“Is there… someone I can get for you?” Sisko asked hesitantly. Julian didn’t blame him; he was one mess that the commander had most certainly not signed up to deal with.

But when he didn’t respond, Sisko didn’t leave, not even to find a nurse or someone else better equipped to cope with an overwrought doctor. Instead, he asked gently, “May I touch you?”

Julian nodded jerkily, and Sisko began to run his hand lightly up and down Julian’s arm. It was a comforting motion, but when Julian leant into it, the commander stopped.

“May I hug you?” he asked, to which Julian nodded again, and soon he was wrapped in a firm embrace. It was awkward, because they were both still standing up, and Julian was still crying, and Sisko was still his commanding officer – but it was also the best that Julian had felt all day. Everything sort of melted to the back of his mind, and it was far better than the simple safety the infirmary had offered: with Sisko’s arms around him, he felt protected.

#wip #I finished the panels and speech bubbles so I’m taking a break to get an ice cream sandwich then coming back to do lineart #Honestly the worst thing about making these comics is that I can’t depict some of the stuff I really want to depict #Bc decent storytelling requires restraint #But I think a lot about everything and so I put an unnecessary amount of thought into this shit that I can’t reasonably add to the comic #Without making it feel out of character or just sorta tonally weird (admittedly I feel like I stretch it too thin as it is)#The reason I do these besides just bc I like making them and it’s fun is bc I am fascinated with Chilchuck as a character #And I have a very specific idea of his life based on the crumbs Ryoko Kui leaves us #Which I wanna. Like. Force other ppl to witness I guess 😭#But character exploration without any proper storytelling to frame it is boring to me #like I might as well just write it all out in an essay at that point #Anyways all that to say that I am annoyed that my comic about what Chilchuck saw when he said he saw his dad on the other side #Doesn’t leave room for me to show that I think his dads death indirectly led to Meijack being born and clarify why and how I think that hap #And that the whole sequence of events there is too long and unrelated to reasonably fit into those little extras I do sometimes

I’ve got news for you.#(this gal was an english and lit class suck up. the symbolism never stops.)#admittedly it’s a bit heavy handed and on the nose. alas. but the designs just hit better that way!#the raglan shaping is meant to replicate an EKG with heartbeats. the notion of wearing your heart on your sleeve…and the song being about #a rabbit hearted girl. hence. rabbits and hearts on the cuffs.#the most vulnerable part of these lyrics (i wish that i could just be brave) on the most vulnerable part of the sweater (the back)#(because anyone can see it but you don’t realize who’s looking and reading your deepest desires)#anyways. I wanted to knit a lot of words in different fonts and sizes and I listened to florence on repeat and this happened.

Like I've said before. General Trans Scott enthusiast here- I love the idea of their little support network *violent coughing* I (we?) mean polycule *violent coughing* so fucking much.

Ramona I think has a bit of a more gentle hand with reassuring Scott with gender issues, but sometimes she just can't help herself from some pointed banter or teasing- how could you with someone so dense? (Said w affection)

And then Kim I think is more blunt. But like, in a good way mostly, you know? The kinda blunt that makes you snap to attention and go "Oh. Yeah that was silly of me." And if Ramona's started some sort of banter? Kim is SO piling on. Maybe sometimes she's a bit TOO blunt with it- but it's only because she's so firm in her support. She wants Scott to Get It Together- and be happier for it. So if some ribbing now and again is in order, then goddamnit she will do so! Anything to crack that shell.

And ohhh can you imagine how they would react to some transphobic bullshit?? Unholy terror would be driven into the offender before they walk off with an absurd amount of coins between them. I can feel it in my bones. Scott doesn't even have to lift a finger (if the transphobe is even noticed/processed at all, bc I honestly can see Scott just. Not realizing someone's being transphobic.) Kim giving someone a lashing with her tongue as distraction and then Ramona coming in with the hammer- BAM! Free Money! Paying literally with your life for your transphobia. A Better And Just World.

And of course (transfem Scott more specifically, here,) the way Scott would start to flourish under their support... cagey and maybe a little (perhaps a lot-) resistant to start- but Kim's blunt affirmations and no nonsense attitude for bullshit (which is what Scott insisting on "being cis" would be, c'mon now,) and Ramona's also low bullshit tolerance but less Stabby (bc I won't lie, that's probably how Kim's comments would feel,) assurances? Ough... My Heart... Be Still-

working on multiple x reader fics that are all in various plot stages is so confusing because it’s like “they just met. they’re not going to see each other for fifteen years. they’re hooking up. they’re about to kill each other. they’re about to fake each other’s deaths. why haven’t they kissed yet. why haven’t they admitted they like each other. what are they going to do about that zombie bite. did they just break up? they just met again.”

I miss the barduil days when I was only working on one story at a time.

here’s a lil snippet from my Napoleon POV of the end of Little By Little ch2 by @cha-melodius

“I don’t know,” Illya shouts, and Napoleon hates how he flinches from the sound. Illya turns to face him, as harsh and sudden as his words, and without even thinking about it, Napoleon’s eyes snap to his hands. It’s almost second nature at this point, and while he knows Illya thinks he’s waiting for him to lose it, to snap, there’s nothing he wants more than to take Illya’s shaking hands in his. He aches for it, craves it in a way that’s too vulnerable, especially for him. He knows he doesn’t deserve to be the one to calm Illya down, that his desire to have him is as obscene as it is impossible, but he still wants him. He watches as Illya’s eyes follow his own to see the shaking in his hands. Illya looks almost shocked, like it was Napoleon who brought his attention to the shaking.

Concept: This was my first attempt at a chat fic ever, thus it was hardly a fic and mostly an experiment. I'd love to revisit the concept with a different ship/dynamic at some point because it was a lot of fun!!

Obligatory edit to add: the gratuitous use of exclamation points in the title was, in fact, a result of my having just discovered that chat fics were a thing and being comically excited to try it out myself hsgdjkh.

It's just another way to get to know your characters like it's a great vehicle for experimenting with their personality (would X character type formally or informally? would they use emojis or emoticons? proper punctuation or improper? abbreviations or spelled out? paragraphs or spam texts?). Plus, the formatting part tickles my brain :)
