the soft hum of the oven filled the small campus bakery, along with the smell of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry mingling together. you wipe your face with your rolled up sleeve on your arm, feeling the soft tickle of flour on your face. you were currently decorating the first batch of perfectly golden vanilla cupcakes. a piping bag filled with a smooth buttercream in your hands as you lean down to the counter. with precise movements, you swirled the icing onto the cupcakes, then topped them with edible pink and red glitter.

the delicious smell drifting outside of the bakery causing people to stop and look for a few seconds in curiosity. it lured multiple people, the feeling of being watched while you worked not foreign to you.

this time however, someone stayed, leaning against the doorframe with a grin.

"wow, look at you," donghyuck spoke, ripping you from your concentration. "the bob ross of cupcakes."

not bothering to look up, knowing his voice all too well. "if you came to steal one, you're out of luck. these are for the valentine's charity event tomorrow only,"

"you read me all wrong," he said stepping further into the bakery. "i'm here to admire the art and dedication. it's a little intimidating, honestly,"

you smirked finally standing up straight. "intimidated by some cupcakes?" you tilt your head. "that's a new one,"

"no, by you." he corrected, now standing at the closest table to where you were working. he folded his arms as he watched you easily shape a cupcake into a heart. "how do you make this look so easy?"

"it's not that hard, you just have to focus hard and practice," you said rolling eyes with a laugh. "i'm sure you could do it too if you tried hard enough," you say motioning to him with the piping bag in your hand, before dipping back down and swirling the icing again.

donghyuck snorted. "please, if i even touched that piping bag, it would end up everywhere but the cupcake,"

your hands remained steady as you laughed. finally finishing the last cupcake of the batch, you put the piping bag down. "it's really just about patience and precision..two things i'm guessing you're not that great at?" you teased.

he gasps dramatically. "well, i'll have you know that i'm very patient and and precise." he turns his nose up. hearing you laugh, he pipes up again. "for example, every time i come in here, i precisely plan out how i'm gonna make you laugh, and i'm still patiently waiting for the day you let me sneak a cupcake."

you rolled your eyes again as you cleaned up your baking space a litte, however you couldn't stop the smile creeping onto your face. "well, donghyuck, if you're so patient , you should actually try baking some time rather than just claiming it's too difficult."

"challange accepted," he siad immediately. he leaned off the table and uncrossed his arms. "i'm gonna bake you something so good, you'll forget about all of these," he says motioning to the cupcakes surrounding you.

you nod teasingly "sure, just try not to start a fire,"

"hey, have some faith," he said laughing as he made his way out, but not forgetting to stop by the cookies decorated with on themed decorations, taking one that said 'love'. and before you could stop him, he was already out of the bakery.

shaking your head with a fond smile, you got back to work.

donghyuck burst into his dorm room, his hair slightly messy from the cold breeze outside and a determined look on his face. Mark glanced up from his laptop, where he was seated cross-legged on his bed, wearing headphones.

“you’re back early,” mark said, pulling off his headphones. “i thought you were studying at the library.”

“wasn’t studying,” donghyuck declared, tossing his bag onto the couch. “i was researching.”

mark blinked. “researching…what?”

donghyuck grinned as he held up his phone, with a recipe pulled up. “i’m going to bake something. for valentine’s day. for her.”

mark paused, staring at him like he’d grown a second head. “you’re going to bake? like… you in the kitchen? with an oven?…that’s on?”

donghyuck rolled his eyes.

“why does everyone act like i’m incapable of doing basic things?” he groaned, throwing himself onto his bed. “it’s simple. melt the chocolate, mix it, cool it—and bam, you’re done. easy-peasy.”

mark laughed, amused at his words. “you literally told me you ‘don’t trust ovens’ because they make ‘loud noises.’

“that was a obviously a joke,” donghyuck said quickly, though the heat rushing to his ears said otherwise. “and besides, it’s different this time. i’m doing this for her.”

mark tilted his head, a small smile forming. “so you’re really into her, huh?”

he didn’t even hesitate. “of course. she’s amazing. Have you seen her work? not to mention, she’s smart, witty, kind, beautiful.” he listed out. “i need her to know i’m not just some loud guy who’s always stealing cookies from her bakery.”

mark snorted. “but that’s exactly what you are,”

“shut up,” donghyuck shot back, sitting up. “look, i’m serious about this. i want to make her something special. she deserves that.”

mark leaned back, studying his face. “alright, fine. if you’re that determined, i’ll help.”

donghyuck’s eyes lit up. “really?”

