What do you think Enver's life was like in the house of hope after his first day there? How long did it take for him to fall into a routine or at least get more used to life there? How long before his personality became more like it was as we see it in game instead of still being more like he was before being sold?

What do you think he thought of the others in the house of hope(like Hope, Haarlep, Raphael, etc) if he ever really saw them?

I think his personality before he got taken away had the same basis as it did after he escaped. He was ambitious, always wanted to do and be more and he felt some sort of nihilism towards everything around him. The last part only grew the more time he spent in HoH, of course.

I don't think it took him too long to settle into a routine, actually. I like to believe he strives for routines and thrives in them. After the first few nights where he couldn't help but cry, he picked up what his tasks and rules were pretty quickly just from being observant. They didn't like it when he looked anyone in the eyes, so he focused his gaze on his step. They didn't like it when he meddled with affairs that had nothing to do with him, so he learned to spot and run away from them (perhaps even hide to listen in). He saw in which rooms he was welcome in and which he'd get slapped for sneaking into. They gave him cleaning supplies and instructed him to clean the whole House, as many times as necessary. That was a front ofc, his real job was to be used as a sack of meat for those looking to release their urges.

But of course, he's a kid. Naturally his curiosity got the better of him and he wandered the halls, hiding in plain sight as he mapped the place out.

I think one day he snuck into Raphael's chambers and shat his pants thinking Haarlep was the big D himself. I don't think Haarlep would harm the little critter (or god forbid, do other things), at least not yet. He was too young. He'd just talk with him and laugh at his innocence, warn him not to come in here unless he had a reason to.

Of course I still think Haarlep groomed him and later on at 16 or 17, he took his form the sexual way. Gortash probably believed it was a choice of his but come on, he had absolutely no choice in the matter. That doesn't mean he agreed to it with no plan in mind though; he probably managed to get Haarlep to answer a few questions that would aid in his later escape. It was the first and not final time he'd use his body for something.

Anyway, I think him and Hope would vibe hard. He'd never really see her for too long or too often and the one time he tried sneaking into her cell, he was beat to unconsciousness. But I like to think they were good for each other. After years of torture and mind breaking, Gortash would have lost all hope, only for Hope herself to remind him that this was only temporary and his story was not over. He'd persevere. And he believed her.

I don't think he saw Raphael himself all too often, both by choice and not. He was often away, but the times he wasn't, everyone in the House was on edge, little Gortash included. The first time he was called to the main room, Raphael probably told him to indulge in the food with a smile. Being a scrawny 9 y/o, Enver of course did, he'd never seen a feast like this in his whole life.

"Tsk. Too trusting." Raphael commented with some lace of disappointment.

".. Only of my new master." The little boy replied, testing the waters. Raphael's pleased smile was all he needed to know he'd struck gold.

"Very good. Care to prove how smart you really are?" And that was the first time he was invited to a game of lanceboard with the devil.

They played once a week, whenever it struck the devil's fancy, and it was a sort of downtime for Enver too. Each game, he gleaned more, as the devil not once explained the rules to him. At every loss, he got struck across the face by his giant claw, forcing him to become better and adding to his collection of scars. Each game, the little boy became quieter, more observant and nervous, striving to be two steps ahead, three, five, seven. Until his first win.

He'd pushed the winning move before he realised what exactly it'd entail. Raphael should be impressed, right? Reward him somehow? Maybe, if the big bitch wasn't such a sore loser. He used it as an excuse to explain that even if they played together, they'd never be equals, not in mind or strength or ability. It was foolish of Enver to believe it so. He threw the boy to Nubaldin and told him to not stop for 3 days and 3 nights. Gortash couldn't breathe or walk or move afterwards, but he did know one thing -

Raphael could be beat.

You can't be pushing now. I lean forward and maneuver my hand so I can get my fingers into your pussy. You squirm as my fingers go through your swollen, then a small whimper when my two fingers reach my cervix. You're 10 centimeters. I hide my fear as best I can. You don't want our baby on a plane and I'd make it so you didn't as best as I could.

"Don't push you're only 7 centimeters dilated. You can make it, ok," I snap and grasp your hand. "Trust me."

You look at me for a moment then nod. Your eyes were watery, red. It hurts to lie to you like this.

"My love, if you can, I need you to shift on your side. It should slow contractions, for a bit maybe."

We just have to hope the stewards don't notice. You shift slightly, you can't fit your bump between the arm rests but I hope the shift in position is enough. I give you my water and dab the sweat from your brow.

The changed position didn't last long. The stewards reprimanded us for being in unsafe positioning and had you back in your seat proper after two hours. I have no idea if it helped but last time I checked you the head had only moved a bit in your canal. Your breathing was low, deep, and hastening as you resisted the urge to push. Your face squenches hard, but you maintain the facade of the uncomfortable pregnant lady to the stewards when they pass.

I keep lying about how slow your dialation is with the hope it would help with your resistance. We're so close now. So close...

