Hi, hello! A couple of caveats before I get into it: I've only been into the internet at large since ~2018, and I haven't been as into fanfiction and such as I once was. BUT I was always into A/B/O and it's adjacent tropes, so I guess it balances out.
(read more because this turned out LONG)
Anyway, I got into Omegaverse mainly through an adjacent trope in the Harry Potter fandom - the creature!fic trope, I'm not sure if it's actually an off-shoot of A/B/O, but it has very similar utilization. I didn't read very many HP fics that were specifically A/B/O, but it was definitely the first place I came across it.
As far as trends go, I've personally noticed a lot more exploration of 'non-traditional' omegaverse dynamics - things that engage with the conventions of A/B/O on a genuine level and explore subverting those tropes. Plus, more interest in pack dynamics and the intersection of IRL identities with the trope of Omegaverse (i.e., what does it mean to be gay in the Omegaverse? To be trans?) Obviously you still get your usual pwp and such, but there's been a lot of diversification in how people approach and use the typical tropes, in the same way as any fandom or fiction niche evolves.
Personally, I'm most drawn to pack dynamics and the idea of bonding/courting. The smutty bits are fun and all, but it's much more interesting to see how people apply pack and mate dynamics (like, say, the Avengers as a pack). But I also just find the worldbuilding of a good A/B/O 'verse engaging on its own, especially on a social and societal level. I was actually briefly in the A/B/O rp side of tiktok in like, 2020-21. It was fun to engage with, and I made a few friends that I still think of fondly, even if we don't talk much anymore.
Omegaverse is pretty par for the course, as far as my tastes in tropes go - I'm an unabashed monsterfucker/lover, really enjoy weird biology in fantasy, and I'm a sucker for found family, as well as soulmate/fated mate stuff. Over all, Omegaverse is very much a sandbox I enjoy being in, even if I haven't taken a crack at writing anything for it. That all applies as my favorite aspects about it, too. When it comes to criticisms, though, there's a few - it really facilitates the 'woobification' of male characters that fandom is prone to, especially in mlm ships, and there's a level of baked in misogyny that still lingers. Fandom has a habit of sidelining or outright villanizing female characters in favor of male ships, and the lens of A/B/O makes it all the easier for those tendencies to be justified or ignored. (which is why wlw A/B/O stuff is so hard to find, aside from general lack of wlw fic overall in certain fandoms) Omegaverse is definitely a bit of a 'boys club' in as far as the actual fics go. I also tend to avoid things with a heavy emphasis on pregnancy/having kids out of personal preference, which makes certain sections of Omegaverse a bit of a minefield.
One thing I would personally want the general public to know is that it is not exclusively a kink thing. Yes, there is a LOT of pure smut, and if you go looking you'll find all kinds of weird stuff (personally, I love the weird stuff, keeps things interesting) but there is non-explicit stuff, and a lot of the people I've spoken to who are into or were into A/B/O are into the PG stuff just as much, if not more than the R-rated stuff.
(also, you're welcome to leave my url visible if you use this! I'm pretty openly into this stuff lol)
[edited to add / to a/b/o bc the other way is a slur]
Omegaverse readers & writers!! I want to hear from you!!!
Firstly — Yes — I have already done a lot of research. I don’t need the basics explained to me or the fact that it is an incredibly diverse genre with examples good writing, bad writing, good social commentary, bad social commentary, expansive thoughtful worldbulding, raunchy porn without plot, and everything in between.
What I’m looking for with this post is personal experiences and opinions from people who read/ write this content since I am not one. Feel free to link any fics that exemplify what you’re talking about.
you can write as much or as little as you like, answer as many or as few of the questions as you like:
What fandom introduced you to omegaverse?
What trends and developments have you noticed as the genre has grown over the past 14-ish years?
what initially intrigued you about it?
Are there similar genres, tropes, etc, that you also enjoy? (ie. werewolf or other supernatural romance, science fiction which explores alternative biology) basically, how does omegaverse fit into your wider literary tastes?
what do enjoy most about it?
what are some elements you avoid or are critical of?
Any specifics or nuances you want the non-omegaverse reading public to know about
In case anyone is coming across this post without knowing who i am — Hi! I’m a youtuber and I make videos about online subculture, fandom, and such.
Your comment on this post may be read aloud in an upcoming video!! Please specify if you would like me to censor your url or leave it visible.
#omegaverse#a/b/o#quils bullshit#genuinely genuinely love A/B/O stuff#the tiktok a/b/o rp stuff was a fun experience#and something I might elaborate on at some point#I went and logged back onto my ff.net and wattpad accounts for this#please appreciate my sacrifice

Could you pleaseee do a Paul x reader where reader is like super pregnant and hungry all the time and eats the most random stuff and the pack makes fun of her until Paul gets fed up and snaps at them?
Thank you! I love your writing🖤♥️
Emily places the chocolate dipped pickles in front of you. It's the snack you asked for. Everyone else around the table is eating sandwiches and chips. Paul is sitting next to you and smiles down at your plate.
"The boy is hungry for some chocolate, huh?" Paul brings a hand down to your big big bump.
You place your hand on his and smile at him. "Whatever baby wants I have to eat it." You giggle.
"That looks DISGUSTING!" Jared snorts.
Kim slaps his hand. "Hush." She demands.
He instantly straightens up and nods.
You chuckle at him and then lift a pickle and DEVOUR! The dinner was good! After eating your pickles, you topped it off with a toasted sandwich. Mhmmm!
You and Paul settle into bed. You lay in your body pillow for pregnant peeps. Your belly is in cloud heaven. Paul softly rubs your back, making circles. You hum in peace and fall into slumber.
----
You walk inside the Uley house. You take small steps and keep a hand on your stomach. You make it at the table and sit down. Emily is also sitting at the table. The wolves are training outside. You huff out a breath and relax as best as you can.
"Sweet girl, you hungry?" Emily grabs your wrist.
"Yes. Always." You giggle.
"What's the baby boy want right now?" She asks, standing up and going to the fridge.
You think for a moment. But, then you know. "Emily, do you have croissants? Oh! And chocolate syrup?"
"Mhmm."
"Can I have three of them with eggs and chocolate syrup on the eggs." The baby kicks your side and you hiss. "I hear ya, son. I think he's excited about this." You laugh.
Emily laughs and starts making your food. "Tell him to give the waitress just a few minutes."
You keep conversation with Emily while she makes your food. The pack walks inside, and they're all still too hyper after all of that training. It's like they're never worn out! They take their seats, and Sam walks to Emily, kissing her cheek. Paul sits beside you and grabs your knee.
"How was it out there?" You look at Paul.
"Wonderful. Thanks for asking." Embry winks.
"Sorry, boys! I don't have your food ready. Baby comes first." She says sternly, pointing at them.
They all nod their heads and mumble, "Yes ma'am."
Paul kisses your cheek and then grabs your chin and presses his lips on yours. "How's momma?" He places his forehead on yours.
"Mm, wonderful. Thanks for asking." You copy Embry.
"Hey, hey. Don't steal my lines, man. They're copyrighted." He laughs.
Emily walks up to the table and places your food in front of you! It smells so freaking good. The croissants and eggs and chocolate syrup all over it.
"Eugh." Quil says.
"Your son's weird for liking this stuff." Jared looks at Paul.
"No, the worst one is movie night when she freaking ate pizza dipped in pickle juice with syrup on it." Embry gags.
You sigh in annoyance. Your feelings aren't hurt because you know that they don't get it. You just want them to shut up about it for once. But before you can say something, Paul's on it.
He slams his hands on the table, which makes everyone jump. He stands out of the chair. "Guys, shut the fuck up! Seriously. You wish you could have the power of a woman and carry life." He yells.
They all have wide eyes and stare at him.
"If you continue with your bullshit, I will hurt all of you. Leave my girl alone. Now." He demands.
Sam hisses in the background. "He should've been alpha." He chuckles.
You awkwardly sit there and then slowly smile. "Cool. May I eat now?" You look at all of the guys.
They nod their heads, ashamed.
Emily set their plates in front of them. "You're all immature. Let the woman take care of her baby. If you continue, Paul has every right to bite you. Also, no more lunches from me."
They all gasp.
"Sam!" Quil says.
Sam raises his hands up. "Shouldn't have been dicks."

Pt2 of rewind
your wish is my command 🙂↕️ hope you enjoy :)
rewind part 2 - paul x reader
The drive home was silent as Paul drove on the road. Your arms were crossed, silently looking out the window. You felt embarrassed, you felt too seen, and you didn’t like it at all. Paul tried to kiss you when you both made it in the house but you blatantly refused. His hurt facial expression almost made you crumble but that’s how you felt when the private moment between you two was shown to a group of individuals.
Paul was pissed. He was mostly pissed at himself for allowing his thoughts to leak out. He usually did good by blocking out his thoughts from his pack brothers. They ruined it for him. You didn’t even want to cuddle when nighttime fell.
“Fucking idiots.” Paul venomously cursed them in their head and couldn’t wait until patrol the next day.
Paul purposely came late. He tried his best to mend whatever mood you were in but you played him off and went to work. Sam was there, agitated and irritated by Paul’s tardiness.
“You have to be on time. You know this.” he says to him.
Paul doesn’t even wait before he attacks him first. Snarling and biting at his throat. Sam couldn’t process the fight with Paul’s thoughts rewinding the moments of his imprint crying and the other imprints throwing accusations at you. Jared tried to move him off of Sam, and Paul’s anger only transferred to Jared.
“Paul, chill out!” Sam orders, trying not to let it go too far. Paul snarled, upset that he has to submit to such orders.
“I fucking hate all of you!” Paul says in retaliation, circling around them menacingly, snapping his jaw at them all. He wanted to fight all of them.
“It was an accident. Her name just slipped.” Jacob says, trying to have some type of understanding.
“What a bullshit excuse.” Leah says, showing her sharp teeth, to back Paul up.
“Fuck this.” Paul says and phases out before he could hear the order. As he walks back home, he hears a long howl coming from a far distance. He decides to go where the noise took place. He peered down at the confused, lone wolf. He phases in, trying to let him know that he's safe.
"What's your name?" Paul asks the new wolf that's walking in circles, breaking their panicked thoughts.
"Oh God, I can hear voices in my head?" it answered back, not even noticing Paul's wolf there with him.
"You're safe. Look, you're safe." Paul says and nudges the newly transformed wolf. The wolf calms down a bit and meekly speaks his name. Paul leads them back to the pack, making all of the pack surprised.
Everybody introduces themselves, leading the new wolf back to Sam's place. They collectively coach the new wolf on how to return back to his human form. Sam grabs the pair of scissors and sits him in a chair.
The boy looks at the scissors in such horror, looking bug eyed at Sam. "What are you doing?" he asks.
"I have to, or else your fur will be matted every time you shift." Sam explains.
