So he took it in for reader's sake and had it cuddle up inside his vest while riding his motorcycle back.

As the sun beat down on him, leeching sweat from his tanned skin, Daryl felt annoyed. His clothes were sticking to him and the stupid store he was meant to be looting smelled like rotten bodies, especially in this Georgian summer heat.

Nonetheless, he had a job to do. We all got jobs to do, as Beth would say. So, he tightened his bootstraps and stalked inside, suppressing a gas as he looked around at all the dead bodies that littered the floor. Up and down the aisles, he quickly realized the place had already been taken for everything it had. With hopes of finding something in the office behind the counter, he broke his way inside, only to find dusty surfaces and and old papers scattered about.

He guessed whoever ran the place wasn’t the organizational type. With a sigh he finally decided to check around back for anything of potential use. The dumpster was turned over sideways, old trash bouncing around in the barely noticeable breeze. He crouched down and peeked inside the sideways bin, squinting in the sunlight. He had almost gotten up and walked away when he heard it. A tiny, pathetic little squeak. He focused his eyes, and caught sight of a tiny little black fur ball.

“The hell?” He muttered as two big green eyes appeared against the pitch blackness of fur. He reached his long arm in and gripped the little thing, pulling it out to look it over. It was scrawny, probably barely hanging on. It’s fur was sticky and matted, and it’s tail had some kind of injury that stunk almost as much as the dead bodies inside. “Ya ain’t doin too hot out here, are ya buddy?” He said softly to the dirty little thing.

Daryl was torn. One one hand, he had no time for a fucking cat of all things. On the other hand, he could practically hear your incessant ranting about how much you loved cats, and how badly you wanted one.

“Nah.” He shook his head and set the little thing down, pouring some of his water in an old cup for it to drink. “Y/N won’t know.” He assured himself. How could you? It wasn’t like you were there.

He sighed and waved goodbye to the little kitty, who hadn’t touched the water, only stared at him as it shivered to itself. He went to turn away, but he realized that the cat was shivering in the middle of the summer. He took in a deep breath and let it out slowly, closing his eyes as he threw his head back in frustration. “God damn it.” He grumbled as he turned back and scooped up the little kitty and stomped back to his bike. “Fuckin’ cat.” He kept complaining to himself, all the while tucking the little kitty inside his vest and starting up his bike.

The trip back to the prison was longer than the ride to the little store. He had to steer with one hand as the little kitty was held snug against his chest by the other.

Back home, you were the first to greet him, as per usual. You thought he may have been hurt at first, as he didn’t typically ride his bike with one hand clutches to his chest. But, when he stood up and pulled a scraggly little kitten from inside his best, you practically screeched with excitement. He couldn’t get a single word in before you snatched the little baby up and looked it over.

“Where did you find this cutie?!” You asked.

“In a dump—“

“What’s its name?”

“Don’t have one—“

“What happened to its tail?”

“Damn it, will ya just listen?” He snapped, tired of you cutting him off. “I found it in a dumpster. Tails infected. Might not survive the night if—“

“Hershel!” You called out, skipping away from him as Rick strolled over to see what the commotion was.

“Was that a cat?” Rick asked with one eyebrow quirked up.

“Shut up.” Daryl glared, throwing one leg over his bone so he could properly go park it.

“What about the general store? It was empty?” Rick pressed on.

“Nothin’ but dead bodies and dying kittens.”

Later, when Daryl had parked and made his way inside, you were crouched over with Hershel examining the kitten, which Carl promptly named Scraps. Daryl caught the tail end of the examination.

“Well, I’ll need some supplies. Gonna need to amputate the tail, first. It’s necrotic. I’ll also need some antibiotics and some kitten formula. It can’t be more than a couple weeks old. It’s a miracle it’s survived this long without its mother.”

Your head snapped over to Daryl immediately, eyes big and watery at the idea that they couldn’t save the baby.

Hershel turned and looked at Daryl with a knowing look. Daryl groaned and shook his head.

“There’s a farmer supply store about a mile south of here. It should have everything we need if we wanna get this cat in good shape.” The old man told him.

“Just write me a damn list.” Daryl sighed as he went to gas up his bike.

I'm bisexual with a very big male pref, i love mlm love but im trans, autistic, and demi. So it feels as if that me experiencing mlm is a very low possibility. :( especially because I have a rlly bad social anxiety, too. I think at first it starts like a competition. You rant to him about your daddy issues and he’s all like “well MY dad hit me severely.” He also dismisses your problems. Especially if it’s a case where it’s like, because of your trauma you struggle with certain things. It circles back to that “well I was abused worse and I turned out fine!” (Don’t try sending him to therapy, it’s not gonna work. He’s a therapy denier!!!) Derek will one up you in everything, including trauma.

