“What’s the matter angel?” I cut myself off half way through my story.

Timothée’s face was bright red. There was sweat slick on his forehead. He hadn’t eaten much. He was simply pushing food around his plate.

“Nothing,” he shook his head.

“Something is clearly wrong,” I said, unhappily, putting my cutlery down.

“N-no, don’t worry about it.”

“Is it the food?”

“No!” He almost yelped.

“Then take a bite,” I demanded.

“I don’t need-“

“Take a bite,” I encouraged. I knew he was too polite to send food back that he didn’t enjoy.

“I-“

I didn’t let him finish when I saw that he wasn’t doing what I had asked. I reached forward and took a bite of his food.

“Holy shit, babe, this is so spicy,” I said in shock. “Isn’t your stomach hurting?”

“Well, um,” he trailed off. His stomach seemed to answer the question with an odd sound. He looked even more red now and I knew it was because he was embarrassed.

“Come on,” I said, slamming bills down on the table.

“No, no, no, I don’t want to ruin date night!” He nearly wailed as I grabbed his hand and kissed it.

“You’re not, I just don’t want you to feel sick,” I said gently.

He was protesting the whole way home. He had shed a few tears even. My poor boy just wanted to please me. He never wanted me to go without.

“See, isn’t this nice?” I asked. I had given him tums and some peanut butter toast with milk. I was snuggled in his warm arms while we watched a Disney movie. I kissed his cheek.

“I suppose,” he grumbled, but he was smiling.

“You didn’t ruin anything baby.”

“Thank you,” he replied, and pulled me closer.

Sunday Confession: Watched the Dune Q&A and can’t help to think that Zendaya is so personable and on another level. She is so great at answering questions and just being very charismatic. She even got an applause for one of her responses when no one else did. The guys were seriously struggling. They need better prep and training next time. Austin is great to look at but honey there’s not much there yet. Timothee was just struggling and avoided answering questions . lol

I finally had a chance to watch the entire Dune Part 2 Q&A yesterday.

Did we watch the same interview lol? 😅 Even the comments from people under the video had nothing but great things to say about the cast and the interview!

I mean, Zendaya is definitely a mega-star, and has had that Disney media star training, so she's learned to come out of her shell more, plus, she's been on several big blockbuster press tours for Spiderman, so yea, she shines brightly in this type of arena! 😊

At the same time though, I didn't feel that Timmy and Austin did poorly? 🤔 They answered the questions just fine imo. While their responses may not have garnered as many laughs and applause as Zendaya's, there were a couple of instances where both Austin and Timmy got laughs for their responses. 🤷🏾‍♀️

You have to remember that Timmy has awkward energy sometimes lol, that's just how he is lol 😆 And Austin is naturally shy, so he's usually going to be a bit more reserved. I would watch his "Elvis" press tour interviews to get more of an idea of his interviewing style.

Keep in mind too that while Zendaya has had a break from acting last year, and took months off with Tom after her Challengers press tour, Timmy and Austin have not really taken an extended break, and both are in the middle of filming movies where they've probably had 16-hour days on set, working late at night, and are probably also just exhausted lol. 😅

Even Z also added that they (the cast) hasn't done promo for Dune 2 since Feb, so they might be a little rusty on answering questions. I loved Z's little anecdotes which were funny, and she is very charming. 🥰

It's funny, coz some fans were saying that Z looked nervous and not herself at the Brazil ComicCon for Dune Part 2 last November (I believe?). 😅 I think we have to remember that actors are just people.... sometimes, they might be feeling anxious, tired, stressed, having a bad day, etc.

I personally thought the cast did great, and it's obvious they all get along just fine. 😊

Warnings: high school Timmy x first person reader, mentions of making out, failing a final, language, little bit of angst

I drove us back to my apartment, after school like I did every other day. Only this day, my jaw was tight and I white-knuckled the steering wheel. Being a grade ahead of Timothee, a year older and completely estranged from my parents, I got my own place my senior year at La Guardia. I could feel Timothee staring at me from the moment we got into my car, brewing a question, waiting for the right moment.

"Geez, y/n, I think if you grit your teeth any harder, they'll crack in half. What's going on?" Timothee finally asked.

