im so. god I had such a yuri night I have so much to tell you all yuri nation:

- went to the skate park and we ended up hanging out for 5 whole hours

- I got comfier with skateboarding!! woohoo!!

- we were listening to music and then she was like omg I'm gonna get my guitar from my car, is it ok if I play a couple of my songs. so she fucking played and sang two of her original songs to me and it was such a privilege to get to hear it. and she's so talented. and in fact she asked to record herself on my phone so I could play it back on the speaker and she could play along to the recording and so now I have a recording of her singing and playing guitar saved on my phone and the clip ends with her giggling and I am so fucking gay about it I definitely fell a little bit in love in that moment

- I decided to try skating down a ramp and she had offered to help me by letting me hold onto her. so I HELD BOTH OF HER HANDS WHILE I WENT DOWN AND SHE RAN WITH ME TIL I STOPPED. this happened twice btw.

- we went and had a bite to eat at the tim Hortons across the street. and we were def stoned lol and just chatting and eating and I swear at one point while I was talking I caught her looking at me. but also she was excitedly telling her about this sports bra she got that was comfy and made her feel so cute and happy about it AND SHE SHOWED ME A PIC OF HER WEARING IT. like it *was* just a sports bra but I was so gay in that moment it was like. uhm. yes that's wonderful Sidney. 😳 she has no idea how that was for me lol.

- then we spent time chilling in the grass watching the stars come out and listening quietly to music and it was so pleasant. our shoulders were touching at one point and I was like god I am so fucking gay.

- while doing that I had to run away for a sec to go pee across the street lol and when she came back she told me she'd been practicing her voice training a bit while I was gone and she actually like was trying out her higher voice around me and she told me that she rarely uses that around anyone because she's shy and nervous about it. but she shyly spoke to me like that 😭 it was really fucking sweet and I felt so privileged that she felt comfortable enough around me to do that. and her voice is genuinely sooooo beautiful (both her upper and lower registers) I love listening to her speak

- she also talked about how sometimes people who see her at the cafe will say she's pretty or people will say that someone saw her and called her pretty and she has trouble believing that they're being genuine and not just like. thinking they're Being Nice™ because they notice she's trans. and I was like well I mean i genuinely had this "who's that pretty girl and why does she know my name" moment when we ran into each other last week. and she then asked me if I was nervous when I went back up to say hi the next time I was in and I was like MAYBE A LITTLE... and she said she noticed my hands shaking 😭😭😭 but she also was really happy I said hi to her 😭😭😭😭

- after she had played her music for me she also talked about how it meant a lot that when I heard her play at the festival in the fall I told her it sounded very midwest emo to me. and that to connect on a music level like that is something really important and special to her. and I'm like SAME.

- she also told me she really likes how I'm always paying attention to positive art. like I'm always noticing little trans graffiti and stuff and showing it to her.

- when it got cold she lent me an extra hoodie from her car and told me yellow suited me 😭

basically like if she didn't have a gf I would probably think she's into me and tbh I still am kinda wondering that because she said she had questioned in the past whether she's polyam and decided that she's probably not but I can't help but wonder. idk this could mean anything and either way this is such a beautiful deep friendship. it feels so real like we can both be fully ourselves with each other

omg i was crying so much, like i already knew i was going to cry with the little mermaid cause it’s one of my fave Disney movies and also since the first trailer dropped i cried when halley sang so i knEW i was gonna be bawling and yup. movie started, literally the title appeared and i cried like im pretty sure the rare moments were the ones where i wasn’t crying (loved it 🫶🏻)

spiderman was sooooo cool, i already loved the first one but man this was soooo good and the soundtrack? slay

and to finish, guardians of the galaxy FUCKED ME UP like, i’ve seen clips of people just saying that you cry a lot and in general it’s one of the best marvel movies recently and i was very excited about this cause I’ve been a big big MCU/MARVEL fan since the beginning but after end game i only watched a couple of them and honestly only loved a few but this one seriously it’s amazing, a masterpiece and i refuse to watch it a second time cause it’s just going to mentally hurt me even more, but seriously it did not disappoint

i also made my friend watch both taylor swift movies and it was awesome, he also listened to folklore for the first time and his favorite was mirrorball (mines are august, illicit affairs and the lakes)

right now im actually home alone for the weekend, one of my sisters friend from high school graduated an she invited her to the ceremony and after party and even though it was okay for me to come i decided to stay home and just have “me time” which has been mostly watching films and YouTube videos lol

also there’s this asmr creator that i love, ediyasmr and this week she did two tarot reading and omg i never felt so “seen” or “heard” with a reading 🥹💓 it was very reassuring and a wholesome time for me haha

do you believe in tarot readings and all that stuff? - i believe in all of it, there was a time where i spent a lot of time practicing tarot and learning astrology (i'm still big on astrology but not so much tarot, i still have the cards though!) i really enjoy watching readings and doing my own, i feel like it resonates with me extremely well, and i'm glad you were able to relate to one on youtube!

