Wait... looking back at ITSV how did Gwen and Peni explain their multiple day disappearance to their parents/guardians?
I think that after Peter died and Gwen's dad started obsessively blaming Spider-Women, the two of them started getting into some bad arguments cause they were both hurting and Gwen already felt guilty so having her dad unknowingly blame her as well probably worsened their relationship. So after they had fights, she would sometimes crash at a friend's house like one of the Mary Janes or if you wanna add comic elements, Harry Osborn. That's why her dad didn't find it all that strange when she disappeared
Ik the basic gist of what happened in Peni's comics so I headcannon that she doesn't have the best relationship with her uncle Ben and aunt may cause it seems like she was only SP//dr because she wss fed a bunch of stuff about it being her responsibilitity to do all this because she was only person with the same DNA as her dad and that was the only reason she became SP//dr as young as she did (she was nine). I think she had trouble making friends for a long while as well so maybe Addy, if you change up some comic elements, was her first since she was younger and she would sometimes do the same thing gwen did when she felt like everything was too much. That's why she was so ruined during ATSV because Addy, instead of just being a classmate and fellow pilot, was a friend she actually cared about.
And maybe sometimes Peni would chill with her universe's Daredevil
At this point, you probably get that I kinda dislike her May and Ben even if I don't know everything about their relationship becsuse I have yet to read her comics

How do you think the spider gang would react to Gwen coming out as trans? I think they'd all be supportive, but I'm curious if you have details
I am going to be honest with you anon, I had been looking at this question for weeks, thinking about it, and...I am not coming up with much.
I am trans, I don't have that much experience with people reacting to that- and I am not making any more comments about that.
Going back to the original question- I think all of them would be supportive; regardless of background or history, I feel doing anything else would be a disservice to the characters, and also, a type of story I really don't have interest entertaining, (Would Noir, being from 40s, be reasonable to have his apprehensions and need to overcome it? Yes, I am interested in seeing something like that? Personally, fuck no.)
Now, it doesn't mean there cannot be hiccups- all well intending, of course.
(Specific characters under the cut because, as always with me, it got long.)
Peter B I see going over the top; talking how brave Gwen is, and that he supports her no matter what, he also reads a book on trans people and tell hims about the people in his universe who are trans. Gwen appreciates it, but it can be uncomfortable at times.
Noir, regardless of time period, would be supportive, but mixes up terminology. The poor guy already struggles with the pop culture lingo, so throwing queer lingo into the mix can make things awkward; specially since, as a spider-man, he has defended the marginalized people of his dimension and is aware of the community, but- that community had its own terminology that may not be appreciated to day. Is a growing curve.
In my opinion, Ham is a much of a man as Bugs Bunny, meaning gender isn't as important as commitment to the bit; so I can see him busting a dress all of the sudden and saying "I get you sis." Accordingly, if asked about his own gender, he is pretty much "normally a guy, but in general whatever fits better with the scene."
Peni I headcanon as nonbinary, so I think she would be happy to meet another person who isn't cis. Definitely would have lots of talk about presentation, tricks for clothes a make up, the works.
Margo is cool about it, there isn't much to say there; she just tells Gwen that it doesn't change anything between them, and she is still invited to come for the slumber parties (Margo has thrown a bunch in the Spider-Society, because anything to spend as little time mentally at home as possible.)
Pavitr: "Oh so you are like a hijra? That's so cool!" (This is a term from a place I am not from, so I can't talk in length about it, feel free to look it up because it is indeed, very cool.) While not the same, he ends up telling more about how people in his dimension see transgender people, Gwen finds it overall really interesting.
Hobie is, of course, cool about it. He is a punk, noncomformist, and "hates labels," he could probably tell Gwen a stupid amount of things about queer history, intersectionally, so far and so forth. Despite using he/him pronouns, I believe with all my heart Hobie would not give a shit about gender roles and dress how he likes, and be okay with any pronouns. This has nothing to do with your question, but I headcanon that Hobie has been the queer awakening of many other teens of the Spider-Society as he strolls down in whatever outfit he feels like it.
Now Miles, is obviously supportive. I think he may be oblivious to many things (I headcanon him as bi for a long awhile, but I am not sure if that's something he knows already or has yet to discover,) so he asks questions, but is always respectful and has no trouble answering. Overall, Gwen thinks is cute how much Miles dotes on her, and reminding her that she will always be the prettiest girl alive to him.
Huh, I guess I had more to say that I expected, this was fun! Thanks for the question and sorry for the delay.

Any headcanons about peni and miles and Gwen.
A few!
I have a fondness for young characters who end up gaining a bunch of surrogate older siblings, so Peni now holds that honor as well!
I think the events that (further) traumatized Peni are the incident with Addy Brock and VE#m and the death of her Aunt May. The comic issue didn’t really have the time to dig into that, but I’d love if Spider-Verse changes it so that Addy and Peni get to be friends before the disaster with VE#m happens. And then after all that, it’d be like the end of that story where she’s talking with her Uncle Ben before Spider-Ham portals to her to invite her into the Society.
At some point she learns about Canon Events and is Devastated. Like, she really Couldn’t have saved her aunt and Addy even if she’d Tried? Her dad was Meant to Die?? She gets comfort from the older Spideys; but I think especially Gwen, who’s absolutely avoiding thinking about her own dad and what him being a Police Captain means. Once things have (hopefully) settled in Beyond, I like to imagine Miles also gaining the older sibling status.
Anyways, headcanons!!
- Peni Canonically Loves Music, even going so far as playing it while she fights crime, so her and Gwen and Miles (and obviously Hobie and Pavitr and Margo) enthusiastically share their musical tastes with each other
- In the same vein, I just want them to hangout as friends so they have like weekly game nights sharing different card and board games and Pavitr keeps trying to convince everyone to let him run a ttrpg he really likes
- Peni and Margo figure out how to make inter-dimensional Wi-Fi so the teens also play MMOs together even when they’re in their respective universes
- Peni watches Hobie and Gwen play a gig and is enamored by the drums so she asks Gwen to teach her and oh Wow what a great outlet she should’ve tried this Sooner (please imagine Spider hanging from a cymbal as Peni plays and doing that cartoon zaggy vibration whenever it’s hit)
- Lots of hopping between each other’s universes cuz I want them to spend even More time together and have like cultural exchanges and stuff
- When Peni eventually divulges how she got her powers and what happened to her dad and the whole Oscorp technically being her employer thing, the protective older siblings instincts come out and one day her Uncle Ben looks up from his work to see his niece flanked by several angry looking teens
- I know this is supposed to be a Peni Gwen Miles friendship dynamic ask but Peni would get along so well with the other teens like if you’ve seen Peni’s room in the comics she’s a big fan of punk rock and would absolutely be besties with Hobie. Then there’s Pavitr and their sunshine personalities would elevate each other! And, as I’ve mentioned before Peni and Margo are Tech Buddies!!!
- A sign of trust from Peni is if she lets you hold Spider. A high honor! Miles doesn’t get it when she just drops em on his shoulder one day when she goes to do something, so when Gwen tells him he tears up a little bit (a lotta bit)
- okay, and finally, if you’ve read the Spider-Verse Unlimited: Infinity story with Peni, you know she wants to be Normal very Badly and does the usual awkward kid thing of trying to fit in with the Popular Kids’ interests while keeping her secret identity safe during the inevitable calls to hero duty interrupting her time with friends. She doesn’t have to do that with her Spidey buds/siblings!! An alert of trouble while hanging with them means some epic team-up fights!!! Chosen family, My Beloved…

