The narrative climax of the REIGEN spin-off manga is so unexpectedly somber and tragic. Bones needs to animate it so so bad bc could you even imagine the redraws and edits and amvs that would come from it? Tome crying in fear and Reigen hugging her to transfer the curse to himself and die in place of her. Reigen walking out into the middle of the forest, rapidly declining, expecting to die alone, his only hope being Mob who he isn’t sure will arrive in time or even show up to help him at all. A weak and half-dead Reigen being yanked off the ground by his suit lapels by a vision of Mob who tells Reigen that he’s come to save him, that he knows the way out, that everything’s going to be okay. And Reigen knows it isn’t the real Mob, but he doesn’t run or try to save himself and calls it by Mob’s name anyway. An angst-lover’s paradise.

brother crab's fall 2024 first impressions: maou 2099

i think i forgot to make a post after the first ep because my first impressions of it were just. not that deep. i do remember going in with zero expectations and thinking hey this is actually better and more interesting than what i'd imagined! but it still wasn't That interesting

HOWEVER

SECOND EPISODE ELEVATED EVERYTHING

first of all peak bishounen demon lord design here. nothing revolutionary but a solid classic. 10/10 no notes

and like okay so the premise of a ye olden fantasy times demon lord being defeated then resurrected into a far future sci-fi world sounded really fun with the potential to be super funny. it made me think of paripi koumei which was basically incredible

the first ep was a little higher on the drama than the humor imo, but the second ep? second ep, the humor really hit

i'm absolutely loving the demon lord's extremely loyal, faithful follower who worked for centuries to resurrect him and is also his number one simp. like this poor girl almost got outed as a demon king otome doujinshi otaku. right in front of her demon king

demon lord's job hunt and the outcome of it is also just. i won't even spoil it because. hilarious. truly

the worldbuilding is also reasonably interesting, i think that was one of the things that impressed me most in the first episode

overall, really pleasantly surprised by this one and looking forward to more!

So I just rewatched the Attack on Titan ending for the second time and of course the ending has me all fucked up. I’ve been trying to find some fix-it fics on ao3 but I can’t seem to find much even with all of my filtering. There’s a lot of shipping fics and I’m not really looking for that- the only exception would probably be Eren/Mikasa but that’s mostly it. Background ships are fine too but I need that ending specifically REWRITTEN.

Anyone have any recommendations? I’d like to have happy feelings again pls.

Kinda upset that I had a dream w sukuna but I didn't ask for pronouns. What a missed opportunity.

But sukuna and gojo got isekai'd (ig, looking back on it, at the time I thought they died) getting sucked out of this broken domain barrier like an airplane window. And I didn't.

So I after that was rescuing this barn full of cats that were muddy from a flood.

Earlier, someone had expected me to join in for some ritual, but the vibes were off. The cats wouldnt go near the area. So with my arms full of colorful pentacle-carved candles I backed out. Confused bc I thought Satan was chill but this felt bad.

I guess that's whose domain we were in - some unknown sorcerers. They shut me in bc I wouldn't cooperate.

Rip sukuna and gojo at least they made it to the yaoi universe

And also the way his resurrection is him goin' partially back into cat form plssssssss COME ON, LET HIM BE A FURBALL

also it would be interesting. I don't think (don't know) if it was mentioned - any other, than human, soul turning hollow. So he would be speshial <3

this might just be an unpopular opinion in the jjk fandom but i love how little seriously things happen for the most part since the culling game started, like i miss being seriously emotionally invested in it a little bit ngl but i love the way the newer characters will just open their mouths and say things so much, they were all forced in this game against their will and the only ones that survived long enough to make it in the cast are the unhinged ones that makes so much sense to me. maybe I liked the plot until the shibuya incident a little more but tbh some of my favourite characters in the whole manga have been introduced or have been made relevant during the culling game, some of these guys are just pure gold on legs
