A/N: It’s time to add another one. I don’t know how common it is to get married at the town/city hall in other countries, but here it’s pretty common. It’s the cheaper option, and is often chosen by those that want to get married, but not in any religion. Some days you can sit outside of Copenhagen town hall, and just watch one couple go in after the other. That was actually how my cousin and her husband got married, and my father and my stepmother. Anyway, here you go💜

You and Donnie were the third of the turtles and their partners to get married. Having just witnessed Leo and his girlfriend become husband and wife and welcome their first child, and Raph and his girlfriend prepare for the birth of their first child, all while Mikey and his girlfriend got married, hoping soon to have a child of their own, you and Donnie decided to get married before you got pregnant.

Donnie didn’t propose to you like his brothers had proposed to to their partners. Instead the two of you spoke about it, as you laid in bed, cuddling one evening, telling each other just what you were thinking, and how badly both of you wanted to be able to call each other husband and wife. None of you felt like you could do what Raph and his girlfriend was doing at that point, and simply just call yourself husband and wife. No, you actually wanted to get married. It didn’t have to be big. It didn’t have to involve much. You just wanted something, so that you felt legitimately married.

The wedding itself was a very mild and calm affair. With Donnie holding a key to the city, the city hall pulled a few strings, allowing you and Donnie to get married in a room away from the other couples that was supposed to get married at the town hall. Just like any quick wedding at the town hall, it was very small and low effort. You hadn’t even bothered getting a white dress, deciding just to go with one in your favorite color and a few flowers. You only had very few witnesses for your wedding - Splinter and your own parents.

You and Donnie had decided to focus all your effort and attention on the celebration after the wedding itself, as you, Donnie, Splinter and your parents went to the lair together, were the rest of yours and Donnie’s families and friends were waiting for you with drinks and dinner. It wasn’t until you and Donnie entered the lair, that people stood ready, throwing rice at the two of you.

You and Donnie saw the dinner as the true celebration, and the true highlight of your wedding. It was a lot of fun with all the other wedding traditions you usually would hear about - the two of you cutting cake out together (in this cake a smaller cake Mikey and his wife had made for you), and a small dance floor for those who felt like celebrating with dance (who in this case mainly was baby Romeo, who refused to let Leo and his wife pick him up). But truly, it was just as fun and memorable as you and Donnie had wanted it to be.

ik it’s probably a classic case of extrapolating way too much but... the way raph’s character design lines up w his whole arc and role and struggles...

like the fact that he is so so so much bigger than the others. raph is big, raph is strong, raph is steady and sturdy and he can literally pick up his entire family and carry them all at once. 

and like, when raph is so big and so strong and such a reliable thing. when raph is the protector, the one calling the shots on missions, the mother hen, the first point of authority. when raph is there, overprotective, when raph (for all that his brothers poke at him not being good under pressure) always always ALWAYS comes through at the end of the day when things are serious, ALWAYS gives it everything he’s got. 

his design and his learned role/behaviors in this family are just the perfect storm of why it took up to the season finale to drive home the issue.

so much of the series carries the default energy of “raph will handle it.”

raph will hold up the ceiling above you. raph will throw himself over you and take a hit and get back up and keep fighting. raph has a power that makes him even bigger and draws more attention and makes him able to carry MORE. raph will be the substitute parent. raph will be put into the mentor role through leo’s leadership arc. 

and raph is big. he’s built to carry heavy loads. raph is strong. raph is bold and loud and always ready to try to push on. even if he doesn’t know what to do or what he’s doing, he won’t give up and we’ll all pull together and things will turn out okay.

(his room is full of teddy bears. he dipped out on a mission to try to take a picture of a pigeon carrying a slice of pizza. he’s terrified of being alone.

he’s just as much of a kid as his brothers are. he’s just as new and inexperienced with the things happening to them as his brothers are. but for him, for some reason, there’s like this double standard where that becomes a huge glaring flaw.)

idk this got very sloppy and uncoordinated. i’m very in my feelings about raph right now though.