"Nothing," I answered back too quickly.

A thick silence filled the car. Timothee drummed a beat with his fingertips on his knees and then sighed. "So, what'd you get on the chem exam?"

"I fucking failed it, okay!?" I yelled, just as I pulled into my designated parking space. "I failed it," I said quieter. I threw my seat belt off of me, the metal latch hitting the window as I trudged up to my apartment. I didn't wait for Timothee, knowing he'd follow me. I left the door open for him and laid face down on my futon I got on clearance at Target.

I heard my front door shut followed by the feeling of the futon dipping down under Timothee's weight. I groaned, as I let the tears I'd been holding back finally brim over my eyes and soak into the ugly brown fabric. Timothee slid his hand under my shirt and rubbed what I assumed were meant to be soothing circles on my lower back.

"So you failed it? Big deal, there's always the retake," he said softly.

I turned over, Timothee's hand staying put, sliding to my stomach as I now laid on my back. "Yeah, but I...ugh fuck, I don't fail! EVER! And we studied every night for like three weeks! What the fuck!"

"I mean...we weren't studying the entire time..." Timothee said, a smirk forming on his face.

"Shut up, Timmy!" I groaned, pulling a throw pillow over my face to cover my smile. I was supposed to me upset!

"If it makes you feel any better," Timothee said, "I failed too."

"Really?"

"Mhm."

"Like...failed failed or just kinda failed?"

"I wasn't aware there were levels," Timothee said, unzipping his backpack and pulling the crumpled-up paper out of the front pocket. How he managed to find anything in a backpack filled with various papers and materials from the entire course of the semester, I wasn't sure. "I got a 29. I'd say that's bottom of the totem pole."

"I got a 29 too," I said, feeling a little bit better that I had someone to commiserate with.

"The retakes next week, think we'll be able to bring it up to a D?" I asked.

"Yeah, if you can stop making out with me and actually study."

I threw my pillow at him, "Pretty sure you're the one that starts every make out, but okay."

"Am not!" Timothee said, already crawling over to me to start just that.

If passing meant not making out with Timothee...it probably wasn't going to happen.

well, there was a lot of going on in april :)

first: MY BIRTHDAYYYY i threw the whole party and invited the half of hollywood lmao. There was a lot of my co-stars, artists and singers. I did it like there was no tomorrow, the party was crazy, basically everyone got drunk and sang 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' like 5 times BUT IT WAS SO COOL UGHHHHH i love them all so so so fucking much. I caan't take it anymore.

I threw the party back in LA, where i was living since my hollywood debut in Ad Astra, but i was planning on moving into NYC fro like a year. SO I DID IT HAHAHAHAHHH it's so cool and i was so excited, but we will move to it later :))

What also happened: PEDRO'S BIRTHDAYYYYY my favourite (okay, he is not the only one BUT STILL) babygirl on earth turned 48 and he invited me to his party which was so COOL!!! idk how will i move on from this, i met BELLA RAMSEY (FINALLY???!?!?!? UGHHH) and met oscar isaac again (for those who don't know, he's my future s/o but it's a long slowburn lmao ✦ he was also my co-star in moon knight, but we knew each other for like a year before this series) after party he took me out to the city, we were talking and walking around LA for HOURS it was so cute he even bought me a rose literally when florist's wanted to close the shop, then we found out paparazzi took a pictures of us there 💀 they are so annoying i swear. but anyway, i had amazing night and oscar made it even better :')

Emma also had her birthday, but i couldn't show up, because of filming 'joker II' with JOAQUIN FUCKING PHEONIX I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE IT. But i sent her birtday present, which was the whole album of photos that i took on my digital camera on our summer & winter holidays - which i thought was super cute :')

April was super productive in a birthday-way as you can see, lmao

But also other super thing happened! Warner Bros. accepted my movie idea and hired me as a director of it. I'M SUPPER EXCITED TO BRING IT TO LIFE UGHHH

i bought cute little flat in Manhattan, and started to plan how to move there with all my things. but you know, i didn't sell my old house - no no no. i would never do that, actually. It's the best house in the whole world duhh🙄. I will be still using it!

