Trauma is only ever really portrayed in horror books. ILITW, ILB, BB, even NB to an extent all portray trauma in a relatively realistic and consistent manner.
Noah in MTFL was nearly murdered by a policeman yet still readily goes on a vacation with the man who sent the police after him in the first place.
The Endless Summer gang have experienced countless atrocities. Their families and friends all burned alive in lava. Quinn went into a coma and nearly died. Raj, Grace, and Diego were taken hostage by the Vaanti. The group was hunted down and nearly killed by the Arachnid. So much happened to them that justâŚdidnât traumatize them at all, apparently.
I honestly think Rileyâs situation is the most ridiculous though, and Iâve posted about it before. She was assaulted by a known murderer who escaped and was on the loose in the palace, which then forced her into labor in the middle of a ball full of nobles and royalty alike. She was then stuck in labor for HOURS without ANY medical attention or an epidural, and then suffered from eclampsia which literally could have killed her. And then when the doctor finally got there, she had to give birth after hours of pain and high blood pressure STILL without any form of pain relief. And then (presumably after dealing with the afterbirth, which isnât actually shown in the story) after she nearly DIED, she learns that her newborn infantâs future has just been signed away to save her life. And somehow she justâŚgoes about her merry way without any trauma or complications or whatever.
Pixelberry probably didnât portray any lasting trauma or complications because society doesnât like talking about trauma surrounding birth and pregnancy. In the eyes of society, birth is always a beautiful, joyous miracle where all the bad, unhappy, icky stuff goes away once the baby is born. Because actually being realistic and informing people with uteri of all the trauma and complications they can face might force them intoâŚ*gasp* making an informed decision about deciding to have a child and how theyâll do it!
My biggest criticism with choices is that they have this mc go through something super traumatic and then they move on so fast!
How did Riley from the royal heir not have postpartum or any postpartum complications? She almost died giving birth!
Mc in open heart watched people and her friend almost die and she almost died and she had one chapter to deal with it and then moved on!
Like whereâs the time to deal with a traumatic incident, instead everyoneâs like oh no thatâs so sad.. anyway!
#sorry that was a rant#anyway yes op#tldr I agree with everything#tw: birth#tw: birth trauma#tw: pregnancy#tw: pregnancy mention

People on this website will be like "you can't handle the moral nuance of Madoka Magica! Not everything is black and white" and then claim everyone criticizing Homura's actions thinks she's a terrible person in the same sentence
#homura akemi#madoka magica#vent post#i put big ole disclaimers and sprinkle throughout that i dont think she's a bad person and i still get#âso you think homura's a terrible person and heres why your wrongâ essays if i so much as say#homura undermining madoka and every magical girl's autonomy at the end of rebellion is a dick move#because heres the thing: you can love someone and have the best of intentions for them and still hurt them if you act without listening#homura love madoka and wants her to be happy but she spent dozens of timelines being the only one who could save madoka#and its gonna take her awhile to accept the new reality and that madoka has power and agency now#also saw someone earlier saying Madoka is deeply depressed and suicidal and that everything she says is a front and like???#did we watch the same series???#because thats certainly what homura believes but we're repeatedly shown homura being wrong about things#ex: she thinks madoka is alone but we know she has deputies#she thinks no one remembers madoka but sayaka remembers the whole story once she's a deputy#the series repeatedly shows us why madoka wants to live#i would agree that madoka has a hard time finding value in herself outside of being of service to others at the beginning of the series#i don't think thats true by the end#god forbid a gal is just genuinely altruistic#but tldr: i think homura loves madoka and wants her to thrive but she is not listening to madoka and undermining her autonomy

how many times do we gotta go over it man. thought crime isn't real. it's okay to feel whatever you're feeling. don't let anyone make you feel guilty for having some reflex reaction to stimuli in a way that is out of your control. the question isn't what you think or how you feel, but what you do. do you act upon those thoughts? do you harm others bc of your feelings? that's where you draw the line. keep it in your brain. vent it out in some personal way like a journal or a password locked blog. it's okay i promise
#saw a post abt sex repulsion that i mostly agreed with#until op said being disgusted by like. other people having sex is wrong#and like. i agree that if this is your knee jerk reaction you might need to look into it#but sometimes. it really is just disgust of the idea. like it's none of my business but i still find it unpleasant to see or think about#and as someone who feels guilty constantly abt everything. this is actually smth i don't feel guilty over#bc it's just an emotion and like i can't really help it. but also. I'm not hurting anyone by cringing on the inside#i don't think guilting people for feeling a negative emotion is gonna make them unlearn it i think you're just gonna make them feel awful -#- over a very normal human experience (aka. emotions). all this would lead to is ppl hating themselves for smth they can't help#it's not that deep i just got very mad at that phrasing lol esp bc it was aimed at teenagers#a group that is way more vulnerable to this sort of shit in part due to already experiencing emotions more intensely#tldr: don't do that shit man. encourage positive behavior not thought policing

