Todoroki Rei doesn't feel like an actual character.
Her children do, Shoto does, Dabi does, Natsuo and Fuyumi do.
However, Rei just doesn't. We learn about how Endeavor DROVE her insane with his abuse, caused what she believed was the death of one of her children, made her grievously injure another, and locked her away from all of her children for a decade.
She should HATE the guy.
Yet when Endeavor sends those stupid manipulative flowers - she sings his praises and defends him to Natsuo. Tell me how that makes sense.
People have suggested Stockholm syndrome or manipulative psychiatry as reasoning for her inane Endeavor simping despite everything. Yet if this is the case, it should be portrayed tragically, like Harley Quinn is - not portrayed "admirably" and like she is "so kind" like some members of the fandom have called her.
There's also everything to do with Dabi, and I thought surely this revelation should stir up Rei's hatred. Yet it doesn't.
She gives Endeavor a stern telling off with the rest of her children in tow (which we were all cheering at because this is the bare fucking minimum. ) The Touya backstory hits (in part from Endeavor's POV because he's so reliable as the abuser and the cause of this mess 😒. Why didn't you let Touya tell his own story, Hori!?) It scapegoats her and Touya largely to take a lot of the heat off of Endeavor. And then... she tells Shoto as the hero of the family to save Touya.
Umm...no. Just no.
Endeavor is the hero parent. This should be his responsibility - but it should never be on Shoto to save the brother who wants him dead.
Then, in the epilogue, we find her being Endeavor's carer, staring up at her dying son, Dabi.
Do we see her talk with her son, Dabi? Do we see her cry at his state here? - Nope, it is all focused on Endeavor and his guilt/ self pity.
All she is allowed to do is pose with a solemn expression behind Endeavor's wheelchair and smile cutely at her abuser when the story demands it.
The injustice at the abuse victim - incarcerated mental patient - carer of her abuser pipeline Rei's story has taken is so disgusting.
I am horrified and appalled under Hori, Rei will never be free of her abuser and neither will the rest of the Todofam (Endeavor paid for thier new house after all - he still has the power over it and them as an extension of that. Abusive bastard.)
All I can think of is how horrible it is to handle an abuse narrative in such a way - uncaring of what real people this hurts.
THIS 👆👆👆
Yes, Rei doesn't truly feel like a real character at all because of the way she is depicted.
Even though all of the todoroki backstories come from either shoto, Touya or enji we still can see and notice the horror of rei's abuse. Even with there being almost litte to no focus on rei we can still how she suffered and get a general view to how she was driven to insanity.
So just imagine if horikoshi actually allowed rei to have her own proper perspective and we see HER STORY FROM HER VIEW! @thr0wnawayy (puts some of it into deeper perspective) imagine how gut wrenching it would of been and tell me that she would somehow be okay with being enji's caretaker in the end like he isn't at fault for what happend to Touya (touya's death is literally stated to be her final straw and that she fully broke down after that). Imagine rei a young women who tried to do everything for her children and failed, she ended up hurting them even though she wanted and tried to do what she can to protect them.
Rei should ultimately despise enji completely heck there is no reason for her to like him or tolerate his existence at all. I wholeheartedly doubt that her relationship with enji can even be good in the slightest and her having Stockholm syndrome or manipulative psychiatry also to me doesn't make sense at all after the guy put her and her children through straight hell. Why is her opinion of enji somehow swayed after flowers? He doesn't do anything except send flowers (and I don't even think he has always done that) it's like she has no one. It's like the narrative is blatantly ignoring fuyumi and natsou who stay with their mother and keep her company. Heck fuyumi and natsou brought their mother clothes but somehow only enji's flowers hold any significance. What about shoto who after everything also started a relationship with his mum?!?!?
Why the actual hell does the narrative frame enji giving rei flowers as somehow more meaningful and symbolic than her children doing the exact same thing and more for her!!!!
How about we talk about how horrible rei's condition must of been if she and the doctor said that she shouldn't see enji even though she hasn't seen the man for a decade?!?!? How about we talk about how Rei literally said that she was scared of seeing enji even though its been 10 years?!?! Why does the narrative seem to ignore this moment and its exactly when this moment is ignored that her making an appearance face to face with enji holding the flowers he gave her in chapter 300 is such an underwhelming scene. I personally felt such mixed emotions with that scene.
This scene and what comes after it all feels weird to me and it fails on so many notes. Rei comes in holding the flowers enji has given her and we are supposed to interpret this as her finally overcoming her fear of enji and stepping up both as a character and parent but it falls apart because
We aren't that emotionally connected to rei (she should of had her individual arc that tied her to the family and allowed us to see her prespective)
We haven't seen the steps that led her to becoming like this
After she doesn't even properly beat or scold enji at all. It all ends up being a pathetic speech where the narrative seems to shun from putting almost majority of the blame on enji and instead she continually says its her fault (the narrative tries to paint it like it's all of her fault when It isn't she is part of the problem but enji never seems to get that much criticism)
All of these reasons are there to show that Rei doesn't feel like an actual character. She starts and ends the same and even when her son, Dabi ends up in the same position as she starts from she doesn't even speak to him in chapter 426. Actually she tries and all she says is that she has a lot to talk to him about but then enji hogs all the screentime and she stands back separated from the conversation.
Rei, unlike her family is also not written in a way to fit the families dynamic. Her character isn't logical in a way where she is supposed to hate enji after all he did. Rei also doesn't have role unlike the other members of the todoroki family.
We clearly see that fuyumi wanted a happy family and tried her best to keep up appearances.
Dabi absolutely despised his family after he learnt about his creation but ultimately even as he tried to run away he still has memories of playing with natsou and even when on the verge of death in the 2nd war arc he instinctively calls out to them.
Natsou is like dabi in hating enji and wanting to run away except he follows and accomplishes this in a different path.
Shoto is completely trapped and is supposed to be the saviour child whether that be for enji wanting him to be his masterpiece or for rei putting the title of family hero onto shoto (which she shouldn't of done at all)
Enji neglected dabi and he is the reason why dabi was made. Rei acknowledges this multiple times that what touya wanted was his father's love and attention and she even goes to blame herself saying that she should of tried harder into convincing enji to talk and spend time with his son (which she already did before but he flat out refused and ignored her)
After this rei also claims that shoto is the families hero and this puts pressure on shoto to save dabi, his brother who wanted to kill him for being enjis favourite ever though he never asked for it and actually ended up suffering for being enjis favourite.