[Part I]

It was our first baby, my first pregnancy, I didn’t know what to expect… but oh god the pressure. I didn’t expect so much pressure. I did my best to breath through the contractions, which felt constant at this stage, barely any time between them.

I was panting through my nose and groaning behind my closed mouth. My legs were wide apart in the narrow chair, my bump sat heavily between my thighs and brushed against the damp cushion. As I held my contracting dome with both hands, I ignored the overwhelming desire to push. You said I was only 7.5cms dilated, you told me I wasn’t ready to push, and I put all my faith and trust in you, unable to think of anything besides my breathing. And holding off from pushing.

Even though I was not dilated enough, the baby felt like it was one push away from coming out. It felt like the head was right there, bulging my lips, but it couldn’t be. I wasn’t dilated enough for that. Breathe. Don’t push. Breath. Don’t push.

My head lolled onto your shoulder, my body exhausted and trembling. You wrapped your arms over my bump before one hand disappeared beneath my shorts.

“Ohhhhh babe I really need to p-pushhhh….” I whimpered as you examined me again.

“Not yet, you’re not dilated enough.” You assured and kissed the side of my sweaty face.

“A-are you s-sure?” I panted quietly. “It feels like it’s coming outttttt…..mnghhhhh!” Suddenly I’m pushing.

“No! Stop pushing!” You cried and put your hand between my legs again.

“I can’t help it- oh fuck nghhhhhh!”

“Ok if you need to push, just small pushes. Quietly.” You say and I can feel the counter pressure you're making at my opening. But I don’t question it, consumed by the green light you gave me to push.

My chin is on my chest, my arms are grabbing the arm rests, and I bear down silently spreading my legs wider.

“Oh it’s coming out…” I gasp.

“No it’s not.” You say confidently, before adding under your breath “I won’t let it.”

Curly? No. I met her on ao3 of all places. That moment when you become friends with the author that wrote your favorite fic of all time. Idk its kinda funny to think about and sometimes i wonder how this happened cuz it was never my intention when I left a long comment and some fanart of her fic Spiders web with strings attached. Thoughts on Tsukasa and Kohaku as a ship?

funny thing... i actually thought this was the direction dr stone was going for initially when they made tsukasa the "lion" and kohaku the "lioness" LIKEEEE

but they barely had any interactions after that first fight where kohaku was defeated via being crushed under a tree. i think their relationship wrapped up pretty nicely with their final fight in the later chapters where she dodged tsukasa's attack and received his blessing and respect, though!

what really gets to me is that they share the same worry– their sickly dying sisters– and how they both did everything they could think of to save their siblings

I loved writing that series so much and it’s definitely not the end of it!! Sometimes I get hard on myself and think I might’ve “sealed the deal” too fast for it to be considered a “slow burn”, but I think I’m just getting too into my head lol.

It has been on my mind tho!! Thinking about getting to it soon, but I’d like to re-release it fully on ao3 with longer chapters first!

dont say sorry we love the paragraphs!! tbh i cant stand a lot of md fanfics because of how they characterize uzi in particular, they just do not do her depth justice. and you're so right about the narration too. its so subtle but a lot of great fics go above and beyond to take narration from just describing the world to actually representing a characters perspective- literally and figuratively. hostile takeover is a masterclass in it tbh. its actually inspired me to try and get into writing for md because you need to be the content you want to see in the world ig- im starting with rp rn though because i find that to be the easiest way to get into a characters head, ya know? also your dollxn piece made me physically ill (positive). im shipping them now but exclusively in the way your fanart is framing it (also great song choice listening to it and staring at the art really sent me) - juzi anon

I think a good narration is like, an unspoken art when it comes to writing. I LOVE fics that make a point to have the characters thoughts be a part of the narration; It speaks volumes to how that person write the character themself and can even make for some really impactful dialog thats not even spoken. I think the biggest strength of Hostile Takeover (from the chapters I've read!) is its ability to make a character's narration show the subtle, unseen things about the characters themselves. (Which is why I love J's chapters so much, J puts up such a large persona that being able to read the thoughts she actually has is so!!! arugh!!!!!)

Also: I'm glad to see you taking an inspiration for writing, I've honestly thought many a time to force myself into writing fics just because theres so many ideas I have that I do not have the time or skill to illustrate lol. I actually started posting artwork because I wanted to see more fanart for my own rarepair!!! And I can understand the whole roleplaying thing (I haven't roleplayed canon characters since my.. *shudders* MMO days /j) I grew up on roleplaying and still do on occasion! (OCs I mean haha) I think its a great stepping stone to writing full blown chapters and stuff, all about practice or whatever!!

oh and: I'm glad you liked that piece lmao. N x Doll is one of those ships I thought about for 2 seconds and went "wait no I get it.". I've honestly thought about making more art of it just because its left such a impact on my skull. (ITs... the only enemies to lovers you could HAVE with N canonically w/o messing w/ his character and i am OBSESSED)
