Ohhhh I’m so glad someone thought of this too. That line destroyed me when I thought about it again.

Because, to the players, it doesn’t matter that much. *They* didn’t die. They’re just characters, right?

Gorgug went to HELL. Or, at least, he went to a fucked up forest that did not want him there, and knew he did not belong. He then comes face to face with his school counselor, who tells him he was just killed by the principal (in front of all of Gorgug’s friends, minus Kristen). He later learns that that person was killed FOR HIM. They didn’t get to decide that. Aygfort did. That person had a family, and now they can’t, because his principle DECIDED he wouldn’t. He DECIDED that Gorgug’s life was more important that someone else’s, FOR THEM.

(I have a lot of thoughts on how shitty Arthur is. A LOT. I’m not saying he’s bad but he is arguably not a good person)

Kristen learned that the god she had sacrificed for, lost friends for, advocated for, and devoted fourteen years of her life to was, essentially, a fuckboy. THAT was who chose her. And guess what? Helio didn’t bring her back. Arthur did. So what does she do now? She died on her FIRST DAY OF HIGHSCHOOL, went to heaven, met her terrible god, and now she has to go home to her evangelical parents and her BROTHERS. Her BABY BROTHERS who DO NOT KNOW THE WORLD AS SHE NOW DOES. What is she supposed to tell them?

There are a lot of moments in D20’s campaign that are really played off to be jokes when it’s a lot more serious than that, at least to the viewers. As a DnD player, I completely understand why the Players don’t really catch it in the moment, or just don’t take it that way. It’s often not the time for it, plus, they’re a group of comedians! Their JOB is to make light of stuff because it’s entertaining! But, that will never stop me from overthinking the little things in these campaigns.

Last week when I went over for DnD, there was some music playing while we were getting settled in and that’s the norm. A few moments later then one of the other players was like “yeah this is a playlist I made for Sasha” and

One of my favorite trope for Steddie is Steve hunting down Eddie when the kids join Hellfire and giving him a long list of dos and donts.

At first Eddie thinks he’s just being a prick, and worried he’s going to turn the nerds into freaks like him. Especially when he says not to mention drugs in front of Dustin.

But then he starts pulling out lists of monsters that can’t be in campaigns. And like what??? Why can’t he use demagorgons? They were gonna be in the next combat! He’s tempted to ignore the warnings, in fact he’s all set to, but something about Steve’s face when he was laying it all out haunts him. Something so deadly serious about it. So first he decides to test the waters to see if he’s full of shit.

When the session starts, he makes a throwaway comment, “you’re acting like there’s a mindflayer around the corner.”

All the kids freeze but Wheeler especially looks like he’s going to be sick. He even grabs at the bracelet around his wrist. The one he always said his best friend made him before he moved.

Eddie curses himself for even trying to test it out after that, and immediately bullshits the whole session so he can scrap any hint of demogorgans from the campaign.

After that session he drives straight to Harringtons house and demands they go over all the things he can’t include again, in detail, while he takes notes.

He doesn’t know what’s going on with these freshmen, but he knows trauma when he sees it and well he’d gotten attached to the gremlins.

When he leaves that night, he thinks Steve is looking at him with approval. Like he trusts him with their well-being now.

My constant struggle when writing PWP

Matt saying there's no bigotry in the moderation team, and replying to people with "report harassment here!" is honestly so laughable to me cuz when I was known as trans-mom, I'd spend multiple hours a day talking to young trans people on the receiving end of harassment because their reports never went anywhere. From 2014 to like 2020 I spent a sizeable chunk of every day coming to this web site and having private conversations with kids and adults alike struggling with depression and dysphoria, which was often times really pushed to their limits by harassment campaigns by terfs and transphobes in general. This is how I first got popular, not silly meme posts, not smutty stories, I gained my popularity and my nickname of "mom" cuz I sat down and had to be the needed outlet of help and advice cuz Tumblr staff never helped trans people. The only real reason I stopped being so helpful and vocal is because by that point so many fake screencaps of me and fake call outs of me had generated so much hate I just could not navigate my activity or inbox anymore. I was there helping people with harassment but I myself was not able to figure out what to do when I was getting hatemail sent every hour, what I was supposed to do when nameless throwaway blogs suddenly had my dox and deadname (which I haven't used in over a decade), reports did nothing then, reports do nothing now. Matt just pointing people to report harassment is ridiculous, staff hates trans people. They always have.
