I really love this scene. It's the first time we really ever see how genuinely gentle he can be, and how much he does care for the children. The way he hugs Prushka here, and name her always gets me. He believes in full she is special from this moment, and is going to nurture this potential.

It's aspects like this that really add to his character. He's a man who can show incredible cruelty with no mercy. But he is also capable of being kind and loving. The part that always gets me and makes me love him is that it's all real despite what the end result is.

When he speaks about the children to Reg, he is proud of them. Fondly remembering what they were meant to be. This is is especially important because all cartridges look the same. Bondrewd remembers which kid is which even in that form. That what is happening isn't wasteful sacrifices to him. He respects them, he remembers them, because they are the children he loved dearly.

Love is really a curse and a blessing when it comes to this man.

anyway to the 1st image 1) dirk and john are narrative foils(that's a fact) and the anon just literally hates john so much.

2) most dirkjohn shippers i know want nothing to do with dirkjake and we know it's an entirely different ship as shown in the comic.

(they can say dirk and john only had one interaction all they want, but dirk and jake was shown to fail and never had an actual on screen conversation in the comic...)(how do people not know about this.)

3) why the fuck is misogyny part two nonexistent fictional characters being shipped together for fun.