He’s the kind of guy who finds daddy issues hot because he likes mentally ill bitches. They’re so easy to manipulative and half the time they’re so attention starved they’ll do anything he asks. He’ll make you do drugs that make you freak out or drink straight vodka because he finds your reaction funny. And he knows you’ll do it without a second thought because you love him so much! He’s a manipulative bastard like his dad. If your daddy issues make you more argumentative he finds it annoying but also incredibly exciting. Just gives him an excuse to get physical and properly put you in your place! (I’m sorry he’s Lowkey a misogynist idk what you expected)

If you have triggers he’s so using them against you. It’s so fun to see you cry and beg for him to stop while he’s idk screaming at you or hitting you. You’re such a shaking mess he finds it funny. He repeats the cycle, he never breaks it. He yells and hits just like his dad does. Only difference is that Derek isn’t so into coke like his dad is.

Deep down he’s a big baby. Despite how much he abuses you, he runs to you whenever his dad gets violent or verbal. You swear you hear him sobbing sometimes when he holds you, but he says your imagining things. He’ll never admit it, but you’re his rock. You keep him grounded. Keep him from taking a gun and running outside and blowing off someone’s head. Overtime he’ll realize cause of your daddy issues you share a lot in common with him. He’ll never say it, but it brings him closer to you. Trauma bonding if you will.

Prowl saying they should get rid of them? Nooo, the moment he suggests that Ratchet looks ready to throw hands, and if he didnt have an armful of bitlets he’d 100% beat the living daylights out of Prowl.

Maybe they switch every week once the second litter is old enough to spend more then a couple hours away from Megatron. Ratchet has the younger litter on the first week, everyone ends up loving the little guys- yet when they cry its just….sirens🚨. Extremely. Loud. Ambulance. Sirens. and then him and Megatron swap every sunday. The autobots trying to deal with demanding little brats once Ratchet has to parent the older bitties for the week, they bite, hiss and throw whatever their stubby arms can pick up, they’re strong for such tiny creatures, clearly their mix of genetics is the reason. But then they act like utter sweethearts for Ratchet so he doesnt believe any of the autobots saying his children are little twats because his sire-coding tells him they’re all trying to get his bitlets in trouble, tiny devils with bright blue optics and innocent-sounding giggles- innocent to Ratchet anyway.

They learn VERY quickly that Prowl shows the most emotion toward their shenanigans and he’s usually the one they annoy the most. Escaping whoever’s care their under when Ratchet has something important to and they escape JUST to annoy Prowl until he bluescreens or just drives off. I’d say something about lockdown / prowl but idk if it’d make sense but imagine prowl comes back from one of his little drives, those drives can last 4-5 days depending on how stressed he is, and he comes back pregnant. Anyway.

So naturally everyone fawns over the younger sparklings when its their turn to be round, Chubby cheeks with bright red optics is just too cute for even the most stubborn Autobots to ignore, so they get cuddles by everyone, ignoring that they carry the crazy warlord genes is hard, Even prowl interacts with these bitlets instead of the older hellspawns.

I really wanna draw the devil spawns, but like..I get so stressed drawing plus i almost broke my neck on some ice ;-;

SIDE RANT. Uh. Not really a rant I personally want to say that Burnt Ice anon seems to have a big brain thats really wrinkly because whatever they send gives the tingles, we need to make their ideas canon. 👍

I always enjoy the thought of grumpy, strict Ratchet being an absolute softie when it comes to his own bitlets. The older sparklings spent more time with Megatron so they're a little more hissy than the younger ones, which were born after Ratchet told everyone and therefore have been spending a little more time with him, and the autobots in general. But he loves all of them all the same. Oh, the older bitlets bit Prowl? No, they wouldn't do that! They're his bitlets, after all, and they've been raised with some manners, thank you very much! if they bit you, it was probably your own damn fault. He just coddles them so much that everyone is in complete disbelief that Ratchet even has that amount of kindness in him. 

Prowl eventually getting used to the younger bitlets because they're pretty sweet, all things considered, but the older ones he wishes would stay with Megatron. They're violent and they seem to only ever want to bite him. Of course, genocidal maniac genes carry on to all of the bitties, it's only a matter of time before the younger ones start causing trouble... Not to mention… Ratchet's pretty big and boxy. Megatron is twice as big and twice as boxy, so you know the bitlets are big, fat, and strong as hell. Menaces, the lot of them. 

