The demons I didn’t use would be younger or lower ranking slayers. Hantengu was previously the Rumble Hashira but is retired and has severe PTSD and anxiety, Urogi is working on developing Sound Breathing along with Nakime, and Zohakuten has only just passed Final Selection with his Serpent Breathing. They’re all brothers except for Hantengu who is their grandfather. Daki is Water Breathing I think but overall she’s a weak-ass slayer. Rui is Gyutaro’s tsuguko and Enmu is a Kakushi and he’s like totally delusional.

Instead of the Butterfly Mansion being the hospital, it’s Akaza’s Cloud Estate.

Genya is still a slayer and he’s sworn that he will kill Sanemi as both revenge for their family, whom Sanemi killed, as well as to just put Sanemi out of his misery. He also helps out at the Cloud Estate a lot, since Akaza doesn’t like getting help from people and takes on way too much at once.

Nezuko is a slayer and carries around a lil tiny demon Zenitsu on her back. Her brother, Tanjiro, was turned into a demon and he is very rapidly rising through the ranks of Moons. Nezuko is desperate to find a way to turn Tanjiro back and is helped by her friends Aoi and Murata.

Inosuke is a demon too, but he’s super isolated and very protective of his mountain territory.

Also Kyojuro was once a slayer himself but ended up becoming a demon. Not sure how yet. But there aren’t any flame breathers bc he became a demon before he could pass it on and he killed his brother and father as well.

This has been in my mind. hear me out, dmc guys x reader like shinobu from demon slayer and is the primary doctor of group.

the reader is weak and shorter so fighting is really challenging but their knowledge of medicine and poisons make up for that. theyre primarily a healer but despite their weakness they still fight just with their own little twist. theyre also calm and patient but will hold silent grudges and will rage in private. if you look close enough you can see the tiny string holding up their patience and sanity.

reader probably did a lot of experiments to see what poisons would work on demons and what wouldnt. reader still tries new things till this day but its really dangerous and often times they get too caught up in their experiments that they almost get killed or severely injured.

maybe the reader uses a special weapon made by nico. its a hand gun with special bullet infused with poison. or a light melee weapon thats coated i poison just like shinobu's sword.

they can be really caring and gentle while treating patients but will sometimes think:

“how the hell do you even get into this much trouble what kind of tomfoolery is this?”

same energy as “MY STUDENTS ARE ALL MORONS”

but at the end of the day they still care for everyone

¤ Dante ¤

-Dante admires your compassion and expertise when it comes to treating the injured.

-Since you're not at peak physical condition, you use a gun that Nico made specifically for you, though Dante did try to give you a sword he stole from a demon. You couldnt wield it because it was too heavy.

-He helps gather ingredients for you to make new poisons and often tags along while you test them, just to make sure you're safe.

-Despite his attempts to protect you, you still insist on going alone and often end up badly injured. While Dante isn't one to scold, you can bet he'll be sitting you through some talks once you get better.

-While you can be very gentle and sweet, there are times when you're just about as angry as Nero, if not worse.

-During these times, Dante stays well away from you, because the last thing he wants is a tiny, but painful fist to the face.

■ Vergil ■

-Vergil sought to protect you because you're such a small, vulnerable little thing that he fears will get hurt.

-He a sword (not sure where) and insisted you carry it with you wherever you go.

-He's not too interested in your poisons, but when you say you want to go out and test them, he's suddenly up in arms, ready to defend you.

-On the off chance you wander away somewhere and get hurt, Vergil will promptly rescue you, then lecture you.

-Despite how gentle and sweet you might act, there are times when the true devil within gets out--that's when everyone needs to worry, Vergil included.

-He has PSTD from the time you got pissed off over something and emptied the entire silverware drawer at his head, resulting in knives and forks stuck to the walls, and spoon shaped bruises all over his neck and face.

□ Nero □

-Nero thought you were an incredibly gifted doctor. You've saved his sorry ass from imminent death more times than he can count.

-He's only a little worried about your opposite capabilities, because while you are intelligent and talented, you're not the best when it comes to combat.

-At least your poisons and sword make things easier; Nero only wishes you didn't have to go out into the woods to test them so often.

-He knows you'll get mad if he tries to come along, so he does the honorable thing and stalks you. This leads to some unexpected rescues when times are bleak.

-However, though you are often a gentle lady, there are times when your sweetness just snaps clean in half.

-Nero isn't all that concerned about your explosive temper, because he has one too, and just resigns to the corner while you rage on.

● V ●

-V loves that you're such a talented and creative doctor.

-He could really use a healer in his life since he isn't doing all that well physically, and having someone to patch him up or at least look him over would be a blessing.

-He insists on going with you to test your poisons, and even if you try to refuse, he will tag along anyway.

-You are a skilled fighter with your special sword and tons of poisons, but sometimes all the beasts are too much for you, and you fall injured. It is then V's responsibility to nurse you back to health as best he can.

-V doesn't fear you or your hot temper. Yes, it can be startling to watch you suddenly burst into screechiness, but you're not exactly harmless.

-If anything, V admires you for pushing through and coming up with new ideas, as well as continuing to press on despite your shortcomings.

“dumb as fuck!” his voice was harsh. maybe more than usual. “the fuck is wrong with you?! you’re completely out of your mind!” you were used to sanemi reacting like this, so it didn’t exactly hurt you hearing him talking like that.

“i was trying to help!” you explained, stopping the bleeding with a clothe. it wasn’t too bad, consider to most injuries it was a simple scratch, if you know what i mean. “i’m a hashira! i don’t need help, i can handle myself!” he spat at you, his gaze hard. “i know you’re stronger than me, thank you for the reminder! but you didn’t noticed there was another demon so maybe you did in fact needed help,” you tried to reason with him, your eyes focused on your wounds.

sanemi nervously walked back and forth in front of you, visibly stressed. the kakushi were taking longer or maybe he was unusually impatient.