"I'll deal with washing it, just please." he whispers. Sam sets the scissors down and Emily walks in, taking a double take at the boy sitting at the table.
"Hey, Em. Did you cook anything?" Sam asks as he moves in to embrace her but she moves away, fixing her something to drink. "Nope." she answers back and all of the boy's faces fall. Leah snickers at this. Emily rewards the new boy with a smile, "You must be hungry." she coos at him. The boy softens up at Emily's good nature and nods.
"We’re hungry too!" Quil says, looking in disbelief at the displayed favoritism.
"Hungry? Hmm, I would've thought thirsty." Emily says and Leah cackles again, enjoying every moment of their disappointment. Leah already ate before patrol.
The boy eats Emily's food without shame, she only made enough for him.
Sam gets up, "I guess we'll go to a diner instead."
"You do just that." Emily says sweetly.
Emily calls all of you to let you know that there's a new wolf.
"Perfect." you say to her.
A beach day of course happened and you all got to meet him. He wasn't a bad looking guy, his long beautiful hair that he kept was a bonus as well. You introduced yourself, knowing for sure that he would get the same lovesick eyes that every other guy has gotten. You make sure to sit next to him, smiling at him and looking him deeply in the eye. The dude was whipped. Paul was pissed. He kept giving you hints to speak alone but you acted completely oblivious.
The new wolf accepted your invitation to go swimming in the ocean, you walked slowly on the sand towards the water and he didn't mind. He got to check you out. You made sure to turn around and give him a smile that made him almost drop to his knees.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" he asks, as he's close to you when the water is knee deep. You were driving him wild, savoring the moments of you giving him this much attention. You shrug and give an innocent smile as you cup some water in your hands and let it pour over your body. He almost drooled.
"Yeah, and it's me." Paul's loud, deep voice says and it almost made both of you jump, you didn't notice him there, but you were glad he heard everything. Paul gives you an angry look but you didn't pay it any mind.
Taking the boy's arm, leading him further into the water. The guy was hypnotized.
Back on shore after the splashing session with you, Jacob's imprint is holding up a bottle of sunscreen. "Do you mind putting some on my back please?" she asks the new wolf, batting her eyelashes. Jacob looks over, getting angrier by the second as the boy's hands lather the sunscreen over his imprint's back.
"I love how gentle you are. Jacob is way too rough." she says and the guy beams at the compliment.
"Do you guys do cliff diving at all?" he asks all of the girls that are now huddled around him, making conversation with him. You all nod. He's enjoying every moment. The pack on the other hand is not. If they were cartoons, visible steam would come out of their ears.
At the cliffs, they watch their imprints cliff dive with the new wolf. Fearful that he will steal all of your hearts. They stomp to where everybody is.
"Can you hold my hand? I'm a bit afraid of heights." Kim says.
"How about this, I can put you on my back." he offers and Kim's eyes light up at the suggestion.
Jared watches as Kim is hanging onto him tightly, laughing and whooping in the air.
Emily promises lunch as you all walk back to her house. The pack is darting dirty looks at their new pack brother's back.
"I wish I knew how to braid my hair." the new wolf says as he ruffles his dripping wet hair that hangs around his face frame.
"I do." Emily says and she has him sitting between her legs as she sits on the couch and makes two plaits for him. Sam had to control his shaking, watching Emily run her fingers through his hair.
"We should've went skinny dipping." you say to the new pack brother as he blushes. You both were eating a sandwich at the table. You hear a growl and you turn around to see Paul, ready to pounce at any given second.
"Take it outside." Emily warns him.
"Yeah, we need to talk." he says to you, not caring you're not done with your food.
"We can talk here."
"Why would you say something like that?"
"I don't know, the rest of the pack has seen me naked. I figured he might as well get a good look while it's on my terms, before you leak out another moment." you say coldly, Paul's face softens up.
"That's not right. It was an accident." Jacob goes on to say.
You shake your head, "What's not right is saying my name while having sex with your own imprints. That's not right. You all did that." you say, giving the pack members dirty looks.
"We're sorry, Y/N." Sam says to you.
"I think it would be better if you said sorry to Emily instead." the new wolf points out.
Sam growls and steps towards him, "I think it would be better if you stay out of it."
"Leave him alone. He's right." Kim says with her hands on his shoulders.
Knowing that what they did was wrong on so many levels, each wolf pulled their imprints to the side for a private talk.
"I don't love Y/N, Emily. I love you. You're the love of my life and I fucked up. Bad," he says to her, "I'm making it up to you everyday. In fact, you don't have to cook for the pack for a while. I will do it from now on."
Emily looks up at him with a smirk, "Deal."
“Theres no one else I would rather be with other than with you Kim. I’m so sorry about what I did. I understand if you don’t forgive me.” Jared says to Kim sincerely.
“Why did you say her name?” Kim asks quietly.
“It was a stupid move. Honest. I wish I could rewind and take it back. I hurt you so bad and I wish I’ve never done it.” he says looking down.
“Am I really that rough?” Jacob asks his imprint.
“You were rough with my heart. You said her name. I don’t know if I can forgive you.” she answers back.
“It’s okay if you don’t. I don’t want you to ever experience that ever again.” he says to her and takes her hands.
“Im sorry that those fuckers said your name. I’m sorry that I accidentally thought about our intimacy. You don’t have to seek another man.” Paul says looking up at you. You look down on him with your arms cross, he was down on his knees.
“I’ll help you out. We can’t be intimate for a while.” you tell him and his heart shatters through his eyes. He slowly rises, trying to see if you would break. You didn’t. He nods, hangs his head, accepting his punishment.

Rumination
Ruminate
(v.) To think about [something] deeply
After Edward left her, Bella Swan fell apart. Desperate to try and save his eldest daughter, Charlie brings his youngest daughter to Forks to see if she can bring her sister out of her depression.
Now, y/n must try to help her sister find her way back to the light while also trying to navigate her Junior year of high school in the odd town of Forks.
Chapter Six: Hurt
Now Playing: Don’t Hurt Yourself by Beyoncé, feat. Jack White
Warnings: arguing, cursing, allusions to potentially controlling behavior?? Idk how to word it but Paul’s basically being an ass for like 90% of this sorry (he’ll get better I promise guys), miscommunication bc Paul’s emotionally constipated, Sam’s tired of his bs, reader’s tired of his bs but also on some bs 👍
Days passed. I didn’t see Paul, I hardly saw the others. Jacob was too busy catering to Bella, Embry was caring for Quil after his change, and Jared seemed afraid of getting his head ripped off anytime he even looked at me.
Emily and Sam treated me normally enough. The “enough” part comes into play when they would give me odd little looks when they thought I wasn’t looking.
Whatever. If they wanted to be weird, fine.
Roy’s was slower than it’s ever been, but Max always kept me company. He had stopped asking what was wrong, and I never brought it up. I almost felt like Bella when anything about the Cullens was mentioned. Except, unlike my sister, I didn’t break down into tears or get nauseous. I only felt angry.
Against his will, Paul had come to pick me up to take me back to Emily’s. Spitefully, I had given Max a long, lingering hug.
I knew Paul didn’t like him, and it seemed to have rubbed off on the others, too. I didn’t care. Max was my friend, and I wasn’t going to cut him out because the pack had some weird bullshit going on.
I ignore Paul as I walk to my truck, ignore him as he climbs in the bed of the truck instead of the cab, and ignore him as I start to drive.
The drive to Emily’s goes by excruciatingly slow. I’m unwilling to admit, even to myself, why that is.
I turn the truck off and go inside, not waiting for Paul. I hear that god-awful sound of his entire body popping into another shape, and he leaves for patrol.
I go into the house, slipping through the dinnertime rush in the kitchen to shower. The hot water feels good against my skin, and I had long since moved most of my things over here. Sam and Emily were happy enough to have me here, and I liked being in the house well enough, even after Paul decided to be an unbearable ass.
I slip on my pajamas and walk quietly to the kitchen to pick at leftovers. A plate had already been set out for me, to my pleasure, and I assumed Emily had done it. I eat quickly at the kitchen stove, eager to sleep. It had been a long day, and I just wanted it to be over with so I could start the weekend.
---
I woke up early to help Emily make food in the kitchen. Bella was still asleep, and the house was quiet except for the radio playing softly in the corner.
I caught my reflection in the mirror. My face was lined from sleep, the sheets creasing my cheeks and neck. My eyes were crusty, my mouth dry, and my lips slightly cracked. I sighed.
Wordlessly, I started helping Emily make eggs. She smiled at me as she began to focus on the biscuits and muffins. Making food was always quicker with another set of hands, especially when it was for boys who could out eat an army.
When we were done, I set out a plate for Bella and one for myself, putting them in the microwave to hide.
---
“You have until June, Paul.” Sam said slowly, “Then you tell her, or I do it for you.”
“You were the one that kept me from telling her in the beginning, but all of a sudden you give a shit?” Paul scoffed, anger bubbling in his chest.
Sam sighed, “That was a mistake on my part, I’ll admit it. But now your mess is interfering with the rest of us trying to go about our lives and trying to keep the Swan family safe.”
Paul stood suddenly, storming out of the house and slamming the door behind him. He didn’t need this shit right now.
Sam closed his eyes, a weary sigh exhaled from his lips. Emily put her hand on his shoulder, comforting him.
When Paul left in a rage, Jacob followed. He had been sitting outside, waiting with the rest of his brothers to be let back in.
Had he been eavesdropping? Sure, but so was everyone else, so it cancels out. Besides, it was for the benefit of the whole pack, so it’s not such a bad thing.
Jacob quickly transformed, following Paul to wherever he was going.
---
I woke up late today.
I suppose it’s not a surprise, since any time I was asleep, it was restless. I didn’t remember my dreams, but Bella said I murmured a lot in my sleep because of them.
Jacob and Paul weren’t at the house when I woke up, and Emily said that they had left the night before after Bella and I had gone to bed.
Paul’s probably only being moody. Jacob’s who I was concerned about, but whatever. They were grown enough to make their own choices and grown enough to handle themselves.
I focused most of my energy on helping Quil adjust. He was scared about all the changes, and he didn’t know what to say to his mom. He didn’t want to tell her because he didn’t want her to be put in danger because of it, and he didn’t want to risk her not believing him. I knew how he felt more than I wished I did because if Charlie’s ignorance to the… magical world? Supernatural world? Whatever.
---
Jacob and Paul didn’t come back until dinner time. Bella gave them both the plates she had saved for them as I washed the dishes.
“Paul, why don’t you help y/n put the dishes up while the rest of us clean up in here?” Jacob suggested, and I slid my eyes towards him, pinning him with a flat stare. He cleared his throat, “Uh, or maybe not.”
Paul rolled his eyes, getting up to come to the kitchen. He reached for the dish in my hand, but I pulled it away from him.