sorry im just thinking about bcs but like. why not add a few smaller scenes of gus interacting with his own men? why does it seem like, in comparison, mike is almost immediately elevated to a higher status than those two in bcs purely because we actually get to see him having normal conversations with gus? like i understand they might not keep the plot moving as well because of the fact obviously if victor is currently doing something itâs because gus told him to etc. but for the most part all of the smaller interactions gus does have with those two ends up being in a somewhat high stress situation where it feels very tense between everyone. and itâs just like damn! is it always like that?? why do those two even care that much about their jobs if their boss is a bit of a dick? etc. i think even an additional scene or two with those guys (either alone or the both of them) talking with gus in a more normal situation couldâve both added a bit more depth into how gus treats his employees (we got a lot with how he treats lyle and co., but not a whole lot with the illegal side of things), how comfortable vic and tyrus feel around him in a calmer setting, and exactly why they both feel the need to be as loyal as they are to the guy.
and also on the other side of this i don't think it'd hurt to maybe elaborate on their pay just a bit..? i'm not saying to randomly put a number out into the atmosphere but i just mean some smaller things like. do they buy nicer things for themselves? what's their housing situation? what's their car situation? are the escalade / yukon their own vehicles or does gus just use those two for business situations? do they use them when they're doing their own stuff off the clock or do they have their own cars? etc. that can also help with understanding their motivations a bit. don't get me wrong i don't think they should be visibly rich or something because that's not what gus would want but just smaller things! cause it's easy to write their loyalty off as Well they probably get paid super well, which i'm sure is true, but if they don't show a single hint of that then what's the point. even something as simple as giving tyrus a nice watch, or maybe victor having a nicer looking gun, etc. something small like that. because as it stands right now the average 41 year old viewer who watched the show once only knows and will only ever know victor and tyrus as those two guys in the background who do random stuff for gus with no clear motivation. just the personification of "On it boss (salute emoji)". and to be honest this is true for a whole lot of fans who do watch the show multiple times and enjoy thinking about it more in depth, because on screen we barely have anything about the two.
and to be clear i'm not trying to say we should have an episode just for them or something like no i understand they're side characters. i understand we don't need all that. and i understand this is also primarily Jimmy's show. but it's not like these two are on the same level as like, arlo or paige and kevin etc. these guys have been around since brba. victor was literally introduced in the same episode gus was. and they are a huge part of gus's story, especially in brba. s4 wouldn't have been what it was without victor and tyrus. and in bcs, ignacio's situation wouldn't have been the same if it weren't for victor and tyrus as well. and i just personally believe that if their goal with gus in bcs was to go back and elaborate on how everything came to be and show what he was like a few years younger, they could've dragged victor and tyrus into that. and i think his character would've benefited from taking that extra step with those two.
#gray.txt#and you know. obviously i personally have my own clear ideas of everything. and i'm content with what i got. this isn't coming from a place#of Well victor is my favorite guy so everything should be about him LOL. i know what he is.#but thats only because i spent like what? 2 years now watching random interviews and analyzing the smallest details within the show that#genuinely meant nothing while they were writing the scripts. and then throwing some random ideas at the wall to see if they stick.#and i just dont think everybody should have to do that LOL. and i think gus's character gets a lot more interesting#when do you do have this clear idea of victor and tyrus in your head and how he interacts with them. but 99% of people dont have that!#nobody fucking knows everything giancarlo and vince ever said about box cutter. nobody knows about the interview where giancarlo referred t#his entire business (meth and restaurant) as his 'family'. and they'd never think of that in those terms#because with the exception of his restaurant workers and mike#it feels like he HATES them LMAO.#tldr all i'm saying is i think we could've benefited from at least one 1 minute long scene of victor and gus exchanging words#where it doesn't end in gus snapping the phone in half out of anger. and also let tyrus speak his mind and have gus agree with him once#also yeah sorry this is all over the place but it is somehow the most coherent i have felt in months so this is as good as its getting sorr#sorry .#also to be clear about my earlier statement thatâs a lie my idea of those two is not clear in my head whatsoever i just meant in comparison#to literally the average viewer. and my own personal thoughts about them arenât even true itâs just opinions and guesses.#and i love a character that i can just say shit about but at the same time i think itâs fun to have idk something in the source material#that you can actually use while thinking and not have to dig around 11 year old reddit AMAs#and that money paragraph sort of came out of order what i meant by saying all that is like#i feel those two could benefit from a clear motivation for why they do all the things they do#and if we have neither personal reasons nor monetary reasons then it just makes them feel like one dimensional henchmen or something#came out of no where* not order you dumb fuck (< me)#also it doesnât have to be clear in our faces or anything whatever you know what iâm saying . this is too long i canât keep elaborating