“i’ve been killing those monsters since i was a kid, i was fine on my own,” he crossed his arms and sighed loudly, still going. “oh right, lemme get you a special medal for your service, mister! i forgot we’re talking about the killing machine of the demon slayer corps!” you were sarcastic at this point, you had enough of his snappy personality for now. he was being exaggerated.

you two eliminated all the demons nearby, you simply jumped in to help him while he was fighting the stronger one and that’s how he was repaying you. dipshit.

“i’m not in the mood, y/n. cut that shit,” he sent you a glare, visibly angry. as always. “you’re not in the mood? i save your ass, you thank me saying that i should have minded my damn business because you can handle yourself and you’re the one not in the mood to talk?!”

you got up, wanting to get away from him. his eyes were on you, ignoring your words completely. “you’re injured, sit back down,” he warned you, his tone was still the same. “fuck you,” you snapped and went sitting away from him, hoping the kakushi would get there soon.

shinobu just finished stitching up your wounds, cleaning them and providing you with some medicines. she checked sanemi too, but he was fine. she could feel the tension between you two but didn’t push herself in. you thanked her and watched her leave before lying down in your bed, sighing.

sanemi was still there, staring at you. you could feel his eyes burning onto your back and it was starting to fuelling your anger towards him for the way he treated you.

“sanemi, i swear i’m not—”

“i’m sorry for the way i treated you.”

you two spoke at the same time. you turned around and glanced at him, surprised.

“i was scared alright? i saw your blood and lost my mind, you were careless because the demon you were fighting was still aiming at you, but you had to run to me and watch my back,” his tone was surprisingly calm, as if the previous anger never existed. you let him talk because you knew it was hard for him. “i can’t bear the thought of losing you.”

“nemi…” you felt bad for treating him in such manner, but part of you knew that even if his intentions were good, the way he acted was the worst ever. “i know what you think, i do the pull the same shit with genya but… i don’t know how to behave in that case.”

he slowly walked closer to your bed and sat down next to you, his hand grabbed yours and he held it tightly. the gesture was sweet even if his face still showed his hard expression. “maybe don’t treat us like shit, huh?” you tried to joke, offering him a kind smile. “mhm… i’m sorry, for real.”

you knew he was. he always felt bad whenever he acted that way. you sat up and squeezed his hand, before moving to kiss his lips. it was a quick but meaningful kiss, you both knew that. “i know you’re sorry, nemi,” you assured him and he timidly smiled at you, looking down a bit embarrassed.

“you were amazing before, you know that?” his words made you chuckle, because his praise was a way to hide his embarrassment, but it was okay. deep down, you knew sanemi thought very highly of you, not only as a lover but also a slayer.

The Taiga files

Taiga likes sweet foods. She has a record of eating over 500 chocolate bars without gaining much weight. This has to do with her high metabolism levels and muscle density.

Taiga has a hypnotizing voice. Most of the women in her family have something called "Canto delle Sirene" (Song of the Sirens). Many who are aware of the Sogno bloodline (Taiga's mother's maiden name) believe that Maria Sogno (a ghostly woman who dwells in Italy's waters) was a siren and/or succubus.

Taiga will wake up in the middle of the night just to talk to Douma. She enjoys his company and admires his strength.

Similar to Muzan, Taiga is very open about her favoritism. (But she's much nicer about it) Whenever Taiga goes to the uppermoon meetings, she rarely talks to anybody but Douma and Kokushibo.

Taiga accidentally called Kokushibo "Dad" once, she was embarrassed about it for weeks and did her best to avoid him by hiding behind Douma.

It was literally that one episode of Brooklyn 99 when Peralta calls Captain Holt "dad"

Taiga barely acknowledges Akaza, constantly getting his name wrong and looking down at him (just like Muzan is with literally anybody 💀). She's only polite to him because of how Douma considers him a "friend"

“What are you, some sort of clown? What's with the shitty tattoos and the pink hair? You look stupid.”

Taiga is the polar opposite when she sees Douma. She acts much sweeter with the blonde more than anybody else. Obviously she respects Kokushibo. (and clearly sees him as family)

“You're so amazing, Douma! Your blood art is so pretty. I wish mine was like that!”

“Too bad the others can't amount to your talent” *stares directly at Akaza with a shit-eating grin*

This obviously pisses a lot of the other moons off. (except for Koku, Nakime, and Muzan, they just tune it out like mature adults)

Taiga can only cook Italian foods, and even then she struggles with it. She can make hella good wine, though!

She often gives Douma the wine to bathe in.

Taiga's love language is giving gifts and physical affection, she loves to show how much she cares through actions. She's no good at verbal affirmations, but that won't stop her from calling a certain blonde cunt the most perfect being alive.

When Taiga refers to Douma as perfect, she isn't talking about the whole god-whisperer bullshit. She's talking about him as a person.

In a nutshell, she's down bad. Down very, very bad.

Taiga really, really likes animals. She's always been able to communicate well with many different kinds of critters, from giant grizzly bears to tiny weasels.

Taiga has often brought small rodents like possums and raccoons to the Eternal Paradise cult, much to the members dismay.

She actually kept a pet mouse named Algernon, which freaked everyone out.

When Douma was informed of this by terrified cultists, he burst out laughing. Never would he have expected Taiga to do something like that!

When Taiga first began to work undercover, she took a Demon Slayer uniform from one of Doma's midnight snacks and followed a certain checkered haori to HQ, where she crashed into a hashira meeting Die Hard style.

Tanjiro had a feeling he was being followed, but had no idea who it was. Taiga is good at hiding in plain sight, so he could only rely on his sense of smell.

She literally broke through a window and flipped her hair in the cuntiest way possible

Kagaya had no idea about Taiga working with Muzan, but the hashira (specifically Shinobu) had a bad feeling about her.

When she got there, she ended up being recognized by Kagaya, who knew her parents from back in the day. (A very long story)

Shinobu was the first one to question her, asking questions about her origins and other stuff.

