why is this me just now finding out that bashbabe on ao3 has tumblr? (I have no idea how to work tumblr besides looking up my favorite ships/interest and liking every post about it). I live—LIVE for your fics. I’m on the mighty ducks tag kicking my feet and twirling my hair to see if any new bashslash fics by bashbabe have been posted or if ‘tis the damn season has a new chapter (me patiently waiting for a new chapter after reading the first two chapters a million times because nobody under the might ducks tag wants to write about Adam/Fulton and like why not? They work so well? Like slightly awkward slightly boy failure tough guy hockey player who hasn’t really explored how well of a player he is outside of his codependent relationships because his character was never truly explored and his existence beyond being a defenseman/bash brother/mysterious kid who throws bullies into trash bags was never really established (Fulton) and a extremely talented hockey player who’s socially awkward as well and very reserved whose spent his entire life working under the pressure and expectations, to be great and to be the best player, who’s been dealt cards multiple times that haven’t been in his favor, when all he wants to do is just play hockey with the Ducks (Adam). I need more of them please AO3 Mighty Ducks writers! I beg to the mighty ducks gods🧎‍♀️!) sorry I definitely like rambled a bit there but I just want to thank you for doing gods work and feeding my bashslash and Adam/fulton (fultadam?) addiction because I have been deprived of them— for too long!! (Like sure I get it Adam/Charlie are great and all (I only read them because I’m deprived) but like…. ✨rairpairs✨. Like come on!! The rairpairs exist too).

i also love that you brought up the lack of rarepairs in the tmd fandom! @gaffney and i were actually just talking about the lack of content for rarepairs and then the lack of engagement for existing content for rarepairs! i totally agree, charlie/adam is great but it's so nice and refreshing to see other pairings in fic!

i'm so glad you enjoy my writing, and i promise i'm working on more! this ask will definitely be a huge motivation for me going forward, so i really appreciate it :] and i hope this motivates other people to write fic for bashslash/any other rarepair too! it's definitely something people want, and i'd love to see a mighty ducks renaissance of sorts, where everyone is making content for every character and every pairing. thank you so so so much again!!!!

Do you ever think about how almost all of N’s Pokémon throughout the first games were one offs he released after he battled you, how he cared about them all deeply enough that he thought it would be selfish to have them battle more than necessary. And do you ever think about how this is the case with all his Pokémon EXCEPT his Klinklang in the final battle at the league, where the second to last battle he had a Klink and this Klinklang is very likely that same Pokémon? Do you think this was a visual representation of his mindset wavering from a fixed point? How that Klink refused to leave him right away and he couldn’t bring himself to force them to leave because his mind is in so many different directions? He can keep them around just a little longer until he becomes champion, it won’t be long, he can bend things some so long as he doesn’t fully stray from his path…right?

The fact the Drifter doesn't even feel like they belong in the Origin System is honestly painful. The fact they feel like everyone likes the Operator more because it's originally their timeline, and they've just grown to already accept that. The fact they feel actually at home in the fucking year of 1999.

The fact they feel like they were essentially being used when being sent back to 1999, but they end up staying and feeling more at home in the year despite being sent there like an errand boy. Feeling at home in a place you've barely been in for too long compared to everywhere else you've been for the rest of your life? That must feel wild, y'know? And exciting, but also terrifying.

They just have never felt like they belonged anywhere, basically, but when being sent off on a mission by the Lotus they end up actually feeling like the place they ended up felt like home. People finally care about them, and even love them. Friendships were formed and maybe even a true and genuine heartfelt relationship. Sure, they're still surrounded by daily threats like the Scaldra and Techrot, but there's people who actively care about their well-being now.

Imagine it, no longer actually being alone for most of your life? Having people who worry about you, for the first time in who knows how many years? Getting genuine human (as 'human' as the protoframes get) interaction instead of being called around to do jobs? To simply just exist in such a place? It must feel like a huge breath of fresh air

It's so human and it's so real. You finally begin to heal from the trauma that's been a part of essentially most- if not all your life before arriving. It's such a stark contrast to how things are in the Origin System. I wouldn't want to leave either.

uh uh hi signalis fandom??? i bring you... a storch and kolibri pairing...

my sweethearts <3 some infodumping about them below:

they are both stationed in a correctional facility on Rotfront. Maus is the commanding officer of the base (aside from the Falke and Adler units of course) and Rin acts as her right-hand woman pretty much. Maus denies it but Rin definitely gets some special treatment and/or exceptions which does piss off the other Storchs but uh we don't have to worry about that right now :3 as the blurbs next to them state, they each have their own manufacturing issues but one is certainly a lot more severe than the other... ill start with Rin: Her heating system is defective, as in it doesn't work at all. Especially unhelpful considering they're on Rotfront, yknow, the ice moon?? She still manages to keep her productivity at an all-time high though, despite her defect. On more than one occaision, she's gotten a warning from Adler about her water usage, since she takes so many boiling hot showers to warm up... Being a Storch she's unsurprisingly quite short-tempered and has noticable violent tendancies that probably could be better reigned in but Maus is into it so Rin gets a pass to be mean. "Interrogations" with Gestalts involving Rin as the punisher more often than not end in a bloodbath. And Rin snagging a couple of new shiny trinkets to keep for herself or share between her and Rin (maybe the other Protektor units if she's feeling generous.) She tends to get quite protective over Maus, and when the two can find a quiet moment alone together, Rin has a bit of a soft spot for her little rodent <3 now, Maus: Her Bioresenance module is defective, as in Maus can't really "regulate" the intensity of it properly. Its way too strong for any normal Kolibri unit, let alone an entire group of them at once, so Maus has intentionally cut herself off from the hive-mind in an effort to protect her fellow hummingbirds. She still works with them and communicates with them of course, she just refuses to do it through bioresenance. Does this mean more paperwork? Yes... but she thinks the tradeoff is worth it. It does have its downsides though. Without the safety net the hivemind provides to her persona, Maus has already begun to degrade in irreversable ways (no matter how many pots of tea she downs or books she finishes a day) Despite this she remains dedicated and loyal to her work, if not for herself then so she doesn't everyone else around her down. (also, after some vauge threats of decomission from Adler, she's only thrown herself further into her work to try and convince him she doesn't need replacing. Maus isn't scared of many things, but if theres one thing she's terrified of, its death.) She suffers a lot from migranes and nosebleeds a lot as a side effect of her faulty bioresenance module, and has landed herself in the facility's medical ward too many times to count because of it. the Eule nurses have even dedicated an entire room solely to Maus due to how often she's in there for Something, be it a headache, or fainting entirely while on the job. If it weren't for Falke, Adler would have had her decomissioned many cycles ago. Falke however trusts her charm of hummingbirds implicitly and keeps a close eye on Maus especially, making sure she doesn't stray too far off the deep end. Maus also has violent tendancies of her own, and works well with Rin because of it. Rin interrogating Gestalts is bad enough, but Rin AND Maus together? yeah that Gestalt isn't coming out of that room alive. or in one piece for that matter.. Maus and Rin sorta bounce off eachother in ways that i don't think are entirely healthy but hey, they're happy, so who am i to get in the way of two lesbian robot's toxic bloodbath yuri :3
