(not hornyposting just musing lol) so i’m a singer-songwriter and performer irl and i’m thinking about the fact that i go around on a day to day basis singing serious, professional songs that use dogs and brainwashing and cannibalism as painful heartbroken metaphors. and i’ve been doing this for years but little by little all these things i process my anguish through in songwriting, have also become how i satisfy my sex drive. and i don’t know what to do with that information i just think it’s wild!! fun fact abt me i guess. i go out there in public singing about how service is my fulfillment and calling myself a good boy and i sing about wanting to be violently torn apart and eaten and i’m like. yeah it’s a metaphor. yeah dw i’m really normal. i don’t fantasize about having my humanity stripped from me and being treated like a stupid sweet puppy barking and whining for my lovers sick and twisted pleasure what are you TALKING about. i just like the poetic imagery of it. i SWEAR.
#i just think it’s silly….#like no joke i’ve written five songs this school year and lets see#there’s one about being a ‘‘silly stupid angel’’ who’s degraded and abused and idealized and stripped of all dignity#(yes it’s a commentary on the patriarchy. yes it’s about the toxic relationship i was in at the time. it’s also several of my kinks in one)#there’s one called GOOD BOY about being a dog. whining and kicking up the dirt. growling and whimpering. being taken advantage of#ITS JUST A METAPHOR. obviously. i actually wasn’t into puppy play yet when i wrote that song iirc. guess it got to me….#then there’s the cannibalism one. i gave my soul up you can eat me raw diced up and vulnerable i’m yours to try#it’s a ummmm it’s just a commentary. (also about my toxic relationship. he didn’t want to fuck OR eat me. but somehow still used me)#anyway the other two are just normal one is about filtering myself for him and the other is about being oppressed and poor and angry lol#still though. the fact that over half my songs are literally my kinks turned into poetry. and NOBODY KNOWS#it’s not my fault that those things are on my mind ALL THE TIME. what am i supposed to write songs about if not being a stupid puppy??#i don’t think anyone on my kink blog ACTUALLY wants to hear about this but my kinks are secret so this is the only place i can post about i#hope u can get some sort of psychological insight about me?? or idk stalk me?? show up 2 my shows and kidnap and use me?? who said that#i’m not even like. wet rn i’m just on here as reflex. and i’m THINKING. abt my TWISTED MIND and the weird shit i write about#in an intellectual way. cause i’m not USING my KINK BLOG this week. cause i SAID SO cause i need to KEEP MY WITS ABOUT ME#so i’m gonna be so normal. and not touch myself even a little bit cause i need to sleep and i need to move house and i need to be so normal#unrelatedly: tomorrow i’ll be one month on testosterone!! definitely hasn’t awakened anything in me….#anyway. anyway. i’m going to try to go to bed. probably going to end up edging myself stupid instead though#will just have 2 see what happens…. god it would be a shame if someone came in and used my sleeping body. who said that

vriska still sucks idk
#homestuck#i get very mad that supposedly she is the missing ingredient. what about literally every other character.#what about how she never actually improved or got better#what about all the things she did that the narrative literally rewards her for even though they were literally shitty.#vriska salt#sorry.#WHAT ABOUT HOW AT THE END WHEN SHE AND TEREZI ARE MOIRAILS SHE USES HER FEAR OF GAMZEE TO MANIPULATE HER. THAT'S INSANE.#THATS NOT HEALTHY AT ALL????#also unrelatedly why is she the gamzee punisher.#vriska in charge of punishing ga#mzee for murder and abusive relationship crimes. yeah that tracks vriska has definitely never done murder or abuse.#that is a lie. she has done the same shit. how is she the arbiter of what punishment is for that when she doesnt get punished at all.#that just seems so wild.

PLEASE TELL US ABOUT Y DDRAIG TRAWS!
Certainly! I'm more than happy to oblige.
First though I'm gonna need to tldr: the history of Y Ddraig Goch before we get onto the (accidentally) canonically trans part.
A brief history of Y Ddraig Goch:
(The modern Welsh flag)
Y Ddraig Goch first appears in the tales of the Mabinogi (Charlotte Guest version) in the tale of Lludd and Llefelys where it is fighting a white dragon. The fight is also described/expanded upon in the c. 829 AD text Historia Brittonum (attributed to Nennius) - where the red dragon represents Wales and the white dragon represents the Anglo-Saxons. In the story the red dragon triumphs over the white. Of course, Geoffrey of Monmouth also covers the story c. 1136 in Historia Regnum Brittaniae in which he introduces the concept of the red dragon heralding the arrival of King Arthur.