Yes, shoto reaching out to rei was important for both shoto and her. It symbolised shoto starting to heal and reconnect with his mother whom he cared about so much and for rei it was a new hope for her and a new goal to be a good mum to reconnect with her child. However, shoto isn't the families hero. He doesn't need all of the families problems on him and he for sure doesn't need to solve them all especially when enji was the one to cause them specifically the ones to do with dabi.
Ultimately I stand by the choice that enji should of died in the first war arc giving more focus to shoto and the rest of the family members.
Enji would die in the line of duty so you would probably have a lot of people try and excuse his behaviour and this would be a good way to explore how this negatively effects the todoroki family and dabi who grows to have even more resentment and has to learn that shoto's life was full of suffering under being enji's favourite.
Rei should of had an arc that tied her into the jaku hospital arc where she learns about touya and stands up to enji at the same time while coming face to face with a lot of the new information and maybe even learning about genten himura her distant cousin. There is so much that could be done with rei and all we got in Canon was a horrible non existent arc where she is used to prop up her abuser!
In the end enji doesn't face consequences for his actions (being disabled isn't a consequence) and his whole dance in hell with dabi ain't even effective because enji hasn't experienced true hell (not to the extent of dabi). In the end enji still has people and he still has money his hell can be paradise for some people like the villains.

the magus situation, or, "ak remembers log horizon exists and it exacerbates the brainrot"
(gonna be a long one)
so to the surprise of absolutely nobody i did in fact watch log horizon at one point in the past, and also tried reading the light novel but never ended up finishing it. my opinion on it is mostly "solid and had good potential, with some unfortunate quirks to how it's written". the anime is better than sao's, but the novel is worse
this isn't what this post is about
it's instead about a certain *spinoff manga*
the fuckign west wind brigade manga in all its janky beauty. it's a story that takes place in parallel with (and overlaps with) the main story while focusing on different parts of the world and a completely different cast of main characters. it tends to be somewhat more light-hearted than the main story (but not by a lot)
it's also technically a harem story, but in the same way UQ holder is, which is to say that soujirou seta has that touta konoe charm that makes me go "yeah i fully get it this guy is impossible to hate"; he's more the guild dog than the guild leader half the time (affectionate)
*anyway*
spoilers for the west wind brigade manga incoming
so the afformentioned soujirou seta (middle character on the manga cover) is in fact the very first person to die after the catastrophe, and in the process he proved that even after the world became real, *respawning was still a thing*
which suddenly made the prospect of pk'ing much less ethically daunting, leading to a massive explosion in guilds of bored disillusioned trapped people with nothing better to do starting to kill and loot en masse, as was already a massive plotpoint in log horizon proper. some are big guilds, some are smaller
and some are technically solo
which brings us, finally, to magus
*fucking magus* (affectionate?)
edgelord in a longcoat with the cringy speeches
but it's not exactly sincere is it? it's all forced, constantly like he's talking as much to himself as to his "audience"
like he really *wants* to believe what he's saying
"it's all a game anyway, i can do whatever i want! definitely! right? RIGHT?"
it is, in fact, a coping mechanism
because to admit it's real would mean it matters. would mean you're not actually hidden away anymore. no walls to hide behind. no mask
because it's all mask
it was the whole time
because it's easier that way
the persona and the longcoat an the fancy explanations for why it's totally correct and real, trust me! definitely not fucking desperate over here, no sirree!
it's the beater again. there's a beater in log horizon but you never meet them in the main story. because for this beater, the game doesn't end because it's over. but because they finally admit to themself it was never a game to begin with. which was of course the only way out, because log horizon doesn't have a win condition
if you can't "win", you need to stop playing
but that's not quite the whole story, is it?
because you know how it is with beaters
there's always a little footnote at the end
this funny little common thread that all examples ive found so far seem to share
yeah there's a massive very explicit gender angle to all of this because it's just part of the package at this point
and that is how magus' redemption arc also has her turning into a girl
it's frankly amazing, the thematic parallels write themselves, it's so delightfully on the nose!
this whole thing is in fact one giant transgender allegory that's barely an allegory at all
the "edgy longcoat-wearer with terrible coping mechanisms" to "cute akward goth girl" pipeline is real
#ak goes insane#long post#log horizon#beater theory#brainrot is real#magus log horizon#soujirou seta#west wind brigade

Okay there's this one ""stereotype""?? I've noticed I've always had myself and it's kinda funny tho, but also it's kind of interesting thinking about it???
It's kinda hard putting my thoughts into actual words so bear with me here kfhdjd
So basically yknow when people are joking about how [sexuality] often has a completely different "taste" in [gender they're not attracted to]
I already felt this back when I was in my lesbian stage of the pipeline from pansexual to aroace ( How is this such a common thing???? Why are we all so oblivious?????) and I'd often had male characters/actors, etc, that I'd call adorable and be like :3 look at him!!! And then I'd had people just be like bruh... why...
And I still have this a lot, where I love to look at someone in the aesthetic way and just think they're very pretty or cute and then I'd often see people call them looking weird or ugly. Does anyone else have that?? Maybe it's also because in my head I just don't categorize people into ugliness, I think it's weird calling people ugly, either you like how someone looks or you don't, they can't exactly do anything against it?
And to come back to the "stereotype"/joke about people with weird tastes, I think it also comes back to appreciating someone's appearance in a different way other than being attracted to them. It's just natural that most of the time the people are getting thirsted over are more "conventionally attractive", because even if it's subconsciously, people will often look at them in a sexual or romantic way.
