” he insists, his gaze intense, locking with yours. “It’s not okay. I ruined it. This … this whole thing.” He takes a shaky breath. “Leo an’ the guys—they set this up. This wasn’t just recon. It was supposed ta be … somethin’ else.”
Your eyes widen slightly. Like … a date?
“I panicked,” Raph admits, looking deeply ashamed. “Because … look at ya. You’re amazing. Always have been. So bright, and kind, and perfect.” He gestures at himself. “And I’m just … this. And I freak out, thinkin’ there’s no way someone like you can ever”—he pauses, swallowing hard—“feel the same way about someone like me.”
He finally echoes the words he confessed on that falling tower. “I’ve loved you for years. Since we were kids, watchin’ cartoons. But I was scared. Scared I’m not good enough. Scared I’ll ruin everything. I think you deserve … better.”
Waves of emotion wash over you—shock, understanding, overwhelming relief. The tears flow freely now, but they aren’t sad tears.
You reach up, your hand trembling slightly as you cup his cheek. “Oh, Raphie,” you whisper, using his old childhood nickname. “You idiot.” A watery giggle escapes you. “You big, strong, wonderful idiot.”
Now, he’s the one whose eyes widen in surprise.
“You think I didn’t feel the same?” you continue, your voice gaining strength. “You think I didn’t spend years wondering if you saw me as anything more than just your human friend? I was scared too, Raph. Scared of losing you, losing our friendship if I said anything, if I misread everything. Scared I wasn’t tough enough, or cool enough, for you.”
You press your forehead against him. “You’re not ‘just this.’ You’re brave, and loyal, and you protect the people you care about more fiercely than anyone I know. You have the biggest heart, even if you try to hide it under all that grumpiness. How can I not fall for you?”
He stares at you, his usual scowl completely gone, replaced by stunned vulnerability. “You … you mean that?”
“Every word,” you breathe.
Slowly, tentatively, he leans down. You meet him halfway, your lips brushing against his in a kiss that is hesitant at first, then deepens with all the years of unspoken longing. His hands are infinitely careful as one cups the back of your head, the other resting gently on your waist.
And when you finally pull back, breathless, you are both smiling.
“So,” Raph mumbles, a faint blush creeping up his neck. “This, uh, date kinda sucked hard until the end.”
You laugh. “Yeah, well, the ending was pretty spectacular.” You feel safe and warm nestled against him, the earlier hurt completely forgotten. “Maybe we can try again? Somewhere more structurally sound?”
He chuckles. “Yeah, I’d like that,” he says, tightening his arm around you protectively.
Your comm crackles to life. “Uh, guys? Everything okay?” Leo’s voice sounds cautious. “Donnie lost your signal for a minute after that tremor.”
Raph glances down at you, a smirk playing on his lips as he switches on his own comm. “Yeah, Leo. Everything’s fine. More than fine.” He pauses, then adds, unable to resist, “Mission accomplished.”
You giggle, burying your face against his plastron as you hear Mikey whooping victoriously over the comms. The set-up might have gone disastrously wrong, but sometimes, it takes a little chaos to finally knock down the walls and let the truth come tumbling out.
And looking up at Raph’s relieved, smiling face, you know one thing for certain …
This ending was worth the wait.

Mating seasons with the boys 😈
Mating Season (18+)
2003!Turtles x reader
A/N: It wasn’t specified what version of the turtles, so the lucky wheel decided on the 03 boys💚 I have this idea that the 2003 boys are Yellow-bellied sliders (mainly from their appearance, green shells and yellowish plastrons with no markings). I don’t focus a lot on nesting, as male turtles don't partake in the creation of nests, so I had a hard time writing it and therefore decided to skip it.
All characters are aged up.
Warnings: Talk of masturbation, sex and all that.
Important For All:
Yellow-bellied sliders usually go into mating during the months from March to July, and the mutant did not make the guys immune to that. The boys quickly found out that their season usually lasts for around a week, often around the month of April. Normally they would all go into their season around the same time, hiding out in their rooms, not wishing to be “interrupted”, nor embarrassed by what they were doing.
However, it has happened that the brothers have entered their seasons at different times, and at different lengths. It has occurred before that they have entered their seasons at different months from each other, with poor Donatello suffering throughout all of May that year, while Michelangelo was lucky with five days during March, all while Leonardo forced himself through two horrible weeks in April, and Raphael powered through a hard week in June.
Each year, they could never really be sure when their season would fall. They would just sort of feel it come up a few days before, and would scramble around to prepare themselves, making them anxious and nervous. For that reason it wasn’t hard for outsiders to understand what was going on. Splinter, being the observant father that he was, would notice and know exactly what was going on, letting them skip training until their season was over.
