Have I told you I’m not used to drawing manga as well? Manga panels are pain. PAIN, I tell you. I shouldn’t have done this, but I did. I did, because every time I read the synopsis of this fic I keep picturing manga-like scenes. You should blame me for reading those AllYuu doujinshis.

It was… interesting experience. I was struggling a bit with the balloon consistency, like, do I use white boxes or just italic words for thoughts? Or maybe a balloon with a cloud-like border?

And there’s GoYuu (YuuGo? Idk honestly, don’t care lol) themselves. As I said, I literally have never drawn JJK-related content before. So when I started thinking about the panelling, I realised that I don’t really know how to draw Gojo, even more a thousand-year-old Yuuji. A whole day is spent researching Gojo, Yuuji and Sukuna’s appearances lol. Sukuna’s markings are a problem since I can’t find a full view of his markings. I know I can just finally watch the anime (yes I haven’t watched the anime, only some short clips; yes I know the animation is good, and I really want to watch it but my brain doesn’t want to) or re-read the manga, but I don’t want to ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿

After going through Google images, Twitter and Reddit, I whipped up a front drawing of GoYuu as my reference:

Gojo’s is easier because he hasn’t changed from the official (I blatantly eyeballing the character sheet I found haha), but Yuuji is different. Yuuji’s hair is longer; if I recall, there’s no exact description of his clothes. I assume he’s topless due to this description: Messy pink hair, long enough to cover the creature’s nape but not to hide the segmented dark markings running down his back, shifts in the wind.

And halfway through storyboarding, I realised that I have no experience using screen tones. Whatsoever. So off I go searching for a screentone bundle I can freely download and slowly figure my way out after fully lining the page.

And we haven’t even touched perspective, background, achromatic colouring, non-human characters—man, I really bite more than I can chew lmaooo

Also, I hope I’ll have time to draw more fanarts of JJK GoYuu fanfics because they live rent-free in my brain and I need them to get out. Maybe other pairings as well? I like quite a lot of pairings that involve Yuuji. He’s precious, and I love having it shown to me over and over through fanfics.

oh lord, this is TOUGH. i’ve read thousands of fanfics in my life and it’s borderline impossible for me to choose 😭

i can’t rlly separate them into genres per se bc most of them are multi chapter novel-length fics, but i will if applicable!

i’m not a huge fan of condensing entire works into a single word!!! authors work too hard for their writing to be trope-ified like that! so if any of the writers come across this post, please know that i would write fucking essays about these fics if y’all asked.

“the windows of this love” (byler angst) by delusional together (Whyyyyy) on ao3. phenomenal story, i cry every time i read it, and i’ve read it so many times it’s kind of a problem lmaooo. it was also one of my inspirations for TIMT.

“that blue gibson” (dave grohl x OC) by thatbluegibson on wattpad. a literal masterpiece. cute, romantic, fluffy, spicy, all of the above.

“the rawest desire (in it’s friendliest form)” (byler smut) by bangingbiddies on ao3. they have a very apropos username; this fic had me slamming my laptop shut multiple times and screaming at my cat. probably the best smut i’ve read tbh.

“i’m a wreck (without you here)” (byler angst) by @oldfashionedmorphine on ao3. INSANE. BEAUTIFUL. LYRICAL. i cannot praise this story highly enough, it’s one of my favorite byler fics of all time. alcoholic mike wheeler is my favorite mike wheeler ngl.

“second chances and dances” (byler angst/fluff) by @foodiewithdahoodie on ao3!!!! i’m a huge sucker for dad mike fics, and this one is *chefs kiss*

“lost without you” (byler angst/fluff) by julia_skysong on ao3. another dad mike fic i actually just finished for the 3rd fucking time in the past 6 months. i recommend reading this whole series, it’s so well written (and is still being written!!).

“fence sitter” (byler smut) by pinkcash on ao3. exactly what the title suggests. sensually spicy and severely suspenseful.

“boy in my class [gerard way]” by lilyrose93 on wattpad. it’s a gerard way x OC. very cute, very cliche, but if you’re looking for ✨fluff✨, this is it. and listen, i know writing about real people who are still alive is kinda weird but like… this one is serious, ok??? 💀

“tell me i’m a bad man” by therevengeparade on wattpad. along the same lines as the one before this— it’s teacher/student frerard. very messy, very smutty, top tier drama. if it helps at all, this was probably my initiation to gay fanfic. so… thanks therevengeparade!!! love u!!!

I was formerly on the wagon of Nick and Bree only liking each other because of the lines, but I think people who believe that don’t fully understand how wonderful of a Bree character is. The “call and response” was supplementary to their connection. Bree is wonderful and amazing and Nick fell in love with her on that alone.

…however…

The exact same thing applies to Bree and Sel. I don’t necessarily think either relationship is stronger than the other (beyond the fact that her and Sel have spent much more time together). I might have misunderstood what you were saying, but Sel and Bree have chemistry far beyond physical. Especially coming from Sel. Dude is obsessed with her (understandably). He didn’t fall in love with her immediately because he thought she was evil, but in the LB bonus chapter, you see almost the entire reason he thought that was because she’s so incredible. She’s not scared of him, so he thought she wasn’t human (I’m on the floor). Once he realized that she’s just Like That, he immediately dedicated his life to being around her 24/7.

I think Nick needed to disappear in Bloodmarked imo. Like I mentioned in my last post, dude has some Serious soul searching to do given how he clung to his power his whole life that he now no longer has due to the whole not being Arthur thing. There’s some foreshadowing in his few appearances in Bloodmarked that seems like he’s got some crazy shit going on, I’m very excited to see him again in Oathbound.

pt 2 of me trying to defend nick davis from avid sel fans "nick and bree only feel a connection because of arthur and lancelot--" but arthur and lancelot were entirely platonic. they weren't forced. tracy saying that made nick x bree feel unauthentic and made many people stop enjoying it.. but sel and bree have a connection in lb because of bree's bloodcraft?? selwyn and bree have chemistry. nick and bree also have a little more chemistry than just physical in my opinion (reminder, imo means im not forcing you to agree and you can have your own opinions. personally i'd love to hear about them)

"it'll be a cute poly relationship--" i don't think bree, nick, and sel should be in a poly relationship personally, RIGHT NOW. i have nothing against polyamorous people. but tracy didn't set it up that way. sure, there have been adorable moments between nick and sel, but then sel turns around and clarifies that'd it'd likely be toxic because sel's previous crush on nick when they were young was a mix of 'mutual hatred and affection' and that isn't good building blocks for a relationship. so if tracy can manage to fix that and maybe ease people into liking that idea, then maybe i'll like it as long as it doesn't feel too rushed. small clarification: im not saying that NO, THEY SHOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT START DATING EACH OTHER!! im saying that even the book has said that nick and sel just may not be a good fit right now. character development is still on the table though also, tracy keeps pushing nick away. why does she keep pushing nick away. so many people loved how nick and bree were together. i will literally start begging for some nick x bree content after bloodmarked