Geoffrey of Monmouth claims Arthur used a banner featuring a golden dragon. But we also know the accuracy of Monmouth can be questionable at times. Owain Glyndŵr did use a banner with a golden dragon called Y Ddraig Aur - raised in 1401 at Caernarfon - Glyndŵr chose this banner as a nod to the supposed banner of Arthur and his father.
Later on the Tudor monarchs (being a Welsh family) adopted a red dragon on a white and green background in their heraldry. Eventually Y Ddraig Goch on a white and green background became the official badge of Wales in 1800. The design became the official flag of Wales in 1959.
Y Ddraig Traws:
Now for the thing you're all here for -
So, as outlined, the history of the dragon as a national symbol of Wales goes back a long way. If we're just talking post-1959, there's some interesting implications for Y Ddraig Goch's depiction.
This is what the Welsh flag (and Y Ddraig Goch) looked like in 1959 when it was officially adopted as the flag of Wales. It looks broadly the same as the first flag and has some common features - such as not having a penis (or, as in the correct heraldic terminology - a pizzle). Meanwhile, in the arms of the Tudors (specifically Henry VII)
(Tudor dragon with pizzle) vs (dragon on the flag of Cardiff - pizzleless)
the penis is almost always included. So much to the point that the present royal family still includes the penis. While pretty much 0 depictions of the dragon in Wales include a penis. So you could interpret this as the dragon is seen as male only by the British royal family and as female everywhere else (which kinda implies that at some point the Tudor dragon had an mtf transition in Wales and she keeps getting misgendered by the royal family every time she is depicted in (mostly) England).
So much to the point that in 1995 this pound coin was made by the Royal Mint featuring the pizzle on the dragon with all four feet touching the ground as opposed to standing up (passant rather than rampant).
But in Wales you'd be hard pressed to see a pizzled dragon anywhere. Ergo, we can only conclude Y Ddraig Goch is trans and she transitioned in Wales and keeps getting misgendered in England.
[note: This is mostly tongue in cheek - but I do think it's fun to extrapolate that the Welsh dragon is trans because of the differences in depiction between Wales and England. Like many things Welsh, it is misrepresented by England and the idea of the Welsh dragon being misgendered only in England is, I think, a good metaphor for a whole lot of English treatment of Wales.]
Unrelatedly, there is a gay Welsh flag held at the National Museum of Wales which has a very wonky dragon which I find very endearing.
(cleaned up version I made)
So much so I made it an emoji in my Welsh bilingual LGBTQIA+ Discord (requirements for joining are - be 16+, either speak or are learning Welsh and identify as LGBTQIA+ in some way. Dm for link!).
(triaist ti 'you tried' emoji)
~ Completely unrelatedly ~ never forget the time someone was trying to homophobic to me by suggesting that I was disrespecting all the soldiers who died 'for the Welsh flag' by making it rainbow colours and not red - arguing that any change of colour of the dragon was disrespectful. Reader, my bus pass at the time for Mid Wales Travel had a purple dragon on it.
#cymraeg#welsh#cymblr#cwiar#trawsryweddol#traws#trans#trans dragon#y ddraig goch#welsh dragon#welsh history#dragons#wyverns#last tag because technically Owain's golden dragon is technically a wyvern

I'm not saying that Scott Hope was right to spread the rumor that Buffy was a lesbian, but consider how his three episodes in Season 3 play out from his perspective:
He meets Buffy at the Bronze and asks her to dance, but instead she chooses to leave in rapid pursuit of some girl he's never seen before.
The next day he's walking out of class when he runs into that girl again (even though he must be pretty sure she doesn't go to his school), he recognizes her as Buffy's new friend and he's chatting to her when Buffy runs up and all but drags her away.
Once he actually starts dating Buffy, he notices that she's "distracted" all the time, she keeps giving him mixed signals about how serious she wants to take their relationship, and often runs off in the middle of conversations with the flimsiest of excuses
Also, presumably unrelatedly, she's spending a lot of time hanging out in the school library with that girl from before, who he now must know definitely doesn't go their school. They don't seem to be reading a lot of books.
After he breaks up with Buffy, he runs into the same girl again at the Homecoming dance (and, remember, she does not go to this school) and she seems to be really angry with him. If Scott asks around later, he might find out that she was there using the tickets that he and Buffy originally got for themselves.
A couple of months later, he might also hear that Buffy was in the middle of a chemistry test when the girl in question showed up outside and drew a heart on the window, and that Buffy responded by climbing out of the window and running off with her.
