What do you mean what's my beef isn't it obvious the kid never just accepts that he's gonna be a mob boss one day and it's so freaking annoying like you're telling me you are fighting multiple enemies and even go into the future and find out that your future self is the head of Vongola family and you still refuse to wise up and just accept yeah im gonna be a mob boss maybe I should stop whining about it and just get with the program like I'm sorry but getting over your refusal to be a mob boss should be end of act one plot point not still unresolved by both the end of the anime and end of the manga bc yeah I read that too oh I've never been more frustrated waiting for this kid to finally be like yeah I accept and take responsibility for my future as the head of my family but we end the series the same way we start and I'm ready to fight tsuna over it

the only time i ever remember watching episodes of something right when/after they came out is with voltron legendary defender when my best friend at the time n i were obsessed w it. the Emotions coursing through me (mostly negative) when i watched those w her were some of the most raw experiences i've ever had. i wish i had been a mob psycho fan when the anime was still releasing that woulda been nuts

Thinking about how everyone talks about how arma always gets so much outside material of all the getter series, like it’s practically most of the merch and whenever getter is repped in crossovers-SRW or not-they always use arma as their iteration but probably due to the fact this a bit of obscure knowledge, I never hear anyone mention the fact arma afaik is the only getter anime to get some side stuff:

<In shin manga there is a singular bonus chapter that is set in armas verse that shows the end of the moon war, written and drawn by ishikawa himself <got its own audio drama cd midway through the shows production that covered events post moon wars but pre show, it also contained two songs that were character songs for go and ryoma, who their vas also sung for <In early 2000s, imagawa, the first director for the anime, in a magazine for a SRW manga he wrote his own three chapter manga that covered some of his ideas that didn’t make it in the final show after he left

Merch and crossover appearances are one thing but it’s kinda crazy how putting aside arc as it’s a full on adaptation, arma is the *only* anime to actually get some manga stuff even if it’s a few chapters, and a audio drama that’s like a hours worth of content on top of that. Like still kinda baffles me that during the whole period of the franchise post-ishikawas death that no one made mangas about any of the OVAs when each of them have potential for a prequel/sequel story that could just be a volume or so long, expect for arma getting a tiny bit of it. It’ll always be so weird to think about it’s the most popular iteration of the franchise despite there being a lot of disinterest for it in the mecha circles nowadays bc of how overused it is yet it’s clearly the one people care about the most and it seems early on it was so apparent it was the money maker.

I was going to put Baron and Toluca on this list (that's, like, a spiritual successor to the OG "Roswell" TV show. Majandra Delfino who played Maria in the show wrote the script, and she and Brendan Fehr who played Michael star in it. They're also planning for more Roswell cameos in later episodes), but it came out and I didn't even know it? But I have no idea how to watch it, though, as I guess it only came out in theaters in Albuquerque. Here's hoping it comes out on DVD or something...

Remember how 4.3 aired early somewhere (German dub? Russian?) and tumblr was kinda dead set that it was a red herring episode? Silly Internet this way everyone knows it’s not a real leak cuz it’s just so bad-type attitude. And then we got the same thing in English. And there was STILL a conspiracy theory about a fourth episode?

Can’t believe you didn’t even mention John beating Sherlock up in 4.2. That felt so brutal to me. But I guess it was controversial at the time whether that was in-character or fucked up? That with the grief and the repressed frustration of their whole friendship it made sense? Idk I just hated it being pained as fine as a whump-enjoyer who never got emotional resolution on the s3 torture. And. Yknow. That recent bullet wound thing.

John’s grief was really controversial in general. I know my bestie and I were. Very Unkind about Martin’s choice of noise to express John’s grief. Like I know irl grief happens all kinds of ways. But my dude. You had to choose that mooing noise? On top of the direct textual contradictions to Sherlock’s near death, it made it incredibly hard to take seriously.

Every so often, I remember that like 80% of Tumblr (myself included) was completely enraptured by a show where the big twist was that the main character forgot his childhood friend was murdered by his sister, and for some reason only remembers his childhood friend ever existing as a dog.