Leonardo:
Leo had never been a big fan of his mating season. Before he got a partner, he found that it got in his way, clouding his mind and making it hard for him to focus. He often tried to push it away, acting like it wasn’t there, hoping that it would let him gain back control in some way. But he found that everytime he did so, it only came right back around, hitting him even harder than before, causing him to bite down on his blanket in order to stay silent while he mounted his pillow in the middle of the night, praying that no one would walk in on him.
With the exception of that one time where Donnie was stuck in his room for a whole month, Leo was typically the one with the longest seasons, most likely a by-product of him trying to push his animalistic desires away, not wanting to give into something he did not decide for himself. But then he met you.
Leo’s first season after meeting you, was much shorter than his seasons usually were. That week, he just couldn’t keep his hands away from himself, for the first time not pushing his natural instincts away. By finally not holding back and letting his animalistic instincts kick in, he found that his mating season became much more pleasurable and easier to get through. Even if it meant ruining a good pillow…
When you and Leo finally got together, he finally learned how great his mating season actually could be. It took some time before he was comfortable sharing this time with you, but when he finally did, he wished he would have done it sooner. Finally he was able to let go of all this pent up sexual frustration in a way that felt satisfying, bringing pleasure to both him and you. And it was during these times with you, that he for the first time wished that his season would continue on for another week, just so he could keep this experience going with you.
Raphael:
Raph had a love-hate relationship with his mating season. He loved how he could get a whole week, where he could pleasure himself and feel good. Raph did and still loves taking care of himself and his body - he eats pretty healthy and works out quite a lot, and he looooves making his own body feel good. However, he hates how it’s never enough for him. He could fuck his hand or fleshlight for hours, feeling the amazing high rush over him, only to feel the need to do it all over again. It was almost enough to drive him mad, causing his mood to get rather dark very quickly, causing his sessions to turn into angry sessions very easily.
But when Raph first started crushing on you, he absolutely HATED his mating season. He felt like a crazy cave man in his room, fucking whatever he could get a hold on with the thought of you in his mind. Raph did not like what this time did to him. He found himself tempted to steal things from you, just in order to have your scent around him. He felt sneaky, like he was tricking you. In the few days he could feel his season come up, he would ask you to spend time with him in is room, so he wouldn’t miss you as much during the week he wouldn’t see you, only to fuck himself sensless in the places you had been.
His lucky break and mental relaxation came when you started dating, and it didn’t take long before Raph asked if you wanted to join him for the week. Although you didn’t spend the season with him the first year you were together, the second year you definitely were, and finally, Raph came to a point where fully enjoyed his season. Letting go and letting his instinct flow, making him feel whole during this time with you. It was almost surprising, maybe even scary how intimate it was to do this. It was a depth none of you had felt before. It was a bonding experience, and Raph would forever be grateful that you agreed to do this with him, finally letting him have a season where he didn’t feel like a crazy, angry mad man, but someone that was truly in love.
Donatello:
Donnie liked to think that he was too smart for his mating season. That his intellect took up a bigger part of his brain than any of his animalistic urges ever did. But in all honesty, Donnie knew that his mating season had nothing to do with that. He could fight it as much as he wanted, but in the end, he was still a mutant turtle that had to go through his mating season. But with his second longest mating seasons of all the brothers, it was evident that he did not fully embrace it. There was that one year that he decided to fully deny his mating season, ignoring it, thinking it would disappear after a week or so. But in the end, Donnie ended up with a whole month of constant boners, wet dreams, ruined bedsheets and almost painful orgasms at the end of the month. Never again would he try to ignore his natural urges, nor try to fool himself into thinking that he was “too good” for them.
When you entered the turtles’ lives, and Donnie first started gaining a crush on you, he almost felt ashamed for his season. The fact that he would hide out in his room and think of you while he touched himself made him feel awful. What kind of horrible friend was he, in order for him to think about you like that? Horrible enough in Donnie’s own mind, that he did nor gain much pleasure from his sessions alone, but a lingering feeling of shame and longing.
But the world decided to smile down upon Donnie, giving him the opportunity to start dating you. And boy, did he jump at that opportunity. It made him feel less self continuous when he touched himself to the thought of you. It took some time before Donnie let you spend his season with him in the lair, but that did not stop you from sending him pictures or even calling him, letting him know that it was okay, and that you did indeed want to spend that time with him. And then, finally, he let you come down to the lair for the kinkiest sex you had had in a long time.
Michelangelo:
Mikey might actually be the only one of his brothers that sort of looked forward to his mating season. A week or two where he could do nothing but jerk off in the comfort of his bunk bed in his bedroom, no training and only getting up to eat? Oh, don’t mind if I do, as Mikey liked to say as he skipped off to his room, at the first signs of his season coming up. He liked to have fun with it, trying different things, and at times even sneak out of his room to help himself out in other places, just for the giggle. But sadly for Mikey, he was the one with the shortest seasons on average, rarely giving him enough time to enjoy himself before it was time to go back to training alone with his brothers. That’s at least how it was before he met you.