I mean, at this point, what would you think was going on?

More vessel biology headcanons?
Vessels are actually really, really good at burrowing. It’s probably how so many escaped the abyss after they got sealed. They got it from both parents, and the void. Which per my silly little brain, can old be contained in round glass.
the void basically erodes/decays things in fast forward otherwise?
Vessels all have one major flaw or imperfection the void couldn’t remove, THKs was either a desire for perfection or being able to make familial bonds.
Ghosts flaw is an endless well of willpower. They will never, ever, stop. They inherited from their mothers conceptual side, because their will is the slow burrowing of roots through stone and the deceptively gentle trickle of water on metal. Greenpath vessels was a sense of adventure/desire to explore. And the nosk vessels all had a sense of longing for companionship which led to their deaths.
The vessels also seem to have physical flaws too? Like structurally I mean. The prime example is THKs missing arm, in the pure vessel boss fight that same arm is what they use for the void tendrils attack and by the time we fight them in the egg it’s entirely rotted off. I think it honestly was never as strong or stable as the other arm and was bound to be lost eventually. Broken Vessels flaw would be their third horn(the one that’s broken off).
Vessels actually do still have some of their own light, you can see this in game actually—even without the lantern you give off a subtle glow. I think that some vessels actually retained some of the godly light and status they otherwise would have had, only a little though.
The above idea comes from my headcanon that Wyrms specifically are really resistant to void as far as gods go, because they always dig deep and far and in that sometimes burrow into pockets of void far below the surface. They need to be able to survive contact with it in the short term at least. This nature would explain how some vessels retain minute traces of light, and why the pale king was the one actually standing at the mouth of the abyss waiting for vessels.
given time, soul, and light a vessel can grow to enormous sizes- or eventually metamorphose into a wyrm proper. Albeit one still tarnished by the void
in fact I wonder if any of the seeds/eggs dropped into the abyss hatched young Wyrms instead of vessels? Maybe they escaped or something? I don’t think this is likely but it’s a cool idea.
vessels are deceptively light, as in like hornet could carry THK on her back if she needed to- they’re literally hollow in a way
Void and water don’t mix, it’s like oil and water. That’s why we float in the blue lake.
The void itself might be the remnants of an ancient sea that covered the world beyond Hallownest before the age of bright gods. It would explain the trilobite creature we see in deepnest and the way the abyss and the rest of Hallownest appear to be made of fossilized shells. Plus if it’s the remnants of the sea then it could be something like a microbial mat that’s really toxic to life? Like maybe it’s a magic microbial soup? Magic microbial goop even. Vessels are goop.
Vessels are really really strong compared to other ways of containing things, like THK held the radiance for a long ass time. If a vessel tried to contain a weaker god they’d probably just be able to tbh. Like anything weaker than the nightmare heart if probably fair game for yoinking.
Vessels also sometimes inherit the hunger of Wyrms, and looking into their eyes gives the sensation of falling into the maw of some great beast. Godseaker did call Little Ghost a wielder of nail and eater of soul
Vessels are also really susceptible to outside influences, kinda like evee if they were Pokémon. This is how Ghost can use so many charms at once but also why said charms can change them so easily.
Theoretically a vessel raised by or containing a god could take on some of their traits-either by force or by accident.
Unrelatedly THK has a voice to cry out with…
I think radiance may have eventually tried turning them into something more like Grimm is for the heart, a body for her to use and a mind thoroughly broken to her will.
after-all she shines brightest against the darkness…
If they could eat, Vessels would have a truly remarkable number of tastebuds, because Wyrms will eat anything and I feel like the white lady has ways to “taste” the soil to see if it’s nutrient rich and has fertilizer.
man I’m just realizing, vessels would like some weird food, they’d definitely eat dirt
THK crunching on crystals?? Likely
Finally the horns of vessels are actually their “branches” and will keep growing indefinitely unless trimmed or broken periodically, this comes from both parents. Wyrms need to constantly replace burrowing teeth and Roots are beings of constant growth and pruning.
#wow that was long#hollow knight#hk vessels#speculative biology#headcanon#pure vessel#little ghost#hk pale king#what do you think?

What do you think the tone of Cersei's and Jamie's chapters will be in Winds of Winter? Will they be somewhat apocalyptic?