10/10, The guitar is so pretty and the lyrics hit hard and get me in my feels. "You know the greatest films of all time were never made", it's accepting that life isn't a movie and the greatest film of all time is an impossible goal, just like how life and love isn't always fulfilling and amazing like a movie.

• Cardigan - Perfect

10/10, Omg the lyricism is so beautiful, Taylor Swift has a beautiful way of expressing emotions and feelings it's so incredible and especially amazing to me personally to listen to because I find it so difficult to word how I'm feeling, and Taylor somehow just embodies it. "A friend to all is a friend to none."

• The Last Great American Dynasty - Perfect

9/10, I love the way it picks up, the bridge is so enjoyable and I love Taylor's story writing ability. "I had a marvellous time ruining everything" YES.

10/10, Bon Iver's vocals are so fucking majestic to listen to, and I love the argument type thing that they do, it's so powerful and really fun to belt but also get into your feels to, which I really love.

aidays playlist breakdown: chapter 1

hello! i am so proud of this fic and everything that's sprung up around it, but i am especially proud of the soundtrack ive built to go with it. at all times i am thinking about either the fic or the playlist, and never more than a tiny suggestion of interest away from babbling about it for hours. so. here we go.

here's the fic (there will obviously be spoilers in this post but tbh if you haven't read the fic what are you even doing here)

this is. well. it's the theme song. it's the thesis statement. the zukka community would be nothing without treacherous and you may quote me on that. aidays obviously owes its title to treacherous but the themes and ideas of this song are woven throughout the entire fic. i find myself coming back to this song again and again for guidance.

zuko and sokka work so hard throughout this fic to convince themselves (and others) that there isn't really anything between them, it's just fun and easy and casual. these lines for me are about teetering on the edge of Something. they're holding themselves back from the cliff edge at the same time that they're trying to see what's at the bottom. (this is also VERY applicable to ch10 but im not gonna say anything more about that lol)

it's the title!!! i couldn't not include it. this was always my favourite line from treacherous even before i wrote aidays, but of course it has become even more important to me now. this is one of the horniest lines in taylor's entire discography, which makes it an obvious choice to title a fic about casual sex, but for me it's also about like. commitment and dedication. it's a willingness to do absolutely anything to keep this thing going, to make this last as long as possible. all the little not-casual things zuko and sokka do for each other because they're not quite ready to let this thing end yet. like, let me tell you about my tragic past so we can go back to making out. take this key to my apartment so you can use it as a getaway from your weird home life and also fuck me stupid.

this is sooooo ch1-4 vibes. very much in the way of like, not being able to tell when "casual" disappeared and became this new thing. where does one thing end and the other begin, or were they always the same thing to begin with? were the feelings always here? was this even an arrival at a point, or was it just looking around and finally seeing where they'd been the entire time? a little bit on the nose but the end of ch3/4 ("I can stay." "So stay." immortalised here by @bleekay) was definitely influenced by this.

this one is so. like. ok. so in ch1 it's zuko who says he doesn't want anything serious. this is because, given his history, he doesn't believe "anything serious" is an option for him. he's too broken, he's too sad, he's too much for other people. so he defaults to casual. but then there's sokka, throwing all those ideas out the window by discovering all the damaged parts of zuko that make other people discard him, and then liking him more for them.

this bridge. godddddd. ok. obviously along with richard siken's you are jeff poem this bridge was a big inspiration for ch8. there's that devotion again, this kind of magnetic attraction between sokka and zuko throughout the fic that brings them to this point of like, you are the light in the dark, the sound in the silence, i will go wherever you take me. "nothing safe is worth the drive" in particular is very much like. if this were easy, if it were actually casual and no-strings-attached like it was supposed to be, these feelings wouldn't be here. there wouldn't be all this anguish and passion if they didn't feel this strongly for each other. like. the pain of losing you is nothing compared to the high of having you. nothing safe is worth the drive.

don't you go by all time low

this is the first of many songs about casual sex on this playlist (turns out there are a LOT of those). it's by no means all time low's best song, but it's RELEVANT so it goes in the playlist. (i've been a fan of all time low since i was 13 im allowed to say that)

That’s how it’s supposed to go. But then it’s the best sex Sokka has ever had, and he thinks he’ll hate himself if he never gets to have it again.

Last Dance of the Night

“Are you sure you can’t do it?”

You whisper into the mouthpiece of the phone, shooting glances up the stairs, being able to catch a glimpse of your father straightening himself up in the hallway mirror. “No can do, I know it’s really important, and I'd love to be there but- Hey!” 