Btw now i also kind of wanna draw the megaratch babies… i wish i had the time for it. and the art skills. oh well

I thought of this more when seeing an old post of someone saying their English teacher should have let them write a report on Divergent instead making them read 1984. Someone commented supporting the OP, saying that they never read Divergent, but 1984 is problematic. Iirc, the commenter referred to Winston (I think that's the protag in 1984; sorry I haven't reread it in years) as a creep. I can't remember is this specific commenter called Winston a misogynist, but that's a common complaint I hear when people say they don't like 1984.

The screenshot of that post also had other screenshots, including the twt posts of YA authors saying that the classics were problematic. It's a sentiment I keep seeing around book twt before I deactivated my account but still on booktube as well, and it's always booktubers who also read and rant about Colleen Hoover, because they know her name gets clicks. Or booktubers that do those videos titled "I read [old/popular/controversial] series so you don't have to".

Sorry, sliding off topic a bit. Going back to what anon said, YA books tend to be more sanitized. They're supposed to be written for a 15-19 audience, so sex and gore aren't supposed to be explicit. There are YA books with sex scenes. 2 I read recently have sex scenes, but they aren't explicit. One uses mostly poetic language and infers to what's happening, and the other essentially fades to black after they get into bed, as they're touching and then picks up the next morning. (One of these YA books had a big controversy on booktube a few years ago for being problematic, though. Gee, wonder why /s)

But for the most part, often for people who enjoy urban fantasy or romances but not steamy scenes, they may go for YA, since it's usually more "PG". Unfortunately, some people get it in their head that this makes YA inherently "better", that adult books that are being more explicit are only doing it to get more sales, when YA tbh has a tighter hold on it marketing-wise.

Okay, I'm not published (yet), but I've been studying it when I need to take a break from writing to see what course is best for me and what I want to write. YA is becoming oversaturated in the market, so it's not as big a "money making genre" for debut authors as it might have been once (and I'd argue that even in the past when YA was smaller, you still had to be lucky, known, or connected to get that 6-figure check for a debut YA novel). YA is more likely to get scrutinized, considering its supposed to he for a younger audience, so a YA author wanting to push boundaries is going to receive more push-back than an adult lit author.

Now pushback happens in adult lit, too, like Ava Reid saying her editor or publisher (I forget who) told her that Juniper&Thorn might be too dark. (I've read it. Yes, it's dark, but bad reviews I saw for the book blew it way out of proportion. If you (gen) like lyrical/poetic narration and gothic horror, I highly suggest it).

But it feels like there's more of a push to keep YA books "clean". You can find some outliers, but like the YA I mentioned above, those outliers in YA that push boundaries can get wrapped in controversy and called problematic.

And for whatever reason, some people on booktube say this is a good thing and say "think of the children!"

They will say censorship is bad but then advocate for sanitized YA to be read instead of classics, because the classics are "bad" and "teach bad things" and "should be left in the past". They advocate for censorship without realizing they are advocating for censorship. It's exhausting, and as someone who wants to be published and does enjoy a lot of YA, it makes me feel discouraged. I don't think I'm "pushing boundaries" at all in my writing or saying anything new, but I'm very sure it's not sanitized enough for most publishers, especially if I wanted to try for one of the beg houses in the US.

Tl;dr One of the major problems in this anti-intellectualism is capitalism.

For the love of god. DON'T......" while Rust has already started ranting about organized religion and Marty just starts downing his drink like "Not this shit again. I KNEW THIS WAS A BAD IDEA FFS." Anon that keeps claiming “Ali is speaking volumes by not saying anything” she literally hasn’t said anything on it. ALI has been the one who has tried to be an adult and move on. ALI has been the one who put her team first. When the news first broke she was supposed to have a press conference, said conference was then cancelled by both Ali and the teams manager because they both care about the team and knew damn well that that press conference would turn into the “what happened? What went wrong?” gossip column instead of focusing on the team and their games. Ashlyn fans can’t grasp the fact that some of us who have been following Ashlyn since her UNC days know that Ashlyn is problematic. YOU Ashlyn fans and some of the Ali fans are the problems. Ashlyn has chosen at every possible turn to make it seem like she did nothing while Ali has been focusing on herself, THEIR kids, and her family in general. Ashlyn continues to make herself out as the victim when Ali has not said one word about her or posted anything about her. The real and true problem is Ali shouldn’t have to tell the fans to back off because if she never mentioned the divorce and Ashlyn or someone close to her did that’s on them and they should have known better than to reveal that information before one of Ali’s biggest weekends.