I’m not sure if “apocalyptic” would be exactly the word I would choose, if only because, well, there is a literal apocalypse coming courtesy of the Others sooner rather than later. However, if by “apocalyptic” you mean “momentous”, “catastrophic” and “foreboding imminent disaster or final doom”, then I very much agree. Cersei and Jaime I think are both hurtling toward a terrible, shared climax, one that can only end, as foretold long ago, in violence and death.
For Cersei, I think the tone of her chapters may be briefly triumphant, but will be overall characterized by increasing paranoia of the people and events around her. Though I very much believe Cersei is going to win her trial by combat (whatever her feelings might be toward the trial itself, especially if Lancel is the Faith’s champion), and may have a moment of celebration and validation as a result, Cersei I think will not at all believe her problems are over. The murder of Kevan (likely to be read by Cersei, as prophesied by Varys, as a conspiracy by the newly minted Hand Mace Tyrell), combined with the likelihood that Margaery and her cousins will be acquitted by the Faith, will I think convince Cersei that the fatal (in every sense of the word) danger she believe Margaery poses to her and Tommen is very much still active. Moreover, that internal threat Cersei is going to believe she still faces from the Tyrells (and, not entirely unrelatedly, the Faith and its High Sparrow) is going to be exacerbated by the approaching external threat of Aegon and Arianne. As a result, I think Cersei’s chapters are going to reflect her increasing anxiety and sense of oracular doom - as she realizes (I think) that Arianne is the younger and more beautiful queen, and as she eventually realizes that it is her own once-beloved twin that will fulfill the valonqar prophecy. Speaking of whom …
I find it a bit more difficult personally to predict the tone of Jaime’s chapters, if only because I’m not sure what precisely Jaime’s takeaway will be of his portion of Lady Stoneheart’s plot (especially given that, at least until this point, he’s not quite come to terms with the injustices committed by his father and his family’s faction, himself included). Nevertheless, I do think we’re going to see a tonal shift to determined, resolute fury once Jaime learns about the outcome of Cersei’s trial - which is to say, when Jaime realizes that Cersei has, officially, taken the position that she never so much as looked at Jaime with impropriety (and been legally recognized as such), ostensibly to save her own skin. All of Jaime’s bitter reflections from AFFC and ADWD on Cersei’s infidelity, and all of his murderous musings, are I think going to crystallize into a singular sense of purpose - to return to King’s Landing, not to rescue Cersei as she begged in her letter, but to kill her. And if you need a sense of how dark and disturbing a tone such a moment could have … well, just read about the almost identical murder of Marguerite of Burgundy in The Strangled Queen.

understanding norse runes: a historical and modern perspective pt. 2
Here's part two! If you need clarification on anything please lmk! <3
For part 1 click here.
ᚺ hagalaz
ANGLO-SAXON:
"Hail is the whitest of grain;
it is whirled from heaven's loft
tossed about by wind gusts,
then melts into water."
NORWEGIAN:
"Hail is the coldest of grains:
Christ created the primaeval world."
(not the Christian Christ, just an epithet for Odin)
ICELANDIC:
"Hail is cold grain
and driving sleet
and sickness of serpents."
INTERPRETATION: Starting out strong, hagalaz thankfully only has one meaning, and that's "hail." Unrelatedly, this rune is also one of the first overtly negative runes (of course, the meaning truly depends on the surrounding staves you pull, but nevertheless), representing uncomfortable change, possibly a crisis. Associated with the goddess Hel, it represents both her aspects: the cold goddess of death, and the plentiful goddess of life. Hagalaz shows us that change is on the horizon, but that it will be a time of learning, of becoming evermore wiser. Similar to The Moon card in tarot, this stave also represents the secrets of the runes, the dark side. A side we nevertheless have to confront in order to overcome great stressors. Doubtlessly, this transformation will cause us some pain, but hail is considered the seed of possibilities. Though in solid form it may hurt or harm us, when melted it may nourish the struggling sapling. It has great potential, especially considering this is the ninth rune, a number that appears repeatedly in Norse Mythology. This stave has us confronting our worst fears and suffering, and telling us to learn from them, to become a better person. We have to create our own inner harmony, despite whatever may get in our way.
KEY WORDS: Disruption, upheaval, catalyst, potential
ASSOCIATIONS: Hel, the Norns (specifically Urdh, the past), Heimdall
ᚾ nauthiz
ANGLO-SAXON:
"Need is nearest to the breast,
yet often proves to children of men
a source of help and healing
if they heed it betimes."
NORWEGIAN:
"Need leaves little choice;
the naked man is chilled by frost."
ICELANDIC:
"Need is distress of thrall-woman
and state of oppression
and hard work."
