Do you think it's weird that mickey makes me feel like gender envy to a point? I've always gone back and forth on gender identity. The majority of my life I've been fine and felt like myself as my birth gender (female) I went through a period of time for a few years where I identified as non-binary, and then that didn't feel right anymore and I just kinda fell back into presenting as female, and I've been okay with that. But ever since finding shameless I have realized how much I am like mickey, and I find myself picking up mannerisms from him and when I dress more like masculine or androgynous, I am incredibly happy. But I'm also still happy presenting as female like 98% of the time???? I'm so very confused lol I use she/her pronouns, but I wouldn't be offended is I was referred to with they/them either. Does any of this even make sense? Wah sorry to ramble in your messages lol.

Second, I don’t think it’s weird! And it does make sense!

Something I think that everyone should know is that gender and sexuality can be very fluid, and sometimes you might just have the wrong label for the same feeling or have that feeling change over time. For example, there was a time I was a lesbian. I didn’t think I was one and was confused, there was a point in time where I was a woman who liked other woman! And somehow I reached the opposite end of the spectrum, a gay guy who likes other guys! On the other hand, I thought I was bi when I later realized I was ace, because “oh equal attraction” but zero attraction is not the same as equal, for me, anyway. I do hope that makes sense.

You gender presentation and expression are not the same as your gender itself, which both makes it easier and infinitely more confusing. Sometimes it’s an indicator of who you are, and sometimes you’re just gender nonconforming and enjoy different presentations, and both are valid! And your presentation doesn’t have to match your gender itself! You can present extremely feminine, pass as a woman, and use they/them or he/him! Or as masculine as you want and pass as a male and use she/her!

Also! You can be several things! You can be both! Or multiple! Sometimes it’s complicated! You can be a guy who’s a lesbian! Or a girl who’s a gay guy! Or some other infinitely nuanced thing! Gender and sexuality contain multitudes! You can be two “contradictory” things!

If that’s something that appeals to you, I’d suggest reading about drag queens and butch lesbians more! And drag kings! I can find some things for you, if you’d like

To me, pronouns were the easiest but most time consuming thing to figure out. I just, switched between some amount for a few months and took note of how what made me feel. It’s ok when people casually refer to me with they/them or she/her, if they don’t know me it doesn’t really bother me, but well I’ve been out for five or so years and I still get super excited when someone calls me “he” or uses my name. And well, no experience is universal.

Also!! Perhaps look into pronouns behind the trinary! Have fun! You can make whatever pronouns you want! I love and will support neopronouns until the day I die! And nounself pronouns! Once you stop looking for cishet approval, you’ll feel a lot better! I love xe/xem! It’s comfortable! You’re also allowed to have only certain people use certain things for you! I love using it/it’s! But well, only when queer people do it! Especially trans! Because there’s that knowledge of knowing they understand to some degree, shared experiences and a deeper understanding of gender.

Gender euphoria might feel different for everyone, for me it’s very giddy and excited and generally !!! For others, I could imagine it as coming home after a long day or something comforting, your favorite sweater.

There’s the age old problem of not knowing if it’s gender envy or attraction, I’ve decided to ignore that for me because my gender and sexuality are so tied together? Like my gender IS gay guy and faggot yk? It’s just infinitely Queer, and my queerness is very radical to me

I don’t know the right words to explain it, besides it’ll just feel right and you’ll just know it eventually. It just Feels Right in my bones to be a trans masc genderqueer gay guy, and not a masculine straight girl.

Please please please don’t forget you can change it however much you want, forever. There is no limit!! I’m giving you permission to play fuck around and find out as much you want or feel the need to!

summary: after months of flirting, your friends take matters into their own hands and dared you to do a tiktok trend.

it had been months and months of flirting between you and xavier thorpe. consistent, unending, raw flirting. this included the batting of eyelashes, shoving of arms, longing stares, buying of gifts... everything. the whole shebang.

and god, were enid, ajax and wednesday tired of it. wednesday constantly wanted to claw her own eyes out when she saw you. enid thought it was cute the first two months, but after that she was only confused as to why you would never make it official. and ajax would just tease the two of you. he voiced his concerns with xavier, occasionally with you, but mostly with xavier. he would mostly talk about how dumb he was to not just ask you out or make it official.

so, as enid was scrolling through tiktok, she stumbled upon a certain video of two friends... or mayabe they were more? either way, they were sitting in front of each other, and each one moved closer to the other. the premise was whoever breaks the tension and kisses the other loses, she guessed?

regardless, there was tension and there was a kiss and that is exactly what needs to happen with you and xavier in order to put everyone out of their misery.

so, she sent the tiktok to ajax and wednesday, the message reading:

weregirl: OMG! we've got to get them to do this! they'd totally admit everything!

middleoftheweek: this is repulsive to watch, but i hope it will be worth it as long as they get whatever they need to out of their system

and just like that... the game was afoot.

