Generally, yeah. Something about entering my house makes me instantly hate the feeling of wearing pants and bras. I almost always change instantly back into my pajamas whenever I get home. My house pants and tee shirts are essential.

jasmine: do you have a movie or book you loved but will never watch/read again?

I have... no idea. Uh... I remember really liking Fahrenheit 451 when I was forced to read it in high school, but I would not revisit it unless I was in a situation wherein it was required (like a high school class, for example, lmao.) I also really like the first F//ntastic B//asts movie but I'm a trans person and I don't want anything to do with R//wling's bullshit anymore.

taro: if someone called you right now to catch up, what’re the things you’d tell them about?

I think I would mention my new full-time job. Depending on who exactly was calling and how long it's been, I'd tell them my now name and pronouns. If they were someone I was really close to in the past, I'd probably give them a rundown on the various hyperfixations I've cycled through since we last spoke. Otherwise, I don't really think there's anything I'd mention because everything else coming to mind is either irrelevant by now or something that should probably be kept between me and my therapist or my family.

something about flowers (in vases, in fields, etc) and putting her mom in scenes, particularly into scenes that aren’t memories / weren’t scenes/scenarios she was in in life. and maybe some little mustelid guiding her through a vegetative area, though that’s probably just the reading animal books to her kids (her own and her students) more so than there being symbolism like the florals or a longing for her mom

❥ 8 — has your character ever fired a gun? if so, what was their first target?:

HIGH chance she hasn’t unless like. her school district required teachers to take a safety course or something that included understanding guns, right down to understanding their build and how they shoot. but it’s way more likely that her college boyfriend, kaleb, is into hunting and had her shoot if she ever politely came along on a trip (and made a mental note that she doesn’t like guns nor hunting)

❥ 34 — is your character more likely to keep trying a solution/method that didn't work the first time, or immediately move on to a different solution/method?:

a mix of both; she’s stubborn so she’ll keep at it for a minute but. she’s also a kindergarten / first grade teacher, she knows they have to accept defeat sooner or later for a fail solution and so does she. but funny enough her kids (again, her own and her students) do tend to make her look to solutions she didn’t think of before since kids are ingenious in that way, with not thinking about logic in the way adults do

And when Raiden came to visit, he’s immediately wary of Mavado and carefully confronts him verbally while also trying not to get provoked by Mavado’s taunts. I also love the potential reversed influence, of Raiden’s stubbornness pulling out questions of why a man would willingly join this life, tugging humanity out of Mavado, who a part of something evil for decades. I have two siblings and a brother-in-law, technically. We're not super close, one sister and brother-in-law I only really talk to at holidays, the other sister and I text sometimes but not very often. They're both older than me, ten and five years older, and they were always pretty close with each other compared to me. I think that's a youngest sibling thing, but they've always felt pretty different from me, too.

mahonia ⇢ what place, thing, activity inspires you most and how do you express yourself when it does?

As far as creative expression, it would definitely be writing. Always felt like it was the thing I was best at and felt most comfortable doing, even if something in particular I was working on didn't meet my (impossibly high) standards. I love fiction, and analyzing other media I enjoy has become something I'm fascinated with picking apart (hence all the meta), but if I had to pick what I'm best at, I feel like it's poetry. I don't share it as much around here, just because I try to get it published.

chamomile ⇢ what kind of things do you like receiving as gifts?

Art, words. Little doodles on sticky notes, letters on old crinkled paper. Little things picked up here and there that don't necessarily mean anything to anyone else but were "I saw this and thought of you" items. "This reminded me of an inside joke you and I have." Candles that smell like a memory, comfort items with the idea of "this makes me feel cozy, I hope it makes you feel cozy too."

she Doesn't have any siblings, since her parents split before they could have had another but. super close to mama dina, of course. and pretty close with dina's parents, they're all pretty tight-knit together. considering giving dina a younger brother who everyone, including nadia, isn't super close to

i feel like she does but. she just doesn't have many opportunities to. yeah, she has friends at school and probably online (no matter where i shift the timeline) but like. none of them feel compelling enough to write a letter letter to (no offense to them) especially when the people she'd probably want to write to she sees every day (dina) or often Enough (her grandparents). though she probably wouldn't be opposed to a penpal if she had the opportunity