INTERPRETATION: A rune often associated with the Norns, especially Skuld (the future), nauthiz is all about "necessity" and inevitability. The future is inescapable, but it can be used to our advantage. To understand this rune, we have to understand our own needs and purpose(s) as well. Usually, these are outside of our control. A lack of food caused by war creates a necessity for food. It is outside of the individual sufferer's hands. However, it can spur a person to act in whatever way they can, it's the spark of what is called the "needfire," vital to cause and effect. Need defines action defines life. Yes, this rune can be interpreted as a negative one, no doubt. But, again, runes are not as simple and straightforward as Tarot. If you pulled kenaz with nauthiz, you might look more closely at the "needfire" aspect of this reading, or if you pulled wunjo you might see this as more of a needs to an end. Which, really, that's all this rune represents: the needs to an end. You are not stuck in this state of lack, rather it is the lack that will turn the Norns' bow-drill to usher in a new era. Whereas hagalaz is more of a rigid, set in stone, nauthiz is about moving on from that suffering.
KEY WORDS: Necessity, inevitability, the future, constraint, hardship
ASSOCIATIONS: The Norns (specifically Skuld)
ᛁ isa
ANGLO-SAXON:
"Ice be overcold, unmeasurably slippery,
glisteneth clear as glass, to gems likest;
a floor by frost wrought, fair to be seen."
NORWEGIAN:
"Ice we call the broad bridge;
The blind man must be led."
ICELANDIC:
"Ice is bark of rivers
and roof of the wave
and destruction for doomed men."
INTERPRETATION: Isa, true to its similar pronunciation, just means "ice." In this way, it has two divinatory meanings: one as an unmoving, unwavering shield, and one as a static, frozen object/individual. It can help to lessen disturbances and chaos, to soothe the fires of the earlier runes. This stave can mean stasis, but it can also mean clarity, a deep concentration. Stuck in the ice, you would have an awful long time to think, no? Rest is important for all things, but especially so in times of chaos. When the fires of kenaz or thurisaz get too hot, isa is there to cool things down. Furthermore, though, this rune can represent an unwilling stagnation, a frustrating situation or relationship. Stuck quarreling with a lover, this rune would be emblematic of how the reader would be feeling in that moment. Similarly, we can take this rune to represent the present, the Norn Verdandi. As a rune of advice, the reader is being told to watch and wait, to get a lay of the land before continuing onward. As much as a swirling blizzard can freeze you out, an igloo can keep you safe from the perils of frostbite, so it all depends on the adjacent runes in the reading. What do you need before you can continue? What is the crux of what's holding you back? All of these are things you need to consider.
KEY WORDS: Stagnation, pause, waiting, patience, preservation
ASSOCIATIONS: The Norns (especially Verdandi)
ᛃ jera
ANGLO-SAXON:
"Summer is called joyful, when God lets,
holy heaven's king--shining fruits
be born from earth for rich and poor."
NORWEGIAN:
"Harvest is a blessing to men;
I say that Frodhi was liberal."
ICELANDIC:
"Harvest is a blessing to men
and good summer
and fully ripe crops."
INTERPRETATION: An often encouraging stave to pull in a reading, jera's literal translation is "year." In the harsher climates of the North, it is easy to lose track of the four seasons, and have the warmer and colder months blend together. In this way, jera represents not only summer, but also a good harvest. Every year, as the wheel of the year makes its rounds, crops must be yet again sown, cared for, and yielded. The old is reborn and the young turns to old. A symbol of dance, play, and marriage, this rune can also be associated with Freyja and Freyr, two deities strongly associated with the summertime. In divination, jera advises us to see everything as a constantly moving cycle. As soon as bad things come, they will leave, and good things replace them. Nothing is permanent, not even our most cherished. If blocked or neglected, a poor harvest is almost assured, and suffering is indicated. But when nurtured the right way, it can heal the deepest wounds and give rebirth to the greatest joys. An emphasis is also placed on creating new relationships and strengthening existing ones. Cherish your friends and family whenever possible.
KEY WORDS: Harvest, cycle, repetition, plenty
ASSOCIATIONS: Freyja and Freyr
ᛇ eihwaz
ANGLO-SAXON:
"The yew outside is a rough-barked tree,
but strong and firm, guard of fires,
by deep roots upheld, joy to the home."
NORWEGIAN:
"Yew is the greenest of trees in winter;
when it burns, it sputters."
ICELANDIC:
"Yew is bent bow
and brittle iron
and Farbauti of the arrow."