I get so confused on whether the TMNT actually keep a sleep schedule, or if they just randomly decide to pull all nighters (all dayers if mostly nocturnal) when doing 'missions' or some form of patrol.

Because so many major points in most of the versions are in the dead of night and they get back to the lair at sunrise, then you have times where in the same series, the Turtles are awake in the middle of the day acting like they don't spend lots of nights awake.

This is at least part of why I can easily picture April, and Casey being surprised to find the Turtles sleeping in weird places. Meanwhile Splinter is just used to this, and will just put blankets over his children.

And it's at least part of why the idea that some of the Turtles have insomnia or a caffeine problem is such an easy headcanon to accept.

Okay.

I have not seen ROTTMNT yet, but I've picked up some stuff from just floating around the fandom. Something I've learned, which is discussed in this post here, is that Rise Leo is generally considered - and considers himself the 'Face Man' of the team. (GIFs below are swiped from the linked post by @risestarkiss - I couldn't find them in tumblr's gif search function...)

Anyway. This is interesting to me because I am, for my sins, also a fan of The A-Team.

(I promise this is going somewhere! If you want to find out where I'm going with this, I'll put the rest of the post under a cut because it got a little long...)

For those of you unfamiliar with The A-Team, it's a (very silly) 80s TV series about a group of Vietnam War veterans who are on the run from the government after being convicted of a crime they didn't commit. The four of them spend their lives in hiding, making a living by using their combat skills to help people in need.

Here they are:

Left: Colonel John 'Hannibal' Smith, leader of the team, brains of the outfit and most likely to have become an evil mastermind in an alternate timeline.

Right: Sergeant B.A. Baracus. Nicknamed 'Bad Attitude' due to his lack of patience for bullshit, B.A. is the resident tough guy but also an absolute teddy bear of a man, and is always ready to help people, especially children and the elderly.

Left: Captain H.M. 'Howling Mad' Murdock is the team's pilot and can fly just about anything. As his nickname suggests, he's considered a bit eccentric and is a silly kind of guy. (He's also a permanent resident of a psychiatric hospital but let's not get into that right now.)

Right: Lieutenant Templeton Peck. His role in the team is to provide them with whatever they need, whether that be vehicles, weapons, tools or access to places. He usually achieves this using his charm and wit, gaining him the nickname 'Face Man.'

Okay, so bearing these descriptions in mind, look at Leo's dialogue in this GIF:

I'm assuming that Donnie is the brainy guy, Raph is the smashy guy, and Mikey is the 'eats peanut butter with his fingers guy'. And Leo is the Face Man. That's his role.

But these descriptions fit the members of The A-Team too. Hannibal is the brainy guy, B.A. is the smashy guy, Murdock is the guy who absolutely eats peanut butter with his fingers (while maintaining unbroken eye contact throughout). And then there's Face.

How is this in any way relevant?

Well.

It just so happens that someone else is a fan of The A-Team...

Of course the Mirage turtles watched The A-Team! It was a popular show in the mid-80s, and you have to admit - they do have a lot in common, being four guys fighting injustice from the shadows and all... The A-Team even have a friend on the outside who helps them out - Amy Allen.

She's a reporter. Like someone else we know...

But which of the Mirage turtles in the image above is suggesting they should watch The A-Team?

According to this bio card from 1990 that coincides with the 1987 series...

... it might be Leo!

Was this intentional on the part of the Rise writers? I don't know!

Is it relevant? Probably not!

Does this tentative link between these two silly 80s series make me ridiculously happy? Yes!

Was this entire post just leading up to this? Yeah... sorry...

I like to think that the link is intentional. I've heard that Rise makes reference to other iterations of TMNT, as they all do. I would just personally love it if someone on the team wanted to draw parallels between these two series on purpose!

Anyway.

TMNT Rant Ahead: You've been warned.

I am officially going to rant for a moment. Why is it okay for girls to swoon over toxic stalker vampires, overly possessive werewolves, demons who demand their souls, angsty emo fallen angels, and a host of unhealthy nonhuman lovers, and yet I'M somehow creepy and weird for liking Ninja Turtles?