maybe a weird question but ive been wondering this for a while and i kinda wanna hear ur opinion, would u still consider it hetbending if i headcanon natsume as a trans man and tsmg as a trans woman and ship them like this? cuz those are my hcs and sometimes i wonder if its like problematic?? Like id get it if ppl didnt agree with my headcanons thats just differing opinions of course, and thats fine, but im scared bc i dont wanna like, turn gay ships straight and stuff? Either way i hc both of them as bi, but still :( im worried im doing something bad fhfhgjdh sry if this makes u uncomfortable to answer?? I just wanna hear opinions abt this? I truly dont wanna hurt anyone!!
waaa ur fine no worries!! i dont mind answering questions like these at all!!
i guess its sorta nuanced? i suppose by definition it would be considered hetbending, esp if one has an altered appearance to suit the assigned gender. but then theres also the headcanon aspect of it. since it is a headcanon that would make these genders be how you view the characters in their source, rather than altering them for ur own silly amusement
since these things are so nuanced i personally tend to tackle it from a portrayal point of view. Have i altered these characters to make one look like a man and the other a woman? if so, id say it should be tagged and considered as hetbend even if both or one party is trans and their sexualities are bisexual, because the point of tags such as "hetbend" or "genderbend" are so people who dont wish to see their favorite characters altered in these ways dont have to see it. these tags are used out of courtesy! Now, if you've taken the characters and headcanon one as a man and the other a woman but there have been no altercations and they look the exact same except for some pronouns and maybe some clothes change then id say it doesnt need the hetbend tag, as clothes do not have a gender and you can go by whichever pronouns you want while being a gender that said pronouns arent commonly applied to
Basically; if the appearances are altered it should be tagged accordingly out of care and consideration for those who dont wish to see that sort of thing for whatever reason. i dont get why people act like theres some morality thing at stake for tagging things like genderbend? trans or cis, the character looks different now which may be upsetting to some, so tag it!!! we're all just here to have fun!!!!
i also want to say enjoying or creating "hetbends" does not make you a bad person nor are you erasing queer rep, especially if you are keeping their queerness!! the original characters will remain the same no matter how much we may alter their gender and appearances in our niche circles, and there will always be a VAST majority of people representing the canon, so really theres no need to worry about wishing to indulge in the things that make you happy. none of us wish to hurt people with what we create!! and that is the REASON its tagged accordingly to begin with. So again; if you feel you have altered the characters to a point where some may be uncomfortable PLEASE tag it. and if there are things that make YOU uncomfortable PLEASE MUTE IT!! we tag things FOR YOU!!!!
#went on a bit of a tangent SORRY i just hate it when i see obvious femstars art and its not tagged properly#i also dont like the argument some femstarries make where its like âwhy do ppl cw tag femstars ?? do women scare u ???â#BC WHILE I DO AGREE THERES A FUCK TON OF MISOGYNY IN THIS FANDOM#AND THAT ALOT OF THE TIME IT GENUINELY IS JUST PPL WHO HATE WOMEN COMPLAINING ABT THIS STUFF#there is also the people who get genuinely upset over this sort of content#be it because that character resonates with them deeply so they dont want to see them altered#or because theyre simply in it for the source material and dont wish to see a basically entirely new cast#and it should still be tagged for these people!!#even if its trans!! even if its cis!!!!#please look out for one another!!!!!#the amount of times ive seen people not tag femstars/genderbend bc âoh its transâ upsets me#we dont TAG to let people know whats in their pants#we tag so people who dont want to see potentially upsetting things dont need to see it#does this make sense#idk. i just get annoyed with how everything turns into some act of morality in this fandom#even when your actions are done FOR them#TLDR JUST TAG ACCORDINGLY AKSDHFKUAJHSDG#ask

HONESTLY I'm already so sick of our society generally treating platonic relationships as less important/meaningful as romantic or sexual ones, but to me and many others (whether in the ace or aro community or NOT) the relationships we have with our families and close friends and non-romantic partnerships can hold just as much emotional weight as any usual romantic one, or sometimes can feel even deeper imo!! I hope people can get more used to such a simple concept someday
Signed, an affectionate aroace incredibly happy in a QPR with my beloved @rubinaitoart đ
#TLDR i completely agree with everything in this post#I generally love the platonic-positive community on Tumblr it's pretty neato#queerplatonic#qpr#platonic love