You jolt back at the sound of your brother's voice through the phone, once again looking up the stairs to check if he heard the loud squabbling coming through the phone. He’s frozen in place, trying to assess something. Before pushing back his hair.

“Anyway, look Bug, I can't. I'm busy.” A sigh leaves your lips as your shoulders slump. “You’re useless.” “HEY-” 

You hang up, quickly dialing another number on the rotary. You listen to it dial, half expecting him not to pick up, but it clicks and there's a hefty sigh from the other end. “Devil May Cry.” “Hey, Uncle Dante. I, uh, need your help.” “What happened?”

You tap your foot on the carpet. “Sooooo, prom being tonight, I checked the list of parent chaperones who signed up. And…. Dad's name was there.” There’s silence on the other end for a good minute before a roar of laughter. “Please, you could show up for him, and don’t even have to stay. Sign in, then sneak out the back door. They’ll see that you’ve already signed in and won’t let him in.” 

As the laughter continues on and your hope dies, why did you ever think you could rely on your family? The hair on the back of your neck shoots straight up. Oh no. You slam the phone down and turn on your heel. Trying your best to pull a smile that didn’t show how scared you are. 

“Hey dad.” His face is blank, there’s no sign of anger. “It’s getting late, shouldn’t you be on your way already?” You nod, swallowing hard and trying to find an excuse.

“Just made a quick call to Nero. Big day, he’s really excited for me. I really should get going though…” He just nods, wrapping a lace shawl around your shoulders. You drop the nervous smile and a real one forms, his thumb rubbing the fabric gently. “You look lovely.”

“Thanks Daddy.” You hop onto your tiptoes, and he leans down just slightly. You press a kiss to his cheek. 

You slip out the front door waving a goodbye, knowing full well he was watching you from the window. It didn’t take much power walking to escape his view before ducking into your date's porch. Quickly checking to see if you were followed before you decided to knock. 

Their mom opens the door, a delighted smile splits her face. “Oh my gosh Honey! You look so pretty!” She welcomes you in, taking you to their living room. Quickly hurring off to get her child. Looking over their happy family photos you smile melancholy. 

There are loud footsteps, and your date stops abruptly, jaws going slack. “Wow…”

You both wave goodbye to their mom as you walk to the overcrowded gym. The staff stand in a row on each side of the door, screaming and cheering as all of the students make their ways inside. 

You cringe as teachers in their 40’s fake enthusiasm, their only real joy being that most of you will soon either be gone for the summer and the others leaving at the end of the year and be some college professor's problem. Your eyes scan the room before ducking behind a wave of people. “*Babe, what the hell?” “My dad.” 

Their eyes widen as they look through the crowd, finding him quickly before returning their gaze to you. “Why didn’t you tell me before?” your face warms. “I was caught up in the moment!” You two try to walk casually to a table and sit down.

God the decor was bad.

If you’ve ever seen the 70’s version of Carrie, where the prom decor was aggressively cheap and 70’s… That, but worse. The gym still smells like last week's basketball game, and no plug in air freshener is going to erase that. 

Kinda smells like your uncle's shop. 

You both keep your heads down. “What did you tell him?” “Last week I told him that I didn’t have a date, and that I was going with a group of friends because we all couldn’t get dates.” They narrow their eyes. “Babe, why?”

“He pretends he doesn’t but… he worries a whole lot about me. I knew he’d stalk you if I told him the truth. But hey, you aren't a boy, so maybe he won’t react badly.” Their eyes widen and you shiver, it’s that icy stare you know all too well. They swallow, before straightening their collar. “What about our plan to sneak out?” 

You look around at the four different doors. “We’ll find a way, give it an hour.” 

“I figured out a way to get out, but I do want to dance with you first. I just need to use the bathroom first, wait for me, okay?” you nod and watch as they walk past a crowd of people and seemingly disappear.  

The lights dim and time passes, things eventually become more lax. You wanted to move around to try and get a escape path (and to experience what you can of prom), but your date refuses to get up at all, especially to dance and make something of the time you have.

They clear their throat and start to get up, leaning down and whispering. 

And you wait. 

And wait, and wait. Maybe, maybe they did disappear. Looking over the groups and couples dancing, and those who were still sitting like you, they were nowhere. Not in here at least. You sigh, sinking down in the uncomfortable metal chair. 

More time passes, and nothing. You start to wish you’d just gone with some friends, maybe then you wouldn’t have gotten ditched and actually had a good time. 

The clock ticks on, and it's becoming more obvious that the staff are getting ready to kick everyone out. The D.J. has been playing straight slow songs for the past 20 minutes, and you’ve had to watch couples and friends slow dance together and two people get crowned king and queen.

You tried your best to seem happy, like you were enjoying yourself. 