The original TMNT comics were gritty, dark, and absolutely not for children. The first movies had cursing and violence. The 2013 series had incredibly heavy themes. The Rise of the TMNT movie had actual body horror, some cursing, and I'd feel incredibly uncomfortable letting a young kid watch it.

Don't even get me started on the Michael Bay movies. We don't talk about those. Not for kids.

The argument I get is "it's creepy that you like characters from a kid's show." Bro, did you watch only the goofy 1984 show? Or have you taken literally any time to read the comics or watch any of the deeper stuff?

You may judge me for wanting Donatello to carry me away to the lair for snuggles, but is it really any unhealthier than wanting a vampire to assault you?

I know I'm a bit late to comment about this and I don't know if anyone's mentioned it but this scene feels really authentic and like the perfect mix of Rise! Splinter and 2012! Splinter.

He starts of talking in a more harsh tone like 2012! splinter would however once he sees the looks on his son's faces he has a look of realization and softens his tone, suggesting that they just play there video games and says he needs alone time. Which I think would definitely be something Rise splinter would say when he's worried and his turtles wanna do something dangerous against his orders.

And the look on the turtles faces. Especially Leo and Mikey. They all nervous and very uncomfortable at splinters tone and they all show it on their faces. But the differences in their expressions really tells you exactly how they handle being yelled at. They all clearly dislike it but raph is better at hiding it. Not even mentioning the look of horrified realization on splinters face when he sees the turtle's faces.

This also feels very much like a interaction real parents and their children could have with each other.

Sorry for the long message. It's just your take on TMNT is really good and is practically a blend of all my favorite iterations. You convey emotions very well, the character designs are great, and the characters seem like a blend of the best parts of every iteration. Plus the story so far has been great.

I wish you the best of luck as this comic continues, because so far it's definitely one of my favorite TMNT comic series/fan projects ever.

The turtles’ reactions are meant to show how Splinter doesn’t yell at them a lot—or at least not often anymore—which is why their faces are a mix of shock, fear, and mild confusion.

I wanted to show too that Splinter didn’t mean for his words to come out so harsh, but the subject of the Foot Clan triggered deep memories and feelings that made him yell. That’s why when he sees his sons’ faces he catches himself and realizes that this is to sensitive of a topic and goes to cool off.

A/N: I did one of these for Leo not too long ago, and thought it was about time I did one for Raph, so here you go❤��

Though you and Raphael had called each other husband and wife for years, even long before your first child was even born, you didn’t actually get married, until you had had your third and final child. Ragnar was in fact one year old, when Raph got down on one knee, and asked you to marry him.

Raph proposed to you, on a small family get away to the farm house. You were sitting on a small blanket outside in the sun, with eight year old Joan and four year old Minerva running in circles around you, while you and Raph sat with Ragnar, bouncing him lightly on your knee, causing him to laugh as loudly as his sisters. It was here that Raph got on one knee, pulling out a ring and asking you to marry him. Joan, being the only one of your children, who understood what was going on, started jumping and screaming, yelling; “mommy and daddy are getting married! Mommy and daddy are getting married!”, and of course Mini started mimicking her.

You and Raph were the last of the last of the turtles and their spouses to get married, all already having children running around their legs. Therefore you and Raph decided to have a wedding that allowed room and space for your children and their cousins. Joan, Minerva and Sunny were flower girls, with Romeo, Galileo and Marcello being flower boys, while their younger siblings watched on with their parents. You clearly remembered how Joan and Romeo bossed their siblings around, telling them how to stand, with Marcello threatening to throw the rose pedals at them, if they didn't cut it out, before they were to walk in front of you and your father down the aisle. You had found it very humorous, and would often chuckle about it whenever you and Raph talked about your wedding.

