#one piece oc#dungeons and devil fruits#themetalhiro#other people's art#let it be known that this campaign is EXTREMELY AU mostly because our captain rolled the ‘king of the pirates’ dream#and there is no chance in davy jones’s locker of the daggertooth pirates beating the straw hats in THAT competition#so the daggertooths are basically taking the role of the straw hats in this version of the setting#there’s been a lot of development over the course of the campaign that ultimately led to her being established as a vinsmoke#most of it came about from rolling the Red Raid Suit on a loot table when we were doing a piracy#and bc gunner is the only one who doesn’t have a devil fruit she took the suit#then after she attuned to it the dm remembered that they’re genelocked#so we quickly worked something together behind the scenes#and it was decided that#1. vinsmoke sora has some distant three-eyes ancestry that judge wanted to tap into#2. lineage factor experiments to reactivate the genetic predisposition for the voice of all things resulted in the growth of a third eye#(2a. the third eye is actually attached to the same part of the three-eyed lineage factor as VOAT)#(2b. she has the pointed ears as a little treat for me personally from initial character creation)#3. because of the ‘kill on sight’ order re: three-eyes vinsmoke goji was sent away to be raised away from germa kingdom#beretta was what goji’s adoptive parents renamed her to conceal her true identity and she’s gotten attached to it#4. vinsmoke ichiji isn’t sparking red anymore now he’s sonic purple and he has thunder powers#she’s also trans and spent her timeskip training montage in kama land so iva did her a solid#pre-timeskip i had her presenting as male bc it wasn’t until i had started solidifying her character that i realized estrogen would fix her#but it’s been kind of cool how much easier she’s been to rp since her transition

I wish the deleted ending for TQoN was the real ending and not what we got in the mortal world.
#I usually don't mind close the loop at the end style#but 3 books of how Jude wanted to belong in Elfhame#to end in the mortal world where she didn't even like to be in#maybe it would make sense if the point was that Jude thought she would be fine if she had to go back to the mortal world forever#or it would have been a fine ending if is was Vivi's story#or part of Cardan's novela#compare talking pizza toppings and having the land react to Jude's footprints when she thought she would never belong on the islands#again three WHOLE books#yes Jude's family was very important to her#but they could all be in the place where she became Queen to end the trilogy#I'm ranting now but I just pretend the real epilogue is the deleted chapter#can you tell I'm preparing to reread TQoN when I learn to read again?#jude duarte#the queen of nothing#tfota#tfota rant#no one is going to read this I'm sure

BDS is a political program with the practical end result of "mass murder of jews," so yes it's pretty definitively antisemitic.
I don't think I've ever specifically mentioned BDS, have I?
In general, I think arguments of the form "X program would have Y result, therefore supporters of X support Y" are very weak unless you can make a very direct argument that X is inextricable from Y. It is not clear to me that the objectives of BDS, which per Wikipedia are
to pressure Israel to meet what the BDS movement describes as Israel's obligations under international law,[7] defined as withdrawal from the occupied territories, removal of the separation barrier in the West Bank, full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and "respecting, protecting, and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties".[8]
is inevitably functionally equivalent to "mass murder of jews." There seems to be a pretty long inferential chain there that I guess I'm missing.
#if by 'right of return' people mean a 'one state solution'#i'm skeptical that's workable#given the low support by both palestinians and israelis#but if by 'right of return' you mean compensation for lost land and property inside the 1967 border or w/e#that seems a pretty obviously necessary component of any serious peace process#the first three points just seem like they have to happen regardless#unless israel intends to ethnically cleanse all of gaza and the west bank#which needless to say#would be pretty bad!

it's actually so devastating that the first boy i ever loved and who loved me back was struggling with addiction and self harm and depression when we were together and like. it was never going to happen and we were never going to make it, despite my neverending hope that it would.
#and now im never going to love anyone again bc i wont survive it#i almost k*lled myself like three times after we broke up#and then when we got back into contact and i got closure i still ruined it with my overeagerness#and i landed myself in a fucking psych ward#so yea i dont think i can ever try to love anyone else again it's too dangerous and im going to have to be alone for the rest of my life#and im just sitting here bitter and tired bc my sister and my cousin will always choose their boyfriends over me#im always going to be the one left behind and i just need to accept it#while theyre moving in with their boyfriends and growing up and getting to do adult things ill just be stuck living in my moms house foreve#bc i dont think ill ever get better to the point that i could have those things too

Me when doing my environmental science homework, at every available opportunity:
#wish there were a class discord or a chill teacher so i could share it#fr though I'm like “oh we're talking about freshwater? hey did you know that agricultural runoff is causing accelerated eutrophication?”#and that a lot of the runoff is bc of erosion caused by the destruction of ecosystems and their vegetation that would've kept soil in place#and the runoff is mostly compromised of fertilizer and bacteria and pesticides from the agriculture and sediment from the eroded land#and that crop irrigation is so inefficient that literally 40% of irrigation water never reaches the crops#and don't even get me started on the FUCKING CORN SUBSIDIES#god those fucking corn subsidies#“hey boudicca what's the worst policy choice the us government made in the 1930s–40s?”#“was it American isolationism? maybe increased militarization? the garbage treatment of women and minorities?”#wrong! it was not stopping those fucking corn subsidies#(this is a joke obviously those other things were worse)#(I'm not actually saying this silly little agricultural practice was worse than Japanese internment don't worry)#but i AM saying that at some point they should've fucking phased out those goddamn corn subsidies#do you wanna know why California grows so much corn even though it's an incredibly water intensive crop and California is dry as shit?#I'll give you three guesses#anyway sorry for rambling my point is fuck industrial agriculture#agriculture#described