A ‘what if’ for y’all on this beautiful Tuesday morning
I really don’t wanna start no shit, but I just have to know…how would the fandom react if Miles and Gwen had traded places? The movie would still be amazing, but how would the discourse look if things went like this…
It was Miles that was forced to leave his universe because he messed up so bad; and in turn, the citizens of 1610 labeled him as a criminal. There is a warrant out for his arrest and when Jeff and Rio find out his identity, they don’t fully trust him because he's been lying about being Spiderman for so long. Jeff thinks he’s fallen down the same path as Aaron and Miles’ defenses fall on deaf ears.
Then in comes Miguel and Jess who give him the opportunity to join the Spider Society, build on his skills, and see all of the spider people he'd missed in the past year- everyone except for Gwen because in this "what if" she's the anamoly. Peter Parker was supposed the be Spiderman of Earth-65, not his love interest who was destined to 🎲 in said reality. So now Miguel refuses to even touch that dimension cause if she still ends up 🎲ing like the others, then Earth-65 will have no Spiderman to protect it. Otherwise things are pretty chill there; GhostSpider isn’t demonized but Gwen is still having trouble making friends. She’s missing Miles and is struggling to cope with Peter’s death.
Situation presents itself where Miles gets to go on a mission on Earth-65 to keep tabs on a villain. The only condition being that he can’t visit Gwen- which he disregards of course. They swing around Chelsea, NY, share a moment on the GWB…yada yada yada. The thing is, Miles is lying to Gwen by omission. He knows that Captain Stacy is running on borrowed time and he knows that Gwen is an anomaly who was never supposed to be Spiderwoman and she might 🎲 if they fall in love. The evening goes on and he chums it up with her dad (who he knows will end up on a mural soon) then takes his leave. Gwen- who’s curiosity is piqued at the mention of the Spider Society-knows Miles is hiding something so she gets the ‘ok’ from George (who is the best dad in this au) to follow him and she wastes no time.
Shit pops off in Mumbattan and because she’s ignorant to canon events, she saves Gyatri and Captain Singh and ASM-90 is interrupted. Jess is pissed, but Gwen’s not worried cause she knows she did the right thing and if this ‘Miguel O’Hara’ guy has a problem he can say it to her face. So despite Miles’ discomfort and Hobie’s dissuasion, she follows Jess to the SS anyway (low key excited she finally gets to see what Miles was talking about).
At Nueva York, she meets some more cool Spider people and bumps into old friends(it’s kinda weird how they’re all a part pf this taskforce except for her, but whatever). Miles is shitting bricks right now cause he has an idea of how things are gonna go down- still he says nothing, and tries move the group along.
The time comes for Gwen to finally meet Miguel and he holds nothing back when telling her why she shouldn’t have saved those civilians. Gwen stands ten toes down on her actions until Miguel debriefs her on ASM-90. Now knowing that her father’s life is in danger, she refuses to accept the fact that she can’t save him. She looks around the room for support from her friends: Peter, Peni, Ham and gets nothing but guilt ridden glances and silence. What stings a bit more is the fact that the boy she cares about the most isn’t 100% on her side here. Even as she finds herself running for her life from a mob of Spider people trying to detain her, Miles is still on the fence- yet leaning more towards Miguel’s side. He even gives Jessica an advantage by pulling her motorcycle up to speed with her. He catches her as she's falling, eyes filled with sorrow and remorse, but it changes nothing. Her instinct tells her to cut the web. Gwen didn't know if he was helping her or capturing her and she’s pretty sure Miles didn't know either. As said before, it changes nothing.
Suddenly, they’re on a high speed tram and an irritated, adrenaline filled Miguel finally catches up to Gwen. He choke slams her onto the tram and Miles and Peter are right behind them telling him to calm down, they don’t do much else to stop Miguel. They don’t want her to get hurt, but that doesn’t mean they’re on her side. As Gwen struggles against Miguel’s hold, he drops another bomb on her. ASM-121:
“That spider shouldn’t have bit you! Your friend, Peter was supposed to be Spiderman. He wasn’t supposed to die, that was your destiny! If you disrupt one more canon event, your universe will collapse and i’ll have to pick up the pieces”
This knowledge nearly destroys Gwen and the fact that all her friends knew about it, stings more. “Gwen, this if for your own good!” Miles calls out. For her own good? How? Who decides that? Gwen had no idea. In fact, Miles has been all over the place since he came to visit her. Lying about the smallest things, apparently it’s because he was hiding this from her. She knows about his situation at home, but the matter of fact is that she can’t trust him like she thought she could.
Gwen is able to fight Miguel off and escape, but not before giving Miles one last “goodbye”. Tears in her eyes and faith in him and their relationship crumbled to bits.
Film ends kind of the same way, Miles bands together a team of Spider people to right his wrong and save Gwen. Gwen is trapped in a dimension where she and her father are memorialized.
I skipped a lot but you get the gist. So with that image in your mind, how inclined do you feel to defend Miles’ actions? Would you confidently say he did nothing wrong? He didn’t mean for things to get this far, he didn’t wanna hurt her, he just didn’t want to face what was waiting for him back home. Are you defending him within an inch of your life? Is he a victim? Do you think that Gwen should just swallow her feelings of hurt and betrayal to understand where he’s coming from? The trust is gone, but is she obligated to give him the opportunity to rebuild that trust? Is he still entitled to her affections? Can you see how her feelings for him would change (even just a little)? Would you be disappointed in her if she decides not to be in relationship with him after everything is said and done? Please contemplate this and be honest. What if the roles were reversed? 🤔