My friends helped me a lot with planning the whole 'mission' lmao. Shout-out to pedro he told me to move to NYC and live with rats under brooklyn bridge LOL

its a funny one cos so many huge actors sign on, and you can see why for the job security, although i had no idea about the isolated process for actors! that sounds like the antithesis of what making art (especially in places that are typically community-and-collaborative-based, like theatre and film) should be about. but i remember timothee chalamet saying someone gave him advice about being an actor and one of the two things was never do comic book films lol.

as for ST, as much as it got off on being all action hero-y with s4, at its core this show is not comparable to marvel to me at all. i truly dont see how people can look at el and think marvel. i suppose superhero stories are often about the pain of being alienated and different, but rarely do they tell this story in a human, grounded way, because there's always an emphasis on growing into your power and accepting your fate as an outcast and superhero. whereas to me el's story is about letting that go, its about her trauma and pain. we're not supposed to cheer when she does superhero shit in s4, yet everyone i see does. remember when she saved mike from the cliff in s1? iconic and thrilling. but her bringing down that helicopter in s4? we were supposed to be scared of her. and worried for her choices. she was a weapon, as mike said long ago.

Oh no, not the MCU! I'm a long suffering Marvel divorcee! Haha, it's honestly not that dramatic. Fond memories, things I still really liked - just not keeping up with it any more. There's too much to keep track of to be a completionist for a media franchise and I already was falling away by the time Endgame happened. I don't have enough time to dedicate to keeping up with it and I was never a comics fan either and too many new characters and storylines I just don't have enough interest in, broadening the movie universe more. Yes thank you!!!! This so much. Even if I do prefer the tone of the earlier seasons, the trajectory is just as important. And why her story has nuance that the greater audience and El stans all seem to miss. Her powers are not to be celebrated as this huge superhero thing - thus also the failing of Mike and El. She does have a different path yet to take, an arc unfulfilled until she learns who she is beyond what she can do. I don't think she's to be this admirable, enviable more-than-human character. Be scared for her and of her. She's still a work in progress. And I hope people like us are reading it right - otherwise, what a troubling message...

Late wordy confession! I’ve been thinking about the differences of the 2 press tours from Zendaya this year specifically how she interacts with the Challengers boys vs. Timmy for Dune.

Sure when Dune first came out there were people who shipped Timothee and ZendayA but that’s also because people heavily believed tz were pr for spider-man. it’s been 3 years since that. So I was definitely shocked how she acted towards Timothee during the tour. Also the fact they were hardly paired together during interviews even though this movies big push was the love story. I think she requested to not be paired alone with Timmy unless absolutely necessary. But I also think that the separation is what helped fuel a lot of their kissing questions. If they had been paired together i think they could’ve handled the topic and redirected to the actual film plot similar to how they handled those type of questions during the first press tour to the point that wasn’t the focus after a while. It felt heavier this time because they were separated and having to deny it with co-stars who had nothing to do with the situation in a movie that was pushing a love story we rarely got to hear the leads talk about together!

Then you have the separation for Jesus when they were on the carpets and press calls where Z didn’t even turn towards Timothee like he was there at all. It felt more obvious than the first tour where she at least seemed like she wanted to be there. I really would think maybe she does hate him because something happened in the months from Darnell’s party to the tour and the accounts on here are correct about her dislike for him. but there are videos of them interacting more comfortably when there aren’t cameras focused on them at various events during the press tour. So they are still friends and they’re acting like that why?

When you compare it to Challenges where Z is easily interacting with those guys and it feels more like her energy from Dune 1 I was even more confused. I was assuming that after how she was with Dune2 she would be even more stiff with the guys for this tour considering the reception of that first trailer, but she hasn’t been. there’s still a boundary in that trio but it’s more approachable.

Why at this point is Timmy the only one getting this distance? They never did anything to make people believe anything was going on with them (not line the Bones &All or Queen Charlotte leads etc). There doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between them. Like they even matched their fashion for the tour and he’s one of her only co- stars even game to attempt that. Those jumpsuits in Korea were so good for a reason. It’s her boundaries to set and I am happy that Timothee doesn’t seem like an asshole who purposely would try to make her uncomfortable in public and just engaged more with other co-stars so the distance didn’t seem weird to the gp.

i just don’t get how long she’ll push this with him specifically. Or what is really prompting her to be as far from him as possible in public. Like I said earlier this month about this topic, I really don't think that the interactions btwn Z and Timmy were as "weird" as some fans are making it out to be during the Dune Part 2 press tour.