And I've always found this weird, especially when seeing people thirst over characters or idols, etc, I always get disgusted- not in a judging way, I just don't wanna see that stuff goodbyee 🛌 I have so many blocked or muted just because thirst posts keep showing up on my for you pages bc the general fandom likes it. So if you're blocked by me on any site, it's probably nothing personal... Tumblr sadly doesn't have a proper efficient way to mute that, so I just always have to block and feel lowkey bad 🥲
So yeah, what I'm thinking is you can appreciate someone's beauty more freely when you don't see them mainly in a sexual way. Obviously, this isn't a FACT, just an observation from different reactions. Like when someone gets called ugly and it's immediately being made about something sexual or romantic, like "you're never gonna get a girl looking like that!" "I wouldn't wanna sleep with someone ugly like you!!", it just feels so weird to me... Obviously, it probably does to most decent people, but I hope you get what I'm trying to say here kdjdjdhd
On another note, maybe it's just a personal me thing, but sometimes I'll have a ship only to find out... no one else ships it?? Or barely anyone.
Now, I really hate romance and avoid it like the plague, but every now and then, I'd have two characters I'd ship a bit and think they're kinda cute together! (Although I'd probably not want any of those to actually be canon bc I can't stand watching cheesy scenes lmaoo)
But when I get into the fandom and see the general ships and everything, I'd often just notice no one seems to think the same???
It's just no matter what I like, it seems it's completely different from the vast majority 🥲 Maybe I just have weird taste man 😭

Why do you enjoy DirkJake as a ship?? 🧡💚
(I could do an entire dissertation, but I'll keep it reasonable... Or try to!)
So why do I enjoy dirkjake? Possibly because there are a trillion plausible ways their dynamic could work and each one is messier than the last, which sincerely brings me joy to think about!
Like your average dirkjake fan I like the childhood friends to lovers to exes to possibly lovers (?) to enemies (???) pipeline (I'm not immune to the divorce propaganda), but their duality when it comes to comedy and tragedy really does it for me. I enjoy their machinations, the absurd 4D chess courting they get up to, and most of all I enjoy the ugly and bitter bits that come with them being undersocialized teenagers—then young adults—struggling with their identity in the literal end of the world. Their struggle feels very 2000s and very real despite the fantasy aspect and that's something I long for in fiction!
On that same note, the "inevitability" of the pairing is also a big factor for me. Some may say that if Dirk hadn't pushed it, dirkjake wouldn't have happened at all and I can sort of see how Jake needed a "nudge" (or more like several) to get there, but personally I like the idea of them learning to love each other when the scope of their world widens and them being together stops being a necessity and starts being an active choice.
... What else? Being the characterization-obsessed ass I am, I love their contrasting aesthetics and personalities... Not to mention the narrative obsession they have for one another. Like, seriously, how do you even begin explaining Brain Ghost Dirk? The implications are Downright Insane™!!!
And it's so interesting that most of what we know about their relationship canonically isn't even legit, bona fide dirkjake... What a fantasy, what a trip!
So yeah, I'd pick messy queer representation over "proper" representation any day and Dirk and Jake are far from picture-perfect! Their relationship has the potential to be very silly, very tragic or—as is often the case—both... and honestly? That's enough to keep me here!

i keep seeing folks using FGO's 'Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental' disclaimer as a defense/excuse that the game's depiction of Wandjina is fine, which is the most low effort excuse in the book, but it's also bullshit
First of all even with the disclaimer it is still a potential violation of aboriginal law, but also potentially copyright law. Japan is notoriously strict about the use of IP/copyright. Unless they went through the proper procedure (doubtful) it stands to reason they didn't know there were laws surrounding Wandjina in the first place. Otherwise, I don't think she'd have made it through the pipeline. Even then though that is not an excuse
The disclaimer also isn't there to waive the company's responsibility for disrespectful/incorrect/forbidden depictions of people or religious figures (something I've seen both sides of the argument claim to be its purpose). It's there to protect the company from people who claim to be personally connected to and affected by the depictions
An example: Let's say there's a Real Living Person out there right now named Bartholomew Roberts. Let's go a step further and say this guy also looks kinda like the game's depiction of the pirate captain. The disclaimer is there so that this guy cannot sue the company for 'using his likeness' for their game. It's also there so that Living Relatives of the pirate can't sue the company for how he's depicted or for 'false' claims FGO Roberts makes about his history or interests.
The disclaimer does not, and was never intended to, protect the company from depicting a figure that is literally against the law to depict.
#this should go on twitter but also.#fuck that cesspool i post art there. i dont get involved in arguments on the internet there#anyway. theres layers to this. and people reference the depiction disclaimer in the wrong context on both sides so#there ya go. legal clarification on what it actually is there for#use this information as you see fit

Ah man, can i tell you about my KiriKami/Monoma & platonic Bakugo?
Ok so at first Bakugo hates Monoma but he comes around to being his friend after the last war, Monoma saw him kick the bucket so i think they are allowed to be friends after that. Monoma and Bakugo became friends he visited him in the hospital to apologize in his own way for the sports fes thing but Bakugo tells him not to and they just have a moment together
like this doesn't matter but he feels bad about it now and they seemed like they were friends in the endgame, Monoma using Bakugo's quirk to make explosions for their graduation cause his arm is messed up
Now, Kirishima and Kaminari they were dating like it was a bro thing but it evoled one day and the classmates were like "are you guys dating??" and they were like "No? i don't think so?" and one day Kaminari asked Kirishima if they could kiss MAYBE THEY WERE PLAYING SEVENMINUTES IN HEAVEN AND GOT LOCKED IN THE CLOSET TOGETHER? or maybe they were just sitting in one of their rooms together and Denki is just thinking real hard about "do me and Kirishima really look like we're dating???" and he needed to confirm it.
They kiss and it's magical so they start dating
Monoma and Kirishima have this weird relationship of Monoma keeps actively getting on his nerves and is really the only person practically on the planet who can make a nice guy like Kirishima truly mad. This somehow leads to him coming over to the 1-A dorms alot and this is mistake number 1 cause he starts going in Kirishima's room and one thing leads to another one day he wakes up in Kirishima's bed with Denki and Kiri and it's like huh, cause we are a poly now.
Monoma is just a snooty Bakugo so i would like to think of their dynamic as so cause Monoma/Kiri is just KRBK when you think about it, Bakugo and Monoma are so the same, they need somebody to make mention of certain subjects to get the ball rolling for them to speak, like "I don't need your help but since you offered i wont turn it down" is what Monoma would say while Bakugo would say "YOU VOLUNTEERED I WONT STOP YOU"
same thing another font.
i don't know if anyone as ever spoken about KamiBaku hear but i think Monoma and Kaminari would get along well enough to keep the relationship stabled but it's mostly Kiri dating two guys who aren't really dating eachother but they still like are romantically alright with kissing and being labeled as so relationshipwise.