After Mikey met you and developed a crush on you, his mating season took a whole new turn. It was no longer just fun and enjoyable with a bunch of self pleasure, but almost painful. Like he hadn’t eaten in days, and no matter how hard he tried to feed himself, nothing worked. All he could think about was you, and how he wasn’t buried inside of you at that very moment. His seasons became longer during this period, and he did not like it one bit, wishing back to the days where his own hand was enough to satisfy him. He no longer ventured out of his room to have fun, but stayed in his bunk bed, wishing and dreaming that the pillow he was plowing into was you, moaning his name and begging him to keep going.
With you and Mikey then getting together later on, Mikey wasted no time asking you to spend his season with him, and help him out with his undesirable painful hunger. You happily agreed, and once again Mikey found his season to be fun and enjoyable. He once again started to have fun with it, trying all sorts of positions with you, going so far as to fuck you different places around the lair, making this time of year a very anticipated one for the two of you.

The closest Gio comes to fussing is when he thinks Splinter is going to put him down. His fist tightens in the front of Splinter’s robe and his eyes get shiny and his lower lip starts to pucker. Raph can tell a baby brother that’s about to cry from a mile away and similarly Donnie goes stock-still under Raph’s arm and makes an alarmed noise in his throat, like someone witnessing the improper handling procedures of a live explosive.
But Splinter is only resituating his hold to sit them both on the sofa, where Gio is parked comfortably in his father’s lap, and no tears are shed. The baby’s or anybody else’s.
“I trust you have been taking pictures,” Splinter says in a tone that suggests he will seriously consider disowning all of them if otherwise.
“Father, am I a joke to you?” Donnie asks flatly. “SHELLDON has already texted all of you the link to a shared photo album which syncs automatically at the top of the hour.”
“SHELLDON is the only trustworthy person in this house,” Splinter tells Gio, ignoring Donnie’s offended squawking. “Your silly brothers haven’t even found you something warm to wear! And look at your little arms, you are practically just skin and bones! They haven’t fed you either, I take it? Pah. Clearly we must do everything ourselves around here.”
“Dad,” Mikey whines, “we were gonna do all of that! We just got home!”
“Are you seriously holding a grudge because we missed your calls?” Leo asks incredulously. “You left me on read for two days once.”
“There are five of you and not one of you picked up the phone. Ridiculous.”
Gio is staring up at Splinter’s face. Some of the words going back and forth over his head are clearly too big for him to follow, and he’s missing vital context to fill in all the gaps, but Splinter’s voice is still that one exclusive to very little turtles. His normal register, just lower and calmer, easily shifting from soothing to playful without much tonal change. And Gio is absorbing it like a reptile basking in the sun. Like he’s never heard anything like it before.
Raph wants to convince himself that there are plenty of reasons for Gio to never have been spoken to lovingly at this age. He can’t think of a single one, but there must be.
April can’t stay for much longer, because she has a nine o’clock class in the morning that she can’t skip and she told her mom she’d be home for dinner. But she promises to return tomorrow with Gio-sized clothes come hell or high water.
“Just as soon as I figure out how to tell my mom I need baby stuff without her jumping to the worst possible conclusion,” April says, sounding hunted. She crouches in front of the sofa and adds, “Can I get a big hug for the road from my favorite polka dot?”
“Regular cuddlebug,” Leo remarks quietly, observing as Gio readily loops his skinny arms around April’s neck. He even rubs their cheeks together, marveling at the softness of her skin against his textured scales. April looks seconds away from scooping him up and running out the door with him.
“He hugs us all the time,” Raph replies, knowing as he says it that it’s not the same.
It would surprise a stranger to get a glimpse of the Gio that lives behind that resting murder face and closed-off body language, but Raph knows firsthand how affectionate his big brother is.
He lets little siblings stuff their hands in his coat pockets when it’s cold outside, and fall asleep on his shoulder halfway through a movie they insisted on watching, and crowd noisily into his personal space to claim his attention. And he does it as if it would never have occurred to him not to do it.
He’s never asked any of them for a hug, though. Now that he’s thinking about it, with a sinking feeling in his stomach, Raph can’t remember a single time that Gio asked anyone for anything at all.
Raph wishes for about the millionth time in his life that he could peel back the screen behind Leo’s eyes and catch a preview of the puzzle his brain is rapidly assembling piece by inscrutable piece into some bigger picture.
When April has finally wrestled with her cuteness aggression and won, giving Gio a final squeeze that would have been lung-crushing for a human person but only feels snug and affectionate to anyone with the built-in body armor of a turtle shell, she walks backwards towards the turnstiles blowing dramatic goodbye kisses to everyone else and Mikey steps up to bat.