INTERPRETATION: Eihwaz is known as the "yew," and often represents Yggdrasil, the World Tree that Odin hung himself from over nine days and nine nights for the knowledge of the runes. Because of this, this stave often represents spiritual enlightenment, and connection between the physical and metaphysical realms. As the yew was consistently used for bow-making, this is a rune also associated with hunting and the wild (and furthermore masculinity, but I find that to be a bit sexist). A bridge between life and death, sky and earth, the heavens and the Underworld, eihwaz is a great rune for communing, divination, or necromancy. It is a connection between paradoxes, between opposites, and is also associated with graveyards. But no matter what, these connections have to be made thoughtfully, and with great trepidation. Carelessness has no place in this space, as it could just as easily turn from good to bad. -==32
KEY WORDS: Enlightenment, transformation, connection, paradox
ASSOCIATIONS: Odin, Yggdrasil
ᛈ perthro
ANGLO-SAXON:
"The chess piece means play and laughter
where in the middle, the warriors sit
in beerhall blithely together."
INTERPRETATION: Considering it was a letter commonly used, perthro has a fairly ambiguous meaning of "lot cup" or "game piece." Either way, the literal interpretation involves the drawing of lots, and chance. Divination wise, perthro is said to represent both the dice and the mode of throwing the dice, simultaneously mysterious and all-knowing. Considering this wealth of knowledge that perthro is said to contain, it is no wonder that it is heavily associated with Mimir, who is renowned for his wisdom. Furthermore, because of it's association with vessels (odd, I know), this stave also represents with the female womb and childbirth. For this reason, it is also associated with Frigg, a seeress and goddess of childbirth. Frigg, though she is said to know all, she also tells nothing. This doubles down on the mysterious, hidden powers of perthro, being both the runes themselves and their meanings. Additionally, being a rune of fate, it represents the Norns as a whole, and their powers.
KEY WORDS: Fate, luck, mystery, secrets, feminine energy
ASSOCIATIONS: Mimir, Frigg, Norns
ᛉ algiz
ANGLO-SAXON:
"Elk-sedge is found most often in fens,
waxes in water, wounds grimly,
with blood burns whatever warrior
that goes to grasp it."
INTERPRETATION: Aha! My favorite rune, how exciting. A rune meaning "elk," algiz is a powerful protective symbol. Considering the imagery of an elk, we can draw connections to god of the hunt, Freyr, who is often depicted with antlers. From Freyr we can then discern meanings of sexual awakening, the fighting spirit, and divine communication. With it's three pronged appearance we can create a number of different interpretations: the elements, a sacred forest grove, masculinity/femininity, the Yggdrasil, and even the Bifrost. I've also seen people consider it as a double-edged sword of a stave, a protective symbol but only as long as you have enough power and discipline to wield it. This is especially pertinent if we consider this as a rune of divine protection, as it would be doubtlessly foolhardy to demand protection from the gods while giving nothing in return. A weapon that can be wielded by you or against you.
KEY WORDS: Protection, guardian, sanctuary, the hunt
ASSOCIATIONS: Freyr
ᛊ sowilo
ANGLO-SAXON:
"Sun to seamen is a hope on high
when they ferry over the fishes' bath
until the sea-horse brings them to land."
NORWEGIAN:
"Sun is the light of the lands;
I bow to heaven's doom."
ICELANDIC:
"Sun is shield of the sky
and shining ray
and destroyer of the ice."
INTERPRETATION: Alright! Last one for this aett, sowilo means "sun." Not only the literal sun, this stave represents the force of the heavens, the wealth that it provides and the harm that it can cause. It brings illumination and clarification, as it also shows us where our path lays--what our goals may be. If we consider a connection between the sun god Apollo (a bright, beautiful youth) and Baldr (also a bright, beautiful youth), then new aspects can be revealed to us such as victory, strength, life force, and energy. It encourages us to have hope in our future, and to look towards the horizon. Just like the wheel of the sun whirls around the cosmos, so too does sowilo encourage us to break our stagnation and act. What we desire is within our grasp, all we have to do it reach out and grab it! This rune is one of great positivity and encouragement, and is a pleasure to see in a reading.