I may get hate for this but this is my opinions on characters in the spider verse movies. And feel free to disagree with me. I will only be talking about the movies portrayal of characters not the comics so I may like a character more in the comics but not in the movie. And another thing I'll take into consideration is plot importance. These are just my thoughts on the characters in general like morally, personality, and how they make me feel
Miles Morales: main character so he immediately gets some points, his story in the first movie was amazing, and it kinda leaks into the second film with him trying to find his place as Spiderman and he has had some of the best moments in the franchise. It makes me so excited for them to rap up his story in the next one. 10/10
Gwen Stacy: her story has been one of the best parts of these movies as it perfectly shows why she does and act the ways she does in the movies from the loss of her best friend and that fear holding her back till miles appears and her conflict with her dad fueling her to stay with the spider society and her later facing her problems instead of running away from them makes her and amazing character, also her fight with the vulture was one of my favorite parts of the movie. 10/10
Peter B Parker: he was good in the first film with it shows his problems in his own world and Miles helping him overcome some fears like having children and in the second him having mayday showing he got his life together, but he loses major points for the second film. He did nothing important only hurting miles and I understand her joins Gwen at the end to help him but hes constantly bringing his child to battles and did nothing when Gwen was being sent home to a place where she had no safe place to stay and where her dad had tried to shoot her. Like my guy you are an adult Atleast try and say something.4/10
Peni Parker: absolutely adorable in the first film and very helpful in making and new goober her and spider are so interesting and her dynamics with porker and noir is so cool, it made me so sad when her Fathers mech died. While she didn't do anything important in the second film the movie did a great job of showing she had changed, I can wait to see more of her in the next film. 7/10
Spider noir: I definitely think he's over rated but I can see why. his design slaps and he was quite funny in the first film, they did a great job in showing someone from a black and white world trying to adjust to a world of colours, he was a good character with some great lines despite not doing anything of much importance to the story, him throwing a car at tombstone was badass though and his relationship with peni was cute. Maybe my opinion will change on him in the next movie though. 6/10
Spider ham: I don't really feel anything towards him he had some good lines and his fight with scorpion was great but other than that he didn't really do anything, hopefully this will change in the next film. 5/10
Miguel O'Hara: here's where people may disagree with me. I like the concept for his powers and I think he's a great antagonists to Gwen and miles but other than that I don't care about him as a character. Im interesting to see what happens with him in the next film but I ain't to fond of his design, and his cannon even theory is fucking shifty, like bro the reason the world collapsed was because you replaced a dead person not because you stopped one event. Also he should not be treating children the way he does in the film , like dude you were a father wtf. And the hype around the character also puts me off him as well. 3/10
Jessica drew: I actually really like Jess, while she didn't do to much in the film, it was still enough to get me interested in her character from her first interaction with Gwen showing concern for her and later becoming her mentor. When Gwen gets sent home it shows her slowly swaying away from Miguel , the film actually shows a conflict within this character which a lot of characters seemingly don't get, and makes me wanna see how she's handled next film. 7/10
Hobie brown: I like Hobie he's just over rated as fuck. He makes the new watches for Gwen and the gang and also helps miles get free but other than that, he hasn't got much of an individual story in the movie yet, he just felt like a side character, which technically he is but most of the other spiders don't have the problem for me. I think I heard where seeing more of his world in the next film so hopefully it gives us more insight to his character, but I also feel like once again it's the fan girls which are ruining the character for me. 5/10
Pavitr Prabhakar: I loved him his introduction was incredible and and entire section of the movie in mumbattan was incredible, with the black hole forming in his world, it provides his character with a secondary story behind the main movie one. Him joining the gang at the end of the film even with his world collapsing shows how good of a friend he is, miles helped him so now he's gonna help miles, while he didn't do to much in the movie they did a great job of setting up his character for the next one. 7/10
Margo kess: I absolutely love her design and she wasn't in the film enough, the only thing she really did in the movie was let miles go but it had a big impact, I can't wait to see her on the team in the next film. I'm also sick of people putting her and Gwen against each other the besties deal with it. Her score would be higher I just haven't seen enough of her character yet. 6/10
Miles g morales: badass entrence and it was a really cool ending to the film, thought were don't know anything about him yet as a character so I can't really rate him yet. 4/10
Spider cat: 10/10 no questions asked.

really enjoyed the new spiderverse :) the kind of movie that makes me go "damn i love movies"
my initial non-spoilery thoughts
loooved everything about the opening sequence. gwen's watercolor world is so responsive to her state of mind, transitioning from pastels to darker shades to more water-drippy and impressionistic
the web-slinging/swinging sequences are so fucking cool. just watching miles move through the city is beautiful—the effortless way in which their bodies move along with the camera, the way the web looks; spiderman has never looked better. you just cannot do this shit in live action.
i never got tired or exhausted by the visuals (maybe except until the fight sequence on the rocket/vertical train thing, but that's more action scene fatigue) which shows how well the movie is visually paced
in clumsier hands the self-referential humor ("villain of the week") and multiverse explaining ("canon events") would've been such a pain, but it's implemented really well. they clearly know when to be comedic vs. serious. no "that happened"s here!
i think the first half of the movie is much better paced and themed—i really enjoyed the family drama and miles and gwen just hanging out. once they reach the spiderpeople HQ it starts to feel bloated
more plot/spoilery stuff under the cut
it's hard to discuss the themes because it's half of a movie—luckily i went in knowing that, i would've been upset if i didn't know beforehand lol
the vulture at the beginning was very cool. i want to see his leonardo da vinci world
fucking love the spot. a villain who desperately wants to be taken seriously paired with a hero who quips and doesn't give him the time of day, driving him further down the villain path. great stuff
the only live action bit i liked was with the convenience store lady from the venom movies...otherwise it was pretty jarring. i do not need to see crying andrew garfield in my animated spiderman movie
i was happy to see peni :) her characterization and design was one of the more disappointing things about the first movie so i'm hoping her larger role in the third installment will be more in the vein of edgy mech anime/NGE
the slow realization that miles ended up in the wrong universe was soooo good i felt so smart and shocked when it happened. "what's comicscon" indeed
this movie had like 5 different endings lol
the actual ending rubbed me the wrong way in the implication that a world without spiderman (read: law enforcement) devolves into Crime and Anarchy and i get that it's an easy way to mark the universe as The Bad Timeline but it still sucks imo.
...which is a weird contrast to the spider society where they're clearly doing a "miguel's strict law enforcement is harming him and everyone around him" thing but i guess the movie is just going along with the age-old good cop myth. also hated the direct comparison between the spider mask and a cop badge. overall i think the movie's stance on cops and law enforcement is a clear attempt at having their cake and eating it too (especially noticeable with spiderpunk's existence). unfortunately that's probably par for the course for spiderman stories and superhero narratives at large
so interested in what they'll do with prowler-miles. i'm hoping he has an important role in the next one
for me this movie really disproves the idea of superhero/multiverse fatigue
hope all the artists who worked on this get a nice and long vacation. because my god.