“Time for the most crucial conversation of the day,” he says importantly. “Of our lives even,” he stresses, which Raph thinks might be pushing it. “What’s your favorite food in the whole world, Georgie?”
Gio is still waving goodbye to April with the hand holding the ladybug keychain, because the other is gripping tight to Splinter’s sleeve. It takes him a second to realize Mikey is talking to him, and a second after that for him to realize everyone is looking at him, anticipating his answer. He pulls both hands in tight to his middle again, even letting go of Splinter to do it, and doesn’t say anything at all.
“Kind of a big question, Miguelito,” Leo swoops in before the gap in the conversation can grow any larger than it will take a little hop to cross. “You have ten different favorite foods for each day of the week.”
“Oh, that’s fair,” Mikey allows. “And Donald wouldn’t be able to list ten foods he liked if someone put a gun to his head.”
“I have a refined palate,” says their brother who once famously refused to eat anything other than butter pasta for two and a half weeks in a row when he was thirteen. “Clemmys guttata are omnivorous, and opportunistic feeders. They eat whatever they can find underwater. Not to say our George wouldn’t love peanut butter toast and Lucky Charms as much as the next preschooler, but something tells me Michael wants options with a little more pizzazz.” And even though he has gone on record more than once in recent memory to state in no uncertain terms that he would sooner walk backwards into hell than eat any dish involving shellfish, Donnie goes on, “Don’t we have shrimp in the fridge?”
Mikey brightens, struck with inspiration. “I can work with that!”
He springs for the kitchen at full speed, hooking his arm through Leo’s on his way past and yanking his immediate older brother along with him—tribute selected for the mealtime assist.
Raph can hear them bickering playfully from here, and if he looks he’ll see that Leo is already tying on his favorite apron, folding it over the way he must have learned from all those hours following Hueso around the back of house at Run of the Mill. And Mikey will untie his and retie it the way Leo does it, like clockwork. Neither of them will stop talking even once until dinner is made, their unending, overlapping chatter the closest Raph has ever come to understanding those ASMR videos April and Donnie send back and forth in the group chat.
Similarly, Splinter’s ear twitches back toward the kitchen every so often, tuning in. And Donnie’s nervous energy is finally petering out. The battle shell disengages with a hiss of hydraulics, making Gio’s eyes get big and alarmed when it stands up on spiderlegs and walks in the direction of its charging dock in the lab.
“I bet yours doesn’t do that, huh?” Raph teases. Gio shakes his head no rapidly, and Raph feels fondness pop in his chest like a firecracker. “Don’t worry, mine doesn’t either. Donnie’s one of a kind.”
“Thank you, Raph, but we can discuss my blanket superiority later,” Donnie says, earning a thwap on the knee from the tip of Splinter’s tail. With the heavy armor off his back, Donnie sits cross-legged on the floor in front of the sofa comfortably, bracing his hands on his knees. “You understand English, but papa’s Japanese didn’t seem to land. Do you know sign?” He lifts his hands to sign along with the question, slow and deliberate.
“Dang, Raph didn’t even think of that,” Raph admits.
Gio watches Donnie’s hands repeat the question once. Uncomprehending, but very interested in whatever he’s doing.
“That’s okay,” Donnie says easily, and settles in to teach the way he once taught April. “Let’s start with the alphabet. This will be easy for you. I don’t make a habit of telling them this, lest it go to their heads, but all of my siblings share a fraction of my genius. Cut from the same cloth and all. We are a family of very smart cookies. And you,” Donnie tells him, “are a very, very smart cookie.”
“He’s a snickerdoodle!” the eavesdroppers in the kitchen bellow in tandem.
“You’re a snickerdoodle,” Donnie says solemnly. Splinter snorts, but otherwise doesn’t interrupt.
Raph worries for the first few minutes that the finger-spelling might be too advanced, and he doesn’t want Gio to get discouraged. How old are kids when they learn to spell, anyway? But Gio picks it up quickly, the shapes he makes with his fingers becoming less clumsy the longer Donnie walks him through his ABCs. Splinter always used to say he was surprised by how quickly the turtles tore through their learning material when they were little, and Gio is as much Draxum’s bizarre lab experiment as the rest of them are. Maybe that’s what Donnie meant in the first place.
Donnie hums something as he finger-spells H-E-L-L-O G-I-O, a tune that pings in the back of Raph’s mind as familiar and makes Leo giggle from over in the kitchen. Donnie smiles without even glancing that way, because the two of them have an inside joke for every other word they say, and it’s always kind of a special prize to make clever Leo laugh without meaning to.
“You’re alright but I’m here, darling, to enjoy the party,” Donnie shoulder-shimmies as he sings what Raph recognizes now as an electro-pop song that always features on Donnie’s heavy rotation playlist when it’s his turn to pick the music in the car.