Splinter was the one sitting with Ragnar, pointing to you and Raph as Vern wed the two of you. It was here that Ragnar suddenly called out “hi mommy!” in the middle of the ceremony, causing you, Raph and everyone in attendance to laugh, while little Ragnar waved his small hands at you, asking to be picked up. In the end, you had Ragnar in your arms when you and Raph had your first kiss as official husband and wife.

in tmnt 2012, the turtles treat their mutation day as a birthday of sorts, so it would make sense if their age order was the order they were mutated in

in the backstory in rise of the turtles part 1, we see the order is leo, donnie, mikey, raph (but raph calls mikey ‘little brother’ a lot so the order could actually be leo, donnie, raph, mikey)

As much as I love that backstory, it's pretty unreliable since it's a shortened rendition of how things really went down. That, and the details changed quite a bit once Lone Rat and Cubs came along a whole four seasons later. We never get a definitive answer for their birth order, which is likely due to the logistics of turtles being born collectively in a clutch. And, again, though we saw a comic-esque recreation of their mutations, we're never actually shown the order of events. For all we know, they could've turned into mutants all at once.

Before the Rise series, it was generally agreed upon that the order was Leo, Donnie, Raph, and Mikey (or sometimes Raph then Donnie), and that still applies for the '12 series. We have very little to go off of other than the implications the writers chose to give us, so yeah, one can reasonably assume Mikey is the youngest because he is treated as and called such by his own family. Leo is often labeled the oldest simply because of his ability to bare the most responsibilities out of his brothers, as well as his sometimes more mature perspectives on whatever situations they may find themselves in.

Whether Donnie is older than Raph or vice versa, I think we can all agree they're middle children through and through lol.

Tmnt facts that are canon cause i said so:

All Leo's are sci-fi fans of varying degrees of old sci-fi series/movies

But MM!Leo thinks the old movies are old and thus has no major franchise to obsess over, he is just big into any of the more modern movies of the genre: I'm thinking Interstellar, Blade Runner, idk many more. And then he started watching Final Space and eventually got into Futurama.

But he still would think the other Leo's are old and a bit lame for enjoying old anime so much.

All the Donnie's and Leo's are the musical fans, but that doesn't mean that Raph and Mikey can't enjoy a musical too! Especially 2003!Raph who grew up watching shit like high school musical and teen beach movie with Leo and Donnie.

The 2003 boys all teamed up to sit on Mikey and tape Mikey's mouth shut cause he would dramatically and badly sing the songs otherwise.

2018 crew are hard into Hamilton of course while 2012 have a knock off version of it that flopped but Mikey loves.

2003 have a musical version of Lost Boys and Faries that could possibly be comparable with some rap songs and some emotional ballads.

Bayverse and MM have batman while 2018 have a weird mixture of some irl media and some really obvious knock offs. 2012 has Wingnut and Silber sentry as comics to replace Marvel and DC in their universe and we all know how 2003 is on superheroes.

All the Mikey's are naturally talented at drawing apart from 2012 who's skills apparently just got transferred to literally every single one of his siblings.

2012!Mikey's writing looks like chickenscratch and his drawings are chaotic in an abstract art kinda way, while 12!Leo can draw anime, 12!Karai is decent at drawing anything reallt, 12!Donnie preffers skatching items and backgrounds rather than people and 12!Raph is the one who does art the most in the fam.

The 1987 turtles are stuck in 1987 and have been since 1987. They like crossovers for the change of pace but 87!Raph and 87!Donnie very much dislike how other turtles have treated them in the past so take any and ever chance to fuck with their alternates in retaliation, feigning innocence well enough that they keep getting away with blatantly insulting their iterations to their face.

Leo is the tea drinker in the family across iterations but most of the iterations don't drink coffee - rottmnt gets into coffee wars (sans Leo and Splinter) but other than that 2007!Donnie and Bayverse!Raph are the only rabid coffee drinkers.

most of the Donnies drink energy drinks if they want a caffeine boost - the nonbinaries and their Monster especially.

The MM kids aren't allowed coffee because Splinter read a watched of child-raising YouTube videos and banned it. Of course that doesn't stop them from sneaking out. MM!Donnie is trying to convince him to allow coffee while MM!Raph just sneaks in his energy drinks.