Okay so! I saw Across The Spider-Verse. I wanna say some lil thoughts. First off, without spoilers:
I thought the first movie had prepared me for how visually captivating and groundbreaking this one would be and I was WRONG. They took it SO much further in this one and it is SPECTACULAR. The way they play much more with the art style depending on the spidey-person and the universe is incredibly fun to see and impressive to think about.
Now for a LOT of thoughts concerning spoilers:
I am SO glad that they used the fact that it's a two-parter to take the time with its story. Plenty of slower moments, room for talking, etc. I knew it was gonna be a To Be Continued, but was worried the movie would be at a break-neck speed to cram in as much story as possible like with the fuckin uuuh avengers movie with Purplo The Mean Man, and I am SO GLAD!!! That they didn't!!!
Next off I was never a fan of Peni's design in the first movie. It felt too much like that "trying to be anime" thing that western cartoons had going for a while, and I can now only imagine that the creators had planned from the start to have her grow into her comic book design between movies, which is VERY GOOD. (I had already assumed that SP//DR's design would be comic accurate in this movie after its destruction but it's nice to see :> )
On that topic, I do thing it's a bit of a shame that Peni, Noir and Ham didn't get to be in this movie, really. I understand why! Use this one to flesh out the new important characters (and they are very good especially Hobie) so it doesn't feel cluttered when you put them all together in the third one. But I was looking forward to seeing them...
Now let's have a little intermission. (it's relevant I promise) Please meet Carapace, my Spider-Sona, who I created after I had gone to see the first movie back in 2018:
I won't bore yall with the details, but basically she got her powers due to outside intervention causing a shift in her universe. Her getting these powers resulted in that universe's Peter Parker, the one who was supposed to be Spidey, to die. Carapace is characterized as sticking very closely to her own morals even if it might harm in the long run, even when people tell her and show her what she is doing is dangerous, and eventually this leads her actions, as well as her very existence to endanger the entire multiverse despite her best efforts.
So. you know. I thought that was interesting. Given. Yknow. The movie
Okay moving on. Spider-Gwen is the only spidey comic series I've actively read, so seeing her story and her artstyle explored more in this movie was a delight! It's also just really nice how she's more of a pivotal character this time around, given a lot more focus. I'm happy about that :> (also can't believe we now know why she has sneakers in fortnite wow)
The Spot! Was spoiled for me. But not like, in much detail? I had, after seeing fanart against my will, pieced together that he was the guy that got a bagel thrown at him in the first movie, and that he had something to do with "Canon". Now as someone who's read homestuck, and has consumed modern media in general, the use of the word Canon worried me. I was worried they'd break the fourth wall and get all annoyingly meta and stuff. BUT they didn't! They did get meta with it, talking about the canon events that make a spidey-person, but never broke the fourth wall. It was handled carefully and it works! Maybe that's why Ham isn't present in this movie... He'd definitely ruin that now that I think about it. As for The Spot, he's not the most compelling villain. He's funny! it's a funny concept for a villain origin. "Just take this one-off gag from the first movie and turn him into the main villain." But by doing that, by making him Funny and Pretty Dumb In Concept, and then turning him into an Actual Real Threat whose motive is that nobody takes him seriously, it WORKS. We the audience are PART OF THE PROBLEM kinda I dunno I thought it was neat.
Miguel is mean to Miles >:| Stoopid poopoo head >:| (but it's cool that he's like a parallel to Kingpin from the first movie)
As for the whole "different versions of the movie in different theaters" thing, that was spoiled for me, thoughI didn't know what was different heading in. Apparently it's like, Lyla doing some funny little bits? Whatever. I can only assume needing to re-animate perfectly good scenes for no reason other than "aah gotcha! Neat right??" is definitely something that contributed to the reported terrible working conditions and crunch during production. It's a fun reminder that even a film that is so strongly about art, about pushing back against conformity and those that want to control you, is still being made by a giant corporation, and according to that corporation, the workers don't matter, only the product's ability to money. I can only hope that the animators get enough time to work normally on Beyond the Spider-Verse, which I'm sure will be also a phenomenal movie despite the higher ups' demands, just like this one.
Also they said ASS and CRAP in it!! Wow!!!!

tossing around the idea of a heromari spiderverse au...
mostly because you could very easily make hero miles and make mari gwen and keep most things the same, lmao.
and i'm a heromari guy and i love them so much please kiss heromari.
(spiderverse and omori spoilers, under the cut, obviously)
because i'm not an artist, but rather, a nerd, i want to explore things based on what will better enhance or explore character development/arcs.
the addition of siblings would really change the spiderverse series, i think. imagine the implications of gwen's choice to leave her father in the second film if she had a younger brother who admires and loves her waiting for her at home. sunny could even be (overtly or secretly) obsessed with spiderwoman, increasing tension in the home.
in a similar way, it'd be interesting to see the conflict caused in sunny's family if sunny's mom died. we know the family becomes completely shaken after mari's death, and if we take their father's choice to abandon the family as a habit, watching him struggle to pull the strings together after the loss of their mom would pressure his character more. this could even trap him further into his "duty" to catch spiderwoman.
figuring out who gwen's peter parker would be is difficult, but i've decided on hero. in fact, it would be interesting to explore how a gwen-esque character would cope with the having miles in his position in her universe, and needing to reconcile with this idea that he is alive, but he is not the same. giving mari restraint despite the desire to see "her hero" again would also be very interesting to explore.
also MAYBE i just wanna see mari drawn in the gwen watercolour style. i wanna kiss her. leave me alone.
miles honestly feels like the kel sibling, so i'd prefer to just have him be hero with kel characteristics. however, there is more to it than just that - hero's character would inhibit the story of spiderverse at multiple points, because of his maturity, so he needs kel's immaturity to choose to take particular actions. if you need an example, miles' choice to enter the portal after gwen was an impulsive, emotional decision, which simply doesn't fit hero's character.
this scene was absolutely gorgeous btw. i can't believe people don't talk about it, the upside down scene was amazing but THIS. THIS. and sorry for awful quality
there are several aspects to miles' character that mimic hero's personality. the pining for gwen and miles' surprise when he sees her again could easily fit into hero's character. although implied in the original movie, having hero as a character could bring miles' acceptance that he might never see his friends again to the forefront. (although the desire to study physics could replace hero's desire to be a chef in the original game, to smoothen out the story.)
i'm not sure how to input kel or basil, but aubrey would make a good peni parker, i think.
#bro idk i've been thinking about this a lot#omori#omori au#omori fandom#omori spoilers#omori hero#omori mari#omori heromari#across the spiderverse#spiderverse au#gwiles#sentience's stuff