Bakugo's is the best friend but he's like platonic with them all.
He and they are perfectly ok with kissing either of them on the mouth or anywhere on the face or hands. Monoma was not on board at first but he got used to it when he became friends with Bakugo but Bakugo isn't going out go out of his way to kiss Monoma out of the blue at first if he just felt like it
Bakugo isn't in it he's just the platonic friend
do you see my vision?
anon i read this several times and woah i can see your vision
okay so katsuki and monoma being friends is something i have been thinking about this week, something about monoma seeing bakugo dying and not even being able to blink or take his eyes away from it all really changes his brain chemistry. it starts slow, but with the end of the war monoma just cant help but to have at least some empathy for him, so it starts with that until they eventually become proper friends, which means he's more around the 1A dorm
as for kirikami i love their friends to lovers pipeline, I'm so down for the idea that they just date without knowing and everyone is like ??? bros yall dating . and they're pikachu face :O cause woah they really are, so they just continue it because it feels good and it makes a lot of sense.
and for the poly with monoma, i can see it, i really do, but like you said i don't think monoma and denki would be boyfriends themselves, like they hold hands and all but its like they are dating Kirishima more than dating each other, they still have couples dates and throuple dates depending on the vibe !! i also loooove the idea that one day monoma just wakes up in bed with them, cause it implies probably some fighting leading to sex which is so on brand for someone like monoma lmao
so yeah i totally see that and now i wish i could read some more about them

thanks for the tag jo @liamlawsonlesbian <3
star sign: aries sun, capricorn moon, virgo rising. being chill and normal was never an option.
favorite holiday: probably Halloween 💀 as someone who loves horror and is a recovering theatre kid, it's perfect. plus, i'm gay.
last meal: three twizzlers & a litre of ginger kombucha
current favorite musician: i've been listening to a lot of Wolf Alice and SASAMI recently.
last song listened to: 'No Girl So Sweet' (PJ Harvey)
(a tangent... but if any of my mutuals want to stalk each other on Spotify pls lmk...)
last movie watched: Talk to Me (2023) dir. Danny & Michael Philippou. i watched it on my flight and it was honestly a lot better than i anticipated. even though gore isn't typically my favourite, i was pleasantly surprised by how they managed to integrate it into a possession film. loved the grief-driven storylines, and the characters charmed me. rating: ☆☆☆
last tv show watched: Betty (HBO) !!! i have debilitating crushes on everyone from Skate Kitchen.
last book finished: Empire of Wild by Cherie Dimaline. it was assigned in one of my first year uni courses and i sped through it without really taking the time to read it properly. now that i have it's been rotting my brain non-stop. her use of simile is insane.
i also recently finished An Anthropologist on Mars by Oliver Sacks. one of my all-time favourite authors and academics, would highly recommend this as a foray into 'medical' non-fiction.
last book abandoned: i don't think i've ever abandoned a book in my life, but i recently had to choke down this technical document about building codes that i can't be bothered to remember the title of.
edit: just remembered the absolute chore that was reading Outlawed by Anna North. i feel cheated and lied to by the cover because i love the cover, but the book is honestly unbelievably boring. i’m tired of the evangelical horse girl narrators, i had enough of those where i grew up. i did finish this because i hate quitting, but it tested my patience and made me feel like pulling my hair out.
currently reading: Milk Fed by Melissa Broder (for like the third time). this book is sooo weird and kind of gross, in the best way. it's definitely not going to appease everyone but i have a sick fascination with it and keep coming back. i've also been having a love affair with the cover design for a while now.
last thing researched for writing/art/hyperfixation: common apartment floorplans in Italy (if anyone has this info, hmu). i'm also in an internet sinkhole of background on the 2024 F2 grid and their respective karting histories.
favorite online fandom memory: when i was 15 i had public beef with a bunch of conservatives in a politician's comment section over pipelines and green policy and then said politician blocked me on every platform. this wouldn't be fandom related if not for the fact that i used my fan account to do all of this, so [redacted] had to search my cringe username multiple times... like omg are you a fan?
favorite old fandom you wish would drag you back in/have a resurgence: the euphoria that i felt being a part of the haikyuu fandom during quarantine will never be replicated, but i think about it every day.
favorite thing you enjoy that never had an active or big fandom, but you wish it did: i'm really into the original, morbid Grimm fairytales and wish that someone would produce a proper remake of Cinderella already. let the doves pick out the step sisters' eyes, cowards.
tempting project you don't have time for: this is a trick question because i always give into temptation regardless of whether i have time for it or not. i really want to do a series of deep-dive posts about track design and the 'architects' of f1... i've been fixated on it for a while now and haven't seen a lot of discussion about it, plus it seems like it would be fun to put all the research together :)
~ all the people i would tag have already posted, but pls do it if you'd like!

Why API Testing Is Crucial for Developers and How to Simplify It
In the world of software development, APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) play a crucial role in enabling seamless communication between different systems and applications. APIs allow different software applications to interact, exchange data, and perform tasks efficiently. However, developing an API is just one part of the process—ensuring that the API functions properly and remains reliable over time is equally important. This is where API testing comes in.
Why API Testing Matters
API testing is a critical part of the software development lifecycle. It ensures that your APIs work as expected, perform efficiently, and remain secure. Without thorough testing, developers risk introducing bugs, security vulnerabilities, or performance issues that could negatively impact the entire application or system. Here are a few key reasons why API testing is essential:
1. Ensures Proper Functionality
The primary goal of API testing is to verify that the API performs its intended functions accurately. Whether it's retrieving data from a server, processing user inputs, or interacting with a database, testing ensures that each endpoint works correctly. Without proper testing, APIs could fail to execute essential tasks, leading to frustrated users and broken features.
2. Improves Security
APIs are common targets for cyberattacks, and any vulnerability in the API could be exploited by malicious actors. API testing helps identify security flaws such as authentication errors, data leaks, and potential points of attack. By thoroughly testing the API, developers can mitigate security risks and protect sensitive data from breaches.