Taiga simply turned to her and looked at her with the most disrespectful ass response 💀🙏

“Who gave you permission to speak to me? I don't remember asking for your opinion, you disgusting creature. Get out of my sight, you're making me ill.”

Before anything could actually happen, Kagaya the Chad spoke up.

Shinobu, much to everyone's shock, actually pulled out her sword and tried to attack the strange girl out of pure rage.

This is an ability both Muzan and Taiga have. They can manipulate human emotions with a single gaze or phrase. That's why Shinobu got so angry all of a sudden. No human is completely immune to it.

Taiga (finally) offered her "services" to Kagaya. She said she knew secrets about the uppermoons and Muzan that could aid them in the war.

He asked Taiga in literally the kindest way possible and without a trace of anger to not antagonize Shinobu. Surprisingly, Taiga listened and piped down.

Kagaya, after careful consideration, agreed.

Taiga got up, pulled a batman and left in a dramatic yet awesome way.

As she was walking back, two unimportant demon slayers had found her and tried to rob. (and potentially assault her)

Tanjiro had been going on another mission when he spotted this. He recognized Taiga's scent and tried to help her.

But he wasn't needed..

When Taiga came back to the cult, she was immediately pulled into a hug by a "worried" Douma.

Her soul left her body. All her brain could think of was "Man tiddies Man tiddies Man tiddies Man tiddies Man tiddies-"

Luckily, Douma let her go before she passed out.

Being the little shit he is, Douma pointed out her red face.

Taiga immediately replied with "it was hot outside 😃" even though it was snowing. Fucking dumbass-

Before Douma could unintentionally push her buttons some more, Nakime teleported a letter to her. It read:

"Send me all the information you gathered. I don't care how you do it, but it must be done quickly."

Muzan can't read Taiga's mind like he can with his uppermoons, he can only sense her emotions and has to guess what she's thinking. (Which pisses him off a lot)

ok- soooo… my brain thought of smth a tiny bit fucked but the i remembered this is kny and atla so it’s ok to be fucked. so, in the series water benders are like- not really in the war, but they were basically taken from the south tribe for war reasons. the angst in my brain is that the southern tribe in this au is where urokodaki would train all of this students (yes, the past dead ones are alive in this) and then the demons attacked (they’re basically the fire nation in this).

(also in this au in my take (you can see how you’d like) the demons aren’t really demons. they’re human, but they use this fucked up branch or rather a “weed” of the breath-bending that’s the equivalent of dark magic basically.)

they just took everyone with no remorse for anything, and then they found out that water’s conductive. sooooo- torture via electricity was used to make the water benders weapons of war!!! yay!!

giyuu was considered one of the best in the small tribe (i think between him, sabito, and makomo, giyuu was the one to completely master water breathing and well- survived canon). shock collars were obviously used- cause this is demons we’re talking about.

giyuu and basically all of the tribe were just abused for years (lets use giyuu’s age as a reference). the tribe was taken when giyuu was 8- the controlling and abuse didn’t stop until giyuu was 19. basically instead of him finding tanjiro, tanjiro found him.

you can only imagine how just aggressive giyuu was, a major contrast to his usual calm and stoic personality. tanjiro probably couldn’t even get close without giyuu being violent so he called for backup from the corps/friends. let’s say that sanemi and shinobu and kyojuro were sent there (sanemi was there in case of a fight.) to say that giyuu’s condition was worrying would be an understatement.

literally every single water breather was fucked- they needed the moon for spiritual healing but we’re never given the chance to see it for god knows how long, barely any food or water. kyojuro probably threw up when he saw kids in there. sanemi was just pissed about this, a whole ass tribe was ignored by the world. also don’t worry, literally no one is dead from the water tribe. but idk of that’s a good thing tbh….

it took them literally forever to get giyuu to trust them, like trying to tame a wild animal. but the simplest thing is what got literally the whole tribe to trust them, the promise of seeing the moon and sea again. tanjiro was just happy to see the southern tribe from the stories, but so sad that they were like this for 11 years. the moment they even opened the door for the tribe- it was literally like setting caged birds free. though urokodaki was the one who told the four, “thank you” and followed his students into the beach on a full moon.

also the shock collars took some time to remove, no one really sat still at all, or some stood unnervingly still. shinobu knew that it would them literal years to recover from all of that trauma, potentially a whole lifetime. kyojuro probably sobbed his sweet little heart out when he saw them so happy on the beach (emotional bitch), sanemi was still fuming, mf was READY to put an end to this war. he just imagined genya in this situation and was like “no i im not letting this slide” and proceeded to sink the entire fleet that did this to the tribe (W sanemi).

sighhhh this thought happens from remembering the episode of when katara found another water bender from the southern tribe (holy fuck i can’t remember the name) and she ended up being fucked in the head after all.

so, does that mean giyuu can be feral and deranged when he’s completely ticked off?? yes, more feral giyuu content for the starving people. he’d be so much more intense with any threat (maybe like when azula was going a bit silly) but after the threat is gone he’s just “woopsie daisies my bad yall”

they ended up taking the tribe to the corps and basically giving them a safe place to heal and relax. gyomei ended up being good friends with a lot of them because water benders are very sweet to him and the kids thought he was cool (a little scary at first). giyuu, bless his soul, was found by tengen immediately. mf knew he HAD to befriend this guy, sabito wasn’t having it tho so know there’s sabito and tengen beef.

Mona She has a few good ones, but that she only wears when she wants to really REALLY want to treat herself.

"Hey Kyo, Have you seen (F/F)?" You say, staring into the fridge as if you're going crazy. You bought your favorite food 2 days ago for yourself as a small congratulation and now you wanted it. "Oh yes, I had eaten it! It was rather tasty love!" He says, smile as bright as ever while he stares at you without blinking. You stare back. "Kyojuro, you..you know that was mine right?" You ask him, unsure if he realizes he ate YOUR favorite food. "Yes! I do understand that! I can see why you call it your favorite food!" He says brightly. You on the other hand look as if you're ready to kill him. "Thank you for the food love!" Oh yeah, now he's gonna die.