Pulling out your phone you see a notification from your dates account. They posted 7 minutes ago. It’s a video of them and their friends fucking around outside of a conveniance store in prom suits and dresses. You feel yourself tear up, slouching lower in the chair. The lights and people become blurry, c’mon, you don’t want to cry. 

A hand comes to rest on your shoulder, you look over your shoulder to see your father looking down at you. “Y/n.” “Hey Dad.” You say, no longer having anything to hide. Not that you can hide anything from him for long. 

He takes the seat your date had, lips pressed shut in a permanent scowl, just like normal. It didn’t scare you, that's just him. “It seems your companion abandoned you.” You scoff, pulling up your shawl. “Yeah…” “You’re upset.” “That obvious?” 

You laugh at your own joke. If he’d been your brother, he would’ve laughed too. But he sits there awkwardly, not knowing how to comfort you in this situation. “They couldn’t even give me one dance before they left me either.”

The current song playing stops and you can hear a few people whine at the idea that the next would be the last of the night. 

A hand is extended to you, your fathers, he stands waiting. It's not an option, it's a demand. You take it, getting up and following him.

The song starts and he starts to dance, but you trip over yourself. Stepping on his feet several times. 

“Sorry… I forgot how to dance.”

Both remembering too-small tiaras being shoved in his hair, little feet with sparkly plastic princess slippers on his, and a random song playing in the background. Trying desperately to teach you how to dance after you’d begged him to. 

Forgot.

You watch him smile, just slightly. The darkness giving him the anonymity to do so.

He never did, but you had so much fun. 

“That's fine, just do what you used to.” 

You step onto his feet, making you move the same as him. A question burns under your skin before you chew your lip. “You’re not mad at me?” “For?” “Lying about who I went with.” There’s a low growl like sigh. “We will deal with that later.” 

You nod, not worrying about it now. Resting your head on his chest, closing your eyes, tears streaming down your face now... All of what happened melts away, the safety of your father makes it go away. He always does.

- This one is for anyone who’s made animations to a song. (AMV? Is that the right word?) You? You make me cry but in a good way. I’m sobbing they’re so beautiful.

- Meme animations, thank you for feeding me. We have 3/4 of the main meme animations (Who Broke This, You Have Uno, Starbucks Discord Call). If anyone makes ‘The One Thing You Can’t Replace’, I will implode immediately. It’ll be fantastic. I love y’all so much.

In General:

- This Community is so good?? Everyone cares about each other?? Respects each other?? Everyone just vibes on a similar wavelength?? Also I’m pretty sure most of the fandom is either in the LGBTQ+ Community or very supportive and it’s so GREAT

- That being said, if you HC any of the characters a certain way because you’re projecting onto them, You. Are. So. Fucking. Valid. I care you.

- All of the AUs I’ve seen are so COOL!! Mothman Benrey?? Mermaids?? Absolutely any of the AUs in the HLVRAI Hellhole Server?? Band AU?? Benrey n Barney are brothers?? Y’all,,, I can barely express how much I love all of them.

- I haven’t seen a single bad ship- it’s all so SOFT!! Boomer and Frenrey hold a special place in my heart but everything else has been so good!! Frenmy? Tommy and Darnold? Darnold and Forzen? Tommy, Darnold, and Forzen? Benrey and Forzen? It’s all done so FLUFFY and WARM and GOOD.

- The Cast really said, “Yeah more fluffy stuff less sexual stuff” and the fandom listened and I’m so glad it’s all so wholesome

That’s all I got off the top of my head but if you got more, feel free to add, and if I remember more I’m gonna add more! But bottom line is, all of you content creators for the HLVRAI Fandom? You’re absolutely amazing and I appreciate everything you do.

I’ve been seeing some very lovely shit about the wizard/morganthe in the tag in regards to The Wizard basically being at fault for Morganthe’s demise (along with spider being the one to push them to do so) and i just wanna add something I think about a lot

In the game, what’s implied to actually destroy Morganthe is her own power, which plays into the dialogue of other characters talking about how “ooohh she STOLE the power she has, she’s dripping with the stuff”, and the “lesson” of arc 2 being that, if you seek power, it will ultimately corrupt you.

Sooooo based off of that, you might be wondering “but oki, you always talking about how cool of a storytelling bit it is that the wizard is so hell bent on getting revenge on Morganthe, that, even once they learn about the horrors done to her and what she really is, they still end up killing her- why would you bring up that Morganthe essentially killed herself?”

And to that i address the quotations around the word “lesson” in arc 2; While sure, Morganthe’s attempt at conducting the Song of Creation was her demise, it’s important to remember that Morganthe did not willingly become shadow queen. The power she “stole” was infused into her. 

