There is so much beauty and catharsis in the panels of Kanao and Inouske crying after they defeat Douma. Both characters struggle with expressing vulnerability Kanao learned not to cry due to her painful past, while Inouske relied on shutting away the memory of his mom to shield himself from the feelings of abandonment. They are both too young yet have gone through so much and experienced harrowing loss, we almost experience all these heavy feelings alongside them, to deal with something this hard, people need an outlet, and the body demands it, the readers and the characters find themselves in the same spot, both in need of relief as all the emotions build up and the sadness peaks, that's when the tears start to flow. Kanao's hair is loose and she finally cries after years of abuse and loss. Inouske sits there unmasked and cries, allowing himself to do so after acting tough for so long, he finally lets go. It is a well executed and profound moment

The next page shows both of them leaning on each other, just two kids who have lost and found their families at the same time. She fixes her hairpin and he wears his mask, and then they continue their way to the next fight