KEY WORDS: Success, illumination, achievement, energy
ASSOCIATIONS: Baldr

something about john winchester mischaracterisation just needles me inexplicably. i can deal with it if a fic is good otherwise but cmon. you have to Get Him. he loves the boys and he ruins their lives like come on….. if you don’t get that he loves them then how r u even getting dean’s character considering that dean is The Same in this manner. love can be bad love doesn’t change abuse it just complicates it etc etc.
unrelatedly but also relatedly, i don’t think he’d be actually homophobic because i don’t think he has time to care. i do however think dean would be absolutely convinced he is incredibly homophobic for unknown reasons. john probably makes like an offhanded comment about something being gay once and 15 year old dean (very attracted to men. genuinely no idea whatsoever. still feels intense rush of panic at the word) decides it must mean john desperately and intensely HATES gay people and proceeds to become world’s best baby homophobe for like a year before he starts to think Maybe Sammy’s gay (sam likes to read books) and cools down on the homophobia. also his heart was never really in it. but he still thinks john is homophobic and has also decided sam’s probably gay (sam is more attracted to women than dean is) so he worries about this a lot.
then one day john says extremely casually about sam Sometimes I wonder if he’s not a little queer, you know, and dean’s heart stops and he’s like What no of course not what and john’s like If it means he doesn’t get into as much trouble with girls as you seem to, I honestly don’t mind and dean’s just like. What. but by this point it’s far too late and all fragments of homosexuality have been far buried beneath the surface by his subconscious. Also it’s important that john WOULD be kind of annoyed by dean being gay. he already thinks sam is weird and has decided to love him anyway (although i’m not sure sam got the memo about being loved anyway so the effort was useless) so it’s ok if sam is gay (privilege of being the family freak!) but dean is meant to be mini him. #picking up girls. see that journal entry. he’d get over it though.
#I’m sorry but it is INFINITELY more compelling that john winchester is crazy protective and controlling and loves them to the point he#sacrifices his life for them#seeing those glimpses of 70s era john winchester. insanely fascinating.#Anyway this post really changed direction😭sorry guys#gay dean winchester#bi dean winchester#john winchester#oliver talks#spn#spn meta#it’s very important to me that both dean and john genuinely think for a bit that sam is gay. and then sam grows up and is a lesbian so#essentially they were right (im joking) (im not)

okay so. this is now in-episode knowledge: Ruby got swapped to the End Kingdom. unrelatedly, Anathra found a tent on Spruce Mountain containing Ruby's hidden chest (and seeing inside it crashed him so hard he had to force reboot).
discussing stuff we havent seen in an episode yet:
hey Ruby what are you doing on Spruce Mountain. hey. why did you move out before the island swap.
being transparent: i got asked to design a Spruce outfit and End outfit for Ruby, and that is the entire amount of my knowledge. genuinely when i saw him using the Spruce skin i thought that was where he got swapped to and that the End skin was for something else
did Ruby just.. leave? there's potential that she knows something is up with Vintage, as well as potential of her finding out Rue exists and is now... mysteriously missing... and she hasn't exactly been around Vintage much after getting broken out of her tube. also there's however you could interpret the fact that Ruby couldnt wake up while Rue was alive.
tbh ze could've set up shop at Spruce to have a secondary location where people wouldnt expect to look for hir, considering ze got ambushed by Avid. thatd definitely cause paranoia issues, especially when ze's trying to keep the chest hidden and Cherry has been undergoing extensive renovations-- ze's still not ready to tell Vintage, and she would absolutely have a lot of questions if she found it while building roads or something
..also it seems like their mimicry is back? Endbyco got pretty altered by being in the End Kingdom, and you could probably make a case for Spruceby being either just an outfit change for the cold weather or a mimic moment. all of this is throwing spaghetti at a wall, though, bc we're not gonna know anything for sure until Ruby's next episode considering we still dont really know what even happened to Ruby after they woke up (and did Birch Games).
i guess the question now is.. the island swap is over. is Ruby gonna go back to Cherry, or is it going to stay hiding out in Spruce?

i spent a lot of time in the infirmary today monitoring one of the unwell laymen; he was asleep most of the time, and so my eyes drifted to the various herbs on the shelves. in light of this, here’s what your favourite herb says about you:
tansy: you’re one of my fun girlies. you’re always down for a good time, you always match the other person’s vibe, you’re the backbone of every banquet you’ve ever attended. you definitely know the lyrics to all the latest hymns.
agrimony: i don’t know what to tell you. if your favourite herb is agrimony, that’s an autism diagnosis right there. my favourite herb is also agrimony, but that’s unrelated.
radish: it’s giving high maintenance. and that doesn’t have to be a bad thing! because, ultimately, even though you’re high maintenance, and even though to use radish for painful urination you have to boil it and reduce it and then make a poultice and it takes a long time, in the end, it’s worth it! everyone needs different things— and that’s okay!
