what fan lamb has the most tragic story?

Oh boy, I honestly don't think I could possibly compare them all! Even just considering the many interpretations/AUs I've seen, there aren't many that strike me as "the most tragic," because I honestly don't think I've seen a fan lamb that ISN'T at least somewhat tragic. Even for the lambs that are heavy on the angst factor, there's a ton of difference in how their creators explore it, so I don't think there's any specific one that sticks out as so much more tragic than anyone else.

In a lot of ways, I don't think comparison between things like this is super useful, though. There's not really any need for any creation to be perceived as "more" than other creations (especially in fandom) for any sort of criteria.

Contrasting can be very fun though! A lot of times I'll have a particular narrative tactic/motif/idea and then find out that another writer friend is doing something similar. And then we both go ballistic over what the other is doing AND what we're doing. Having conversations about that between creatives who are hyping each other up can be really fun, because it's often super interesting to see how people can start at the same point and then take it very different directions, or how people can have a similar goal and take very different approaches to achieving it!

clarification on my incoherent christmas rant: I Don't think that atheists should stop celebrating Christian holidays because that would be a ridiculous take to have, I just think that the secularization of christmas and Easter in particular has totally divorced them from being Religious Holidays in a lot of secular thought, which in turn means that people who aren't religiously Christian but are culturally Christian just assume that they're holidays like Halloween that aren't specifically connected to a religion (anymore anyways) and so why isn't my Jewish friend getting excited about Santa coming, doesn't *everyone* celebrate christmas?? And that also means that people can (wrongly) argue for having "neutral" decorations that are literally just christmas decorations. I'm thinking of a teacher I worked with recently who made the decision to make all the songs in her elementary school program neutral holiday songs, and you'll never guess what songs stayed and what songs she took out!! I simply think that its totally fine to celebrate christmas and Easter in a secular way, you just HAVE to remember that they're religious and that your experience of them as neutral is not universal at all

I really do love Raph and Leo even if they’re not my main favourites. I like a lot about their different adaptations.

I think if I had to pick my favourite Raphs it would the 90s movies, 03 and 12 Raph because I love the sarcasm and protectiveness they have for their brothers despite sometimes getting annoyed with them. I think these three versions also do a good job of showing his emotional side and how his insecurities about his anger and place in the world might affect him. 12 is my favourite of them all probably just for being voiced by Sean Astin lol but I feel like he has the most development of most Raphs. If I had to pick one I’m not really bothered about it would be Mutant Mayhem Raph but I still love him I just haven’t seen enough of him yet but that will probably change once the shows out.

03 and 12 Leo are my favourites for him because I really feel like they brought more to his character than just being a leader. It showed his feelings about being the eldest, being a protective brother and sometimes doing things that don’t go with what his family agree with. My least favourite is Rise Leo which doesn’t mean I don’t like him at all I just don’t find him as enjoyable as a character. It just feels too much like they gave him a lot of Mikey’s characteristics mixed in with live action Sonic which I guess makes sense because Ben voiced him but it made it difficult to enjoy him as much as the others.

So I do love them a lot but Mikey and Donnie will always be my main favourites.

knight!Denki being the smallest and most good natured of his lance fournie (or maybe this is an AU where he's not ganged up with the squad yet?) ... works his flat butt off trying to keep up not realizing he's already one of the strongest. Over-volunteering for more work, to care for the horse... be the team's distraction... but keeping a smile on his face nonetheless.

i'd feel like he'd have all these dreams of marrying you... like he's known by other lances as a playboy, doesn't like... shy away from getting around, but deep down he's very in love with the princess. always shows up to your court (with messy hair, too much weight on his back, looking a lil flabbergasted and silly)... but always with a cute, shy smile and gift for you.

(even if he's a little insecure cuz there's much bigger and tougher knights who aren't the entertainers of the group, who your family seem to favor much more than him.)

but it's hard not to want to talk to him even if you know other royals are watching. trying to hide your giggle when he bows to kiss your hand, or shows you whatever silly thing he picked up in battle; often times a pretty (squished) flower that made him think of you.

If rephrasing it helps for anyone look at it this way: think of a sexist female character. The vast majority of the time: she's played by a woman. It's not different for any other aspect of identity.

obviously i believe that lgbt actors should have equitable access to jobs. but purely as a viewer, i honestly don't care if an actor in a gay role is gay. that's not enough for a project to be "good representation" in my book. because there are lgbt actors who have acted in homophobic/transphobic media, and there are cis straight actors who have portrayed lgbt characters with compassion, and then there's also everything in between. rami malek could come out as gay tomorrow and it wouldn't make bohemian rhapsody any less homophobic because the movie is homophobic regardless. heath ledger was straight (as far as we know), but brokeback mountain is no less heartfelt. to me, an authentic performance starts being made possible with the script, then the producer, director, and so on. but most importantly, i wish more people would ask what a piece of media or story is trying to say about lgbt people. that's way more important than the identities of anyone involved. is it being made with compassion? with empathy? with humanity? with care? that's the questions that should be asked BEFORE asking whether the performer is gay! because i promise you if the script is homophobic garbage, one actor's identity won't save it!

once when i was ten, so seventeen years ago, i was on one of the neopets forums that was in 2006 frequented mostly by edgy teenagers with pete wentz urls who wanted to get around the ban on romance and gay talk to discuss mcr members making out. and it was well past midnight and i was secretly on an extremely clunky laptop the size of a modern desktop, sitting on my top bunk in the tiny room i shared with my sister. and i do not remember the forum topic at all but at some point one of the participants politely asked me, "hey, how old are you, anyway? twelve?" and when i honestly replied "ten," he responded:

also maybe it’s just bc i have a very autistic interest in sociology and human behavior but i like to understand why people think and behave the way they do. it’s been an asset to my ability to advocate for myself and for others. if i know why someone believes something rather than just what they believe, i can have an actual conversation with them. so it always boggles my mind when ppl insist it doesn’t matter why someone believes something, they’re Just Wrong And Should Change Their Mind. like yeah if i could snap my fingers and make someone not transphobic i’d do that but i live on planet earth so the only thing that is gonna potentially get someone to change their mind as long as they’re not too far gone is having an honest conversation with them. i have changed several minds this way, including my own parents, so it’s frustrating to see ppl discouraging this.