“Quit being childish, Y/n.” He grunted, reaching again for the plate. I rolled my eyes, setting it on the drying rack instead. A muscle in his jaw twitched, but he didn’t say anything.
I didn’t speak to him as I washed the dishes, and he kept his distance. The silence between us was tense, and I wouldn’t be the one to break it.
---
“Tell Max to stop bathing in that god awful cologne.” Paul ordered, his arms crossed as he leaned against my truck. I was surprised that he used Max’s name, but I didn’t mention it.
“If you’re so bothered by it, stop picking me up,” I countered, exhausted from the day and not in the mood for his bullshit.
“How about you stop rubbing on him to make a point?” He accused, and I shot him a dirty look as I pulled out of the school parking lot.
“What, I can’t hug my friends now, Paul?” I demanded, “First you try control who I’m friends with, now you’re trying to control what I do with my friends?”
“I’m trying to tell you—” He cut himself off with a rather impressive show of restraint, but he wasn’t going to get any gold stars from me.
He was silent for a long moment before he managed to grind out, “You know that he’ll be in trouble if the Redhead picks up your scent on him, and you know he can’t know anything about it, or us. You care about him, so I’m trying to help you out.”
“Victoria’s after my sister only, what does she care what I do?”
“So fucking difficult, all the time,” he muttered angrily to himself, “I can’t believe this shit.”
“Boo hoo.” I snapped tiredly, cutting the engine off and marching inside the house. Noticing the tension between us when we walked in, Sam sighed.
Embry stared for a little too long and Paul smacked the back of his head. Quil and Jared were quick to mind their own business after that.
The rest of the day was spent helping Emily cook, like usual. She had tasked me with getting some more ingredients for the soup, and I went to go get my shoes.
Paul looked up as I put on my boots, asking, “Where are you going?”
I flicked my eyes over to him, “The store for Emily. Why, should I have asked your permission first?”
Before he could respond, Sam butted in.
“Take Paul with you. The rest of us have chores, and I don’t want you to go alone, just in case.” He said, pointedly busying himself with his cleaning so he didn’t have to look at me.
“Fine.” I conceded to avoid conflict, and I slid my eyes back to Paul, “Put a shirt on. They won’t let you in without one.”
He rolled his eyes and snatched a shirt from Quil, who was folding laundry. He quickly put it on, holding his arms out and staring at me. Happy?
I wordlessly turned and went to the car.
---
The drive to the grocery store is done in silence, save for the pop music blaring quietly from the radio. He moves to turn it down. I turn it back up.
We go in and I peruse around, looking for the potatoes and corn. Paul skulks behind me, his presence alone warding off anyone who would look our way for too long.
When I find it, the corn I need is on the top shelf. I purse my lips, debating if asking Paul for help would really be worth it.
I turn to him, “I need the corn on the top shelf.”
He looks at me flatly, “Think you’re missing a word.”
With gritted teeth, I force out, “Please.”
Triumphant, he reaches up and gets the corn for me and puts it in the basket around my arm. I continue in search of the potatoes, finding them easily enough and going to check out.
I move to grab my purse to pay the cashier, but Paul reaches around me and hands a twenty to the woman, who takes it quickly and counts out our change.
---
“So,” Charlie starts, poking at the salad Bella was making him eat, “What’s the deal between you and that Paul fella, Y/n?”
I stare at my plate for a moment before looking my father in the eye, “Nothing, Dad. Why?”
“Just because you and him seem bit… tense.” He glances at Bella, and I giver her a dirty look. Traitor.
“I didn’t tell him anything about your issues with Paul!” She defends, “Jake did that on his own!”
“That furry little freak, I’m never saving him food again,” I mutter, pushing around the mashed potatoes on my plate.
“Jake’s just looking out for you, Y/n,” Charlie reasoned, “He told me that you were sore with the boy because he overstepped his boundaries because he didn’t like that Maxwell kid.”
“Dad, do we really have to talk about this?” I sigh, and he nods.
“I learned my lesson about not talking about things after that Edward boy took his toll on your sister,” he said firmly, “So we’re having family meetings about— boy troubles.”
I only stay serious until I make eye contact with Bella, who’s unable to stop herself from letting out an involuntary snicker of laughter. The two of us cackle at Charlie, and he sighs.
“Hardy-har, you two, but I’m serious,” Charlie says, “So. Who wants to go first; Bella about Jacob, or Y/n about Paul?”
Bella coughs, “What’s there to say about Jake and I? We’re only friends and—”
“I might be your old man, but I’m not so old that I don’t know about teenage love, Bella.” Charlie says, his eyebrow raised at her. I smirk as she flounders for an answer.
“Well, Jake and I just spend a lot of time together because we’re good buddies and—”
“Does he know that?” I say slyly, glancing innocently at her.
“Does Paul know he doesn’t have to be jealous of Maxwell?” Bella counters, and I scowl.
“Paul’s not jealous, he’s just an ass because he’s not getting his way.” I inform her, and she rolls her eyes.
Charlie, trying to follow, says, “Now hold on, since when was I supposed to be keeping an eye on Maxwell?”
Bella snickers and I put my head in my hands, “You don’t! Good lord, Max is just a friend!”
“Then what’s got Paul bent out of shape?” He asked, and I wanted to scream.
“Look what you’ve done now,” I groan, smacking Bella across the shoulder, “Dad, Paul’s just being pigheaded, I don’t know what’s wrong with him, and I don’t really care since he won’t tell me.”
---
“Paul,” Sam started over lunch.
“I’m getting around to it!” Paul protested grumpily, picking at his food. Quil opened his mouth to ask, but Embry stopped him with a sharp shake of his head.
“Paul,” Sam started again, “You need to talk to her.”
“And what? Get yelled at?” He shot back, a sneer on his face.
Sam sighed deeply, about to respond when Emily put her hand on his shoulder to stop him.
“Paul,” Emily said gently, “You need to explain your behavior. Without knowing why you’ve been so… agitated, Y/n thinks you’re just being an ass. You need to apologize to her and explain everything. It will help.”
“Look, I know that, okay?” Paul said, frustrated as he pushed his plate away from himself, “I’m well aware of what I need to do. But we all know what happens when Y/n and I are in the same room for more than a few minutes, especially when I try to do anything for her.”
“Yes, which is exactly why you need to explain everything and—” Emily started, stopping when Paul stood up and started to march out.
“Look, I appreciate the advice, but you aren’t telling me anything new, so both of you cut the shit.” With that, Paul slammed the door behind him and ran off into the woods.
After a long silence, Quil spoke up.
“…Can I have the rest of his food, since he’s not going to eat it?”

(Edited 1/4/25)
Ok short chapter today! What do we think??
I plan to do another chapter specifically on reader and Paul’s current relationship (or lack thereof) + adding in a scene request I got ☺️ if anyone wants to see anything specific in there lmk 😁
Anyway, then I’ll get back to the book-central plot and keep it pushing
Thanks for reading guys 🥰
ps do we like the first person or do we prefer third person?? I’m curious which people like more
Edit: again, changed some things up because I didn’t like how I initially wrote them. Thanks 💕

“I’m scared to want you.”
————
(jacob black x reader)
-chapter five- series-masterlist
word count: 2.4k
summary: time doesn’t always fix everything
warnings: awkward encounters, internal struggling with emotions, that’s really it
An: I’m going to make a tag list for the series so if you’d like to be added please comment or send it in an ask!!
————
“What do you mean I got a D?” You asked, slightly exasperated.
Edward let out a snort.
“D for Deez nu-“ he attempted to say under his breath.
“Now is not the time Edward,” you hissed. Edwards mouth immediately snapped shut, the smug look on his face disappearing at the sound of your tone. “This is bullshit, I literally looked over it like three times before turning it in,” you mumbled.
“You can always retake it,” Bella mentioned, almost bumping into someone as you veered around the corner of the school's hallway.
“Whatever, I have to warn every single underclassman to not take ap biology before doing so,” you muttered, stuffing the already crumpled paper into your jacket pocket. Light laughs were sounded from the two but you didn’t give them any mind. Pushing through the doors to enter the parking lot, you crossed your arms.
“You want help studying?” Edward asked, taking out his keys. You rolled your eyes.
“You don’t even take the class.”
“Doesn’t mean I didn’t take it before.” Quirking a brow at him, you waited for an explanation. He shrugged, “I’m just that good that they let me take it last year.”
“You scored an f on our algebra exam because you put every answer as C. Even when it wasn’t a multiple choice question.”
The boy smiled cheekily.
“I wanted to test a theory.”
“Just because the internet says c is the best answer for when you don’t know the what to put doesn’t mean it’s actually is the answer.”
He shrugged again, opening the back seat for Bella and you to put your backpacks inside. Tossing his own in, in the process.
“I know, but like I said it was a theory.”
“You make my brain hurt in ways I didn’t know was possible,” you stated, walking around the back to hop into the other side.
As the other two settled into their spots, you fastened your seatbelt and slouched into the cushion beneath you. Dragging a hand down your face you sighed.
“I’m so happy it’s Friday,” you mumbled, mostly to yourself.
Bella hummed in agreement. Silence filled the vehicle as Edward backed up and drove out of the parking lot. The soft sound of the radio being the only substitute for the absence of your voices. However even if no one was speaking you could tell their was something Bella and Edward were plotting by the way they exchanged glances across the center counsel. Bella fidgeted with her arm rest as Edward nudged her, tilting his head back in your direction.
“You’re not slick I hope you guys know that,” you announced. Together in almost unison the two tensed. Settling back in, Bella cleared her throat.
“Do you have anything going on tonight?” She asked turning in her spot to peer at you.
Hesitantly you responded, “No…” Bella bit her lip before elaborating.
“Would you wanna come with me to La Push beach tonight? Edward would just drop us off at my place but we can go to yours before hand to grab anything you need.” Twiddling her thumbs Bella’s looked at you through her lashes.
“Isn’t it gonna be cold and shit?” You asked already knowing the answer. “You hate the cold.”
“Yeah, but there’s gonna be a bonfire.” Your brows furrowed.
“Are there others that are going to be there?”
“Yeah, it’s just gonna be the guys.”
“The guys?” you repeated, tilting your head slightly.
“You remember Embry, Quil, those guys?”
Oh.
The guys.
Those guys.
“Oh… uh sure. I’ll just have to ask to see if I can but yeah. Sound fun.”
A light in Bella’s eyes lit at your response. Honestly she thought it was going to take physically dragging you to make you go. The way you’ve been so dismissive and uptight since the last time you saw Jacob made her assume you never wanted to see his face again.
It had been two weeks since the Cullen movie night and since you’ve seen Jake. The Monday at school following those events were quiet when it came to the topic of the boy. Which disappointed Bella since it seemed like the two of you had hit it off and the awkwardness from the game night being put behind you.