wormwood: you’re one of the most chill people i know, to the point where i begin to worry. someone could tell you that they saw the abbot and the prior making out in the refectory and you wouldn’t react at ALL. you definitely wouldn’t pass the knowledge on to anyone else. anyway unrelatedly. i have something to talk to you about. it’s to do with something i saw in the refectory.
mint: it is only through my love for all of god’s creatures, no matter how initially loathsome, that i respect you at all. change your ways; and soon.
sage: a basic choice. i bet your favourite prayer time is vespers too. find something more original.
rosemary: <33333 love you bestie never stop believing in yourself. please nobody ever show this sweet summer child an ao3 account or let them speak to brother eustace
#i am aware that this is not every herb we have in the infirmary or in the herb garden#if i've missed your favourite herb comment and i'll tell you what it says about you#monkposting

the doctor initially doesn't like tea. i mean, it's weird, isn't it? you put animal juice in with plant juice and then heat it all up with water? does this not strike you as absurd? he gets over it fairly quickly, and gets into it when he's stuck on earth. coincidentally, the doctor has a horrific sweet tooth, and the third doctor puts so much sugar in their tea that the brigadier genuinely fears for their life. unfortunately, he can't seem to find a way to get the doctor to drink less tea, or use less sugar, and therefore has to start budgeting for bloody sugar cubes, of all the damn things. (the un has... questions.) when the doctor regenerates he isn't any less likely to drink tea with added sugar, or perhaps more accurately sugar with added tea, but at some point the doctor lands sarah in a market whose novelty is selling items that happen to perfectly resemble other items, and as luck would have it, one of the items on sale is salt that perfectly resembles sugar. in a desperate bid to stop the doctor's sweet tooth (which, it should be noted, is perfectly harmless, on account of him being gallifreyan), sarah replaces all the sugar on the tardis with salt. the real problem is that the doctor doesn't really notice, and just gets used to drinking salty (albeit with less salt than he used to add sugar) tea. the upshot of all of this is that adric and nyssa are both convinced tea is supposed to taste terrible, and cannot be convinced otherwise. it takes until meeting luke smith and discussing the doctor's deranged salt-in-tea habits and sarah's deranged orange-eating habits for the two of them to realise that the doctor and sarah are, in fact, outliers. unrelatedly the doctor slowly goes off drinking tea so much after leaving unit, and at one point or another stops drinking it altogether. he eventually does return to it, though, now with sugar again instead of salt, and that's why the twelfth doctor puts so much sugar in his tea that clara genuinely fears for his life.

um so i NEED some more starcest because why is there so little on this app?? do you have any headcanons for them? i like them being toxic but i also really enjoy them being soft and in love. they can't exactly be healthy cause.. they're literally brothers but yk it's still nice to see them being loving instead of straight toxic
Oh same, I need more Starcest always! Have you gone through the whole AO3 tag? There are so many great fics!
I too love a good mix of soft and toxic. Like soft to the point where They Were All Each Other Had until Hogwarts, and Sirius was very self-sacrificial for him, very protective, always took the blows from their parents in Reggie's place if he could... but then some quality angst as they get driven apart by house rivalry, ideology, socialization, etc. My HCs for them are a lot less rigid than the ones I have for like, Sirry or Prongsfoot, but I love the idea that their bond still burned bright throughout their Hogwarts years, like they'd sneak off to be together (platonically or otherwise), Sirius still defended him from bullies (even if Reggie tried to pretend he didn't need the help). I love Regulus being seethingly jealous of James, like "you're mine, Sirius, you've always been mine" and that's how the Incest Feels™ come out.
I do HC that Sirius tried to get Reg to come with him when he ran away, and when he refused, Sirius was heartbroken. And of course, Sirius has a tattoo of the Leo constellation, which he got right after he ran away, still raw with grief and missing him horribly.
On the deader dove side, I also love the idea of them being so isolated as kids that they experimented with each other from a fairly young age and never saw it as wrong. Bless.
Hmm, what else. Reg is a bottom but a bratty one, I feel like that's pretty standard, hehe. They both learned French growing up (Malfoys too) and still speak it together in bed (as does Draco, unrelatedly), or when they want to have private convos. And they both play violin, though Regulus was the only one passionate enough about it to keep it up. Sirius, obv, went for guitar. I love the idea of him introducing Reggie to classic Muggle rock, and Reg pretending not to love it, then stealing his vinyls (I think I put that in a fic? ha).
Thanks for the ask! :D
