hey mountain goats tumblr!

i'll be going to 3 mountain goats shows this tour (8/2 in millersville pa, 8/3 in philadelphia pa, and 8/4 in vienna va) and i will be handing out patches!!! these ones (in many varying colors each) will be available, plus two new designs that i haven't gotten the chance to print yet.

look for me if you're interested in one! i'll have a black denim patch jacket and (hopefully by then) a buzzcut. super excited to hang out and hand out patches!

Oh yeah it's been a year. This is fine.

Pleased to see Mr. Catalyst on the top artists - if bandcamp factored in he would have more time but probably not enough to unseat the goats, tbh.

And I immediately latched onto The Future is a Foreign Land and started learning to play it while listening to it on repeat, which accounts for probably 75% of those plays.

Kinda surprised to see Mary on a Cross there and so high because I wouldn't put it in my top 10 songs, but I do like the continuity between the two songs so I played them a lot side by side on my main Ghost playlist.

we switch perspectives like a spliced tape. we get to know characters and to care about them, but we never get to say goodbye, because you don't get to say goodbye, do you?

there is a mystery to be teased out and unravelled but that isn't the point. we don't get to know everything Lisa did, although we might understand why. instead, we're Abby and James and their parents. wave, and then carry on down the road. maybe take a few pictures, to remember things by.