○Shinobu Kocho○

•She isn't the type to slip up, especially infront of you. But sometimes she gets mad enough that she let's her little facade fall and she starts swearing.

"Don't be mad cause you're tiny, it's okay to not have grown fully!" Uzui says in an argument as Shinobu looks like she ready to kick his ass. "Well don't be mad at me when you're six feet in the grave!" Shinobu says, a bit to cheery for your liking. Noticing this, you gently grab her by the shoulders and lead her away, saying goodbye to Uzui and taking her to the butterfly mansion to calm her down. Once there she starts muttering under her breath, "That man..Thinks he's so flamboyant and so amazing he lacks basic respect for others. I'll show that mother fucking bitch-" she stops and looks at you, eyes opened yet not filled with worry just yet. "...You didn't hear that did you?" She ask you, you did. But for your safety you shake your head no.

○Giyuu Tomioka○

•He's the silent reserved type but that doesn't mean he doesn't do stupid shit too. The stupid thing he does is that he'll try to kick rocks when hes upset, fall and then get up like nothing happend.

"I just feel like non of them like me, y'know?" Giyuu says as you guys walk around the Demon Slayer Corp grounds, you nod in support as you hold his hand. "Sometimes I wish I would speak out more!" He exclaimed, getting madder at the end and swinging the inside of his left foot full force to kick a rock. He missed, and since it was full force his leg flew in the air as he flew backwards. You on the other hand stood there in shock, you wanted to laugh but decided against it, "Tomi, are you-" you cut yourself off as he starts getting up quickly and turning towards you. "Let's keep walking." He says blankly, completey ignoring the fact that theres small pebbles and dirt now in his hair.

○Sanemi Shinazugawa○

•He's a night owl, he will stay up and sometimes go get a late night snack but beforehand he'll stare at you and goddamn is it terrifying.

It was a cold fall night, you and your lover, Sanemi, were comfortably sleeping in bed as you basked in each others warmth. (You more so than him) or at least, that's what you had thought. In reality your beloved boyfriend is currently awake and looking down at you. Lovingly of course. Sanemi is a night owl and sometimes when he wakes up he takes in your features and checks if there is anything new about you. Usually he does this until he falls back asleep, and hold you as you're still asleep. But not this time. This time, you woke up. And the first thing you see were Sanemi's wide eyes staring right back at you. And this, this triggered your fight or flight. So you hit him and jumped off the bed, you didn't make it far before he grabbed your arm and exclaimed, "Shit-! Babe it's me!" He said holding the part of his face you harshly attacked. "Oh..I'm sorry 'Semi.." you say, turning around to see your boyfriend with his eyes squinted and checking to see if he's bleeding.

○Mitsuri Kanroji○

•The sweetest thing on earth, but she will 100% be angry at you for not eating after you're done doing a hard mission or task, she thinks you deserve a good meal after all that but sometimes it comes off more aggressive than she wants.

You had just finished a mission killing a few lower rank demons and in the process got a cut on your arm, so now you're on the way to the butterfly mansion to make sure that this doesn't get worse. When you arrive you see none other than you're sweet girlfriend, Mitsuri. You smile at her and approach her before you can ask her anything she just goes, "Have you eaten yet?" And when you answer no her face turns pouty. "Wait but I can explain-" before you can finish she interrupts you, "Y/N you know you're supposed to eat at least 3 meals a day! Last time I saw you was lunch and you didnt even eat that! How are you supposed to be a strong Hasira if you dont take care of yourself? You--" she cut herself off when she saw your bleeding arm, "AND you're bleeding? There would've been less blood had you kept a good eating habit but no, 'Im-A-Meal-Skipper' you didn't!" She says getting more pouty and pissed. She means well yes but she very aggressive in making sure you eat right so that you're okay. So pull up a chair you might wanna get nice and comfy because depending on whenever Shinobu comes back this can take a while.

aw giyuus parenting being influenced by urokodaki and tsutako is so sweet to me. Like tsutako, I wish urokodakis relationship with Giyuu was explored more in the manga. How did tsutako and urokodaki baby Giyuu?

Isn’t it implied that Giyuu didn’t really visit urokodaki after his final selection? I see the potential for some sweet reconnect type thing, where they both have to relearn how to exist w each other and show each other affection since it’s been a while.

well i fucking ADORE tsutako so much actually. urokodaki and tsutako treated giyuu differently because their places in his life were fundamentally different: tsutako was his mother, his sister, the woman who raised him and loved him. she helped lay the groundwork for who is he is as a whole- she was and still is monumental in his mind. his love for her is completely and utterly huge. she treated him fairly and kindly- she treated him like her son, and wasn’t often harsh with him. 

urokodaki was also gentle, but he wasn’t giyuus parent. he was giyuus teacher; first and foremost he was someone who helped guide giyuu into a very dangerous profession. he trained him to be the best of the best because giyuu (while not as hard hitting or bold as sabito) had speed, precision and a steadfast will to protect. urokodaki wouldn’t have forced him into it: giyuu took to training with his entire being. 

urokodaki wasn’t always kind. there are harsh, violent lessons you must go through to become a demon slayer that won’t perish at the first clawing- the first gnash of a demons teeth is always the worst. luckily, he saw even sharper teeth hidden behind giyuus tiny smiles and soft voice. 

tsutako didn’t baby him, per se, but she was soft with him. she helped him wash his hair, let him curl up in her futon with her and helped him hide the first nest he ever made. her nests were small, could fit in cabinets or forgotten cupboards- giyuu takes after her in that aspect. 

urokodaki didn’t baby him. he occasionally brought him to teahouses or festivals, but he also brought sabito. he rewarded giyuu for his hard work more than he babied him.

it had taken giyuu away from him in a different sense. he still lives, breathes, eats and sleeps- he just doesn’t come home. from the brief and quietly agonized letters he sends every once and a while urokodaki can tell the night took him- just… in a different way. he doesn’t return even when he promised, at the ripe age of fourteen and a half, to do so. 