That obviously wasn’t the case as you visibly cringed whenever anything that related to the incident was brought up in conversation. From Jacob himself to skipbo it was as if you were hearing about your childhood dog dying at every little mention of the things that correlated with the event.
But that didn’t matter. The fact you even agreed to join Bella was half the battle itself.
“Cool,” Bella smiled, turning back into her seat. Your eyes lingered on the back of her head for a moment before darting your gaze out the window.
Well that got her chipper. Placing your chin into your palm you watched as people on the side walks passed and different students crossed the street.
Images of the boys flashed over your mind. Even if you had seen them a mere two weeks ago it felt longer. The amount of time you spent away from Jacob didn’t lessen the fact it felt like months. A never ending ache in your chest had been apparent ever since you last saw him.
And you didn’t understand why.
It didn’t make any sense why you felt such strong emotions towards him. You didn’t even know the kid but it was as if he’s been in your heart for the past decade.
It was just plain stupid.
It was stupid that how you were feeling made no sense.
How you couldn’t get his stupid attractive face out of your brain.
And it was so stupid how he had such an effect on you even when he wasn’t present.
It was like your mind was consumed by him against your will.
Not an hour ticked by without the thought of Jacob taking over your mind one way or another. Whether it be about the first night you met or the encounter at the grocery store.
You wished it would just stop. You wished for your mind to go blank and all of your emotions to go numb.
But that obviously can’t happen because the universe hates you.
Bringing a hand up to your lip, you bit your nail. The thought of seeing Jacob again made you nervous. You didn’t know how he would react. You didn’t know how you would react yourself.
-
“This feels illegal,” Jared stated as he tossed an arm over the wall of the bed of the pickup. Quil shrugged.
“Probably not, but just saying if we get pulled over it’s on you.” Jared furrowed his brows at the accusation.
“Excuse me?”
“If you wouldn’t have flipped your car we could’ve taken two vehicles and not have to be squished in the back of Jacob’s.”
At the sound of his name, the boy in mention glanced up from his lap. Instantly a breeze of air met his face.
“At least I have a vehicle. The fact you don’t even have your license should speak for that,” Jared countered.
“Had. You had a vehicle,” Quil corrected. “And I’ll have it soon. Just need to find my birth certificate to register for it first.”
“Yeah just maybe you should find that,” Embry snorted.
Jacob chuckled lightly, his shoulders slightly shaking at the action. As the boys continued to bicker, he squinted his eyes to look out past the road. Trees overtook his vision as glimpses of the sun passed through them. Scanning the horizon the sight of Sam through the back window who was in the front seat driving took over his vision. Emily sat next to him, her head thrown back as a silent laugh took over her features.
Jacob froze, his gaze holding as a familiar sinking feeling fell over him. However, he couldn’t dwell on it for long as a piece of wood was kicked onto his shin. Dragging his leg to his stomach as a response his head snapped over to Paul who was pushing logs away from him with his feet. Quills rambling overtook his senses once more further drawing his attention away.
“No cause I think my mom just doesn’t want me to get it. I don’t know where my social security card is either. She’s the one that has all that shit and whenever I ask she’s always like, ‘But if I give it to you, you’ll lose it.’ Which is true but like what if I piss her off one day and she like burns all that shit for revenge or something. I just wouldn’t have any form of identity anymore,” the boy ranted.
“You’re mom is so nice though. She wouldn’t do that,” Embry stated.
“Yeah, she’s real nice,” Jared agreed a smirk on his face. Quil’s face scrunched up in disgust.
“Dude… Ew. But you guys don’t see the side of her I do. I swear every time I have spare time she makes me do chores. I do laundry like five times a day on the weekends. It’s so bad.” Jacob raised a brow.
“You mean when you’re not sleeping in till two in the afternoon or playing video games on your jank ass console,” he teased.
“Jacob literally shut up. You don’t even have a Wii, you can’t talk.” Jacob brought his hands up in defense.
“Oh, touched a nerve there,” Jared noted. “What could he even do with a Wii? Play bowling?”
“Could you imagine though? Jacob in his room, perfecting his bowling form as he just bombs every single go,” Embry giggled rather childishly.
“Get his ass beat in Mario Cart that’s what,” Quil stated.
Jacob scoffed, “That is so a lie and you know it.”
“I don’t think you understand how many hours I put-,” Quil was cut off as a bump passed from under them.
A simultaneous groan passed through the group as Jacob winced, his back straightening off the side of the bed. Muttering curses he looked through the back window passing a glare that was directed to the driver. Sam waved a hand in apology as Emily turned with an uneasy smile. Mouthing a ‘sorry’ before looking back at the road ahead.
“Bro I think my tailbone got shotgunned into my ass,” Quil moaned, now laying on his side, cupping the injured area.
Adjusting his seating Jacob looked once more at Sam, somehow catching his eyes in the mirror. Darting his gaze away he settled into his spot.
This was the first time Jacob had seen Sam since about two weeks ago.
The last encounter he had with him was when he had come over to give Jacob… the talk.
Jacob winced at the memory.
In all honesty it had been more awkward than the sex talk from his dad.
-
When he heard the door creak open on that Sunday, he knew who it was instantly. Which caused him to scramble around to see if there was any way for him to somehow escape the situation.
Of course he came up with jack.
Which then caused him to end up in his living room across from Sam Uley who held an unreadable expression. Puffing out his cheeks Jacob wiped his sweaty palms over his jeans as he awaited the inevitable.
“So Jacob, you see when you meet some one who-”
I’ll save you the torture of reading how Jacob was lectured by someone who was merely three years older than him about the concept of that he now has a forever person and that there is no way he can get rid of them and how he’s destined to be trapped in this relationship for the rest of his days and he has to be there for them and love them as unconditionally as the universe wants him to or else-
Yeah… it was that bad. Jacob ended up screaming into his pillow that night till his vocal cords went raw from the amount of cringe he experienced.
-
Though even with the…uh… encouraging speech he didn’t want to dwell on what Sam had told him. The situation felt too heavy absurd. Distractions were seemingly the only possible exit from the maze of thoughts he was facing.
Taking shifts for patrol became a daily thing for him. The boys were rather accepting of allowing him to take their load of the work. Not that Jake minded.
Binging became another escape. Watching past seasons of ‘The Bachelor’ became a regular 7-10 every night for him.
Seeing people have more ridiculous love lives than him made him feel better about himself.
Though we don’t talk about the time Billy rolled in to see him sitting on the edge of his bed, eyes glued to the TV screen as the final rose was gifted for season three…
Even with those factors it didn’t change the fact he was all alone with his mind when he went to bed.
The ache in his chest seemed to be growing every day as your face plagued his every thought.
An all too familiar lump in his throat formed as the truck pulled down La Push beach to park.
His attention was pulled away as the boys and him came to a halt.
Hopping over the side Jacob pulled down the trunk door to take some of the wood into his hold. The breeze caught him jacket as he turned to walk it to the already placed fire pit. Tossing the objects into the hole he wiped his hands to rid any potential slivers.
Looking out at the water he squinted at the bright light of the setting sun.
Glancing back over his shoulder, the sounds of a familiar trucks engine came descending down the road.
Jacob had invited Bella the week prior. This would probably the only time she showed for these things for the fact the autum weather would increase so he thought he might as well throw out the invite casually.
Walking up the sand he got ready to greet her. The other boy exhcanged glances as he passed but he didn’t pay them much mind. The drivers door opened and out came the Swan girl in all her glory. Putting a hand over her eyes to block the sun she waved to Jacob. He went to return the gesture but paused.
The passenger side became ajar and two feet planted onto the gravel.

Nearly two weeks Jacob Black has not only been ignoring and avoiding Bella, but Quil and I too. Ever since the night of the movies, since his uncharacteristically rude outburst at Mike Newton. Both of my best friends were stressed about it which in turn stresses me out. I’ve called him multiple times to leave voicemails about what he’s doing to his friends, but it was to no avail - radio silence remained.
Bella said Harry Clearwater told her it was mono, but anyone could smell that bullshit from a mile away. Did mono render you catatonic? Unable to communicate with people that care about you?
An uneasy feeling settled in my gut, it had to be more. Something was keeping him from us and I want to know what that something is.
I need to know, I can’t just lose another one…

“Mom!” I shout through the empty house, trying to locate her.
A rare day we both have off to spend together and I’m about to ditch her.
“Yes, sweetheart?” I hear her voice drift from the laundry room as I make my way downstairs.
Turning as the sound of my approaching footsteps, she raises her eyebrows at my appearance - noting that my state of dress isn’t exactly for a day-in at home anymore.
“Bella called, was wondering if I’d go hiking with her? I think she just needs to take her mind off of Jake and wants company.”
My moms face falls slightly, but I can tell she won’t stop me from running to my best friend’s aid, “Just be careful and take your phone.”
“Thanks mom!” I surge forward and hug her quickly before snatching my keys from the hook by the door on my way out.
“And be back before dark!”
“Of course, love you!” I shout back.
“I love you too, honey!”
I speed almost the entire way to Bella’s - wanting to get her mind off of Jake was true, but she also wanted help finding the meadow.
As in, the meadow.
Her and Edward’s meadow.

Jasper
For months I’ve been feeling with this crack in my soul because of her and I’ve been doing it alone. Admittedly it’s my own doing, but the chafing of not really having my brother in my corner has worn away at me in way that doubles the pain of the loss.
I find myself gravitating towards his closed door, something that before Ithaca would’ve been an odd sight, and knocking on the thin wood.
“Go away.” The words rumble in his distinct baritone just loud enough for me to hear.
“No.” I answer simply, just as tired.
The door whips open in a flash and his eyes send a shock through me. Not because they’re dark with hunger - but dark with anger. And his emotions reflect it threefold.
“What do you want?” His tone raises my hackles, reminding me that my brother isn’t one to be messed with in a mood like this one.
A delicate hand curls up and around his chest, the owner of it completely blocked from view by his massive frame, and he visibly deflates. His anger dialing back a fraction at the influence of just her touch.
A slice of pain lances through me, regret or just plain loneliness at this point I’m not sure.
“Hear him out.” Rose orders him softly, kissing him on the cheek as she slips out from behind him and meets my eyes before disappearing down the hall. “Good luck.”
I reign in the laugh that threatens to bubble up at her throwing me to the wolves, but it’s another thing I’m doing to myself of my own free will, I need my brother.
Holding open the door wider for me to enter, he turns on his heel and deposits himself into the loveseat across from the tv, some muted football game flashing on it.
“I miss you and I’m sorry.” I unload on him with no preamble. No drawn out apology has ever been a requirement of his, short and to the point always a favorite to him.
A dark laugh thunders from him in a way that crushes me even more, “That’s it?”
I nod, I had thought about this conversation for months since he started avoiding me, but all my rehearsed words vacate me.