Just a silly idea:
I remember not too long ago that one of the things that makes Jake uncomfortable are actual spiders. And yet I see him being perfectly okay with Spider-people, as in Peter Parker, Miles, Gwen, Peni, etc if he ever met them
You think those guys along with Mar’i would maybe help out Jake with his fear of spiders?
@paladin-of-nerd-fandom65
Oh totally!
They would tell him about how cool spiders actually are, along with the many things that make them really interesting creatures compared to other insects
Peter (being the lovable science nerd in the group) would also be the one whipping out a bunch of information from either a book or from online about how awesome spiders can really be and would even be telling him about all of the ones that aren't poisonous and don't bite people, trying to help him get out of his fear a little better (I'm thinking a teenage Peter here, but it could also be an older version of him too)
Peni would introduce Sp//dr (not his robot self, his actual little spider self) to Jake to help him see how it is to really interact with a spider face to face, especially since Sp//dr isn't the type to attack, so she trusts that he would be okay while holding him in his hand (Jake almost lets out a scream when she drops him onto his hand though, but he tries to contain himself once he feels a comforting hand on his shoulder from Mar'i). The Spidey squad would even be cheering him on as he continues to bravely hold onto Sp//dr without letting his strong fear take over him like usual and instantly making him run away
Gwen and Miles would tell him that spiders are what even gave them their awesome powers in the first place, making Jake feel even more impressed by what spiders can do
By the end of all this talking with the Spidey squad, Jake begins to rethink his thoughts and fears on real spiders, realizing that they're maybe not as bad and terrifying as he had thought before
And as the night begins to take over the sky, they all offer Jake and Mar'i to go swinging along with all of them in the city for a bit since he'll be going on patrol soon anyways, so it'll be something that they can all take care of together like a team
He happily accepts with sheer joy on his face, as he quickly goes to change into his Skybird suit and and grabs his escrima sticks with him, swiftly swinging out of his window with the grappling hook that's builted inside of both said escrima sticks, going out into the night with his new spider friends and his sister to go fight some crime
Thanks for the ask, buddy!! :D

Love the plot for the mermaid arachikids AU! I can help with some knowledge from the comics. -Ganke would be into helping mermaid tech as he’s tech savvy in the comics -Peni does not have a good home life with kits family, aunt and uncle forced kits to ride SP//DR -Gwen Stacy the original one is a daddy’s girl who has only her dad so we can assume the same with Gayatri -I think personality wise Gayatri would fit Renho better, and Aoi with Margo (love your ideas as always)
I'm so glad you like my plot lol! I spent hours writing it, staying up to like 3am because I was having a lot of fun! :D
And thanks for the info!
So by the end of my post I did kinda have Ganke in a more tech field. Not specifically the robotics part of the mermaids, since Peni's powers really make it better for her job, but now that I know this, I can see Ganke helping Peni out when kit starts getting overwhelmed during performances.
Like the stages that have live performances also have screens, so Ganke is the one who does transitions from holo to virtual. Keeping up powers for a whole performance would be hard, so Pav and Peni take small breaks during live performances where the mo-cappers will take over as the mermaids now perform on screen for a bit (letting Sofa and Margo and Ganke to take over the scenery now while Pav focuses soley on mo-cap and Peni is giving a mental break from being a connector).
Once they get the money to properly have hologram tech that Peni doesn't need to be a connector to, then I can see kit and Ganke being the main mermaid techs.
As for Peni's home life, it would be cool to know what her life was BEFORE her dad died and had to be forced into the SP//DR suit (pretty sure she was only forced to fight because her dad died and her DNA was the only compatible one there was). Mainly because the NSpidR AU doesn't have spider tech/powers so her home life would be more like what it is in the comics before her father died and she took over his role.
If it was a good life, just that kits father was a superhero, then I can still see kits home life being really good. If not, then I guess kits family would be kinda like Sofa where they kinda support the kid but are more wanting to use their kid for money so would push kit to join NSR once they found out about it.
The family would think they are helping Peni, using Yinu as an example of a young start in this case. Otherwise I could potentially see them like Tila's family where they want to control Peni and force kit to do what they want, which in this case would be forcing kit to keep up with the mermaid project once the family caught wind of the project potentially being picked up by NSR.
Though I only see this happening if Peni doesn't have her dad, since (unless the comics make him out to be bad) her dad would truly want her best interest at heart. Kinda like Yinu's family honestly. Except in the reverse, I think? Like if Papa was alive he wouldn't have wanted Yinu to be working at NSR, but since he is dead Mama allows it. If Peni's dad is alive then he would allow her to go and be supportive while if he wasn't then she doesn't have a choice (either they force her to quit or force her to go, either way she would have to fight to do what she WANTS). [Also, is Peni adopted? I think I read that somewhere but idk. In this AU I keep thinking her dad would be biologically related to her]
Gwen and Gayatri being daddy's girls is so cute in my mind. And their dads being super supportive of them (even if they don't realize fully) is a nice touch. It would be nice if Gayatri is able to connect to Gwen through this, making them close friends. Both were so close to their dads, had some fears about their dads possibly not accepting them (or their relationships, or stuff like that).
Gayatri was able to get the courage to talk with her dad and things worked out, while Gwen ran away from her dad out of fear. Gaya would definitely be a rock for Gwen to hold on to and also be a hope for Gwen that things would turn out like the relationship that Gayatri has with her dad.
As for why I had Gaya as Aoi and not Renho, you are probably right that their personalities would fit better, however I see the mermaids as being visually made first before ever even making personalities for them and even way before getting voice actors for them.
So like, when you make an OC and have the visuals, then you make their personality, and THEN make lore for them or something like that (kinda working backwards but I do this with some of my OCs). That is how the first two mermaids would have been made.
Remi would have already had a beta version of Sayu made as well as a beta version of Aoi. Those two are always the first mermaids made in my head. So when Pav and Gayatri joined, at first it was just to work on Sayu with two voice actors, but would later split into Sayu and Aoi.
The team didn't want to keep switching voices, so Gayatri would stay on Aoi for voice, but the team tried to take voice actors into mind more later on whenever they brought in a new mermaid.
Which is why Gwen got Yua. The team had a good talk about it and Remi probably brought up the idea that Yua could be trans so that there was a reason Yua's voice sounded more masculine at the beginning which Gwen ended up loving the idea of since she had really wanted to voice one of these merms but didn't want to be a merman. So trans Yua was made!
I still don't have an idea of which one would come next even in the OG version of the mermaid club. Usually I've been thinking it would go Haru then Renho last, but it could have been the other way as well. Out of those two, I do kinda see Margo as having more fun with being Haru's voice actor instead of Renho, but I can also see Peni being a good fit.
Peni would probably fit nicely with Renho, at least better than Margo would, even if kits voice would still fit Haru a bit more, so because of this Margo most likely gets Haru and Peni gets Renho.
It could honestly go either way because I find it funny if the only reason they even added 2 more mermaids was because they wanted to be more like 1010 (I am sure a lot of these teens were fans of 1010 and so looked up to them as a group). So 3 mermaids became 5 and they worked with what they had because, I don't know, they thought adding too many more people might be a bad idea? Or they couldn't find anyone else to really fill in the spots that fit with the whole team itself even if they would have been a good mermaid.
These are teens who are probably not entirely sociable. At least on the Crew's side of things. The Arachnikids seem pretty sociable, so they probably wouldn't have had any problems working in a huge group. But since some of the main people who started this (Tila and Remi, but also Sofa and Dodo) weren't very interested in a super huge group unless it was a friend group as well, they just had Margo and Peni be the new voice actors instead of finding someone new.
So yeah! Thanks for the info! I'll try to remember this stuff in case I need it for later! Glad you like my ideas! :D