2003!Casey was convinced the turtles were adults for at LEAST the first month into their friendship.

The ampunt Mikey wears stickers is directly proportional to the amount of leeway Splinter gives him - with the used-to-be-human Splinters being more strict on not personalising his weapon while the used-to-be-rat Splinters such as MM gives the go ahead.

The outlines of this rule are 03!Splinter and 18!Splinter of course who have entirely different ways of handling their adhd child.

And then there is bayverse!Splinter who said fuck the stickers, yes of course my 15-year-old children can have tattoos.

(And yes I firmly believe they were 15 in the first movie, and I attribute their tattoos to Splinter not really seeing the harm in it, or caring much as long as it won't hurt them.)

18!Leo is biologically the eldest but no one knows this apart from Draxum who will never tell at this point. Splinter aged them based on size.

On the other hand, 03!Leo is the biological youngest but only Donnie knows this (science shit to find it out) and will never tell anyone because he found out that 03!Mikey hatched first and that information can never be allowed to get to the turtle in question.

2012 Casey is transfem but doesn't know it yet and 2018 Casey is what 12!Casey will look like at 20.

All Donnie's watch anime and all Mikey's watch horror movies - despite how much they may or may not scream at the horror movies.

07!Mikey sells art online and 07!Leo becomes a language tutor in their 20's. Ironic as 12!Raph attempts to sell art online but becomes too emotionally attached to his work and 12!Donnie attempts to tutor for a time but is a terrible teacher.

Leo is a basketball or baseball fan, Raph likes wrestling and basketball, Donnie will partake in basketball or volleyball and Mikey prefers dancing but is open to playing anything... just not watching.

Splinter always watched the tennis, becuase his grandmother did. Leo likes to put it on but doesn't like playing it.

Mikey will forever be confused why the others enjoy watching sport. This stemms from when he was 12 and trying to watch his cartoons and Splinter would always take control of the TV during the Olympics. Mikey is still very salty and has an agenda against the Olympics and any other big sports match on their communal TV.

All the Leo's before 2012 just didnt use the Internet or any electronics as a kid and thus struggles with electronics massively.

Conversely 2012 and 2018 Leo were both on tumblr as kids and read fanfic about Space Heros and Jupiter Jim respectively.

And in addition: Donnie was on the Internet far too much as a kid.

(12!Donnie will never tell but 12!Mikey befriending Chris Bradford on Facebook hit a bit too close to home.)

After Don, Raph is the best at mechanics, other than 18!Raph who is kinda shit at them.

Splinter taught all of the turtles first aid but Raph and Mikey are patched up the most by the other two, which leads to the other two being more confident and skilled at first aid.

Leo's first aid experience is very much similar to an army medic, using improvisation based on his prior knowledge without any of the proper hospital procedure while Donnie's is much more based on his research into medicine and thus much more clinical.

The outliers are the 18!kids cause Donnie finds biological shit kinda disgusting unless he HAS to do it.

And then there is the 87!turtles who don't really get hurt for longer than an episode's run time. Despite this every single one of them are able to accurately and skillfully carry out any medical procedure should the need arise becuase cartoon logic and convenience. It is a skill they have and its usually 87!Donnie ordering them about while 87!Raph plays nurse.

Mikey and Raph spray paint together sometimes in all iterations other than 87.

87!Mikey and 87!Leo have never kmowingly committed a crime.

Mikey looks up to Leo most out of his siblings, and Leo would look up to Mikey in turn if he could get over the jealousy towards his youngest brother.

There is not a single itteration where Leo doesn't sometimes kinda wish he could be more like Mikey - he has never voiced these feelings and hates that he feels this jealousy.

If you wake Leo up from sleeping he will be alert, a bit grumpy about it, but will never turn you away. He rarely gets a full good night's sleep anyways, ans becuase of this he is prime target to bother when he is awake... up until they turn 14 where Leo gets into the habit of pretending to be asleep so Mikey doesn't bother him and starts meditating until he falls asleep.

The prior headcannon excludes rottmnt and mutant mayhem.

