I might be on Tumblr too much, and in the wrong capacity.

Not just because I'm straying from the original goals I had when making this blog (still working on fixing that), but also because I misread a poll and clicked the wrong option only to say out loud to myself, "Oh. Well. Why don't I just piss on the poor, then?" as a horribly roundabout way of mocking my own reading comprehension, implying that I can't count on myself to read things properly so I should just resign myself to always misreading them.

I even had the immediate urge to make a post about it, which is rare for me. What has this site done to me?

imagine if evbo has a family outside of pvp civilization. a home. and he had his parents. and then one day, their sweet baby boy vanished. their baby boy had been fourteen going on fifteen when he had disappeared, he had a smile that could blind the whole world, he was struggling with freshman algebra and his parents would sit down with him on the couch and try and scrounge up memories from their school days to help him.

now their baby boy is finally back after months, but he is not their baby boy anymore. he is fifteen and he looks at them like he is shoving his hand in that haystack to find the needle. his smile is not as bright as it once was and his eyes have lost that glimmer of joy and innocence. they are so tired, they look like they have seen war. maybe they have.

and then there are the scars. the healed up wounds that mark something had been stabbed through his palms. when he takes off his shirt there is scar tissue so deep, so horrible on the skin of his stomach and chest his parents wonder What happened and how did he survive? the mark of a knife sliced across the throat and the jagged scar stretching across his jaw. and more. so so much more.

and yet he smiles. he tells his parents he loves them, that he will remember them, that he is beginning to remember them. he tells them stories he remembers, reminisces on cherished moments. and all of this says, i am still your son deep down, but it will take some time to find him. he refuses to tell them anything about his disappearance. he's fine. he is okay. really, he truly is. yet he still wakes up at night screaming and pleading and crying. please don't kill me. i don't want to die. why do i need to die? it hurts it hurts it hurts. and what can his parents do but wake up in the middle of the night, sit by him as he is curled up in bed, and watch as their baby boy (fifteen, not fourteen) cries and cries and cries, and refuses a hug, refuses to be touched, because it hurts.

Im soooo weak to when Bond is like casually being used or exploited at his expense for some ostensible Greater Good except the situation doesn't HAVE to come to that, not really, and he's so inured and even numb to it that he barely pays it any mind; meanwhile, Q absolutely minds and is very indignant on his behalf and works overtime to like either try to avert or forestall the situation before it gets to the point where Bond has to dig his own claws into more of his soft underbelly to offer up on the sacrificial alter of politics of all tawdry things, or to manufacture a way in which he does the needless "needful" so as to spare Bond at least one unnecessary additional wound upon his psyche.

Yumehara and Akechi do NOT get off to a good start in canon. They are not hanging out, they do not care about each other except as generally being part of Saiki's friend group.

However, I believe that once Yumehara accidentally introduces Akechi to the world of yaoi that they will start interacting exclusively for the purposes of yaoi roleplay and end up eventually becoming very good friends because of it.

I was talking to a non-DA friend about the DA fandom recently and I was reminded of one of the dumbest yet funniest pieces of hate mail I ever received. So on this night of new DA game, let me share this relic from *checks file info* 2015

So for context, this was back in the day when you could send anon asks without an account (or, more commonly, just while someone is logged out). Also, when you blocked someone, it was at an IP level because of this, so any future logged out anon asks from that person would not reach you. Additionally, the blocking did not work very well so even if you did block someone, they could 1) still send you an ask and 2) while it wouldn't show in your inbox, you would get a little preview in your activity feed if you happened to be looking at that time

And this, friends of various genders and whatnot, is the one anon hate message I desperately wish had actually gotten through because I have no idea what the rest said and the sheer absurdity makes me laugh even almost 10 years later lmao

Also I have to say that while the whole Jack missing Stephen like some kind of lost dog arc is great, I think the best part is when there's nearly a full page of text about Jack thinking about mundane ship's affairs in which he makes no mention of Stephen at all which ends with "...If the Spaniards caught Stephen Maturin they would shoot him for a spy." (ellipses original). Like damn. Way to show that he has not stopped panicking about him at all