“yeah,” mark said with a shrug. “but if you mess anything up, you’re cleaning it by yourself.”

an hour later, donghyuck stood in the small dorm kitchen, nervously stirring melted chocolate in a pot over the stove. he was standing at least a foot away from the oven, with an awkward arch of his back, and elbow in the air. mark tried to hold back his laugh as he leaned against the counter, supervising like a skeptical coach.

“careful, hyuck, don’t let it burn,” mark spoke up. “and stop standing so far away it’s not gonna bite you,” he lets out a small laugh.

“it”s fine, i’ve got this,” donghyuck brushed off his warning.

the second he spoke, smoke began to curl upwards from under the pot. “wait is-“

“hyuck its burning!” mark shouted.

“but it- oh shit- wait!” donghyuck panicked and grabbed the handle of the pot. feeling the hot metal burn into his skin, he yelped probably a little louder than necessary, he dropped it causing the burning chocolate to spill out onto the stove and counter a little.

mark sighed as the smoke filled the room. he turned off the stove and grabbed a towel to wave around, hoping that the smoke detector wouldn’t go off. “i thought you said this was easy!”

donghyuck turned to mark after staring at the burnt chocolate, the smell not so pleasant anymore. “the stupid recipe told me to do the wrong thing!”

after opening a window, mark looked back to donghyuck. “well..what now?”

donghyuck sighed and his shoulders slumped. “i don’t know…i guess ill just buy her something..”

mark felt his heart twinge at the defeated look on his roommates’ face. “you’re doing this because you want it to be special right?”

after seeing donghyuck nod slowly he spoke. “then try again, even if it’s not perfect. she’ll see that you put effort in and that’s all that should matter,”

“fine. but if i burn the next one too, im never stepping foot near an oven again. i don’t like the noises they make anyway,” he says with a scowl that mark laughs at.

needless to say, after donghyuck tried again on valentine’s day to make the chocolate; he burnt it again. thankfully not as bad, but it still wasn’t up to his standards.

which is why as he stands outside your dorm door, he hesitates with a slightly frowned look.

when he finally knocks and you open the door, his face immediately lights up at the sight of you.

“happy valentine’s day,” he says shoving the pink box with a red silky ribbon around it to you.

“what’s this?” you ask cautiously but feel a smile creeping up to your face as you grab the box from his hands.

"homemade chocolates," he replies before rubbing the back of his neck. "kinda,"

"kinda?" you raise a brow.

donghyuck groans dramatically and walks inside your dorm uninvited, plopping down dramatically on what he assumes was your bed. “alright, i may have underestimated how hard it is to melt chocolate without burning it… or how much coco powder is too much… or the fact that you’re supposed to let it set before you start decorating.” he rambles.

opening the box, you're left biting back a laugh at the sight before you: uneven lumps of chocolate in odd shapes. some were decorated with sprinkles and others with what looked like smudged writing that you can’t quite decipher.

you were turning your head from side to side trying your best to read them.

“what does this one say?” you ask, pointing to a piece that looks like it’s meant to spell something. you hold it out for him to see.

he leans over, squinting. “i think it’s supposed to say ‘be mine,’ but the chocolate pen thing exploded halfway through.”

you can’t hold back your laughter anymore, doubling over as donghyuck pouts. “hey! stop laughing! i tried, okay? i even watched, like, 40 youtube videos, but those people are liars. they make it look easy!”

“why didn’t you just buy some?” you ask, still giggling as you pop a small piece of chocolate into your mouth. It’s… not the greatest, but it was still edible.

donghyuck shrugs with a pout, his usual confidence faltering a bit. “because… i wanted it to be special,” he admits, avoiding your gaze. “i know i mess around and joke a lot, but i wanted to do something that actually took effort. for you.”

the sincerity in his voice takes you by surprise, and you feel your laughter fade into something softer. a small tint of pink painting your cheeks.

“thank you, donghyuck,” you say, placing the box on your desk and sitting beside him. “it’s actually really sweet. even if they're.. you know…”

“terrible? completely awful? atrocious?” he supplies, grinning despite himself.

“chaotic,” you correct, smiling back.

there’s a moment of silence between you before he nudges your shoulder gently. “so… did it work? are you impressed?”

you pretend to think about it, tapping your chin with your pointer finger. “hmm, i guess i’ll let you know after you take me out for ice cream to make up for the beautiful chocolate.” your emphasis making him stifle a laugh.

he lights up, his grin turning playful again. “deal. but you have to promise not to tell anyone about the chocolate disaster.”

