Hey kids, just in case no one listening is Internet Literate I want to give the biggest pieces of advice. Take it from someone who ACTUALLY grew up with the Internet. I remember the Olden Days.
1) theirs people who make Hate their entire personality. They exist to tear things and people down. Don’t try to reason with them, don’t argue. It’s what they want
2) on that same note their was a Sacred Phrase that many have forgotten and I will recite it all to you now “Don’t Feed the Trolls” Trolls are used in a much more charming way these days but trust me the OG Troll is someone who exists to make others miserable. They feed on hate, sadness and conflict. Theirs no beating a Troll. To attempt it is to feed them.
3) don’t get attached to your beliefs or opinions. You’re more than that. Learn that what you believe isn’t as important to everyone else as it is to you. If you find like minded people that’s great, but don’t surround yourself with exclusively those people.
4) remember the Internet is a place to escape. It’s not real life and it should never be real life. Leave your grievances at the door and relax. Your stress only feeds Internet Algorithms and they’ll pump more stress your way. Don’t hunt for the things that stress you out, don’t engage with it even if it’s your gut instinct you’ll thank me for it.

Im..... That statement is so ableist I cannot even imagine the worldview you'd need to have in order to come up with that.
They really think the only way anyone learns anything is through verbal-speaking-words-noises? No one has ever observed something before? Not even once?
This is beyond touching grass, this person just fell out of the fucking Jurassic Period when all they had was ferns and stegosaurs.
I just...
OH YES. I remember my first day of Society Lessons as a hearing person, where the everything was explained to me. Via Audiobook. FIRST they spoke and said, "you are standing on the ground." It was a life changing revelation, and the world began to spin.
But it did not stop.
THEN they said, "there are fingers on your hands." The sensation of flesh and bone crackling into existence is indescribable, but I did not yet know pain, until they told me, "that hurts." I began screaming immediately.
And yet... it continued.
They explained so much. Chairs. Tables. Walls. The sky. Frogs. Ionizing radiation. Breathing. I was told all of it, in one sitting, and only then did I understand. Only when my ears were bursting with normal hearing knowledges, did they begin... my final test.
A strange wall-chair-finger emerged from the sky-of-the-wall, stood on the ground several times, until it was in front of me. A second one came behind it, this one slimmer. The audiobook gave these things names;
Human. Father. Mother. Door. Walking. It was completely impossible to know what these things were until that very moment.
I watch a human dip a hook into water and produce a fish, and I recall my Society Lessons where they called that "fishing." I am decked in the face by a nefarious hooligan, and I have only the audiobook to thank when I know I have been "punched" by a "bad guy." It was only the magic of verbal-speaking-words-noise that made me understand that there are "other people" and that they "do stuff."
Sometimes, even, in "groups."
Before the Society Lessons Audiobook, I knew nothing. I was pure, innocent, uncorrupted by concepts such as "parents" and "door." I am grateful every day that there is no such concept as "being shown things" or "simple logical reasoning" or "looking."
Blessed be those amongst us who escape the horrors of the Society Lessons Audiobook. I pray that you never learn what anything is. Be free! Free as a bird, which also knows nothing and famously cannot learn. 🤗
DEAF/HOH FOLLOWERS I'm losing my mind do you want me to bump a 'Hearing Disabilities Herb Guide' to the top of my priorities? Something you can use to bludgeon whackadoodles like that. This is ridiculous
Obviously not a MEDICINE guide but like; common causes of hearing disability in clan cats. Accommodations for hearing loss vs congenital deafness. Actual difficulties of not having that sense Clan-by-Clan. Debunking of misconceptions like... not being able to learn APPARENTLY.

Checklist:
• A bottle of water, at least 1 liter. Your brain works better if it has enough water and drinking helps you to concentrate.
• Your charger. You sometimes don't even notice that your device's battery is going down, so better have it plugged in all the time.
• Your headphones. You will be able to focus more with headphones because it blocks background noises. Also, if it's a late-night study session, you won't wake up anyone.
• a tea or coffee. Coffee keeps you awake, and green or black tea can make you feel more awake as well.
• Your study/work stuff: your laptop/tablet/phone, a few pens, paper, or whatever you need.
•Anything else you could need, what about a heating pad, a blanket, a good lamp, or your pet so you have a study buddy.
Reminder: After an hour, you should stand up and walk a bit around. Better stop the music or put on different music for the break. Open your window, even if it's cold outside. Fresh air will make it better, trust me. You could also lay your head down on your desk for ten minutes and listen to a podcast. Or, if you have to read a book, listen to the audiobook of it. You can also listen to the audiobook while doing another thing, that's even better than listening to music while reading the book.

Remember to take care of yourself and try to get some sleep tonight.

my dramatic ass pacing circles in the kitchen like im never writing anything ever again bc nothing feels great anymore it just feels good and apparently i will not apply myself even to my most longterm and beloved passion if i can't feel prodigious at it. fym ur gonna stop trying altogether ur also gonna get ur period in the next few days but im sure there's no correlation
#trying to write and rereading it like the pacing is off the characterisation is stale the dialogue is blocky#and i can't get the concept down the way i want so im perpetually stuck in that 'on the tip of your tongue' feeling#and i cant read things to pass the time not even fics bc im too busy psychoanalysing every single sentence#trying to find some hidden thing that makes this writing better than mine how can this writer get it when i just cant what's wrong with me#and it's all so GODDAMN FRUSTRATING. but aside that im being really calm about it <3#i can't remember the last time i wrote something and felt genuinely proud of it. i always get very intense long periods of writer's block#and i know i'll come out the other end bc i'll find a new obsession and write 20k words of my best work in one night#and feel like i snorted three lines off a toilet seat in berghain. but also What If This Time Im Just Broken#hi im a girl in my twenties who never learnt from my own behaviour!

It really is so funny when I get blood work done for my doctor from an outside clinic or testing facility, they put huge flags on my results that are "holy shit please don't freak out but you seem to have too low testosterone and too high estrogen, here are a couple things that could cause this, here are some tips to help restore balance, but ultimately please do not freak out PLEASE" since my file hasn't been updated to "female". but yeah man, I sure hope that's how my levels would be trending after many months. I imagine once I do I'll get the opposite flags while I'm still taking the pills, if they would change the "sex" on file that is

I feel like some more realistic positive affirmations would be "Actually, everyone doesn't hate you" and "The entirety of the walmart is not hyperfocused on your awkward encounter right now" and "You are not an evil capitalist for buying something for yourself" and "You can talk about your interests without apologizing for it, actually". I kind of want to know what the fuck kind of fight went on while I was sitting on that one couch as a kid, because in flashbacks it's like, always that one couch, but I have no memory of what was actually happening just the frozen feeling and emotions.
I mean. I'm guessing actually if it was bad enough to become like. the go-to flashback, it maybe isn't something I want to remember, but I still would LIKE to.