“That’s one hell of an apology.” The remote emits a small crack as his anger continues to boil. “I got no say, no one wanted to hear me out, and I’m just supposed to suck it the fuck up and just go with the flow of what’s best for the family.” He’s practically vibrating with barely constrained rage, but I let him continue. “She’s not just yours, Jasper.”
A shock jolts me for the second time, his sadness tugging at my heart heavily.
“She’s yours and that’s what makes her mine.” I can tell my confusion spurs Emmett on and he rises from the couch, “As your brother, it’s my responsibility to be her protector and you fucking ripped that away from me. You’re hurting her on purpose and it’s hurting me.”
I’m speechless as his words sink in. Familial-like bonds in a coven as old as ours are strong, but I had no idea.
“She was also my best friend-my little sister. I told her I would be there for her and you’re making me break my promise - something I’ve never fucking done.” Turning away from me to pace in a very non-Emmett move, “Are you going to say anything?”
“I had no idea-”
“You never considered, never noticed, never asked. It’s only been you in pain. You and Edward. You don’t even see what it does to Alice every time you ask her to check on Y/n.”
Her name sends agony anew through me, a thin knife that slices flesh from bone with surgical precision.
“I’m scared.” He would’ve missed my whisper if it weren’t for his supernatural hearing.
“Scared of what?” He’s before me in a flash, gripping my shoulders. “Scared of loving her?”
“Scared of her loving me! Scared of hurting her!” The house falls into dead silence, listening. “You’ve never known terror like this with Rose! You’re not afraid to kill her just from being around her, smelling her, touching her. You have no restrictions, no boundaries!” Tears of venom swirl my vision, but refuse to fall.
I push him off me and turn, attempting to reign in my distress.
“Bro-”
“I can’t do this without you. It’s like wave after wave of grief and I’m at my limit Emmett.” The seriousness in my tone softens him, love and compassion flow from him in a way that feels like his old self and it loosens the tension inside me a fraction.
“I may be angry with you, but I’ll never leave you.” My brother spins me around and engulfs me in his signature bear-hug.
Esme may be the mother of our group, but Emmett is the glue holding us all together. I’d be drowning without my brother and if his death-grip of a hug is any indication, he knows it.

Reader
“I’m pretty sure we passed that tree two times in the last hour, Bells.” Tromping behind my best friend, I keep my eyes fixed down to prevent myself from tripping over the dense foliage.
“We’re close, I just know it.” There’s a desperate edge to Bella’s voice that stops my teasing and squeezes my heart, I know that feeling. To be grasping for something out of reach to link me back to him.
Pushing through a particularly thick cluster of low-lying branches, I smack face first into Bella’s backpack.
“Bella, you can’t just stop-” Finally my surroundings make sense and I realize we’ve found it. It’s brown and sad as fuck, but we actually found it.
I spin, taking in every inch of the dead meadow as Bella drops to the ground, fingers clutching the crunchy grass. Facing the middle again, I gasp at the figure standing before us, the sound startling Bella into a standing position next to me.
“Bella and Y/n.”
“Laraunt.” His name is a choked gasp on my best friend’s lips.
“I didn’t expect to find either one of you here.” He begins pacing casually in front of us “I went to visit the Cullen’s, but the house is empty? I’m surprised they left you both behind. Weren’t you both sort of… pets of theirs?”
“Y-yeah, you could say that.” Bella answers him as I reach for her hand, a sort of dread sinking in as I think over his words and what he might be getting at.
“Do the Cullen’s visit often?”
You need to leave, darlin’. He’s not safe.
“Yeah absolutely - all the time.” Bella’s lie causes the hair on the back of my neck to raise.
“We’ll tell them you stopped by.” I chime in, trying to make it seem believable and also trying to keep the shaking from my voice - both from the deadly turn of the conversation and from hearing his voice in my head.
“I probably shouldn’t - Edward,” the name rolling of her tongue has her squeezing my hand in pain, “Because he’s pretty protective.”
“But he’s far away, isn’t he? They both are.”
Terror begins to flood my chest, he’s making sure we’re alone.
“Why are you here?” Bella flips the questioning onto Laraunt.
“I came as a favor… To Victoria.” His answer practically stops my heart and I know he can hear it.
“Victoria.” The whisper slips from me without a second thought.
“She asked me to see if either of you were still under the protection of the Cullens. Victoria feels it’s only fair to kill Edward’s and Jasper’s mates, given they killed her’s.” His eyes flicked between us, no doubt sensing the blow of both of their names. “An eye for an eye.”
“Edward would know who did it! And he’d come after you.”
Threaten him.
“Jasper would hunt both of you down.” My emotions fill my voice, the threat not as potent as it could be.
“I don’t think they will. After all, how much could you mean to them if they left you here, unprotected?” The vampire sighs, like he’s actually fucking torn, “Victoria won’t be happy about my killing you, but I can’t help myself - both of you are so mouth watering.”
“Please don’t, y-you helped us-” Bella begins to panic, but he flashes directly in front of us with his speed, fingers reaching for our faces.
“Shhh-shhh, don’t be afraid! I’m doing you a kindness - Victoria plans on killing you slowly, painfully. Whereas I’ll make it quick. I promise, you’ll feel nothing.”
“Edward I love you.” Bella’s confession slips as I close my eyes and squeeze her hand in mine. At least we go together, right?
“I can’t believe it.” The awe in Laraunt’s voice opens my eyes as twigs begin snapping in the tree line behind us.
One large wolf, black as night, emerges from the forest. Large being a gross understatement - more like the size of a fucking horse. Behind the massive animal emerges more of the same, although slightly smaller, but no less scary.
A pack of wolves. A pack of supernaturally huge wolves.
And they’re facing down a vampire, no less.
A vampire on a mission to kill us.
Run.
The command zings through me and takes charge. I yank on Bella’s arm as Laraunt bats away the first wolf like it was nothing, it’s yelp stunning her into action.
The panicked sprint through the woods for her truck is much faster this time than the hike out, neither of us stopping or looking back.
Afraid to see if anything was giving chase.
Afraid to see if the wolves didn’t buy us time.
The ride back to Bella’s was tense to say the least. Too stuck in my own head to even say anything to her, the terror still coursing through my veins keep my mouth shut and fists clenched. What if Laraunt got away from them? What if he was still hunting us?
I never realized until now how scary it is, not having the supernatural protection of the Cullens.
I never realized that I took for granted the safety Jasper surrounded me with. Well, used to surround me with.
The sour thought sends another all-too-familiar painful zap through my chest.
As soon as Bella pulls into her drive, I hop out and climb into my own as she runs inside, probably to tell her dad about the absolutely massive wolves lurking in Forks’ woods.
Wolves that might’ve just saved our lives.

Jacob black/// Princess
Request by @nev20: Jacob black has a daughter and him and the whole wolf pack are overprotective of her and won’t let her go to school because she’s a werewolf so she gets angry and phases into a wolf and runs away but they find her and talk to her. I think that would be a cute story if that is fine🙂
A/N: I'm sorry for taking long I have been having writers block and sorry that it's short if you want it longer, let me know and I'll redo it, but anyways thank you for requesting
Even though you're a werewolf, your dad and the whole pack were really overprotective of you, you couldn't go without them or one of them following you around like a lost puppy
You can't even go to a school because of how overprotective they are you were homeschooled instead you want to stop being Homeschool because you want to go to school, have friends and maybe a boyfriend, but you knew that your dad and they wouldn't of approve of you going and having one
"Hey dad, can I talk to you?" You ask nervously
"Of course Princess." Your dad looks over at you "what do you want to talk about?"
You bit your lip "about wanting to go to school."
He shakes his head, "we've already had this conversation, Y/N, you already know the answer to this."
"But dad I want to go to a school and I want to have friends." You tell him
"Sorry sweetie, but the answer is no you'll still be homeschooled. " He tells you
"Is it because I am a werewolf?" You asked almost angrily
"Of course not princess, we just want to keep you safe. " Leah tells you softly
"You guys want to keep me safe? That's bullshit. " You respond angrily as you could feel yourself transforming
Your father and the pack noticed it. Your father took a step closer to you so he can help you "Y/n baby look at me."
You didn't answer him instead you just growled at him and left them as you crawl on the floors and went to the woods
"Y/n's right we gotta let her go to a school we can't just keep her locked up she needs to meet people, have friends and maybe a boyfriend." Sam finally agrees with you
"Sam, are you crazy? If we let her go to school they're going to hurt her if they find out that she and her family are werewolves. " Jared gives Sam a disappointment look
"I know Jared, that's why we're here to protect the princess. She'll learn better at school than here. We suck at everything that we teach her." Son laughs
"you're not wrong about that." Paul laughs
"Maybe you're right Sam, we should let her go to school. " Your father smiles "I'm just scared of her safety, she's my little princess and who said that she can have a boyfriend?."
"Jacob just watched one day she's going to bring her boyfriend so she can meet us."Quil teases
"Never my princess is not going to have a boyfriend." Jacob crossed his arms "anyways let's go find the princess."
Jacob and the pack went to the woods to find you when they did they found you crying
"Princess what's wrong?" Your father asks worry
"I'm very sorry dad I didn't mean to growl at you I was just mad." You apologize with tears
"Everything is ok I know you didn't mean to princess." Your father wipes your tears off "we all agree on letting you go to school."
"Really thank you so much dad." You smiled and hugged him
He hugs you back "just one condition."
"What is it dad?"
"Please don't fall in love with a guy. I don't want you to have a boyfriend yet you're still my princess and you'll always be."
You laugh, "can't promise anything."

By The Cliffs (Ch 3/?)
Paul Lahote x Female Reader
Prev. Chapter
Wattpad I AO3
Rating: T+
Word Count: 2529
Summary: It was supposed to be a vacation.
A time to relax after Graduate School and unwind the pent-up tension I'd built up in the years of juggling school and work. Finally, I'd have the chance to breathe. Craving the serenity of mother nature's caress, I'd chosen Forks, a four-hour drive from the University, based on the stories I'd heard from Washington locals I'd known in school. With its endless trees and rainy weather, it seemed a perfect sleepy dream spot.
In retrospect, my belief that it was solely my decision to visit and not the Universe's mystic call pulling me there was mortal ignorance. But who besides a creature possessing the gift of predestination could have anticipated what awaited me by the cliffs?
Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight or any of Meyer's Characters. This work is not created for profit or financial compensation, and is a transformative fair use work in accordance with Section 107 of the United States Copyright Act.
Notes: Reader's POV are my FAVORITE to write. She's so funny! I hope you enjoy living in this story with me<3
Warnings: This fic is about Imprinting. Warning if that's not your cup of tea. There is some swearing (bc it's my love language) and angst.
Enjoy!
The belief that this could have all been a fantastical experience straight from a horror movie, a nightmare, is shattered when I blink my eyes open to find an unfamiliar ceiling instead of the forest's canopy.
