Welp it turns out the new updates do fuck up how you can interact with images. I have been putting off updating for a while now, but I was finally forced to (luckily, so far only on my phone — it wouldn’t display certain posts). When I checked a few photo and gif posts, guess what? You can still zoom in BUT only so far. In other words, if you need to zoom in any further then presumably you have to save the image and open it separately to do so. How convenient 🙃 And to make it worse, you can’t even zoom in on photos at all on desktop anymore!!! So I have no options.

What I can’t understand is why??? @staff this is making the app much less usable for people with visual issues and for no easily apparent reason.

Actually crazy how quickly people came out of the woodworks to baselessly accuse Palestinian bloggers (some of whom have literally experienced genocide firsthand) of “running scam rings,” but the wilder thing to me is how gleeful about it they are…….