“nope, no promises,” you tease, standing from your bed and grabbing your coat as he groans in mock defeat.

as you walk out of your dorm together, you glance at donghyuck and find yourself smiling. sure, the chocolates were a complete disaster, but somehow, he’d still managed to make your day special in his own, perfectly imperfect way. something he seemed to do every time he was around.

the ice cream shop was pretty quiet, leaving only the sound of spoons scraping the bottom of bowls. you sat across from donghyuck at the small table. as you both slowly finished your sundaes you spoke up.

“i never thought you’d actually try to bake for me,” you said, a teasing smile on your lips. you took another spoonful of your strawberry sundae.

donghyuck chuckled, looking down at his half-eaten sundae. “i wasn’t really sure i could, but i wanted to do something special. even if it didn’t work out.”

you paused, studying him closely. he didn’t look embarrassed or frustrated like he did before; instead, there was a quiet sincerity in his eyes, as if he was letting his guard down with you completely.

“you didn’t need to make anything,” you said softly, “just being with me is enough.”

donghyuck’s gaze softened, his fingers brushing against yours on the table subtly. he leaned forward, the air between you filled with something unspoken.

and without thinking, you closed the distance, letting your lips meet his in a soft, gentle kiss. it wasn’t rushed, but filled with everything you’d both been avoiding saying.

when you pulled back, he smiled softly, a warmth in his eyes. “i think that was worth almost burning my dorm down”

you laughed, a little breathless. “maybe so.”

hii, i’m bells!

thought it was about time i made an introduction.

i’m 21, a capricorn sun, leo moon, cancer rising (astrology freak), my ethnicity is a little complicated but i’ll put it as half british and half portuguese. i can speak english and portuguese fluently and have a half-decent grasp of spanish. i’ve lived in the uk for most of my life. sexuality: no labels.

seemingly never ending harry potter obsession. marauders era, hogwarts legacy era, etc. slytherin girly. i was part of hptok at its peak in like 2020/2021, my page was basically dedicated to it. it was so much fun.

also star wars, specifically the hayden christensen trilogy, but i love the ogs too and i thinkmy favourite spin-offs are the mandalorian and obi-wan kenobi. if i ever get married it will be at lake como, idc how many times it's been done. i was at one of the filming locations last summer (theed palace) and almost crying like a little biatch.

i like video games too (mostly play on switch), but i’m very picky when it comes to finding ones i actually like, then I will rack up hours on it like there's no tomorrow… we love hyperfixation over here. love love love stardew valley, animal crossing and games along those lines but atm i’ve been doing my rounds on the resident evil games (re2 og, re4 remake, re6, down bad for leon kennedy) and also hogwarts legacy, i’ve finished most of it, i just have to complete my field guide now (desperately want to replay for the sebastian quests, also the new mod stuff is so cool!).

music wise, i listen to lots of different stuff, constantly go through phases, but for my all timers, aka can quote their discography from start to finish, i’d probably say lana del rey, radiohead, the weeknd and nirvana. recently it’s been lots of david bowie, queen, beabadoobee, portishead, fleetwood mac, the beatles… i could go on.

i am happy to announce i am free from the shackles of “shift-tok”. if yk, yk. 

i’ll take this as a chance to ask nicely for any antis to please, please, not interact from here on out. thank you.

so, i initially found out about shifting on hptok 2020 (huge surprise ik) and so obviously i wanted to go to hogwarts. like??

needless to say i got caught up in all the tiktok misinformation, blatant lies, complicated asf methods, self explanatory. sorry younger-me. i could explain more but all in all i was too impatient and clueless, didn't really know what i was doing at all, eventually got bored, busy with school, and assumed everyone was lying (a few were, it seems).

 i completely forgot about it all after that until i came across a shifting post on reddit a few weeks ago. my tiktok fyp started filling with shifting/manifestation videos too right after. i was coincidentally in between a rewatch of the harry potter films at this point too. you know where this is going. i started seeing tiktoks from smaller creators just answering people’s questions about shifting, and it was all so different from all the stuff i’d heard years ago, spoken about in a completely different way, which just made so much sense to me and was so intriguing. i decided to delve into it all once again. it was those same creators who also would mention tumblr, and i, who had just joined tumblr for writing related stuff not long ago, decided to start searching up things related to shifting.

 i eventually came across some great accounts and information, stories of experiences, motivation, help. i started reading “journeys out of the body” by robert monroe too, so interesting, btw, and have since began my own shifting/exploring consciousness journey (i try to be careful what words i use for things, for lots of reasons, and i understand everyone might use different terms, reminder that i haven’t been on here for that long). it’s been amazing so far. 

