I know that Grease took care of some of Astrotrain's wounds from the whole portal blowing up thing, so I figured there has to be a scene somewhere in here where Grease shows up hurt from maybe something at the train yard???

anyway, love your characters so much. I've only had these two for half a day but they're awesome regardless. Trains!!!

I do think the train that hits Sentinel should be Astro, but consider Grease finding/hiding/nursing our fav train back to health and in the middle of it all the fighting starts. Wherever it is they're hiding they can see it and hear it, Astro wants to go and fight, but he's still to weak/broken/not coordinated enough. Grease is trying to hold him back (Works or not?) But by the time Astrotrain gets outside all he gets to see is the Elite guard leaving with Megatron.

He still wants to go, even after seeing and hearing about how it went down. Astrotrain wants to follow the "real fighters" and poor Grease is just left watching and waiting for the time when his new friend is going to leave.

Sorry for the rant, your trains au is just so delicious. It sparks so much joy and plot spin offs. Hope you're doing good!

Please never apologize for ranting about the trains (or any of my bullshit for that matter), everytime I receive an ask it's pure gasoline for my brain, which is on fire.

I love the idea of their parting being this slower process instead of happening immediately after the battle, the slow-burn angst, if you will. The parting is inevitable and only a question of time after Astro knows who was the one that fought and took down Sentinel. And Grease knows this and is just thinking the famous "You're heading somewhere where I can't follow."

They shall hold hand... but it will hurt (because it will be just before the inevitable parting). But at least they handled their own little "divorce" better than MegOP, haha (Or at least I hope so!!! Grease wouldn't stand a chance in an actual fight against each other, that much is obvious.)

But also... the idea of Grease just... hiding Astro - a whole damn TRAIN at this point - after realizing he's not just a vehicle summons only one image in my head

Hi and welcome to the big transforming robot fanbase! :D There are more trains out there, such as team Bullet Train, hell, there's even a guy called Vain Train, but yeah, they're definitely not as prominent as bots turning into road vehicles. But hey, at least we can fill the hole in the market ourselves :D

Please let these trains be happy I beg... Now I’m just imagining Grease trying to talk to Astro as he’s repairing him/giving back his thought and Astro replying for the first time. Tweaking out these trains will be the death of me I fear /pos

Augh man... Grease would be definitely talking to him the whole time while working because just because he isn't replying, it doesn't mean he's not aware or listening. And Astro's gotta know this silly bot reconnecting his wiring all of the sudden doesn't mean him more harm than has already been done. He will realize that soon when old connections all over his frame he long had lost control over start coming online again.

And then, when everything is over and they should be celebrating they made it out alive... Grease will watch him leave the city with the soon-to-be Decepticons. (It never ends)

Ohh, they would. Once they actually make it through and out of this mess because honestly, finding out an "automated" train is a Cybertronian would be a big deal on itself. The imminent danger of then fixing Astro just enough so he can start forming coherent thoughts and talk about the things he'd seen... I think Grease wouldn't be sent to the mines. In the mines there are other bots who listen to what other people say. So it'd either be one of the ten secret sub-levels where there is noone who'd listen, or, if it happened to be the mines, Grease wouldn't be sent there unaltered. And I don't mean just missing a t-cog...

Don't apologize, it gives me an opportunity to ramble back! :D Even though I don't have anything figured out about this AU yet, it's fun to think about it! (and cause Pain™)