3. Optimizes Performance
APIs need to perform under different conditions, from handling small requests to managing large amounts of data. API testing helps ensure that your API can handle traffic spikes, respond quickly, and maintain functionality even during high-demand periods. This is particularly important for applications with a large user base or those relying on real-time data, such as team chat apps or database management tools.
4. Enhances Integration with Other Systems
Many modern applications rely on APIs to integrate with third-party systems and services. Without proper testing, integration issues can arise, causing disruptions in data flow or communication between systems. API testing helps ensure that APIs interact seamlessly with other tools, services, and platforms, whether it's for communication via a team chat app, data retrieval, or triggering automated processes.
How to Simplify API Testing
While API testing is crucial, it doesn’t have to be a complex or time-consuming task. There are several ways developers can simplify the API testing process, allowing them to ensure quality while saving time and resources.
1. Use Automated Testing Tools
One of the most effective ways to simplify API testing is by using automated testing tools. These tools can run repetitive tests, quickly identifying issues without requiring manual intervention. Automated testing tools can be integrated into your development pipeline, ensuring continuous testing during each stage of development. Platforms like Onetab AI’s API management suite can help automate API testing, making it easier to spot issues early and fix them before they cause major problems.
2. Leverage Mock APIs for Testing
During the development of an API, testing against a live environment can be challenging, especially when the system or service it depends on isn't available or functional. By using mock APIs, developers can simulate real-world responses from the API, allowing them to test various scenarios without needing access to the actual system. This can speed up development and testing processes, especially when designing complex database interactions or third-party integrations.
3. Integrate API Testing into the CI/CD Pipeline
Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) are integral parts of modern software development. By integrating API testing into your CI/CD pipeline, you can automatically run tests every time a new version of your API is deployed. This ensures that any issues are identified immediately and that your API remains functional with each update.
4. Utilize Comprehensive API Management Platforms
Comprehensive API management platforms like Onetab’s API suite offer features that streamline the testing and monitoring of APIs. These platforms provide easy-to-use dashboards for tracking performance, testing different API endpoints, and ensuring that everything is functioning as expected. Tools that include API testing, monitoring, and mock API servers can simplify the entire process and give developers more confidence in their APIs’ stability.
5. Test for Edge Cases
In addition to testing for expected outcomes, developers should also test for edge cases, where the API is subjected to unusual or extreme conditions. This includes testing for invalid inputs, unexpected data formats, and network failures. Ensuring your API behaves correctly in these edge cases is crucial to providing a robust and resilient application.
The Role of API Testing in Database Design and Team Communication
API testing doesn’t only ensure your API is functional—it can also play a significant role in database design and team communication. A database design tool, for example, often relies on APIs to interact with databases. Testing APIs that connect to databases ensures that data retrieval, storage, and manipulation happen as expected. Without proper testing, database queries could fail, causing errors and data inconsistencies.
In team settings, API testing tools enable better collaboration and communication. Developers can share the results of API tests in real-time, facilitating smoother teamwork. This is especially useful when working on large-scale projects where different team members might be responsible for various parts of the system, such as database management or developing an API for a team chat app. Clear communication and reliable tools ensure everyone is on the same page, making it easier to fix issues and deliver a high-quality product.
Conclusion
API testing is a critical step in the development process, ensuring that your APIs function correctly, remain secure, and provide optimal performance. By using tools and strategies like automated testing, mock APIs, and CI/CD integration, developers can simplify the process and save valuable time. Whether you're developing an API for a team chat platform, a database design tool, or any other application, API testing helps deliver a reliable and seamless user experience.
The next time you work on developing an API, remember that comprehensive testing is key to its success. With the right approach, you can ensure your APIs will perform flawlessly and meet the demands of users, making your applications more robust, secure, and efficient.

idk much about Matty but for a guy that seems a bit flighty and prone to ghosting, he seems to have had a few serious relationships though. More than Taylor actually. So the whole promising her marriage and all, it doesn't seem like just a lovebomb tactic. Unless he just realized he actually didn't want it or couldn't see it happen with her, cause the fantasy version of her was better than who she actually is. As a person I mean, cause as an artist I feel like he respects her and all. I just wonder if everything else apart from the artist that makes Taylor, Taylor is actually the kind of woman Matty he's into
He def has had multiple serious relationships. And I agree he didn't just "lovebomb" like as a manipulation tactic and genuinely thought this was dead serious. But I do think the vitriol online absolutely shook him to his core because Matty reaaaally likes dicking around online and seeing that much hate about himself must've really hurt him. People were straight up signing petitions and calling him a Nazi and shit (which he isn't lbfr) and idk that any girl's worth all that like even if you really fucking like her, if you also really like being online, and if you have pretty delicate mental health (which he does). I also think he got to know her pretty well 2021 onwards so yes he really really really liked her beyond liking her as an artist and also he (clearly) actually really really really wants to get married and have kids (Twigs -> Taylor -> Gabby pipeline). I'm not Matty and fuck alone knows what he was thinking but my guess would be he ghosted because he wasn't sure what to do? Like he obviously really liked her but he didn't at all like the situation they were in. I also still think eventually they would've split anyway but I do think what spurred the ghosting was all the online stuff and how much he likes online stuff. He did deactivate shit and whatnot but the problem is he... likes doing that kind of stuff. He really enjoys being online. So to give that up would be like to give up a part of himself/his identity/his life and idk that he was willing to do that or that it would be a reasonable expectation from someone. There was also pressure on him to change his show/act and look like he was willing to make adjustments (he did stop kissing fans and tbh when he goes back on tour now that he's engaged/possibly is married when they next tour, I wouldn't be stunned if he stops doing that again) but he can't just create a new act because that's... who he is? He's Matty, the frontman of The 1975, and he performs as a weirdo called Truman Black. Doesn't mean we have to like every decision he makes but yk what I'm saying? Like he can't change everything about himself for a girl and tbf I don't for an iota of a second think Taylor wanted him to but her fans/the internet did and that must've been tough. He handled it really weirdly and badly though still imo but yeah. I think they're better off split, I think he should've handled it differently, and I think both still have some unresolved questions in the back of their heads (not in a Maylor way but like they've never gotten the opportunity to really truly give it a shot - personally I think it'd still fail lol but hear me out - so there will still be some "what ifs" going on for them probably forever tbh unless they do a Tatty 3.0 one day but even that wouldn't be a proper test because now there's sooooooo much baggage lol).