Hi! This may be a bit of a rant but there is something I really wanna share with someone so I hope you don't mind.
I have a friend who I knew 'cause we were in the same club at uni. He's very eloquent and smart, so I really respect him (but mostly from afar 'cause I was shy lol). And then I saw him post about ST season 4, and about Will in particular so I mustered up my courage and messaged him "hey have u seen the parallels between Will and Vecna?". And we started talking about other ST-related stuff. We even ranted a lot about vol 2 after watching that lol. We also talked about books and TV shows and overall, I was glad ST helped me make more friends.
When the free Palestine movement became popular last year, I was not surprised when I saw him post about Gaza or Rafah 'cause well... he's just like a typical queer, chronically online, twitter user lol (both complimentary and derogatory, sometimes I find his humor funny, sometimes I just wanna roll my eyes). We have never talked about this topic and honestly I really don't feel like. I just simply carry on sharing posts and stories about discrimination against Jewish and Israeli people and anti-Hamas stuff.
And then recently I saw him posting overtly anti-Israel things, like "u think this is hot now, wait til you go to hell for supporting Israel". Not gonna lie, I chuckled when I saw that 'cause first of all, I am an atheist so whatever man I don't believe in hell anyway. Second, I don't know what other non-Jewish people who support Israel (as in 'its existence is legitimate and the people there deserve peace', not the government itself) may feel about hell, but as far as I'm concerned, Jewish people don't seem to put that much weight on the concept of hell and heaven, right?. So like "bro you should have choose something else more menacing than that lol"
Now I can scroll through that post but what irks me the most is what he chose to share today.
https://x.com/redstreamnet/status/1841561550378651724
I find it so freaking ironic how after everything that has happened in Iran recently (and how many Iranians have spoken out against the Islamic republic), this is the first Iran-related thing he posted about. Like I'm so close to just forward to him a video of Iranians celebrating the death of Nasrallah or comments/posts of Iranians thanking Israel for it, or overall just people between these two countries wishing each other peace and freedom. I'm not sure if I can call what I'm feeling "anger" 'cause it's not exactly strong as when I see people deny October 7. But there is surely a sense of resignation.
I don't see those pro-pal people as bad or evil. I actually believe that most of them have good intentions, but to me, they are too caught up in their self-righteousness and black-and-white views to acknowledge the grey area of this whole mess.
I saw you own up to your own hypocrisy a few days ago and ngl I admire you for that lol. I only think of humans as "paradoxical by nature" so a person saying conflicting stuff is normal to me. But it's annoying as hell when someone doesn't think they are capable of hypocrisy or double standards.
Anyways, have a great day. Thank you for reading all this. Sorry it's kinda long. Being concise is not my strong suit lol.
hey anon, letâs hug. if you want?
i rly donât have much to offer bc my brain is currently mush, you probably just wanted to vent and thatâs ok. i just didnât want to leave you on read. đ
look, iâm using jquinn even though he annoys me atm but i just couldnât resist, lmao. like yeah, #me.
#beth answers#i hear you and everything#also your friend. ask yourself if youâre happy with him. whatever that means. it sounds like youâre willing to agree to disagree but#he may not?? like some people just canât compromise on some issues and thatâs ok. but tbh the whole geopolitics in the middle east is#complex and has a very long history. itâs not as clear cut as saying israel is a product of western imperalism or white supremacy#nor is every arab country having similar values/democracies. even islamic terror orgs donât always align#like consider the situation with that woman who was kidnapped by the isis and she was being held in gaza even though isis and hamas arenât#exactly allies. and people suggest gaza is some sort of criminal outpost in the middle east#which could be true to an extent but itâs important to recognise itâs not fair on the civilians. even if they share hamasâ values bc of#their upbringing. but we gotta be careful bc we canât steer towards racism of low expectations bc arabs are very capable and intelligent#like itâs obvious to me hamas are seen as noble savages but referred to as freedom fighters. i just think itâs important to be balanced#people can say israel is a safe haven for paedos and sex offenders which is bullshit and based in antisemitism (thanks jeffery epistein)#in every community there are bad people and they shouldnât be held as the standard. which should be applied to ~bad orgs/states too#itâs just not easy! even geopolitics experts struggle. otherwise weâd have world peace but lmao#hey looks like i managed to say something after all#umm tldr you know your friend but you know yourself too and itâs important to have boundaries#but not to let something get in the way especially if it doesnât concern either of you personally in the grand scheme of things#if that makes sense. like iâm not gonna ditch a friend if they think the moon landing is fake#unless they make it their whole personality and it gets in the way of our relationship#so you know. go with your gut. look at the big picture but details are important too#which i recognise is a privileged position to have and possibly ignorant#but i have to consider myself and the people i love. then my community and the place i live. then the country#then everything else. even though i want to help with things out of my control but i also feel like i shouldnât have to feel like this?#like iâm not someone who signed up for this. ppl who have should be able to do so to the best of their abilities. iâm just not that person#ok iâll shut now lmao mwah#sorry this is late btw

Back @ it again w/ the "angry about how people discuss the blood brothers" but in a diff way this time!!!!!!!!
#evil neighing compilation#people. dont particularly seem 2 get that theyre not a constantly spiteful band w/ zero message 2 put put there it feels like#even though. this is blatant. like very blatant. if you think 4 more than a minute or two about their music you realize that they r a very#politically charged band. theyre imagery-heavy and kinda hard 2 parse. but they do have genuine intent behind all of their weirdness!!!#and even then. we can agree stuff like peacock skeleton with crooked feathers is very blatant lol#crimes as a record is very political lol#i will say this stuff IS sorta applicable 2 like. their Very early stuff like everything b4 march on electric children#keyword is sorta. keyword is b4 march on electric children. march on electric children is hard 2 parse and highly satirical#but its intent is genuine. its not just weird shit happening. its commentary on how the entertainment industry exploits people through being#a concept album and stuff#hhhhhhh you probs already get my point so ill end my vaguely annoyed rambling here#tldr the way a lot of media talked about the blood bros was fucking evilllll tbqh. 4 a lot of reasons but the way a lot of them sorta just.#flatten their music in2 one thing only. it can be one thing @ times#it has aspects of that one thing#its not *purely* the one thing. tbb's music is hard 2 sum up in some catchy vaguely homophobic line in a music review loool#okay actually done rambling