The heat that Ashlyn is getting is of her own making. You want to get a divorce? Fine. You want to date Sophia Bush? Fine. But the fact is there are pictures that were posted and the internet is forever you can’t just delete things and assume they aren’t circulating elsewhere. The fact that teammates who have literally been on a team with Ashlyn sided with Ali that shit should speak volumes right there 5. I wholeheartedly agree with you and other anon, I love Shayne and he’s been my top 3 for as long as I can remember but he hosts too many freaking shows. Anon only mentioned Reddit and the guessing but we also have who meme’d it, beopardy, and challenge pit technically bc he was in most of them. I know he’s pretty much the money maker of Smosh and everyone enjoys him but I miss back in the day where almost everyone had a show on pit they can enjoy. But honestly I think the reason he’s pretty much the only host is because it seems he’s one of the only people full time. So I feel like thats the smartest decision money and views wise. Idk I just miss when they actively tried out new shows, I know that those don’t really pay their bills but it would be nice bc it’s something new and refreshing. Me too! They've been trying that out recently (kind of) and it's been some fun? It kind of seems like they don't want to spend too much money on newer content. After the last quinn video I'm definitely... underwhelmed. I guess it's supposed to be a power moment that darlin gets to beat up quinn but like he's literally going to be tied to a chair, where are the stakes?

It also seems that there's a hesitancy to give these characters different relationship dynamics? Like oh he's a vampire so the not wanting to bite is of course a barrier he needs to overcome, they're dating a vampire so of course they need to be seeking that out- one of the most intriguing things about sam to me was that he is still uncomfortable with his vampirism and he's still figuring out his own way of coming to terms with that, plus the two of them not incorporating biting into their relationship would be another way to explore the vampire/non vampire relationship! It just feels like they're being pushed onto the same narrative track as vincent and lovely with 1. Nonvampire unexpectedly runs into vampire on solaire territory, 2. They start dating, 3. They address the trauma surrounding biting, 4. Inevitable biting indicating growth, 5. Nonvampire becomes immortal so they can live happily ever after

Like I didn't really have a problem with that being vincent and lovely's story it just feels like we already HAD that arc? And i felt like this was supposed to be a different story

(Also this is smaller but it strikes me as weird that it mentions in the video how darlin would continue to ask sam to bite them after he already explained how traumatic that experience had been for him in the past given that the entire foundation of their relationship is built on understanding and respecting each other's boundaries and being willing to wait for the other to be ready?)

I feel like their story does mirror Vincent's and Lovely's, but not even in a good way. It's not a foil, its just a fucking mirror. But one of those wacky fun house mirrors that distort how you look.

Redacted very much does hesitate to give characters different dynamics, i mean. Again, look at Vincent and Lovely. Having Lovely be turned by Vincent was SUCH a good opportunity to explore a drastic dynamic change, but instead he had William magic away his power to 1) invoke and 2) lie. But those choices themselves could have had some kind of backlash with Lovely struggling through their turning, but they literally glided right through it. It would have been nice to have some kind of scenario with Lovely doing something batshit insane and having Vincent either 1) have to invoke them (in a universe in which he didnt magic that ability away) or 2) not have the ability to invoke them, and have to struggle through that situation without that power to lean back on. But here we are!!!! Nothing changed!!!! Just like Sam and Darlin.

I think its slightly strange that they keep asking, but you can't really know when someone's boundaries have changed if you don't ask again yanno?? Its not something i necessarily have a big problem with its just...... its been so long, Sammy, have some development.

Im gonna put my thoughts about how this could have gone below the cut :3

Darlin wanted to catch and kill him themself, and they should have gotten the chance. Like.... it was well established that they wouldn't have been able to take him on their own, but isn't it great that theres the Solaire clan and the Shaw pack to help them now? That would have been a better conclusion to come from all those "Love Conquers All ❤️" speeches that Darlin had to endure.

We could have had Sweetheart catch wind of him somewhere, and instead of reporting it to the department, they report it to David and word spreads to Sam and then to Darlin and so on and so forth. Maybe along the way he ends up catching and killing one of the human mates, or maybe even Sweetheart themself?, just a few minutes after they report him to the pack. That'd be interesting, or at least heavily injure one of them. Or both.

