"hurry, hurry ken!" you exclaimed as you clutched his hand, running out to the balcony with him, a huge, beaming smile on your face. nanami reminded you to slow down, there was no rush, the fireworks show would start in five minutes. "we don't have to hurry, my love..." nanami told you as you awaited the flurry of lights in the sky with a grin on your face.

"but i've waited months for this moment, kento!" you chuckled out, with nanami sitting down on a chair on the balcony, admiring how you looked from behind with a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "and why's that?" he asked you curiously, pouring himself a glass of wine. you turned to look at him, an unmistakable shine of excitement and joy in your eyes that allured nanami even more to you, compelling him to gaze back at you with undivided attention.

"because... this is the first time i'll watch it with you," you pointed out, your voice cracking with euphoria. nanami's eyebrows raised, you were right, this was the first time you two would be watching the fireworks together; this was the first night in his life where he hasn't thought of the workload he'd deal with after the new year's, about how nothing new has changed about his life, how... everything felt lighter somehow after you entered his life.

nanami's face softened, and he shut his eyes for a little while, setting his glass of wine down and extending his arms towards you. "...and y'know what? i'm more than happy to share this moment with you now, dearest," he tells you with a gentle voice, his eyes holding that very same glint of love and affection you had whenever you looked at him. "can i have a hug? to celebrate the beginning of a new year with you," he mumbled, blushing a bit at how shy he must've sounded right then and there.

you nodded and giggled under your breath, wrapping your arms around nanami's neck, with nanami wrapping his arms around your waist. "could i... sit on your lap, ken?" "of course," nanami replied almost immediately, with him blushing a little more in response. "you're blushing..." you teased, with nanami kissing your cheek, chuckling. "it's the alcohol, love," "sure it is..." you say in a sarcastic tone, grinning at him, leaning a little against him as you got slightly more comfortable on his lap.

nanami held you closer to his chest, wrapping his toned arms around your waist, resting his chin on the crown of your head, sighing. "i'm glad that, even if i didn't start the year with you... i'll start another year of my life with you," he whispered in your ear, making your face feel hot as his lips touched your ear. "thank you for everything, my beloved..." he murmured in your ear, smiling against it, kissing down your earlobe.

at that very moment, the first few sparks of orange, pink, and yellow streaked across the dark blue sky; people exclaimed, "happy new year!" from across their homes, down the streets, with some blowing on horns, others honking their car horns and hitting on pots. "it's the new year already..." he muttered, looking down at you as opposed to the numerous colorful sparks flying in the sky. nanami ran his hand through your hair as you stared up into the night sky, laughing under your breath like a child as the colors filled the once empty canvas of the sky before you two. "look, a blue one, kento!" you exclaimed, pointing to one, with nanami looking upwards and nodding as he watched the fireworks go off with you in his arms.

"they're beautiful... just like you," he whispered, kissing the back of your head, making you squirm on his lap. "ever the tease under that tough guy mask... the one thing i hope will never change about you come the new year," you replied, turning around and gazing into his eyes. under the light of the fleeting fireworks, with the sound of the neighbors and townspeople clamoring and celebrating the new years, you placed your hands on both sides of nanami's face, pulled him in close, and kissed him softly into the new year.

he may not have begun the previous grueling years of his life with you, but was he glad to have you in the new chapter of his life with you; he was more than happy to celebrate the new year with you in his arms, your lips on his, and his heart thumping along the beat of your own.

you set your pencil down semi-anxiously, chewing on your lower lip in anticipation for your darling boyfriend to come home. he always offered to tutor his students every after school, and he also always offered to help the other teachers with their workloads, even during the busiest times of the month, when everyone else was supposed to be enjoying the beginning of their winter break and spending time with their loved ones.

you knew you could never truly hold a candle to the service and kindness sugawara had to give everybody he loved, including you, but your hands and heart were much more skilled in the field of arts; specifically drawing, and you hoped that by this self portrait of his that you poured all your free time and boundless effort to, he'd find some joy in it, some appreciation that was a mere semblance of what you truly wanted to thank him for.

when the front door opened, you immediately rushed down the stairs, your hands behind your back, carrying the portrait behind your back. sugawara took off his brown loafers and undid his scarf, hanging it up on the coat rack, exhaustedly smiling at you. his eyes still shone with love, even if he didn't say anything or didn't have the energy tonight to shower you with love like he usually does... you could tell, he was more than happy to be in the presence of you, his lover.