we all agree that the push towards short form, vertical video (tiktok/reels/shorts) is ruining fucking everything right? Tiktok has been useful for the dissemination of political information (e.g Gaza) iâll give it that, but that feels moreso a result of meta and twitters algorithms being just a little *more*âevil and censor happy. And i want to make it very clear that my hatred for tiktok has nothing to do with the fact that it was a product of a Chinese company, because i see a lot of critiques relying on some sort of sinophobic conspiracy. On the contrary, itâs what tiktok has become in the vacuum of western popular culture and marketing that makes me fearful.
I know that every generation faces a new, polarizing technology and inevitably, there are those among said generation who will critique it. That is the nature of things. However, there is also something to be said about how, with the acceleration ďżźof technology (running parallel to the acceleration of capitalism, acceleration towards collapse etc), each coming generation faces an increasingly more malevolent âadvancementâ. TLDR, iâm going to talk my shit.
Iâm going to speak on the aspect that is most relavent to me, as a musician. I am petrified by what short form video is doing to music and to musicians. I think that tiktok provides the illusion of making music and being a musician more âaccessibleâ while actually pouring gasoline on the fire that the pop music machine had already started. Standards for what popular culture âexpectsâ from music are being doubled and tripled. Letâs talk about song length. Success and marketability favoring shorter songs is not something new, it has been the trend for decades. But with short form video, it goes even further. Youâre not just hearing the same song over and over on the radio, youâre hearing the same 15-30 seconds of the same song over and over again. This in-turn, starts to influence the way people write music, persuading people to make songs that *could* have that 15 second appeal. There is an art to pop music, there is an art to writing a catchy hookâthis is something else. We werenât meant to hear or understand music like that. There are so many songs from reels that i found annoying, until i heard them in their full context. Itâs insidious. It makes everything feel like a fucking commercial, even if nothing is being advertised.
Iâm going to pull directly from someone elseâs experiences, someone whoâs music seems to be everywhere on short form videos. The ambient musician My Head Is Empty has a hundred million streams on the song âi was only temporaryâ. Despite that exposure, they experience ânever ending copywrite issuesâ and have âreceived death threatsâ by people who refuse to credit them when using their song. Pulling a quote here, from a comment on their own post
âvyva_melinkolya unfortunately it just gets worse. i saw a bot content page that steals pod cast footage and spams dozens of videos with my song stolen, comment on a "motivation" spam content , who actually made a post telling people the name of my song, and the previous page i mentioned, the pod cast spam commented on that video saying "Bro stop don't give out the sauce. this audio helps me pull numbers brooo" - so people are actively INTENTIONALLY stealing it and telling people to not credit me. like. u can't make this stuff upâ
Beyond this, My Head Is Empty feels frustrated that despite all this exposure, the rest of their work (nine albums) as a musician remains under appreciated, and i think that frustration is 100% valid. People cannot fully appreciate music, or even understand it as a work of art created by another human, when itâs taken so far out of its context. Again, the soul being sucked out of art by âthe machineâ isnât anything new but, this is a whole other level. Being a musician is more expensive than ever, streaming earns you fractions of a cent etc, it all feeds into itself.
When a song or a musician i love deeply finds its way on to tiktok (letâs use Dusterâs âStars Will Fallâ, one of my favorite songs ever as an example)I am not upset that i cant âgatekeepâ it anymore. Iâm not upset by the idea of something I love and hold dearly finding a larger audience. I AM upset in the manner in which it is being disseminated. Iâm upset with art I hold dear to me being chopped up and used as âtrending audioâ. When I saw Duster in concert recently, lStars Will Fallâ was the song I was most looking forward to hearing. It was the last song they played, and it was the song seemly everyone chose to talk loudly over. The audience was mostly people my age and younger. This complaint might come off as petty or pretentious or cliche, i frankly do not give a shit.
Letâs talk about how musicians are expected to promote music on tiktok/reels. This is a matter of opinion, at the risk of sounding very pretentious: the âPOV we are x band from xâ âMy label says i need x followers before xâ âposting this video until c musician notices meâ. I understand that some of it is in jest but, what the fuck? When did this become the norm? I do not blame anyone for promoting their music like this, but we should want more for ourselves. Iâve always said being a musician is deeply embarassing, inherently. If being a musician is inherently embarassing then what is this? I dont have a solution for this, and the music industry has always been ugly and bloodthirsty and seldom fruitfulâ but i feel like the very small amount of dignity we had as artists is now lost and I cant fucking stand it. Artists seem to promote the same single with dozens of reels over the course of months, hoping that something sticks. I dont want to sound like iâm shaming or, again, sound like i can provide a solution. Iâm just very fucking sorry that it seems like this is âthe wayâ. And personally, iâm scared that if i dont âget with the programâ, im going to fail.
Again, all of this speaks to larger trends in entertainment industry and even larger trends in capitalism. But iâm just airing specifics right now because frankly? I cant take it anymore.