Pain shoots through my skull as I sit up. No, this couldn't have been a dream; I must have hit my head, and hard, by the throbbing at the base of my skull.
Wobbly, I stand and move towards the closed door, silently praying it's unlocked. The knob turns easily, and I swing it open, expecting to find an axe murderer. Not... the delicious aroma of baked goods.
Maybe my captor was like the witch from Hansel and Gretel and was planning on feeding me in preparation for their meal. I try to stifle a laugh. This wasn't funny! I was moved from where I'd fallen to someone's house. This was serious and scary.
Taking a tentative step toward the smell, I glance around the expanding room, looking for exit points for my escape.
"Oh, you're up." I whip my head in the direction of a woman's voice. She's sitting at a big kitchen table, a timer in front of her, "How are you feeling? Quil and Embry said you'd hit your head. I'm glad they had the sense to bring you back here."
I blink back at her, noticing the red scarring that ran down the right side of her face, marring the delicate flesh of her forehead, cheek, and chin.
"Here," the woman stands, moving around the table. She brushes past me, quickly grabbing a tray of pastries, "Eat something. I don't think your head injury is serious, but I'm sure you're hungry."
Hesitantly, I take something from the outreaching tray, "Thank you."
The woman gestures to the table, "Sit, I'm not a doctor, so my word might be complete bullshit. Better safe than sorry."
We sit silently for a few minutes before I say, "I'm (y/n)."
"It's nice to meet you, (y/n). I'm Emily; welcome to my house."
I smile, "Nice to meet you too. How-- how did I get here?" Emily seems nice, but lots of serial killers are charming. I needed the full story before I determined she was safe to be around.
Emily returns the smile, "Quil and Embry brought you after you hit your head." Something in her tone makes me wonder if she's telling the complete story.
"I don't remember--" The memories come rushing back, "There were wolves! Two giant-- almost unnaturally, giant wolves. I fell because they were almost... stalking me. I don't know what made them run away."
Emily bites her lip, "Huh. I guess Embry and Quil must have scared them off. You're lucky they were around, I suppose."
Lucky was an understatement. There was something odd about the coincidence. "I suppose so..."
We sit in uncomfortable silence for a few minutes before I ask, "Who are Quil and Embry to you? I mean-- why did they bring me to your home?"
"You could say-- they're my husband's brothers." Weird answer, again.
"Oh. Are they around here? I want to thank them for saving me."
"They're around here somewhere. But they'll be in sometime soon. They're waiting for their other brothers to come home."
How many brother-in-laws did this woman have?
Arguing outside breaks the uncomfortable silence that comes over us. Three men's voices yell back and forth.
"Yes! She wasn't your problem! How stupid are you two?" One man's voice is mean, rough, and fiery angry.
Yikes. He sounds... reasonable.
"You shouldn't go out there, (y/n)—" Emily's voice interrupts my horrified interest in the scene.
Disregarding her words, I walk towards the front door to see why the man was so upset with who I assume saved my life by the conversation. A group of men stand, opposing two others, no more than fifteen feet away from Emily's home. The tallest looks at the scene, annoyance written on his face as he watches the one-- the presumed yeller by his predatory stance, chest puffed, muscles straining-- become angrier with each second. To the right of Mr. Hothead, the other stands with an authority none of the others match.
"We weren't going to leave the girl in the middle of the woods, Paul. She was hurt, and it was our fault."
Their fault?
"There's no need to wolf out, Paul." The tall man crosses his arms over his chest, his expression continuing to sour.
The angry man, Paul, I guess, begins to shake like he's been unfortunate enough to have stepped on a minuscule earthquake.
I take a step back, bewildered by the scene before me, as it takes an even more... shocking turn.
In an instant, the place where the man was standing is filled with a monstrous gray wolf similar to the ones I'd seen in the woods. Within seconds, two others have exploded, too, leaving behind wolf beasts in their place as well.
"What the fuck?" I yell out on impulse.
All eyes, including the three wolves, turn to me. Surprise is written on-- the human's faces as they take in my presence for the first time. One wolf dashes off towards the back of the house before I can further respond.
I don't wait for the explanation, turning back towards the door, "Quick, Emily! There's a wolf— it's headed towards the back door—"
My head snaps towards the sound of footfalls on wooden steps. A man walks through-- the stern one who, a minute ago, had exploded into a wolf.
The wolfman's eyes lock with mine briefly before landing on Emily, "Paul."
"Paul?" she asks, confusion evident on the unmarred side of her face.
He glances back at me, his expression conflicted, "It's not my place…"
Some sort of understanding comes over Emily's face, "Paul… really?"
The man nods before stepping closer to where I stand.
Panic spreads through my body, "Wait, no--" I put my hand out in a lame attempt at defending myself from the supernatural, "Don't come any closer."
My hostess hesitantly approaches me, "It's okay, (y/n). No one's going to hurt you, I promise."
"You— why aren't you scared? Something freaky is happening here! He's a—" I point an accusatory finger at the man, "A wolf! Same with the people who saved me! And probably the others, too."
She smiles, "I know. They're not going to harm you. You trust me, no?"
"The one— the one yelling? What the hell is happening!"
The man interjects before I can spiral further, "Paul has trouble controlling his anger. We have an agreement between the pack to never bring outsiders into our circle for their protection. He wasn't angry with you, per se. Sit. I'll explain as much of the situation as I can." He motions towards the empty table.
My mind feels eerily empty as I absorb everything he's just said. Still wary of him, I sit in the chair farthest away, "Okay..."
He smiles. I'm not reassured at all by the smile. "First of all, I'm Sam Uley. Emily's husband."
My gaze shoots over to Emily, suddenly feeling silly. No wonder she wasn't afraid; she was completely aware of the oddities happening around here, being married to one of the oddities himself.
"I know what you just saw was-- alarming. But I promise it's not as scary as it seems."
I very much doubt that.
"You just saw what we are. Shapeshifters, wolf shapeshifters, more specifically. I'm the Alpha; the dark brown wolf is Jacob, our Beta, and the—" he chuckles, looking like he knows something I don't, "hot-headed one is Paul, our third in command."
Emily's smile at me as Sam talks about Paul… is weird, to say the least.
"Shapeshifters?" I ignore the uncomfortable look the couple shares.
"It's a-- hereditary trait triggered by the presence of vampires."
"Vampires?" I choke out. Maybe I died, and I'm in hell. Or I hit my head so hard I've lost all connection to reality.
Emily shoots a glare at her husband, "Don't focus too hard on that right now. You're entirely safe with the pack around."
"Sorry," Sam looks sheepishly between his wife and me, "Disregard that for now."
Another bombshell that apparently no one would be addressing.
"I want to say you're ridiculous, and that's a great story, but— I guess unless I've got serious brain damage from my fall and am hallucinating hard, you're not lying… what do I have to do with any of this? You didn't need to tell me anything if it wasn't important."
"It's-- well, it's not entirely my place to explain this next part."
"Then who will?" I'm so over this dude's crypticness.
Sam looks at Emily once again. I'm getting really tired of their shared, knowing looks.
"Paul."
"Paul?" I laugh, "Mr. Hothead's going to explain? No thanks. There has to be someone else, someone more reasonable, that can explain it."
Sam glances at Emily, biting his lip like he's unsure he should be saying this next part. Lucky for him, another voice butts into the conversation.
"Can we talk?"
My head whips around, spooked by the intrusive voice. The man, Paul, is standing in the doorway. He's got a shirt on now, his expression hard for me to read.
I look back at Sam and Emily, unsure I want to be alone with him. Emily nods towards me encouragingly.
Awkwardly, I stand up from my seat, "oh—Kay." The word comes out in two clumsy syllables.
Paul moves away from the door frame, allowing me to walk past him outside.
The uncomfortable vibe between us seems to be one-sided, me being the one who apparently wants the space between our bodies, and he, unknowingly or not, stepping closer with every step forward. I have the sneaking suspicion that he'd take my hand if he could.
We stand silently for a moment away from the house before he speaks, "I didn't ask your name."
"You didn't get the chance," I look away, "But it's (y/n)."
"I'm Paul."
"I'm well aware," I glance up at his face, regretting it. How can he look at me like that? What have I done to deserve the reverence he wore on his face?
I can't handle it. I need to put more space between us.
"Can we walk and talk?" I hope the movement will help prevent my anxiety from bubbling up again.
Paul nods, again taking a step that made it seem like we were magnets that couldn't keep apart. What was up with this guy?
After a few minutes of walking silently, I ask, "Mind telling me why I'm being pressured to talk to you after I listened to you scream at those two for saving my life?" I don't care that the words are harsh. He had said it, after all.
Paul physically cringes, "That— I wouldn't have said it if I'd known."
"Why are you all saying weird, cryptic things like that to me? Known what exactly?" I move further away, and his next step brings us back together again.
Paul kicks a rock, his barefoot evidently fine as it smacks into the decent-sized stone. He huffs once, conflicted by his thoughts.
"I don't know how to explain it without coming off insane."
My laugh sounds a bit more like a-- scoff, "I just watched a bunch of people hulk out, literally. I think I can handle whatever you're going to say."
This gets a smile out of him, "I guess you're right."
After a moment, I wave my hand, "Go on then."
Paul stops walking, and I follow suit. His gaze doesn't waver as he asks me, "Sam explained about the wolf thing, right?"
"That you're a— a shapeshifter wolf? I guess. He didn't go into any great detail, but yes."
"He didn't tell you why we— I stopped fighting, though?"
I shake my head no. I hadn't seen the fight end, too freaked out to pay attention to what the beasts did after I'd rushed back into the house.
"What happened-- caused me to stop, is somewhat indescribable to humans. It's— it's specifically a wolf thing. Or at least I've never met another creature who has experienced it."
"And it is?" I prompt, hating the beating around the bush.
Paul smiles, "It's called imprinting."
I frown, "Imprint— like a duck? What does this have to do with me?"
He momentarily looks startled by my words before regaining his composure, "Not— Never mind. I imprinted on you."
I blink once, twice, three times at him before bursting out into laughter, "What are you talking about? No, you didn't!"
I didn't really understand any of this, but the whole scenario was hilarious. Maybe I really did have a head injury.
Hurt crosses his face before morphing into a glower, "Why are you laughing? I'm not joking."
Shaking my head, I walk away, "I don't even want to know what you're talking about. Nope. Go imprint on someone else." I make air quotes as I say the word imprint.
Paul's growl sends a chill up my spine, "That's not how it works."
I turn quickly, my patience for this insanity ending, "Then how does it work? Because I frankly don't want this!"
Paul looks like I've slapped him, "What do you mean?"
"I don't want to live in this nightmare any longer! I just wanted to hike on my vacation, and now suddenly, I'm the werewolf's girlfriend? Can any of you hear how insane this is, or is it just me?"
