Why? When I was in school, they gave us some short shitty explanation about pilgrims and natives aiding eachother and whatever but that's fake. We know that's fake, right? We know that colonizers took over the natives' land? I haven't even studied that and I know Thanksgiving is a bunch of bullshit?? Why do people still celebrate this? Because I'm Spanish and yes we did colonize, rape, kill and etc in South/Central America, but we're aware of the fact and we don't celebrate dumb shit like this ? Idk I don't get it. Like everything else, it's complicated.

Traditionally, Leon put out a tweet saying "happy Valentines" and dedicated himself to training his mons in order to hide from the raileon truthers. He already made the mistake of agreeing to some sponsorship deals for Christmas, so he is constantly dodging the sponsors for any other holidays. According to the public, he basically disappears for Valentines Day.

Leon is also a hopeless romantic. His Animal Crossing island is Valentine's Day themed. He dreams of being swept off his feet and being taken on a romantic date. He wants to be wooed, but also wants it to be a surprise, an expression of pure love.

Obviously, Valentine's Day is not a holiday in Orre and Wes has no idea what that is.

Shenanigans ensue when Raihan of all people pull Wes aside and give him a crash course of romance and Valentine's day the day before. Determined to give his boyfriend a good Valentine's day despite the time crunch, he managed to scramble together a nice romantic picnic date with some gifts.

Yes the gifts were sparkly rocks and the picnic was a collection of berries, but Leon loved it.

After that first year, the subsequent dates become a lot more relaxed. Leon usually brings the food, or they cook food at the date, while Wes is the one who sets up the picnic and makes it look pretty. They would snuggle, and go beyond snuggling, but the most important part of that day was that it was just the two of them, alone. Even their Pokemon are put in their balls.

Even after their relationship is revealed to the public, it becomes tradition for them to find some pretty nook in the Wild Area and have a picnic date. Team Yell is recruited to distract and block the press.
