those first couple weeks after escaping a time loop have gotta be disorienting as all fuck. all those little cues that used to tell you what's about to happen are now triggers that cause you to brace for something that isn't coming. you have to relearn the permanence of death -- hell, you have reacquaint yourself with the entire concept of finality altogether. everything keeps changing but it never changes back and you keep having to remind yourself that this is normal. "it won't reset anymore," you echo to yourself, over and over and over, like a broken record, like you're still trapped in a loop, like someone who escaped the time loop but was doomed to bring it into the future with them

james gets the opportunity to talk to his older, 21 year old, self and at fifteen he's so excited trying to get information out of him (who will win in Quidditch, if he ever gets to be with Lily, or if he gets to go pro in Quidditch) and his future self doesn't tell him anything of substance of course, he's not even sure if he can but the one thing his older self tells him is "stay away from regulus"

james is confused why of all the things he could tell him he tells him to stay away from sirius' little brother but he agrees to stay away... but then he keeps running into regulus everywhere. he tries to get in contact with his older self and they talk every once and a while his older self tells him to spend more time with his parents, and his friends, to which james does but regulus always remains a distant figure as time goes on and james starts talking to regulus more he can't help but want to talk to him he wants to be around him

one night they're alone in the astronomy tower and regulus looks so fucking pretty and he can't help it he's followed every other piece of advice his older self gave him but he can't do this regulus is so pretty and his eyes are shining in the moonlight and he kisses him for the first time and it feels like a whirlwind... it feels right

he talks to his older self again tail between his legs in shame as he confesses what he did and he begs his older self to tell him why he can't be with him why out of all the things is this what he told him to prevent and his older self tells him about the loss he feels, and the grief of losing regulus after barely having him.

james decides he doesn't care he decides he'd rather take the love he decides he can change fate he can change their destiny... but he can't and the loss of regulus hits him until he can't breathe... he doesn't breathe for years and it hits him again, a second time, and he swears his heart is torn out of his chest

he couldn't take being without regulus, but can't take losing him either

i’m craving timeloop cherik stuff

full on groundhog day type timeloop on the day they go to Cuba but instead of Erik in the loop it’s Charles

so imagine Charles passing out on the beach, with no feelings in his legs, to waking up in his bed in the mansion with his legs fully working, no wound on his back and both Raven and Erik still there

what would make this interesting is if cherik isn’t in a relationship yet

so Charles has to go full Bill Murray with this. Making sure the day ends perfectly in his favor while also getting Erik to act on his feelings without forcing him to do so

imagine the amount of failed attempts he would’ve made that pushes him to just kill himself in front of everyone if he makes a tiny mistake 😭

Bill Murray sure had a lot more ground to work on with his timeloop. Charles has to relive the same battle every single day, he doesn’t get to become the town favorite and win the girl/Erik at the end of the day 😭

i mean he still “wins” Erik but not in the same way Bill Murray does 💔

i feel like he would’ve tried to just go with Erik at the end but the timeloop only wants this to end up going Charles’s way for everything 😭

uhh anyway probably happy ending with everyone safe and sound at the mansion with cherik now together and Shaw is now dead

imagine the timeloop still wants Charles to get paralyzed so he has to purposely get himself shot in the back

damn imagine how many tries that would take 😭 he keeps getting shot anywhere else but his spine

idk i just don’t want it to be a ‘fix-it’ where it treats Charles’s disability like its a punishment or something that needs to be prevented

A movie was made about the creation of Kung-fu Panda. Apparently, Po was a real guy and there was a stable time loop going on to ensure that the movies would get made. It was also Christmas, for some reason.