So, the initial lesson falls flat here because.... it wasn’t Morganthe not being able to control herself... she was literally UNDER control. Like sure, the power consumes her in the end- but it wasn’t because she was greedy, it was because she was literally and then injected with it- is was planned to have her be consumed by that shit.

And... here’s maybe something idk if I've talked about before but... this is the point where you realize... Spider seemed to have wanted Morganthe  out of the picture. Why? Well, it’s not stated directly of course (it’s spider c'mon), but the context clues of Morganthe ultimately refusing information to the shadow magic on something... shadow related... and the immedietly being infused with shadow magic... hmmmmmmm, sounds like spider tried to manipulate Morganthe through his followers to free him but it backfired but oooo now she KNOWS too much and needs to be taken care of... but the thign is? no one can kill her. She’s one of the most gifted wizards in the spiral, she REDISCOVERD shadow magic, and with spider imprisoned and only having his tendrils of the shadow web to work with... his new plan was set into motion: Make her a threat that some other, more powerful wizard cant ignore, i’ll offer help to that wizard, and they’ll free me because she’s so terrifying, and even if they can’t kill her, she’ll be SO overwhelmed with power that she’ll likely drown herslef in it by my hand.

Unfortunately, while the wizard was being gaslit and manipulated by Spider to go through with it... Morganthe would not have been backed into that corner and killed by the Song if it were not for the Wizard being the catalyst in everything literally poisoning Mroganthe. And not only do they have to grapple with the fact that they were used by Spider so maliciously, not only do they have to grapple with the fact that Morganthe, their biggest enemy yet, was used so maliciously, but also the crushing guilt that comes with the fact that they KNEW all of that, went ahead with battling Morganthe, and at no point attempted to help her (which we also know how to de-infused shadow from physical bodies as shown after freeing old cob).

So... yea, just like, some added shit ontop of the mountain of “what the fuck” that is in Khrysalis I wanted to mention lol.

Working for SM Entertainment was a dream come true, you got to be a makeup artist for the group NCT 127.

They would occasionally move you to one of the other groups for big events but mainly you stuck with 127, and you couldn't have been happier. Well..that’s a lie. You could be happier, you’d be happier if all of the boy’s could focus for more than three seconds and sit still.

They were really bad about distracting one another while being worked on.

Today is no different.

You were under a lot of pressure anyway due to the fact you were preparing them for a comeback stage, live performances were one thing, comebacks were something else entirely. 

You were currently working on mark’s ‘cuts’ for the Punch stage. Hands shaking you try to keep your chill and not stress too much with the ticking clock on top of the distracted Mark in front of you.

You’ve told him and the other boys as nicely as possible to sit down and shut the fuck up but that did absolutley nothing. Hoping they’ll just stop and you won’t have to pop off on them you continue as best you can.

That is until Johnny decides to crack one of his dumbass jokes and cause Mark to throw his head back laughing. And that was the straw that broke the camel's back for you.

All the boys freeze as you spin on your heel to face Johnny.

Johnny is MUCH taller than you but in that moment you were the intimidating one in this situation, eyes blazing with fire staring directly at him he takes a step back as you take one forward.

“John Jun Suh! I've asked you Multiple times to stop! Would you please just shut up and let me do my job?! You aren't a child Johnny so stop acting like one for five minutes!” You begin to turn away with tears of frustration in your eyes, you turn back to him and point at the ‘Chicago’ tattoo painted on his chest “And you’re not even from Chicago! You’re from fucking Naperville!” you take a deep breath and turn to mark who you notice is holding in his laughter causing his shoulders to shake. “Mark sweetie you’re ready to go.” Using the softest tone you can muster in the moment. The room is awkwardly silent as the boys try not to laugh while Johnny just burns holes in the back of your head with his eyes. 

You gather your kit and leave the room, sitting in a waiting room for staff you try to let go of everything that was bothering you the past few weeks.

Hearing the song end mixed with thunderous applause you prepare yourself for having to go and remove all your hard work from the boys’ faces when the door opens

“I’m comin-” You stand up and face the door, stopping when you see a sweaty and pissed but still handsome Johnny standing in front of you, full stage costume with chains and all. Now that you're not worked up and defiant he’s sooooo much more intimidating than he was earlier, and you’ve never felt smaller than you do right now.

He stares you down from the doorway and can sense how cornered you feel by the way you slightly curl into yourself, it makes his heart race.

Now Johnny would never admit to himself how much of a size thing he has but seeing how much smaller than him you are did things to him, especially seeing it after how you acted earlier.

“That was some stunt you pulled back there” 

You can tell you’ve never been in more trouble in your life.

Shit.

“I know you don’t know much about me seeing as you’re somewhat new, but let me bring you up to speed on a few very important things. I hate being scolded like a child in front of people, especially my younger members and I hate being scolded by those younger than me.”

