What if Leo and Usagi kiss under a mistletoe. Will they actually do it?

(For those who have not seen the Christmas Aliens episode; Raph’s operating a movable mistletoe to help Casey get a kiss from April and Mikey is missing for most of the Christmas night, getting chased around the city by some thieves).

Well… no. Not yet anyway and for quite some time.

It’s 2004, world wasn’t very kind to gay people back then, or helped much with figuring things out for young queers (I would know, I was one). He still needs some time to precess. He just found his first best friend and he’s cool and strong and makes him happy and that’s all he wants to think about rn.

On the other hand feudal Japan was surprisingly okay with two men being involved romantically (despite the problematic side of things… good place to remind everyone 03 Usagi is a teen as well), so he’s a little confused by Leo’s mixed messages.

It’s okay, they’r still kids figuring things out. And when they will, there’ll be time for kisses.

This project has been something I've wanted to do for a while but only now got around to actually making it.

The real painting's name is The Defense of the Sampo in English (by Akseli Gallen-Kallela, 1896). Yes, the Sampo is golden pizzas in this "AU", because obviously! And the pike jaw kantele is April's video camera.

Happy Holidays everyone, and now a production of the Nutcracker with Splinter as the Rat King and the turtles being supportive sons. Can't believe I did this in one night, woof! Nutcracker holds a special place in my heart, so when I get to have fun with it, I will take the chance to do so!

I never liked the Punk Frogs in TMNT. I have nothing against them. If you love them, that's awesome! I just personally don't.

Guess my feelings for them is indifference. I don't get mad, upset or even excited if they are in a version of TMNT. It doesn't ruin or improve my enjoyment for each TMNT version. If they are in it, I don't care. If they are not in it, I also don't care. They are just not interesting to me.

like, since returning with Rise after my last memories were with Next Mutation one of the things I noticed is the teenage part seems roughly... the same? I can’t really speak on it since I’m barely scratching 03′s surface and I haven’t even gone near 12. But aside from contemporary fixtures like their cellphones, and maybe Rise!Leo dabbing.

like just very vague, almost non-descript “(american) teen culture” markers. but like. these are new york kids. 

and in my time they were new york kids from the 90s????? And they had them referencing Moonlighting???????? like Raph wouldn’t have been hard into Biggie, or Mikey wouldn’t be out on the cardboard mats with the bboys. c’man. At the very least Next Mutation had them throw a Save the Animals Rave, and honestly that’s the most 90s fucking thing they’ve done that I remember ‘til that point.

anyway, my AU is less an AU and more a “sure bad shit happened to them but they’re all alive and together, splinter’s here and so is venus, and they still play ninja pogs” retconning fluff

and they would’ve been fans of Boyz II Men (and Blackstreet and a ton of other groups from my childhood) and not a one of you can fight me about it uwu <3