“Don’t get too excited ‘cause that’s all you get from me, hey!” Leo pitches in loud enough that his voice carries over.
“Yeah, I think you’re cute, but really you should know,” Donnie continues, signing along to the words for his riveted audience, “I just came to say hello.”
Gio mirrors the ‘hello’ sign, a B handshape held to his forehead and then pushed away, and when Donnie makes a show of applauding this major accomplishment, he makes Gio giggle, too.
It’s the first sound he’s made since they met this version of him, and it makes all activity grind to an abrupt halt in the kitchen, Mikey freezing comically in the middle of a taste-test. Leo looks as stunned as Raph feels. Splinter catches his breath, and Donnie flaps his hands like he has to shake out the pure joy he’s experiencing in this instant or else explode with it.
“I told you guys I was the funniest,” Donnie whispers.
Gio giggles again, clearly a fan of Donatello. He’s hanging off Donnie’s every word, an expression on his face that Raph is utterly familiar with—a little turtle amazed by every single thing bigger turtles do. Gio glances over at Raph, still smiling, checking to see that Raph is smiling, too.
Raph’s cheeks hurt with how hard he’s grinning, as a matter of fact.
“How’s that song go again, Dee?” he says.
“I’m so glad you asked,” Donnie replies, and pairs his phone to the Bluetooth speakers.
When the music starts and Raph scoops Gio up into his arms, Gio shrieks with high-pitched, bubbly laughter, sweeter than any snickerdoodle cookie. Raph spins around, dancing them over to the kitchen, where Donnie has already dragged his twin into an absurd rendition of the waltz that Mikey is sandwiched in the middle of. Splinter parks himself on a stool at the island and watches over them with gooey eyes.
The garlic bread in the oven ends up burning around the edges before anyone thinks to save it, but Mikey carves away the bitter ends and gives the best piece to Gio. The shrimp alfredo is a success—Donnie’s plain alfredo received with ridiculous gratitude—and Gio eats until he’s nodding off at the table.
“We’ll skip bathtime tonight, I think,” Splinter murmurs, wiping Gio’s face and hands with a washcloth instead.
“Can we have a sleepover in the living room?” Mikey begs. “Please please please? We’ll be so careful, and he’ll love the string lights!”
“Only if you do not keep him awake with your shenanigans,” Splinter says sternly. “And only if Gray wants to go.”
“What do you say, Georgie? Sleepover?” Mikey says, crouching by Splinter’s chair to be face-to-face with the little guy in question. “We can turtle pile, and Donnie can bring the star projector out! His intro to astronomy TED Talk will put you right to sleep.”
“Offended scoff,” Donnie interjects. “I’ll have you know that presentation is peer-reviewed.”
“Believe me, Tello, we do know,” Leo says in the voice of a younger brother who has heard this argument enough times to recite it word for word.
Gio nods yes with his fist, one of the simple signs he’s learned this evening, but it’s Raph he puts his arms out to, and Raph whose shoulder he pillows his tiny head on with a quiet sleepy turtle sound that shoots like an arrow straight into Raph’s core.
He has no idea what Gio’s life looked like at this age. He thinks maybe it wasn’t anything like Raph’s childhood—maybe it was actually not very good at all. Someone taught Gio not to speak up, to watch everything closely and keep his hands to himself. Kids are sensitive to the moods around them, but it’s odd how Gio monitors expressions and tones like he’s measuring them against something in his head. It’s strange how careful he is.
Raph thinks of growing up with his brothers, getting into trouble and shouting matches and scuffles, making a mess of the kitchen and flooding the bathroom and breaking dishes and TV remotes out of clumsiness or carelessness. They would shuffle shamefacedly when they got scolded, and sometimes tear up and sometimes throw a tantrum, but they never, ever looked at Splinter with any fear.
Gio, Raph thinks, grew up a different way. Wherever he was. Whoever he was with. They didn’t love him right.
Feeling a hundred things all at once, each of them more prickly and upsetting than the last, Raph tucks Gio into the blanket Leo tossed over them before settling down and feeling the weight of his little brothers settling on and around him. It soothes the ache in his heart, and when Gio makes one final, sleepy click, it’s echoed on all sides by unthinking clicks and chirps, and by the rumble that starts up in Raph’s chest and rolls over the rest of them.

What if the turtles were in the pokemon world? And what if they were never turtles, but in fact, mutated pokemon? What if they lived in the Castelia sewers of Unova instead of New York?