You swallow hard watching him approach you, knowing you ticked every one of those boxes.

You’re fucked.

“Now I think you owe me an apology sweetheart.” He leans down in front of you forcing you to make eye contact instead of searching the floor, bangs hanging in his eyes.

When you don’t say anything due to your rising anxiety he gets more impatient, gripping your chin to the point he’s pulling your lip down just enough to expose your bottom teeth. 

His rings on the hand he’s holding your chin with reflect the light of the room into your eyes and you try to flinch away resulting in him holding you tighter.

“I’m getting impatient, I recommend you apologize right now”

Has his voice always been this hot to you?

You finally squeak out an acceptable apology for him with a shaky voice.

“See? That wasn’t so hard now was it?” Swiping his thumb over your tugged lip he winked at you and took a step back.

“Next time, you’ll get punished. Please behave.” You nod, heart about to literally burst out of your chest with a mix of embarrassment and arousal and anxiety from the confrontation.

He takes one last look at you from head to toe and then leaves.

Just like that he’s gone.

I think I might’ve nominated this series before, when I wasn’t caught up yet, but I am now and I just have to recommend this chapter. The entire story is gold but this chapter in particular had me sucked right into the scene at the end. The intensity of the fight and the way they deal with everything that is going on; the emotions, the worlds outside of their little bubble of safety. I don’t want to say too much and spoil it for whoever hasn’t read this series yet. But, if you are one of those people, I highly recommend you change that ASAP.

Better late than never, right? At least that’s what I’m telling myself to ease the guilt I’m feeling for how long it took me to finally read this series like I said I would. I didn’t enjoy it any less, that’s for sure. And that was even before I got to the twist that made it even better. I loved the vulnerability between Sam and Erin, and the different kind of friendship she had with Dean.

It’s a heavy read, yes. But it is more than worth it, I promise you.

Physically speaking, on the list of things I love about Dean Winchester, this checks almost every single box. I love the little things you’re noticing about Dean as the reader - his freckles, the contrast between his skin and the black shirt he’s wearing, exactly which Zeppelin song he’s singing while he works. The teasing is a nice touch too, especially the line about the night before. Proud Dean is so cute, and it’s exactly how I would expect him to react to being the hero around the house.

6 paragraphs in, and I knew Val was going to break my heart. This is a gorgeous gorgeous story! Creative premise, great characterization, and written so that you can see and taste and feel every moment.

I found myself wanting to both read faster, and slow down and savor it. And yes, it broke my heart, but so beautifully that I would let it happen over and over again.

This story feels like an episode of the show from earlier seasons, just the right balance of angst and monster fighting with tantalizing peeks of smut and feels. Excellent job!

There are no words that come close to explaining what she means to him. How she saves what soul he has left. These flashback scenes are both hot and tender. The voice the author  gives to Sam is spot on, achingly familiar. The contrast between the flashbacks and the action is painfully good.

What’s more frightening, a man like Dean, practiced in his violence out of necessity? Or a man like him, on the verge of losing everything and nothing left to lose? This is a well drawn distinction between the Winchester brothers, and such a good characterization of Sam! It’s easy to forget sometimes what a fearsome hunter he is, but this author reminds us with razor sharp clarity.

“You’re safe with me, Sam. You never have to hide from me.“ Such a beautiful relationship between Sam and this woman! It’s no wonder he’s fighting so hard to save her.

This story has an imaginative plot, fast paced action and some sweet hotness! Plus the author does such a good job with Sam, I’m in love with him all over again. I haven’t read this author much before but you’d better believe I won’t miss a story now!

The writer of this story is known for her talent with words, but she outdid herself here.

Down To The Bottom - Dorothy :: This is a very new one to her playlist (discovered a few days ago), but it still vibes so well with Saarai’s attitude to love, and her need to have some sort of emotional closeness to other people, to love and be loved, or else she just doesn’t function quite right

Up The Wolves - The Mountain Goats :: This was one of Rai’s first EVER theme songs that made it onto her list as I gave the Ahaszaai the backstory that led to them becoming main characters, so it feels only right that I include it here. To me it perfectly sums up her character progression, from a frightened young woman with a lot of skeletons in her closet and no willingness to be a commander of anything or confidence that she could, to a strong and dedicated leader willing to do whatever it takes to protect the people she works with, and make sure that the person who once took it from her family will suffer the righteous justice he deserves for his actions. Oddly enough, Saarai never goes back to take over the Sith Empire as D’leah planned (in Subterfugeverse anyways), they do eventually “come home” and build something of their own with the other members of the Alliance <3 