Just saw Across The Spiderverse
Thought it was a solid 8/10.
Mainly, it's character focused with Gwen really shining throughout. Her last scene with her desperately trying to resist getting sent back home. Really hit me. She told all of Spider Society that they're the villains of this multiversal story (while she's no saint herself in this movie)
Spider-Byte needs more interactions with Miles especially after she let him escape at the end.
She was a baddie 😍 also ALL the Spider-Women were THICC AF 🤤
Anyways back to the characters lol
Hobbie was a very fun character, I'd love to see more of him. His no-fucks-given but cool personality really shined in his introduction.
Overall, I'd say my favorite scenes are still Gwen revealing her identity to her dad & Miles saying "Nah, I'm gonna do my own thing" to Miguel.
Miguel is my favorite character in the movie right along with Hobbie & Gwen. I think we definitely should've gotten more Peni Parker. Her brief appearance made me really interested about what's going on with her. She feels way more melancholic I guess? Just her facial expression when she says "Miles.." makes me think she's gone thru alot since we last saw her. Maybe that's pure headcanon on my part which is fine.

Finished the movie! It really is that good! First superhero movie i actually enjoyed!
It really lives up to the hype, the animation is absolutely.... godly tbh? Maybe even more than that, the final battle might be the greatest animated fight scene of all times, i definitely need to watch it again on youtube later, not a single frame that wasn't a masterpiece, i want to print them all and tape every i own with that, kt was just very beautiful and colorful, way better than i was expecting
Now, as for the plot, it was great, i guess the only "flaw" is that certains parts like the villains really felt For The Fans and barely know enough of Spiderman lore to know what each of them are or do, but like, none of them were bland or had bad motives, i def loved Octavia, from her designs to her fights and evil intelligence, but I do wish we got to know more about Miles' uncle because that was one hell of a twist; but i Don't want to read Spiderman or consume any Spiderman material so I guess i'll just live with my questions :/
Comparated to the villain i think the Spider Team was introduced quite amazingly instead, the little gimmick to explain each comic where they come from like if the reader already knew that works pretty well, you don't get the full story but you still get everything you need to understand them as characters and people; all of them felt really complete despite not getting a lot of screentime, every scene with them was written with a clear purpose in mind and a message to get across to the viewer
Def loved Peni and her gimmick (even my dad loved it) and the scene where her mecha gets broken is the closest this movie got to make shed a tear, Spider Noir was quite... interesting? He is the one who left me with more questions out the heroes but because he's so cool i want know more about him, Spider-Man was quite... epic i might say, as someone who watched a lot of Looney Toons as a kid i really enjoyed his gags, Gwen was someone who i kinda expected more screen time by how it seemed like to be the tritagonist but she really wasn't? I found Miles' dad to have a bigger role as hero than her, but I still liked her, she was funny, smart, helpful and elegant in her strenght, nothing to complain except her awful Karen haircut but it wasn't her fault </3, kinda sad she only accepted Miles' friendship only in the end because their potential dynamic seems pretty cute and fun, but Oh Well there is a new movie for them to explore it! Cool spider(wo)man moving on.
(Oh and as for Blondie Parker, liked his time as Migues' first supporter as spiderboy, despite his bravery you can really feel how tired and cynical he has become from being Spiderman, a struggle that got later inspired by Peter B, tragic character who never got clusure and left a wife behind, maybe the biggest rewl tragedy of this movie tbh)
Getting to the Main Characters... Miles and Peter B Parker were just... exceptional tbh
One of the most unique mentor/student duos i have seen, i love how both have their own "zero to hero" arc in different directions, Peter B isn't any less talented as blondie Peter, but he isn't nearly as heroic as him, and Miles, who is just some art kid with nerd tendencies that literally has the weight of his universe of his shoulders snd eventually their arcs mirror eachother, Peter B understand that he doesn't want to be alone anymore and that he NEEDS a family to care about, and Miles gets he CAN do it alone because his family cares about him, poetry into motion
I found both of them to be extremely relatable, Miles doesn't want to disappoint people anymore and Peter B is just burnout, but they both learn that with great powers come great responsabilities but also new opportunity and that's what worth fighting for, always keep fighting no matter the odds to get your happiest ending possible
Also their bond is soooooooooooooo sweet, I love this kind of found family that is like "yeah these people have their own families but there are still fatherly feelings around here", Miles is the reason now Peter B wants a kid and that's hilarious, they carry this movie, like- no actually they MAKE this movie
And speaking of family i love how this movie uses Miles' parents, it really makes a good job to keep them involved in the narrative and Miles' life without getting in the way of the spider matters, Miles' bond with his father was such a core part of his arc and themes, it's just as important to the ones between Miles and Peter B, Rio isn't as important but she was sweet too, love to see parents that ALIVE and a POSITIVE INFLUENCE IN THEIR CHILDREN'S LIVES
Miles is just... a dorky little baby who has no idea how much he's been blessed with lol, he's so good at everything he does but the first time he finds something he's shit at he's just "welp i'm not going to speak to my parents for a 2 days now", he's such a real teenage boy
This "family" theme carries onto different characters, like Peni and losing the robot her dad made, the uncle's relationships with both Miles and his brother, and even Aunt May, who is now, well kinda alone at this point, but I did loved she was Spider Team's main ally and kept the... spidercove for them? (I'm sorry but was this in the comics? because where i'm kinda lost on that ngl)
She was awesome, pretty much every woman, minor or not, in this movie was, not that this movie has ANY bad characters in first place but i like this kind of inclusivity too, even MJ who has 2 scenes was cool, only flaw is that i guess there weren't many interactions between women? I guess Gwen fought Octavia but I kinda would havw wanted maybe a little talk between Gwen and Peni about being the only Spidergirlies around, this movie only passes the Bechdel Test because Gwen said MJ they would bring her some bread, step up your game Sony!
Also a lot of meme references? Which is fair, Spiderman is a blockbuster series of movie which toooons of cultural impact, and beyond that, who would expect the next movie "teaser" would have just been "pointing spiderman"?
So i'm watching Beyond with my dad? Absolutely yes, it will be sad i will have to wait 5 years for the story to conclude but i can wait :]
Still don't get the Peter B Parker thrist like from a sexy perspective he's just a guy to me.
I have finally given up and i'm watching Into The Spiderverse with my dad who loves Spiderman? i'm 1/3 in the movie now and right now, it's pretty awesome 👍
The animation and blend of 2D-comic style (and visible sound effects) + CGI is pretty genial, the comedy and timing is really well done and so are the jabs to comic book clishès, the characters are hilarious but not in a forced and over the top way, Miles is pretty adorable and his bond with the cynical Peters is rather interesting, all in all i'm seeing why this movie is hyped so much