giyuu is afraid of seeing urokodaki. not the fear of demons, or of death or of loosing someone he loves, but the strange type of dread that comes when you find something you didn’t mean to forget. hadn’t meant to leave behind, didn’t want to part with but couldn’t bear to hold. he’s ashamed of breaking his promises. 

eventually, giyuu gets a letter from tanjiro. nezuko enjoys being with urokodaki and tanjiro misses him. he assumes giyuu does as well and implores him to visit. 

urokodaki isn’t aware that his other students (nezuko included of course) have bonded so closely with giyuu. his one student who was taken by the night and spat back out. tanjiro had returned to him bathed in the light of dawn; giyuu finally arrives home on a clouded noon, years after he left. 

they’re both new people, but in that singular moment urokodaki is staring down at the half-frozen child he met so long ago. giyuu looks back at him, guilt, shame and relief building tightly in him. 

when urokodaki hugs him, cradling the back of giyuus head in his hand and mask tipped to the side to hug him better, he realizes giyuu is taller than him. the sun does not break from behind the clouds; but urokodaki thinks one dreary day is a small price in the face of his beloved student coming home.

the kids love giyuu a lot but they’re still getting used to him, and vice versa. tanjiro is used to protecting and providing so having someone do it for him feels… a little bit condescending at first, but when they talk about it he begins to settle into the idea more. it’s meant out of a genuine want for his safety and happiness as opposed to giyuu not thinking he’s capable. 

eventually they all settle in enough to show off, mui and inosuke (and nezuko oddly enough) just get a head start. 

dams are another term for mother, usually used in relation to omegas (both male and female) and has slightly different emotional connotations than just “mom”. 

 I need to know how the pups collect him😭 also what do all the hashira and oyakata sama think about him joining them?

it’s all tanjiros fault, really. when mui and giyuu were recovering from their mission, giyuu was in a very hormonally vulnerable state because he had just fully imprinted on a pup who was injured while in his care. he started nesting even while his hip/leg was fucked up, and was spending a lot of his time in his nest with mui. 

tanjiro visited him a lot, sometimes even being pulled into the nest beside mui because he fucking loves tanjiro (this is after the sword smith arc). 

nezuko was always with tanjiro, and where they went zenitsu and inosuke were never far behind. they were consistently shooed away because “if you don’t get out of his nest right now you’ll mess him up more and delay recovery for them both! not to mention you’re all still pups and Tomioka was just newly imprinted on!” (by aoi, who didn’t notice -or maybe just didn’t acknowledge- that she was also slowly imprinting on giyuu)

kanao also frequently did shooing duty, but liked to spend time with the others while they were all there. 

tanjiro saw that giyuu and mui were healing and in better spirits, as giyuu was becoming more open and warm with them (beginning to treat them as his pups) and mui was lightening up around people that weren’t tanjiro or giyuu!

he dragged genya around too, because they’re friends damnnit and genya is going to spend some boss ass quality time with them if he like it or not. 

this all backfires spectacularly when shinobu catches all of these children taking a dogpile nap on giyuu. they’re careful of his and muichirous injuries, but still. she’s right cheesed when she figures out giyuu has claimed them as his: they’re his kids now and nothing will make him let them go. 

oyakata was both so very very pleased to become a grandfather (something he didn’t think would happen before he died) and also quietly amused. his biological children are also pleased to become aunts and an uncle, even if their nieces/nephews are older than them. 

shinobu has some confusing feelings abt it all. on one hand, giyuu is healing from being nulled and is creating important bonds with people, but in the other he keeps stealing her fucking kids/sister. the triplets, aoi and kanao are her girls. but giyuu just swept on in and started mothering them. so to be petty (and to maybe give herself a little bit of normalcy) she starts acting all Pack Alpha around the girls. and mui. and the other kids. (she’s digging herself a fucking grave. giyuu has begun to act like she’s part of the pack. she’s so stupid for thinking this wouldn’t happen)

mitsuri, gyomei, and uzui all think it’s nice. uzui thinks it’s more funny and flashy than pleasant, but he still gossips about it with his wives. 

obanai fucking hates it. end of story. 

muichirou and kyojuro both adore it. muichirou doesn’t remember everything about his life before, but he remembers warmth. he remembers hands that held his face and swept away his tears; the scent of home buzzes constantly in his nose- the memories from his family before and the fresh notes of his family now. he promises that he will never forget any of them ever again. 

kyojuro can’t get enough of it. giyuu smiles at him, spars with him, flutters at the edges of his vision even when he’s gone. the thought of giyuu is always with him; the shape of his body and the tilt of his lips when he hums to a curled up nezuko sleeping peacefully in his lap. bathed in light or rain or fucking ash giyuu would be more breathtaking then any god in kyojuros eyes.

mostly the shenanigans are giyuu coming to the flame estate and everyone either a) going super overkill in training to show off their progress, b) shinjuro and giyuu awkwardly existing in each other’s presence (bc shinjuro Knows. he is completely aware of his eldest sons infatuation) c) kyojuro attempting to “subtly” keep giyuu and senjuro from spending too much time together while still pushing them together enough for them to get along or d) some horrible mix of them all, plus other random little issues.

it’s a whole mess, basically, but they all become more in tuned with each other. shinjuro is the exception of course; he’s fairly distant with his sons students. and the pretty water hashira.

the hashira of the estates generally like giyuu a lot. kyojuro is… horribly in love with him, and would give anything for the chance to properly show it.

gyomei thinks giyuu is sweet- and he never actually intended to steal his student. his visits are usually timed well enough to never interrupt anything and he brings gyomei high quality cat treats as gratitude gifts, so gyomei has no complaints. (it helps that genya seems to relax quite a bit when with two extremely powerful omegas who care about him very much- he’s not scared of being an omega, but the thought of navigating it alone was never pleasant)

muichirou obviously loves being in his home with giyuu, even though he’s taken to spending a good amount of his down time in the water estate. most of his house hands are working there now- it gets a lot more traffic and now requires a lot more upkeep. he’s a tiny little pre-presentation alpha pup with a mother that he loves to impress. his collection of terrariums is no joke, and he finds they both enjoy spending quiet time surrounded by the pretty glass jars.

shinobu definitely likes giyuu; she wishes his newfound tendencies towards gaining children stopped or at LEAST slowed down though. she and giyuu get a bunch of focus for their relationship as well- i’m unsure about whether or not to keep it platonic but still with lots of intimacy and trust (like queer platonic partners- commitment and love but not strictly romantic) or if i should go the romantic route. i’m 50-50 split currently. all i know is that she’s an important part of the ever growing pack.