"Listen—" his hand wraps around my wrist firmly, probably an attempt at grounding me in his words, "I'm being dead serious. Imprinting is never wrong. It's— it's the universe placing two people who belong together, together."
I blink back at him before I feel the simmer of annoyance beneath my skin, "Are you saying I don't have a choice?" I spit the words back at him, shaking his hand off me.
The anger melts off his face as he stares blankly at me. It returns in seconds, "What do you mean a choice?"
"A choice!" I take a step closer to him. "The ability to walk away right now if I wanted!"
"Why would you walk away?" The way he says it, like it would be stupid for me to even consider this, changes the simmer in my chest to a raging boil.
"Have you ever considered that I'm not from here? I don't live here! Hell, I don't want to move here, especially just so your weird wolfy side believes I'm its predetermined soulmate! News flash, buddy, I don't know you!"
I think he's gotten the memo as I successfully make it all the way back to the house's yard until I hear him behind me again, "(y/n), stop."
"No!" I yell back, ignoring the group of men sitting on the porch, watching.
He growls, "You're really pissing me off—"
I reel around, the anger consuming me completely, "You wanna see pissed off, meathead? You ain't seen nothing yet."
Crickets.
One of the men— werewolves' voice speaks, "Shit. She's just like him."
A chuckle rains over the group, causing Paul's nostrils to flare in anger.

Chapter 6: Surprise!
When Paul and Mia came back to the group, Jared raised his eyebrows giving Paul a look which he gave him a slight head nod in return. Causing Jared’s face broke out in a grin as they sat down beside him and Kim, the others seemed to be scattered around.
“Paul was nervous you would say no. Something about being too soon to ask you out. I told him he didn’t have to worry so much about it. And clearly I was right.” Jared explained to her as Paul cheeks had a nice blush going over them, earning Jared a playful shove.
“I told him to pick a romance movie or book scene and ask you out. You can’t say no to that.” Kim added in giving him a small smile. “His been at our house watching my rom-coms anytime he could.” Kim exposed him, nudging him with her foot.
“You could have just asked me. You didn’t have to do something special.” Mia shrugged, leaning over to press a kiss on his rose covered cheeks. She may have loved the act but it wasn’t necessary to get her to say yes.
“I just wanted something special, something different from others.” Paul told her throwing his arm over her shoulder, placing a kiss to her temple. Mia curled up under his arm enjoying his warmth, resting her head on him, she looked around and watched Paul’s family around the beach. The group had separated a bit since Paul and Mia went off. Seth and Quil were entertaining the smaller kids building sandcastles, digging a moat where the children were sitting in the water as they watched the boys do the actually building. Others were playing a game of soccer, off to the side a few people were cheering them on while they watched. Mia could see Leah and Peter off floating in the water splashing in the waves. Plenty of others were just sitting around the beach, everyone finding their own way to entertain themselves.
And that is how the day went on from there, mostly everyone spent the day relaxing by each other as they all mixed and mingled. There weren’t many days that almost everyone would be able to hang out with each other anymore, even if they did have small groups hanging out almost daily. It was like one huge family that actually got along with each other. It was an odd concept to Mia but she loved it. Eventually the day came to a end and Paul had to work later that night for a little bit, wrapping up Mia said goodbye to everyone before Paul walked her to car.
“Today was fun. I wish we could have every day like this.” Mia told him wrapping her arms around Paul’s neck as he pulled her close.
“Yeah, this adult life is kind of making it hard to all get together like this. It’s much better to be here with you though. I fight people less.” Paul said teasingly, grinning down at her.
“Everyone always says you are so badass, I don’t see it.” Mia teased shaking her head. How many stories she heard that Paul temper was over the top, not as bad as it once was years ago but even now there was apparently a low tolerance for bullshit. At least that’s how Quil put it, which almost earned him a backhand if he hadn’t moved so fast out of the way.
“Hey! I’m still badass, I have just got calmer in my old age.” Paul said defending himself to her, a grin on his face.
“Yeah you are pretty old. With age comes wisdom. You must have gained some causing you to mellow out.” Mia said giving Paul a smile.
“I don’t think you were supposed to agree with me!” Paul burst out laughing, placing a kiss on Mia forehead.
It was true that he would lose himself over everything a few years back, but he eventually learned how to control it when he started to take charge of all the younger kids in the pack. He didn’t want to be a danger risk when Emily and Sam announced they wanted to start a family and the day they made him Madelyn godfather, made all of it worth it.
“I don’t want to go to work.” Paul moaned as he held his girlfriend not wanting the day to end. There would only be so many days that he could spend the whole day hanging out with Mia. Both their lives were going to be more chaotic when she had to go to school.
“Sadly I don’t think you have much of choice in the matter.” Mia pouted, curling into Paul’s forever warmth. The air had grown colder now the sun was going down but luckily she had Paul to keep the chill off her. Mia felt a bit crazy, she had spent all day with Paul and still didn’t want to let go of him. Was this normal? Was this what it was to fall someone? She had a million and one crushes back home but nothing felt like this before. And if this was the start of their relationship, how would they go from here? She felt she knew everything about Paul and yet could spend forever learning more about him.
“No. Sadly I don’t. You’ll get to the hotel alright?” Paul wondered.
Mia rolled her eyes at his overprotectiveness, it was sweet but she didn’t need it. Especially in some small little towns out here. “I drove from New York to here by myself, I think if I made it across country by myself, I just might be able to make it through town safe and sound.” Mia said teasingly.
Paul just chuckled wrapping his arms around her waist and pulled her close, burrowing his face in her neck while they stood there just enjoying each other. Pulling back slightly he lifted Mia chin up towards him so he could kiss her, Mia arms curled up between them as she stood on her toes. It wasn’t a long kiss but Mia pulled away smiling up at him. “You have to go.” Mia whispered. “I’m driving up to Port Angeles on Friday. I know its last minute but maybe you could come?”
“I will try sweetpea. I’ll call you tomorrow?” Paul said letting go of Mia, giving her one last kiss before he ran over to Embry truck where the others were waiting for him. Mia waited till they left before driving herself back to the hotel room, she couldn’t wait until she had her own place. But there was nothing she could do back here, she needed a place in Port Angeles and that was just waiting.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Mia’s day had been dragging, her days seemed to be a going on forever with her just waiting around for when Paul was free to hang out. She had been talking to Kim and Leah which was defiantly helped break up her days but it wasn’t like her to stay and doing nothing for so long. Mia sat awkwardly alone at a table at the diner in town, she hated eating alone but she needed the illusion that she had people around after a day of hanging out with herself. She was half way done with her dinner as she scrolled through her phone replying to people, when she received a texted message telling her to look up. Frowning Mia looked up only to see Callie sitting in the chair across from her, Mia jumped but quickly moved to be able to hug her when Callie laughing at her, her face scrunching up.
“What are you doing here?!” Mia exclaimed grinning at her best friend.
“I had to talk to the school and I couldn’t be that close and not come to say hello.” Callie told her grinning as she leaned forward placing her elbows on the table.
“Talk to school. Callie…” Mia started but Callie cut her off with the wave of her hand.
“You know I had to do something. You applied extremely late. I made sure you aren’t taking anyone spot they are simply opening one up for you and only because of your grades and what you did. Nothing overly bribery. But I took care of it so just don’t worry about it.” Callie told her.
“I guess that it is a good thing. I just wish I could have known so I could have planned a while ago.” Mia complained throwing a fry in her mouth. She could easily understand why Callie had to basically bribe the school, she knew Callie always got her way all she had to do was go to the school and bat her eyes but she was unsure how comfortable with all of it. The guilt Mia felt that by letting Callie bribe her way through. She felt like she was going back and forth on the topic but what was done was done. And honestly Callie wouldn’t have listened to her anyways. She wasn’t one to listen much.
“Nothing you can do about that. But on to the more important things to deal with right now. When am I going to meet this Paul?” She asked her friend giving her a smirk when her cheeks pinked.
“I didn’t even know you were going to be here! His working till late tonight so it won’t be today.” Mia explained.
Callie pouted at her best friend, she knew the chances were low but she was hoping she would have just happened to get lucky but it just wasn’t in her favor today. She wanted to make sure that Paul was a good guy though, Mia didn’t always know how to protect herself, particular from guys. So where Mia could make her own decisions Callie liked to double check that weren’t crazy or awful and she didn’t have to worry about her friend too much. “Well, where is the fun in that! I guess I could manage. I won’t be able to be here long. I have a flight to catch back in Seattle today.”
“Aww come on, stay longer.” Mia begged; it would be nice to actually have her friend back around her, as much as she liked her new friends Callie was home and always would be.
“I can’t. It’s Lizzie birthday tomorrow. I can’t miss that.” Callie said shaking her head.
“Caroline!” Mia gasped her eyes wide as she stared at her brown-haired friend, that would cause nothing but trouble if Callie was seen anywhere near her family. It was only by chance that Mia and Alica were able to stay in Callie’s life after the accident.
“Don’t worry, I’m not going to be obvious.” Callie said rolling her eyes giving her a smirk, but her face dropped when her finger traced the patterns on the wooden table. “I basically raised her Mia. I have to at least show up in one way or another.” Callie looked up at Mia begging her to understand where she was coming from, Mia had been by her side through everything. They have been friends since kindergarten no one could possibly understand better about needing to be there for her little sister.
“I just don’t want it to end badly.” Mia explained letting out a soft sigh, it wouldn’t be ending good but she had to let Callie do it.
“I know you do. And its sweet but I will make sure it will be drama free.” Callie said, giving her a smile. “Now tell me more about how staying here changes your plans?”
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Something was wrong. Mia just didn’t know what. She had woken up early for Emily calling her asking if she wanted to come over and hang out for a girl’s day. It would have been fine if it wasn’t five o clock in the morning when she called to come over. Mia had stayed up pretty late hanging out with Callie until she had to leave, so being up and moving this early in the morning was not her plan but she felt that she needed to make it to Emilys for whatever reason. The drive was easy, no one was on the roads, but Mia seemed to think something was following her in the trees, but she shook it off as her half-sleep brain trying to wake up and seeing things out of the corner of her eye.
Finding Emily’s little yellow house, the lights from the window were stretched out across the dark yard, the window curtain fluttered with Emily peering out. Soon after the door opened as she wrapped her robe tighter around her against the chilly air. Mia gave her a small smile when she walked past her into the eerily silent house, the house always had someone here making noise and it was off putting that nothing was going on.
“What’s going on?” Mia whispered, knowing Madelyn was in her room sleeping and didn’t want to wake her up.
Emily went to use the girl’s day excuse but seeing the look on Mia face stopped her. Letting out a sigh she sat down curling up on the chair. “I can’t tell you. You just need to be here alright?” Emily told her, almost trying to beg her to accept the answer. Mia nodded her head; she wasn’t going to let it go but for now she would let it slip by.