The Beta Team That Never Was - Fanfiction Corner (BH6 Edition)
So all of this Peni Parker comic talk actually got me thinking about the process of her being included in my fanfiction.
I wish I could tell you it was a long and arduous process, but...
OK, maybe some of it was hard. But when you have a virtually endless supply of Marvel characters that you can use for possible teammates for Big Hero 6, you have to go with your gut.
We all know that the team will be Robbie, Aspen, Peni, Doreen (eventually), and Kate. But there were six other candidates that could have been in the mix as well.
And five of them have their emblems here:
These were made before I actually knew how to make hero emblems properly.
Some of them you might recognize. Some you may not. But we’re going to go through them all, from left to right.
And to start...it’s really hard to draw tiny hearts.
1.) Riri Williams/Ironheart - Ironically enough, it was around the time that Hiro started chasing Sirque around the town in “Portal Enemy” that I started brainstorming her. A teenage genius, stuck as to what to make, sees “Captain Cutie” and the chase on the news and gets brainstorming.
Thus, the Power Armor is born.
And she gets so excited that she bolts off to San Fransokyo to show her idol what she’s created.
And then, as per the Big Hero 6 Fanfiction Clause states...shenanigans ensue.
It was an interesting possibility, but the thought of Ironheart was really late into me doing the backstories of the people that I had chosen, so she was pushed aside. I don’t personally see me revisiting her in the future, but who knows?
2.) Nadia Van Dyne/The Wasp - Back when Karmi had first been pulled out of SFIT, there was a young woman who wanted to recruit her into a special organization. It was one that brought together the greatest female minds in their fields, and Karmi was on said recruitment list.
The organization?
Genius In action Research Labs, or G.I.R.L. for short. And it was led by the Wasp’s daughter, Nadia Pym (later changed to Nadia Van Dyne).
Plot-wise, this was probably the person that I got the farthest with, since the story would’ve been more of a focus on Karmi than anyone else. Also, the idea of writing someone with Bipolar Disorder (which Nadia was confirmed to have in her latest solo run) was intriguing if nothing else.
Unfortunately, it sort of dried up from there. A lack of a central conflict, uncertainty as to how many of the other girls (Taina, Priya, Shay, and Ying) to have, and how to handle her actual powers stopped it cold.
But seriously, how do you write in the ability to shrink to microscopic size? That’s not really a thing, even in a world as futuristic as San Fransokyo.
3.) America Chavez/Ms. America - The mere idea of a Superman-esque Latina teenager was enticing, especially because America, in her relatively short comic history, was with the Ultimates and the West Coast Avengers (meaning there was a possible Kate/Hawkeye angle). Making start-shaped portals was the Silent Sparrow angle, and the all-around badass, headstrong attitude would be the counter to Honey Lemon’s more nurturing personality.
But being from an alternate universe (which has very recently been retconned in the comics in part because she will be appearing in the MCU and Doctor Strange 2), no real villain to play off of, and becoming possibly way too overpowered for the BH6 universe, she was scrapped.
It’s quite a shame. I really like her in the comics that she’s in. Perhaps there will be an opportunity for her somewhere down the line...
4.) Alison Blaire/Dazzler - A pop star with light-based powers?
Or better yet, a struggling artist with acoustikinesis?
Her power to convert sound into light was what originally drew me to her. Something that could be made into a technological ability, unique enough to put a (pardon the pun) spotlight on it.
An actual blonde instead of whatever HL’s hair color is.
Heck, she even has a half-sister named Lois that could have been the antagonist (death tough, destruction waves, and the like).
But she quickly got lost in the fold. Better ideas (like Kate and Doreen) got more of my brainstorming, and she was eventually given up on.
But funnily enough...
It’s almost like she’s already in the show.
(See, for the people who may be new, one of the many Marvel theories that I’ve touched upon is that High Voltage is actually this universe’s version of Dazzler. Juniper is Alison and Barb is...well...Barbara London, Alison’s mom).
Hey, @baymaksu totally agrees with me kinda sort of.
5.) Cindy Moon/Silk - I knew right from the get-go that I wanted a Spider-person on the beta team. I also knew that I didn’t want Peter.
No offense to Peter Parker. He’s fine. But there’s a billion other Spiders out there, and I wanted someone out of the normal vein of Peter, as well as even Miles and Gwen.
And in came Cindy.
Locked away in The Bunker because of her spider powers manifesting, she was eventually released by Peter and thus began her entrance into the main Marvel world.
Her “unique ability” is her improved Spider-Sense, which Peter has said is even better than his own. That, plus her other powers, brought her the closest out of anyone to being a member of the Big Hero 6 Beta Team.
As we all know, however, Peni ended up getting the spot over Cindy (for the family angle with Hiro and the giant robot that she pilots). On the other hand, Cindy would later make her debut in the stinger of the last chapter of Along Came The S.P.I.D.E.R., along with Miles, Anya, and Joey.
Unlike Riri, Nadia, America, and Alison, Cindy and the rest of Peni’s little Spider Society are going to be showing up in future stories. And if I can get everything in order, they will be starring in their own story set in the Big Hero 6 universe.
Finally, I have no emblem for them, but the honorable mention goes to...
6.) Lunella Lafayette/Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur - Yes, there was a point in time where I was seriously considering putting a nine-year-old super genius and a giant red T-rex into my stories.
Ignoring the giant...”red flag” here, the reason why Luna never made it is the same reason why I haven’t put Rishi in anything yet. It’s because I don’t really know what to do with supergeniuses that young. Hiro is at least a teenager and thus has teenager-y problems to fall back on (like puberty and Karmi and all that jazz), but a nine-year-old? That’s a little too extreme for me.
When I was nine, I was busy playing with sticks in my backyard with my brother, not solving unsolvable puzzles from Bruce Banner.
...All that, and the giant dinosaur.
But hey, at least Disney is jumping on the MG/DD train. That’s good to see.
Crossover potential, perhaps?
P.S. - As I was finishing putting this post together, it occurred to me that I may get this possible question in the comments, so I’m going to head it off at the pass.
“You know that all of your possible superheroes are girls, right?”
First of all...sexist.
Second of all...true.
That was about 90% on accident. The actual team (Robbie, Aspen, Peni, Doreen, and Kate) has only one guy on it (two if you count Eli, three if you count Tippy-Toe).
I don’t really have a good explanation for that. I like all superheroes, but I think that the girl and woman superheroes need some spotlight, you know? I could have pulled people like Namor or Miles or the male Hawkeye into the mix, but to be honest, I find the characters I chose more interesting than a lot of the guy characters I was contemplating.
Of course, nothing is stopping any of you from using those characters in your stories. Be my guest, not that you really need my permission or anything.
But you can’t take Aspen. Aspen is mine. (Spoiler: Aspen is not mine.)