How does Giyuu fall in love with him back? How does shinjuro react to suddenly having all these people at the estate? How would kyo let Giyuu know of his feelings?  

giyuu falls in love with a lot of difficultly, grief, and guilt. he and sabito were courting from the ages of 12-15, and had promises. they were supposed to become the water pillars together- a bonded team so strong they would embody the ocean and all her tides. when sabito died giyuu felt less like the ocean and more like an ice floe; cold dark and dangerous, isolating in strange and terrifying ways.

in some ways he never let go. even after he begins to heal, let himself thaw and crumble under the warmth of his pups love, his pack, there was always the shape of sabito carved into him. a brand of love, friendship and deep respect- but a brand nonetheless.

generally, giyuu thinks it’s a disrespect to sabitos memory to fall in love with someone else. to hold them like that in the same space in giyuus heart that he had taken. but slowly, as giyuu visits the flame pillar estate more often and watches him live (the night his crow had told him of the train is held deep inside of himself. he does not think about why the memory rests next to the news of his parents death- of his sister smoothing his hair as she sobbed and sobbed and didn’t let him see them even after the villagers helped remove them from the house.) he realizes that sabitos place can remain his.

he can keep his first love (his first everything) in the same place. he doesn’t have to throw him away to love someone again. tanjiro and nezuko don’t throw away their family for a new one- muichirou doesn’t throw away his sparse memories of a face mirroring his own for the other pups. zenitsu doesn’t throw away his grandfather or even the brother that hated him; they all just make new space. giyuu simply (read: with great difficulty and lots of hesitation) wants to do the same.

giyuu doesn’t love like the ocean- nor does he feel like it when he’s with kyojuro. kyojuro is hot embers and thick sloughing metal- giyuu feels like the moment he makes contact he’ll burst into steam. kyojuro makes giyuu feel like endless rain sinking deep into the earth. he isn’t a glacier, or a steep and deadly ice floe, but he is a man. a man and an omega and a mother and a son and his sisters little brother. he wants kyojuro.

kyojuro is both stunningly impatient and mature, which tempers his impatience enough to seem nonexistent. he’s eager and jovial and quick to move, but not stupid. he thinks things through, he just has very little shame or boundaries with himself. other people on the other hand…

they aren’t easy for him. he gets along with most people but it’s usually by accident or by saving them from a demon that would’ve killed them. giyuu is easy to speak with- gentle and quiet but easy to goad into reacting if you phrase things right. he’s competitive, resilient and so so fucking gorgeous.

kyojuro doesn’t tell giyuu right away. he can tell there is still a thick wall between giyuus heart and everyone else. the pups hop the wall often, but occasionally stumble or are knocked back. kyo very rarely even gets to climb high enough to glimpse the other side.

he speaks with his father first. it’s painful, in the way speaking privately with his father has been for years, but there is no alcohol in the room and it smells of his mothers favourite incense.

Sabito would always have protected him and no one would have even layed a finger on Giyuu since Sabito was cool and nice like that, but he transferred schools since he was super intelligent like that. Poor Giyuu-

Obanai spends his time either eating flowers, gathering leaves for Shinobu to heal kids with, eating paper, eating TOILET paper, eating napkins, eating bugs, eating sand, or scamming kids by opening a business with Tengens snacks or/and a business where kids either slave away for a snack or collect tiny pebbles (300 of them, yes I got scammed) for a small snack/cool looking shard of glass. (They then said if I could give them their piece of glass back since it was their friends. They didn’t return my rocks- 😔)

Gyomei would have been first to hit his growth spurt and now he is forced to get stuff from the top shelf for his teacher/classmates. He would also be a huge crybaby and if he fell of the monkey bars he would cry meanwhile Shinobu rushes over to him and heals him with her leaves. Leaving Giyuu all to Sanemi. Poor Giyuu.

The TDD get punted into the world of Demon Slayer via illegal microphone, starring:

Ramuda as Tanjiro

Jakurai as Nezuko

Ichiro as Zenitsu

Samatoki as Inosuke

None of them know what's going on and they're all disasters (they blame Ichiro though, this anime-esque shit has got to be Ichiro's fault). The only mostly responsible one has been turned into a demon and Ramuda is panic-screeching in his mind.

Ramuda and Jakurai live together. Jakurai runs a small cliniic and orphanage which he's been running for quite some time before he stumbled upon a child Ramuda and took him in.

Ramuda was not a happy camper when he comes to and comes face to face with Jakurai, but since they're in the Edo period ("We are in the Taisho era, Amemura-kun" "Ugh, whatever! Close enough!"), he figures it'll be safer if he sticks with the old man.

Ichiro is an orphan that gets picked up by Kuwajima like Zenitsu, but no electrocution for this boy. He's a diligent student, but can't seem to really pick up any other of the Thunder Breathing forms other than the first one because of plot device

Samatoki grows up in the forest as well, but he is a civilized person no matter what anyone may say. Plus, he has some experience of survival cooking thanks to Rio. His Beast Breathing is a combination of influence from the wild animals that he grows up with and memories of Rio and Jyuto

Ramuda returns from selling coal when Muzan kills everyone at the clinic and turns Jakurai into a demon, paralleling canon with Tanjiro and Nezuko. Jakurai doesn't recognize Ramuda at first, mind still stuck in the in-between of human and demon. He doesn't eat anyone but he does nearly attack Ramuda when he gets back but regains his mind at the last second.