Meet my Rise/Pokemon AU!! Waaaah this has been on my mind for MONTHS now. Pokemon is that one fixation that'll never leave me. I'm THAT pokemon fan that knows WAAAAY too much about the games and lore. For those that don't know,
Raph is Drednaw
Leo is Wartortle
Mikey is Torkoal
Donnie is Lapras
Yes. They are all shiny. I started with raph, since him as drednaw is pretty much a no brainer. The shiny form fit too well with him and his color scheme. Than I realized if I made him shiny, I had to make the other bros shiny as well so THEY ALL SHINY. (draxum shiny hunter confirmed?) Also dual rock typing fits well with raph's character.
Wartortle for leo was also a pretty obvious choice. I MEAN LOOK AT HIM. Long flowy tail? Yes please. I had to keep his markings somehow. Wartortle has little dark cheek spots, so I just changed them to be leo's markings. Water typing leo. Go with the flow, think on the spot, it worked out too well.
Torkoal for Mikey was another easy one. Fire turtle? Passionate, warm, also DANGEROUS (he can be a menace ok) Say no more. His powers in rise are already pyro related. Also having him shiny helped a lot with the color scheme. Torkoal is normally orange so having mikey be the yellow shiny form meant I didn't have to mess with his mask colors
Donnie on the other hand....OHHH BOI I STRUGGLED WITH YOU. I went through 4 DIFFERENT POKEMON, before deciding on the least turtle like of them all. I am aware that we do have a softshell pokemon with enamorous, but it's a legendary so thats not happening. But it was really important for me to keep donnie's soft shell and battle shell. I wanted this to be a RISE au and donnie's battle shell is pretty tied into his character. (there's also tirtouga which I almost went with, but I didn't like that both he and raph shared the exact same dual typing) Soooo, Lapras. Its more of a loch ness monster but it also draws inspiration from a placochelys (prehistoric seaturtle esque species) so IM COUNTING IT. Very unconventional but I have my reasons. Ice typing is a good offensive type, but is pretty bad defensively. Which ties into rise donnie's fighting style. If I wasn't a coward, I wouldve made donnie the biggest of the bros. Since lapras is like 8 feet tall compared to the others being like 1-3 feet. But uhhh, I swear I have an in universe explanation for why he's so small ok.
And than there's April. She is not a pokemon trainer in this au. At least not in the traditional sense. I've been with pokemon for all of my 26 years of life, and I always wanted to know what the normal people of the pokemon world are up to. Not everyone is out here collecting gym badges, travelling, or catching them all. How do non-trainers interact with the pokemon world? So that's where I'm at with April. She will get a pokemon partner, but other than that, she's just an average high schooler who befriended the turtles from a young age and takes part in all their shenanigans. I took some design elements from rosa and hilbert with her outfit, but otherwise its pretty much the same.
We'll see how far I'll take this. I've been using this as a break from my many other projects, but like everything I do, it grew too many legs and is slowly becoming its own thing.

Human Mikey! Follow up to this post ig? Leo Raph Donnie
AU Mastapost
Design notes under the cut!
Firstly, all the poses are directly referencing scenes in the show/movie
Secondly, these designs will be absolutely infused with my headcanons and ideas about the characters, so a lot of these things will be “because I said so” decisions based on the headcanons. My designs are pretty standard as far as RotTMNT human designs tbh.
I gave him vitiligo in places that match up with his canon placement, but also in places where I think his spots would develop over time (we see that he does gain spots in the movie, so…)
The big design is mainly based off his og design (pre-ninpo, basically). The overalls are meant to call back to his sash (?) thing, and the boots his funky spats (???). Also I gave him a slight heart motif because that his role! In the family, he is the heart! So many people don’t pay attention to that!
He has friendship bracelets that match with Donnie, Leo, Raph, Casey, Cass, and Sunita, and one that’s generally for the Mad Dogs. The heart necklace matches with April.
The gloves are kinda calling back to his ninpo gloves, but not really. They are the heart gloves though, because I thought it was cute. I kept debating if they should have little paint splotches on them, but decided against it in the end for simplicity’s sake.
His nails and beads use the same colours because I’m lazy, and his bandanna uses the same orange.
He drew the smiley faces on his knee spots. In the absence of kneepads, this is something he’d 100% do, you can’t fight me on this.
Unleash the flavour shirt because he still idolises Swaggart, but only a teeny bit.
I gave him the Jupiter Jim bumbag, but I forgot what it looks like and was too lazy to look it up, so I fudged it a little. He’d probably have paint markers in it.
He seems like the kinda guy to roll up his sleeves to avoid getting paint or cooking stuff on them.
