Tethers, definitely the tethers. I can't count the number of times I've seen a wipe because the right person snapshotted on either side of the string or the wrong person wandered too close to the boss, of even just because the string giver and the string taker happened to both be moving at the same time.

I am not counting one-off mechanics like Nisi, Allagan Rot, Subtract, or Larboard/Starboard as fun as they are to meme about. I want to know which common one we might collectively dislike. :P

Hey so like, maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I was looking at the fragments that we get of Gwen's statement in ep 21, and

Gwen's story sounds mundane, even without any skeptic goggles on. A little girl opens the door to a long-abandoned shed, and finds a dead fox covered in maggots. Open and shut, gross, but not supernatural

Except for the fact that it comes out like a statement. That it's being compelled out of her. That it's recorded on a tape recorder

And then I remembered how Sam and Alice found worm tracks on the floor of the Archivist's office, so I went to check the episode 10 transcript, which proved me right. But then I scrolled down further, right to the end of the episode, and:

I didn't think about it at the time. But why does Sam reference a dead fox specifically? That seems... Very odd??

And in light of Gwen's statement, probably deliberate??

y'all ever think abt how it was julie having the affair and it is even said multiple times that she was the one who left him, yet wilson was still the one who left their home and moved in with house. like. he couldn't bear to stay in their home alone. he immediately ran to house and stayed on his couch for weeks. suffered through his pranks and his laziness and his manipulation. telling him he wants him gone while sabotaging his attempts to leave. and he only left once he got a girlfriend again.

Pasipheros Parides

Τηλέμαχος, son of Odysseus & Penelope, prince of Ithaca.

Pasipheros, son of Paris & his little king's strongest leash.

Credits for Tele's alt name/epithet goes to @dkmbookworm & their brilliant friend @akaittou, whom some may know as the author of Hanging on in Quiet Desperation. Pasipheros means 'one who brings peace/rest', which is fitting for Telemachus whose very presence pacifies Odysseus.

It also has heavier intonations because Telemachus is in a prime position to be molded into a puppet king Troy could use to expand their territory further, bringing their own form of 'peace' by force if necessary, starting with Ithaca, Telemachus' birthright.

Odysseus will give Telemachus Ithaca's throne. However, he's going to make sure his son inherits it as a free prince, not a pawn.
