i kinda hope that some older zelda games get remade down the line to recontextualize and better fit the zelda timeline as a whole

like OoT especially would benefit from a proper remake-- maybe give Navi some actual personality so her getting shunted out of the Ganondorf fight actually FEELS like something

and by remake i dont mean the upscales that ALttP, OoT/MM, and TP/WW got on gameboy, 3ds, and wiiu respectively-- i mean full-ass remakes/rewrites with modern gameplay conventions. like FF7R, but for zelda

the only games i think would actually benefit from proper remakes would be OoT/MM-- OoT for lore reasons and probably better character writing, and MM for gameplay, on top of the added fact that an MM remake would give an opportunity to revive previously cut game content

OKAY so as promised, I'm retconning the Ian's Dad AU!

I don't usually write them as related, and I'm really into JeanIan as a ship, and it's kinda hard for me to write them as father and son without it getting weird? So I'm switching things up a bit to make the AU even more delightfully fucked up, while removing the whole "they're related" thing :3c

So the new canon for the AU is as follows:

Ian grew up next door to Jean, being told a bunch of horrible stuff about him by his mother

Ian turned 18 and decided to be rebellious so he sought out Jean and asked to be mentored by him since Jean's a famous actor and Ian is an aspiring actor

Jean becomes his mentor, acts super nice and supportive and generally is the first positive adult influence in Ian's life

Ian starts to see him as something of a father-figure, but also has a major crush on him and is only just now able to explore his sexuality away from his mother's weird bullshit

Jean claims Ian's like a son to him, but slowly seduces him in classic fucked up Jean fashion

As soon as he's got Ian wrapped around his finger, Jean shows his true colours and forces Ian to keep up the relationship, as well as starting a charade that Jean is his long-lost father (cue the dad kink/incestplay that makes Ian feel both guilty and weirdly turned on)

Everyone including reader believes Ian is Jean's son, with the exception of Ian's mother. But since she's so cagy about who his dad is, no one believes her if she says it's not Jean

Jean is blackmailing Ian into keeping quiet about the true nature of their relationship

Jean is now fucking both you and Ian in different fucked up ways and is blackmailing both of you, and both of you are desperate to keep it secret from each other while you date

Anyway, still wonderfully fucked up Jean content that adds a new layer to everything, but with the added bonus that I don't feel so weird about writing JeanIan content for it :3c