"how are you, dear?" he asked you in a gentle voice, walking over to you, kissing your forehead gently. you felt your whole face warm up, and you stammered out that you had a gift for him. shyly handing him the portrait you drew of him, sugawara grinned wider, his cheeks getting pinker by the minute. he thanked you, and gently took it from your hands that were covered in pencil lead and a variety of shades and colors.

seeing the portrait, sugawara couldn't help but smile even more. he always did have the prettiest smile, you really wanted to capture that sweetness in your portrait. "honey..." sugawara murmured, admiring the portrait and looking into your bashful eyes. he chuckled and kissed your nose, wrapping his arms around you as he clutched the beautiful portrait you made of him in his hands. "you made me look really wonderful... thank you," "you're always wonderful, koushi," you corrected him, smiling yourself, hugging him back hesitantly.

"sorry, th-the lead..." "it doesn't matter, darling, i love every part of you, no matter how messy you think you are; it's beautiful how creative you can be, love," sugawara mutters, kissing the side of your head in complete and utter adoration and gratefulness to you for your lovely gift. the snowflakes fell outside as you and sugawara embraced, warming each other up as the landscape outside became blanketed in fluffy white snow, with the inside of your home glowing and effervescent orange and red, the warmth of each other's touch and body heat sufficing for the little while you two held each other so intimately.

it was the perfect way to relax and let the holiday spirit be felt within sugawara, he couldn't ask for anything more perfect.

I hâve a bunny-blanket-plushie from when I was a baby, like 5 months old my mom says, and a small black dog that looks just like the dog I had growing up, Xuxa. The doll’s name is Li’l Xuxa and the bunny’s name is Bunry, pronounced Bunnery (like the Pokémon, but I didn’t know how to spell it properly, and Bunry was how I imagined it was spelled). They are two plushies that I have held on to for years and if anything happened to them I’d probably be devastated. My dearly beloved.

it was the winter holidays and what way better to spend them if not with your beloved boyfriend, sirius?

you spent your holidays with that man since he wasn't exactly the biggest fan of the black family (that happened to be the understatement of the century).

and yet even if he was supposedly spending his time with you since you had lived together, it was hard getting a hold of him because he was practically married to james.

the two were attached to each others hip at all times (an incident in the past had caused that to be true thanks to remus and yourself) and so, his presence in your house indicated one thing.

sirius must've gotten divorced by lily which caused him to stay in your house for the entirety of the day.

you were quick at unlocking your door with it's multiple locks and opened the it to find sirius, lying on the couch wearing a cozy sweater and wrapped up in a blanket watching tv.

"darling, I'm home!" you announce in a sing-song voice and watch with a delighted expression as sirius directs his attention towards you with a cute smile on his face.

"did you get me some ice cream?" he eagerly asked as you approached the sofa he was resting on with your hands hidden behind your back.

"maybe...?"

he completely discarded the tv and kneeled on the couch, attention fully directed towards you "give it." he placed his arms on either side of your body and attempted to turn you around but you took a step back.

"uh-uh," you shook your head "what's the magic word, love?" you asked, now displaying his favourite flavoured ice cream in front of him, so close but so far.

there was pause before sirius said "oh right, makes sense." and started giggling himself, you handed him his dessert "here, enjoy." you placed a kiss on the crown of his head "I'm going to go change now."

you let some music play in the background as you chose which pair of pajamas to wear.