I was talking to Curtis about how certain aspects of Doctor Who would be treated if they were episodes of Torchwood and/or had that rating leniency of Torchwood (imo the limitations of Doctor Who make for better TV than Torchwood in general, but not always) and when I brought up Amy's Choice, Curtis said I should do an episode rewrite and.
Hm. Hmmm. That could be really interesting. Amy and Rory and the Doctor's dynamic would be so... different in a Torchwood rated show, given the things they do with them in Doctor Who, and if they actually used the Dream Lord as an interesting villain (and they'd actually be able to play into the Doctor's worst traits in an adult show! For better and for worse!)...
However I'd have to actually rewatch Amy's Choice, and also decide how much I want to stay faithful to the episode, how much I want to stay faithful to "what would/could Torchwood have done here, and how much I actually want the result to be. Good.
Because "what Torchwood would do" and "what would be interesting" are not necessarily the same things.
(Accidentally wrote a Novel in the tags also. Whoops.)

One with a very specific goal and set or rules might be interesting...... hm.......#(I do not like the episode Amy's Choice btw. to be clear. it had good potential and fun scenes and even fun concepts but my god.#was the “love triangle” the worst it had been in s5.#And that's also a thing I'd have to decide how to handle.#like if I was writing it to be GOOD I'd keep the love triangle conceptually#but focus more on how all three of the people involved fuck things up in different ways#jealousy and infidelity and betrayal and etc. so why do they stay? Make it about what they value in each other#and make Amy's titular choice matter in some way. Maybe she's the one who decides both realities are false#because she wouldn't leave either of her boys behind. Or something. Or drop the “which one is real” since that feels like it really muddied#the water with them ALSO making it about. Which one does Amy want. It was a writing choice I think was stupid. Anyways.#I had a point. My point is I think Torchwood would stumble this landing. Lean too heavily on the boys being dicks. Still focus on the love#/triangle/ part#to the detriment of the episode#like. One more thing. I do think Rory and the doctor fighting about Amy#and Amy being weird about her feelings for both of them. That's fine#and I don't WANT her to be normal and healthy about it. I want her to be weird and unethically nonmonogamous about it.#but I don't want her settling down as a wife in a normal respectable household being the end game. and THAT is what I can't stand about#Amy's Choice (canon version) and in general her seasons#and also what I think Torchwood would stumble on. Headfirst.#Still would have been a more fun episode than canon tho.)

My hot Drakengard take of the day is that after playing it for like 110 hours and counting im very much convinced that ppl who still complain about the gameplay being a "slog" just aren't playing the game correctly. you can hate me for this but you will not change my mind
#gu6chan's musings#drakengard#this isn't to say that it's not FLAWED (looking at you arbalesters...)#but i will say: three allies; seven types of weapons; SIXTY-FIVE WEAPONS IN TOTAL; ALL WITH DIFFERENT WEIGHTS; MAGIC; AFFECTS; ETC#now going back to flaws i will say its perfectly normal and not ridiculously hard to just beat the game without allies/using Caim's Sword#HOWEVER#i see way too many people complaining about this and that enemy being 'frustrating' when it rlly boils down to:#1. use a quicker weapon; or one with a longer range#2. THERE ARE BLOCK AND DODGE BUTTONS?????#the last part in particular x100000000 when you learn to actually block or dodge instead of letting yourself fall on your ass like a silly#little fool and then complain about bad game design the game itself becomes infinitely more playable#ill even argue that drakengards biggest flaw isn't even it's REPETITION (as a matter of fact; that's a strength) so much as the fact it#doesn't encourage/push players to explore and experiment with different weapons and features so much#anyways my advice: long-ranged (preferably fast for the latter!!) weapons for enemies like mages and arbalesters#lightweight weapons for quicker enemies like goblins so you can actually land a hit on them#and for god's sake; the dodge/block button exists for your benefit. use it#ALSO hitting enemies while jumping causes them to fall over and allows you a chance to crack a bit more at them if you have a weaker weapon#works REALLY good with quicker ones too!!!!!#oh AND there's a variation of the dash attack where when you speed up you can do a jump attack for extra points of damage PLUS get them to#fall over like mentioned prior. you can do it with your allies too and its a lot of fun#SPEAKING of allies don't forget them!! ever!!!! (heheh) ESPECIALLY not during later chapters they are there to help!!! let them!!!#uhhhh that should be it... maybe ill make a separate post with these tips but Drakengard is a fun game!! you just have to resist hypnosis!!#(and bad press)