(i may have straight up searched shifting realities on google the other day. curiosity got the best of me. it was bad. don’t do it.)

to not mislead anyone, no, i haven’t actually had a full experience in my specific “dr” yet. however it’s only been a small amount of time and i’ve already had lots of different types of sensations and experiences that i’ve never had before and it’s all so beautiful and interesting to me. i definitely view things a lot differently than i did before. i have shiftblr to thank for it.

i adore finding new shifter blogs and reading everything on them, so if i’m giving stalker behaviour it just means i’m loving your stuff or you're all over my feed. 

idk what i’m even going to post about yet, if or when i do. maybe i’ll write a bit into my “journey” so far, any experiences or how and what i do to get into certain states, about my dr, or stuff i’m just nerdy about in general. 

fyi just because i write does not mean i will always use any grammatical skills at all when writing for blog. sorry ;)

𖨂 ݂ when demi was 6, she started competitive cheerleading and continued until she was 15, just before she left for korea. she still has her old uniform, trophies, and medals stored back at her home in australia.

𖨂 ݂ demi has always been drawn to fashion, inspired by her mother’s works. she would spend hours sitting besides her at her desk, sketching her own pieces. at the age of 9, she somehow managed to convince her mother to release one of them on her clothing line. originally, she wanted to pursue a career as a fashion designer, following in her mother’s footsteps, but after enjoying performing and showcasing her talents so much, she decided to go down the path as an idol.

“Are we almost there yet? I think my knees are-”

Soobin’s words get cut off for a second as another sunflower stem smacks him in the face gently, making both you and his figures stop momentarily. You stifled a laugh as you could feel his cheeks get pulled in from him blankly blinking into your cupped hands that were over his eyes, with his dimple slightly poking out. 

“Sorry Soob.” You grinned before he proceeded to walk once again. 

Today had been one of the few days off that you both had that aligned with the other, and you made it a mission for it to be the best one yet. So with that in mind, you had to make sure that you planned the best date for the day and after getting in touch with a few extended family members and their friends, you knew what had to be done. 

But you didn’t want to let him know what it was since it was a surprise, which was why you had been covering his eyes for the past five minutes. His tall, lanky figure had been crouched down a bit so that you wouldn’t have to reach so far up to do so, but that required him to shift a good majority of his weight down to his knees where he was practically waddling. 

“Babe, I-”

He gets hit with a fully bloomed sunflower this time, and you couldn’t stop the laughter that escaped your lips as you let go of his face. Warm yellow sunlight was slowly filling his eyesight as he looked down to see that you were crouched to the ground trying to catch your breath from laughing so hard. 

“Haha, you did that on purpose-”

Another wack. 

“See that one was on purpose.” You giggled as your hand had let go of one of the taller sunflower stalks that was closer to his face. 

It was almost as if you had been able to read his mind that you started sprinting in the direction towards the part of the sunflower field that was more open. Maybe it was the sound of your laughter in the wind that was blowing into Soobin’s hair and ears, but he thought that life couldn’t get more simple than just this. 

“Gotcha!”

He playfully tackles you successfully into the picnic blanket that you had set up hours ago, and for a moment, he doesn’t realize that things were set up until he blinks for a moment. His eyes had been pouring into yours, but that doesn’t cover up the little picnic that you had set up for him as he looked around to see that there was an assortment of different treats and snacks involving what all looked like. 

“Welcome to my granduncle’s mini strawberry farm!” You grinned as you sat up from where you had been previously pinned down by Soobin, being able to escape his embrace when you noticed that he was distracted by your setup. 

“Do you like it, honey?” 

Strawberry cream sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries, fresh strawberry milkshakes with whipped cream… even a mini strawberry cake. In a field that was filled with sunflowers, and from a distance away now that he notices a strawberry patch, he grins to himself while wondering in what past life did he save someone so important that he deserved all of this. 

Probably you, he thinks to himself as he takes his hands to cup your cheeks to pepper kisses all over your face, making you squeal from the ticklish action and push him away. 