An advertising company that's faced or facing multiple anti-trust lawsuits and has lost multiples of themâincluding being fined collectively over âŹ10 billion for violating EU laws, has been sabotaging its websites performances on alternative browsers to "encourage" people to use its browser instead, will collect and store your data even in incognito mode, partnered with a healthcare system to collect and store people's health records and promised it was safe and secure and wasn't shared or visible to anyone else but never notified patients of it or let them opt out of it.
An advertising company that has been pushing SEO (Search Engine Optimization) which has ruined search engines because bots and large companies can devote the time and resources to adding and constantly adding/changing these invisible keywords, has removed or dramatically lessened the ability for people to be specific or granular in their searches, sells advertisement space so you can be a "sponsored" link on search pages that looks nearly identical to the actual search results.
An advertising company who has done nothing about malicious actors buying ad space in search results to get people to install malware or who hijack browsers to the same effect even though this has known (and reported) for years.
An advertising company that let slip they alter the search results in the background so they get more money out of it. They do not inform users about this.
An advertising company that created and is pushing for Manifest V3 that will not only limit or prevent you from blocking ads on Chrome but it reduces the ability for add-ons to protect your data or give you privacy... if the add-ons are even allowed on Chrome anymore. And MV3 will be the default on Chrome when it's rolled out.
An advertising company that is notorious for killing off projects that it gets bored of or doesn't make enough money (not unprofitable, just doesn't make as much money as they want... ignore they make hundreds of billions in revenue and could have absolutely kept most of these projects going infinitely)
An advertising that bought Youtube (which has its own host of issues and the algorithm tries to push people to right-wing content) and recently got in a slap fight with an ad-blocker because it tried to block Youtube on browsers that had an ad-blocker installed and tried to push people to buy Youtube Premium to get around this even though people with Premium still got warnings about using an ad-blocker. Oh and increased the price of Premium after doing this and having people sign up.
An advertising company that not only lets generative AI art be in its image search results but pushes those results higher thanks to SEO.
And so, so much more. Like how it's sold data to cops for racial profiling facial recognition or how it's helping Isreal to commit genocide by using (and training) its military AI.
You don't have to switch to Firefox but you should ditch Chrome and Chromium-based browsers and switch from Google to another search engine (personally I use DuckDuckGo). Google/Alphabet is a sketchy AF company that is infamous for collecting user data, falls foul of EU laws regularly, and has so many conflicts of interests but can get away with it by being a monopoly.
Though I don't recommend Brave. It has built-in crypto and was co-founded by a former Mozilla employee (who is CEO of Brave now) who chose to leave because he (and the company) faced internal and external backlash due to his donating to the Republican Party and being homophobic. He also believes in covid conspiracy theories, which you can find throughout his Twitter.
The most popular browsers in different countries in 2012 and 2022.

#chrome also eats up a ton of resources but i have to wonder just how many given people talk about having 100s of tabs open#and never ever closing chrome down#there are add-ons they let you port your open tabs from chrome to firefox btw#also the only reason firefox is going to allow mv3 is for the cross-browser compatibility#though even then iirc they're going to gut what they can out of it because they don't agree with google#but if they don't adopt it it will silo them#so rock and hard place and it's google forcing mv3 on everyone just because they can#there's also how google skims and collects info for the search result blurbs#so the writers who wrote the stuff that got skimmed don't get paid/websites can't track how active a page is#there's absolutely issues with other tech/internet monopolies but this post is about google#also it's thanks to google that videos/streamers have to censor themselves to the nth degree#because otherwise it's harder for google to sell advertising spots and their primary business is selling ads/advertising spots#also it's thanks to google we have jokes about having to watch ads on an emergency first aid video#because they keep upping the ads in videos to sell more ad space (thus make more money)#and seo means text-based searches on first aid are unreliable#so it's either watch ads or deal with bot llm copy-pasted articles#not just for first aid but for everything and anything#i want to say they also quietly got rid of the ability to only pull results from a specific website#so you can't even ':reddit' anymore to only get results from them#it may weigh those results more heavily but you still have to deal with bot articles#and there's no way to pull from older forums/personal websites unless you know the exact name#because they have little to no seo (since they predate it) so you need an exact name or url to find them#tldr fuck google they ruined the internet and are taking your data if you know it or not