"siri, have you seen my favourite pair of socks?" you asked whilst rummaging through your drawer in an attempt to find your festive fluffy socks.

"I don't think so, maybe james or lily took them..." his voice trailed off towards the end and that inherited from you a quirked eyebrow.

"oh really?" your voice neared him and now you stood in front of him, blocking his view from the small television screen.

"mhm." he hummed and continued consuming the frozen delicacy.

you narrowed your eyes at him and quickly raised the blanket that was covering him only to spot the same socks you were asking about mere seconds ago.

"oh, so you've started stealing my socks now?" you crossed your arms and tapped your foot on the floor, a semblance of you losing your temper.

sirius' gaze rested on you as you took away his ice cream and held it above your head.

it was closing time at your floral shop, and you couldn't wait to finish your little surprise for peter before he came to visit you like always after closing time. you went to the back and checked on what else needed to be woven into your gift for him. you inspected it all around, and it seemed to be good, but you knew you could spruce it up some more to make it look amazing.

it didn't take very long for peter to get to your floral shop, he always made time to get here, and never failed to do so--even if he had other things to take care of on the way here. you heard the ringing of the floral shop's front door, signaling to you that peter came in. with a grin, you tucked the surprise for him away on a table in the back and walked over to greet him.

peter smiled the minute he saw you. "looking ever so gorgeous tonight, aren't you, love?" he teased you as he wrapped you in a hug. "and aren't you just so excited to see me?" you teased back, causing him to chuckle. "you know me, i love seeing you. especially with all these lovely floral companions of yours, how could i not?"

"well... if you must know, i do love seeing you, too. especially with the flowers." you said with a smile as you went into the back and brought back with you the surprise you had for him. "can you guess what it is?" you asked him as you hid it behind your back. peter grinned at your cheekiness as he placed his hand on his chin, deep in thought. "...i have no clue. i'm a private eye, not a psychic. i give up! please, do tell me what you've got there, darling." he said in an attempt to get you to spill what it is. and you, who always let peter get what he wants since he's such a sweetheart, gave in to him.

"okay, okay." you said with a giggle as you brought it up front and finally showed him what you've been working on for a few days now. peter was in awe at the flurry of colors on that little headpiece you made for him; there were so many flowers, notably those of the purple kind. "love..." he breathed out as you showed it to him with a cheeky smile. "it's for you, pete." you said as you handed it to him, with him going over all the parts of this beautiful crown you bestowed upon him.

"it's... a flower crown." you explained. "a flower crown..." peter repeated as he felt over the petals of some of the flowers in the crown gently, careful not to pluck them off. "it's so intricately designed, love... you really mean this is for me?" he asked in an excited, sort of breathless, voice. you nodded. "the abundance of purple and all your favorite colors... did you notice? that would've, hah, given it away, really..." you rambled as he smiled wider and wider.

"thank you, my beloved." he said as he handed it to you, and you tilted your head in confusion as he did. he got on one knee and bowed his head. "a coronation, isn't it? it's a crown, a crown to..." he trailed off as he thought of a title fitting for such a prestigious crown. "the king who's won my heart since the beginning." you finished as you gently placed the flower crown on him, with him beaming as soon as you did.

he stood up and blushed. "how does it look? how does 'the king who's won your heart since the beginning' look, dearest?" he asked as he wrapped you in his arms, with you smiling up at him as you pressed yourself closer. "you look... so beautiful. and i don't want to call you that long title," you said as his lips hovered over yours. you pressed your lips against his, in such an ardent manner that caused his heart to skip a beat or two. as you pulled away, you pushed his glasses back on his face and giggled. "i'd rather call you mine." you said as you caressed his cheek. "that is a fitting title for me, my darling." he said with a grin as he leaned in to plant another kiss on your lovely lips, they were kisses fit for a ruler, for the ruler over his heart that won him over and over and over again, without fail.