We get Sam running off just ahead of Darlin to go and try to catch him. Sam gets incapacitated by Quinn, at which point we get the (sexy slutty) little villain monologue from him about Darlin. Darlin shows up right behind Sam as Quinn is spillin tea to him, and they hear everything as he airs out their dirty laundry, about how he's been right behind them, he knows that Sam hasn't bitten them, yaddah yaddah. Darlin shifts, embarrassed and tears in their eyes, and attempts to kill him, failing miserably. Perhaps he breaks one of their legs, maybe even rips it off. Both Sam and Darlin are on the ground, bleeding, heavily injured and about to die at the hands of Quinn when slowly the whole Shaw pack and some members of the Solaire clan show up (including William!!!). They surround him and prevent him from escaping, they attack him and injure him enough that he doesn't have a chance to get away. Every body passes him off to Sam and Darlin, the former holding him (he's already heavily injured and pretty much immobilized), and Darlin rips his head clean the fuck off, crushing it in their maw and spitting it on the ground like trash.

Afterwards, when they're healed enough to not die, Darlin and Sam finally have an actual talk like similar to how they did in the third video, but this time it's like. Warranted. They have a talk about Darlin's blood and biting kink isn't actually bad, and they and Sam can work through getting up to a point where he can give that to them, because he wants to as well. They also deal with the consequences of being heavily injured, maybe they actually lose that leg i talked about (credit to one of my former anons about the losing a limb thing, they were also galaxy brain about the idea of magical prosthetics and medical tech :3). Darling deals with some emotional turmoil over finally reaching this goal that they've been chasing after for over a year now, feeling a little aimless without it. Sam feeling some type of way about not being able to do anything else for his progeny now that Quinn's dead. And then they work through that shit together!!!

since i'm on anon i can't send a picture so! the first design ( https://imgur.com/d656MHg ) is for my snezhnayan oc, who is... well, half a ghost half a human. she was once a very popular and passionate singer in a snezhnayan theatre! and then someone sabotaged her. she lost her voice. then she tried to turn into the major character death tag but failed and celestia said "no, you're not dying, here's your pyro vision, now go and haunt the theatre." she's not enjoying her life. her design was more focused to give her, oh, like, pretty singer vibes, the pretty girls you'd see on pinterest but also... look a bit more genshin with the colors and stuff. overall this was my second more complex genshin design so... i like it. it's nice.

and now. back when i was actively playing anime rhythm gacha games, it was pretty common for people to edit the cards. you know. i did that! and some time i edited my alchemist lady into a card of my favorite love live character! i attached both original card and my edit (here https://imgur.com/a/pcIs6r4 ) and... i mean, her design is very self indulged because, grand reveal, i created her first as my genshin-sona but then she turned into an actual OC so. yes. but also, she's a traveler so she's allowed to have her clothes not fully fit the nation she's from. and besides i do plan on giving her alternative outfits from every nation she visited so... additional info, she also has a big fluffy coat with her. yeah.

hey! while it’s disheartening and sucks to get hate comments, you should try to remember that the fics you write should be purely for your enjoyment. it’s stuff you like and want to share with the world, and some people find it and end up liking it a lot! you’d be surprised how many people probably read your fics and love it but don’t say anything bc they’re shy. unfortunately, there are a lot of hateful people on the internet and they will do anything to try and bring you down. you should try your best to ignore it (i know you probably don’t wanna hear this but it’s true). another way to get rid of hate is turn off anon on tumblr, if anyone sends you hate after then you can block them. you can also restrict comments on ao3. if you ever get a hate comment on ao3, you can also block or remove (i think) the comment. trust me, there are a lot of people who LOVE your work. just continue doing what you love. if you have haters, they’re most likely just jealous or miserable people. sorry for the long note, hope your day is good!

I wouldnt have an ao3 account. im writing for ME but im posting and sharing for other people, the people who ask for said fics, people who are my friends, people who like the ships, the fandom cuz fandoms simply do not exist without fanworks, not creations. were not getting paid for this. AT ALL! Like you cant do fic commissions cuz youre just sitting fanfic and fandom culture back YEARS AND YEAR.

It feels like he likes me there are some signs. sometimes flirts a bit and he even drew me as a gift. Idk how to explain it but sometimes he gives me butterflies but he isn’t my type at all he is skinny and just a bit taller than me but he is still pretty. Idk if it’s because it’s been a while since I have been respected or because he is really nice but I keep having this on and off feelings about him. It’s like suddenly I want him and then after a while I’m like no I hope he dosent confess to me then I’m like I want a boyfriend.