quick kink Q&A because I'm having a ✨Real OCD Moment✨ just another of those "fun" conversations I have with my brain
Q: Do you really like [kink]?
A: I probably do! And if I don't, with enough exposure, I probably will!
Q: Do you endorse [kink] in real life?
A: Sure! I implement kinks in my everyday life even outside of sensual contexts because I like it. Whatever other people do in their own lives is none of my business though.
Q: Aren't you just rationalizing [kink] because you're secretly into [kink] outside of a kink context?
A: Kinks can be a safe gateway for people to explore things/themes they would not be able to explore otherwise. What get people off is also none of my business.
Q: So you're saying you don't care if people who like [kink] hurt others?
A: This kind of question is awesome! I love it! This is precisely how you get sucked into the "trans people are predators" pipeline, for example. Good job! But to answer this seriously: many people who engage in kink try to be informed about risks and potential harm, and try to do the work to maintain a healthy relationship with themselves and with others, to avoid or minimize risk. I personally feel like communication take precedent over the kink scenarios themselves, where people will discuss boundaries, triggers and consent before playing. Another scenario is engaging in kink in fiction, which is pretty much harmless if you have the proper critical thinking skills and maturity to engage (if you're trying to engage), or to walk away, if it's not good for you.
Q: But you know some people do [kink] for real, right? That's a crime/immoral/unethical!
A: That's not what a kink is. These are two completely different things, that have completely different implications.
Q: [Kink] is wrong even when it's fictional or between consenting adults though! And if you don't condemn it too, aren't complicit with the harm it's causing?
A: That sounds like a "You" problem though. Again, what people do with their own lives, and what gets them off is none of my business. I can and will walk away if I see something I personally dislike for whatever reason. It doesn't mean they're wrong, it just means it's not for me (because it's none of my business). I was not put on this planet to waste my time and energy judging others, I have better stuff to do. To each their own, and that's a good life philosophy for me.
Q: What if it happens to your friend?
A: I have seen people using kink as a justification for harming others and I have dealt with it in whatever ways I deemed appropriate, but I don't stick around and I don't really want to engage, have a conversation or educate them so.. I can't really parent or save everyone from the evil folks using "kink", the help I can offer is also very limited. This is not something a person can do by themselves. The best advice I can give is for people to be informed and take steps to protect themselves when they see it happening. You won't always have support so that's extremely important.
Q: So you're victim-blaming now?
A: Huh? I think people being able to spot when something is harmful/toxic/etc when dealing with other people is a good thing. I think them being to take steps to keep themselves safe is also a good thing. It's one of the reasons why exposure to kink, kink culture and kinksters is so important, so you'll know what it is and what it isn't.
Q: What about the perpetrators? Aren't you one of them? You sound like one of them...
A: Ah, I haven't heard that one before! Awesome, thanks! Again, this sounds like a "You" problem and a lot of projecting, doesn't it? I have found that people who are so quick to judge and are so harsh on others, because of whatever sense of justice and righteousness they're trying to abide to, tend to have a lot of "hidden desires" and insecurities that get triggered when they're faced with something like kink and the people who truly and shamelessly enjoy kink. Therapy can help with that, also... minding your own business.

well despite having 10 other tavs and two durges i still need to play, i ended up caving and completely making a new file/save for Vrisryn since their main campaign is just... corrupted as hell at this point lmao. it was funny at first with little glitches like the whole Astarion-confessing-to-being-a-vampire-on-the-first-long-rest thing (which works since Vrisryn def noticed he was a vampire right away anyways) and minor stuff like the companions just forgetting that they had a high approval rate together. but by the time i got to Act 3, it was like... painfully bugged, to the point of their entire romance with Halsin being skewed/glitched, and major parts of companion quests weren't executing properly. with the whole point of restarting it being to 1-to get a fresher grasp on their character/make more in-character choices and 2-to be able to play the epilogue properly without glitches, it felt like i had to restart again. (thank god i love them so much and would replay their run 1290823980482394 times)
that being said, i was able to fully take the time to flesh out their Act 1 clothing, stats, armor etc! and i realized i never made any real proper post or introduction for them before posting the first chapter of their backstory/fic, so... behold! the refreshed Vrisryn (or Vrysryn as they're named in my game to avoid save issues lmao)
i decided to go for a more civilian looking outfit since they would have been in Baldur's Gate, not the wilderness they considered home when abducted. they were traveling to bring research findings and samples from the Underdark to the Lodge of the Society of Brilliance on behalf of their circle, as well as to fulfil some personal curiosities and make a bit of coin by selling/trading herbs and tinctures in the city. routine stuff mostly, that landed them unfortunately in the illithids capture. and ofc i had to use the autumnal druid dye from astralsprout on nexusmods bc i mean. look at them. that dye was made for them. typically though, when traveling they would roam in druidic armor or their camp clothes, which consist of a long overcoat and simple garments:
in my canon/work, they also don't really take their headpiece off like... at all, not until like Act 2.5 at least and even then, it's only around Astarion, Karlach, Wyll and Shadowheart. it isn't until Act 3 when they've finally reached the Elfsong that they let their guard down fully about their Spellscar, and their headpiece is used to help cover it since it takes the shape of antlers and stems from around the same area that their headpiece lay. The Spellscar appears in a similar fashion to the spores that typically surround their person and effects during travel/battle, so as long as their headpiece is attached, it's rather difficult for anyone who isn't familiar with Spellscars to notice that that's what's going on with them when it appears.
