was kinda thinking about this when I saw Renee Rapp live recently-- I didn't know her visual vibe, I'd heard a few songs here and there but I hadn't really *seen* her, and her attire at Osheaga was really casual, a jersey (baseball/basketball?) and slacks. And that was so amazing! I couldn't help thinking, the work Billie Eilish has done for how women in pop music are allowed to dress is incredible. Seeing her up there all comfortable you just know that Billie walked in her oversized tops so that Renee in her slacks could run; Billie walked through all the critcisms about how she dressed slobbily and having to assert that she didn't owe anyone a display of skin, so that Renee could be comfortable and unquestioned running up and down the catwalk in front of 10,000 people. How iconic.

And I don't think we even realised at the time how much something as simple as letting Billie dress the way she as a (then-) 17-year-old teenager dressed, could end up meaning for a future generation of women in music.

Obviously there is still way to go, there were weirdos complaining about how 'plain' Dua Lipa's Glastonbury outfit was this year (in 2024!!), l have to ask, are you at Paris Fashion Week?? She is the musical HEADLINER of an entire day of music at one of the biggest music festivals in the world, and you can't grant her the space to exist as an artist, you have to moan about her dress not being excitingly revealing enough. There's work to do, it's still dismal out there. But the space Billie Eilish has created for a most ordinarily-dressed woman popstar is still heartening.

@copias-juicebox and I are DYING as we talk about Copia's possible job responsibilities as Cardinal and the inevitable fuck ups that happen...

The first day on the job, Cardinal Copia reads his job responsibilities and duties, and unbeknownst to him, there is a typo.

He is supposed to be counseling the Satanic Pope, but autocorrect has changed it to the Satanic poor.

Outreach seems logical, so he readies himself and gets to work.

So here he sits, cold calling members of the ministry to find out which ones are struggling to make ends meet. His nerves keep him from the logical option of offering the ministry's resources for those in need of emergency help, and instead he tries his hardest to offer solid advice but comes up short.

"Si, si, I know it is hard." *laughs awkwardly*

*strokes mustache thoughtfully* "Have you eh- tried to make more money?"

*rings gloved hands together as he cradles the phone between his shoulder and ear* "Maybe a job would help? They pay, you see..."

"Oh, heh, I am not sure what Feet Finder is, but I don't think it sounds as, uh, lucrative as you think-"

It isn't until Sister Imperator walks in (interrupting his current call) and hands him the corrected responsibilities list that he realizes his mistake and the color drains from his face as he rushes to hang up the phone.

"Mi dispiace, I must cut our conversation short. Eh, ta ta!"

He looks at the the rat spinning in his exercise wheel in the cage to his right and points a knowing finger.

"Do not tell anyone about this or you will lose your cheese privileges for a month."

Leon deserved SO MANY MORE major movie roles just by being beautiful and bitchy like . His 50 cent movie cameo was so fucking funny.. TY FOR SAYING THIS. GENUINELY. I AM SO GLAD SOMEONE ELSE LOVES THESE MOVIES TOO. The characters are hilarious and tragic and I am. Infatuated with them all. They all have their lil moments to solidify them as real or to reflect them being real and it's just. Mwah.

You know that these people are your people when one of you has to leave the party but you're actually not gonna see them for a year because they've finished school and are traveling across continents now so y'all have a group hug and then start crying and hug some more and then y'all sit on the floor in a circle and sing There Is A Light That Never Goes out and cry and hug some more and say nice, honest things to each other, just say what's on your mind right now and even the people who don't seem very emotional join in the hugs and then y'all stand up and sing There Is A Light in karaoke again and say even more long goodbyes and technically some of you could stay longer but you all decide to go together because it would be weird to continue partying with some people missing so you go out into the night and finally, finally say goodbye but you still think about how you've only played in this lineup for one term but it just feels so familiar and wonderful and these months taught you more and made you feel more than the six years at this school in your class. Things like these mean a ton and I'm going to treasure this night forever. I grew a lot in the last six months or so and a big reason for that is this band, these wonderful people.
