Maybe I reading this wrong but this popped into my head on a reread: Does Leo like fighting his family not only to feel their ninpo but also because fighting is the only way he has had physical contact in the last five years? If it is that just makes every fight scene all the more angst filled, not that they needed help in that particular aspect. Thank you so much for writing an amazing story.

ed thinks he’s unloveable - has thought so since long before he met stede - but he was still brave enough to confess that stede makes him happy, to take a chance on a kiss. like, i cannot stress how terrified he must have been, must have been waiting for the other shoe to drop but hoping it wouldn’t. that is the most courageous thing ed could have done considering the depth of his contempt for himself. he must have felt so utterly safe with stede and also so besotted that it made him take the risk. then he waited all night until the sun rose on the ever-dwindling chance stede would still show. he had so much love and happiness and hope that maybe he was wrong, maybe he is worthy of love, of stede’s love. and then stede never came, and ed must have felt all of that self-loathing increase tenfold with humiliation to boot. stede’s apparent rejection made an already present wound triple in size, and once izzy landed the final blows, it completely engulfed him and he self-destructed.

Because we know about Nick's mum from reading the book b4, there's a lot of hints and little bits in there. Very fun to discover.

Felicity also gives a tour of the lodge, and somehow i had completely skipped that part in previous reads? Apparently the lodge is in marble?????? I been imagining this as some dark green carpet with dark brown walls or smthng..... Now i gotta decide whether to change my mental image or not... Urgh..
