I actually really like the motifs on these ! it was initially inspired by The Last of Us (one of the greatest games of all time), but I think it works for other contexts too.

If astarion’s somewhat based on a cat, I would like to contend the possibility of vampire zoomies. Like, something moved a little too fast in his peripheral vision so now every instinct is screaming at him to go hunt it down so he’s dashing around just outside the camp, and Karlach just shrugs and joins him because she needs to go on a run anyway.

Also, since cat toys are meant to emulate their prey for incorporating a hunting experience in a domestic setting… is that why he has a training dummy outside of his tent? Does he ever get a burst of vampiric energy and stab at it 17 times before tackling it teeth-first?

Don't be afraid. to make. astarion. cringy. in fics.

He is a dork. He is a silly little freak who grants you 5+ approval if you let yourself be whipped by a priest. Also 5+ if you let him open the barn door. He hasn't had an extended conversation with a normal person in several years. He will ask completely unhinged questions and make puns. The smooth facade literally falls apart the instant he feels safe with someone.

Even when he doesn't feel safe, he believes that his pick up lines are great.