also the foreshadowing of this shot given the weird temporary triangle of angst they fall into with Gale and Astarion cracks me up but we'll get to that in many future fic chapters lmao
anyways this was really just for me to be able to dump some pics and keep a timeline of stuff as it develops in this playthrough. i'll do a more proper introduction post later and i'm gonna try to remember to reblog this whenever i get around to finishing my own character sheet of them in my style so i can show the differences between how they appear in bg3/how i see them and how they actually appear! stuff like them having top surgery, their Spellscar/it's effects, and other little details that bg3 simply can't convey. even if it's just for my own sake i'm excited to share more about their character on here :3 it's crazy to me how they started as simply an over-glorified self insert and then within 10 hours developed into a whole different, realized character with a HUGE backstory. that bg3-inspiration pipeline goes crazy when you're on hiatus in your own dnd campaign i suppose lol (also gonna try to post my next chapter of spores & stars later next week! just gotta push through finals and the end of this semester, then i plan on letting the oc brainworms consume me during the entirety of my break before summer classes begin oTL)

Clearing the Air: An In-Depth Guide to Dust Collection System
Dealing with environmental and health regulations in industrial business not only command but also become the building block of truly sustainable and adequate production. From the wide range of issues that arise in the course of its operations, the dust problem is however singled out, not only as a universal by-product, but also as a critical parameter for and safety, health, and efficiency of operation. This exploratory paper would be thorough and estimable and it would include the detailed writing about the dust collection systems about the nonspecific questions of their role, types, mechanism and technique of their optimal implementation and would give the answers to all the nonspecific questions about the role, types, mechanism and technique of the dust collection systems optimal implementation.
The Nutshell of Airborne Dust Removal
At its basis, consignment isn't only about clearance but also about more. It is indispensable in machine operations within the domains of woodworking, metalworking, medicine, and food. Proper dust collection systems help in the prevention of health risks, provide better air quality, ensure machine functions smoothly, and contribute to energy conserving and thus vividly portray the central role of them in the industrial system.
The Absolute the Need to Deal with Air Pollution
For instance, in confined space and op the risk of respiratory problems, skin conditions, even explosive risks in environments with combustible dust clearly indicate the necessity of feasible dust management. Consequently, the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the United States) dedicates to these focusing on the strict standards not only the workforce but the environment to be protected from the intensity of the job.
Understanding Dust Collection Systems
Dust collection systems can be categorized broadly into two types based on their cleaning methods and operational principles: the different categories are localized (or source capture) facilities and centralized ones. All systems apply different strategies for addressing the PM particle problem according to individual companies’ industrial needs and local scenario.
Localized Dust Collection Systems
These systems are the ones that are conceptualized to capture dust right where it is so that dust does not make it to the air and we end up with the air particles. Shown as a part of our roastery operation are collection tanks and fume arms that exist at the point of dust source. Localized systems turn out to be extremely suitable for the use cases where dust and bush may be created by one type of emission source or another.
Centralized Dust Collection Systems
Thus, in theory, centralized systems are more efficient because they handle dust accumulate from various production areas within a facility using a set of ducts to transport airborne particulate to a sole collection unit instead of individual systems for each production area. This approach is therefore suitable for facilities having shooting ranges or making processes that created dust of heterogeneous type.
The main parts of the Dust Collection System can be summarized in a few points.
A dust collection system comprises several key components, each playing a pivotal role in its operation:
Capture Hoods: Innovated to embrace or set up near the dust generation point with the avenue to capture the fleeting dust before it spreads.
Ductwork: A pipeline system for moving the dust that was captured to the accumulation area. With the help of online coding resources, it has become easier than ever to gain valuable programming skills and advance in your career.
Dust Collector: The inherent component of this system is where dust is separated and held.
Discharge System: The dust bag is designed for the disposal of dirt or recycling of the dregs.
Air Cleaners: Installed within the system to be responsible for the air purification, pulling out particles of dust before emitting the air into the environment.
Precisely in this one, I'll be heading towards the issue of Dust Collection Technologies.
A dust collection system is as good (or bad) as the capacity of its filter to separate out the material particles in the air. The following technologies are commonly employed:
Baghouse Collectors Baghouse collectors work the same way with bags made out of fabrics which are used to capture and filter off dust from air. They are applicable in dust removal applications with high throughput. They can also cope with a wide range of particles in addition to their different sizes and types. Maintenance is a routine activity that may require replacement of the bag.
Cartridge Collectors It should be noted that dust collection from air has cylindrical cartridges as the media, thus guaranteeing the best compact and efficient operation for efficient dust collection. They are notably effective in capturing the thin dust mainly while the operation is easier and has no additional equipment, such as baghouse filters. Therefore, it makes their replacement simpler than the latter.
Cyclone Collectors Cyclone collectors use the combination of hot and cold air currents to separate dust particles from the air. Polluted dusty air goes inside the cyclone and is pointed very swiftly. As the speed is there, pieces of dust are thrown towards walls of the collector, after which they fall in hopper. These systems operate quite well on a broad scale, being used as pre-filter units for the more complex dust removal chambers.
Electrostatic Precipitators Electrostatic precipitators get particles to be positively or negatively charged as they pass through the electrostatic field so that they are attracted to one of the collector plates. This engineering is very useful for very small sized dusts and is frequently detected in the power plant and factory dealing with smoke and grime.
Wet Scrubbers In the wet scrubber devices, airborne contaminants come into contact with a specially designed, overwater solution that captures and neutralizes dust particles. Being a highly efficient procedure, it can neutralize and contain combustive, toxic, or otherwise dangerous types of dust successfully while scaling a wide array of contaminants.
Staying with the correct Dust Collection system (DCS) is a matter of making the right choice. Choosing the most suitable dust collection system involves a thorough analysis of several factors:
Nature of the Dust: The crucial step of dusting your workplace consists of both physical and chemical properties of dust. Particle size, shape and toxicity are among the factors that determine the approach to be created for the selected system.
Volume and Rate of Dust Production: The amount of pulverized position and the rate at which it is made will determine system capacity and power requirements.
Regulatory Requirements: Procedures and rules issued by the local authorities and federal government concerning the environment and staff security and health requirements compose indisputable obligations.
Space Constraints: The number of dust collection systems possible to be put into decided spaces may imitate the viable choices, which implies the necessity of seeking compact solutions at small-sized facilities.
Maintenance and Operational Costs: Factors like operating costs, including maintenance and energy consumption, should be taken into account in order to make a viable choice.