“You didn’t have to do all of this though, when we’ve both been so busy.” He says, before you hold up the glass of milkshake up for you both to share out of two straws. 

“I wanted to do something special for you though, Soobin. Here me out,” You say while sitting on your knees and he nods in response as he settles himself onto his side with an arm holding up his head to look at you properly. 

“When we first met maybe 3 years ago, I didn’t think that you’d like me back given our circumstances…” 

“I really thought that you were in love with Yeonjun!” He pouts in protest, but you hold up a hand to cover his mouth and giggle in response as you continue on with your little speech.

“He’s literally like another brother to me. However, before you I never knew someone that could be so kind… and considerate and so passionate when it comes to loving and taking care of a person that wasn’t themselves. I think you bring out the best of me, Soobin, more than I realize it myself, and I’m so appreciative of you all the time. We’ve both worked so much these last few days, and you always put me before yourself, which is why this picnic was me giving back those moments you’ve done that and put you before myself this time. You’ll always be the one for me.” You say all in one big deep breath, feeling tears pooling at the corners of your eyes but you couldn’t help it. 

Thinking about the overwhelming feeling of love from the person in front of you all the time made you so happy all the time, and there was never a time that you didn’t want to come home to just him. He was your steady rock that you could just sit there in peace with, and you wouldn’t want to have it any other way. 

“Baby…” The sound of Soobin’s voice brought you back as you noticed that he was also tearing up from your mini speech dedicated to him. 

There’s a small chuckle that escapes from both of you as he reaches up to wipe your cheek, but you could tell that he was on the same side when it comes to pretty much almost crying. The two of you held so much love and care for the other where it overwhelmed all of your emotions, but here you were in the middle of what felt like a simple moment that was welded for the two of you; just like glue. 

“I love you, Y/N. You’re my home that I love coming to at the end of the day.” He says and places a small kiss against your lips, making you smile into it for a few seconds before you pull away to look at him with nothing but love for the boy that you wanted to hold onto forever. 

Forever sounded nice, in a field full of strawberries and sunflowers. 

“I love you too, Soob. Now let’s eat this before the sun sets and it gets too dark for us to see, but first let me check to make sure those stems and flowers didn’t hurt your pretty face too much.” You say as he laughs at the memory of him being wacked in the face by those sunflower stems early while you climbed onto his lap to make sure that there was nothing on his face jokingly. 

Yet there was obviously nothing but the love of your life hidden behind those pretty eyes that you stared into every morning and night, and that was all that mattered to you at the end of the day. 

Even if you did purposely hit him with a sunflower.

Nearly all my fics are inspired by songs, and if not, I find a theme song after I come up with an idea! Here is a song that popped up on my playlist recently that I think might make a great fic:

15. What's your favorite AU that you've written?

This is a really difficult one to answer! I have three AUs, and they are all completely different. While Araki is the one I've invested the most amount of time and effort, my favorite au (as embarrassing as it is to admit) is my I Belong to You series. I've never written a spicy story before and honestly, this began as a one-shot to try my hand at that genre 😅

Well, as you can see if you look at it on my AO3 account, it's my largest body of work at the moment - I've dedicated a lot of time on world-building, characterization, and relationships. So, yes while it is rated E, there's far more plot and character development to support the few steamy scenes that are sprinkled in. I love this iteration of zelink I created because they are complete opposites and didn't realize what they were missing until they met. They have a positive influence on each other, and I think for being new to writing, I did a good job showing the arc of how their characters grew as their relationship developed.

UGH. I can’t express how much this song makes me think of them. it’s so sweet and sarcastic, the whole song is very domestic and a more calming view of what their relationship/life could be like together. i can so imagine them dancing together under the stars and just enjoying each other's company without any other care (and perhaps one of them breaking the moment with a dumbass joke). Seriously this whole song is just so perfect for them to me.

4. We’ll Never Have Sex - Leith Ross

Honestly i don’t have much notes to this song but i see it from either of their views and i just. think it’s really sweet and could easily work. “Oh, you kissed me just to kiss me”, for example, a realisation of just being there for the other without much going past a kiss.

Honestly take one look at the lyrics for this, i can see it in either of their views and just an overall look at their relationship. This whole song has a theme of worship and well. yeah it works for them.

6. Work song - Hozier

They are DEDICATED to each other btw. Honestly think this hozier song really represents them and nothing really will break them up!!! (not even death) Also the lyrics mention not asking what wrong they did, and i see that as Jehan not asking Montparnasse of what he’s done unless he talks about it first.