Some miscellaneous stuff: Little piercings and ear cuffs he would be so happy about. Tooth gap. Fight me on this, I dare you. Dot eyebrows cos he is circle. Grey hair because he aged like dirt in the movie and I thought it would be funny. His colours also match his canon colours (orange, bluey cyan, pink)

I keep coming back to the turtle pile post, and see Cass in particular. What’s her relationship with April? What’s her relationship with Donnie? I know she and Raph sparred together, but how about her, Leo, and Mikey? What about junior? And splinter? Is her dynamic with Draxum similar to in the show or different cos he has kids? Tell me about Cass in your au pretty pleaseeeeeee
Got this ask just a little bit before I posted that Capril post so I suppose that answers your question about Casey and April lmao. At first they don't get along, basically exactly how it is in canon, until after season two which is when they start getting to know each other properly and then get all gay for each other lol.
Donnie thinks Casey is very very (that's two verys) annoying. She's loud, impulsive and way too hot-headed. Casey thinks Donnie is annoying cause he's a condescending know-it-all who is also way too hot-headed. Needless to say, they fight a lot XD. They start getting along better eventually and honestly become very close friends, but they still bicker all the time, that's just their dynamic now.
Mikey initially hates Casey purely because she's human and he thinks she's a bad influence on Raph (which maybe she is a little bit sometimes lmao let's be real) but he starts liking her more after he let's go of the whole hating-all-humans thing. I'm not 100% sure what Mikey's or Leo's dynamic with Casey looks like after they all start getting along better honestly. I think they both like Casey's craziness in limited amounts, but can quickly grow tired of it too. They do eventually both befriend her, but they're not as close to her as Raph is.
Casey's dynamic with Splinter is basically the same as what we see in canon honestly. With Draxum however it's different, they kinda bonded a bit in canon when Drax was working with The Foot, but Raph kinda steals that role in the AU so Draxum and Casey never really interacted much, if at all. After Raph and Casey starts to properly hang out as friends around season 2, then I'd imagine he gets to know her a bit better. Similarly to Mikey, he kinda views her as a bad influnence, but eventually starts appreciating her and Raph's friendship.
Then we get to Junior! In the bad timeline, while Casey does still die before CJ is sent back in time, she survives quite a long time. I'm thinking she dies when CJ is around 15-16 or something? A few years before the resistance falls but she's around for most of CJ's childhood. Which you know, it's nice for CJ to have his mom around, until she dies, and because she's been such a big part of his life before then her death arguably effects him more. By the time CJ travels back to the past, he's had a few years to deal with his mom's death, but by "dealing" with it I mean he's mostly been ignoring his grief cuz he straight up didn't have time for all that in the middle of the apocalypse. So when he ends up meeting the present timeline's Casey it's uh, it's a lot, and he's suddenly forced to confront all of that unresolved grief. I still need to figure out more of the details of exactly what their dynamic looks like, but needless to say is that CJ acts VERY awkwardly around Casey in the present timeline initially cuz that's just straight up his dead mom but also she's his age and also doesn't know him and it's weird XD I will say though, as soon as Casey figured out who CJ is she immidietly goes "FUCK YEAH that's my SON" so there's that

Could I request a mini fic or just one shot where after the 2nd bay movie the NYPD calls them while going over shredders stuff and turns out he has a daughter = us no one knew about and she's Already got a big ass criminal record and them and the nypd with april and casey see an old tape of videos how shredder raised her from baby on and meet her that same night? 🤩
Hello, Sorry it took me so long to write. But I hope you like it anyway! ♡♡♡♡

All For One We Fight Together
*.✧
It was a quiet night in the lair when Donnie’s phone buzzed with an unexpected call. He answered quickly, his expression shifting from surprise to concern as he realized who was on the other end.
“Uh, Leo,” Donnie muttered, lowering his phone. “You’re going to want to hear this.”
The team gathered around as he put the call on speaker. The detective’s voice came through the line. “We could use your help with something. During a raid on Shredder’s property, we found… well, some files. And you’re going to want to see them.”
After a hasty call to April and Casey, the team made their way to the police precinct, slipping in through a side door to avoid drawing too much attention. Inside, a small group of NYPD officers waited, April and Casey beside them.
The detective led them to a dimly lit room, a projector set up with an array of tapes stacked nearby. “Shredder kept some things hidden,” she explained. “What we found… it’s about his daughter.”
“Wait, Shredder had a daughter?” Leo asked, disbelief etched across his face. The brothers exchanged bewildered glances, trying to process this revelation.
“Not just a daughter,” April added, her voice shaky. “She’s got a long record—assault, theft, you name it. And we have no idea how much she knows about all of… this.”
The detective hit play, and the grainy image flickered to life on the screen.
The video began with a darkened room, where a much younger Shredder held a tiny, swaddled baby in his arms. Despite his usual cold demeanor, there was a softness in his expression as he whispered to her, a voice the brothers had never heard before.
“This world is dangerous, my child,” he said, his tone surprisingly tender. “But you will be strong. I will teach you to survive, to be powerful.”