Keeping Dust Collection System Efficient through the Application of Best Practices The key of the continued life cycles of this system and its efficiency is the routine maintenance of your dust collection system. This includes:
Regular Inspections: Regular inspection of the ductwork, duct-tapes in cases of a leak or wear and damages in the components.
Filter Maintenance: Changing or deactivates based on the schedule of the manufacturer's or sometimes by drop pressure reading.
Airflow Monitoring: Making sure airflow is reasonably even with the requirements of operational suitability and to avoid any system struggle.
Dust Disposal: The safe and timely disposal of all the collected dust, while paying a special attention to the combustible or hazardous parts.
The Clear Advantage: Embracing Effective Dust Collection
In conclusion, a good intended and efficiently maintained dust collection system is not only out of regulation but a strategy for operation profitability of workers health, and environmental protection. Knowing the types of systems and technologies suited for a specific industry provides industries with helpful insight to design the right decisions that solve their own problems. With industrial sustainability more and more emphasized in the next era of operations, dust collection performs an important task in guaranteeing safety, comfort, and industrial production efficiency. Clearing the air is, after all, about creating a better environment, both within our workplaces and in the world at large.

Andamooka is so interesting. Even by Outback standards it's incredibly arid, recieving just 16cm of rain a year. The climate is also extreme even by Outback standards, with temperatures often jumping above 40 in the day and nearly 0 at night. Many of the older houses were built underground to avoid the sun as much as possible. Like many Outback towns, it's serviced by the Royal Flying Doctor Service, essentially mobile hospitals flown in on planes. There are literally no sources of fresh water in the town itself, all water is brought in via truck or pipeline.
It kinda irks me that people always think of the Outback when they think of Australia, since 9/10 of our population lives in cities and even a lot of the rural population isn't in the "Outback" proper, but God, I can see why it's captured the public imagination. It's like living on Mars or something.

Sigils of Modern Desire || Accepting The sip of coffee Beth takes bypasses her oesophagus entirely, and instead makes a wild break into her trachea. She chokes on it, not prepared to breath liquid. And the ensuing cough shakes her from head to toe, turns her face a dark and ugly sort of mottled red. She has enough presence of mind to hold up a finger toward Layla. A few moments of gasping and sputtering later and she's panting but approaching a more even keel. The cup ~not a drop of it spilled, it's the Navy genes, she'd say~ gets set down to a safer spot, and she presses her palm to her chest in order to both steady herself and use just a touch of Life to ensure everything is in proper working order. "I'm-I'm---" She doesn't get much further than that as she squeezes her eyes shut. It's a difficult thing to do, though no one really notices it for the most part. Another moment or two that isn't merely buying time so she doesn't have to answer her friend. "I mean, like.. f' watch? I guess it depends on my mood, or wha' I'm lookin' a' it for, but...like." Some things are so very hard to explain. Most of her interest in certain kind of media is almost purely academic. She wants to know what other people talk about, what they mean about certain reactions. She wanted, once, to know if any of it did anything for her.
"Dere's a certain stickiness about it dat I don't t'ink I would care for, you know?" Parts that fit together. Others that don't. What she discovered is that she has no connection to the actors if she's being generous. "I t'ink aest'etically speakin' oral doesn't look quite as...as..." She shrugs one shoulder. "Necessary biological function. I get dat. I get dat people say it rocks dere world, but I don' know how it's mo' beddah dan really good music, or surfin' some incredible barrels, 'specially on da Pipeline. And...and I'm not sure I know how f' do it right, if an' wen I do...get around to it. Harder part is finding someone I might wanna ...wanna try wi'd, you know?" She looks like she's waiting for the earth to swallow her, or that someone shoved a bug in her mouth. "Wha' about you? Have you had one kine beddah dan da oddah? Is it as gross as it look?"

Know the Process of Revenue Marketing Services by Applying Strategy
What if you know that, since marketing has evolved, it now contains another component, revenue marketing services, focusing only on how your company might produce more revenue? Yes, this is the name given to this sort of marketing.
Revenue marketing is a marketing that uses numerous online channels to increase significantly customer acquisition and sales. Such revenue-driven marketing has only been introduced to increase your company's revenue.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF REVENUE MARKETING?
Now that you understand revenue marketing, the next thing that comes to mind is: How does it really work?
Most marketers generally use revenue marketing services to raise their revenue targets by defining a specific income they hope to reach in a particular time frame. For this, they devise a marketing plan that focuses solely on how their firms may produce income. For their strategy to be implemented successfully, they must first identify all the various channels that will market their business and ensure customer acquisitions and higher revenues.
How Is Revenue Marketing Improved?
Key areas have been improved to provide superior insight:
MARKETING AND SALES ALIGNMENT
Marketing from revenue marketing services can send as many leads as can to sales, but it will be fine if sales believe they're garbage.
Obtaining sufficient buy-in from different levels of the business - from sales to executives, customer service to IT - is essential if marketing's efforts are to be most effectively translated into income.
The first thing you likely thought was, "Yeah, but...". This is frequently the most significant impediment to growth (yes, even today). Begin optimising pipeline procedures, and you'll be astounded by the results.
LINKING GOALS TO REVENUE, NOT LEADS
The bulk of revenue marketing services have quarterly or annual bonuses, and performance is based on the number of leads generated. A revenue marketer understands that the measure is meaningless on its own.
Revenue or digital marketing should feel comfortable signing up for a precise revenue number related to closed-won sales opportunities with the correct alignment inside the organisation or business unit.
STRATEGY FOR REVENUE MARKETING
Knowing about outsourced chief marketing officer, revenue marketing isn't enough if you want your company to grow using this strategy. If you want to see good outcomes, you must develop and apply a proper plan for revenue marketing services.
Set Smart Goals: You must set goals that are specific, quantifiable, reachable, relevant, and time-bound. You must set revenue targets if you want your approach to perform well. Maintain clear and detailed goals to attain them realistically.
Analyze your website and current ROI: If you want your new marketing approach to be successful, you must audit your website and ROI using analytic tools. You must continue to measure your plan by examining it across the channels you use.
Conduct Thorough Research: To develop smart and achievable goals that can be translated into concrete steps, you must conduct extensive research. You can use pre-existing data to design your web marketing plan, but you must stay current with new trends.