After an encounter with Giyuu and Jakurai proving that he's still very much himself, Ramuda travels to find Urokodaki with a child sized Jakurai in a basket. It is very awkward for both of them and Ramuda promises that he'll find a way to turn Jakurai back into a human

Ramuda is very much panicking and screeching in his mind because what the fuck is going on and why the fuck do demons of all things suddenly exist and Ichiro, this is totally your fault, what is this, an anime???

Jakurai is a very tired (tm) and kinda pissed that he has to rely on Ramuda now. He's also a little mad about having to be the size of a toddler most of the time

Ramuda learns Water Breathing while Jakurai starts rehoning his assassin skills. He might be a healer now, but with how dangerous this world seems to be, well, someone has to watch Ramuda's back.

Along the way, Ramuda figures out that he can use his microphone's ability along with Water Breathing. His sense of smell is also ridiculously good for some reason, which is helpful to find demons, he supposes. Jakurai on the other hand, finds out that not only can he use blood demon arts, but also use his microphone's ability, except it's more like he can help others regenerate/heal fast. They're both really weirded out, but hey, at least its useful???

Ramuda ends up meeting Ichiro on his way to Tsuzumi Mansion. To say that they're surprised would be a huge understatement. Ichiro had assumed that he was alone while Ramuda had assumed that it was only him and Jakurai. Jakurai is conveniently asleep in the box when this happens and it slips Ramuda's mind to tell Ichiro. Ichiro is slightly suspicious though, because his sense of hearing is really good and he's pretty sure there's a demon in there, but Ramuda wasn't saying anything???

Samatoki is trapped in Tsuzumi Mansion and cursing himself for rushing in without a plan when he encounters Ichiro with a civilian kid. While surprised to see each other, they nearly start fighting before being reminded that hey, they're kinda in a demon lair right now.

When Ramuda, Ichiro, and Samatoki finally reunite, it's a bit bittersweet because on one hand, they're really glad they're not the only ones here, but on the other hand, why are they in this weird ass world?

Also, Ichiro and Samatoki question, if the three of them were here, where was Jakurai?

"Uhhh... Yeeeah... About that... The old man is kinda, uh." Ramuda sweats his way through this conversation, "I'll tell you guys when we get to the Wisteria house, 'kay?"

When they finally get to the House with the Wisteria family crest ("Holy shit, that old lady is creepy." "Stop being a baby, Ichiro.") Ramuda finally reluctantly reveals what happened to Jakurai.

"So, about the old man. We kinda ended up together," Ramuda starts explaining, "Like he ran a clinic and everything and I lived there for a while."

"Eh, did he stay behind?" Ichiro questioned, confused to where this conversation was going. Samatoki is nodding next to him, confused.

"About two years back, we... the clinic got attacked by a demon. Muzan," Ramuda breaths, "And the old man..."

Ichiro and Samatoki's eyes widen. Was Jakurai dead?

"... Jakurai got turned into a demon," Ramuda finally admits. He turns towards the box and raps his knuckles on it.

"Yo, old man. Are you coming out or not? You've been asleep in there for ages!"

The door of the box swings open, a tiny hand revealing itself before its owner crawls out, purple hair splayed everywhere.

"What," Samatoki breathlessly stares, "the fuck."

A toddler-sized Jinguji Jakurai stares back, muzzled mouth quirking down and an unimpressed look plastered on his child-like face.

Both Ichiro and Samatoki are very, very surprised. They quickly agree to help Ramuda find a way to turn Jakurai back into a human. If they happen to spend a couple minutes cooing over how cute he looks, well that's no one else's business, now is it?

They learn that while Jakura has retained his mind, his body is still very much like a demon's. He can't stand in sunlight or eat human food. His energy comes from sleeping and while he can speak, but only when he's in his adult form. He's more or less non-verbal as a child.

Ichiro stews in his thoughts in the meantime. He's fairly sure this is the plot of an anime he saw once... He keeps quiet though because he's not 100% certain, but did the illegal mic seriously punt them into an anime?

Jakurai is very unhappy with what happened at Natagumo mountain and is even more unhappy with being stabbed multiple times while in the box while being put on trial. Honestly, what sort of barbaric trial is this? Hitoya would be so dissapointed.

When Sanemi tries to bait Jakurai using his own blood, Jakurai just sends a "I'm very exhausted and exasperated" look at Ramuda

"Oyakata-sama," Jakurai hears someone scream, "I will present to you the ugliness of what we call demons!"

He's mildly cranky at being woken up by all this chattering and being suddenly stabbed, but even that isn't able to distract him from the sudden scent of blood seeping into the box.

Sweet... But, no, Jakurai had sworn that he would not fall prey to these demonic temptations.

"Hey demon! It's time to eat! Sink your teeth on this!"

As the door of the box is ripped open, Jakurai frowns at the rudeness. The blood is tempting, yes, but more importantly...

Jakurai tilts his head to look at Ramuda. Are they serious?

No fucking duh! The look Ramuda shoots back is scathing and furious, though more because he was being restrained by the man with the snake then at Jakurai.

"Shinazugawa-kun, was it," he sighs as the people watching gasp. He's well aware that he's rather tall, even in the modern age.

"You shouldn't needlessly injure yourself," he grabs a roll of bandages and starts wrapping the young man's wound. The boy looks rather shocked and angry, but Jakurai didn't really have the energy to really care.

"Huh?"

"Eh?"

Jakurai hears the confusion around him, but chose to ignore it. Giyuu and Ramuda could deal with the questions later, he decided, Jakurai was already exhausted from Natagumo mountain.

"Wait a second!"

Jakurai turns, finishing up wrapping the young man's arm.

