With my latest post about Kanae i'm inspired now to do an analysis of how it could have went her fight against Douma with the little information we got

With the close-up of Kanae's sword... what if Kanao took her butterfly clip, and Shinobu her handguard? I know they have the same but I see Shinobu changing hers to her sister's as both as a tribute to her and the beginning of her masking to adapt Kanae's personality <- (as well as the haori)

Not related but I love how their handguard can be perceived as a four petal flower for Flower breathing and a butterfly for Insect breathing

Also i still don't know why the anime cut off and removed their swords (the detail that Kanae's broke during the fight !) and rather gave her a totally made up one, lol (or maybe they just picked up a random colour palette except for the light pink since that's flower breathing shade, because the handguard looks like in the manga but orange)

I still have the question how was scheduled the female slayers training in the HT arc because we never see them and it seems like the hashiras are all day with the male ones, we know for a fact that there are female slayers taking in part because Kanao was heading to the Wind Estate when Shinobu called her (and it would be weird to leave them out if they are preparing for a big war anwyay). Not seeing any female slayer through Tanjiro's training makes me think that the training is not mixed, which makes things more confusing and difficult if they have to take turns to train other bunch of slayers.

IMO it would have been interesting if Ufotable gave us some exclusive content 1. Because i wanted more Kanao content (the lack of media the women had in this arc is flabbergasting, they did Mitsuri so dirty compared to her peers) and 2. Is there any difference between the men and women? I mean, Obanai would definetely not feel comfortable being surrounded by so many women and I can't imagine Sanemi being so harsh towards them like with the male slayers (being mean to them, not making the training easier i mean). Would've added a new perspective with the other characters that will take on the final battle, and made the season a little bit longer.

The closest thing was Ufotable baiting us in the opening with Kanao with the rest (which she looks very ahead of) and it gave me hope that we would see more of her (really, I wanted to see the other characters like her or Inosuke training and interacting with the hashiras even if it was a flashback since we were having exclusive content, guess I was asking for too much).

It could've been acknowledged in a Taisho secret or the databook since Gotouge uses them often to clarify some things that aren't explained in the manga, but we will never know

One of my favorite details is this one... Gotouge wanted to highlight Sanemi's speech when he is talking about his mom and siblings by zooming to his katana with a strong grip —his handguard being a tribute to his family; each sharp end representing the 7 people he deeply loved and cared all his life, and himself (leaving out the scumbag of his "father", fuck him). It makes both the panel and his message gain more strenght because it emphasizes how Sanemi still thinks and constantly keeps in mind his family and wants something to honour them. Choosing the path of blood and violence to end with the creatures that turned his mother into one and killing his sibling sin the processes, and make sure Genya can live in safety and grant him a future because he would not allow his only living brother face the same fate as his other siblings.

It's like a reminder that despite the events of years ago that traumatized him to the core and radically changed him as a person, his family will be always with him, and he will always remember them no matter what.

Mitsuri's weirdness is slept on me thinks. It's true that Mitsuri sorta represents normalcy in kny's bleak setting, despite being seen as unusual over something she can't control, but still, she's a weirdo <3 (affectionate) Maybe people forget that Mitsuri is weird because she doesn't have deceased parents (therefore isn't as unhinged as the other characters) and is girly(?) so surely, she must like normal girly things like makeup and shopping. I mean true! I'm sure she enjoys those, but I don’t think those are the only things she would like. (besides food ofc) Mitsuri is depicted as so stereotypically girly that it is unconventional in itself. She made the boys wear LEOTARDS in the hashira training arc. She's weird in a childish whimsey sort of way.

Mitsuri is a fangirl. She gushes over her colleagues at the most inappropriate times, but she compliments the things that are unconventional, like Sanemi's scars, Giyuu being quiet, or Obanai being snakey. (whatever that means)

Ya girl is also so obsessed with cats that her breathing style techniques are named after cats?? Complete with meowing sound effects too. Cat Love shower hello?!??.

Also I feel that aside from normal girly things, Mitsuri would LOVE magical girl things like sailor moon. There's so much magical girl motifs to her. She is like obsessed with cute things that her breathing in itself is super colorful and shiny, with bubbles and glitters. She also does a lot of unnecessary backflips, because she's just that. Extra.

She even has little hearts on her tsuka! Everyone else is regular looking or plain. I think she's the only one with that kind of design on her katana.

And I don't think these are a coincidence. Even in extra materials she literally has a ridiculous yet adorable OC named Big Hand Cat.

Look at her dragon even! Its so silly and whimsy I love it. It's like her cat oc in dragon form, complete with the big anime eyes. Again, Mitsuri would soooo love anime.

She even made a manga where the characters are based on FOOD

In short, Mitsuri is equivalent to THAT weird art kid. She's a weirdo let her be weird. 🩷
