Fun fact: The "Astronomical Clock" in Prague actually has nothing to do with astronomy. The symbols on it are just for the aesthetic. The reason why it's called that is that the prices for everything in a 500m radius around it are astronomical.

It's so funny how Hank is like "If he didn't actually lie, maybe we can save our friendship..." when he thinks Boomhauer ruined his brother's wedding. Boy why are you acting like you have moral standards for your friends' behaviour? Your best friend is literally Dale Gribble.

Hank had a chance to befriend a man who was more like himself once but they "couldn't make it work" because of scheduling conflicts. Now I know it's more difficult to schedule things when you have kids and a full-time job, but I feel like two well-organized adults who live in the same town could make it work if there's the will. At least they could meet for a beer once a week after work. And somehow there wasn't the will. Whereas Hank will endlessly put up with his neighbourhood guys and their bizarre antics. Actions speak louder than words.

If I may read way too much into a comedy cartoon for a second - I think Hank actually enjoys that his friends are all screw-ups. He likes that they need him. Hank is someone who gets his sense of self-worth from being responsible and dependable. Now what good is that among people who have their shit together? Sure, they may rely on him sometimes. But among his actual friends? He's the king, man!

I even think this may be why Hank puts Bill down so much. Dale does that too, of course, but Dale does it because he has a mean streak and derives a sadistic enjoyment from it. Maybe Hank does it because a self-confident and happy Bill wouldn't need Hank, though he may still like him.

Some people just need to be needed, and I think Hank is one of them. So he befriends people who need him. It's like the negative and the positive end of a magnet, he's attracted to need.

More awesome and super constructive uses of AI: I found a site that has bot-written "episode summaries" for TV shows that are entirely fake and have nothing to do with what actually happens. It's just the bot free-associating on the episode title. I won't link it because I don't want to give them traffic.

I looked for better KotH summaries than on IMDb, but this one for example figured that "Reborn to be wild" is probably about Hank having a midlife crisis and then discovering his love for motorbikes (and not, like in reality, about Bobby joining a Christian youth group that likes Christian rock music and skateboarding.)

The episode also has a runtime of 1273 minutes, apparently. We're reaching levels of misinformation on even the most trivial of matters that would just have been unimaginable 10 years ago.