Alright I told myself I wouldn't interact with fandom when s2 came out, and I haven't and don't plan to except to say this about people deciding Caitlyn is the Worst or that the writing is OOC.
As someone who has had a family member violently killed, I cannot stress how much it shakes up everything you thought you were and stood for. My beliefs in proportionate compassionate justice and the rights of all human beings are some of the strongest I have (stronger now because of the way that experience affected me personally), but they were pushed to the absolute limit when it came to an individual who had killed my loved one, showed no remorse, and laughed in our faces outside court, among other things.
People generally like to believe it wouldn't be them or their peace-loving family members being talked down from seriously considering violent revenge, consequences be damned. People like to believe they wouldn't lash out at people closest to them under that pressure, that they wouldn't build walls around the kindest and most sensitive parts of themselves because those parts are the ones feeling pain you never thought possible, that they wouldn't stalk the killer, make notes on all their family and friends, and fuck up their hands punching walls in anger wishing so badly it was flesh and bone because they can't handle the fact that there's no way to turn back time to stop it all from happening. People like to think they're "better" than that. But the reality is messy and painful as hell.
With Caitlyn, she has the added guilt of having actually had the opportunity to stop Jinx before she fired the rocket, but she hesitated just long enough for it to result in the deaths of her mother and other councillors and in the cities being plunged into chaos. Not only that, but the person close to her she's lashing out at is the person who caused her to hesitate, and just so happens to be the sister of the killer.
Furthermore, her behaviour is entirely in character. We have seen her set up as someone who becomes obsessed with achieving a goal and will do pretty much anything she wants to get there. In S1, we agreed with her methods because her goal was exposing and taking down Silco, and because it led to Vi being released. In S2, she's doing a similar thing but it's fuelled by fear and a type of pain she doesn't know how to deal with, rather than being fuelled by a need to prove herself and solve a case, and it leads to her making morally questionable decisions and to hurting Vi. She admits herself, albeit privately to Vi, that she does not know what she's doing and doesn't know how to fill this hole in her chest (and the hole in the city leadership). She has been sheltered from the real world for almost all her life, and as a result she has no experience of functioning or making decisions under this kind of pressure. The real world blew up in her face in the worst way and she was given power and a loaded rifle, and then shoved into an even more elevated position by a very experienced warlord who is manipulating the shit out of the whole situation.
I'm not saying that you have free rein to hurt people when you're grieving and facing extreme stress. (If you think that's what I'm saying then idk I'm not sure there's much hope for you in terms of critical thinking skills). What I'm saying is that Caitlyn is exhibiting pretty normal human behaviour that most people would be susceptible to in those circumstances, not the behaviour of someone who is some kind of heartless abusive bastard.
TLDR: Caitlyn is being written in a way that completely makes sense and is also not OOC, and if someone told me there would be no chance of them reacting in similar ways I simply would not believe them.
#needed to get this off my chest#I just dont know why people watch media with complex characters and messages if they aren't prepared to think about it all critically#like that's literally what makes it engaging#okay I'll return to my hole now#arcane#arcane s2#arcane s2 spoilers#arcane spoilers#caitlyn kiramman#cw grief#cw family death#cw murder

"ducky"
tldr: all the way joshua uses your nickname a/n: i like this one (â¸â¸ŕš ĚŤ ŕšâ¸â¸â¸)
whispers: when heâs trying to gossipÂ
âduckyâ you barely hear him over the music inside the venue, party in full swing around you. you are watching the dance floor, amused by watching your friends act like fools, but you can never ignore him; so you turn around to face him, confused as to why heâs speaking so softly in such a loud place. when your eyes meet, he smiles at you, full of love. only when you raise an eyebrow does he remember why he came up to you in the first place.Â
âheâs is sleeping with her best friend. i just found out.â he continues to whisper, despite the music being almost deafening. your eyes widen to saucers, unbelieving that he actually got confirmation of a rumor that had been floating around about some friend of a friendâs sleazy boyfriend. youâre about to ask how he found out whenâ
âin fact: he's sleeping with her roommate too.â your mouth gapes, this was not something youâd heard before. You can always count on him to tell you the good tea. when people told him not to tell anyone, it never included you. he told you everything. âwhat do you think about that, ducky?â
shouts in the mic: across an empty stadiumÂ
âeverybody, welcome to the stage: ducky!â the venue was empty of any carat, thank god. you only wanted to visit him at the venue before caratland the next day, knowing this would be your only opportunity to be up on the stage with him. heâd been asking you to come by so he could show you what it felt like. he wanted to show you the lights and let you experience this part of his life.Â
âdonât be shy now, you were excited about this!â he teased, without the mic, when you reached him on the large stage. your eyes widened when you looked out over the stadium. the sheer number of seats was so intimidating, and to think of the seats filled with bodies was incomprehensible.Â
âhere, hold the mic.â he passed you the white, bedazzled mic. it was heavier than you expected. you could see your arm getting tired holding this thing to your mouth for too long. you looked over at him, unsure of what to do next. he raised a brow at you, gesturing for you to, âsing something for me, ducky.â
echoes: just to see you blush
âducky, ducky, ducky!â he was so happy to see you walk through the door of seungcheolâs apartment. they had all been waiting for you to start the movie queued up on the screen, at his insistence. you loved movie night with his fellow 95s and he knew youâd like the movie theyâd picked to watch.Â
âhow was your day, ducky?â he got up from the couch to greet you properly, overusing the cute petname just to see you flush, knowing it made you embarrassed around his members. he lived to tease you, to see your coloring change, and the little crease between your eyebrows appears. he loves it.Â
âoh, ducky, i hope it was good.â he wraps his arms around you in a hug, clinging tightly. he hated being apart from you, even if it was just for your shift at work. movie night was always something he looked forward to, all his favorite people in one place. he leans to whisper in your ear, âiâm so happy to see you, ducky.â
garbles: after too many shots
âduckyâ he slurs, the music in the bar so loud you can barely hear him. youâre chatting with mingyu, but you feel him tug on your shirt sleeve. you excuse yourself from your conversation and turn to see him, eyes droopy and a dopey smile on his face. youâd been apart for about 20 minutes and you knew heâd come back to you all gooey and lovey.Â
âcome home with me. iâll call the car.â he was glued to your side, arm around your waist, head buried in your neck. you couldâve stayed out a little longer but he wanted to leave and he was being so sweet, how could you tell him no? agreeing to leave and go home with him, his face lit up. he whipped his phone out of his pocket.
âwill you order the car? i donât think i can see straight.â he held his phone out to you, confident you could do this for him. his only focus in this moment was getting even closer to you he looked like he was about to fall asleep, eyes closed, head on your shoulder. he turned his head, pressing s gentle kiss to your shoulder, âthank you, ducky.â
sing-songs: when he gets home
âducky~â he called out to you, knowing his voice would carry through the apartment. and sure enough, moments later he heard your quick steps across the floors, hurrying your way to him. he took a moment to pry his shoes off, not wanting to track any dirt inside. he was so preoccupied, he didnât notice your steps had stopped. standing up from his bent position, he jumped slightly, finally seeing you, a smile stretching across his face after the initial scare.
âi missed you.â he reaches out to you, wanting to hold you in his arms after a few weeks apart. he loved his job, but leaving you behind was like a knife in the heart every time. this tour was fun but he longed for you the entire time he was gone. he held back some tears as he stood with you in the entryway to your apartment, rocking gently back and forth.Â
âi am so happy to be home with you.â you could tell he meant it, hear the emotion in his voice. he rocks you a little longer and holds you a little tighter, not wanting the moment to end, to be separated again. you respond in kind, tightening your arms around his waist, burring your face deeper into his chest. ânext time youâre coming with me, ducky.âÂ

