I really don't think ppl understand because I talk about this with one of my friends (he has been in several cringe relationships over the years I have known him because we've been through TRENCHES together) all the time. This is Nico's first REQUITED romance. It is his first time being in a relationship and he has ZERO clue what he is doing. All he really knows is pain, wars, suffering, loss, etc. While I admit TSATS wasn't great. There were certain scenes that were definitely out of character or off, but a MAJORITY of it was Nico not being TRAUMATIZED. He was in a place where he could HEAL. And, he's 14-15, the age of a FRESHMAN IN HIGH SCHOOL (for those in the United States), it is going to be awkward and cringe-worthy, but if you think at 14/15 your relationships weren't, you are most definitely wrong. None of us had any idea what we were really doing dating at that point in our lives. Now, onto William Andrew Solace, because I know there will be people who will argue that it could possibly not be his first relationship as he is canonically bisexual and we have 0 clue how he discovered his sexuality. (Thanks Rick...) IF, and that's a big if, he dated ANYONE before Nico, once again take his age into account and WHEN he could have possibly done so. At age 12/13, he took over as head counsler of the Apollo Cabin after the deaths of quite literally 98% of the siblings he had. Regardless of how many you think there were, he was left with TWO siblings where they were previously the second largest cabin. Right after Manhattan, the NEXT quest happens. While yes, it IS theoretically possible he had a relationship in the timespan before the attack on CHB, he was 15!!!! I can assure you, if he was dating then, there isn't a high chance he was focused on the person he was with everything considered. Without my own personal headcanons (because I do have quite a bit, but they are certainly biased). canonically he reaches out to Nico in the war to touch his vitals. He's a medic, it's what he does. Will NEVER gives up on Nico, and pushes him to recovery. While we, unfortunately, do not get to see how they fell in love, we can tell that Will is navigating this relationship just as carefully. He doesn't want to hurt Nico, instead wanting to understand him. Will is a dorky teenager, so is Nico. They also match each other's energy. Will is CANONICALLY interested in true crime. Will isn't perfect though, and he struggles in understanding just like any other human being.

If you think Will and Nico are rlly cringe in tsats then you've clearly never been in a long term teenage relationship. Yes it might be cringe to read but if you're in a relationship it's rlly not

Fic Snippet - Megatronus Prime/Megatron

I'm so obsessed and I need you to be too, so here's a snippet for something in the works, a multichapter Megatronus Prime/Megatron fic, working title 'Solid as Sand, Real as Dreams'.

“You seem to have forgotten just from whom you have taken, little mech.” Megatronus hums, voice drifting along the strands of light and sand as they dance through the air. They begin to spread across him, patchwork at first as they form his towering body and fill in missing detail, and all the while Megatron crumbles until he can be lessened no further. “Your first cog stolen, destroyed by a traitor who’s death was much deserved and savoured.” Purple plating shifts into place, slowly solidifying as silken words drip from the forming mask. “Your second a gift freely given, tossed aside when a greater prize came within reach. I wonder what Alchemist would have made of such arrogance.” Black servos twist into existence, trailing through sands like fingers dipped into liquid energon. “And now your third, already stolen once before, taken as a war prize.” The gilding settles into place on scratched purple plating, war scarred and glorious as divinity towers over the cogless miner helpless before him. “And yet again we come to your great weakness. With your grasping hands and your arrogance, you forgot to ask; where does your power come from?”

I only watched like two thirds of Oppenheimer and like it's a beautiful movie and well made and well acted and well directed but also. I DNF'ed it. like it's a technical marvel but it isn't like. interesting enough? like it isn't as amazingly good as I expected after hearing people talk so much about it. lowkey wonder if reviewers aren't a little bit blinded by the star studded cast

1 like in the quixote example a character can still foil another without them being opposite types

2 most people don't care about mbti and that's ok and writers shouldn't be forced to learn it bc of that

3 you shouldn't change the nature of a character just to force them to oppose another character's type bc mbti is not to force people into boxes :)

had a very funny experience where someone rb'd a vaguely ship flavored post of mine with smth like "i love a good bromance" and because i get unjustifiably defensive every time someone uses that term (and also bc i like doing this sometimes) i went to their blog to like snoop around a bit and below a couple of posts of calling them bromanced up in the tags there's fanart of them kissing with tongue and i had to pause bc like. shit my bad there cowboy you're not in homophobic denial you do just genuinely love a good bromance

If I had the motivation and skillset for it I'd make an entire video essay about how the FNF modding scene has changed -- and not about scringus and dingus or the various dramas they've gotten into over the years, but legitimately how the scene has changed from so much creatively and love for the base game cast and people's original characters to creepypasta characters being recycled over and over and the actual canonical characters being downright ignored unless it's the now rare and far more considerably niche remix mod or the one in a million original mod

alright, since the Remedy brainworms got me I've been replaying Control, got to the AWE expansion last night and picking up on all the echoes/foreshadowing for Alan Wake 2 is making me go utterly bonkers, but like. has anyone picked up on or talked about how in all of Alan's Hotline messages to Jesse, when he's writing about her POV, he exclusively calls her 'Faden'

like, maybe it didn't poke my brain the first time I played it since he does the same thing when talking about Hartman, but coming from AW2 it's pretty jarring as a stylistic oddity...almost like there's a reason (in-universe and/or out-of-universe) that he doesn't call her 'Jesse'...almost like there's only one Faden in his story...

and given how in AW2 we also get some (quasi-) clarification regarding the limits of Alan's ability to "make stuff up" vs alter and rewrite "real-world" events that he sees in clairvoyant flashes...given the Night Springs screenplay pages you can find in AWE that parallels the FBC and the events of Control (i.e. a Director and a Scientist opening a portal to another dimension, finding an eldritch Entity, the Director trying to take its power for himself and then getting taken over before shooting himself)...given how literally all of the "dreams" Dylan tells Jesse about are descriptions/viewings of stuff that takes place on one level of reality or another ("I was the director and you were an intern"; "we were in a game, and it was a fucking boring game but you couldn't stop playing it"; Mister Door, and "a world with a writer writing about a cop, and another world where the writer was real"; a "musical" about Jesse), except, seemingly, the dream about "Jesse Dylan Faden"...

I love the vocal nuance in this exchange, but also posting this for my differences posts because this is one of the changes that infuriates me the most. Yuri didn't threaten Ioder, did not threaten him with a weapon, and just said he'd punch him in a lazy, half joking voice (half joking as in, he really doesn't want to hear that - that's just his way of saying so; but that's not the voice of someone who is super angry and threatening).

My other huge grievance is that this is a recurring issue between them in the dub. Yuri is pretty much always vocally rude to Ioder. Ioder has done nothing to wrong him or anyone and has only ever done good for the people where he's able to.

Yet despite Ioder being nothing but sincere, honest and polite with Yuri, in fact even happy to see him here and there, dub Yuri is outright tonally rude to him leading right up this scene where he threatens Ioder in this dark voice. Meanwhile he's actually just supposed to be… lazily telling Ioder he'll punch him in his Yuri Lowell way of saying "I don't want to hear that".

The dub really just wanted to turn Yuri into this dark edgelord and I hate that for my goofy, silly boy.
