August wrap-up! Hella late, but that is how life is going at the moment. . . . . . . . . . . It was a really engaging and wonderful month reading wise. I'm glad I finally got to read a handful of books I've been meaning to read for a while, mostly When the Moon was Ours, Not Your Villain and This Monstrous Thing. I adored all of them so much! Also I think Echo After Echo and Witchmark need more love! Oh and Wayfarer was in my opinion a pretty good wrap-up to the duology (though I wouldn't have minded a bit more about Sophia... just saying please! Give this wlw some more closure!) Also the books matching was not on purpose... till it was. It’s now time for the cutest photo I will ever post on my account. . This is my nephew who graciously allowed me to take this photo and he’s pretty much the best model. (Note the shark robe and Pokémon shirt peeking out) He’s just the most adorable boy. . Now the book! This Monstrous Thing by Mackenzi Lee. This book sounded pretty legit. It’s a sort of Frankenstein retelling, which is one of my all-time favorites so I had to get it. I’m extra excited to read it!

It's day 17 of #janbookstagram18 and today's theme is #favouritebooktorecommend and this was a hard one because there are so many to recommend!! But #thismonstrousthing by #mackenzielee is one that I've recommended to people a lot because it's just such a wonderful retelling. I adore this book and let's be honest, who doesn't want to read everything by this amazing woman!! The Frankenstein Diaries book that's pictures here belonged to my dad until he gifted it to me to use for my photo and said I could keep it. It was on the bookshelf through my entire childhood and I remember flicking through it and giving myself the creeps because of these awesome drawings!