"I thought the box was stupidly heavy, but you're like the size of a toddler normally," Ramuda starts, "Have I been basically carrying a shit-ton of medical supplies?!"

Jakurai rolled his eyes, shooting the most unimpressed look he could at the pink-haired gremlin, "Well someone has to take care of your injuries, no?"

"You - you stupid old man! I can't believe anyone calls you saint! Aaughh!! I hope you break your back!"

"That would most assuredly be very difficult to do with my regeneration. Though, I suppose object permanence is rather difficult for children like you."

Maybe they should tone down their arguments a little... nah. It effectively derails the meeting, which was the entire point of Ramuda's outburst, of course.

When Ramuda and Jakurai finally arrive at the Butterfly estate, they find Ichiro with shrunken limbs ("The medicine sucks, but it's nothing worse than what sensei's given me before...") and Samatoki with a crushed throat ("Fuck... I was so weak..."). Ramuda is also in a lot of pain. Jakurai manages to recover fairly quickly with lots of sleep and spends a lot of their recovery time assisting the nurses.

Ramuda tries to figure out why he can do Hinokami Kagura and is very confused. Jakurai tiredly reminds him that it's probably because he used to watch Tanjuro, a former patient who lived at the clinic, do it. While Jakurai only knows about Hinokami Kagura as a ritual dance, he is reminded that the sick and frail man had died and left behind a pair of strange-looking earrings.

When training begins, Ichiro, Samatoki, Ramuda are motivated and stubborn to a fault, so they manage to learn Total Concentration: Constant. Ramuda also has a conversation with the Butterfly pillar, Shinobu ("Please do your best, Ramuda-kun. When I see you doing your best in my stead, I feel much better."), it makes him think back on his relationship with the Chuuoku. These people... They care a lot and they're fighting for their lives and humanity every day. They aren't even comparable to manipulations and cruelty of the Chuuoku, and Ramuda wonders a bit if he even wants to go back. Sure, there's Gentaro and Dice, but... here, he's not sick. He's not living day-to-day wondering if he'll outlive his usefulness. Here... he's able to stay at Jakurai's side.

Jakurai is the one to become friends with Kanao is this universe, because let's be honest here, Ramuda is really not the type to be nice out of the goodness of his heart, and Ichiro would probably do it, but he's kinda still recovering from nearly becoming a spider.

"You should listen to your own heart," the purple-haired demon hums. He's talking to her, but Kanao doesn't know why. The demon - Jakurai, she thinks - had been taking time out of his day since he'd recovered to talk to her.

She doesn't respond often. Her coin doesn't land on tails that often, but it doesn't seem to bother the tall demon. And tall he is, his height easily looming over her, but there's an aura of kindness and gentleness that tells Kanao that this demon wouldn't hurt her. It's a strange thing to think about a demon.

It's Jakurai's last day here. The other demon slayers, including the one that Jakurai travels with is leaving. Kanao isn't sure, but she thinks she might be a little sad about it. The demon has been good company, she has to admit to herself a little.

"People," she hears him breathe, "are driven by their hearts. If you live by your heart, your heart will grow stronger than ever."

Jakurai smiles down at her. It's gentle and warm and his eyes crinkle a little bit at the edges. He ruffles her hair a bit, a familiar motion over the course of the month.

She knows it's time for him to leave when he gets up. He leans over and straighten outs the butterfly in her hair, giving one last kind smile.

"Live by your heart's desire, Kanao. And stay healthy."

With that, he leaves, leaving Kanao behind contemplating his words. Could she really live like that? Live by her heart's desires...? There was something in the kind demon's words and smiles that made her think that maybe, just maybe... she could.

Samatoki and Ramuda's first impression of Rengoku is that he's a weirdo. Ichiro on the other hand thinks he's kinda cool. Jakurai is asleep and therefore doesn't care.

When they're put asleep by Enmu, they end up dreaming about their respective division (sans Jakurai). It's also a bit of a harsh awakening that they've all gotten pretty complacent of this world and that they need to find a way to get back to the modern age ASAP.

When Rengoku is nearly dead because of Akaza, Ichiro, Samatoki, and Ramuda are inconveniently a little bit attached to the strange Hashira. As a desperate last resort, Ramuda gets Jakurai to try and heal the man. After all, they were all sick of the people they cared about dying and if this could save him...

"There's no point in shouting now," Ramuda hears the hashira call out from behind him. His vision is blurry from tears, and distantly, he recognizes the resigned tone in the man's voice. Rengoku Kyoujuro was had already accepted his death as inevitable.

"The wound on my stomach is opening," the man tells Ramuda, "And your injuries aren't minor either."

Samatoki is watching silently and Ramuda can see out of the corner of eye that Ichiro is making sure Jakurai doesn't get killed by the sun.

Wait. Jakurai. The old man could heal Rengoku, right?

It takes a moment of shouting to Samatoki and Ichiro to convey his idea, but even as Rengoku is staring at them with a single, intense eye, they manage to get Jakurai and Rengoku into the shaded trees of the forest nearby.

"Ramuda-kun," Jakurai quietly says, before focusing his attention on Rengoku's injuries. It's not a promise, Ramuda knows, but Jakurai is a doctor through and through. He'll do his best to ensure that Rengoku survives, he knows this.

Rengoku is watching them confused, a couple of protests having spilled out, but he's ignored in favor of getting Jakurai over as quickly as possible.

Ramuda has seen Jakurai heal a couple of people over the years with his ability, but it's always amazing to see it like this rather than through a microphone.

"Hypnosis Microphone: Medication," Jakurai breathes, and as his hands glows, the injuries beneath start to mend themselves. It starts off slow, but as color returns to the hashira's cheeks and breathing evens out, Ramuda knows that it's working. Knows that Jakurai is doing everything he can to heal the man.

There's going to lots and lots of questions later, Ramuda knows, but for now he's glad. He's glad that Jakurai is here, that Ichiro and Samatoki are here, that he's not alone.

He's glad that he doesn't have to see another person that he cares about die.