7. Evermore - Beauty & The Beast soundtrack

okay please hear me out on this one. This whole song from Montparnasse’s view, “I never needed anybody in my life”, believing he doesn’t need love or vulnerability in his life past perhaps the patron minette and that he can get by just fine until meeting Jehan and they haunt him.

I very specifically imagine parts of this song in canon era (“Now i know she’ll never leave me, Even as she fades from view.” after Jehan’s death in canon era that even as they disappear they’re always with him). Honestly i could really go on about this whole song being Montparnasse’s view of Jehan i just adore it so much for them.

8. I See The Light - Tangled soundtrack

Okay ngl this one fully inspired by the fact i have a tangled au for them LOL but i think this song can show a meaning of them both having a realisation of their worlds shifting with a new view. Also Montparnasse is so eugene coded.

Jehan! Take one listen to this song and try tell me they don’t convince Montparnasse to dance around their apartment to this. Jehan is just so happy to be in his company and having that feeling of freedom with one another.

A summer trip they think of fondly: Delfina’s family haven’t really gone on a lot of trips, mostly staying in the encanto year-round, but there was one summer when she was eleven that Isabela and her wife took a trip to Charmington and decided to take all the Madrigal children with them. They stayed by the shore for two whole weeks, and little Delfina, who had never seen the ocean before, discovered her love of swimming and had the one of the best times of her life.

Their favorite Disney princess: She’s always admired Queen Belle and her kindness, intelligence, and dedication to her family and subjects.

The first song they would dance to with their partner at their wedding: She and Lonnie would likely dance to “Dance With Me” by beabadoobee.

If they have tattoos or piercings: In addition to her regular ear piercings, she does have two small tattoos, a candle and a butterfly, on her right shoulder as a tribute to her family’s history, and she wants to get more of both in the future.

The scariest moment in their life: When Chad suddenly roped her into his tirade against the VKs at Family Day, ridiculing her use of magic with her gift and accusing her of conspiring with the VKs against Auradon. Standing there with everybody at the event staring at her and not knowing whether they would believe Chad and come after her or not, Delfina hadn’t trusted these people not to side with a respected prince over a magic-using commoner, and she had never been more terrified in her life.

If they would break the law: It certainly wouldn’t be her first instinct, but she could likely be persuaded to perform some light theft or breaking and entering if it was someone she trusted getting her to do it.

Their favorite reality show (because everyone secretly has one): She actually doesn’t have one, for the sole reason that she doesn’t watch a lot of TV; there aren’t a lot in the encanto, despite Mirabel’s attempts to modernize it, and she never really got into it even after coming to Auradon Prep.

If they have a favorite chore: She really loves sweeping! It’s the chore she did the most growing up, and she finds it calming.

If they like being in pictures and what faces they make in them: She absolutely loves being in pictures, and in any ones she’s in you will catch her with a bright smile on her face and usually making peace signs or bunny ears on whoever she’s standing with.

If they get along with kids: Having grown up with four younger siblings and a whole gaggle of cousins, Delfina absolutely gets along with kids, and is amazing at taking care of them too.

Just as me and the universe mutually agreed (after a much needed existential crisis) that, I am in fact, as gay as they come. After a careful analysis and a few buzzfeed surveys later we came to the conclusion that I've spent the last 4 years of my high school experience in the deep recesses of comphet instead of spreading my big fat lesbian wings. whats comphet you may ask… “"Comphet lesbian" means a lesbian woman who experiences "compulsory heterosexuality," which is the societal pressure to assume or be attracted to men even if she identifies as a lesbian, essentially feeling forced to conform to heterosexual norms despite her true sexual orientation; this term is often used to describe the internalized belief that a woman should naturally be attracted to men due to societal expectations, even if she is not.”, yea so imagine my surprise when that term popped up on my tik tok and just casually described my exact feelings for the past 4-5 years! Anyways, after that like any good lesbian I spiraled, told my guy best friend and my cousin, and embraced the term, and made a whole blog dedicated to the deep seeded regret regarding my wasted- homo- potential. I mean the signs where literally smacking me and the people around me in the face, comfort movie: but i'm a cheerleader, never instigating a relationship with men and the two i did have felt more like i got talked into it, never feeling sad when they would break up with me, only reading about girls liking girls, never ending gay jokes that never really felt like jokes, disgusted by any affection guys would give me, (tmi) somehow always ended up watching lesbian p@rn and felt violated and disgusted when anything straight would enter my line of view. So yea after getting bombarded with all that i one sitting and feeling a strange wave of relief when my internal monologue would say “yea you are a lesbian”, i was skipping through my happy gay life until i saw or rather remembered her.