Bruno Is Orange - Hop Along :: This song is very important too. It makes me feel a lot of things and as I developed more of Saarai’s backstory and began tying everything together, it became an essential part of her backstory. This is 100% a “Saarai Song” in my brain (and I’ve had the script for that meme planned out for over a year, I’ll get to it soon :3), summing up the chaos and her own feelings on what happened with Tsâhis (and her mother and sister’s reactions to finding out about what happened, and Ty, the baby which resulted from that clusterfuck of a relationship)

Someone New - Hozier :: Kinda supplements “Down To The Bottom”, Saarai was a character who puzzled me sexuality-wise for a long time, she has a lot to unpack and a lot of nuances in her attractions, and for a long time (because it is the default for modern media) I tried to shove her in the monogamy box, except...that doesn’t work for Saarai LMAO. I remembered this song existed one day (I think it came up on Youtube shuffle or something) and it was the lightbulb that went on in my head that finally clicked and told me she was actually polyam as well (though ironically I forgot to actually put it in her playlist until @darth-bagel reminded me it existed again a few months ago LOL).

All The Pretty Girls - KALEO :: (Sash - Zephyrverse AU) This one had a few options too, but I think this is the best song that Sash would associate with Saarai. Their relationship was slow burn, although there was near-immediate attraction there, Sash struggled with self-doubt and her own insecurities for a long time, firmly believing that Saarai would get bored of waiting for her to be “ready” to take things further and explore other options (she didn’t. They’ve been married something like 20+, nearing 30 years now, you’re stuck with her sweetie <3)

The Last of the Real Ones - Fall Out Boy :: (Lana - Subterfugeverse) “I know this whole damn city thinks it needs you, but not as much as I do.”  Lana wasn’t looking for Saarai when she found her, but Lana wouldn’t have it any other way. Though Lana is a big pillar of support for Saarai, and Saarai in turn is the social “glue” that holds the Alliance together, what many people don’t realise is that the feeling is mutual and Lana relies upon her just as much. Saarai’s dependable, and trustworthy, even if sometimes she makes Lana want to roll her eyes into the ceiling because of her antics, she wouldn’t want to change her for anything, it’s that part of Saarai that she secretly loves the most because it reminds Lana that it’s okay to unwind and have fun or be silly every once in a while, especially with the people you love.

Shut Up And Dance - WALK THE MOON :: (Koth - Subterfugeverse) Koth’s relationship with Saarai took a lot longer to develop into something openly romantic because Saarai had a lot of stuff to work through before she could accept her own feelings for him, but the cantina party at the end of KOTFE was the moment that Koth realised she was comfortable with him, because it’s the first time she really opened up to him, the first time she asked him to do anything together, and the first time she didn’t flinch or jump away from him when he touched her.

reminds you of a relationship of theirs, doesn’t have to be romantic, can be paternal, friendly etc.: I’m taking that as an invitiation to do a song for each of the main ones of any kind and that means this one has like six songs because...Saarai has a lot of influencial relationships in her character arc, I’m sorry (but not really) :’)

Broken Crown - Mumford & Sons :: Saarai & D’leah (Familial, It’s Complicated). This one is probably gonna be the “controversial” song of this post but you know what I’m gonna do it anyway. Saarai and D’leah have a very complicated relationship, because on the one hand Saarai does love her mother very much in spite of the horrible things she said and did, and on the other...the last thing that she wants is to turn out like her. And sometimes, sometimes you gotta call your mom out on her toxic shit. Hey Brother - Aviici :: Saarai & Ni’kasi (Familial Love). “What if I lose it all? Oh sister, I will help you out. Oh, if the sky comes falling down, for you...there’s nothing in this world I wouldn’t do.” The “brother” part does not apply to the twins, gender-wise, but the essence of this song is undoubtedly Saarai & Ni’kasi’s relationship. When Saarai thought she had no-one else, Ni’kasi was there to pick up the pieces and get her back onto her feet. They’re ride or die till the very end, wherever Saarai leads, she knows Ni’kasi will follow her.

Son of A Gun - Lord Huron :: Saarai & Tsâhis (Romantic ”Love”, though I’mma be very clear here that he was a manipulative abusive asshole, but Saarai loved him so...quotation marks. Y’get it yeah? Good.) “Well she fell in love with that son of a gun, but he was not the man that she took him for.”  This line in particular sums it up. Saarai was young, naive and a perfect target for someone like Tsâhis to take advantage of because she didn’t know any better and believed him when he said he “loved her”, only for him to pull the rug out from under her feet later on. (he got his tho, don’t worry 😈)

Youth - Glass Animals :: Saarai & Tyûk (Maternal Love). This is the closest I can find to a song that sums up their relationship, I have a lot of thoughts about it but there are very few songs (that I’ve found) that touch upon the essence of Saarai & Ty’s relationship. D’leah chose to blame Ty for his father’s actions, Saarai chose the opposite. She chose to love him in spite of what his father had done to her, and to make sure he grew up feeling safe, loved, and learnt to be better than that.