I already provided significant evidence in my post here (below) that they (the entire cast imo) seemed just fine with each other?? 😅

I've theorized however that I think Z and Timmy tend to keep their "distance" (if you can even call it that) when the cameras are rolling on them because they are very acutely aware of the insane shipping of their two huge fandoms. I personally think it makes them a bit uncomfortable.

Also, I don't think Z asked to NOT be put with Timmy during DP2 press... WTH?? 😅 You don't usually get to make those types of decisions when it's the studio who's PAYING you to promote THEIR film. I never expected WB to have them paired up with each other for all of the interviews in the first place....esp not when they have added two additional new characters to the film. Timmy & Z already did a ton of interviews together for Dune 1 press. Why would WB do that yet again??

And why would she need to request something like that in the first place? They're FRIENDS! They don't have anything against each other. Z is closer to Timmy than even Josh and Mike. She's also known him longer. You can just look at their bts filming shots.

When they're not in front of the fans with all eyes on them however, they are way more comfortable around each other because they know that their every move and interaction w/each other isn't going to be dissected to death. 🙄

Personally, I think they were just fine during the press tour (way less rigid than the first press tour imo), but I do think Z is very keenly aware of the weird shipping, and she doesn't want to add fuel to the fire.

There is a possibility more is going on and it’s not PR. And in the other hand, even if we see them kissing in public it could be PR. Its hard to tell but I do know that in Hollywood, things move a thousand miles a minute and things that we think mean something mean absolutely nothing. Celebrities sometimes do weird shit to cover up things or to keep peoples attention away from things they don’t want talked about. If it is PR, to me it seems like it would be coming from Kylie’s side and not Timothee’s side.

My week in movies

Sunday: All of Us Strangers - You all know how I feel about it.

Tuesday: Late Night with the Devil - This was so mid and not scary at all. It was predictable at every turn. There's nothing beyond the log line, so there's nothing to say. No deviation. No depth. Spent only $5 at least. I'm puzzled by the hype. It was a period piece that felt like it was from a bygone era in a stale way, like it was actually made in the 70s and not in a self-aware "this is a homage" or "wink wink this is camp" way.

Wednesday: Dune 2 - Everyone urged me to watch it regardless of how I felt about the first movie or if I watched it (I did), from film lovers to casual viewers, sci-fi fans to people who aren't in it. I was hoping that it would be more fun. It was a bore fest with flat, hackneyed writing and lackluster acting (Timothee and Zendaya have no charisma or chemistry lol, and you got rid of the one intriguing actor/character? Okay). But it was stunning visually, and the craftsmanship is unbelievable. Mostly came for Villineuve, but I'm baffled at the hype. Another story that felt like it was from a bygone era in a bad way because of the writing (you can very much tell Dune is a product of its time), and I'm convinced that had it not been for such a talented director at its helm, it would be glaringly obvious that this isn't as good as people make it out to be.

Today: Monkey Man - Finally, after two disappointing movies, I ended the week with a fun one. Very average revenge story with little substance writing-wise, but DEV! Wow! The frenetic energy, confidence in composition, slick shots, fabulous music choices, gripping action that felt very Korean (and other influences. I like that I could tell Dev studied a variety of sources in a way that didn't feel a terrible pastiche). Super happy that this got a theatrical release. Thanks for saving it from streaming, Jordan Peele, because look, I'm of the opinion that people should be able to watch movies however they can, but this deserved to be on the big screen and it wouldn't be the same at home. Go support Dev's directorial debut! Not perfect and again, the writing isn't strong even for a movie that doesn't aim to be groundbreaking, but I'm excited to see what's next for Dev as a director.

YO my two favorite characters are her Aunt and HIS mom, they're such good humans and so fucking strong characteristically. (lol just read you adore the auntie too, we are on the same wavelength for this drama)

I dislike Haein's mom so much; nothing can redeem her for me. Haein just forgave her, and I pointedly ignored the whole scene, it is not her job to make her mother feel better for being shitty to her.