"dude," ajax was laughing at the lunch table. you had thrown your legs over xavier's lap, your head resting on his shoulder as he played with your hair. "there's this new thing i saw online the other day. enid sent it to me, and i doubt you and y/n would be able to do it," ajax chuckled as he looked towards enid.

"oh, definitely not," enid shook her head exaggeratedly. "they'd never be able to do it."

"do what?" xavier spoke up as he took a bite of your sandwich.

"deal!" both you and xavier looked at each other, giving each other a high five that only resulted in your hands holding.

later that night, you and xavier had retreated to his shed as he painted before they sent you the video you had to recreate.

"seriously?" you scoffed. "they're just sitting there looking at each other with music playing," you looked at xavier as the video played.

"wait," he pointed at the screen. "they're like inching closer to each other. like one does and then the other."

"but why?" you got your answer less than thirty seconds later. "oh..." you glanced at xavier, who bit his lower lip before glancing at you with a smile.

"i never back down from a dare," xavier shrugged as he looked at you.

you nodded, "neither do i."

after setting up the camera with the video on the three-minute setting, about to start recording. you were sitting on the mattress that you had both smuggled in his shed, the one that used to be rowans before... well. yea. both sitting across from each other, your legs were overlapped with each other's. then, the music started playing.

at first you were both smiling, giggling, even. you inched closer to his face first, around 10 seconds after the music started. your faces seemed closer than they ever were before, and that's when the smiles faded and the tension built.

he reached around you and pulled you on top of his lap for his move. the longer this went on, the more it felt like a game of chess, only physical. you swore you could see every shade of green littering his irises. his cologne somehow radiated around you. you made the mistake of looking at his lips, curiosity getting the better of you. he was gently biting his lower lip. it was almost as if he wanted you to kiss it better.

then, you placed your hand on the lower side of his face, nearer to his neck. you could feel his pulse rate picking up. it was exciting to see what kind of power you had over him. you could now feel the way you affected him. now, you saw as his eyes went to your lips which only made you smirk that much more.

he used both of his hands to bring your face right in front of his. he was everywhere. to your side, you would see his hands. his hands took up nearly your entire face, and you loved the way they felt against your skin. part of you never wanted them to leave. you could nudge his nose with your own if you even slightly moved. you were getting close to losing this whole game. you wouldn't. you couldn't.

you tilted your head to the left, bringing your lips closer to his own but not touching. you were so close you could practically breathe in each other's air. you could feel his pulse pick up once more before you licked your lips, you felt his chuckle radiating around your head. but when you looked in his eyes you felt something totally different. it was heavier. it was more.

then, with a mumble, "screw it," he pulled your face into his own, kissing you with all the tension he had built up over not just the past two minutes, but from the past months of doing nothing.

your hand moved up to his hair, running through it like you had so many times. in this context, though, your hand running through his hair was so, so much different. it was much more intimate.

you let his tongue into your mouth happily, nearly breaking the kiss with how big of a grin you had on your face. one of his hands moved to your waist, wrapping around you like the warmest hug you've ever had. your other hand was holding the hand still on your face. you meant it when you said you never wanted them to leave.

truth be told, you never wanted him to leave. you never wanted to stop kissing him. you've wanted to for months on end, but you were too scared of being rejected. you thought he was joking about all of the flirting sometimes. the touches, everything. but this kiss felt more real than time.

A/N: This was so much fun to write lol I had so many ideas - halloween is my favorite holiday so I was so excited to see this request. I made it a bit niche by adding that the reader is from NZ like me where we don't really tend to celebrate it which explains why she goes crazy :) also featuring debby and josh bc we luv them! can't wait to see the next request!

It had taken everything in me to stay home while the boys were touring in October. Tyler knew how much I loved Fall and Halloween—it had become our thing. Every year, we’d transform our house into a spooky wonderland, with pumpkins lining the porch, fog machines hidden in the bushes, and skeletons dangling from the eaves. No matter how hard we tried to adjust the schedule, this time, it just wasn’t possible. The best he could do was promise we’d be home by October 14th, just in time to celebrate. But in the meantime, I was determined to bring Halloween with me, no matter where we were. By the time October rolled around, we were only a few weeks away from the end of the American leg of The Clancy Tour, and I was itching to dive into the spooky season. Debby, always my partner in crime, knew exactly what I needed. That morning, we woke up early, leaving Tyler fast asleep, and made our way to Target.

“Oh my god, look at all this!” I practically squealed as we entered the Halloween section, grabbing a red basket and darting toward the decorations. “This is like… heaven. We don’t have anything like this back home!”

Growing up in New Zealand, Halloween had never been a big deal, so the over-the-top decorations in American stores still blew my mind. There were aisles of fake skeletons, glowing ghosts, fog machines, and everything in between. It was like stepping into my dream version of Halloween.

Debby chuckled, shaking her head. “I still don’t get how you survived so many years without a proper Halloween, Y/N.”

