ok I have to type this out while it's still fresh in my mind bc I was just rewatching the Beetlejuice 2 wedding scene but I remember coming back from the film I was talking with my husband about Lydia's line regarding Rory and his proposal/imminent wedding, "he loves me, that has to be enough" and me asking him (husband) 'WELL WHY WASN'T THAT ENOUGH FOR BEEJ? HE'S OBVIOUSLY IN LOVE WITH HER' but then I'm noticing again in the wedding/dance scene when Beej is singing about 'all the loves of his life' Lydia's face visibly changes from one of reluctant disgust to surprise/shock, this is her first indication that maybe he feels something more for her than demonic lust or a means to an end as she always assumed, she really wasn't expecting any of this or the weight of his actual affection for her, which says so much about Lydia's sense of personal worth as it does the amount Beej has come to love her for who she is from afar and we really need more time to explore that imo !!!