The hours seemed to drag on, it wasn’t long after she arrived Madelyn woke up and the two girls distracted themselves playing with her. Mia took more control as Emily would keep checking out the window for something, but Mia followed through and stayed silent. She was starting to worry after three hours of this, but when she finally had had enough she heared voices outside causing Emily to jump up and curl Madelyn too her and after a quick peek out the window then rushed out the door. Mia jumping up from her spot on the couch and followed after her, coming out of the woods in only mostly only shorts seemed like the whole group of guys, only Leah, Seth and Jared seemed to missing.
Mia raised her eyebrows as she stood in the doorways as she watched Paul come across the yard, when Embry and Alex passed by her entering the house. That itself wouldn’t be abnormal but when Embry stopped and slowly turned back around to Mia with his nostrils flared, she thought she had somehow angered Embry. But Alex came back out and did the same thing, she couldn’t have stunk that bad, she just showered yesterday afternoon. She must have missed something because the whole group stopped to stare at her and even Alex started to shake.
“Alex! Get away!” Sam basically ordered him and for Alex credit he did try but Mia was in the way and wanted to check on him. He was pretty young and something seemed wrong with him and Sam being bossy wasn’t going to help him.
“Are you okay?” Mia said reaching out but it only seemed to make it worse, he started to shake so hard that the edges of him seemed to almost blur, Embry pushed her backwards only for her to stumble down the stairs and just barely caught herself when Paul jumped in front of her pushing her further back. But her eyes focused back on Alex who was being led off the porch and across the yard by Embry. Paul held her back until he whipped around and let out a sound that was almost like a growl. Mia tried to figure out what was going on, when her eyes focused on Alex when he turned into a giant black wolf beside Embry, taking a step back she watched Embry sigh and yell go on to the wolf that was once Alex as Mia just stood there staring at them watching the wolf disappear in the trees.
No one around her was surprised by what just happened, they just seemed to be waiting for her to give some sort of reaction. Mia just went back to sit on the porch steps to wrap her mind around what she just saw. Of course the world wasn’t just as small minded as some might think, Mia knew that better then anyone. But that the idea that she would somehow stumble into this world again..the chances were so low and yet somehow here she was.
“Wolf?” Mia questioned, looking up at Paul who was much calmer now but a look of worry was hanging on his face as he watched her, giving her some space.
“Yes he is.” Paul replied softly.
“Wolf?” Mia said turning to point at Paul who just nodded his head. “All wolves?” Mia asked sounding slightly broken from the look Paul was giving her.
“All the guys basically, and Leah.” Paul answered her anyway. Mia nodded her head and thought back to Billy telling her all the stories, all the legends of the Quileute’s. Wasn’t that exactly what was happening right now, stories of the cold ones and how they became protecters of the people. It wasn’t just some story; it was magic once again.
“You know.. that explains so much.” Mia said shaking her head at Paul, giving him a smile trying to get him to relax some. She stood up and reached out for his hand, their fingers intertwined while she stared up at him. “So are you going to show me your wolf then?” Mia asked him calmly, tilting her head up at him.
Paul looked confused and looked back at where Sam was standing, he just gave a small shrug and sent most of the group away leaving Emily, him and Paul outside. Paul slowly made his way to the edge of the woods and disappeared behind a tree while the other three waited in silence. Shortly after a large grey wolf came out of the tree line, his steps slow as he walked to Mia. But Mia couldn’t really feel scared, she was just amazed that any of this was possible. Quickly she made her way over to her wolfy boyfriend and reached out to touch the fur on his cheek, a smile breaking across her face. “Good puppy.” Mia mumbled softly causing a snort from Paul. The fur was somehow soft and course to her touch as she ran her fingers through it, Paul giant head leaned gently against her hand before letting out a light snarl. Mia gave him a look and pulled back slightly and asked him to go change back so they could talk about it. Nodding Paul quickly ran back towards the woods and came out in only shorts once again.
“You’re taking this surprising well.” Sam told Mia, Mia felt like he was wondering if she was crazy but it was just Paul and he would never hurt her. She hadn’t even known him a long time and she knew he would protect her like no one else.
“I read a lot.” Mia shrugged turning back to look at Paul, reaching back out letting him come to her hand. “You guys turn to wolves and the bonfire stories…they are your stories.” Looking up at the slightly taller man while he wrapped his arms around her as he watched her face change to any sight of fear.
“All of them. Well mainly our ancestors but there were two stories that were about us. But yeah, we turn to wolves when danger is near.” Paul explained to her.
Mia nodded her head, she had so many questions, so many little details that needed to know about them being wolves. She didn’t know where to start asking Paul or if he even wanted to answer her. Maybe it was more private after all her finding out was purely by accident.
“I’m sorry.” Mia bubbled out, making Paul freeze not expecting it to come out of her mouth. Mia didn’t even expect it too. “You probably didn’t want me to know and now I just kinda know.. I should have moved faster or something. I just…”But Mia was cut off with a kiss, Paul’s hands burned across her back pulled her close, she was surrounded by Paul, her arms tucked in between their chest while he kissed her only pulling back so Mia could catch her breath.
“I love that you know. I hated having to lie.” Paul told her, resting his forehead against hers before once again shuttering which seemed to bring him back into focus about something else. “I didn’t plan to tell you this way but luckily you are taking it well.”
“Do you remember all the stories?” Paul questioned her, Mia told him she did. There was no way she could have forgotten the way Billy told them.
“So you remember the cold ones? Those are who we protect people against. The cold ones have this scent disgust us, it smells sweet and nasty. And as wolves we have better smelling then everyone else, in both forms.” Paul spoke to her while Mia just followed along taking in the new information, not sure why it was so important for her to know this right now. “You smell like a cold one but also not. Kinda like one was around you a couple days ago but something is off about it. Alex is young and it’s harder to control all of this, which is what happened to him.
Mia froze at Paul’s words; she knew exactly what he meant by it. And he was not going to like her explanation of why she did.
“So cold ones are vampires, right?” Mia said slowly, moving away from Paul only for Sam and Emily to walk out of the house and back out to them, this time joined by Quil and Embry. They all agreed while she stared at the five of them unsure how to start this conversation. “First things first, not a threat. Not even slightly but there may be something I have to tell you..”

Jess lied about a lot about her relationship with her own family, her old friends with whom she hung out with before she dating Jamie, she lied about her studies at the University of London in marketing or public relations and according to Jess’s fake interview in 2021 that was posted on YouTube she seemed to exaggerate about what she said about her professional experiences, it’s like she made up a life, she had lied about her jobs as a business woman and the co-founder of Ice studio (it’s Renell who works and manages the company and Jess only posts Renell’s work on her IG, there is no work she had managed and created by herself, she lied about her « gothic » style and her hobbies (sports, surfing, snowboarding, hiking and beaches) and she did all this for the purpose of attracting Jamie’s attention (by stalking him for years of course).
It is no longer useful that Jess’s stans continue to defend her indefinitely and unnecessarily, knowing that she is a liar and a manipulator who has used her own family, her friends, her former boyfriends, Jamie and his family and sooner or later the mask will end up falling and Jess will reveal her true face and she will have lost everything (what is called karma).
Jess's entire identity and personality are built on lies. She didn't seem to be interested in half the "hobbies" she has now until she wanted to get with Jamie and then got with him. I'm fairly sure she's consistently lost friends over her entire life because she's a phony. She doesn't know who she is or what she wants. Most people will wise up to this sort of thing and stop dealing with people like her. I also think that a lot of her co-workers only had "fun" with her because they had to and they probably dropped her the moment she was fired from something or left.
Her family obviously got fed up with her at some point, maybe for this same behaviour, maybe worse. She tried to build an entire career around dating Jamie. Not any talents she has. Not for anything she actually does. She literally wanted to somehow be famous and profit from dating him and do nothing else other than lounge in his house all day and get drunk and party. That's it.
We can see from public papers that her "agency" in the UK isn't even an agency because it's not filed as one, though she calls herself a talent manager. She also doesn't have a license for this in California or in New York so she can't possibly have that job in the states. Other than her connection to Jamie the only other thing she has is her "friendship" with Quil and Renell, but even that's questionable because Renell won't admit that Jess owns half of the Ice Studios brand when asked about it, nor will she say that Jess is her manager so who actually knows what her relationship is with Renell other than friend that Renell for some reason gives money to?
None of her friends or "business partners" can say what Jess's occupation is. No one can figure it out just by looking at her IG page (which is BTW supposed to be a business page yet what business is Jess in? Does anyone know by looking? Literally no one knows. Her stans don't even know what she does).
Everything that Jess is, was built on lies and phony relationships, and lying about relationships. She's ultimately a huge loser under all of the manipulation and deception and ugly tattoos. I hate that people like her somehow get so far in life being so phony but that's how the world works, sadly. The only good part about this is that once it becomes official Jamie is done with her she'll fade into obscurity, have to scam her way back to the lifestyle she's accustomed to and hope she doesn't get deported for any of the bullshit she's lying about.
My guess is that she'll never do anywhere near as good as being with someone like Jamie, and she'll bottom out in a boring regular job or go crazy and start an Only Fans.

Can u do one where it’s quill x reader where she always goes out for everyone’s birthday but no one does anything for hers and ever since quill imprinted in her he makes sure to go all out for her every year
aww yes i can! 💜 hope you enjoy :)
infinite love without fulfillment - quil x reader
The gift was considerably thought out. It was covered at the bottom of a gift bag with its birthday card to the soon to be owner.
Another birthday dinner, another well planned guest list, and another gift where you were able to receive a hug and a thank you.
“What’s your plans for Saturday?” Quil asks you.
You just shrug and nonchalantly say, “I don’t have any.”
“No plans for your birthday?” he couldn’t believe it. He was the one who dropped you off at other people’s birthdays. He asked about the people you celebrated theirs with.
“Well.. some can’t take off work and some already made plans.” you say not thinking it’s a big deal until he shakes his head, “That’s such bullshit.”
From that day forward, Quil racked up lots of ideas. He payed close attention to the things you enjoyed.
On the morning of your birthday, you woke up to him overwhelming you with kisses and hugs. You tried to shoo him off but you couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled up.
After you gave him an applause for his a cappella off key “happy birthday” song, he presented a freshly cooked breakfast. You were touched. No one has ever did this for you before. As you ate, Quil made a vow, “We’re going to have so much fun today.”
He made his promise, your smiles and laughs helped support his claims. Time moved so fast. He baked you your very own favorite flavored birthday cake.
“Make a wish, make a wish.” he says as he holds the cake with the lit candles in place.
You closed your eyes for a moment until you realized that you didn’t need to make a wish. The person you get to spend the rest of your life with made your special day special.
“It already came true.” you say and then blow out the candles.