The main reason I think Goncharov worked better as a piece of mass produced fiction over Zepotha really does come down to the basic concepts of each piece. Goncharov had a concrete idea from the start, it was a lost 1973 mafia film directed by Martin Scorsese. Meaning that people new to the joke could more easily understand how to add to the story. Martin Scorsese has an unique style to his films, he has directed multiple mafia/crime dramas that people could pull from to create a cohesive story that sounds plausible for him to have made. People were able to come up with characters (and the actors who played them) and an actual plot by just studying the genre and finding what would work. Zepotha is just marketing a single artist's work under the idea of "an 80's horror film", no director, no actual genre other than "horror" (what kind of horror? Slasher seems to be the most popular, but Zepotha sounds more like a giallo style supernatural horror to me). There's no director listed, so no one knows how this film would play out or look. Because horror is such a vague descriptor here, people are throwing just about everything to the wall to see what sticks, which slows down the actual storytelling potential. People are making up characters first, before a plot leading to there being like 50 named characters, but any actual story is lost. Tldr; Goncharov found it's footing much easier and faster by starting out with a concrete idea, while Zepotha is stumbling because it's vagueness makes it hard for anyone to agree on basic things like story or characters.
#goncharov#zepotha#tiktok as a platform makes collaborative work very difficult#so i'm not surprised zepotha is having a hard time finding it's footing#meanwhile tumblr is the 'yes and' of websites#tiktok#tumblr#just my two cents on this whole thing

I think Seawatt in parkour civilization is really interesting. I mean immediately with the fabricated memories that already says something about his character. I understand fabricating a memory for the sake of not leaving a gap, but why that specific one? Why make some mass delirium that they all were friends with him? It makes me wonder just how lonely he was. How hard it must have been to be the only to remember how the world had betrayed who he was. Maybe the idea that people cared about him, even if it was all fabricated, felt like a comfort to him.
I also don't think he ever agreed with the parkour villain or the evil champion. He just wanted someone who shared the disdain he had for the people who took away his home. But those people never cared to listen to him. Or take him seriously. He was a tool to them, a disposable one. Evbo on the other hand, despite their differences, listened to Seawatt. Not only this, he watched Evbo choose friendship over everything. Because of how critically different Evbo was to the other people in Seawatt's life, how could he not enjoy the time they had?
tldr: Seawatt is lonely and used too often like a tool due to the vulnerability of losing his home and being the only one to remember in parkour civilization. This lead him to enjoy the change of pace working with Evbo gave him.

Same bruh
The game is really fun and all and the story is great (plus you can kind of make up your own story a little bit because you can play as everyone)
But the way the allies have these same Yellow Green Blue colors like
It makes them feel like less than themselves
Like I'm kinda possessing them, rather than freeing them from the dark heart's possession
Not that I don't get it. When it's multiplayer these very strong colors help differentiate between different players
But it's not necessary in single player at all. Except for maybe accessibility reasons but I can't think of a way that would make it more accessible to certain players
I think that it should be an option in the settings that you can turn on or off. Like "Apply YGB to multiplayer" or something idk
people say kirby star allies is the worst kirby game and well generally I donât have reputable opinions what what a good game is or isnât but playing it with my sibling i have to agree that it is kinda bad. the gameplay and story is fine and fun this isnât about the gameplay or story. what makes it bad is i can finally play as waddle doo which normally would make this the best kirby game ever actually becuase waddle doo is my favorite kirby guy of all time. itâs made bad because he is the wrong color. they make him fucking yellow like heâs king doo and i canât stand it. other nitpicks is because im bad at video games it makes it really easy for me to accidentally run into a thing make my waddle doo into a different character that makes me have drastically less fun because Iâm not playing as waddle doo and there arenât many chances for me to change my guy back into waddle doo so sometimes I have to go whole levels as Not waddle doo. also i wish his antenna stuck out from his hat
