I found this sketch from a year ago in my old procreate files so I cleaned it up just enough to not be embarrassing and added lighting :)

This is a drawing of the photo Wei Wuxian sends of himself to Lan Wangji in the fic: how to fall in love with a catfish: a guide by wei wuxian (disaster rat) by bwyn and Yuisaki !! It has a special place in my heart, not just for being one of the first mdzs fics I ever read, but also because I actually lived in a freshman dorm during the same year it takes place in, which means Wei Wuxian could have hypothetically been my RA 🥺

watched the haikyu movie thinking it was going to be normal but unfortunately i came out battered bruised bleeding and 5 years younger, back in 2019 watching haikyu on my couch and trying to get my sister hooked on it

went to the state fair yesterday and tried so so much good food !!! my favorite things were the pickle lemonade (literally my favorite drink ever since i first tried it a couple weeks ago) and the fried pickles and the roasted corn. feeling like a true midwesterner after that :-)

#although i will say the pickle lemonade i tried by the lake by our house was a lot better #it was punchier #the ones at the fair were watered down a bit i think just from the ice melting in the heat #but it’s just SO refreshing #genuinely something my dr would prescribe for one of my health conditions is a shot of pickle juice #so it was so rejuvenating LOL #it was rly fun !! my home state doesn’t have a state fair like THAT #but it took me back to my 4H days :#when i competed agility w my childhood dog as a kid and camped out to do some horse riding events and archery #and pigs and chickens and such #rly nostalgic haha #i only did pigs one year bc it was too sad #but i was a chicken girl through and through #4H is what started me down the dog trainer career path and sparked that interest as a hobby #i didn’t pursue it seriously until a long time later and have since taken a hiatus bc of burnout but #it did remind me why i fell so head over heels in love w it #something abt being so in tune w another creature like that is just #so special #we didn’t get to watch the stunt dogs tho we missed the show :((#i kinda want to go back again to see them perform #kinda feeling like it might reignite something in me and maybe i’ll start making steps to be a trainer again #i’ve been missing it #personal

genuine question. did anyone else ever take their music player of choice (i had a cd player, mp3 and eventually an ipod nano) and go walking or something involving movement so they could daydream for hours at a time. i have never met anyone else who did this. i had a swingset outside and would swing for like 2-4h at a time just daydreaming. and i didn’t like anyone to watch or interrupt me so my entire family knew to leave me alone. and i also had a specific outfit i would wear for it…always a zip up hoodie and a hat and scarf and they all had to feel right otherwise i’d get upset and couldn’t stay outside. like if the hat was itchy or something it would be too distracting. i had a whole entire universe of characters i’d think about whenever i did this too. genuinely did this for the majority of my childhood. i need to know somebody else did something similar so i can understand what it was about LOL

#i was so particular about it #rain or shine i’d be out there lol. in the snow too #i went through so many headphones and cd/mp3 players #and i used likewire to burn music onto cds or onto my mp3 😭😭 it makes me so nostalgic #i always have used daydreaming to escape lol i do it even now. just without the ritual involved

if escape rooms as team building exercises became popular im not sure if id be more excited or terrified

#if it isnt already anyway.. i can see it happening as a school frosh thing. idk if it would catch on as a workplace thing #i kind of find the concept of being locked in with strangers and working to find a way out weirdly exhilarating though #at least compared to icebreakers cause i dont have to spend 10 minutes racking my brain for something to blurt out abt myself #as a bonus u could like. put people into groups and give prizes to whoever escapes first second third etc. apparently they also do themed #escape rooms.. maybe let people pick a theme? or voluntary sign up? actually this would be really fun for smth like a blind friend date #although if i found out i was locked in a room with an online friend id be too excited to actually escape LOL #ive never done an escape room before so sadly i cant speak from experience. its like up there on things i want to try next to rug tufting #workshop and visiting new art exhibits or conventions. i seriously need to get out more if it wasnt for the horrors <- school and anxiety #i was planning to invite cass to a drop-in art workshop in town but neither of us could go bc typography is making us go thru hell and back #AND THEY HAD A BUTTON MACHINE TOO #im nostalgic bc i miss working in groups and not being awkward abt it or worrying abt schedule conflicts #i realized that i learn best in groups and its a little corny but i like sharing ideas and talking through a problem #in elementary i could just sit down with friends for review and come out of it energized *and* more familiar with the material #and i could technically still do it now. but as adults we're more picky abt who we work with on top of being way more busy outside school #maybe im lonely. im shy and grew up not talking to ppl unless i absolutely have to so its hard to make friends on my own i guess #only thing getting me thru it is telling myself that humans like helping and that my cringe is overblown in my head. but its hard #hence the escape rooms. i have been able to talk to 2(!!) people though!! mostly abt school stuff but im glad to be on friendly terms #i dont really know how to be happy these days cause im constantly scaring myself abt my portfolio and finding places to work #not being ambitious is part of not wanting to put energy into something that wont work out while also not having the passion to do literall #anything else.. i should probably talk to my counsellor ugh #yapping

#the IMPLICATIONS #i completely forgot about that line #room 7 makes me lose my mind in general but ohhh my god #OH my god #i'm #yeah no i'm fine #i have so many feelings about this i can't even put them into words #idk but she speaks about that place with so so much nostalgia #we see blanche in a way we've never seen her with anyone from her past #she didn't look even remotely as happy or peaceful (or nostalgic!) when she visited her childhood home #but when she's in her grandma's old home? she calls it her family home #she talks about it like *that's* the place she grew up in #because apparently it was the only place she was always sure she could be loved #so i guess it might not have been the only place she grew up in #but it sure sounds like it was the one place she was allowed to be herself in and still be loved unconditionally #without competing for anyone's attention #ohh blanche ;-;#i teared up when she held that windchime and smiled right before finally leaving that house #that was *such* a powerful moment ;-;#anyway #uh #i guess i'll just go and stare at a wall or something now #the golden girls #blanche devereaux #adding on to this to say that maybe it really was the only place she grew up in #because to grow up i'd say you need an environment where you can at least somewhat freely explore your identity #without feeling a constant need to be the best/cutest/prettiest sister to get your parents' love and approval #it sounds like blanche grew older in her childhood home #and she got the chance to *grow up* with her grandma #(i knoooow i'm reading too much into this but i can't stop thinking about this episode)