“I have no idea,” I replied, pressing every button on the animatronic toys until they were all blinking, buzzing, and screeching. Halloween had become a serious obsession for me. The first year I started dating Tyler, Debby and Josh invited me to their legendary Halloween party, and ever since, I was hooked. Now I talked about the holiday year-round, planning decorations and themes months in advance.

“We should totally make the buses look haunted,” I said, grabbing a couple bags of fake spiderwebs and tossing them into the basket. “We could go all out.”

“We used these last time around Josh’s drum kit, and it looked amazing. He told me to pick up more. I’m sure you can find some use for them on your bus.”

Before long, our baskets were overflowing with decorations—candy corn, ghost window gels, pumpkin stickers, and all the spooky essentials. The thought of surprising—and slightly annoying—Tyler with a fully decorated haunted bus made me feel like a kid again. I was practically buzzing with excitement as we headed back, already plotting out how to turn our bus into a Halloween wonderland.

When we got back, Tyler was still fast asleep, so I tiptoed into the bus, trying not to wake him. I got straight to work, channeling my inner Halloween decorator. “You have no idea what’s coming,” I teased, winking as he disappeared into the bathroom.

Once he was gone, I pulled out the rest of the decorations Debby and I had picked up and headed to the venue. Debby and Josh were already there, decorating Josh’s drum kit with the orange fairy lights, while I set to work sticking pumpkin stickers across Tyler’s bass and even sneaking a few onto the piano keys. We scattered more fake spiders and webs throughout the dressing rooms and across the arena, adding to the overall spooky vibe. But no matter how much he tried to act annoyed, I could tell he was secretly enjoying the chaos. As the afternoon wore on, the whole crew had gotten into the Halloween spirit. Josh was drumming with little skeletons dangling from his kit, Debby was sticking glow-in-the-dark bats onto his drumsticks, and even the crew had added their own decorations to equipment cases and dressing room doors.

Tyler, meanwhile, was wandering the venue with a bemused expression, fake spiderwebs clinging to his jacket and tiny pumpkins stuck to his guitar case. I had to stifle a laugh when I saw a bright green ghost sticker on his shoulder that he hadn’t noticed yet.

so like....to me rosekiller has less to do with sexism and more to do with the way that tiktok engages with fanfic through this framework of consumer economy. and so continuing to interact w it through the framework of a consumer economy is just gonna perpetuate the issues u are ostensibly trying to critique.

Not only sexually assaulting detainees, but a month or so ago they sexually assaulted a Palestinian man to death. The video surfaced, they did it in a room full of other detainees, and when they were going to be arrested Israelis rioted in the streets to free them, and claimed it was basically their right to rape other human beings to death.

Since then I’ve seen videos of the IDF doing a “TikTok trend” of posing in front of bombs going off in the background, a video of a burning house with a screaming Palestinian woman and crying baby inside and the Israeli who lit the fire singing as he records, a podcast called Two Nice Jewish Boys where they both claim to speak on behalf of all Israelis when they say if they had a button they’d wipe Gaza off the map and they “don’t give a fuck” about the children, a video of a man and pregnant woman that had been strung up by their necks outside of a building by the IDF, the murder and harassment in the West Bank where they cannot cry “Hamas.” And just yesterday video of Israelis taking nice little family boat tours to watch the skyline lit up by bombs. They’re taking their children on a family gathering to watch other children being murdered. These families are being considered first settlers for the “real estate” in Gaza that they’ve destroyed and will further colonize. Almost all Israelis serve in the IDF, it is a requirement unless you’re exempt from conscription, so to my mind that makes them culpable. Many have dual citizenship, I know a person who used to bounce back and forth from NY to Israel bc he served in the IDF. These people are doing the most horrendous shit imaginable and then coming home to your neighborhoods. And no, this has absolutely nothing to do with being Jewish and everything to do with racism and a sociopathic degree of entitlement via Zionism and that includes Christian Zionism because they are funding this shit, they are at the heart of our government like a malignant tumor.

It’s a year later and I still cannot believe this is life, I cannot believe there is an entire country filled with grandparents, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters who are largely content with a million children, their neighbors, being starved and being maimed at their hand, I cannot believe the people in this country fighting for Israel’s “right” to do so, I cannot believe we share the planet with people like this. Like there is still something somehow surviving in me that does not want to believe this. This thing just gnaws at me and there’s this idea many people have like then why care, why watch such disturbing things, why make yourself uncomfortable by bearing witness to the suffering of others. Can you imagine being in that situation with your babies and your loved ones and the entire world turning its back on you. Because that’s what they’ve received for 80 years already, it’s about time we all got uncomfortable with the unacceptable.

TikTok - 50/50 for me. half are perfectly fine and the other half.... (then again, I don't use the platform very much.. apparently there's been discourse about a floptok mesmerizer cover/remix thing?? like come on we're really getting angry about this?? and the whole rabbit hole thing...) and there are some other problematic things I've seen that I am not getting into

Twitter - the absolute worst. do I have to say anything else (then again I don't really go on there anymore. I only go on there for new event stuff and that gets on other platforms fast enough)