Mikey starts bothering Donnie more and joins him in the lab late at night a lot.

If you dare to disturb Raph's beauty sleep you will get a pillow to the face and a shouting to at the least.

Everyone of the turtles loves Kung Fu Panda or whatever similar movie exists in their world. They won't admit it but its because Poe reminds them of Mikey.

Raph maintains that he doesn't like physical contact much to get out of hugging the sweaty humans in his life. He is actually fairly chill with hugs he just hates the feeling of sweat on his scales so much, and learnt that the hard way when Casey brought him in for a hug after a fight and he shoved him off and blustered a bit. But any of his siblings hugging him is fine, he only ever shoves them off out of annoyance.

Donnie is the least huggy turtle, but he will sometimes lean his full body weight on April - which is fine in most iterations but some cannot handle the weight, I'm looking at Bayverse.

If Mikey were a human he would be a borderline nudist when home and everyone who lived with him would complain about it.

Like [insert hair covering here] and a fluffy dressing gown from when he was 9 wrapped around the waist if you're lucky.

I excitedly invite you to info dump about your TMNT iteration! If there’s anything you want to share, I’d love to know more!!

I WILL DO SO GLADLY. This will be a bit of a lengthy one but let’s do thiiiiiiisssssss

Let’s start with

Splinter

The main overarching concept of this iteration is that Splinter is a villainous guy who raised the turtles accordingly. In a manner similar to 2018’s Draxum, Splinter has a great distaste for humans and sees them as a genuine threat to the yokai. As a rat yokai himself who’s had several bad experiences with humans and has uncovered disturbing mystic prophecies, he has concluded that the only way to protect his kind is to destroy humanity (or at least bring them under his control).

Due to a series of various circumstances, Splinter finds five mysterious turtle yokai children in a lab in the hidden city. Seeing his opportunity to raise warriors for his cause, he takes them with him and flees the hidden city. Now as a wanted criminal among the yokai and a terrifying monster among the humans, he hides out in the sewers between both worlds. As the years go by, he trains the five turtles in the art of ninjitsu and the mystic, never losing sight of his goal. The humans must be eliminated as a threat- no matter the cost.

This would be made more difficult, however, because of the brother that would never stop looking for Splinter but more on that later. Let’s go over the turtles.

Sophie

Sofonisba is the oldest turtle of the bunch. She is the model oldest sibling- protective, responsible, and trying her best to shield her little brothers from her father’s influence. The song “Surface Pressure” from Encanto would easily sum up her struggles, but she’d never want it another way. She’s the strong one, physically and emotionally. While being the literal muscle of the group, she’s also the family therapist that anyone can go to when they need someone. Not that she’s very good with that sort of thing, she’s really not. But she does know how to listen to them. Sophie knows who she is for her family, but is that who she really is? Is there anything outside of this version of her? Now that she really considers it, what are her likes? Her dislikes? Does she even have any hobbies? Who even is she?

Raph

Raphael is the second oldest turtle and the one who’s received the most of his father’s punishments. Raph was a very defiant, argumentative, and loud child, traits that Splinter saw as things to be corrected out of him. After many years, Raph did change. He could be more of his old self when alone with his siblings, but most times he tried to be a blank slate- obedient, passive, quiet. Sometimes the mask would slip and he would be punished swiftly. Sometimes the mask would be so much that he couldn’t remember what it was like without it. Something he comes to realize, though, is that he doesn’t feel nothing. He feels angry. Very very angry. And sooner than later all of his anger will have no where else to go and Raphael will reach a breaking point. But who will he take down with him when he explodes?

Donnie

Donatello, unlike Raph, had always been a quiet boy. He had kept to himself, complied to orders, didn’t complain. He had never minded the training anyway; it gave him something consistent to do, and he was a sucker for a good routine. But then it went on and wasn’t as good. Splinter had become more volatile and would turn his anger on Donnie. Donnie found it nearly impossible to find his words in these moments (which wasn’t great when his father was demanding him to speak). The training got more difficult, the days dragged on, and things began to weigh on him. He simply couldn’t find anything to care about. That is until his twin Mikey suggested something very risky. A secret way to access the internet without father finding out? It was dangerous… but too intriguing for Donnie to pass up (especially if it was for his twin). This was the first time in years Donnie had been this excited about something. He just really hoped their secret would last.

