ok ok here's some lil fun facts abt the party's craft skills:

All of Celest's Craft Skills are named after tarot cards. Her default group is The High Priestess (Examine), The Magician (Default Paper attack), Strength (party attack buff), and Wheel of Fortune (a randomized skip, gives turn to another party member and boosts their crit chance). a lot of her skills increase crit chance and mainly she works as a more direct fighter/support character, with a heavy focus on accuracy

Orion's crafts all have an associated origami. Each time he uses a craft skill he folds the associated origami and imbues it with craft. His defaults are Papercut (WHEEZE. Default paper attack), Rabbit (Attack speed buff), Tiger (attack buff), and turtle (defense buff). most of his craft skills are buffs for the party.

Himawari's level is almost double of the rest of the party's and he has a lot more craft skills as a result. they also vary depending on what weapon or craft type he's using. his defaults are Strike (basic rock attack), whirlwind strikes (all enemy rock attack) and Cloaked Shield (defense for one ally, essentially works the same as mirabelle's shields). the names of the later more powerful crafts are inspired by demon slayer according to @dasnercaret.

Haruka works the same as Bonnie, serving as a support gimmick and not really having an active combat role until the very last fight due to...... extraneous circumstances. however, her randomized crafts are TAKE THIS!!! (kicks her tenmari at the enemy and bonks them for a lil bit of damage), Oops (misses), Look Out! (speed buff), Stay Back! (defense buff), Rest Up! (heals a party member for 30% of their health), and I'll Help! (heals all party members for 10% of their health. after friend quest TAKE BACK!!! gets a boost kind of like bonnie's.

We have three unique status effects: STUN, TRANCE, and HYPNOSIS. STUN skips the affected party member's turn; TRANCE acts similarly to SLOW; and HYPNOSIS places them into a sleep kind of like time freeze. there are items and counters to these though, including the dream charm that Celest gets from Himawari, which has the unintentional makes her immune to TRANCE.

so uh. to answer some questions some of you probably have:

is ouroboros coming back soon?

ouroboros is put on hold for now. because of just a lack of motivation on that front and. this oc project. y'all can blame @dasnercaret /SILLY

so what the hell have you been doing for like six months?

literally single-mindedly devoting all of my creative energy to ocs. i have spent probably 100+ hours writing/drawing/talking about/thinking about these idiots. i sold my soul to the oc gods and they gifted me infinite motivation :) ....knock on wood

what is this about ocs?

This is a passion project shared by @biblicallyaccuratecrow, @dasnercaret, @scramblecat, and @aquakirb on tumblr. It's messy and it's so far disconnected from canon at this point that it's got it's own worldbuilding tab, but it's ours and we love it.  There's not much in the way of an exact start to this mess (I, for instance, was a late addition and created this website to keep track of the insane amount of lore we were and still are churning out).

...can we see the ocs?

i compel you to look at the fruit of our labor. six months of staring at these blorbos until my eyes bleed means that I have a considerable stash of content for them, including but not limited to;

A compilation file (not updated to recent months works) that is currently at 86,966 words

A single google document dedicated to celest alone that has 109,277 words

a timeline consisting of a precanon, canon, and postcanon sections, each with individual arcs and branches

at least 8 AUs of our own fuckin characters. including a pokemon au, a college au, a vampire au, and a few bad end aus

17 individual playlists consisting of both character-based casual playlists and instrumental thematic tracks

a (private) lore compendium website that is regularly updated; includes character stats, Craft Skills, Equipment, Weapons, and several pages worth of worldbuilding related to Ka Bue

hundreds of hours of my lifespan

so! i'm gonna show you some of the stuff! that i've been doing! daily for hours on end! i cannot remember the last time i didnt at least think about these guys once a day! send help!

ornithomancy is the ship name we gave to the Secret Third Thing that is Himawari and Celest's relationship. The sheer magnitude of doodles of them being unbearably adorable warrants its own post, to be honest.

honestly, not even they know what's up between them? they're both acespec– Celest specifically is some flavor of demiromantic and is uncomfortable with the concept of calling their relationship romantic, and himi is demisexual– and both complete idiots when it comes to any form of emotional intelligence. kind of like the base ISAT group, the bonds aren’t labelled explicitly in the conventional familial manner, but the sentiment of it is the same. when stuff that's traditionally romantic things do pop up between them the context is more about the need for intimacy and a way to deepen emotional connection rather than a romantic display. they actually do get bonded in postcanon, but like. five years after because– AFFECTIONATELY– they're SO BLINDING SLOW. i think about the specifics of their relationship a normal amount.

tldr: himawari and celest is that "couple" who everyone thinks is dating because they do more intimate stuff. really they're just two idiots in a qpr(?) and have been touch starved for years.