TOP 10 FAVORITE LEES THAT I HAVEN’T WRITTEN ABOUT YET
This one was just kind of off-the-cuff. Still thinking about the year I’ve been on Tumblr and the crap I’ve thrown at you people.
There’s tons of characters that deserve to be tickled. So many it’s hard to keep track. XD These are some that I’ve wanted to do something with…they’re kind of on my wish list…but have never had the time or opportunity.
The rule is that I can’t have posted any tickle content for them so far. Not just fics or headcanons; even in my “underrated characters” or canon posts. So even though She-Hulk is extremely high on my list, she’s not here. Lol No particular order.
Art3mis (Ready Player One)
It’s the smile that does it for me. She’s just super-underrated in general. Art3mis seems like a girl who really can’t handle being tickled. XD
Risky Boots (Shantae)
Villains are always great picks. (Since Shantae always attacks with her ponytail, I’ve wondered in the past if she’s ever used her hair-control to tickle Risky.)
Tracer (Overwatch)
Yeah, picking her is a bit of a cliche at this point, and to be honest, I have no interest in Overwatch as an IP. But come on, she’s just too damn cute. This one positively radiates “tickle me” energy.
Spider-Gwen (Marvel)
Honestly it was a toss-up between her, Peni Parker, and Mayday Parker/Spider-Girl.
Sora (Kingdom Hearts)
Kairi too, but Sora is more important. Plus he seems more like a switch than she does.
Twili Midna (The Legend of Zelda)
She already laughs constantly in-game, particularly during her appearance in Hyrule Warriors, and it’s endlessly fun to listen to. Cocky and arrogant, maybe some tickling could humble her a bit. ;)
April O’Neil (TMNT)
Do I really need to explain this one?
Krystal & Fox McCloud (Star Fox)
IDK man.
Barbara Gordon/Batgirl (The Batman)
Basically any version of Batgirl could go here, but I always liked this version the best - she’s just fun. Plus there was an episode where she got poisoned with Joker gas, and she had a great laugh that really sounded like she was being tickled. 😆 IMO
So, yeah! Still really backed up on asks/requests and probably won’t be done for a while, so the likelihood of me writing something for any of these guys beyond a headcanon is dubious.
(But I’d loooooove to at least do that 😋 These guys deserve some tickle fluff!)

so I saw Venom.
It was 95% a delightful Eddie/Venom romcom, but the 5% that bugged me . . . a)Anne was a bit of a damsel in distress and b)they decided to bring in the MCU and give Venom the asspull of symbiote multiverse knowledge.
I LIKED having a Venom who did not know or care who Spider-Man was. I never liked Venom in Spider-Man stories; he always came across as a red kryptonite excuse to have Peter act like an asshole. This Venom? It’s a Venom who tells Eddie “try harder not to be a dick.” A Venom who had a coming out scene and admitted he loved Eddie. It takes away from that if he’s still got a weird vendetta against Spider-Man even though Eddie has no idea who that is.
part of the letdown is probably that I checked out of the MCU a while back. It had just gotten really bloated and ended up like the later installments of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen where there seemed to be more focus on sticking in references and cameos to other things than the actual plot or character development.
If they had to bring in a Spider-person I think it would’ve been much funnier to make it Spiderverse. Just imagine the multiverse group chat:
Miles: so, um. I finally met that guy Venom that all of you individually made a point to warn me about and something weird happened.
Peter B: Are you okay? Do you need backup?
Miles: No, I’m fine, didn’t even get attacked.
Gwen: Did he try to bond with you? Is he reading the chat now?
Miles: Nothing like that, he’s got another host. They showed up to stop the same shooter I’d come to stop. He asked if I minded if he ate the guy and when I said not to he was annoyed but let me hand him over to the police. Didn’t seem interested in attacking me or taking me over.
Noir: Hrm. His most likely host is Eddie Brock, but he doesn’t seem to have sworn vengeance against you.
Miles: Yeah, that’s him -- he introduced himself after. But that’s not the weird part.
Ham: Since your definition of “weird” doesn’t tend to involve the fourth wall, oversized props, or talking animals I probably won’t guess this one.
Peni: What happened?
Miles: Well, once the crisis was over he left, and given all the warnings I got paranoid and tried to follow him and uh. Eddie and the symbiote were making out in an alley.
Noir: Ah, makes sense. Mine calmed down a lot when they reached that stage of symbiosis. You probably shouldn’t try to follow them again, though.
Miles: Wasn’t planning on it.

Give him time, they'd said. Given all that Elyan's been through, Percival thinks he understands. But as the months go by and the distance grows, he starts to wonder.
A lovely fic that deals with Elyan’s trauma following Morgana’s torture and Gwen’s banishment, written with great tenderness.
Little House on the Edge of Nowhere by Isabear
Legends say Percival lived in the forest before he came to Camelot. This was true, but he didn't live alone.
Beautiful fic giving us an au on both men pre-canon. So much contained in so few words!
Every Inch of You by Fr333bird
Percival is self conscious about the size of his penis, not for the usual size!kink reasons.
So sweet and great porn too!
Some Small Happiness (Is Sometimes Hard to Find) by bevinkathryn
Percy is struggling with the loss of Elyan. Merlin goes to talk to him.
Ok so I normally try to pretend Elyan never died in canon but this is a fic to heal your heart, with Percival and Merlin sharing their favourite memories of Elyan.
I Like a Boy in Uniform by sophinisba
Elyan and the other knights get ready for Arthur and Gwen's wedding.
This is more Elyan focussed but I couldn’t resist! He’s trans and making his own life and loving Percival and it’s so nice.
Perfect Harmony in a Stranger's World by Nebula5030
When Arthur and Gwen leave to attend a conference in Nemeth, Elyan is appointed Regent and tasked with running the kingdom while they're away.
But luckily for him, Percival is right there with open arms and ears, and maybe an open heart as well.
Elyan as regent is awesome and you get so many lovely character moments from him and Percival and their growing bond.
In the moment we're lost and found by donttouchtheneednoggle
In which Percival is pining, Elyan has a new perspective and Gwaine is really REALLY done with being the brain cell of the group
Set post Elyan being possessed by the druid boy. Funny but also with lots of good feels, and a hint at a different Camelot being possible...
Love With All Your Heart by TheLastLonelyWriter
Even when he has so little free time, Elyan spends it doing something for someone else. And he does it with all his heart.
Great Perlyan and such a lovely sibling relationship between Gwen and Elyan as a bonus!
Skating Zombie by mooonwaffle
Percival convinces Elyan to go ice skating with him but things take a turn.
Absolutely adorable fluff!
Oblivious by happyevraftr
Elyan and Percival decide it's high time the King and his Manservant realized their feelings for each other. Along the way, they find each other.
Mutual pining! Miscommunication! Sexual frustration! This fic has it all and it's so beautifully written too.
#merlin rec list#elyan/percival#perlyan#merlin bingo#merlin#percival/elyan#i shortened some summaries just so this post wasn't uber long#it was so hard to limit this to just ten!#there really are a lot of great stories out there