The image faded, replaced by clips over the years: Shredder training you from a young age, teaching martial arts, weapon handling, and tactics. As you grew, your skills sharpened under his strict discipline. He had molded you into a warrior, his successor.
In one clip, you stood bruised and bloodied, looking up at Shredder with fierce determination, not an ounce of fear in your eyes. “Is that all you’ve got?” you spat, a hint of pride flickering in Shredder’s gaze as he watched his daughter push herself to her limits.
Raphael, fists clenched, muttered, “No kid should have to go through that. He didn’t raise her—he trained her like a weapon.”
The final clip showed her, now a young adult, facing Shredder in what looked like a mock combat scenario. You moved with lethal precision, face hardened. Your training had shaped you into something formidable, someone dangerous. The tape ended, the silence in the room thick and heavy.
“So… where is she now?” Leo asked, his voice a low whisper.
The detective glanced at the brothers. “We’ve tracked her to the city. She’s already on the move, and from what we can tell, she’s been active on the streets. She’s… well, she’s got a reputation.”
Casey whistled low. “You guys ready for another potential Shredder-level situation?”
Mikey shook his head. “We’re not dealing with another Shredder. She didn’t choose this—she had it forced on her. We’ve gotta at least try talking to her.”

That night, they found you.
You are perched on a rooftop, your back to them, silhouetted against the neon glow of the city. Your stance was tense, alert, like a predator ready to pounce. They approached slowly, Leo leading with cautious steps.
“You’ve been watching me, haven’t you?” you called, not even turning to face them. Your voice was cold, calculated, as if she’d been expecting them.
Leo took a deep breath, his tone steady. “We’re not here to fight. We wanted to meet you, to talk.”
Finally, she turned, and the brothers got their first look at Shredder’s daughter. Her gaze was piercing, her expression unreadable, and yet there was a glimmer of curiosity in her eyes.
“You’re the ones who took down my father.” Your eyes narrowed as you assessed each of them. “And now you come here… why?”
Mikey stepped forward. “Because… you’re not him. We saw the tapes. We know how he raised you, but you don’t have to keep living like that.”
The silence between you and the turtles stretched, heavy and tense. You could feel the weight of their sympathy, their misguided attempt to “help” you—though to you, it felt more like pity. Leonardo, was still watching you, his expression unreadable, but the softness in his eyes only deepened your resolve.
“I don't have to live like this?” You scoffed, stepping back, eyes narrowing. “What I don't need is people sticking their noses where they don't belong. Especially not a bunch of do-gooders who think they understand me.”
Raph bristled, fists clenching as he took a step forward. “Oh yeah? Maybe we don’t know everything, but we know you got dealt a crappy hand. That doesn’t mean you gotta be just like him.”
“Like him?” You cut him off, your voice venomous as you glared. “Shredder didn’t make me this way. He prepared me, trained me for a world where weakness gets you killed. You don’t get it. None of you do.” The frustration boiled over, and you clenched your fists, channeling every ounce of your bitterness and resentment.
Leo put his hands up, palms out in a placating gesture. “We’re not your enemy. We just want to help.”
You let out a bitter laugh, backing up into a fighting stance. “Help? Let’s see if you can even keep up.”
Without warning, you launched forward, catching them off guard. Your movements were quick, lethal, honed from years of intense, brutal training under Shredder’s watchful eye. You targeted Donnie first, sweeping his bo staff out from under him with a precise kick, sending him sprawling to the ground.
Raph lunged at you, but you sidestepped him with ease, twisting his arm behind his back and throwing him forward into Mikey, who barely managed to keep his balance. “Raph, wait!” Leo shouted, but it was too late. You’d already struck, and both Mikey and Raph went down, scrambling to regain their footing.
Leo moved in, and he was quick—quicker than you’d expected. His katanas flashed, each strike deliberate as he tried to pin you down, to wear you out without harming you. But you saw through his strategy and dodged, slipping past his guard and knocking one of his blades out of his hand.
Leo stumbled back, clutching his side, but his gaze never wavered. “You don’t have to keep fighting,” he said, his voice barely a whisper.
“Fighting is all I know. If you try to get in my way, you'll be dead.” With that, you spun on your heel, bolting toward the edge of the rooftop. They were still recovering, and before any of them could reach you, you’d leapt off, vanishing into the shadows of the city below.
The brothers watched, stunned, as you disappeared into the night. Mikey rubbed the back of his head, wincing. “Well, she’s got moves. Gotta give her that.”
Raph muttered under his breath, frustration evident. “We should’ve gone harder on her. She’s a real threat.”
Donnie, still catching his breath, sighed. “So what now? Just let her go?”
Leo’s gaze hardened. “We don’t stop watching. We’ll keep an eye on her. Now we know that she is not willing to cooperate with us.”
And with that, the turtles knew they couldn't look down on you. You could be like Shredder or... Something much worse.