        thanks to that curve ball universe, she was my friend, an old friendship that had ended mostly from stupidity on my best friend and her part. It ended mutually with no animosity but had recently creeped back in and coincidentally at that in the height in which my homo spidey senses where going haywire. To say the last i've never had a crush before,  like ever. I can’t remember a time when i would get butterflies or my confidence in making eye contact or even my ability to land a simple joke (which is more like never, im pretty funny if i do say so myself). So when she started hanging out with us my brain short circuited and she told us how BOTH of my friends had invited her to spend lunch and brunch with us, gee thanks. I want to make clear that even tho i haven't formally came out and been like “hey y’all im a big fat lesbo” to my three closest friends, SHE knows im gay, thanks to the handy dandy #wlw in my bio, which is as far as i'm coming out thank you very much. So let's just say the past 3 days have been hell, she knows im gay, i know shes gay i mean its painfully obvious because 1. she's a masc (long hair, plain shirt paired with baggy pants, rings on every finger she can get them on, and a nose stud)  and 2. the fact she's been OPENLY gay for years. So why in the bloody hell does she think its ok to like ALL of my stories, on my main and my spam. Swipe up to all the tik tok stories i've posted in the past 3-4 days (which is pretty much once a day because my outfits have been fire lately) with, and i quote “cutieee” “fit so fire” “heart eyes” “ZOO WEE MAMA *heart eyes*” “ how can someone be this pretty” “weird way to propose but yes” and “face card too lethal”. IT DOESN’T JUST END THERE she’s migrated to liking my very obviously targeted notes on insta so far consisting of “apple cider  by: beabadoobee” “i wanna be yours  by: arctic monkeys” and “bags  by clairo” and seeming replying with her own targeted notes like : “flaming hot cheetos  by: clairo” and now “thinking about you  by faye webster”, all this paired with targeted reposts on tik tok. DAWG IM TWEAKING OUT because all this raises the universal question of ‘is she flirting with me or is she just friendly” and despite the opinion of the only people who know i like her, i still can’t come to a solid conclusion. 

You might be thinking, “jade that's great and all but all this is online” does the fact that she laughs at ALL my jokes and somehow our eyes always end up meeting help my case. But it also makes me wonder even if everyone reading this was like, “omg she definitely likes you without a doubt” what would i do about it? I know id definitely confess i mean this stupid crush is literally keeping me up at night and eating me alive but even with a fresh set of ‘YOLO’ confidence, the insecurity of her rejection and the possible awkwardness or even worse, the chance she might not want to be my friend anymore is not a chance i’d like to take. I don’t think i’ve ever liked someone like this before, i've never gotten shy around anyone, choked up around anyone, avoided contact, and suddenly cared if my clothes or hair would impress someone, so it's all a new experience, so i fear I'm lacking the answer to the bigger question. virtual angel by artms — i think it fits really well because airi and shizuku are idols and they look up to one another because they view the other as their ideal idol (i’ll be there for you when your wings break). i see this song from airi’s perspective especially though, where she takes it upon herself to be by shizuku’s side through everything, esp after them arguing during the main story + her confronting cheerful*days after inadvertently driving shizuku to quit (letting go of you, that’s a heartbreak) AND the fact that, upon airi’s first meeting with shizuku, she was already encouraging her and paid exceptional attention to her! she’s shizuku’s virtual angel 🙂‍↕️

the shining by the neighbourhood — airi has always been jealous of shizuku but it isn’t because she hates shizuku. it’s bc she’s insecure and doesn’t believe in herself, especially after being discarded and reduced to a variety show character when that wasn’t her true passion. because shizuku’s always been seen as an idol even without meaning to, airi’s jealous. she’s hurt that shizuku is everything that she wants. but she’s always had affectionate feelings for shizuku, judging by her always uplifting her even though she called them “rivals”. she never actually acted like they were. so idk i think the “the way that you glow, everybody knows / you’ve got a heart of gold / and mine is always broken / so i’ll just paint it chrome” line fits airi’s complicated feelings toward herself and her love for shizuku despite it. if that makes sense