Mikey

Michelangelo was the turtle who resembled his name sake the most. Quite the creative and the only fun one (according to him), Mikey was always getting into mischief aimed at his siblings. If he could convince Dee let him borrow some smoke bombs, even better! But Mikey had a problem. Whenever they would go on missions to the surface, he would always be intrigued by the humans. He had even made secretive contact with some of them (tho he kept it all stealthy so they didn’t know he was a yokai). He especially liked his human cousins, even though he wasn’t supposed to. But he couldn’t hang around with them, they were evil! But maybe, he thought, if he could interact with them on the internet, he wouldn’t feel the need to hang out with them irl. It was a perfect plan. Once Donnie had set them up, he was all over the place. He even met this human girl April who lived in the city above them- how convenient! Mikey didn’t know what to do though; she seemed so nice! But father said that all humans were evil, and he couldn’t go against father. He didn’t know what to do.

Leo

Leonardo, the youngest child, has always been his father’s favorite. Maybe it was his naturally affinity with the katana or their shared dedication and drive, but Leo was always favored by him. That didn’t mean that he had it easy, not by a long a shot. Father was strict with him, but it was for his improvement. Any little misstep can cause the biggest failure and Leo would not be a failure. It was a little difficult sometimes, being under the most scrutiny and having his father’s heaviest expectations. But Leo knew it would all work out. He would be his father’s weapon and help him to defeat the humans. His siblings didn’t understand this greater purpose all of the time. They complained more than Leo, and got distracted with more menial things, but it was okay. His father told him not to tell the others, but Leo had the potential to fulfill the prophecy to destroy the humans. He couldn’t wait. He had times where his father would get upset with him, justifiable at that, but Leo knew that if he could fulfill this prophecy, his father would truly be proud of him. And he would do anything to make this happen-no matter the cost.

April

April was struggling. Her family had moved her a few years ago and she still hadn’t made any friends. None besides her little dog Apollo at least. Sure she was friendly with people, but no one really seemed to get her. It probably didn’t help that social situations made her want to explode and she avoided them like the plague, but nah that’s probably unrelated. She’d much rather spend her time writing her novel, or more realistically, thinking about writing her novel. But it had been three years. Get it together, April! Sure the thought of small talk and making the right amount of eye contact and being an interesting person made her nauseous, but it was important. She really missed having close friends and she was not gonna let this fear stop her! Maybe just delay her a teensy bit. Since talking to people in her real life hadn’t worked out so far, maybe online would be better? It couldn’t hurt to try, right?

Now for the more important relationship dynamics

-Sophie and Raph are quite close. They vibe very well, enjoy training together, and have similar problems that they occasionally disclose with each other (but only a little bc they both hate being vulnerable)

-Mikey and Donnie are close as well. Their twinsieness brings them together and they enjoy causing mischief and having secrets. They’re definitely the two most rebellious in the family, while both being quite smart about it.

-Leo idolizes Solinter and believes he can do no wrong. This will cause some… issues in the future

-Raph is quite resentful of Leo, who is everything Raph tries and fails to be. Raph just wanted his dad’s approval and it tears him up to see his brother getting it.

-Donnie, Mikey, and April are best friends. Donnie and Mikey hype her up and help her out, while April is a bit of a mom friend to them. They’re not used to having someone like that (outside of Soph) but they love her very much.

Saki

Oh and then there’s the man who’s filled to the brim with regret- Splinter’s twin brother Saki. Saki blames himself for what Splinter has become and has dedicated his life to trying to stop Splinter from further ruining his own. He works with the yokai government to try to track him down but it doesn’t avail to much. He and his two kids try to intervene whenever they intersect with splinter and the turtles, but they have yet to get through to them. The blame is eating Saki alive and he can’t do anything about it.