Curses - The Crane Wives :: Saarai/Sash (Romantic Love) Both Saarai and Sash have had difficult pasts, with a lot of emotional trauma, and they both had hurdles they had to overcome in order for their relationship to truly work and stay healthy. But with each others’ support, they’ve managed it and are all the closer for it. If you asked either of them where “home” was, they’d say the other’s name.

Sorry I Stole Your Girlfriend - Stereo Skyline :: Saarai/Lana/Koth (Romantic Love). Okay, I really really wanted to pick a more serious song from their playlist for them, BUT....this song is the song that started this ship in my brain so here we are. LMAO  Originally, this popped into my brain as an idea of  Saarai’s response to Koth’s attempt at getting between them in that scene of KOTFE on the Gravestone. Koth and Saarai’s moral compasses are very similar and I wanted them to sit down and have a proper, healthy discussion about their feelings instead of becoming enemies and sort of agreeing not to hold a grudge against each other, though I didn’t expect for that piece to get away from me and for Saarai to end up developing feelings for Koth too, I can’t say I’m unhappy with it. I love them and I will fight anyone who tells me I can’t make them an OT3, I can, I will, and I have. >:) (Healthy Polyam Good, Love Triangles Are Fucking Stupid (tm). No I am not taking criticism on this lmao) Though Saarai & Koth’s relationship isn’t sexual in any way, they love each other just as much as they love Lana, just express it differently. So even though the snideness of this song doesn’t really apply to them, I kept it in their playlist and it also became their ship name because it was too good to pass up, though “Stole” is in inverted commas as it’s definitely more of an inside joke between the three of them than actually seriously accusing them of stealing each others’ girlfriend. 🤣 (as always, Saarai & Koth thinks it’s hilarious, Lana rolls her eyes at the stupid pun but also secretly thinks it’s funny as hell)

My Thoughts on Love By Chance 2: A Chance To Love

this isn’t gonna be really professional or in depth, i just wrote my initial thoughts after finishing the last episode.

IT WAS GOOD! i wish saint could have been in it rip BUT IT WAS STILL GOOD! i remember being shocked when i heard the news there would be a s2. like we all thought that it was over, and they even said that they wouldn't make a s2, then out of the fucking blue this is announced. they really had us all lookin like clowns. anyways tin and can were so cute, as expected. although i feel like their storyline kind of went to fast tho bc like they retold the story from when they first met so like they went from not liking each other to suddenly being like 'yes this is my sugar daddy, tin" 0-100 real quick lmao. ae was just a depressing ass mess for the majority of the show until he kind of got it together and helped make that song with tum and keen for pete and the last ep killed me with pete seeing it and crying bc of it, i deadass thought that maybe saint would pop in real quick while they were at the beach but no. i got my hopes up for nothing. at least we got something to know that they probably end up back together tho. okay so tul was hella annoying and just an ass in general but turned out he was just angry that he couldn't be with his true love hin, but like when hin was introduced i was sooooo fucking confused bc they didn't say a word about him in s1, so suddenly this new attractive guy pops in and is like 'oh yeah hey im kind of an important part of the story but im now just being brought in' like tf. but after all that was explained it made sense why tul was always mean to tin, he just wanted to be loved to and was jealous that tin had people that truly loved and cherished him, idk this is just my interpretation and opinion. but im glad that tul got his mans back, just so he'd leave tin tf alone. but tul and hin are hella cute together ngl, and hin trying to win over phu omg this man is making my heart melt. about tum, tar and keen, im actually really glad that tum got over tar and that tar encouraged him to be with keen, the whole tumtar thing has always made me feel weird. i never really liked the idea of them being together, but tumkeen is a ship i can get behind. kengkla and techno is still weird as well. i mean im glad that techno was like 'woah dude chill, give me space, i don't feel comfortable around you' but eventually he was able to forgive kengkla but like idk kengkla is just a really sketchy character in general. like in the last ep when kla grabbed no's hand and techno let go, kla smelled his hand after?!?! kengkla has a strange obsession with techno which idk if that'd be good for a relationship like if techno hangs out with friends i feel kla would just be hella possessive. also ngl i was highkey hoping that tharntype would make an appearance. hey if we can't have saint why not mewgulf? but mewgulf were to busy preparing for tharntype 2 so it's understandable. okay um, i suppose im done now. if i were to compare this to s1, i would say i like s1 better just bc i like aepete more than tincan, sorry not sorry lmao. but i think the thing i enjoyed the most from this season was tul and hin as surprising as that may seem. it just really interested me and i really love hin okay dont @ me. i think it's safe to say that this will be the last time we see the lbc cast...haha......unless???
