❤️Newest Obsessions: Windbreaker, oh- I’ve been getting into Persona lately: I’m playing P3 and barely scratched the surface but I’m having a fun time! Blue Lock isn’t a new one but that’s been back full force whsnwnsnwn DOGSRED!! It’s the funniest manga I’ve read in awhile- y’all go check it out! Epic the musical

🎥 Last three movies I watched and what I thought of them:

-Blue Lock: Episode Nagi- LOVED IT! I was so hyped the entire time I was in the theater: seeing everyone on the big screen made my entire weekend!

-Haikyuu: Dumpster Battle- This one made me cry! Not in a sad way: but in a “I’m so proud of my boys” way!

-Spy x Family: Code White- It was so GOOD??? Funny and cute and wonderful and just: all around a great movie! 🥰🥰🥰

🎶 Three song I’ve discovered recently and loved:

- Gaeta’s Lament, the singer is L’s (death note) VA and now all I can hear is L singing and just- 😭😭😭🥰🥰🥰

- Scylla, Epic the Musical- I can’t stop listening to it; my favorite track of all the thunder saga if not the entire collection! Just- AHH!

- Too Sweet- I don’t often listen to Hozier (no hate at all: just not someone I usually gravitate towards) but my GOD I love this song. It’s giving Togame

💘Newest Fave Ships: I don’t think I have any new ones? I will say I’ve been tinkering with the idea of Suo and Sugishita but that’s barely out of the water tbh.

Eyyyy SwapAU enthusiast, missed me? I finally finished Gina's design from like, late July?

I used some references of the earliest history pictures of police woman in Britain for her outfit. I kept something from her original design like the buttons of her hat and pattern of her scarf, speaking of her scarf Idk why i chose that for her but it's just felt right (and I still think that shbsjsb). For her hair, in her original design her braided bun reminded me of mochi donut and keep thinking of desert during the process, so i made it to look like swiss roll as shout-out to Gumshoe hehe.

it's wip wednesday!

Just got back from a research symposium (!). Fun abounds. Wrote some more of the Stargate AU plus some more Martian AU, but the latter is all the same format of stuff (messages + texts) as I posted last week so I figure you get the former. It's pretty fun exploring an AU where Neil ends up in the military anyway! I think he'd be pretty good at it even though he hates it.

since Ron is super tall, Ginny is probably huge too and the height difference between her and Harry is like 20 cm or something

It were Ginny, Hermione and Luna who gave Harry "the talk" abou lgbtq+ (poor Harry didn'tknow anything about that topic because of the Dursleys)

So a few months after that, he realized he was bisexual (hello there my fellow) and the first person he told wasn't Ginny, not Hermione, it was Luna because Harry didn't know how to tell Ginny and Luna is smart and honest and Ginny is her best friend so we will give the best advice

Ginny just laughed when he told her and said "aren't we all". Then she said something about Quidditch Harry doesn't really remember

When they were going to marry, Ginny struggled really hard to choose a dress, but then at the wedding, everyone was speachless and admiring this beautiful, georgeous, incredibly stunning woman who walked through the door like a warrior returning from a war where everyone else died, chin up and an smile like a siren, the red hair floating down the shoulders of her pastel green suit like a river of blood

And her suit. The pants were high wasted and had f*cking suspenders, her shirt was golden and reflecting every light in the room and her jacket was made of a fabric that looked so soft and fine and noble and just everything was perfect. Harry did feel a bit bad, like he was too cheap for this goddess, but his dress was pretty nice too, he hoped, at the very least.

I like the concept of Ginny bashing fics, and I like a lot of the tropes that are usually in them (like Harry finding out he’s Heir/Lord Black and the Black family does not play around with the safety of its members), but I almost never like the execution

And I think it’s because (other than the fact that they’re usually misogynistic as hell) it doesn’t have what I want from that

Like, what I want is Harry going into that relationship happily, maybe not so much because he actually likes Ginny and just wants to be legally part of the Weasleys, and maybe that makes Ginny seem sympathetic at first, but then Harry figures out that Ginny’s just using him, maybe it’s some cartoonishly evil thing, or maybe it’s just regular cheating

But either way, Harry figures this out, and he’s not in revenge mode, like yeah he’s devastated and upset and this has probably hurt his self esteem a lot, but he’s not thinking about revenge, he’s thinking about how he’s going to handle this with the rest of the family

Like Ginny’s the baby and she’s the only girl, they’re going to want take her side most of the time, and where does that leave poor Harry? And then even if the Weasleys take his side (which, let’s be real, they would), how is this going to affect their reputation? Especially if this is after Harry’s killed Voldemort for the final time, the Wizarding World isn’t going to take kindly to their Savior being hurt in any way, and it could really reflect badly on the whole family

Like I guess I just want the crux of it to be how Harry manages it with the family instead of it being a revenge fantasy thing

(Revenge wise, going back to the Black family trope, I want Kreacher to be trying to get at Ginny and Harry’s holding him back)

For why Ginny bashing specifically, because again as the baby and only girl in the family, she’s in a position where if it’s her vs Harry it’s more unclear who they’d choose, and for the bashing part, sometimes it’s actually really fun just to have a clear villain, like yeah you could add something like maybe she knows Harry’s kind of using her just to get into the family, so she doesn’t see an issue with using him in return cause she thinks they’re on the same page but what she’s doing is more fucked up (I have some more ideas on what could be going through Ginny’s head if people are interested? 👀)

I don’t think bashing fics are bad by default, cause fics are all about putting blorbos in different scenarios and sometimes that means making some people who aren’t villains into villains, and sometimes it’s fun when those villains are clear villains and you don’t have to feel conflicted about hating them, I think the problem is when the reason why a character has been chosen to be bashed in a fic is for a fucked up reason, like misogyny

most of these are more casual costumes, but anne is kind of uncomfortable and theres some bits im not super happy with, and honestly, flora was a bigger hit than anne... so. but i feel weird about going to a Big Con and not bringing a costume thats a showpiece, you know? half of these are just bough/modified costumes & i feel like its not representative of who i am as a cosplayet/crafter... but also theyre more comfy. i havent made most of my planned big builds. idk
